i don't know why, but in the sparse five hours of sleep i got last night, my brain decided to plague me with dreams of lilia taking care of an elderly silver, up until the final moments of his life. i could hear silver's thoughts the whole time, and he was so absolutely inundated with shame and guilt it almost seemed like he was suffocating. he kept thinking over and over and over again that this all should've been the other way around. he should've been the one looking after his father in the twilight of his life. he should've been his aging father's rock, his safe place to land, his stalwart defender against a world so unbelievably cruel to its most vulnerable denizens. again and again his heart cried out in vain, it should've been the other way around.

as a child he had once wished - prayed, even, to the same force now threatening to reclaim his spirit back into its unconscious designs - for his father to live a long and prosperous life, and it was as though that very wish had backfired on him in a way he never could have possibly imagined

​Housewardens X Chubby!reader

This has been sitting in the drafts for ages. But for all my fellow Plus size Twst fans out there. 

This isn’t light hearted in tone like the Obey Me one, but even so, I hope you enjoy.

Just like with the Obey Me one, I do mention body insecurities concerning weight. 

Riddle

Riddle is the one who has a lot to unpack. With his moms obsessive calorie counting and portion sizing, I wouldn’t be surprised if she had instilled in Riddle the idea the being over the average weight=the worst thing you can be. Riddle may not be rude to your face about it. But you can feel the judgment.

After his Overblot and realizing he was wrong and needing to mellow out a bit, is when he realized how horribly he had misjudged you. If you had been purposefully avoiding him so as not to deal with his bullshit, Riddle will apologize with you the first chance he gets, because who knows when the next chance will be? 

Over all Riddle has come a long way since coming to NRC, and he is your #1 defender. He will not hear any rudeness towards you. It is off with the heads of anyone that wants to make a comment about your weight or anyone else who is also plus size for that matter. 

Leona

In his homeland it’s actually viewed as a good thing to have extra weight. A bit of a hold over from the olden days of famine when people still lived off the land. Caring more weight meant you were taken care of and nowadays it’s a cute trait. So Leona does not mind at all, and has no qualms telling you he likes it.

You will be a pillow for this asshole. If you find him napping somewhere, you will be dragged down and have him lay on your stomach. 

Pretty much all of the guys from the Sunset Savanna are in the same boat as Leona for the as mentioned above reason. So they’re all cool, and if anyone ever bullies you for being plus size, you can call up one of them. 

Azul

Azul is the one that well and truly gets it. When you vent or recount a story about how the store carried nothing in your size. The times you felt the judgmental eyes of others. Or when you had to get off a ride because the seatbelt was a touch too small to buckle. It’s been a few years since Azul had been in your position, but that fat kid he was never truly left him in the back of his mind. Sure some of the other housewardens may be sympathetic, but Azul is the one that really understands how horrible it can all feel.

It’s one of two things with Azul. Either you are someone like him, who is self conscious and wants to loose weight, he’ll help and share tips on what helped him. (For a modest fee of course) On other hand, if you are comfortable and confident in your skin, Azul has a level of respect for you, and even a bit jealous. Your prior surroundings had not been cruel enough to you where you had endure the mockery he did. And if you were bullied for your weight, you didn’t allow it to break you. That quality alone is something Azul admires in you. In a way it makes him wonder how he would have been if his environment had been kinder to him.

Azul will not tolerate anyone who is rude to you for your weight. Even if it doesn't matter to you, it does to him. He’s not projecting, what? You’ll find minor annoyances like that start go away after awhile. If you ever comment on it he’ll simply go, “Oh really? I hadn’t noticed. But it so much nicer without people like that yapping away when they're not wanted?”

Kalim

It has genuinely never occurred to Kalim. Well, not occurred but rather it’s not something he thinks about. Like he knows you're chubby, but he doesn't pay it much mind. If you’re some who is on the shy side, he has a knack for making you comfortable. If you’re more extroverted, you’ll get along with him phenomenally.

Kalim unabashedly adores you. He gives his affection you, whether that be platonic or romantically, without any thought. You’re one of his favorite people. 

If Kalim did have comment about your chubbyness, it is always positive. Boy loves to hug and cuddle you, he loves it. Give him all the snuggles.

Vil

Despite how Vil will diet at at the slightest sign of weight gain, he doesn’t expect that of you, that is just what he puts on himself. Unless you are part of something liek the VDC training camp, Vil will never impose his strict diet or routines onto you if that is not what you want, and you will never hear him comment on it either.

Vil doesn’t really care about you being on the plump side, what he does care about is whether or not you are making any effort. You know he doesn’t take sloppiness. If you tell him you have trouble shopping for your size, Vil will find something. 

Overall, despite being in a very vain industry and the rigid beauty standards he hold himself to, Vil has met many talented and gorgeous people of all shapes and sizes. So he views you in that same regard: Someone wonderful that he cares about dearly.

Idia

Let’s be honest, Idia does not care. If anything you guys are on opposite ends of the spectrum, you’re chubby (and if you’re short too like me, welcome to the club) and then you have this tall lanky mf. If anything Idia wishes he could gain a little weight so he can stop being called a radish sprout. 

 If you and Idia are romantically involved in some way, expect your thighs to be his new obsession. Even if you are not together and it’s just a crush on his part, he’s going to be thinking about it. He would like very much to have to have his head in your lap please. 

Unironically calls you��“Thicc AF”. I will let you decide for yourself if that is an endearing quality or not.

Malleus

Like Kalim, Malleus Doesn’t really care nor think about it. Fae don’t really have the same concept of fatphobia or body image issues like humans do. Plus a some very famous fairies are also on the more plump side. Malleus doesn’t really care. If you are self conscious about being chubby or tell him that other people are, this is all news to him. 

But it’s one of those things that, once you bring it to his attention, Malleus finds he likes those qualities about you. Whether that is in general or jsut because they are your traits remains to be seen. But Malleus finds he enjoys holding you, or laying on your stomach, lap, or chest if you will allow it. (Romantically or if you guys are just close like that.) 

If people gave you crap about your weight, you will find that is no longer a  problem, because no one wants the ire of a dragon for bullying his child of man.

Hey, remember the soulmate au by tiyoin(?) I recently read your post abt idia and Leona reacting to yuu being their mates, but I wanna take it a step further since I saw idias line abt the family curse (this has yandere implications so if it's not your cup of tea please feel free to just ignore, nothing is outright mentioned tho)

What if yuu has a family curse similar to the aishi family in yandere simulator? (It's been years since I touched the game so if the lore changed I'm basing it off of 2018 ish lore, just with my own twist) basically yes, yuu CAN feel emotions, they're just muted and barely there. Given the right conditions (like falling in love or spending time with friends) and/or antidepressants they'll basically be like any other person, without them it's like a less severe version of the aishi women pre-falling in love

So, afab ppl born in yuus family, once falling in love, start losing their sanities and adopt yandere like behavior (stalking, increasing rage and jealousy, willingness to murder, etc) unfortunately this means they usually die young (20s or 30s) how quickly/young they die is based on their willpower (resisting the urges) and when/if they fall in love (so someone falling in love for the first time in their 40s and having insane willpower, caving in 20 years later in their 60s has more luck than a 16 year old falling in love and caving in almost immediately). Unfortunately everyone is a carrier, men carry the gene and can pass it to their daughters, but it only presents in the women/afab ppl, so transfems won't be affected but transmascs will.

What if yuu fell in love already (in their own world) and has just been doing a really REALLY good job at Resisting The Urges™️. Like, sometimes they slip up and cave in to anger or get ridiculously jealous, but they try their hardest to tamp down the feelings. Yuu has sworn off falling in love (again) and has given up their dream of having a big family bc of the curse, they're even distancing themselves from their object of affection in an attempt to "be normal again" at the cost of their own sanity.

So yuu gets transported to twst, and without their darling, they have the chance to be normal again, assuming they can get past the initial panic frenzy. Then the soul bond is revealed and they just go "nope. Not this shit again" and spouts cryptic messages about a family curse and swearing off love. I'm pretty sure most of the boys would feel a bit hurt by that lmao

This is mostly made for idia since his segment is what sparked the idea in the first place, but which characters from most to least likely do you think would try to pursue mc and figure out the truth to leave them alone and try to move on? I personally can't see someone like kalim giving up on both but I think the octatrio would try to look for the truth but be 50/50 on pursuing yuu or dropping them like a hot potato. Idia I think would try to relate to yuu and try to pursue them, but I think he'd probably be a bit put off once yuu starts dropping hints about the curse (he's a weeb so it won't take long for him and maybe Ortho to put 2+2 together and figure out the curse)

so. uh. I got this ask when I first woke up and 1) very happy to hear from you Rose, always lovely to get a new ask and 2) yandere? sim? has lore? I did not think people actually played the game? help. i've fallen and misplaced my life alert. As a rule I don't really write for a Yuu who is just x character from y game/anime (it is in my rules) so while I was at work realizing I might be old I was trying to think of a way to do this that wasn't just yan sim (I wanted something properly gn) and I think I've got something? I am currently beating away the desire to info dump on you about the myth of Sigurd and Brunhilde (i could scream about that for hours oh god oh please i have written an actual au for that but efkjbekjrgbjrthnytrh) So here is the basic idea:

Yuu ran afoul of a witch in their world and was appropriately cursed. Given the myth I was inspired by I don't think Yuu did anything bad, but they still made the witch mad so they got cursed to lose all reason should they ever fall in love.

"You will be thine own destruction!" Cackles the witch and Yuu, who is actually normal unlike trey this person takes a deep breath and resigns themselves to researching a way to minimize the effects and maybe break it? They don't know they thought magic was fake until they thought they were just doing a favor for someone but turns out they pissed off Baba fucking Yaga.

They start to isolate themselves since they notice the curse starting to eat at them when they are around anyone the love; they consider going back to the witch and asking for further clarification but they can't seem to find them anywhere so they take some deep breaths and do their best to just be normal.

When they end up in Twisted Wonderland, and start feeling... weird. And it only gets worse when Crowley speculates that they might have been brought to Twisted Wonderland because they posses a soulbond.

And Yuu immediately freaks out because they don't want to kill anyone.

Now as for your question for who would try to pursue Yuu vs just leave them... well I don't really like writing un reciprocated feelings so I hesitate to say any of the cast would drop Yuu. In my au it isn't possible for soulbonds to not be reciprocated, and they are already sort of seen as a curse by mages so this... complication might not be normal but it isn't unexpected if that makes sense. Which would probably make Yuu swearing off love hurt even worse.

Kalim wouldn't want to abandon Yuu. Not ever, no matter how much of a danger they could be to him. Hell, he's willing to forgive people who are trying to poison him on the off chance they might regret it. But he is the heir of House Al-Asim, and I could see his dad paying someone to take Yuu out to keep his son safe. Something Jamil sees coming from a mile away and has to just keep quiet about. Something I can see Jamil feeling bad about, he might not like Kalim but you didn't ask for anything that happened to you. And yet the Asim's took your life from you anyway.

Have to disagree about the octatrio just a bit. Floyd would be into this. And so would Jade. But especially Floyd, oh hee hee ha ha his soul mate wants to kill him? Say less he is on his way to get his ass eat beat with an engagement ring in hand. Both he and Jade would be a little disappointed when the curse is broken and you aren't actively trying to kill him anymore... maybe you could try and poison him huh? Like old times?

I wrote 20 paper pages of soulbond au stuff for Azul so I will try to be brief here but... I don't think this situation would be one that made him try to break the bond. He has... complicated feelings about soulbonds already. If anything I could see him thinking he deserves this.

Now Idia. He's complicated. Pre-overblot he has given up on the concept of breaking his own curse, and I could see him feeling the same way about yours. Ortho on the other hand... even before he gets his soul he wants to help. After the overblot I can see Idia pursuing Yuu determined to find the truth and save them. Not that he wouldn't interact with them before that, he's a bit nihilistic so I can see him just making a bunch of jokes about the situation or promising to let Yuu kill him "after this next round." Or just straight up asking them to when he has to hit pity in one of his gachas. It's just cringe enough that it snaps Yuu out of the curse fog for long enough for the two of them to be normal around each other. And by normal I mean incredibly awkward

“…okay.”

“Whu-” it feels like your jaw is about to hit the floor.

You expected a question, a comment, something? Jamil just looks back stoically at you, not a hint of an expression to give away a single thought in his brain.

“You’re okay with that?” you feel embarrassed, you propositioned him and you’re the one feeling embarrassed. God, why did you ever think this was a good idea?

His almond eyes flick to your wrist and then firmly clasps his hand around it, gently passing by your shoulder to tug you inside the building that you had just invited him into. You followed wordlessly, feeling baffled.

Jamil slowly sits on the couch and gently tugs you forward, his eyes locking on yours as you settle into a seat in front of him. He continues pulling your wrist insistently, until your opposite hand falls to his chest when you stumble from the force. You look up at him, and he finally has an expression, a sly smile.

Jamil traces your hairline from your temple behind your ear, pushing any strands on his way back from your eyes to get a better look at your huge eyes and heated face. Finally pulling the hand that had been caught in his grip next to the one you had ungracefully slapped onto the front of his shirt, he chuckles.

“You know, as much as I like you being forward, you might be even more cute when you’re shy.” his eyes twinkle mischievously with the comment, trailing his hand under your chin to cup your face gently.

He pulls your face closer and then whispers into your hair, hot breath fanning over the shell of your ear as he speaks.

“Well? Are we going to make out or what?”

Something in you snaps as you hungrily lunge forward to push your lips onto his and thread your fingers into his perfect hair, Jamil gasps quietly before you can feel his lips pulling into a smile.

Just as you thought that it was going well though, Jamil gingerly pushes you back by the shoulders and grabs his phone from his pocket as he stands up, walking towards the door you both just entered from.

About to cry in confusion and disappointment, you wordlessly knit your brows as he turns back to meet your gaze.

“Just a moment, I need to message Kalim that I’m not going to be able to make it home tonight.”

"I don't know how to say this... do you want to make out on my couch?"

Kalim’s eyes practically sparkle at your question, immediately jumping forward into your arms to pull you into the messiest (and yet endearingly enthusiastic) lip-lock of your life.

After a solid minute of hungry and insistent kisses that have more tongue than you would ever expect from a first smooch, you and Kalim separate with a gasp. It appears he was holding his breath the whole time.

“So you love me?” he grins, his kiss-redded lips pulling into an ecstatic grin as his gorgeous eyes shut into a close eyed smile.

“Well I-” you sputter, not sure how to respond now that you’ve been put on the spot.

“Actually, you know what? Let’s talk later!” Kalim interrupts with a chuckle, immediately shushing you yet again with open-mouthed kisses that seem fully committed to physically stealing your breath away.

Kalim pushes you inside Ramshackle, not letting you look away from him as he slowly guides you backwards until the back of your knees softly hit the cushion of your well-worn couch. Said couch protests with an ancient creak, but Kalim remains completely unfazed.

His touch is burning and persistent across your body, you yourself trail your hands down his back and along his arms.

Taking your time to slowly trace your hands over the white markings on his arms, thinking about how much firmer his body was than you expected and how long you had desperately wished for this every time he would tackle you into a hug during gym, offer you some of his lunch during breaks or when he would grab you by the arm and pull you off to look at something that just ‘couldn’t wait’.

As you daydream, you grasp onto him harder and harder, his headband was lost at some point and he’s been slowly shedding layers without you noticing. How did he even do that while he was kissing you so hard?

“Remind me…” he says between kisses “to buy you…” a gasp “a new couch.” he finishes, the springs below you creaking as if they were in agreement.

“Kalim, I don’t need…” he finally stops for a moment and stares into your eyes, and you feel wildly self-conscious again.

“...a new couch” you finish, desperately willing yourself to look away from the red eyes that bore into yours as Kalim firmly grasps you by your shoulders.

“No, no, you will.” he says firmly, shaking his head in a way that lightly jostles his down-soft hair.

“I’m planning on breaking this one.” he states simply, before diving back into your heated embrace.

this dude loves that your actually (trying at least) to be interested in what he says. He probably mentioned his mushroom thing and the second you asked about it he gave a slightly amused look. Honestly tho u probably don't care that much and he knows, but he appreciates your effort

Epel Felmier- Taking him seriously

He's a very feminine looking dude. You not pointing it out or even seeming to notice is what makes him gain interest in you.

Rook Hunt- Everything

He's French or something, They're romantic right? (Watch me get canceled) He makes it a point to compliment every part of you any chance he gets.

Vil Schoenheit- You don't use him

Most people thinks he's a total loser (he is). You don't make fun of him or anything, you just sit there and watch in silence as he rants about some game. He's surprised that you don't think he's weird or some filthy otaku.

Malleus Draconia- Everything

The only person who seems to not be scared of him is this shrimp in a run-down dorm. He's actually obsessed with every little thing about you, from the way you laugh to the length of your arms. He just loves being around you in general.

Silver- Put him at ease

He sleeps at random times and as long as you catch him before his head hits the road it'll all be fine. He likes the feeling he gets around you. He would try his best to stay awake while being around you. Tbh he just really likes you being okay with his sleeping habit

I'm kinda curious about your view on vil and your thoughts on the trauma he possibly or could have inflicted on Yuu during book 5.

The headcannon: Basically Yuu (who is female for this) hides the fact that she's a girl for safety reasons (I mean not only is Yuu magic less in another world, she's also in a all boy school. Yeah that doesn't scream good idea). The only who knows are the teachers, Crowley, Grim and later Ace and Deuce when she's comfortable enough to tell them. At some point before book 5, Yuu is allowed a small vacation out of NRC for the crap she had to deal with jamil in the previous book; during her vacation goes out as herself and runs into neige. They become friends and stay in touch with one another. Yuu made Neige promise not to say anything about her actually gender as a few know in NRC.

*Also have a headcannon where Yuu is a school idol like love live and secretly helps Neige and the dwarfs write a song and dance that works for them for VDC. Yuu and Neige were already writing a song together just for fun since Yuu missed being a school idol and hasn't written a song since coming to twisted wonderland 😅

So I've written about my thoughts on Vil before and honestly he's kind of one of my - if not my most - least favourite character(s).

I've cut this up for length:

I know that he has a lot of trauma and that he's a character that lots of people can mischaracterize and hate irrationally but he just rubs me the wrong way - and I'm saying this as a former gifted child and as someone who has witnessed people go through burn out both in Primary and Secondary school. I feel sorry for him and I understand that the pressure of perfection can be an incredible burden to bear but the way he treats others is just so grating that I can't say I like him that much.

Honestly, Book 5 is my least favourite book (then it's 3 then 4) and I have so much to say for everything; the blackmail, Vil's behaviour, Vil cursing our food without telling us, having to share a dorm with Jamil when he used Yuu and endangered them for his own gain (and then Kalim for sweeping it under the rug), Vil almost making Deuce cry, the Neige hate, Vil facing absolutely no consequences for trying to murder someone and then nearly killing everyone and destroying a building.

Yes, I agree that Epel has a mindset of toxic masculinity and yes, it should be addressed and challenged. But Vil's military dictator training and forcing him to do things that he hates (and even making him hide his accent - something that connects him to the home and family he loves) is not how you do it. I don't despise feminine things like he does, but even I would hate to live up to Vil's standards every single day (especially when Vil degrades far more times than he praises).

Something I really really hate about the twst fandom is how lots of people put down Neige or make him the butt of a joke just to make Vil better. I've seen so many jokes or fanfics or imagines where Neige gets rejected or laughed at or treated terribly just so that Vil can be seen as superior and as someone who actually really likes Neige and has Snow White as their favourite princess ever since they were in reception, I just can't stand the Neige hate. Especially when he was almost a victim of a poisoning plot - as in Vil literally tried to kill him for absolutely no reason at all (before he then tried to kill us for 'seeing an ugly side of him' which we are supposed to forgive because of course we are)

I really loved that Neige story and I actually do headcanon that Neige and Yuu are really close friends and they text each other 24/7 (and also with Prince Rielle). I did make a #JusticeForYuu post where I said that I wanted Yuu to just send the entirety of NRC (minus Ace and Deuce) to coventry and not give them the time of day so I thought it would be just delicious if Neige is the one that helps Yuu with all things fashion related since he's just as famous (if not more so) than Vil with his own line of clothing and make up and would have access to things they would need.

And I think you somehow managed to read my mind because I have this Yuu that's a theatre kid (this is not relevant at all but this fem!Yuu was also Christine Daaé in her theatre's performance of Phantom of the Opera) with the voice of an angel that's best friends with Neige and the two of them totally duet together - I did kind of toy with the idea of Neige hyping her up to sing something for VDC as a closing performance and her blowing everyone away but I digress...

You know what? I am actually against the headcanon that RSA is filled with snooty, condescending, stuck up rich kids with a holier-than-thou attitude - I'm under the firm belief that the RSA students are actual sweethearts who are kind and caring and aren't the type of people who would inflict trauma on an innocent magicless teenager. The only reason why I don't want Yuu to transfer to RSA is because they'd have to leave Ace and Deuce behind (as well as the Ramshackle ghosts) and those boys are literally everything to me so I like to think that Yuu likes to go to RSA like once a week or something to spend time with people who don't try to manipulate or mistreat them.

I do have a lot more things to say but my brain has gone to mush and I can't think of anything so here

you stood awkwardly in the corner of the room, fiddling your fingers. what were you doing here, really? you looked at nifty, cleaning every nook and cranny of the hotel with extreme haste. your eyes moved to charlie and vaggie who seemed to be brainstorming over new trust exercises to introduce to the hotel. husk was at his bar, cleaning the glasses in a much slower pace compared to the nimble cleaning demon. alastor and angel dust were nowhere to be seen.

and so, you just.. kinda stood there. you had only been at the hotel for a day, and even before you arrived, every part of your mind was screaming at you that this was a stupid idea and that you needed to turn back now. but since you were new, you didn’t really felt like you belonged. you parted your lips, letting a small sigh out.

“what are ya looking so down in the dumps for, toots?” the angel's voice cut your thoughts as he jabber a finger to your side. you gasped, leaning away from the touch.

“oh.. um, no reason. you don’t have to worry.” you stammered out a response, but the look of doubt that crosses angel’s face tells you that he didn’t believe a word of what you just said. still, it seemed like he didn’t ponder it for long because his eyes widened, as if he had just realized something.

“hey…” he started, walking closer so that he was almost towering over you. “ya ticklish?”

oh no. no WAY.

“no! i’m not!” please don’t try, you thought, even though.. a small part of you wanted him to. but..

“sure about that?” a smirk had finally entered angel’s face as he latched his hands to your sides and it was already to resist smiling from the antipation.

“yes, very sure!” you sputtered, backing up and almost tripping. he caught you, obviously, because he already had his hands on you. however, to keep you from falling, he had to tighten his grip. by squeezing your sides.

you were mortified when a giggle slipped out before you could stop it. the way angel’s face lit up would haunt your nightmares for weeks. and then, he launched his attack.

he began squeezing at your sides, watching you squirm and buck your hips.

“hkk!” you smiled, crookedly, trying your best not to laugh, but it was already so hard.

“no need to resist, baby, i already know you’re ticklish.” when he found a particularly sensitive spot, you could already feel your defenses crumbling. when he lingered on that spot, you were positively sure you were dying.

“noho! stahahap!” you giggled at last, a snort escaping you with how much effort you had tried to not laugh.

“got ya~!” angel teased, slurring his words and he continued to tickle you. you were vaguely aware of how silent the room had gone, the others turning to watch you and you felt your face heating up with embarrassment.

“ahahangehehel!” you giggled, pushing at his hands.

“that’s my name!” angel smiled and across the room, charlie gasped.

“tickling!” she shouted, standing up with stars in her eyes. “that’ll be our next trust exercise!”

angel stopped tickling you at that, and you sighed in relief and caught your breath. you rubbed against the spots he tickled when the tingling sensation still lingered.

“tickling?” angel asked, a brow raised.

“yes! what else is safe and comforting and still allows for bonds to grow like tickling?” charlie exclaims, enthusiastic as she began jotting down ideas on lying pieces of paper. beside her, vaggie looked nervous.

so did angel, actually, you realized when you glanced at him. a small blush was on his face but you only realized because you were looking closely. with an idea in your head, you smiled sweetly.

“i think it’s a great idea! should angel go first?”

I really live the idea of the twst anime just showing random things that happen with the characters that we don't see in the main story, the obey me anime did that too and I think it was for the best! I would also like to see some events played put in the anime bc I think it would be fun to see some of them in a form other than the game! that would give us a chance to maybe see some different places other than nrc too! I think the masquerade event might be too big for one episode of the anime but it would be really cool to see it animated. I also want to see najma, cheka and some other family/friends that we either have seen little of or haven't met before (deuces mom and malleus grandma! the leech parents! azuls family??? SEBEKS MOM AND DAD??) they don't have to play a big part in it, just little bits with them if the anime is focusing on certain characters each episode

In talks of the TWST anime (which we still don't have a lot of details about), I do often hear comparisons made to Obey Me, which got an anime adaptation that focused not on the main story but on the daily lives and stupid shenanigans of the characters. As I mentioned before, I would prefer if TWST went this route for its anime rather than repeating the main story for (what is it now?) a 4th time (game, manga, light novel, now anime).

The main story is fine and all, but to me each retelling barely adds anything new to the actual plot (even if the Yuu is changed up), and I'm personally not all that invested in them when they don't play an active role for half of the story. I feel like the art form of animation could be much better utilized to explore things not tackled in the manga or the light novel: new locations, new characters, new lore. It could even be adaptations of the less serious conflicts in events or vignettes! This would get newcomers introduced to TWST without spoiling the main story while also providing fanservice to preexisting fans. There's just so much of TWST not touched upon outside of the game, and I think that's a real shame because Twisted Wonderland has very interesting places, cultures, and people! I personally want to see more of the characters interacting and more of the world in the anime rather than the episodes trying to shoehorn Yuu into scenes they don't necessarily have anything to do in. (That's honestly a lot of the gripes I have with Yuu; their presence oftentimes feels contrived and lacking 💦 and I feel like this issue will become extremely apparent in animation unless Yuu is changed significantly and actually given things to do where game!Yuu did not (ie during battles, in book 5, etc.)) I definitely feel like my interests are more aligned with learning more about the 22 boys in the main cast and their relationships and families. Maybe we could have an episode or two dedicated to just how their friends/families reacted to them being accepted into THE Night Raven College! The anime certainly sounds like a faster way to see the family members of the boys over waiting for them to be introduced to us one by one in randomly placed hometown events 😅 I just want something more slow-paced and character focused, time to take in the scenery and how the characters act around each other... not, "Oh gee. Fancy that, starting with Heartslabyul all over again."

In regards to Glorious Masquerade, I do think it would be possible to cram everything into one episode's run time (especially if you condense the boys exploring the City of Flowers into a quick montage), but I don't think it would be paced too well. To be safe, it could take place over the span of a few episodes, maybe 2 (with part 1 being the pre-crimson flower phase and part 2 being the post-crimson flower phase).

Leona will stay silent and keep you close by hugging them or, if you don’t want, he will stay near you with his body slightly touching yours or holding your hand. staying in silence for a while until they have calmed down a little

Leona will listen to whatever reason you were crying and, if it was someone who did it, he’ll be a lot furious. How dare they make you cry like this, it doesn’t matter if they are a friend of yours he will have to talk with them about it after you are feeling better, he might also provide a few ways to take your revenge with a smirk on his face please say no

He’s very possessive and protective of the ones he holds dear, so it’s not really surprising

Depending on how serious the situation is Leona might intervene with whatever is happening, he won’t let you deal with it alone even if you asked. Or even if you are able to do it alone, he prefers being there with you or knowing what is going to happen anyway

Seeing you crying like that defiantly shocked him and Leona tries to be more gentle with you for a while, he can’t take out of his mind your tears. He will also find excuses to check on you, making sure you are okay and well

I also think that he would be a lot more protective than usual, but it depends mostly on the situation, and how much you have been hurt. Leona will try to make it seem very casual but it’s pretty clear that he is worried for you, just don’t say it or you see a complete change in his personality lmfao

After you are more relaxed Leona would bring you to his room and ask Ruggie to bring some food, maybe some of your favorite snacks, to make you think about anything else. He will also let you do whatever you want inside his room or with him, but believe me, Leona will get slightly annoyed by some of your weird antics

He’s not the best at comforting you, but Leona is trying. And you can tell which is something pretty nice to see from the lazy second prince.

Pure p a n i c. Jack stops thinking for a while and just stays there with his head blank, until all he can do is hug you tightly and ask over and over what happened, does he need to throw hands

Since the initial shock, it will take a while for him to fully calm down and completely focus on you: Jack will listen to whatever you have to say, holding you closer to his chest and letting you cry, whispering comforting and kind words.

If you want to talk about it of course, in case Jack can wait until you feel calmer or you can decide to tell him. He understands that maybe it’s private stuff with a friend, but he will remind you that he is there for you even if he can’t help out and how, sometimes, it just feels better to have someone to talk to

Jack is a great listener, so you can go on with the story about whatever happened and he’s silent, nodding off a few times and not interrupting you. In the end, he will simply hug you again, and gently caress your back, thanking you for telling him what happens

If someone dared to make you cry Jack is ready to throw hands and not only that. He’s pretty pissed and would need a lot of convincing to not have a talk with them, Jack is so incredibly pissed. Even more than you are.

After he hears the story and you seem a little bit calmer than before, Jack is going to propose stuff you two can do together to make you think about anything else, asking if maybe you want to do something in particular. Jack is willing to do anything if that means you will smile once again

Until you feel completely better Jack is going to be very protective of you, when he usually isn’t to this extent, making sure that everyone is treating you right during a very delicate time

Meaning that he is a lot more around you, making sure that you aren’t feeling down, and maybe giving a few little gifts if he founds something that you may like or that it reminded him of you

Big gentle and caring puppy, Jack might not be sure about what to do at first but then he’s very nice and caring to have around, perhaps a bit awkward. But nothing much!

:D I'm so glad you like clingy, codependent bf Azul!!!! He's so terrifying. I'm relieved those unsettling feelings could be felt because I felt so when typing it. I had actually just finished watching a true crime series when I was writing it. It frightened me to such a degree that I had to put that anxiety into writing and thus clingy, codependent bf Azul was born. <3

Thank you so much for enjoying the trio in my writings!!! I never gave them much thought in the very beginning. They've grown on me. Like pesky barnacles on a whale's back, they are forever stuck. I wouldn't have it any other way hehe.

I will definitely write more for other characters! Actually, when twst got its English release I made a tier list to show my friend how I felt about the characters. Since then, my opinions and tastes have changed. There was a category called "we can get dinner, but that's it" and I put Trey there. It's an inaccurate portrayal now because he has moved up into my favorites, as have many of the others on the list. I want to write more for Vil (starting with the omegaverse fic hehe) and I definitely want to write for Lilia more often!!!! He has a lot of potential... >:)

Aaaaa otome au my beloved!!! I would love to ramble more and brain rot on it! There are so many routes it could go. >w< I hope to make it my next big project after DRU is complete. I just love the idea of a reader who is trying to survive romance rather than fall into it. Reader tries so hard to avoid every situation that may lead to blossoming feelings, hoping to be unlikable and boring enough to avoid raising the affection meters of the main cast. But seeing as Reader is the main character, that's just impossible. orz if Reader encounters more than three romantic events in a single day, they're shuddering and thinking it's an omen for something much worse (the inevitable confession or those horribly cliché moments where they're destined to accidentally kabedon a character or fall into his chest or (worst of all) have a heartfelt, touching moment that establishes a deeper connection).

I have so many ideas for comedic interactions and jokes. I want to make a meta joke at some point in my outline, in which Idia and Reader are talking about video games and reality and Idia says, "Wouldn't it be easier if everyone had likability meters? Then you could just avoid getting caught up in useless quick-time events if you know the people around you hate you." And Reader, without missing a beat, very bluntly says, "Trust me on this. You don't want that. It sucks." On paper, the idea sounds great. In execution... ;;;;; not so much.

Related to the anti question: The localization is also to blame for so many younger people and antis swarming the twst circles. The JP game is marketted as joseimuke and the target group are specifically adult women. The localization, after dumbing everything down and making characters speak like the cringiest side of Tiktok, decided 3+ is a good enough age rating and then changed it to 13+ or wherever it is right now after getting mocked relentlessly for thinking 3+ was a good idea. 13+ is still far too young and it sadly leads to a lot of younger and more immature people being in the fandom.

Oh my god, fucking 3+… And 13+ isn’t much better. The entire rating system is kind of weird when you think about it: simply because there isn’t any nudity or sexual themes or gore, it doesn’t mean that the game is perfectly fit for 13 year olds. But this is its own whole can of worms that I’m not touching with a 5 feet pole…

But yeah, unfortunately immaturity really is a big issue :(

THIS IS SUCH A BIG ISSUE AAAH because they always use those words to grab your attention, but then out of 10 callout posts about groomers you’ll have 5 posts about someone drawing a problematic ship, 3 posts about someone just talking to someone once, 1 post that is just a straight-up lie and maybe 1 post about an actual predator that people should either block or report. Not only it clogs the report system with irrelevant stuff and distracts from real and very serious cases, it completely desensitises people to the point when their first thought when they see a callout post is “I’m not even going to waste my time reading this, I’m 95% sure this is bs”.

I am very tired of it, so I understand, Anon.

Thank god Idia gives us food to think about these things with his crush on his online buddy lol I’m going to base my thoughts on their interactions.

First and foremost, for someone who isn’t very social, Idia really loves it when he can share his interests with someone. I say it every time, but quality time is one of the most important things for Idia, so if a person listened to a song he’d sent or if he is fun to play with, it’s going to win a lot of points for Idia. And Idia probably senses fakeness in this type of stuff, so he needs someone who is going to be genuinely invested in a game; just like Lilia, Azul or Ortho are.

He also loves determined, strong-willed people who take things into their own hands. Idia is kind of passive and hates being someone who initiates things, so his perfect partner would have to do the heavy lifting when it comes to this side of their relationship. I don’t know about appearance, but I feel like Idia is kind of drawn to tall and mature men that are on the bigger side, he is kind of into this whole fantasy of Crimson Muscle being older than him, which is super ironic considering that at least 3 of his potential lovers are significantly smaller than him (Ortho, Lilia, Azul), and two of them are also younger than him. Not sure of Idia has a thing for this type, it’s probably just a funny coincidence, but it could be a bone in Idia’s body that gets pleasantly tickled because of the fact that he’s being topped by someone as tiny and adorable as they are. Well, not sure if he considers Azul tiny or adorable, but he certainly thinks that he has a pretty face.

Body-wise, the Tweels are probably the closest to what Idia would envision if he was cringe enough to fantasize about having sex with someone which he absolutely doesn’t do because that would be too pathetic and typical for a shut-in otaku loser like him ha ha ha ha ha. Seriously though, he probably doesn’t think about these things, also because he’s never thought that he would be a bottom in a sexual scenario, but if we forced Idia to pick the most attractive body out of all of these people, there is a chance that he would have picked the Tweels.

As for the big NOPEs…. The majority of people are big NOPEs for Idia lol

Ironically, the Tweels are a HUUUGE NOPE because they’re scary. Idia actively avoids them because he knows they are up to no good, and he would never consider any type of relationship with them.

He always complains about extraverts, but they would balance him out surprisingly well. But still, in theory this is a big no-no, in particular because they always have a lot of friends and the thought itself makes Idia feels a bit jealous and lonely. Plus, he considers them obnoxious lol Even though Ortho is an extravert.

He also doesn’t like nosy people who criticise him and don’t understand his hobbies and life philosophies. Azul nags on him, but he is surprisingly good at giving him his space, maybe because he knows that this is just how Idia operates and there is nothing he can do about it.

Idia also hates sporty people, active people, reckless people, people with a stick up their butts… He has a lot of opinions about every single NRC student and why they would be horrible to date lol

No worries, Anon, I like talking about Idia a lot as you might’ve noticed lol

It’s probably ironic considering just how many people we ship him with, but I feel like Idia doesn’t even consider having sex as something that might at some point happen to him. His mindset is “I’m a lonely otaku shut-in and I don’t want to be around people, but it’s okay if I stay a virgin because sex is overrated”. It doesn’t mean that he doesn’t want to have sex, he just doesn’t think that it’s an option and he is okay with it… One-night-stand just sounds isn’t as stressful as building a relationship with someone, but it’s still stressful af and very cringy, so he wouldn’t do it “unless he’s 50 and desperate”. But who knows, maybe his circumstances change…

To answer your first question, yes, on paper, he has to be very close to a person to even think about these things. But that’s on paper, in actuality (and this is the scenario for our art and posts a lot of times) sex could just happen to him suddenly because the tension got too strong and; and then Idia would suddenly feel himself overflowing with his suppressed urges. “I have to have a super strong connection with someone to sleep with them” and “I will probably never have sex” are irrelevant when Idia is being touched and feels every single sensation and feeling at once. Out of all of the guys we ship him with, I feel like the only one he would think about having sex with prior to that happening is Lilia (his online self of course), but even then this thought is just cringy delusional cope in Idia’s own opinion.

With foreplay, it’s kinda tricky. I think Idia is someone who would prefer to get it over with, to have sex already, to hurry his lover up, because foreplay feels too overwhelming and embarrassing. But his body craves much more attention that Idia is ready to let anyone give to it, so he would probably enjoy being petted, kissed, even edged, and his own embarrassment always dances on a fine line between ruining Idia’s mood because of the anxiety of it all and making him much hornier because embarrassment is arousing.

As for getting him in the mood, he is way too sensitive and his body is way too responsive, so a lot of times just grabbing and touching him works wonderfully… except when he is very busy gaming, because nothing can stand between him and his game. 🎵What would Bobo's favorite song be?

I'd say it's the first song she heard from Baentu, which I give a little snippet in Baentu's ref. Gosh I still need to set something up before I feel like I can share Baentu. Which so far is mostly resting on me actually designing the man-eating beasts in the Mycelind Kingdom but I just haven't yet. (I think it's mostly because finding the refs I want takes longer now as I have to consider if what I'm looking at it ai-generated or not.)

I only have a few words of the song as I'm not musically-inclined. My idea being behind it that it's a heartbreak song but Baentu's aludes to it not really being one, just a bit of poking fun at love songs, break up songs, and such as Baentu's aroace. Don't know if I can actually get that idea across if I ever do attempt to write the lyrics. Which would be all I'd be able to do, I can only roughly read sheet music. I'm thinking it would be in the rock/metal genre with some screamo elements. (Keep in mind my grasp of music genres is kind of weak.)

🕑 What time does Bobo generally wake up at?

I actually still haven't figured out her schedule- I want to be wild and say 4 am but really I should plan out what her schedule usually looks like so I can have an actual answer.

Okay I penned up a rough idea of what her schedule could be and I hope it's not realistic and that I can fine-tune it because I have it suggesting to me that Bobo does wake up at 4am and goes to bed around 11pm. Which would be roughly 5 hours of sleep... which again we pulling into the fantasy/videogame logics as how can someone survive years of so little sleep? Adults are supposed to get at least 8 hours of sleep (unless they have lucky genetics) and anyone younger tends to need more sleep than that.

I know she's going to have several different schedules for different days too as I didn't cover international affairs, working out, fight practice, time to visit Baentu, and such. Actually I should try figuring out what all the government official positions would be and that might help me better fine-tune her schedules. I know I have ideas for their being councils to handle certain parts of the government.

Twst Bobo should take advantage of her situation and let herself get more sleep but she doesn't want to struggle with fixing her schedule if she ever does get back home. Plus she can use all the free time for studying (like geez Grim and MC must have terrible grades as surely it's like them skipping middle school and going straight to high school) and for getting to try things she never had time for before. Like woodcarving, painting, and with some outside encouragement, video games.

So uh, tldr: Bobo has a habit of waking up at 4 am.

💢 What's one thing that's sure to piss off Bobo?

Poking fun of the people from her kingdom. Trying to suggest that her kingdom isn't made up of humans or that they're all freaks. Along with just not taking the threats her kingdom faces all that seriously. Calling her a child, immature, someone incapable of running a kingdom. Also just disrespecting boundaries, whether that be her own or the others' around her. She's also a sore loser.

For example, Twst Bobo will snap if someone won't stop trying to touch her face. Most likely this type of provocation will cause her to physically lash out, whether that just be slapping a hand away or trying to squeeze someone's fingers with the idea to break them before snapping out of it. I know already that when it comes to VDC, Bobo cries out of anger that NRC loses. She's quite loyal so despite thinking the song Vil commissioned is generic and lame, that's her team! Bobo then holds a grudge against Neige, but I can't see her actually lashing out at him as he's depicted as so nice. So she'd probably just come off as grumpy in Neige's presence.

Basically Bobo has a temper that can flare up when it comes to pitting herself and those she cares about against something/someone else. Otherwise she tends to be able to keep it under control. If her temper breaks, she's usually able to reclaim control over herself rather quick. Usually she attempts to deal with her anger when she works out. Sometimes she gets way too invested in competitions and losing will upset her greatly.

💔 Have they ever experienced heartbreak?

Well I do have it planned than in her adult years that she'll probably have a few failed relationships, so I would think that counts? So she never really experienced any in her childhood. The closest she got in childhood was having a little kid crush on a rock-metal idol. Which of course didn't progress further than that. Though I suppose that just covers romantic heartbreak. I've usually only heard heartbreak when speaking of romantic feelings.

She was definitely heartbroken when her parents suddenly died when she was just eight-years-old. I think I have heard heartbreak being used in terms of familial bonds. Bobo had nightmares for quite a while when they died and actually couldn't sleep without a couple of plushies too. I haven't decided if the plushies are bats or goats. Eventually she did stop having nightmares but it took a little longer for her to no longer need the plushies to be able to fall asleep.

🧭 How easily can they find their way? Do they get lost easily?

That's a bit of a tough one to answer. Bobo does like to explore when she can, but she's grown up with tech that she's never had to worry about not having a signal. Tech that's set up to alert guards to her last location if it were to die or something were to go wrong. It's hard to say she can get lost when her kingdom's version of a phone/tablet can easily guide her back.

I do want to say she won't get lost all that easily as she has a rather great memory. So she takes notes of certain landmarks to give her a vague idea of the path she's taking and thus can backtrack if needed. Though if she were to fall somewhere with no easy way back up, then Bobo could possibly get lost. Especially easier for her to get lost if everything looks the same. With her eyesight, landmarks are usually certain glowing mushrooms and/or something that stands out in color.

💡 What's an idea that they once had that made others go "That's not gonna work," but it still worked?

I have several ideas and points for what Bobo's life may be like, mostly her childhood, but I haven't thought out too many specific stories. So I don't know if she's ever had a crazy plan that worked out. I feel like characters that are able to pull off wild stunts are usually ones that think outside of the box and/or not considered someone who thinks rationally/reasonably.

I'd like to think Bobo is quite reasonable. Even if she were to give an idea that causes others to doubt, she'd likely explain it until others can see what she sees. Also she likes to have others understand any of her plans so they can help correct any bits or give better ideas if they have them. If it is a wild idea that others may doubt, she might not even give others a chance to hear what the idea is.

Like the only one I can think of that counts would be the alt-route I wrote for Twst's Phantom Bride event. Bobo wasn't confident her idea would work, but she was certain that at the very least it could buy them all more time.

Wait, do you guys even know the story of HetaOni?

My God, it has been over a decade, hasn't it? Anyway, HetaOni is basically an Ao Oni au for Axis Powers Hetalia. But, like, instead of a fic, it is a RPGMaker game.

I'm assuming y'all know what Ao Oni and Hetalia are. Also, we're talking about the original HetaOni not the fanmade continuations

But HetaOni actually has a story, differently from Ao Oni, and the story has actually a really good premise. Or maybe I'm the only one who thinks that. But, basically, the guys all go inside this one ~mysterious mansion~ in the middle of the woods (always a good idea) to investigate.

Problem is: there are monsters. And everyone dies, except for Italy Veneziano (AKA North Italy, AKA Hetalia's titular character (hetare + Itália = Hetalia)), who escapes alone. After a very understandable breakdown, Italy uses this magic notebook to turn back in time, all the way back to when they first entered the mansion, so he can save everyone.

Which would be already a very interesting plot, but then it gets better when game tells us that the loop we are playing is not that second loop, and, in fact, we don't even know which loop it is. Moreover, it seems the only certain way to save everyone is for Italy to die, which no one wants.

Once he reveals the time travel, there's a very touching scene where they all sign a contract using their human names, where they all promise to leave together alive (they're countries, for them to appeal to their humanity is considered something huge cuz it is an aspect of them they have a complicated relationship with).

Then England uses his slowly recovering magic (England has magic, by the way) to send people back in time to correct errors so they don't have to start another loop. They find out he dies of magic overuse and England decides to... Overuse his magic to try and kill the creature. He fails and ends up blind but hey, still alive!

Then Italy gets trapped in a void, and then meets Holy Roman Empire (his childhood friend/sweetheart who went to war and never returned (technically he did, he just became Germany but neither know it)). That's the end because the game was never finished.

But, yeah, I think it'd be a very fun idea to place the twst boys in

so yeah about self insert- ahahaha after such a time-

basically I partly save the ingame plot, but instead of coming from another world I was picked as a student by mistake (therefore my origin is Twisted Wonderland). so, basically I was somehow misgendered and my speciality wrongly assumed, so that's why the magic mirror couldn't see anything. but somewhat at chapter 3 an all-girls block was given to Crowley's headmastery, and there is when I was seen my the mirror.

so, there goes my fan dorm where I was sorted - Dilvestria, based of the Forest Witch's (Baba Yaga) patronage. Basically a dorm where many witches sustain strong natural magic and are number one druids and ritualistic mages.

and yes, it is based on slavic character! I know it's not Disney, but we have lots of cool cartoons involving Baba Yaga that would catch the disney vibe

For me, I actually have two TWST!Sadie’s. One that’s basically Yuu!Sadie and Disomnia!Sadie (more of a “what if” I was actually from twst. I’d 90% be Disomnia, maybe??? Heartsaybul). I use Yuu!Sadie more often than not (mostly cause that’s the “default” for x reader stuff), but it’s fun to play around with a TWST reader

Ah another Azul Stan/Simp! Well met ^_^ might I ask if you have any tumblrs/AO3s that you recommend for good Azul or even Tweed fics? I'm in the midst of writing one-with a good few chapters out-and am looking for inspiration/ other perspectives

Frankly, I’m very picky about Twst fanfics, so much so that I don’t really pick up on them. In general, for Twst fics, I recommend @advernia and @hunting-season because the way they think as they write their ideas is so beautiful. It’s pretty different from the typical yume content you see in the general fandom space, which I really appreciate, and they really touch on the canon while weaving it into their art.

There’s another fanfic author that I like called @zgvlt . They’re very famous for their long one-shots, and I really really aspire to write as well as they do. Their style draws in a lot of people due to its colloquial writing, something that I really want to be able to do. 😭 And even if their scenarios use common tropes in the fandom, it’s very clear that they’ve thought deeply on how a character would interact with or react to a situation without letting too much bias cloud their vision. I know they’ve done a Sebek and Jade oneshot. This one Azul fic they did is to die for, though. It takes the common “Azul overthinks his first date with you” trope, but it really pokes and prods at Azul’s way of looking at life. Tell me to judge the characterization, and I will be able to connect several lines in that fic to actual card lines Azul said in the game and say, “OP really studied him”. Highly recommended read. Now if only I can remember who’s this lovely person. 🤠

There is also this really wonderful tweels/Azul fic written back when Octavinelle came out in JP. I highly recommend it because I think OP has one of the best ways of writing Floyd.

When it comes to writing Octavinelle, I want you to keep in mind to balance their character traits. It is so common to see people lean to one way when it comes to the three of them: Azul’s crybaby vs. capitalist sides, Jade’s mushroom loving vs. sadistic sides, Floyd’s moody (often perceived to be cute) vs. feral sides. Yes, every character needs to have that balance, but Octavinelle especially is boxed into one character trait or another, which are often two extremes, when they can have both traits. It’s not that Azul being a crybaby suddenly means all semblance of confidence has and always will be faked—no, Azul can have both the confidence and stride and the sensitivities that he tries to hide. Jade can both be the boy who cares about his friends and his plants and the boy who haunts everyone’s dreams. Floyd can be moody, but he’s also both a mad genius and a really honest person. I especially want to emphasize on the latter because it’s thanks to Floyd that we even have a lot of details regarding past Azul and Jade. 😭

If you’re really stuck on how either of them would react a certain way, go back to the canon. Read their stories and card lines. A single line already communicates their mindsets and therefore gives you an idea on how they would react to something.
