"What's your name?" Darius asks offhandedly while reading the newspaper, as Allison is setting the table.

"No... I suppose you're not, your old name is unimportant by now anyways, as it's not like you need to listen to it anymore" Darius seems even more amused, smirking, and he pats the top of their head, leaving Allison to their thoughts and the panicked realization that they don't seem to remember anything from their life before meeting him.

Can I just say that spiderverse has done such a good job with characterization and character driven storytelling and relationship building that there's just SO many interesting ships? Even though the pacing is so fast the films still took time to spend on each of the spiderpeople (and spideranimals) enough so that character dynamics are interesting IN TEXT. like there's no extrapolation or fandom accepted headcanons needed to start, yk?
They didn't just assume that people would ship miles/gwen because they're the main m and f leads. They spent time building that dynamic and relationship and it may be clear that they'll eventually end up together (hopefully) but they didn't just let us assume that. They still put effort into convincing us. And then I also love that even with such a big cast a lot of the side characters also had dynamics with other side characters, something that can be hard to add in at the right amount.
Like we get the feeling that Gwen admires Hobie and is friendly enough to Pav that she talked about Miles with him (they totally had sleepovers and painted eachothers nails and discussed boyfriends and girlfriends) and generally agrees with Peter B.
And hobie is, of course, looking out for everyone he cares about, goofy with Pav, supportive but not overprotective of Gwen, is honestly trying his best to stick up for Miles. Even in the first one even though most time is spent fleshing out Peter B's story, the other spideys interact with eachother and generally don't just act as one homogeneous blob of background characters.
The only dynamics there's nothing for are the ones who haven't met on screen yet. Every other relationship isn't overlooked and there's something to go off of for the shippers. Honestly I'm not really a multishipper but spiderverse has so many good options lol

Tribute, Victor, Rebel by Shouting_at_God_in_Latin: What I really like about this one is that it does a great job of fleshing out the world of District 4. Finnick is the narrator but he doesn't feel like the center of the universe, he feels like a small part of a big, rich world. Personally I really appreciate this because that's something I have trouble doing when I write, so this could be a great one to check out if you're interested in how D4 and Panem operate.
The Sugar Cube Castle by Brilli_Ant: This one takes place during Annie's Games and is from her POV. It has an interesting dynamic because Annie and her district partner were friends before the Games, and of course there is the dramatic irony of Annie trying to figure out what Finnick's up to.
Golden Children by roxal04: This one is from Mags' POV and it offers a unique perspective on the war and on Finnick and Annie's relationship. It's a one-shot but it's pretty long, so this could be a good read if you're in the mood for something different.
some things last by fillorianravenclaw: This one alternates between Finnick and Annie's POV, so you get to see both sides of the story. It takes places during Annie's Games and I think it's well written and conveys Annie's thoughts and feelings well. It has another interesting dynamic between Annie and her district partner, which definitely makes things engaging.
Older
The Harvest by BeesKnees: This is an AU in which the rebellion fails. It's tragic but the ending is hopeful. I've read this multiple times and I've been on the edge of my seat each time. It's a pretty unique AU in my opinion, so it might not be what you're looking for, but I really enjoy it. This author has many odesta works that I love so be sure to check out the rest of their works if you haven't already!
I'll drown before your very eyes by ToshiChan: This is a beautiful and heartbreaking one-shot that deals with Finnick's trauma after the war. I will warn you that it is very sad but the ending is hopeful, so I found it to be a realistic depiction of what the victors' futures would look like.
Victorious-Rebellious by sabaceanbabe: This is a compelling AU in which the rebellion fails so Finnick and Annie start their own. It's a series that I really like, and I've found that sabaceanbabe does a great balance between romantic moments and engaging plot/action scenes. Also go check out their other work if you haven't done so, I really love it!
Valor, Valeria by aimmyarrowshigh: This is a beautiful one-shot that I read about three years ago and have been in love with ever since. It draws parallels between Finnick and Gale and shows how ultimately corrupt Panem is. I honestly can't believe I haven't mentioned this one yet lol.

scaramouche is furious. he can feel it, the rage coursing through his veins of electricity and the way lightning crackles at his fingertips. this very realisation only serves to anger him further, forcing him to confront the knowledge he does his best to ignore; he is but a poor caricature of his creator at best.

and he hates it. he hates her. this is all her fault. it makes him feel even worse that he is resorting to pinning the blame on her like some foolish child. but it's true, isn't it? he wouldn't even be here, shaped from fragments of her grief and desire and the very thread which ties inazuma together, if it wasn't for her. he wouldn't have to suffer betrayal after betrayal if it wasn't for her.
and yet he loves it, oh, scaramouche loves her. how long can he keep lying to himself like this? how many times can he tell himself that he despises her, he loathes her, he abhors her for creating him and then tossing him aside like some child growing bored of a worthless plaything. some nights he wakes up from a memory, or perhaps a fantasy, of her combing through his long hair while humming a soft tune – there are always tears staining his cheeks and a dull ache in the left side of his chest on nights like those. because the truth is, he misses her so much it disgusts him.
scaramouche's deepest secret is that he just wants her to see him. he yearns for her to view him as more than what he was meant to be, as a fully fleshed person with his own agency even if said flesh was stolen from her to be cloaked with a new skin and gifted with a new name. he has tried so very hard to get her attention, he has tried taking over her own nation, for archon's sake, and yet she still would not spare him even a glance. he doesn't know what else he can do. but he also doesn't know what he would do if she ever did give him that which he clandestinely craves.
scaramouche convinces himself that he would yell, he would scream, that he would take all these ugly messy awful emotions swirling around in his hollow chest and just throw them at her. perhaps the sharpness of his words would cut through her cold exterior like a verbal imitation of musou no hitotachi. but he knows he might not be able to say anything. he knows he might just crumble under her indigo gaze, and he hates it. he hates the fact that his creator can still bring him to his knees like the puppet and puppeteer they should have been.
what scaramouche hates the most, though, is the fact that he cannot bring himself to say even one of her many names. raiden shogun, ei, baal. too many times he has had dreams, or perhaps nightmares, of him whispering her name and her coming to comfort him, to hold his hand and walk beside him like the mother and son they should have been. but he buries those ideals deep within him, locks them up in the darkest recesses of his heart and mind, refuses to acknowledge them, all because scaramouche is the sixth harbinger of the fatui and he fears nothing. he tells himself that so many times he thinks he almost starts to believe it.
but sometimes, on nights where storm clouds roll over the horizon and the echo of thunder booms in his ears, scaramouche can't lie to himself any longer. perhaps all him and his mother were ever destined to be were wretched mirrors of what they could've, would've, should've been to each other.

MARIA AURORA FLORES.
starting off with my main girl, my pride & joy, my sunshine incarnate. i write maria as someone very warm & with a whole mess of love to shower on those she cares about. she is achingly sweet, doting, affectionate; she adores her friends, adores her mama & sister, has a complicated relationship with her father. i've done quite a bit to flesh her out beyond what gun's put out for her in the slightest & i love where she's grown over the months since adding her onto the roster. she is my main / primary muse -- so know i constantly yap and ramble about her, i have headcanons and lore posts sprinkled all over the blog & the archived blog. i love & adore her as a muse and she's become both incredibly special to me & easily one of my absolute favorite characters to write as. that being said, with how much i've added to her, i view my portrayal of her as more oc at this point than a character of gun -- unfridged my girl, yanked her away from them and took off with her lmao alot of what i've built with her was both greatly helped by the dynamics weaved together with my affiliates / mains' portrayals which i'll get to later on ♡ but know some things may not carry over into interactions between my maria & any duplicates of my affiliates' muses!

i haven't gone through much writing for ana yet -- but know when i do speak of ana in a general sense on here? i am specifically referring to my own ana & my personal flores' family lore! if i refer to other ana's in future posts i'll most likely note so either by, for example, ' renee's ana ' or if its to that point in plotting, then with a dynamics tag on the post! otherwise assume when i'm yapping about ana in general i'm referring to my own portrayal of her by default! c: ( note that all you cute ana mutuals are still more than welcome to interact with posts about her / her & maria / the flores' ♡ just something to keep in mind if i refer to her in a general sense in posts! )

DANNY ALEJO - OSORIO.
ya'll may know our just some guy danny by gun's canon of him -- danny gaines. the danny here however is technically my own portrayal of danny gaines that i developed before he was officially dropped & we got his last name. should i interact with others writing danny gaines? i'm completely gucci with considering my danny & gaines as entirely separate characters! otherwise, the speedrun of my danny is as follows : danilo alejo-osorio is mexican-colombian, befriended maria in their early teens. he comes from a broken family with a very fractured & a.busive father, his mother returned to colombia and started another family there believing he'd have a better life staying in the states. he went through a very rough period hanging with a real shitty crowd of so-called friends, got into a shitton of fights, broke into homes and businesses with them, stole shit, broke shit, just in general not great influences. a break-in went wrong, his "friends" scattered, and he was arrested when the police showed up, and spent time in juvie for it. none of those friends ever came by. his father didn't, none of his family did. maria, her mother and ana, instead, were his constant visitors. and it was her coming to see him, her encouragement and push for him to do better is what finally made him realize he needed to turn his shit around. at the point of maria going missing & the house, danny's going to trade school by the southern coast for ship & underwater welding courses & training. he & maria are best friends. he is her ride, die, kill. gun noted once upon a time how strong dannys' devotion to her is -- my danny is very much devoted to her. he would kill for her without hesitation -- and not in his dire au's, even, but just in general. danny would do anything for those he cares about. any of the friendgroup. my danny is gaines but stronger - thanks for coming to my t.ed talk. THE FLORES FAMILY.
my personal take / lore is as follows basically : papa flores ( ramón ignacio ) & mama flores ( carmen ainara ) were long-term sweethearts whose marriage and little family seemed perfectly ideal. however, the closer that their eldest daughter, maria, got to her teen years, the sicker carmen started to become. she attempted to keep it under wraps, hush-hush from the girls' to not worry or scare them. but she was diagnosed with a lung disease ( p.ulmonary f.ibrosis fingerguns @ silver for same braincell lmao ) that is considered ( esp in the 70s likely ) to be terminal. while the girls' weren't aware of her being ill to that degree, ramon fully was. and the stress of coming to terms with his wife being sick and finding out that she may eventually pass due to it, so he claims, "caused" him to start an affair. carmen does find out, and ramon removes himself from the flores' family home to move in with his affair partner. maria, being forgiving and more gentle-hearted compared to ana, attempted to still paint him in a positive light so that ana wouldn't resent him. tried to give him the benefit of the doubt -- that he at least still did love them all. that he'd keep the promises to still be active in their lives, still show up when he said he would -- however, there's only so many excuses, so many promises broken, so many calls never ringing through, before that hope crumbles. ana would witness both her mother & maria deal with their fathers' heartbreak through closed bedroom doors, and it'd only make her despise him more for it. when maria later goes missing, ramon returns to try and help in whatever ways he can -- and ana is very unreceptive to him being there. he lost his chance in her eyes to play "dad" to them. and she makes it known clearly to him how much she resents him and reminds him he's got no place in their family, anymore. that he's there ONLY to help find maria and not to expect shit from any of them.

THE HEWITTS & THE SAWYERS.
by default, i say a giant fuck you to the difference in continuity's when it comes to the family! i write the hewitt's as an extension of the sawyer ( or, slaughter ) family tree. the hewitts & sawyers connected when luda mae married charlton hewitt sr. luda, in my personal canon, was born into the family through one of grandpa sawyers' many kids' he's taken in over his long-fuckin'-ass lifespan lmao alot of the family dynamics that are my canon here stem from lamb & i's back & forths. i find blending the various iterations of the family -- from originals to remakes etc -- as all just extended families to each other alot easier to work around and opens the door to more interactions with canons' from other versions of tcsm! c: i'm currently slow-piecing together a family tree of the hewitt-sawyers based on that blended concept. to the sawyers, luda is referred to by aunt or grandma ( sometimes ma luda, even ) and thomas is referred to as cousin tommy.

i was going to make this its own post but i'll add to this one instead. but with the idea of the hewitts & sawyers being just on massive family unit? of course there's the question of how the fuck do both thomas & bubba ( or other iterations of LF ) work then? i'd argue its primarily due to the fact that those who don't personally know them both don't know their actual names, and simply refer to them by the most notable feature -- the masks. with my thomas, yes, he does take faces of victims and he does wear them. however. thomas' skin condition -- flesh-eating disease / tumor growths on his face -- is why he wears his animal-leather half-mask. that half mask is his primary mask. he is almost always wearing that or varying versions of it. when thomas DOES skin someones' face to wear? it is almost always out of rage. hatred. it's done to intimidate. to unsettle. its from back in september but, one of my thomas' replies to kels notes this about thomas! the masks of both animal & human leather are still very much a part of thomas as i write him -- but, when it comes to the hewitt-sawyers being one family unit & thomas & bubba co-existing? "l.eatherface" becomes a title in a sense -- two giant motherfuckers who wear masks?? they get confused for one another. despite thomas being arguably much larger both being beefy & being 6'9 compared to bubba. they both don't really stray far from home. how often do outsiders get a chance to see them both separately let alone close to one another? likely not a common sight. it'd be very easy to spot one of them and then assume they are one in the same, honestly. that's how i go about things here, at least! it ties into more, again, of the back-&-forths lamb & i have minecrafted especially but, i'm all for altering that for specific interactions for those who don't want to meddle with all of that! (:

i am not going to be shipping maria in any romantic / intimate sense nor am i open to any prolonged captive plots & interactions with other portrayals of johnny sawyer. those types of dynamics & interactions i've decided from this point on to close that for my maria to lamb's johnny ( @johnnysslaughter ) ♡ there has been a lot of plotting & build up between my portrayal of maria & lamb's portrayal of johnny and their varying dynamics across verses / au's and their different trajectories. and because of how many different iterations of their dynamic has been pieced together, i personally am not going to be taking other plots / dynamics with other johnny's that fall under the same umbrella as the dynamic between our maria & johnny do -- again meaning, i personally won't be shipping romantically / intimately nor will I take on plots that run parallel to cold case / no one saved you re: maria being taken captive for a prolonged period of time with other johnnys. alot of this decision on my part is very much due to how much we have developed them together -- another big part of it is my trust & comfort level with lamb to explore those dynamics between maria & johnny. this doesn't mean we are exclusive to one anothers' portrayals -- i am happy to write with other johnny's! and lamb is welcome to interact with other maria's! but from this point onward, i will only ship maria & johnny with lamb. ♡

Hmm, I wouldn't exactly trust myself answering this question exactly, but I can give some of my current insight on the dynamics. A lot of this will continue to be fleshed out as I write the "romance" tinted scenes. (I'm also not certain about what exactly you are looking for so hopefully my answer helps!) (I'm also going to try not to spoil much in these answers, but all the same they could give insights that you don't get with the game and by extension spoil certain things. You have been warned.)
Everix: Everix is very caring, in a soft way, preferring subtle gestures and displays of affections. They have a noble upbringing and some traditional views on relationships as a result, reigning in their emotion as most nobles are taught to do. More specific to the MC, the rune that gives them power over the MC unsettles them quite a lot. Furhermore, the situation the MC is in Everix sympathizes with quite a lot. They worry for the MC and see themself in them (at least at the start). The exact details of how the relationship will be a little up in the air depending on the MC. Any same sex relationships will furthermore be Everix's first relationship of that type and will be addressed.
Hayes: Hayes is a lot more forward with their intentions, preferring to "live a little" while they still can. They, like Everix, have a noble upbringing, yet buck against most of the decorum they were taught, but not necessarily the "keep your emotions in check" part. While Hayes may be quick to flirt with people and even enjoy one-night stand type relationships, they do not actually open up any more then that (at least haven't in their past). For their relationship/attraction to the MC, they are interested in the thrill that pursuing the MC gives them. The fear they experience around the MC brings something to their attraction that is different from the other people Hayes has had interest in. Hayes themself is a very physical person, showing affection through touch, both platonically and romantically. A lot of how Hayes will address their fears and desires for the MC will come later as the relationship develops.
Sam: Sam completely avoids emotional attachment to people and has since the MC was imprisoned. (This goes doubly so for a Sam that the MC admitted they loved romantically in the past). It will take a lot for the MC to get Sam to be willing to open up, let alone actually commit to a relationship. As the MC can learn, Sam has never been in a relationship (outside of a possible one with the MC). As you might be able to glean, Sam before the MC's imprisonment was fiery, passionate and a overbearing optimist and in their past possible relationship Sam would've been eager to do just about anything with the MC, as long as they did it together. But if that Sam will return is a mystery.
Quinn: Quinn has very different approaches to relationships then the other characters. Mainly stemming from her species. Being an Estriel, she outlives most of the other mortals around her and since she has chosen to leave her home she rarely associates with other Estriel. This of course has made it so that she doesn't truly connect with those she dates or gets with. At least not openly, most of the time hiding her true feelings or masking them, to attempt to save herself later. This was the case with Morganna's parents, despite the fact she did care for them a lot, she knew that they'd die long before she did, so tempered her own feelings for them. With the MC, she sees opportunity. The MC being something she has dedicated her life so far to studying, spending as much time with and learning as much as she can about the MC is something she wants. She is more then willing to enter a relationship with the MC to learn more. But at the same time, while it hasn't been proven, Quinn hypothesizes that Corruptants are immortal, so potentially she wouldn't need to temper her feelings towards them.
Maverick: Growing up surrounded by "family" in the cult cell he was in, isolated Maverick from a proper experience surrounding all things relationship. Add onto the alienation he faced due to his visions and status in the cult and Maverick has absolutely zero experience and similar levels of knowledge on dealing with feelings of attraction. The Cult's "sex-ed" is unsurprisingly not really focused on and thus Maverick is partly unaware of how/why he feels a lot of the way he feels. Mavericks own quiet and anxious personality don't really help him when it comes to admitting or addressing those feelings, and like Sam, a relationship with the MC will be the first/only one he has had up to the point. A lot of the relationship will be exploring that but even more specific to the MC is his worship/deification of the MC. Maverick will do basically whatever the MC says, but views the MC completely "untouchable"/out of his league. A romance with him will have to explore these types of themes.
Again, I'm not sure exactly about these types of things, and a lot of expansion will come when I write the scenes. Hopefully this answered your question!
I'll also add that while this story has character interaction and will have more romance, it is not a romance story, so I apologize in advance if I'm not that good at writing that type of stuff.

The long awaited bj one shot that I've been working on and off since October.
This became more than intended and I absolutely love how it turned out. There's plot, their relationship dynamic, and of course some smut. What originally started out as a 1700 word skeleton turned into a 2600 word fic that I'm extremely proud of! I haven't written anything this long in awhile. It feels good to know I can still accomplish something like this.

Havik let out a shaky breath. A lump had formed in his throat as warmth spread throughout his chest.
How could she still say these things? After everything he’s done. The people he’s killed. The asshole sorcerers he willingly helped to build literal machines to steal souls. Amongst all the other questionable shit he did for months to help Quan Chi. 
Why did she come back to him? Why didn’t she stay away when he forced her to leave?
“You shouldn’t want me, Cori. You deserve someone better.” His massive hands tangled in her inky black locks, holding her to him, breathing in her scent through his mangled nose. 
She deserves so much more than what he can give her. A better man that can give her anything she asks for.
And yet, his blood boiled at the mere thought of another man touching her.
“But I can’t let you go.” Despite his burning hatred of wanting to confine this tempting creature to him, he didn’t have the willpower to see her walk away. “Not again.”
“I’m not going anywhere.” Cori whispered, nudging her nose against his exposed cartilage. Half lidded eyes never leaving his. “Let me take your mind off of everything. Let me show you how much I need you.”

How to Edit Your Novel (Pt. 1)
If you haven't finished writing your first draft yet, feel free to save this for future use :) If you HAVE finished first drafting (BIG CONGRATS! That's a massive accomplishment, and I hope you're super proud of yourself ❤️ ), I really hope this helps you!
There's a lot to get into regarding editing, so this post will focus on more macro edits while part 2 will focus on micro edits.
Reread
In my opinion, one of the MOST IMPORTANT parts of editing is rereading your own book.
I highly recommend printing out your book into a physical copy. Generally, you can print out hundreds of pages at the copy or stationery shop (e.g. Staples), and then put them in a 3-ring binder.
For presets, I highly recommend at least 12 pt. font and DOUBLE-SPACED!!! This is so you can annotate easily DIRECTLY between lines on the paper while you're rereading. For me, I annotate with a red pen. The biggest things to focus on for a first reread are:
Plot + subplots! Example questions:
What things don't make sense?
What things don't you like?
(Spec fiction specific, mostly) Any worldbuilding issues, like no introduction to the cool fantasy gadgets, lore not matching up, or no logistical possibilities (e.g. how do gladiators in your book use modern flush toilets when the world is based on Ancient Rome?)?
Is anything too confusing?
Unnecessary scenes?
Issues with important plot beats (e.g. inciting incident too late, climax too early, etc. depending on how you want your story to flow)?
Characters! Example questions:
Is the development clear?
Are their personalities, motivations, and backstories fleshed out?
Do they have distinct voices that can be relatively easily distinguished in dialogue?
Are their names/appearances/personalities too similar, causing confusion?
Do you have too many or too few characters?
Are the character/group dynamics organic, significant to the plot, and enjoyable to read?
Other things to get picky with include:
tone, mood, voices, general atmosphere
prose issues like dialogue, description, etc.
plot discontinuities (e.g. John has blue eyes in Chapter 4, but in Chapter 6, he has green eyes)
grammar
Go in with your red pen and do whatever you want, as long as you can clearly read what you scribble. Let yourself go wild with *circle* "GRAMMAR ERROR!" or *underline* "STRANGE CHARACTER INTERACTION" or *large bracket spanning paragraph* "BAD SCENE!" Don't worry about making it look "aesthetic," just go for it in whichever way is most efficient for you.
However, for your first reread, or just an earlier one, focusing on the big picture things should be your first priority! Revision
After rereading, it's time to revise. Revision is the BIG PICTURE, GENERAL edit! Remember those issues that you found? Now, you're actively brainstorming how to fix them. This is not the REWRITING stage yet—that comes after!
Refer back to the list of questions above, and find solutions. I like to do this in a systematic method where I make a table (in this case, using Notion):

You can make this in any spreadsheet software, or even just create columns in a doc or on paper. I sort it by the ISSUE, SOLUTION IDEAS, TYPE OF ISSUE (e.g. character development, worldbuilding), and STATUS (done?).
Of course, doing this in a linear fashion is also fine, where you directly go down the chronological plot order. However, I would suggest separately brainstorming for each issue before you begin this step.
For example:
ISSUE: Heist is too easy and underwhelming
IDEAS:
Increased number of trained security personnel + improved tech (e.g. city hired guards who were former thieves themselves, security cameras, classic laser beams protruding from walls, a door with more locks and a very hard constitution)
In the thief group, more tension between each other -> harder for them to all cooperate and coordinate, leading to some things going wrong
Decreased competence of certain thieves, or just careless mistakes (e.g. tripping, coughing because of dust and attracting attention, not scaling a wall properly, etc.)
After you comb through all the issues like this (or however much effort each issue warrants), you'll find yourself at the REWRITING step! We'll cover that next time :)

I used to dread revising, especially after I'd finished the first draft of my first novel, but now, I quite like the process :) Yesterday, I just finished re-plotting an improved version of my story after LOTS of revising through 4 drafts! i never thought of stan/tweek before but you got me hella interested in the dynamic.. /pos
ahem...allow me to explain my lore behind this ship-
So I started shipping Steek not long after I joined the SP fandom, it was completely be accident if I'm being honest. I was trying to come up with a Stan-centric fic idea that would be based off the You're Getting Old/Assburgers episodes because I thought those episodes were really good and I love Stan!
I knew I wanted to make it a ship fic but I didn't know who to ship him with. When I first joined the fandom the only Stan ship I really knew about was Style but I didn't want to write it as a Style fic which left me searching for another Stan ship to use and I admittedly went to whatever Stan x Tweek was.
I went straight to Tweek because he's my favorite character but I didn't know anything about Steek, I didn't even know if it was a thing. So I did some research about it and found that there was some content out there but not a lot. The idea I came up with was pretty cute in my opinion and I'll link the two versions I have of the fic in case you haven't read them yet but would like to.
As I continued to dive further into the fandom and more specifically Steek, the ship quickly became my OTP which brings me to today where I can not shut up about them. They are literally all I think about and they bring me so much joy that all I want to do is create more content for them.
I can't decide whether I'm shocked or not that more people don't consider Stan and Tweek. The people that I've come across that don't like the ship usually dislike it for two reasons. The first reason is because they don't like the idea of shipping Tweek with anyone other than Craig which you can't really do anything about because haters are going to hate.
The second reason I've seen is because canon-wise Stan wasn't exactly the nicest to Tweek so people think he would be too mean to Tweek. Personally, I completely disagree with that. Sure Stan is a little shit and there were times when he was a little hard on Tweek but so was Kyle and yet I see a lot of Twyle content out there. There were also times where Stan was nice to Tweek like when he said he liked him better than he liked Butters (although I don't know if that's saying much) or when he tried to assure Tweek that things would be okay when Tweek didn't make enough paper hats in Free Hat.
Also, in seasons 2, 3 and 6, the main 4 weren't really fleshed out that much (at least in my opinion but I know others feel the same way) so of course Stan is going to act like a little boy who's a jerk, that's basically what all the main kids were in the earlier seasons. Now we have more of a personality for him but we haven't been able to really see how that would work with Tweek.
Besides, you can't really go off of canon here because Stan and Tweek barely interact with each other. I feel like for most South Park ships you can't go off of canon except for little background moments or like two or three lines that two characters happen to exchange. I see a lot of people say how do people ship this? or they barely interact and it's more about what they could be rather than what they actually are, at least in my opinion.
And also, if they hate each other than why not have enemies to lovers Steek???
Also I'm not trying to say that anyone's opinions or invalid by pointing these reasons out. I myself have ships that I don't like but I know others do. Even though their reasoning for liking that ship may not appeal to me, I still respect those opinions so I hope that you will respect mine too!! I'm not trying to call anyone out lol 😊😊
The number one reason why I probably ship these two is because they are both my favorite SP characters, one being Tweek and two being Stan (sometimes I find them being tied though) but I DO think they would work well together.
They both seem to be more in touch with their emotions versus Craig and Kyle who are more in touch with their logical sides. Because of this, I feel like Stan and Tweek would understand each other pretty well. I can't imagine either of them being hard on each other or not listening to each other when they're having their issues because they both have experience with not being listened to (Stan with Kyle in You're Getting Old/Assburgers and Tweek in Put It Down, and also not being listened to by their parents). I feel like they could sympathize with each other because of that and even though they might get frustrated with one another, I think they would try their best to understand and help.
I also find that they seem to have a lot in common. They both seem to have a love for animals, they both seem to like music and they both like legos. I think those would be things that they would bond over and have fun together with.
I can see them fitting into a lot of relationship dynamics (going off of Pinterest lol). Again they could be enemies to lovers if you want both of them (or at least Stan) to be little pricks. I can see them both being little jerks that only like each other plus a select group of people. I can see them as the nerd x jock trop with both of them in either role but preferably jock Stan x nerd Tweek. I'm in LOVE with the idea of goth Stan x sweetheart Tweek, I saw this comic about it on Pinterest and I think it's the cutest thing I've ever seen. They DEFIENTLY fit the moon x sun dynamic! There's more but I can basically imagine them in any trope/dynamic, maybe it's because they can actually work together or maybe it's because I'm forcing it too much.
You probably shouldn't have sent me this ask if you were looking for a short reply because I will literally take any chance I get to go on a rant about these two! 😂😂 I just love Steek so much and I really wish more people would be open to it. I have seen a little surge in the content for the pairing, like there's a few fanfictions that have come out and I've seen some new artwork for them. I think there's a lot of people that are interested in the pairing or are at least open to it but not enough to engage themselves in the content, if that makes sense. That's why I've made it my goal to try and produce as much content for the ship as possible, the soul purpose being that I want more people to pay attention to them. Call me selfish I guess-

Who is your OC that is the most fleshed out? Anything you care to share about them? What is a small detail about them that you rarely think about?

Ooh, um... That's probably Meira Winchester, my Dean/Cas/Gabe baby who's the star of a (currently) four book series over on Ao3 XD
She's the only one of my Next Gen OCs that not only has a family, childhood trauma, and general personality traits, but also relatively well fleshed-out friends, hobbies, a favourite weapon, and a college degree. (Although, by that standard, my flame-retardant SmoAce baby would come in a pretty close second, but since I'm currently reworking her entire backstory, I'm not sure she really counts right now... I'm working on it XD)
Um... Most of what I want to share about her is already in the fic I'm writing, tbh XD Honestly, the thing I haven't talked about much yet that I really want to is her friends; Azura, Jack, and Lucy. Only Azura's been mentioned in the fic so far, but the four of them have become my babies, and I love their dynamic together so much (they all of them think they're the Only Sane Man, and they're all fucking wrong XD)
But, uhh... I suppose I think it's really interesting that Meira is... at least the third (possibly fourth or fifth) in a line of my OCs who are recklessly confident social butterfly daddy's girl eldest daughters who've been condemned for something out of their control and who end up in a queer-platonic polycule with their main friend group. I'm honestly not sure what that says about me as a writer or as a person, but it's gotta say something XD
(There's Meira Winchester, of course, Gol D. Morgana and Altaria Lokdon, and then also possibly Phoenix Halliwell and Jennifer Strange... and Wei Feihao probably counts once she recovers from the childhood trauma... possibly a few others who aren't really well fleshed out enough to count, but... I can feel them taking shape that way and laughing at myself for being so damn predictable XD)
The detail that I keep forgetting and then have to remind myself of is that Meira went to college and got a degree in anthropology. It honestly wasn't a planned part of her backstory, it just came up as I was writing and I realised she would have gone to college, given the opportunity, and she would have loved it. And she would have wanted to study people, but things like sociology and psychology and such really didn't feel right, so in the end I settled on anthropology.
It keeps slipping my mind all the time, and then I'm like 'oh yeah that happened' and, honestly? I think that's probably how Meira would be about it, too, so XD

For what it might be worth I really enjoyed all the fics in the series (and the time travel one shot)-I haven't read all the books but I really enjoyed the world you built with the characters, I think the stories all flowed well together! And I also love fics with Daniel's daughters, that would have definitely been interesting to read (I enjoyed your inclusion of them in the series and I liked the evolution of their dynamics with Armand as well, the funeral scene in Trojan Horse still hits me!) so it’s unfinished only in the sense that there’s a sequel i’m still writing, but i can tell you that the sequel is set in dubai and it’s two parts — one rashda, one armand 👁️👁️ also a fun fact is that the first fic is obviously POV dani so from her perspective, it’s a hot and kind of weird hookup. from ARMAND’s perspective, however, she is like a watery mess at the brink of tears of the whole time. she’s reached her limit. she’s dani deprived. i think in this universe, armand probably “let her go” and wiped her memories when she found out dani was pregnant from a hookup or something? idk. it’s not super fleshed out bc it’s primarily a pornfic lmao. but it wasnt because of an argument, dani didnt ask to leave, and armand didnt want to let her go. kind of like my odysseus in white silk universe — i dont think thats what happened in the show, but it’s easy to write lmao

This Is The Part Where The Chaingunners Kill Us: An analysis of classic Doom design and gamefeel
Recently I have started going through historic FPS games to get a better feel for how they progressed as a genre. Throughout December and January I went through Half-Life and its sequels, and on this month I played Doom. Most specifically I played the original, the extra episode Thy Flesh Consumed, Doom 2 and the Final Doom expansions (TNT Evilution and Plutonia Experiment to those unaware)
Throughout this I like to believe I developed some understanding of what makes Doom maps enjoyable, and so I'd like to take a moment to structure those thoughts.
Now it is worth noting that, for the purposes of this text, I am not going to criticize Doom's technical details. By all means it's a borderline miracle it got developed at the time, Carmack, Romero and Taylor are wizards for what they've done. No, this is just about design.
So, with that setup out of the way, let's get started:
Doom is a very simple game at its core. Run around, make it to the exit, and shoot anything that moves on your way there. Now, this is not meant to be a disparaging remark, any good game has a core this simple. It's the job of the foundation to be uncomplicated.
Now the matter of contention is how to build on that foundation. This may seem like a controversial opinion, but the brunt of the weight to make the game interesting is not the weapons. They feel good to use, to be sure, with only the exception of the normal shotgun I think. They're incredible templates that set the stage for all future FPS games, but they're not all that interesting on their own. I'd argue only 2 weapons actually have some nuance, those being the BFG, with its tracer gimmick, and the rocket launcher, with its splash damage.
So this means the heavy weight will have to be pulled by the enemies and the levels, so let's start with the enemies.
The Enemies
I'm not going to give you an in depth list of every enemy, but I'll start with a distinction between two types that on its own already achieves an incredible dynamic when it comes to target prioritization. That being, of course, the difference between projectile and hitscan
Projectile enemies, as the name implies, shoot projectiles at you. As with any projectiles, these are objects that have a certain amount of speed which makes them travel towards their destination. The mere fact that it is an object in the game world, regardless of speed, means you have a chance to dodge, no matter how slim. These enemies are a test of your movement prowess. Hitscan enemies, however, simply aim in an area, scan if you're there, and if you are, they hit. There is no projectile or dodging, if you are where they aim, you take damage, simple as that. However, they work on line of sight, meaning that if you go behind cover they can't hit you anymore. They're meant to keep you moving and cover sightlines that force you to seek other routes. Pictured here is me getting hit by a hitscanner. As you can see, its attack animation is not yet done, I was hit instantly.

When it comes to enemy variety the hitscanners are definitely the least interesting, being essentially sequentially more powerful versions of each with a single exception to this, the Archvile. The Archvile works a bit differently from the other hitscanners, rather than just aiming and shooting, it controls the whole area over which it looks. If you see fire and don't get to cover in about 3 seconds, you take extreme amounts of damage.
The projectile monsters make up for it with a few quirks, like the Mancubbi shooting to the sides, as if to punish you for moving, and the Revenants having their homing missiles. There are plenty of enemies to make you consider your approach to any given fight, so let's talk priorities.
The game will often try to force your priorities. There's a type of enemy I haven't mentioned, Melee, populated by two enemy types, the Pinky and the Lost Soul. There are also the Spectres but mechanically they're just Pinkies that are a bit harder to see. The Lost Souls, in the meantime, charge at you. They're small, but far more durable than you would at first expect, and they can easily swarm you due to being spawned endlessly by the Pain Elemental.
These melee enemies are the perfect support for a game like Doom. Enemy prioritization is half the game, and trying to hit someone past a group of pinkies is hard enough but add a Lost Soul charging at you when you think you have a clear shot and you're gonna end up killing yourself with the rocket you fire.
However, when you have room to maneuver, the main threat will always be hitscanners. Though they have the least potential damage (sometimes, it's a bit inconsistent), their sure-hit is more dangerous than any projectile monster, Revenants with their homing missiles are remarkably less dangerous in an arena because you can simply outrun the missiles, but you cannot outrun bullets.
Outside of arenas, the priority changes slightly depending on the level structure. Lots of corners make hitscanners much less dangerous. It also doesn't help projectiles but hitscanners are especially affected, in that situation you might even want to target melees, as corners have no bearing on their threat level.
To conclude and summarize this segment: I think the enemy design in Doom is great. Almost every enemy has their own niche and hitscanners are a great supportive class that is capable of brutally locking down areas and applying pressure on the player by simply being within line of sight.
Now let's talk levels
Doom levels come in many shapes and sizes. Some of them are fairly linear, where you don't really have to consider areas you've been through and you're just a relentlessly advancing murder machine, some are a little more convoluted with switch hunting and looking for keys as you walk around, while others are... Charitably, big directionless squares.
I am not very fond of the last ones. They are mostly used in city settings and those are maps I take issue with, as they are easy to get lost in and offer little to no actual objective from the start. You don't know what you're aiming for or where to go, you're just in a square city, getting sniped from windows all over.

If your level has a big arrow to point the player in the right direction, it is not a good level.
But I've only just begun to unravel the thread on the unfun decisions that Doom makes for some of its maps, and the biggest culprits are, by far, the Final Doom expansions. That's the reason I named this whole analysis what I did, because their decisions just buried themselves into my mind and refused to let go.
Team TNT and the Casali brothers endeavored to create hard games, something difficult to keep the challenge seekers of Doom sated, and while they succeeded at times there were fatal failings that utterly tanked my enjoyment of these levels, and it all comes down to one thing.
I would like you to go back and remind yourselves of the praise I gave hitscanners. Now throw it all away, we won't need it anymore. Observe:

Here's a fun fact about hitscanners. I haven't looked at the code so I can't say what their real range is, but, in practical terms, it is infinite. If you see them, they see you, and if they see you, they can hit you.
At the end of this hallway lie 8 Chaingunners, they are currently behind a Cacodemon for cover. I can see them, they can see me. They can hit me. I, however, have ammo to worry about. So what are my options?
I approach, and the Chaingunners pelt me with shots, each having a max damage of 15 according to the wiki, but the most I took notice of taking at a time was 12. There's some health on the way so you maybe won't die crossing to the other side, but you will be severely injured.
I shoot them from a distance, but the autoaim doesn't help much from this range, I must waste ammo trying to aim, and because they're so far away it's hard to see their hitstun so I have no idea if I'm actually hitting them or not. Even if I bring a rocket launcher from another level they have plenty of space to move around so it's unlikely to hit many at a time.
The only cover I have is to my right or the Cacodemon, I have to go through the hall while being riddled by bullets and shot by my own cover which won't last long against them either. And do you want to guess what lies at the end?

See that Chaingunner on the pillar? There's one on the other side too. And they get infinitely resurrected by hidden Archviles you can't hit. Throughout nearly the ENTIRE map, these two will keep harrassing you because of the grid windows into the room they're in, windows which let bullets through.
When chaingunners are in reach of the player the designers find ways of making them the bane of your existence all the same.

This room is the very antithesis of what Doom represents. Doom is an aggressive and fast game, you're the one that's attacking most of the time. Sometimes you're expected to be more defensive, it would only stand to reason to turn things on the player like that, but at those points your defense is your movement.
No movement in this room will save you. No, you're going to get mowed down if you try to advance, even if you make it to one of those pillars for "cover" you're going to get shot from all directions anyways. The most efficient solution is to go back out, peek around the corner, and little by little clear the room one end to the other.
The process is not very fun.
This overuse of Chaingunners is prevalent throughout the entirety of both expansions, and their inconsistency is plain to see. Sometimes they start firing instantly, costing you half your health, sometimes they just wander around when they have a clear shot, sometimes they give you just enough time to react. Sometimes.
Hitscanner ambushes are like this. Archviles are the sole exception because they have a set amount of time until their attack goes off, but the other hitscanners can very easily hit you without giving you time to react. That's not a reaction test or a matter of skill, that's a health tax. A costly one at times.
And on the topic of Chaingunner inconsistency, let's talk about how Doom, in general, is inconsistent. This isn't an expansion issue, it's one that's observed in basically every game.
Liquids that harm you in some levels don't in others. Certain assets sometimes are switches and other times mere decorations. I understand they were working with very limited storage but readability will ALWAYS be more important than aesthetic, and in their pursuit of aesthetic ID made an utterly unreadable game. When I look at a river of lava I cannot think "I shouldn't step there" I need to think "I wonder if I can step on it" and that's not how things should work past your first encounter with any element in a game.

I think the level Hunted from the Plutonia Experiment showcases this the best. This level interferes with the very working of DOORS. Now that isn't to say I don't understand the rationale behind it, but the fact is that it is extremely poorly explained!
As the level name implies you are being hunted down by enemies within a maze. The design of how the doors work is actually rather ingenious. Unlike other doors which can be activated through switches or interacting with them, these activate through triggers signaled by those grey lines on the sides. This makes sense, if you're being hunted you want the door open by the time you get there.
However, by the time you are introduced to this mechanic, you have already seen these 12 Archviles teleport out of this room, and are rightfully operating under the assumption that they're out to get you. You may have bigger concerns on your mind than how the doors work if you think you're being hunted like this.

So at this point you may be wondering:
Does this guy even HAVE something positive to say about Doom?
And yes, I do in fact! I just have a much easier time elaborating on negative feelings than positive ones. It's easier for me to pinpoint what I dislike rather than what I like, but that doesn't mean I'm clueless about it.
Personally, I think Doom is at its best in short linear maps, where you just need to worry on the combat rather than backtracking for keys and switches. I think it excels at being a run and gun with good arenas. The gunplay is incredibly good, I need the levels to focus on that over other things.

That is not to say levels should be a straight line, exploration should be a significant part of any doom game, and I think more than anything it's important to entice the player into exploring. This soul orb on the left is a perfect example. It's a carrot on a stick approach that works for most secrets. It's something fully visible but out of reach, something you want that would make your life easier.
I think this is the best kind of secret, as it becomes sort of a puzzle, using the map and your own perception to try and figure out the path to get to the item.

However that does not mean I dislike texture secrets, it feels good to be rewarded for your perception, though there have been plenty of times when I thought a texture was a secret only to find it was a random difference to add variety.
Going back to the topic of level size, while I do prefer small levels, there are some big ones that I also quite enjoy, and how it comes to happen is very simple.

The good big levels have a strong sense of segmentation. Nothing bleeds together, they are simply a bunch of different sectors around a pseudo hub area that you need to solve, simple as that. In this one, for example, the inverted cross is the hub. From it you get all these different areas, and then you move on to the circle arena on the top left of the hub.
That arena leads to a large linear area where you're unlikely to get lost, and to another arena that leads to the exit. Since every area is so clearly self contained you run no risk of running around a big open field looking for keys or somesuch, it's a straightforward sequence.
To conclude and summarize this segment: Doom maps are at their best when they have well defined constraints and segments, whether in linearity or by creating a hub you can familiarize yourself with. Big open fields, long hallways where you have no room for maneuvering or cover, or overabundance of hitscanners ruins the gamefeel and makes traversal and navigation not fun. The inconsistency of switches and damaging floors creates an ever present feeling of second guessing yourself that doesn't feel fair within the confines of the game.
In Conclusion: Doom is rightfully one of the most influential games of all time, the gunplay and enemy designs are incredible, I can see how they'd form the template for basically every FPS to even dare to exist for a good few years. However, in experiencing it myself, I found myself disappointed by its allegedly legendary level design. There are an incredible amount of good levels, to be sure, but a considerable portion were exercises in directionlessness, frustration, and unfair damage. In playing this, I have gained greater insight into FPS enemies, more than anything else, and how their positioning can turn otherwise good enemy design into something that causes only a feeling of infuriation.

oh rip you're asking the jaded english graduate this question lmao. so I'm not sure if I could pinpoint an author who particularly inspires me nowadays — there are obviously authors that I love reading, but I haven't really read fiction widely since graduating and most of the fiction I have drawn inspiration from over the past decade or so is by classic authors. plus storytelling as a medium isn't just restricted to books and I could give you countless examples of other forms of storytelling that inspire me on a daily basis. but speaking strictly about the printed word, big shout out to Jacqueline Wilson books for being a staple of my childhood (i doubt anyone outside of the UK will know of her lmao), and Andrea Levy is also suuuuch a favourite writer of mine. and then a mandatory shout out to Oscar Wilde who inspired the majority of my tagging system on this blog, and is also one of my all-time favourite writers.

someone who's chill lmaooo. that's honestly the biggest thing for me and I think I'm lucky because I feel like I'm a pretty good judge of character? I have a sceptical disposition and I'm strong-minded, so I tend to be rather picky of who I reach out to and befriend on this site and for the most part I haven't really steered wrong. if you're gonna be my rp partner you just have to be OK with the fact that I might not reply to your thread for two years, and that if you pressure me I will either make it three years or I'll drop the thread altogether. also, that I might not talk to you everyday — I don't even talk to some of my rl best friends everyday, I much prefer low-pressure friendships where we can check in every few weeks or months and pick up like no time has passed at all. I just don't have the time or inclination for the crap that comes along with this hellsite anymore, so I stick to people I already know and people who pass my strict vibe test lmao.
passion is also always something I look for too, on a more positive note. I enjoy seeing people passionate about their muses on my dash, it's infectious and there have been so many occasions where I have voluntarily sought out the source material and watched a show/read a book/played a video game solely because a friend of mine or someone on my dash has been talking so passionately about them/it. like it doesn't even matter if I don't write in the same fandom as you, if you get me passionate about a character or universe through the dash powers of osmosis, I'll make an AU especially for you lmao.

oof this is such a good question and such a tricky one to answer on a multi where I have muses that encompass multiple genres and also where I'm really not shy about writing crossovers lmao. is it a cop-out to just say that I love group verses? not even just verses that involve several people, but creating a group verse with one other person where we just throw different muses from our multis into it like a melting pot? writing two characters against each other is fun of course, but there's something even more fun about throwing ten muses into the same verse and figuring out everyone's connection to each other. or starting with two muses and then building it up slowly until you have a google doc with a dozen muses and a flow chart explaining how they all connect lmao. it just enriches your writing environment and gives you so much more stimuli to play with when you reply to a meme or write a thread. instead of coming up with npcs on the fly, you can bring another muse in to help figure out a plot point or help flesh out an aspect of a relationship or dynamic without it being superficial because you're not just creating a surface-level character to be referenced in one or two replies, but another living, breathing muse with their own life and perspective. I just like everything feeling connected, where every thread has a ripple effect on all of the other future ones you write. also, as someone who likes to push themselves when it comes to writing, it's a wonderful challenge to write three muses within the same thread, I love it.

Any tips for how to start writing your whump story?
Hi anon!
Well, I haven't written a long whump story yet, and I don't have some cool tricks, but I can talk about how I write my one shots.
I start with imagining what whump I am craving at that moment and decide the character dynamics I want. I play the scene a few times and alter the details until it gives me whumperflies.
Then, actually sit down and write. I prefer writing the descriptions first. Scenes, actions, or just characters. After it, I add the dialogues and go back to flesh out what I have written every once in a while or to check if it's coherent.
Lastly, of course, editing (which is not my strong suit, I will read something I wrote a million times and still miss all of my typos)
