So let me get this straight:
Hollow knight is about the journey of a small creature possessing the corpse of a god's discarded child, and the character arc that unfolds as they realize they're more than the path they were set to take, eventually defeating the corruption instead of merely postponing inevitable destruction.
Rain world is about the journeys and experiences of many small creatures sent by a bunch of gossiping computers, and the efforts to help stop the destruction caused by a corrupted god that unfolds over hundreds of years, all to postpone his inevitable death.
Man, video games are fun!

thinking about moon knight having marc call steven the best superpower he's ever had during a really emotional moment and how that show handled DID better than just about any piece of media I've ever seen and. I'm sobbing actually. they equated his neurodivergence with being the greatest part of him after marc had spent so long trying to hide his DID out of shame. and maybe that sounds like bordering on glorification but it really wasn't. because they made it so obvious that what marc meant was that steven kept him ALIVE and that's the most he could ever ask for and anyway. whatever whatever it's fine

finally put my finger on why marvel content has been so fuckin exhausting for me since black panther and it's because the films are being made to be clippable content and not actual movies
eta: actually this is just everything disney's doing it's not just a marvel problem. moon knight and andor are outliers because it's practically IMPOSSIBLE that they got made with so much heart.

I realize you’re probably not super interested in Marvel outside of Spiderverse characters but God Loki from the very end of season 2 could be sooooo cool in your style (especially if also influenced by the Lucifer statue maybe)
I'm happy you think so Anon, although I'm afraid I don't know anything about the Loki series or much about the character. I stopped keeping up with Marvel stuff a little before the second Infinity War movie >.> It's so hard to keep up with the MCU, they seem to be releasing tons of shows and movies all the time! If I ever get around to catching up and watching Loki I hope I'll see what you mean.

i rewatched episode five of moon knight again yesterday, and one thing that finally struck me for the first time is that in the flashback to when marc becomes moon knight, he only begins to genuinely mull over khonshu's offer when he says "do you promise to protect the travelers of the night, and would you bring vengeance to those who would do them harm"
and it's here that you can see something shift on marc's face, and he looks down at his hands covered in blood and sand, and it's like you can see the idea forming. he just failed to protect those who khonshu would consider to be travelers of the night, he was willing to die for them - almost did, and the man who did it got away.
so now either marc can die, or he can accept this offer, and maybe bring vengeance for all the people he just failed to save.
