Buck & Eddie: Season 7 Ravi's back for a reason
The video includes some of the important things Ravi said and some of his interactions with Buck and Eddie from seasons 5 and 6. Please note: the sound has been removed from the last few seconds of the video because it includes music and if I would have left it in, Tumblr would have given me issues with adding it to the tags. I left it in so everyone could see Buck lay his head on Eddie's shoulder after he picked Ravi up 🙃🤪😉😜.
Last season I believed Ravi returned at a specific time for a specific reason and when he did, I completed a post about how Buck's NO LONGER the KID of the 118 because Ravi is the kid now (linked here). Reminder, Bobby hasn't called Buck kid since Buck's coma dream.
Yesterday, a BTS from Season 7 was posted that includes Eddie, Ravi and Buck and it was intriguing. The look on Ravi's face makes it seem like it's his first time seeing something and Buck looks like "F" not again" and Eddie looks like "Ok... that's interesting but we can handle it" but neither Buck nor Eddie look shocked at all. There's not enough included in the picture to go on but their facial expressions say a lot.
Tumblr media
Today, another BTS was released that included the same three 118 members, Eddie, Buck and Ravi. Please look at the GIF below and notice the doors they exited from. Eddie got out of the captain's seat but please remember in 6x1, he said he appreciated it if Bobby didn't ask him to be interim captain. Has Eddie ever sat there? IIRC he hasn't, unless I missed it.
Tumblr media
After I saw the video, I had several questions.
First, why wasn't Buck sitting in the captain's seat? He always sits there whenever he has the chance. But for some reason, this time he won't be.
Also, where is Hen and Chimney? It's possible they could be in the ambulance (if medical is needed) but if Bobby hasn't returned to work then that really doesn't explain why Hen's not sitting there instead of Eddie.
Where is the rest of the 118?
Are they the only three who will be needed for the call?
Ravi and Buck got out of the back but since Buck got out first, it's possible they were sitting where they sat in 5x18 and 6x16.
Tumblr media
In 5x18, Ravi made the infamous "Isn't that what we all want in a partner..." declaration when Buck was still with TK but he knew (the audience knew too) that she wasn't who Ravi was referring to with regards to Buck. (Pssst... he was talking about EDDIE! 🤪😜🥰)
Later in the same episode, Buck defined what love means to him while him and Maddie were sitting on his balcony (related post linked here). Reminder, he said it AFTER Ravi asked the team, what they all wanted in a partner.
Tumblr media
Enter season 6 and Ravi was absent and couldn't be found with a pair of binoculars because KR (the former showrunner???👀 hopefully she's no longer co-showrunner since TM the OG is back) wouldn't tell the audience where he was but she sure had time to film a FaceTime or whatever the "F" LD ended up talking to Bobby on in 6x1 regarding why she couldn't be interim captain.
I said this in a post earlier this week (linked here) that KR was telling half-truths and these BTS pics of Buck, Eddie and Ravi are kind of proving my point. In season 6 she didn't let Ravi come back until 6B because she was doing something with the characters. I answered an ask from my friend @mattsire a few weeks ago after one of the promos was released (linked here) and I said now that Buck and Eddie will be partners again, I wasn't sure what was going to happen in Season 7 (I'm still not sure and that's why I'm not speculating because I don't want to get blindsided again like I was with 6x18) but seeing Ravi again reminded me of my original theory. He's back for REASONS that have to do with Buck and Eddie.
Reminder, for the majority of Season 6, Eddie and Buck weren't working as partners. Buck mainly responded to calls with the team and Eddie spent most of his time being a medic. They were only partnered together for one call in 6x7 and it was the last Felisa emergency where she got buried in her car. Even though they were partners again in 6x13 for every call, it was strange since KR said they were trying new pairings for the season (I debunked her BS statement in a post I did earlier this week [linked here]. I believe the show was trying to see if the audience would notice and be vocal about Buck and Eddie not working or hanging out together and we were.) But reminder, they weren't working together while Ravi wasn't there. Even after he returned in 6x14, Ravi went into the dumpster fire with Eddie in 6x16 and Buck was kind of still working on his own.
In the latest TCA interview, TM said Ravi will return in Season 7 and since he's the OG showrunner and Buddie's his idea, I believe he has a reason for bringing Ravi back unlike KR who did it to appease the negative feedback she got for splitting Buck and Eddie up in the first place. Then she only included him in the finale so he could hand Buck some tools🙄.
In 6x14, Eddie hugged Ravi first but Buck literally hugged him and picked him up.
Tumblr media
Also, later in the same scene, Buck laid his head on Eddie's shoulder.
Tumblr media
The point of this post is to illustrate how Ravi returning could mean the original plan for season 6 is back in play. Therefore if the narrative that was set forth continues and it remains unchanged, everything that happened in 6x13 between Buck and Eddie and the Buckley-Diaz Family along with Eddie leaning more towards the medic or paramedic side of things and Buck remaining a firefighter then it's possible Ravi's back at the 118 so he can work with Buck. If so then maybe he's there so Buck and Eddie can continue working at the same firehouse after they become a CANON couple.
Please note, I believe Buck and Eddie were supposed to go CANON in season 5 but it got delayed and with everything that happened in season 6, it seemed like they were going to be in a relationship by the end of 6x18 but it got delayed once again. Will it be delayed in season 7 too? I don't know but I'm working on two posts about some things that were said during the TCA interview and I'm debating if I'll post them because I said I wasn't going to speculate but I'll make my decision after I finish the posts and decide then if I'll post them.

Jealousy With Undertaker
Tumblr media
Pairing: The Undertaker x Fem!Reader
Word Count: 1,883
A/N: It was requested by someone on Wattpad for me to write for Undertaker. I decided to go with the America Badass Undertaker because when he had this gimmick, it was my favorite. Hope You Enjoy!
Tumblr media
Jealousy with Undertaker.
• I feel like when it comes to jealousy with the Undertaker, he wouldn't be the one to make you jealous.
•It would be some guy talking to you, trying to get under Takers' skin or them flirting with you because why would he do that to you?
Tumblr media
You smiled as your husbands' promo ended. He was talking trash to the one and only DDP who's been stalking you recently.
You don't know why he's become so obsessed with you, but Taker's gonna make sure he doesn't lay a hand on you.
You stood backstage, waiting for him to come back when someone touched your back from behind. You quickly jumped, spinning around to be met with Stone Cold.
You took a step back, not wanting him to touch you again. "Y/n." He sternly greeted you. You crossed your arms over your chest. "What do you want, Austin?" You asked in an annoyed voice, which made him look 'surprised.'
"What the hell's wrong with you? All I said was your name." You gave him a look. "That's because I don't want you too, now what do you want?" Stone Cold let out a sigh. He didn't want to be here as much as you didn't want him to be.
"Look, my wife Debra told me to inform you that your match against Tori was granted and it'll be next week on Raw.” Now a smile came to your face.
Recently, Tori has betrayed your brother in law, Kane, by leading him on to believe she loved him, only to betray him and go for his ex partner X-Pac. You saw the hurt in his eyes even if he didn't want to admit it, but you promised him you'll get revenge by beating her ass in a match.
"Really! Oh my god, tell Debra I said thank you." You cheered, a huge smile on your face. Stone Cold looked at your happy face. He's never seen someone so happy to beat up someone.
"Yeah, she said she doesn't blame you for wanting a match. She also tells me all the time how she hates Tori cause all she does is run around like she's untouchable."
You nodded your head in agreement. "Yeah, she really does. She thinks just because she had Kane who's all big that she was untouchable, but now she has a whole group of men. Now she feels invisible." You said, adding a weird tone at the end of your sentence. Stone Cold let out a small chuckle at that.
You were so busy talking with him that you didn't realize your husband had come backstage looking for you, but when he saw you talking to his rival Stone Cold, he felt jealousy enter his body.
He watched the whole conversation as you smiled and laughed, throwing your head back. When Stone Cold laughed he knew it was time to step in. Stone Cold doesn't laugh with anyone backstage.
Undertaker walked behind you, the sound of his boots hitting the floor catching your attention. You turned to see him glaring at Stone Cold, his eyes just as cold as his name.
"Austin, you better get your ass away from my wife, right now." Stone Cold held his hands up in surrender. He didn't want any trouble with the big man. "Aye Taker, I was just leaving, man."
Undertaker watched as Stone Cold left, going back to wherever he came from. He then looked at you with anger in his eyes. "Talking with Stone Cold, ain't you?" You let out a sigh at his tone.
You know he's mad by the way he sounds. "Yeah, he was letting me know that I have a match against Tori on Raw next week." Undertaker nodded his head, slipping his hands in his jean pockets.
"Yeah, telling you about a match, huh?" You nodded your head. "So what was all that laughing and smiling about?" You rolled your eyes. "He was telling me about something Debra said. There's no need to be jealous." Undertaker looked at you as if he was offended by your accusation. "Jealous? I'm not jealous, I'm-"
You cut him off. "Yes you are jealous! I just told you why I was talking to him and why I was laughing, but you don't believe me because jealousy is taking over you. You just can't fathom the fact I'm talking to another guy, and that he's your rival."
As much as Undertaker didn't want to admit that you're right, he knew you were. He hated seeing you laughing with Stone Cold. "You're right. I-I'm sorry it's just, seeing you talking with him, it— it made me feel upset." You gave him some sympathy, knowing how he was feeling.
Undertaker and Kane have a rivalry with Triple H and Stone Cold, so seeing your significant other talking with one of them would make you upset too.
"I get it, but there's no need to be jealous. I love you and I would never do anything to make you think otherwise."
Undertaker didn't say anything else as he pulled you in for a kiss.
Tumblr media
Jealousy with You.
• Now when it comes to you being jealous it would be a girl's fault. With Taker being so big and popular, I feel like a girl would try flirting with him to get him to help her with beating up someone.
Tumblr media
"1, 2, 3!"
*Ding, Ding, Ding*
The bell rang as you stood up and got your hand raised by the referee.
You just won your match against Ivory, smiling as you watched Right to Censor drag her out the ring, staring at you with disgusted eyes.
They've recently been getting onto you about your attire saying 'It's too revealing for the kids' but you honestly could care less.
You stepped out the ropes, walking backstage. Just as you turned the corner your husband's brother popped up, scaring you. "Oh shit, Kane! You scared me." You said with a hand on your heart.
Kane stood there with a blank expression in his eyes. "What is it?" Kane was silent, but his hand gripped your wrist, dragging you away from your spot.
You hissed as his grip was somewhat tight. "Kane, where are you taking me?" Kane ignored your questions, stopping as he saw the scene in front of him.
You tried peeking around his body to see what he stopped for. "What? What is it?" Kane finally stepped aside, letting you see what he was looking at.
Your eyebrows furrowed as you saw your husband Undertaker standing there, chewing and spitting his tobacco into a cup. "What? Why'd you bring me here, he's not doing any-"
You quickly stopped talking when you saw Trish Stratus walking up in a black outfit with a Deadman Inc. logo on her hat.
She wore a top that pushed her breast up high and a short skirt, showing off her perfectly tanned legs.
You could hear their conversation from where you were.
"Hey Taker." Trish greeted him. Undertaker looked up from his phone, and then looked right back down. He wanted and had nothing to do with Trish. "I said hello Taker." She repeated.
Undertaker looked up at her with an annoyed expression. "What the hell do you want, Trish?" Trish was slightly taken back by his tone, but covered it up with a smile.
"Well, my boys Test and Albert have gotten themselves into trouble with Too Cool, and I was wondering if you would like to be the other partner for them against Rikishi?" Undertaker stood there, looking at her.
She was obviously trying to seduce him with the slurry voice she was doing, and looking at him up and down.
Instead of answering he asked, "Where did you get that hat from?" Trish frowned, taking her hat off and looking at the logo. "Oh, I got it custom made for $300. Took some time to stitch it, but it was so worth it, knowing I would be talking to you." Trish said with a smile as if $300 on a logo wasn’t nothing.
He couldn't believe Trish spent money to try and get him to join her little group. "Well that was dumb as fuck because I'm not helping your boys out, so you better go find someone else." He finished his sentence with another spit of his tobacco.
Trish closed her eyes, taking a deep breath. She could feel the frustration rise in her, but she knew she had to keep her cool in order to reel him in.
When her eyes opened, a new side of her showed. She was biting her lips, and her eyes were hooded. She took small steps to him, a hand resting on his chest.
"I tried asking your brother for help, but he unfortunately said no, but that's okay because he's not as strong, and big as you." She said, her manicured hands rubbing his tattooed arm. "And, I think the fans love you way more than they do Kane. You're so popular, and handsome."
As soon as her hand touched his beard you ran up to her from behind and punched her neck with your forearm. She went flying forward, her face hitting the floor with a groan.
"You dumb bitch, trying to seduce my man!" You yelled, getting on top of her and punching her face. Undertaker's eyes grew wide as he put his cup down on a table and grabbed your waist.
You were squirming in his hold, arms and legs flailing around to break out his hold and continue to beat her.
Soon Test and Albert turned the corner, coming to help their manager up. "I'm gonna fuckin' kill you!" You threaten her, as Test and Albert helped her up. Trish fixed her hair with a smile. "Don't be mad cause he thinks I'm hotter than you." You felt yourself grow even angrier at the little smirk on her face.
You were gonna wipe that off her pretty little face.
You turned in Takers hold, grabbing his tobacco spit cup and throwing the brown liquid all on her face and some on Tests' arm.
She let out a disgusted scream, and Test dropped her, in disgust at the brown spit on his arm. "Oh my god, ew!" She screamed, trying to wipe the spit off her body, but it was everywhere.
Now it was your turn to smirk as you watched her and her boys scramble away to the locker room. Undertaker finally let you go, letting out a breath. "Babe, you need to chill out. I wasn't gonna help her."
You nodded your head, running a hand over your face. "Oh, I know you weren't, otherwise I would kill you." Undertaker smiled, pulling you into his chest and kissing your forehead.
He looked at his brother who still stood in his spot, a small nod shooting towards him. "I swear I'm gonna beat her ass next week." Taker chuckled, rubbing your back.
"Kane, let's go. We're stopping by Regals office on our way to the locker room. I'm sure I'll get my match with the both of you there." You ordered, walking past him.
Taker couldn't and didn't stop you because he knows you're gonna get your revenge.

hey-a! i was wondering if you could do a roman reigns imagine where R is part of the bloodline, but doesn’t wrestle and she’s Roman’s wife. She kind of sets up all his appts and accompanies him to the ring like Paul. Then she enters the Rumble at 30 since they’re short a woman, and accidentally wins and the guys are proud of her. She gets a shot at the title at Wrestlemania and wins the title, basically solidifying she can hold her own without the guys. Plus if there’s like build up and promos about them not really believing she could do it, and she wants to prove them wrong. Thank you! ❤️
the woman of the hour ✧.* | roman reigns x reader!
roman reigns x fem! reader
summary: in which roman's wife is a surprise entrant in the royal rumble match and earns the opportunity of a lifetime.
genre: fluff <3
a/n: this fic idea was so so good, i wanted to make sure this one came out exactly how i pictured it! i hope you all love it.
Tumblr media
y/n was a well known figure in the world of wrestling. being the wife of the man who ran the entire business with his title reign was something that she never minded taking pride in. y/n was not only a manager for her husband, but she was the definition of a hard worker. she never wanted to just be a trophy wife, she herself did her best to book everything for her husband. she took her job as a manager the way every person should.
she was someone who had a routine in her life. she made sure everything was perfect for the bloodline as a whole, and always kept things under control for the men that held the group together. what she didn't expect was for her routine to be changed when she received a call from her a call from her boss, triple h. hunter called her with a surprise she had never expected in the morning before work.
as hunter's name popped up on her screen, she answered quickly. always managing her business as she should. "hello hunter! this is a nice surprise." she answered, "good morning y/n! i was hoping i would get a response from you." he said excitedly. to say what y/n heard next was unexpected, would be an understatement. "so what's going on, should i be worried?" she asked, curiously. she could hear hunter chuckle through the phone, before answering her question.
"well, y/n. i have a proposition for you." he replied, she looked around confused, her husband wasn't home as he was out doing his morning workout and training. "what would that be?" y/n responded. "now y/n, i know what i'm going to ask might sound scary. however, if you say no i completely understand," hunter said, before continuing. "with all the current injuries, and short staffing, i was wondering if you could step in and take one of the open positions in the royal rumble match coming in two weeks", he stated.
y/n was completely taken aback by what her boss had just said to her, but she took her job seriously, and would never want to disappoint the people who took care not only her career, but her husband's as well. "wow, hunter. i have no idea what to say." she chuckled nervously as she thought about the decision she should make. "i know it can be a lot, and i know that you aren't a wrestler. however, i can assure you that if you do decide to do it, we have the people to help train you and get you into that ring. so what do you say?" he questioned.
she knew that this was a big decision, and definitely one she should ask her husband about first. she also knew that she was independent, and could make her own decisions. "you know what, hunter? i'll do it! to be honest i am completely shocked you chose to ask me, but i really am grateful for any opportunity." she said, confidently. "that is amazing, y/n. you are honestly a true gem of this business." he said, before adding, "as for training, with it being two weeks from now, after you get back from smackdown tonight, the trainers at the performance center will be ready for you in florida by monday. be there at seven in the morning, and they can teach you everything. if you have any questions, don't hesitate to stop by my office! thank you again, y/n. and hey, good luck out there! you never know what could happen." he said. the two ended the conversation, and y/n thought, how would she explain this to her husband?
y/n hadn't realized how much time she had spent in her own thoughts until she heard the door click, and saw her husband walking through the door. "hey baby." he said, walking over to her and giving her a kiss. "hi, honey," she said, roman knew she was thinking about something. he knew her too well, knowing instantly she was deep in thought about something. "what's up? what've you been thinking about?" he asked her, as he sat down on the bed next to her, rubbing her leg as he awaited an answer. "when i tell you, you have to promise to not be mad that i didn't ask you first." she started, causing roman to look confused. "you know i never stay mad, what is it?" he questioned, curiously.
y/n sighed, before starting to explain herself. "well, hunter called me this morning. he asked me to step in for the royal rumble." roman was surprised, but not upset. why would he be? "that was it? baby, are you kidding? honestly, that's kind of insane." he chuckled, he grabbed her hands, before looking in her eyes. "baby, you're literally the only person i know that is amazing at everything. however, my only worry is that you've never wrestled before." he added. y/n smiled, not expecting her husband to be so comforting about the news that her boss had left her with. "hunter actually told me that i'll be training at the performance center for the next two weeks, starting sunday." y/n smiled, causing her husband to smile. "that's amazing, y/n. i wish i could be there while you trained this coming week." he said, disappointed, knowing he had live events to work the following two weeks.
y/n smiled at her husband, and kissed his cheek. "baby, you'll be there on the royal rumble, you get to see it happen. i get to surprise you with my talent." she chuckled, causing roman to laugh. "well, good. just know if you need anything, i'm here. you know that." he said, giving her a kiss.
for the next two weeks, y/n had spent her entire time training for the royal rumble event. she hadn't seen her husband, and she was definitely missing him, especially seeing him on smackdown without her. roman spent those two weeks calling her each day, giving her words of advice and helping her throughout all of the stress. she spent everyday focusing on taking hits, falls, and selling moves. she knew that if she dedicated herself to this, she would be able to do her best, and for her that is what was most important to her.
day of the royal rumble:
it was finally the day that she would see if all of her work had paid off. at the end of her training weeks, hunter had came in to see how she was doing, and he told her that he was impressed with what she could learn within those two weeks. to say y/n was proud of herself, was definitely something she felt.
roman and y/n were finally back together, and were walking hand and hand into the arena, along with jimmy and jey. "how we feeling, y/n?" jey asked y/n, curiously. she was nervous, and three men around her could sense it. "you already know," she answered, chuckling. the three guys shook their heads, and jimmy replied to her, "listen, you know you're gonna do great. hunter had you training with the best trainers and wrestlers out there. and trust, if you didn't impress him when he came to check out your progress before tonight, he wouldn't have you going out there tonight." he said, causing the other three to nod in agreement. "he's right, baby. you're gonna kill it tonight, now let's go get your gear and get you ready." roman said, excitedly.
y/n had just finished up getting ready, and was mentally preparing for her match in roman's locker room. pacing around, and warming up. "calm down, baby. you got this, trust me." he said, walking behind her. "i'm gonna be watching, you know that." he added, before hearing a knock on the door. the two looked over, and roman went to open it, seeing hunter. "hey you two, glad to see you're dressed and ready y/n! i just wanted to stop by and give you your entry number. you're entering at thirty, which is definitely a great number. with that, i say good luck, and do your best. you've impressed me with your work the from the last two weeks. good luck again." he said, smiling before walking out.
y/n was now watching the match that she was about to enter anxiously, as she waited in the gorilla. she was on in the next 15 seconds, feeling like the time of the match had gone by so quickly. roman had reassured her multiple times before the match started that she would do fine, before she knew it the final 5 seconds of the countdown was going off. once the beep had gone off and the fans were anticipating who was coming out, nobody expected to hear a remix of roman's song come on, a theme song she had been given when she started managing her husband.
fans were screaming, some confused, some excited. the voices of michael cole and corey graves shocked when they heard the music hit. "could it be! roman reigns wife is entering the royal rumble!" michael cole yelled. y/n slid into the ring, faced with asuka, rhea ripley, and liv morgan. to say she was anxious was an understatement as she faced the three women in front of her. she felt her confidence rise as she heard the crowd screaming, "holy shit!" she smiled, before running up to liv and attacking her, using the moves she had learned over the few weeks. she fought hard, before doing something that drove the fans crazy. she hit rhea ripley with a superkick, and completed the scene by hitting asuka with a spear, an ode to her husband.
she smiled as the crowd was roaring. before she knew it, asuka had been eliminated. she looked at the two women in front of her, smiling at rhea and liv. she knew that she probably wasn't going to win, but the adrenaline she felt was something she had never felt in her life, and she loved it. "you think you can come in here? this is my ring!" rhea yelled, before both rhea and liv attacked y/n, working as a team as they had many times. while y/n was down, rhea and liv started fighting each other. y/n watched as liv got eliminated. as soon as she noticed rhea was occupied with dumping liv out of the ring, she took the opportunity to throw rhea out of the ring, something her and rhea both did not know she was capable of.
y/n's jaw dropped as she realized what she had just did. she just won the royal rumble, something she thought would be the last outcome of the night. meanwhile, backstage roman and hunter were clapping in excitement knowing that y/n just did the unthinkable. the crowd was filled with jaws on the floor. some people upset, and some people surprised by her performance. y/n celebrated, as the usos came out to support her, as her husband's match was next. she smiled the two came behind her, holding her up, and pointed to the wrestlemania sign, causing the fireworks to go off. she was excited, but now. how was she going to win the match at wrestlemania that she didn't expect to happen?
after finishing her celebration, y/n went backstage, and ran into her husband's arms. "i am so proud of you, baby. you killed it." he whispered in her ear. "your spear? amazing." he added, smiling widely. y/n smiled, looking into her husband's eyes, "thank you for believing in me. now, go kill it out there so we can celebrate." she smiled, giving him a kiss, before roman had to leave for his match. backstage, people were congratulating her, giving her hugs, and words of props. y/n soaked it all in, enjoying her moment.
over the time leading up to wrestlemania, y/n spent more weeks training for the biggest match of her life. what took the fans by surprise was her choice of choosing to wrestle charlotte at wrestlemania. she knew that regardless of her decision, it would be a tough battle. every week, there would be constant trolls saying that she was a fool for thinking she could wrestle her at wrestlemania. with her not fighting each week, people did not know what to expect from her at wrestlemania. fans did not believe in her, but with the kind of woman y/n was, it gave her fuel. she spent her time training, and when she would come out to accompany roman, fans would always chant, "she can't wrestle." it was getting under skin, she wanted to prove everyone wrong. regardless of what roman and everyone who trained her would tell her, she wanted to prove these fans wrong, she wanted to be confident in her own abilities.
day of wrestlemania:
y/n had spent months preparing for this moment. the day of wrestlemania. she had been to the event multiple times, but never did she think it would be for own match. people had no idea what to expect from her. they had no clue if she would win, lose, or even put on a show for that matter. at the current moment, she was in her husband's locker room, preparing for her match. it was the first day of wrestlemania, meaning he would not be wrestling tonight. she not only wanted to make him proud, but she wanted to make the entire bloodline proud. she looked at herself, happy with the gear that had been made for her for this moment.
Tumblr media
she looked at herself in the mirror, before putting on one of her husband's shirts that she had cropped. she was ready, and regardless of what everyone had to say, she was ready. roman smiled at her as he watched his wife prepare. he had taken a couple of weeks off throughout the months to attend trainings with her, and he knew she was ready. he just wanted her to be as confident in her abilities as he was. "you ready? you're on after this match." he said, causing y/n to get nervous butterflies in her stomach. he grabbed her two hands, looking at her in the eyes, "i believe in you, you are going to be amazing. fuck what the fans say, fuck what anyone says. you have been working your ass off, and trust me when i tell you, you are honestly a natural wrestler." he said, smiling.
y/n didn't realize how much she needed her husband's words at that moment, she was ready, and she deserved to be in this match after the work she had put in. "you're right, i'm ready. i want to make everyone proud, thank you for everything. you are forever the most amazing husband ever." she said, causing roman to smile widely. he pulled her into a hug, before they heard a staff member knock and yell, "y/n! get to the gorilla, your entrance is up in five!" she turned to roman, feeling nervous again, and he gave her a kiss. "you've got this, let's get over there. did i mention, paul will be accompanying you? you're the first woman to have paul with you, trust me, you got this." he said, before they walked over to the gorilla.
it was time, her entrance was up. she knew regardless of what happened, this was something she should be proud of. she heard her music hit, and paul smiled widely, "let's do this." y/n made her entrance, hearing a mix of wild cheers, and a few boos hear and there. she loved the adrenaline of knowing she had some people who didn't believe in her because she wanted to prove them wrong. as she waited for charlotte to make her entrance she made sure to keep a confident face, just like her husband had taught her.
the match began, and she pulled out every move she had learned. from the most perfect clotheslines, to superkicks, she showed off what she had been taught. the usos made sure to give her the perfect technique on a suicide dive, which caused the crowd to go insane. the amount of this is awesome cheers fueled her up. roman watched in the back proud, along with his cousins, he didn't expect to watch his wife to pull out her very own superman punch, smiling even wider when she watched her talk shit to the camera, another thing he taught her. he nodded in pride, as her and charlotte went back and fourth.
the final stride of the match came in, with charlottle having y/n in a figure eight. y/n felt like it was time to give up, she knew regardless of if she tapped out or not, she put in her all. the match had already gone on for twenty-two minutes, but she felt the adrenaline kick in once more. she somehow managed to get out of the figure eight, finding a way to kick charlottle in the face in the process. she looked up, knowing this was her chance. she ran up to charlottle, hitting her with a spear, and the crowd went wild. she looked up at the fans jumping up and down, and smiled. she knew what she had to do to finish this match off. she found her way up to the top rope, and did her very own uso splash, and knew this was it. the fans didn't though. y/n went for the pin once charlottle was down, and the referee started the final count.
one. two. three!
y/n went crazy as she heard the three. she didn't even get up, she sat there in the middle of the ring feeling all of her emotions. pride, happiness, and everything she had worked for coming to a final stop. she felt her tears come down, and watched as paul walked up to her with her new smackdown women's championship. once she heard the announcer say she was the winner, she smiled, raising up her title. she heard the fans cheer even louder, and looked over. roman and the usos were coming out to celebrate with her. she smiled as she looked at her husband, who grabbed her title, and put it around her waist for her.
"you deserve this, go to that rope, you did it." he whispered, as y/n went up to the top rope, and smiled looking down at the title that was around her waist, hearing fireworks go off all around her. the three men smiled as they watched her. as she came down, the three guys pulled her into a group hug, and the fans roared in you deserve it chants. and she did, she deserved it because she put on one hell of a match. and that, is how y/n became the woman of the hour.
the end.

this was so fun to write, my apologies for taking so long to get to all requests! i hope you guys enjoyed. <3

Live-Action Promo Pics - Azula
I’ve been hesitant to comment much on the the live-action series, as most of the discourse has revolved around the casting. I’ve already made my ideal ATLA fancast pretty well-known and I don’t feel comfortable harshly critiquing children/teens for not looking like my favorite cartoon characters. At the end of the day, it’s the casting directors that we should hold responsible, not working actors trying to make a living.
However, I have no problem reviewing the costumes— which I presume were made by industry professionals of adult age. In fact, I’d say the goals of this blog obligate me to give my two cents. So enjoy my completely subjective take on the promotional costumes:
Azula
Tumblr media
What I Liked
Like with Ozai, the topknot crown (guan) looks great.
Like with Zuko, the spaulders are also nice.
The outfit looks practical and easy to move around in.
This might sound a little blasphemous, I actually think her live action armor is slightly better than her Book 2 armor. The Book 2 design itself is cool, but the color palette is almost all red. It makes her look kind of washed out.
What I Didn't Care For:
I wish the outfit had more reds and blacks. It's a bit underwhelming as it is. It's got the opposite problem of live-action Ozai's design.
I'm not sure what the purpose of those grey straps coming out o her belt is, bit I don't care for them. They look a little odd.
This is a very minor nitpick, but I wish her lipstick was a more intense shade of red. I think it would have driven home Azula's fixation on appearing more adult-like than she really is.
As I've mentioned in the past, I find most armor to be pretty boring, so I really dragged my feet on this review. Overall, I think Azula's outfit is alright, but also completely forgettable.
5 lightning strikes out of 10.
Like what I’m doing? Tips always appreciated, never expected. ^_^

So i did something because that promo got my brain reeling. It's my first time posting something i wrote so if u dont like it, stfu and d*e 🥰😚
"Becks..." a harsh slap landed on her ass making her moan as she corrected "daddy please" rhea whimpered face buried in between pillows as her hands scratched the bedsheets.
Becky was pounding her and after her 3rd orgasm rhea was turning into a puddle, one of her legs hoisted up in the bed and one still standing on the floor giving the man a gorgeous view and even a better angle to pound rhea's messy cunt with viscous intent.
"What is it baby? Too much for your pretty pussy to handle?" Like she cared, rhea loved when she got toyed with, her little submissive that liked to play pretend at being the alpha was now coming back to her true nature, a dumb messy snatch for daddy to put her dick on.
"Mmhm... t-too..." the build-up to another mind shattering orgasm was starting to leave her in that fuzzy little mindset where she let becky do anything she wanted with her body "too sensitive" she mumbled, her eyes shut aand her mouth hanging open.
"You're sucking me in princess, if you didn't want it your cunt wouldn't be so greedy" if it was possible becky fastened her pace hitting rhea's spot over and over again.
"Daddy... fu-fuck please i..." it was too much and too good her mind scrambling to form sentences as Becky pulled moans and whines out her "i-im... please" it was getting so hard to think.
"You gonna cum?" Becky chuckled mockingly "again?Going to make another mess on daddy's cock?" Rhea frantically nodded too lost to talk at this point "yeah? You gonna be a good girl, gonna wait until i give you permission?"
She wanted to speak up, really, but her brain was focused on the pulsing feeling of her cunt, zeroed on it, too worried about following daddy's instructions to respond. The best she could give her was a pitiful whine a pleading little sound becky knew all too well.
"Its okay sweet girl, just a little more" a wicked grin plastered on her face as one of her hands sneaked in between rhea's legs to play with her clit.
Rhea's body tensed, taut teetering in the edge of her 4th orgasm while becky played with her. A silent scream as her eyes rolled to the back of her head, waiting to be unleashed.
"Cum for me darling" with one more harsh trust she bottomed out just playing with rhea's clit to help her ride out the waves "there we go, good girl"
Tears fell directly onto the pillow ass her brain went numb, the pleasure making her see stars "soo good baby, such a good girl for me" Becky kept circling her clit until she went lax, body slumped against the mattress.
Her mind was fuzzy. Lost going back and forth in between consciousness and sleep. A feeling of emptiness half waking her as backy pulled out of her. "Gonna clean you up, love," that made her whine, too sensitive emotionally and physically to be left alone.
"No? You dont want daddy to leave you?" Becky started peppering kisses all over her back, "my poor baby, so tired." she sat beside rhea playing with her hair for a few minutes. "Come here," she dragged rhea's body on top of her, giving her the chance to hide and relax in the crook of her neck.
"Thank you, daddy," rhea mumbled against her skin, an effort to show becky she was okay before going back to the limbo in between sleep and earth

Christmas Party | C.C.
Tumblr media
Summary: you are invited to a Christmas party and you beg Christian to be your date to not look lonely to Jack.
Author's Note: I'm like in love with this story. 🥺🥰 Tried to make it funny and flirty. Hope I succeeded.
@theswitchbladessweetheart (hope you feel better ❤️)
@midwestmade29
@1dluver13xx
"Heeeeey it is my absolute favorite patriarch," you greeted seeing Christian backstage. He tensed at hearing your voice. Any time you greeted him that way you needed a favor. Nick chuckled and walked away giving you some privacy to talk. "Remember that favor you owe me for babysitting your daughter?"
"You mean that one time you were supposed to watch her for like five minutes while I cut a promo? And when I came back you spent five minutes looking for her because you forgot she was hiding for hide and seek?" He asked with a raised eyebrow. Of course the grumpy old man remembered the bad part. Typical.
"That very time, yeah, good, you remember. Listen, I was invited to a Christmas party and I need a date. Are you free on Friday night?" you told him. He looked at you puzzled. Christian never thought you would want to be with him outside of wrestling business.
"Why do you need a date exactly?"
"I just do, please, I will do anything,"
"Seriously? What is this high school?" Christian muttered and walked away. You yelled at him to wait and stood in front of him to block him. He rolled his eyes and looked at you. An amused yet annoyed look on his face. You had a few seconds to plead your case.
"I asked everyone else and they said no,"
"Who did you ask?"
"Max"
"And what happened?"
"He slammed the door in my face. I asked Roddy and he said he was going with Adam. Well, actually, he yelled Adam's name so I'm not sure. HOOK and Orange just stared at me while eating chips. I promise it will be worth your while,"
"Why?"
"A certain curly haired Jungle Boy will be there," you sung. The Captain Charisma figured it out. You didn't want Jack to see you alone while he had Anna.
Christian stared at you in deep thought. His blue eyes dazzled in delight. Jack would certainly not like seeing you with him. He simply nodded and told you he would text you when it's closer.
🎄
"And you still don't think he has a crush on you?" Skye questioned while looking at your reflection in the mirror. She agreed to help you with your hair and makeup. You never agreed for her to give you the third degree.
Ever since she made it to your apartment you were bombarded with questions about tonight. She started to sound like a parent. Every time she brought up Christian liking you, you shut it down. He was just doing it to mess with Jack nothing more or less. A point you frequently brought across.
"He's doing this to piss off Jack. He wasn't going to say yes until I told him he was coming," you insisted.
"Don't take this the wrong way but you are a blind idiot," she insulted.
"Oh good because I was immediately going to take that as a compliment," you scoffed.
"He trained you and was always there for you when Jack dumped you for Anna. What are we missing here, girl?"
"He is just really nice. I was his manager for a while and babysat his kid,"
"Are you really flexing on that time you lost his daughter because you forgot you were playing hide and seek with her?"
"It was one time and the new season of Stranger Things just came out!"
"And trust me he trained you because he wanted to be closer to you,"
"He wants younger talent to succeed. I bet if Kyle asked Christian would happily help him,"
"Kyle did ask him over text. Christian sent a screenshot of his cash app username and said he isn't a charity,"
You tried to hide a laugh. A pissed off Skye would not help your situation. A knock on your front door ended your conversation. The butterflies in your stomach now in full force. Despite always having a crush on him you honestly never saw anything from him. You looked in the mirror one last time.
"I look great. How can I ever repay you?"
"If I ever ask you for relationship advice please don't give it to me or remind me to do the opposite of what you say," she joked. You shot her a glare and stood up.
You called out that you were coming to the door and opened the door to see Christian. The man before you was dressed to the nines for the Christmas party. Long gone were the tights, t-shirts, and velvet sweater. Now he wore a tuxedo with a blue tie that made his eyes pop.
"You ready?" He asked leaning against the doorframe. A smirk tugged his lip as he saw you staring at him.
"Have her home by ten, Cage, I know where you work," Skye called out and winked at him. He smiled back at her.
🎄
"What a gentleman," you teased when he held the door open for you. He grabbed your hand and helped you out of the car.
"I'm not the little boys you are used to dating," he joked and closed the door behind you. He adjusted his jacket and tie before taking your arm around his.
"Really selling this, Christian, I knew you were a good choice,"
"Well I have to pay you back for that poor excuse you call babysitting," he chuckled. You slapped his arm playfully as he walked you to the backyard. His hand placed securely at the small of your back. "Let's get this party started,"
The backyard had curtains of Christmas lights covering the fence. A hot chocolate bar with assorted Christmas treats laid neatly on a wooden table. A DJ played a mix of Christmas songs and other assorted hits. A projector displayed a Christmas movie. Different Christmas games were spread out to get the guests to mingle with one another. Pillows and blankets of different styles laid around the yard to ensure maximum comfort.
"Isn't this amazing?" You asked and looked at him. His hand was pressed to his forehead. His blue eyes squinted as if he was looking intently at something.
"I think one of the lights on that curtain doesn't work,"
🎄
The night wore on with you trying to avoid Anna and Jack. It was pretty easy. Jack stayed on his phone on a bench. He mindlessly scrolled as if that was the only thing going on. Every so often he would stare at you with Christian. He glared at you if you happened to meet his gaze. Anna stayed inside the house complaining about Jack.
"Do you mind if we dance?" You asked expecting a no. Jack used to never want to dance with you. Any time you went out you had to dance with your friends. Christian looked at the dance floor and back at you. He took one last drink from his beer.
"Fine but don't get intimidated by my dance skills," he accepted your invitation.
"Wait, really?" You asked and smiled wildly. He grabbed your hand and led you to the dance floor. He spun you around before placing an arm securely around your waist. His other hand grabbed yours.
The music played softly through the speakers. You were glad the song wasn't too fast. He was surprisingly a good dancer and easy to follow. The man certainly had many talents.
"You look beautiful tonight," he whispered in your ear. "I forgot to say that earlier,"
"Are you saying I'm not beautiful on most nights?" you giggled and looked in his eyes. "You are not so bad looking yourself,"
He spun you around and pulled you closer to him. You wondered if he was trying to sell this to Jack or if Skye could be right. A part of you wanted the latter. You just needed a sign. Anything to prove that maybe you weren't just another wrestler to him. You would get your wish shortly after.
He placed his forehead against yours. His blue eyes stared into yours as if to read your reaction. When he noticed you didn't pull away he placed his other hand to your hip. You placed your hands on his head running them down to his neck. Your hands rested on his shoulders.
"Christian, you don't have to do this," you whispered. "I don't want you to feel uncomfortable,"
"He's not looking. It's just you and me," he confided in you. "If you want me to stop I will,"
"Please don't stop," you pulled his jacket so he was closer to you. You could barely hear the music with how loud your heart was pounding. Your cheeks burned brightly. With the help of your high heels, your lips pressed against his. He stood in shock momentarily before kissing you back.
Growing up you always read about a spark when you kissed the right one. You always told yourself that the spark would eventually ignite when you were with Jack. After the break up you were sure it was just a fairytale. Now maybe it was time to live your own real life fairytale.
He looked at his Apple Watch and sighed.
"It's Adam. I gotta take this call. Don't go anywhere," he apologized and kissed your forehead. He walked inside to a quieter place to take the phone call. You walked to the hot chocolate bar to warm up a little.
🎄
"Seriously? The whole you bringing one of my ex-friends to not look lonely is a little pathetic," Jack sneered. You jumped not expecting him to bother you. He was so adamant about not being anywhere near you. "Can't find someone your own age?"
"You cheated on me with one of my closest friends and I'm pathetic?" You asked bitterly. Not only did your friendship with Anna end but your relationship with Jack. "You and I clearly have different definitions of pathetic,"
"You being the type of person to fuck around with anyone in the business just proves that leaving your ass was the best choice i could’ve ever made,”
Tears immediately sprung into your eyes. This was exactly what used to happen while dating him. He made outlandish claims against you. Things that were never true but still hurt. The party was no longer fun for you. Maybe you could text Christian to meet you at the car.
"Want to say it again, Perry?" Christian asked from behind Jack. The younger wrestler turned to see his now enemy and ex mentor. Everyone knew he would never repeat himself after getting choked out by CM Punk after an altercation back in August. He was more respectful to the veterans to their face. "Come on, Y/N. We are getting out of here,"
You slowly walked past Jack and into Christian's arms. He pulled you in for a hug and kissed the top of your head. His arms felt so safe like he could save you from anything and everything. The sound of his heartbeat calming you.
"Oh, and Jack, go fuck yourself," he hissed. He took your hand and led you back to the car leaving a shocked Jungle Boy in the backyard.

One thing that has really interested me as of late has been the development of the Miraculous Shanghai special. Looking at all the old promo art, it seems to have changed a lot. For starters, it was originally called "The Chinese Legend" and was seemingly going to have Master Fu in it
Tumblr media
(Makes me wonder if it was initially going to relate to the Order of the Guardians in some way since it doesn't give a clear location)
Also, it seems that there was going to be what appears to be a spirit dragon that looks like it would've played a major role with how often it appears in promo art
Tumblr media
On top of that, when I went to the Wiki to get those images, I found these
Tumblr media Tumblr media
And I honestly don't know what to say about them other than that the New York special influence was strong.
I could definitely see that the Shanghai Special was potentially more about the Order and Fu. Makes sense given it's related to China. And if it potentially would've been an exploration on Fu, his origins, and on the Order.
Which makes me wonder what the earlier plan was, especially as it doesn't feel like they really had sentimonsters planned from the start, and I don't know about you guys, but I didn't like Fu's origins. So I wonder if they had something else in mind and made changes. As with most of ML's concepts, those ideas were probably better.
As I do think the Chinese Special should've been the place to reveal and introduce the Zodiac Miraculous and where they came from (as it didn't make Fu look good having 16-17 Miraculous and gave out the very two HM wanted), that dragon could've been a protector of them, seeking a worthy Guardian to take on the Zodiac. Could even be the dragon kwami spiritually manifested. Which a whole Zodiac of powerful Miraculous sealed away makes more sense than the Prodigious that just has you transforming into 8 animals, which you can't even control unless you're virtuous. Very dangerous indeed.
Or that dragon it could've been a rare instance of just seeing another magical creature, work off Thomas' older claim that there was other magic out there than just Miraculous.
As for the heroes, I am kinda glad they didn't make it in. I don't like those designs. I can roll with the idea that every country/state/city could have their own hero, but they really do just roll out too much.
Speaking of Specials, I remember that, supposedly, that we were going to see the Turtle's power in the Christmas Special, and hearing that Chris Master was the original Christmas Special, I wonder if that was originally where we were supposed to see Carapace for the first time, and Nino was going to be the first temporary hero to be seen. And that would've been his time to really shine. Though it also could've been our first intro to Jade, seeing what Turtle could do in a fight, and potentially Chat's way of meeting Fu (though as Jade instead), and maybe that's the point where Fu's like, ok, I really am too old for this, you guys do temp heroes.
Either option sounds better than what we got in canon.

It's true that Scooter is an opportunist but you did not really touch up how he's heavily involved in JK's promotion. That man has literally made Jk his personal project. I understand that one of the probable things that they're doing that is to compensate for the changes in Billboard rules, but what does that tell you? He and BangPD are ready to give JK the world now just to get that #1. they literally gave JK a song for free and are handing everything to him, no sweat for the maknae. So it's okay if JK gets the special treatment? What sets him apart? I doubt Tae will get the same promotion because Scooter doesn't give a shit about him. If Tae does not get the same promotion, what then?
***
Hi Anon,
Normally, this is the sort of ask I'd delete because it's a waste of time to repeat myself. But I want to use your ask as an example of the hate thrown towards Jungkook, and Anon if you're remaining active in ARMY spaces, of someone who simply isn't being honest with themselves about what they are.
Like I said, Jungkook's promo style is consistent with what BTS has done so far for exclusively English releases promoted only in America/Europe, and so if Tae does this, he should get similar promotions for his roll-out. There are exceptions too, for example, BTS went on NPR Tiny Desk and BBC Radio 1 live, Jungkook didn't attend NPR Tiny Desk (possibly impacted by the writers strike) but Namjoon did, while Jungkook instead is doing a BBC radio 1 live. With the BB rule change, possibly all releases going forward will have more of a hybrid push, even for Korean releases.
We'll see.
Feel free to mark this post to check back in ~6 months.
But that's not really what you're asking, is it?
"He and BangPD are ready to give JK the world now just to get that #1."
'...giving JK the world' in this case being BTS Western style promotions, and yeah I'm glad they're doing it. I see a win for any BTS member as a win for BTS. As cliche as it sounds, that's how I genuinely feel. Obviously.
"they literally gave JK a song for free and are handing everything to him, no sweat for the maknae."
Funny thing is this reminds me of the drags Yoongi and Jimin solos were trading two months ago - about how Jimin got 'handed' remixes and what not, while Yoongi mostly produced his own stuff; and Jimin solos retorting with pics of Yoongi's song camp in the big house when he got stuck putting together the album. It's just such an ignorant and hateful thing to say lmao. Yeah Jungkook, like Beyonce, got a song from his agency. I personally don't care for the song, but he seems to like it, feels it matches with the image and message he wants to convey at this point, and he did a good job on it. Jimin, for FACE, wanted a more personal involvement and that's fantastic as well.
"So it's okay if JK gets the special treatment?"
If by special treatment you mean an exclusively English release getting the typical BTS treatment, then yeah. I actually don't mind it. Jungkook has been extremely vocal about the grand plans he has for his solo album, for years. I don't even bias him and I know that. He's also got good English pronunciation, has an easily marketable image already, and a literal ARMY of fans (I'm assuming not including Anon) in the US. When other members want that and are prepared for it, they'll get it. Just as when other members want to do a solo tour as Yoongi did, and are prepared for it, they'll get it. Because, you know, we can all see Yoongi getting a tour isn't 'special treatment', it's more consistent with how the group has always operated.
Basically Anon, you're angry, bitter, and overly invested in a situation over which you have almost none of the information and absolutely no control over the outcome. You've made up your mind that everything that Jungkook is getting should actually have gone to the member you bias, regardless of the nuances or context around each release. That's a recipe for disaster and misery a.k.a. turning into an akgae if you aren't one already.
Overall, this idea of dick measuring promotions between the members, is an exercise in futility IMO. To what end exactly, are you lining up their choices? Like, what's the play here? /gen.
There's much ado about parasocial relationships in k-pop, but people usually just toss that word around without actually understanding what it means. Anon, I suggest you find a way to process your emotions and be honest with yourself about what you actually know, why you're feeling the way you are, and what that means for you going forward. This has practically nothing to do with Scooter, or Bang PD, or Jungkook, or even Jimin. It's 100% to do with you.

There truly wasn't a more rewarding feeling for Caroline than peeling off her scrubs at the end of a long day. During her time off where she had been apart of a large global research project investigating the possibilities of electron powered beams becoming more mainstream and not being restricted to highly specialised treatment sites, the thing she had missed most was interacting with patients. They were the reason she became interested in the career in the first place.
Getting to witness the difference she made in her patients lives was what motivated her to keep going everyday, no matter how stressful things got. That kind of feeling couldn't be matched in academic work where you didn't actually get to see the way your research could change somebody's prognosis. Knowing that her actions literally saved lives fuelled her, pushed her to keep advocating for her patients ensuring their needs were met.
On her way out of the hospital Caroline chatted idly to one of the other girls who worked on her unit, groaning internally when she caught sight of the rain pelting against the path staining it a deep grey with an unrivalled ferocity - so much for it supposedly being summer. She was not looking forward to walking back to the studio in this downpour without an umbrella.
Somehow the universe must have heard the string of explicit insults running through her mind because suddenly, like a mythical apparition of sorts, Louis pulls up in a car she recognises to be Matty's and he comes to a startling halt at the side of the road. Offering a quick goodbye to Mara, Caroline doesn't hesitate to jump into the empty passenger seat of the car and get shelter from the torrent drenching her clothes.
"I would ask what you're doing here, but boy am I glad to see you so I won't," were the first words that left Caroline's mouth once she closed the door.
"Matty sent me," Louis said bluntly, as if tossing a casual bombshell into the conversation. Caroline's heart gave an involuntary flutter, a reaction she quickly masked behind a raised eyebrow.
Louis was so brusque with his delivery sometimes. As if he isn't fully aware of how Caroline won't spend the rest of the ride home figuring out what his intention was. She doesn't want to read too much into it. To allow herself even entertain feelings she's trying to keep under lock and key.
“Oh, really?" Caroline responded with a calculated nonchalance, though her mind was already racing, attempting to decipher the motives behind Matty's unexpected gesture. She mentally chastised herself for even contemplating the idea that it might be more than just a thoughtful offer.
Louis seemed unperturbed by her reaction, his fingers tapping a rhythm on the steering wheel. "Yeah, he wanted to come and get you himself when he noticed it had started pouring, but him and George have been stuck doing album promo all day. So, he thought he'd spare you the rain."
The sweetness of the gesture tugged at Caroline's heartstrings, but she quickly reined in her emotions. She had learned to keep her feelings in check, to guard her heart against the unexpected. "Oh, that was kind of him," she replied, her tone nonchalant, though a soft warmth settled in her chest. "I appreciate you coming, Lou. Even if it is extremely embarrassing that the kid I used to babysit is driving me home."
Louis laughed, a sound that was a blend of amusement and camaraderie. "Trust me, Caro, I'm getting a kick out of it too. Ten times right?"
Caroline smirked at the memory, it was genuinely impressive how many times she'd failed. Poor Hann had been an absolute saint and she was still making it up to him to this day by buying his drinks whenever they hung out. "Uncalled for," she shook her head playfully "you don't see me bringing up the November 2014 incident at any given moment do you?."
Louis paled "yeah no, let's repress that memory again thanks."
The drive continued in comfortable silence, the sound of rain pattering against the windows providing a soothing backdrop to their conversation. Caroline's gaze wandered out to the city streets, her thoughts a mixture of gratitude and confusion. She couldn't help but replay Louis' words in her mind, dissecting the intentions behind them.
"Actually, Lou," she began, her tone casual but laced with curiosity, "I've been meaning to ask...is there any particular reason why I've been coming home to dinner everyday. Not that I'm complaining or anything, it's actually pretty good."
Louis glanced at her with a sly grin, his eyes twinkling mischievously. "Oh, you mean aside from the fact that Matty seems to think you're incapable of eating or getting home without some sort of assistance?"
Caroline rolled her eyes, her cheeks flushing slightly. "Oh, come on. I'm perfectly capable of taking care of myself."
Louis chuckled again, a knowing look in his eyes. "I don't doubt that for a second, Caro. But you've got to admit, he's kind of got a point. You're a bit of a workaholic."
Caroline sighed, her lips curving into a reluctant smile. "Fine, I'll give him that much. But it's not like I'm incapable of cooking or getting home. He's just... being overly nice."
Louis smirked, a teasing edge to his voice. "Overly nice, huh? Is that what we're calling it now?"
Caroline couldn't help but laugh, shaking her head at Louis' playful antics. "You're a troublemaker, you know that?"
Louis shrugged nonchalantly, his grin unapologetic. "Someone's got to keep things interesting. And well, you guys have been very entertaining recently.
"How so?" Caroline quirked an eyebrow playing dumb.
He leaned back against the car headrest, his expression seemingly permanently mischievous now. "Well, I hate to break it to you, but you and Matty are starting to look a lot like an old married couple."
Caroline burst out laughing, her cheeks flushing slightly. "Oh, come on, Louis. Don't be ridiculous."
Louis grinned, clearly enjoying her reaction. "I'm serious! I mean, the way he's making you coffee every morning, late night chats,  cooking dinner for you... It's all very domestic, isn't it?"
Caroline shook her head, trying to suppress her laughter. "You're reading way too much into it, Louis. We're just friends."
"Sure, just friends," Louis replied, his tone dripping with sarcasm. "I've seen couples with less chemistry, that's all I'm saying."
Caroline rolled her eyes, unable to hide her amusement. "Louis, you're impossible."
He winked at her, his grin widening. "Hey, just looking out for my honorary and hopefully future big sister. Make me best man at the wedding yeah?"
Caroline couldn't help but chuckle at Louis' antics . "Trust me, there's nothing going on between us. Although in the hypothetical scenario that there was...you and G are probably fighting for that title."
Louis gave her a mock salute. "Rude, here I was thinking I was your favourite brother. But don't say I didn't warn you when Matty starts insisting on holding hands and sharing a toothbrush."
Caroline shook her head, laughing softly. "You're incorrigible."
Louis opened his arms in a dramatic gesture. "Hey, I'm just here to provide quality entertainment."
Upon their return to the studio they discover that Matty and George aren't home. Caroline is worried momentarily until she notices that Mayhem is also gone and since the rain has just cleared up she figures they've just brought him for a walk. Louis promptly busies himself with calling back his mum, leaving Caroline to eat dinner alone.
She's extremely touched when she unwraps the tinfoil covering a blue ceramic dish left by the stove for her. The boys seem to take turns with cooking meals but she can tell that this is Matty's handywork as soon as she unveils it. As much as he takes the piss out of her for constantly eating vegan dishes while not actually being a vegan he seems to make an effort and actually go out of his way to respect it when he is responsible for making dinner. And in perhaps the most surprising turn of events since the beginning of lockdown - he's actually turned into a half decent cook.
These altered dynamics and sudden domesticity was like finding the missing pieces of a puzzle she hadn't realised was incomplete. With every smile he offered, every inside joke they shared, a new piece fell into place, revealing a picture she had ripped up years ago and buried deep down. His presence filled the gaps she had never acknowledged, his laughter stitching together the moments of joy she had overlooked. Each stolen glance, each shared silence, they were like intricately carved fragments that slid seamlessly into the mosaic of emotions she held for him.
Her mind wandered back to the days when she was engaged, when she believed she had found her forever. The memories were tinged with a bittersweet taste now, as if a layer of clarity had been added to the recollections of her past. And as the pieces fell into place, she couldn't help but acknowledge the stark contrast between her past and her present.
It was a truth that, once seen, couldn't be unseen. Matty's reappearance in her life had been a revelation. One that had dug up her past affections and put them on display again. She had made such an effort once she finally realised that she was never going to be anything more than George's little sister and a fan to him to move on and get over him. Yet as fate would have it he had ambushed her heart once again. It was never overly grand gestures but Caroline had never been keen on overdramatic declarations of love, it was the little things, the daily acts of kindness that wove a tapestry of warmth around her.
The realisation dawned on her with a quiet ache—the depth of effort Matty put into making her feel special was unlike anything she had experienced before. From the mornings when he ensured there was a steaming cup of coffee waiting for her to the evenings where they would bring Mayhem out on long walks along the winding, isolated country roads never shutting up, to the times where he did his interviews in the same room as her when she had time off work because he valued her company even if her mere presence did distract him constantly, he consistently showed up for her in ways that her ex-fiancé never did.
It wasn't just the material gestures, though. It was the late-night conversations that brought solace, the unexpected text messages that brightened her day, and the moments of shared laughter that became the soundtrack of their newfound relationship? If you could call it that - it was a difficult thing to define, her and Matty. In his own way, he had dismantled the barriers she had built around herself, her walls had come crumbling down for the very man she had built them because of in the first place.
And as she compared the two timelines—the emptiness of her engagement versus the fullness of her current interactions—it was impossible to ignore the truth. Matty had effortlessly become a pillar of support, an unexpected source of comfort, and a friend who genuinely cared. Of course there was the added support network of George who really couldn't have been a better brother to her during one of the hardest times in her life and Louis as well. Still she marvelled at the reality that he had done more for her in these few months than her ex-fiancé had managed in their years together.
The studio was bathed in a soft, warm light as Caroline pushed open the door later that evening. Matty and George had come home sometime in the last two hours but Caroline had been completely in her own world and deeply engrossed in a book so she hadn't heard them get back. She had decided to drop in to the studio where she could hear that either Matty or George or perhaps both were currently to personally thank Matty for the meal he had prepared earlier and for sending Louis to pick her up from work. She knew the band's new album was about to be released, and she couldn't help but be amazed by the fact that, despite the imminent excitement, they were apparently already immersed in creating new music.
As she walked further into the studio, her eyes fell on Matty, engrossed in front of a mixing board. His fingers danced across the buttons and sliders with a practiced grace, his head nodding to an unheard rhythm. He seemed lost in his world of sounds and melodies, a world that she was slowly learning to appreciate and understand.
"Hey," she called out, her voice breaking through his concentration.
Matty turned to her, a warm smile lighting up his features. "Hey, Caro. Didn't expect to see you here tonight."
Caroline shrugged, a playful glint in her eyes. "Thought I'd drop by and thank you properly for dinner and the ride."
Matty's smile grew, his expression sincere. "You're welcome. It's the least I could do."
Caroline's gaze wandered around the studio, taking in the equipment and instruments that had become so familiar to her. "You're already working on new music? Even before the album's out?"
Matty chuckled softly, a hint of mischief in his eyes. "Can't really turn off the creativity, you know? Besides, I've got all these ideas buzzing in my head."
Caroline nodded, understanding the sentiment. "Well, I don't want to interrupt your creative flow, but I just wanted to say thanks."
Matty walked over to her, his fingers brushing lightly against her arm. "You didn't interrupt anything, Caro. I'm always up for a break."
He led her towards the mixing board, encouraging her to take a seat. "Ever played around with one of these?"
Caroline shook her head, her curiosity piqued. "Not really. I'm more on the receiving end of music, not the creating part."
Matty grinned, his eyes sparkling with a mix of excitement and anticipation. "Oh come on, you're G's sister you're bound to be a natural. How about we change that tonight? I'll show you the basics."
As he began explaining the different controls and how they impacted the sound, Caroline found herself engrossed in his words. There was something entrancing about the way he spoke about music, his passion evident in every gesture and expression. She tentatively adjusted some of the sliders under his guidance, a sense of accomplishment filling her when she heard the subtle changes in the mix.
"See like I said, you're a natural," Matty praised, his gaze fixed on her.
Caroline shrugged modestly, a smile tugging at her lips. "I've got a great teacher."
Matty's eyes held a warmth that sent a flutter through her chest. "You know, Caro, you've got a real talent for this. Maybe you missed your calling as a producer. You could give George a run for his money."
Caroline chuckled, the compliment making her heart skip a beat. "I think I'll stick to radiation therapy, but this is definitely a fun change of pace."
Matty's playful smile turned more serious, his eyes searching hers. "What you don't want to give up saving lives to mess around with your favourite band? Shocking," his voice grew more teasing at the end.
The intensity in his gaze sent a rush of emotions through her, and for a moment, the air between them felt charged with unspoken words. "But enough of the technical stuff for now," he declared with a grin. "How about we take a break and I play you something?"
Caroline's face lit up, and she eagerly agreed. Matty reached for his guitar, his fingers moving with practiced ease across the strings. The melody that flowed from the instrument was hauntingly beautiful, each note woven into the fabric of the studio's atmosphere.
Caroline closed her eyes, allowing the music to wash over her. It was as if the melody held a story, an untold narrative that resonated deep within her. And then, with a delicate flourish, Matty transitioned into a different progression, the notes taking on a more uplifting quality.
As the last chord lingered, Caroline opened her eyes and looked at Matty with an appreciative smile. "That was amazing," she murmured. "You have a gift, Matty."
Matty's cheeks tinged with a faint blush, and he rubbed the back of his neck sheepishly. "Thanks, Caro. I'm glad you liked it."
But Caroline wasn't done yet. "Actually," she said, her eyes lighting up, "could you play that last part again? It just... it evokes something in me."
Matty complied, his fingers gracefully replaying the progression. Caroline listened closely, allowing the melody to fill her senses. And then, almost instinctively, her lips parted, and she began to hum along with the music.
Matty's eyes widened, captivated by the unexpected harmony that emerged. He watched Caroline with fascination as she hummed, her expression lost in the music. When she finally stopped, he was almost disappointed, as if a spell had been broken.
"That was beautiful," Matty said softly, his gaze locked onto hers.
Caroline blushed, feeling a mixture of vulnerability and excitement. "Thank you. The melody just... spoke to me."
Matty's fingers idly strummed the guitar strings as he considered her words. "You know," he began slowly, "there's something about the way you hummed along that triggered an idea."
Caroline tilted her head, intrigued. "An idea? What kind of idea?"
A thoughtful smile played on Matty's lips. "I've been struggling to find the right lyrics for this piece. But when you hummed along, a line popped into my head." He paused for a moment, as if testing the words. And then, he looked at her with a newfound excitement. "I want to get it right this time."
Caroline blinked, taken aback by the simplicity and depth of those words. They held a resonance that seemed to mirror their own journey, their growing connection that defied their initial expectations. It was as if Matty had captured the essence of their shared emotions in that single line.
She smiled softly, her heart swelling with a mix of emotions. "That's... perfect," she said, her voice filled with genuine admiration. "It encapsulates so much."
Matty's grin was infectious, a reflection of his own satisfaction with the discovery. "I think you just helped me find the missing piece, Caro."
For once it seemed that Matty was the one who was staring and Caroline was the one who kept meeting her gaze with a grin. There was something about the way in which Matty looked at her. It was tender, sweet and even loving? Matty made her feel like she deserved to be loved and to be worthy of such a man's attention was mind blowing to her. How he'd managed to creep his way into Caroline's heavily guarded heart she didn't fully understand but at the same time she treasured his position there.
“Why are you looking at me like that?" Caroline dared to ask.
Matty appeared confused for a moment before answering "like what?"
"Like I'm someone special."
"You are someone special though," Matty replied with an air of nonchalance "especially to me."
Caroline was in complete disbelief "I don't see why. I don't exactly have the best track record of having people believe that."
Matty paused briefly "that might be your opinion," he told her softly "but beauty is subjective and I think you're fucking stunning. You have this aura around you Caroline, one that puts everyone at ease but could simultaneously entrance everyone. You're the type of person people fall in love with even if you or your idiot ex don't realise that."
“You don’t mean that,” Caroline laughed “right?”
It seemed as though she wasn’t going to get an answer though because her brother happened to have the worst timing in the world as he walked in to join them. Normally he was quite clued into the energy of a room but thankfully he didn’t pick up on the way Caroline practically jumped out of her skin at his sudden arrival or the way they immediately went silent upon him opening the door and sitting in between them. But from the look Matty sent her when George was fixated on the mixing board in front of him, she knew one thing. This conversation wasn’t over.

Note
I wanted to get your point of view on an issue. I've just been reading you, but your answers are always precise and intelligent, so I'll proceed! I'm not someone who likes to compare different works, or who gets stuck in one thing while denying the rest or what a biased part... but let's face it: the TIOY will probably only be saved due to Nicholas' singing performances. The plot is really obvious and banal (and I won't go into comparisons with Harry Styles because it's a real minefield) and honestly I haven't even seen this incredible chemistry with Anne (which was missing from the RWRB trailer immediately outside). I'll get to the point: I noticed that the two times Nicholas talked about the
project (the last one just the other evening) he seemed not totally at ease, contracted, not enthusiastic in short. The narrative of calling on his co-star Annie to show off the chemistry (I remember he didn't answer the famous question promptly, but said "I should probably say her") is obviously a PR move so I expect them to try to make pass it all off as something it isn't. So I think he is aware of the mediocrity of the product. I also found him cold for M&G but in that case it was clear that the matter had involved him anyway. I won't say anything about rwrb because his eyes speak for themselves. What do you think of all this? Thanks for the reply ❤️
Firstly thank you for the compliment, that's very kind of you 💕
I don't think it would be fair to judge TIOY so soon since the trailer's barely been out for a week, but I will say my own opinion on the project first:
I haven't read the book, frankly I don't have access to it, but while I don't hold any really negative thoughts regarding the premise, it isn't ... that exciting to me? Like it sounds fun, but I've read a fair amount of fics across fandoms with the same/similar premise. Plus from my Chinese celebrity experience, it kind of feels like it's feeding into the "dreamgirl" mindset which I feel iffy about
I also don't see the "incredibly chemistry"with Anne, it's better than what I saw in Cinderella with Camila (that was really freaking felt like besties) and it's there, but it's not what I felt with rwrb (then again I'm not sure how objective I am) but then again, we only have the trailer, so we'll have to wait and see to make a fair judgement
I actually got an ask about Nick answering the chemistry question that I haven't gotten around answering (I've gotten a lot, and I mean a lot of asks these couple of days and I'm also a full time student 😅) so I'll probably answer this point in more detail in that ask, but basically while I don't know it's a complete lie and he did have some genuine connection with Anne, it might be slightly exaggerated because of promo/PR reasons.
Forgive me, but I don't really look too much into how they talk about their work unless it's blatantly obvious, so I won't comment on what you said about him being tenser.
As for M&G:
I don't think Nick's acting cold when it comes to M&G, but also please keep in mind that M&G is something VASTLY different to any of his previous projects.
I actually have thoughts on what M&G means to Nick: it was a really, really hard job, arguably his hardest to date, but he's happy with what came out and has a sense of satisfaction from the work done: Nick often describes the process of shooting M&G as "gruelling", and he got hurt a lot, A LOT on that set. Also a lot was demanded from him in that role: (mild spoilers for M&G till *) a complex character who's recognizable from who he was in the first episode, sleeping with a lot of people, fencing, dancing, speaking French, horse riding, falling off a horse and deliberately running into a tree, filming in a flaming forest, etc. It was a lot, and a job like this doesn't come with entirely happy memories. Like I do believe the cast and crew were great, and Nick made really good friends, but just what entailed definitely took a lot out of him. So I think he's happy with the final product, but if you have him summarize the project, I think he'd say something along "learned a lot", "fulfilling" rather than something like "a joy", what he used for rwrb. So Nick might have a little more complicated feelings towards M&G, but I really don't think it's entirely negative.
But rwrb is something entirely different. It arguably gained the most traction and caused one of the biggest positive changes in his career, and there's also a bunch of personal, private connections and emotions there that we don't know about. So while M&G is a roller coaster, RWRB is a mostly happy experience.
Althought disclaimer, all of the above if my observation from what Nick has said, posted or done, and my own understanding of it. I do not or cannot actually speak for Nick.
I hope this helps? I think I might have gone off a tangent (I'm answering this while taking notes in a law lecture, fuck yeah multitasking 😅) so let me know if I missed something

Taemin leaving SM; a retrospective rant from a severely uneducated and overly caffeinated fan.
I have thoughts about Taemin leaving SM and by extention Onew too. Might as well drag Minho and Key into this.
Since this is majorly about Taemin, let's talk about him first.
Taemin & SM (pre-NGDA era)
Taemin has been with the company for 16 years, closer to 19 if you count his trainee days. As an older shawol (LLO-era, got me whipped BAD), it was seriously out of the blue that Taemin would be the first to debut solo. SM at the time (i.e in their prime) was a vocal powerhouse and I genuinely thought Jonghyun would be the first one to go solo. SM made the right decision dedicating time and resources in letting him shine and 'Ace' was a phenomenal debut album for Taemin and really stamped that 'Taemin vibe/sound' we all know and love' Generally speaking SM not the best for promotions/scheduling, but the company still had their shit together when 'Move' came out, it felt like it was everywhere and surpassed the noteriety Guilty had achieved. I feel like when Taemin does variety shows, up to now, Move was always the most referenced and remembered act, even amongst the junior idols, that he did and thats because SM did go hard on promoting that song and picked a quiet month to do that comback in.
Taemin vs SM (during/post-NGDA era)
Somewhere along the lines, SM really dropped the ball with promoting Act 1 especially during Taemin's 'Criminal' comeback. They heavily prioritized their newer groups and suddenly their legendary acts were getting shafted with poor promotions and what felt like less dedicated management and resources. I recall, SM postponed the release for Criminal, squashed Taemin in Super-M activties and focused on their new acts while simultaneously over working them (honestly Mark has had such a hectic few years). My internal speculation/assumtion is that, SM figured that acts like SuJu, EXO, SHINee, GG and RV and solo/ duo units, wouldn't need as much dedicated promotions because they are iconic acts and they are fully dependant on fanbases to generate the buzz. Which leads me to my main hypothesis that after a few years of being active, SM really does not care about an artist anymore. Mind you artists that put them on the fucking map to begin with. SM won't double down on these artists because they believe they can't appeal to a younger audience. With the shitshow that was the Criminal promotions. SM really didn't do any better with 'Advice'. Pinning aespa's comeback a day before was a low blow instead of focusing on the talent that's about to go into the military, if they are aware enough to give Taemin a mini comeback so his relevancy sticks throughout his service, why damage it with an aespa release (that felt like it was to tactically avoid facing off the BTS release later than month) and basically doing NOTHING bar announcing pre-orders. Then we enter the 'Guilty' era. Which as we saw was a hit, but mainly because SM capitalized on the power of social media trends, placing Taemin in VARIOUS online contents and slowly dropped related media during winter. I mean we are still not over his 'Guilty' era, the Metamorph concert still has us at a chokehold. I 'd like to think that Taemin became more vocal in what he wanted and expected out of SM when he came back. Obviously the priority to them is/was SHINee and that's fair. DCM did really well with promos (althoughlike most shawols would say, LSM did have a major part to play with that). HOWEVER it was their 15th anniversary comeback last year and I feel like SM treated it like it was just another comeback instead of a major milestone. There were no interviews or press releases for Hard, when events were happening, it felt like it was gate kept to just local fans, like it made me feel like I was living under a rock because it was so last minute and I was not aware of anything. I want to believe that just because SM did an okay job now, excuses them for the last 3 years. What's worse is it's undeniable, Taemin lives to perform and it's no secret he sets some high goals and standard for himself and probably the toll 1) not getting to preform Guilty in GDA, despite wanting to and 2) probably not getting a solid backing for touring globally, despite very vocal fan support. I am not sure if anyone saw that SM forecast for the first two quarters of 2024, but it genuinely feels like Taemin knows that him and SHINee will not be a priority after promotions are finished. I hope I am not dense enough to assume that obviously SHINee has spoken about this privately and internally for a while now. It's really something you can't avoid talking about. Taemin has spoken to his hyungs, people in his circle inside and outside of the industry. Hopefully he is well informed and supported and it seems definite that SHINee is still active as a group.
Key vs SM.
Someone has already mentioned it but if anyone was leaving SM for creative freedom, I genuinely thought it would be Key. 'Bad Love' was an amazing release and Key fought with SM to release with his own brand/aesthetic. Because Taemin's imminent departure is so publicized, SM might be keeping the talks with Minho and Key super under wraps and trying to offer a btter deal. Although recently, bar Good and Great, SM has been using Key as a 'Variety' idol than an actual singer, which sucks because Key is super talented and if SM doesn't recognize that star power now, good luck to them. Also apparently, Kany is signed with BPM? I know she is close with SHInee in general, but I would assume it'd be Key joining her ya'know?
Minho vs SM.
Imma put it out there, the promotions for 'Stay for a Night' was lackluster? I feel like they treat solo Minho and SHINee Minho as two separate entities. Like yes there is a dualism of being a group preformer vs solo preformer. But on the rare occasion SHINee does get promoted Minho seems to get more attention, but as a solo artist, I don't feel the same love for his solo promotions. I hope Minho gets to write and contribute more, which I believe he does in the background. If he does stick to SM, I pray they open other avenues of artistry, primarily, he does really well with his acting roles and yes it really helps that he does fit the 'K-drama ML' look.
Onew vs SM
I feel like Onew gets the short-end of the stick out of the rest of SHINee, never mind that the man has the voice of an angel, but again, he is another one that SM never bothered to market right. It kind of make sense that he would want to leave the company and seek ones that would expand his career inside and outside of singing and while the one good thing SM did recently is make sure Onew was healing and taking care of himself, recent SHINee promo activities feels like they are treating Onew's break as a hush hush 'taboo topic' Honestly, bring back the era where our idols would randomly disappear during promotions because they were casted to be on-stage again. I am still forever clinging onto Onew singing opera, because despite him not being trained for that, he has the talent to do so. It'd be nice to hear him produce his own music, or give acting another shot.

thoughts on the Barbie movie
Finally got around to seeing the Barbie movie -- I think some of its messaging could have been clearer, but on the whole it was a lot of fun, and one of the most visually-innovative things I've seen onscreen in ages. So much stuff these days bills itself as "deconstruction," when more often than not it's just a mean-spirited mockery of something the writers don't actually understand. The Barbie movie is deconstruction done right, by people who are deeply in the know about the material (which in this case equals the entire Barbie mythos/ideology), and love it anyway, warts and all. Good deconstruction is both a critique and a love letter.
The theme that the movie understands and communicates most clearly is about the impossible, contradictory directives that are constantly put on women -- "you need to be assertive, but you mustn't be a bitch", etc -- and how unfair it is that half the population isn't given the same respect and the same chance at success. Barbieland flips the script so that the Kens are the empty-headed ornaments while Barbies run the world (which I suspect is what made a lot of men so viscerally uncomfortable with the movie), but that's also eventually recognized to be just as unfair as the Real World where patriarchy reigns.
What's a lot muddier is the messaging around how exactly men participate in the patriarchal oppression of women, and how the patriarchy harms them too. Because patriarchy is a pyramid scheme -- and not all men are on the top of that pyramid, nor can they all be. It convinces men to strive for an unattainable ideal of masculinity (not unlike the unattainable ideal that Barbie represents for femininity, actually!) and then penalizes those who fall short for not being "man enough," and paints it as a personal failing, not one that's baked into the system.
A lot of the gags around Ken Discovers Toxic Masculinity legitimately had me in stitches, because oh my god, too true, but then it didn't really offer any conclusions about it. Granted, this is the Barbie Movie not the Ken Movie, and he already gets more of a character arc than female love interests usually do, so I'm not going to rend my garments all "BUT WHAT ABOUT THE MENNNNS??"..... but if you're not going to follow through on toxic masculinity, then maybe better to leave that particular can of worms unopened. There's more than enough for feminism to talk about without it.
Personally, I would have preferred if Ken weren't an antagonist -- if he'd just been the supportive himbo boyfriend who cheerfully follows Barbie on her journey of self-discovery, and backs her every play, and has never had a mean thought in his empty head, which is kind of what the promo materials led me to expect -- but that would have been an entirely different plot. (Possibly one in which Ken encounters the real world and finds that the men there think he should tone down his self-expression (for coming off as too GAY) and be less of a simp for his girlfriend, and he's like, Wow that sounds terrible actually, no thank you!)
In any case, I don't envy the women who are now having uncomfortable conversations with their husbands and boyfriends who got mad about the movie and went on the offensive. Because this is not a movie that softshoes its message to coddle to men's fee-fees -- its male characters are largely mocked and/or marginalized, and I imagine that a lot of men who saw it, and who haven't ever examined their privilege, came out of it feeling personally attacked, and reflexively wanted to attack it in turn and reject everything it's saying.
To which I'm like… y'all need to sit with your feelings for a minute. Remember that one movie taking the piss out of men does not actually make a single dent in the power and privilege that men enjoy in the real world. And then think about the fact that media BY men (which is most of it) routinely treats women the same way -- frivolous and sidelined, ornaments and sex objects. And the fact that we consider that the normal way of things -- that women are expected to watch themselves being portrayed like that and enjoy it.
(A line that I think should have gotten more weight is at the end when Barbie says, "I want to be the one doing the making, not the thing being made," because it's such a clear, straightforward articulation of the subject vs. object distinction.)
Storytelling-wise (to put on my nerd-for-narrative hat), the third act of the movie runs into difficulty with the fact that this is not about human characters, but about anthropomorphized archetypes of femininity and masculinity -- and how do you write a narratively satisfying "ending" for things that don't actually end? And how do you do that within the context of not just a doll world, but the Barbie world, with a gender-unequal status quo that isn't actually going to change either? With the conflicts they set up, I'm not sure there was a wholly satisfactory way to end it.
But anyway, none of that detracted from my enjoyment of the movie -- it's fun, heartfelt, thought-provoking, a continuous source of pleasure and novelty for the eyeballs, and consistently hilarious. Definitely worth the watch.
(And if you want some feminist-themed media that does do a complex exploration of how the patriarchy fucks men over too, even the men who think they're winning at it, I recommend Agent Carter, it is so so good. (The first season, anyway. 😑) There are five notable male characters in it, and the only one having a good time is the one who's declined to buy into society's narrow idea of what constitutes acceptable masculinity.)

Okay, why the hell not? For the Dune promo, my head had come up with a story about Jack without asking, for various reasons though it never made it completely onto paper.
But now that it's Jack's birthday... I thought maybe I'd just post the beginning as a birthday present… lol
But don’t worry, Jack, it’s rather harmless, I would say.
The shield that you own
*
Jack grabbed Tim under the arms to hold him better. Even though Tim was as light as a feather, they were all uncontrollably heavy when drunk. Tim giggled at the contact, his head falling heavily onto Jack's shoulder.
"What kind of bodyguard are you? ... Are you trying to tickle me to death? You should know by now that I'm ticklish!" Tim's voice was slurred and mumbling and the tone became childish and provocative, when he continued, "You could carry me...?"
Without responding, Jack dragged Tim further through the hotel room door, half supporting, half pulling, under his arm, around his waist, just where his balance was giving way, while trying not to lose Tim’s jacket that he already had taken off. Of course, he could have carried him instead, this skinny little creature who was nevertheless lighter when drunk than some when sober, but there was more than one reason to avoid it.
Out of the corner of his eye, he saw Tim curl his lips into an exaggerated pout. "You're never any fun, Jack!"
Jack raised his eyebrows as if to say "Really?" but ignored Tim's comment apart from that as well as Tim's far-too-close lips, from which a whiff of tequila emanated, and concentrated instead on getting Tim to the bed.
They were in Mexico city, a huge premiere of Dune 2 in this huge city had just taken place this evening and the after party hadn't been wild, but it had apparently been enough to make Tim giggle uncontrollably. Sometimes it didn't take much for the adulation of the masses to get him drunk. First the senses were hyped, wide smile, wide eyes, wide talk, than followed giddy drunkenness.
At the bed, Jack let go of Tim so he could fall onto the bed, but Tim didn't let go of him, so Jack toppled over with him. He tried to catch himself with his hands, but he couldn't catch his whole body, so his face brushed Tim's cheek and his nose buried deep down in those god damn dark curls.
Tim giggled beneath him. And Jack decided to give himself a millisecond. They were familiar with each other, very familiar, also physically, and yet this closeness always did something to him.
The soft tickle of the curls on his skin and the smell of Jamie's hair styling products in his nose made Jack close his eyes for another millisecond.
Then the two milliseconds were over and he sat up again, ignoring the vague tugging in his body, heart as loins, instead lifted Tim's legs onto the bed and set about removing his boots while Tim rolled on the bed and grumbled like a drunken teen.
It wasn't that often that Tim got drunk, but it wasn't the first time either. Jack knew Tim liked the buzz, even if he was too worried to indulge in it too often.
In a fit of energy Tim humped the bed, “Goddd… Austin was looking sex-ayyy tonight, right? Wanted to fuck him right there.”
Jack ignored the comment, pulled on the second boot and placed it next to the bed.
Tim lifted his head and looked at him, "I can't believe you put them on the floor, instead of just letting them fall!" He sounded somehow shocked, admiring and teasing at the same time.
Jack laughed. He liked it when Tim made fun of him, it was always... affectionate.
But then Tim closed his eyes again and Jack could see the buzz working in his head. He let his gaze linger on Tim's face.
The face of an innocent angel. He resisted the impulse to brush a curl of hair from this face. The angel was not meant for him.
It was time to go.
Jack adjusted his jacket, "Do you need anything?" With the last of his strength, Tim straightened up, grabbed Jack's arm and pulled him onto the bed so that Jack ended up lying next to him. "Don't go," Tim's breath hitched against Jack’s face. Again Jack closed his eyes for a moment. He had been so determined that it wouldn't happen again and now he had to admit to himself that he had only deceived himself.
For a while they just lay there, Tim breathing, searching his way through the grogginess, Jack watching him, feeling the gentle ripples of air on his face with every breath Tim took…
When Tim's head carousel seemed to slow down a little, Tim laid his hands on Jack's face. "It was awesome, wasn't it?" His eyes opened briefly before closing again. "All those crowds..." Yes, the fans, the crowds, the masses... Tim loved that. Bathing in the crowd, being admired by the masses. The crowd electrified him, turned him on. Made him horny. And now the thought of it was apparently enough to reawaken his sex drive.
Tim rubbed his crotch lightly against Jack's thigh. An audible gasp.
Jack bit his lower lip. Then another rub.
Tim's breathing a little louder this time, Tim's cock noticeably harder.
The desire spread through Tim's tired body, waking him up, making him more alert and horny by the second until it finally took over. Tim swung himself over Jack, propped himself up with his hands to the right and left of Jack, his head lowered, his curls in free fall, and looked at him with a glazed expression. He looked so beautiful, so hot. Jack couldn't say it any other way. It wasn't his fault he was getting weak. Tim lowered his pelvis, rubbing against his, pressing their hard cocks together. Almost automatically Jack went to Tim's cock, squeezed it through his pants and Tim groaned. Jack knew what this was all about, what Tim wanted. And even if Jack didn't necessarily want to admit it to himself, he wanted nothing more than to fulfill Tim's wish. Tim humped into Jack's hand, moaning, and Jack's fingers eventually found their way into his pants, under his underpants, feeling the warmth, the soft skin, and wrapped around Tim's hard cock as Tim's moans vibrated louder and louder through his body. Tim's glazed look was both present and absent. As if he wanted to take Jack back there to the masses again. They had both experienced it, had both been there, how the crowds had loved Tim, had wanted him. If it had been up to them, they would have all wanted to touch him, grab him, tear his clothes off, and if it had been up to Tim, Tim would have wanted that too, to feel that love, on his body, hands on his bare and naked skin, fingers reaching for him, digging into his flesh, mouths kissing and tongues licking every inch of him, wanting him, loving him, bringing him to climax. Jack was sure Tim was having sex with all those people in his head right then when Jack pumped him hard, Tim’s gaze dark, his lips moist. It didn't take long now, Tim was exhausted, this wasn't about maximizing pleasure, about extensive sex. What had built up had to come out. Jack felt the hard cock twitch, smelled the sex already, and Tim came with a loud moan. "Ahh!" The cum was warm and sticky on Jack's fingers. Jack knew what it tasted like. Tim dropped down close to Jack and again the damn curls tickled Jack's nose. Tim reached tiredly and lazily for Jack's cock.
It wasn't half-hearted, but it was far from promising either. "You don't need to-" Jack said. "No, I don't want you -" "No, it's okay." Tim rubbed his nose tiredly against Jack's shoulder. "Sure?" "Yeah..." "I'll make it good for you another time, okay?" Jack laughed softly. Tim snuggled up to him. "Sorry, I stained your suit." "It's okay." It wasn't the first time. Jack tried to straighten up. "But I should go now." Tim's heavy arm across him stopped him. "No… Don't be stupid." Jack took a deep breath, for a while wondering if he should insist. For his own self, which would only nag him again tomorrow.
But he was pretty inept at letting Tim down. Always had been. "Can I at least take my jacket off?" He tried to take it lightly. "Yeah sorry..." Tim took his arm away. Jack took off his jacket, half rose from the bed to throw it over the back of the chair, took off his shoes and deliberately dropped them on the floor. Tim chuckled with half-closed eyes. "Good for you!" Jack smiled, albeit a little melancholically, and lay back down in bed a little away from Tim, but Tim immediately moved and cuddled up to him. "Did you see the girl who wanted the tattoo and what I wrote?" Tim asked quietly and dreamily. "Of course." Tim always wanted Jack to hear everything funny he said or did. "Man, I was shaking so much..." Yes, Jack had noticed that.
It was always fascinating to Jack that some things never changed. Of course, Tim was an old hand on the red carpet by now, and even if he knew by now how to hide it very well, the crowds not only electrified him, they also still intimidated him as hell. "I felt you behind me," Tim whispered quietly. "You know when I leaned up to that fan? You stepped up, too. I was so glad that I had you in my back." "It's my job."
"You took care of me."
Tim looked Jack deep into his eyes, not drunk, but not sober either, and gently pressed his lips to Jack's. "I couldn't do any of this without you, you know that, right?" Jack held his breath, looked at Tim, although he wanted nothing else than to close his eyes.
And he didn't know if he hated Tim more for saying that, or himself for wanting to believe it. ***

SCHOOL UNITY III (Pomefiore)
Hi everyone, I originally didn't think I would manage to come up with something for the other dorms that I liked but then I got inspired for Pomefiore. So to ensure that it fits in properly I renamed this one SCHOOL UNITY III and changed the original one I named to SCHOOL UNITY: NRC vs. RSA. Hope you like it and let me know what you think. <3
(Octatrio/Prefect Romantic Poly)
(One sided Vil/Prefect)
SCHOOL UNITY III (Pomefiore)
“You sure everything is in place? The staff know their cues?” the Prefect asked from where they were seated at the little makeup station once again while Jade painted the less dramatic but still enhancing cosmetics across their skin.
There was no way they would be able to get away with looking anything less than perfect, after all.
Azul couldn’t help the chuckle as he tried to get Floyd to let him adjust the cravat properly around his neck while the eelmer groaned and made himself as annoying as possible to attempt escape.
“You sound unusually eager.” The teased lightly, earning a faint roll of the eyes.
The Prefect didn’t try to hide their smile, though, and absently ran their fingers down the front of their outfit.
“A little bit, yeah.” They admitted. “I’m not usually one for this kind of stuff but it has been really fun and I think everyone will really enjoy it.”
“Especially Vil-senpai.” Jade pointed out with a smirk.
“The seastar is really gonna owe us.” Floyd cackled.
“Come on, guys, Vil-senpai has really helped us with this. Don’t get me wrong, Jade, you’ve done an amazing job, but you have to admit that Vil-senpai has put more effort into the success of these promo nights than he needed to and they probably wouldn’t have turned out half as well without his input. He even offered up some of his dormmates for extras and we probably wouldn’t have been able to set up all the effects without his expertise and insight.” They pointed out.
“I do not argue that fact in the slightest.” Jade said amused, eyes sparkling deviously as he tilted their chin in his hands to finish up the final touches. “Though I am interested in seeing how well you handle your role. Your…appreciation for our dear Pomefiore Housewarden won’t interfere?” he teased, chuckling at the faint blush that painted their cheeks.
“Jade! That’s not fair! It was before I got to know you guys and he’s-I mean it’s practically illegal NOT to find Vil-senpai attractive! It’s like Tsunotarou and Leona-senpai!” they pouted, shooting a look over at the slightly pouting Azul and cackling Floyd. “And you can’t tell me that you don’t find Jamil-senpai attractive, Azul! I saw your expression when he showed up after basketball practice with his hair up like that.”
The octomer instantly flushed a deep red that was almost purple and began sputtering.
“T-that’s not-I mean-“ He stammered, making the Prefect giggle and Jade’s chuckling to join his brother’s cackles.
“Heheheh Azuuuuul~ I didn’t know you had a thing for seasnakey!” Floyd giggled as he poked at their lover’s cheek playfully. “Should I invite you to more of my practices?”
“The Scarabia Vice-Housewarden is rather pretty.” Jade added mercilessly. “There’s no harm in admiring.”
Azul quickly cleared his throat and lifted his chin, trying desperately to regain his composure as he adjusted his own cravat that was secured with a beautiful indigo brooch that matched the Pomefiore colors.
“I believe it is near time for us to open the doors. I will go and greet our guests.” He said, spinning on his heels and escaping the office with a flutter of the matching indigo and crimson cape clasped at his shoulders.
The door clicked closed and instantly the Prefect and twins dissolved into laughter and Jade had to pat their eyes dry with a tissue so that the light liner wasn’t smudged from their tears.
“Azul’s so cute when he’s flustered.” They giggled breathlessly as Jade finished securing their hair appropriately for their costume.
“Does he flush that cutely in his merform?” they asked hopefully, watching Floyd undoing all of their Housewarden’s efforts on his cravat and unintentionally making himself look like a rakish lord who was used to people throwing themselves at his feet.
Well, he was used to people being at his feet but there was typically quite a bit of blood involved.
“Yes and no.” Jade chuckled. “It is technically not the same, as merfolk biology is quite different than humans, but as an octomer he is uniquely skilled at changing the color of his skin as a defensive mechanism. When he is flustered, he tends to lose control of that ability a little which can create a similar affect.”
Floyd grinned widely, leaning on his brother’s shoulder.
“Azul blushes purple, everywhere.” He added with glee.
The Prefect’s eyes lit up.
“We are definitely going to figure out a way to get a picture of that.” They insisted, the three dissolving into another fit of shared laughter, already plotting against their poor unsuspecting cephalopod lover.
Once they had finally gathered themselves again, Jade did one last check of the Prefect’s outfit before handing the decorative prop over to attach to their waist.
“Ready, angelfish?” Jade asked with an amused smile.
“Ready.” They grinned back, lifting their chin.
This was going to be fun.
-
“I am so glad that you could make it, Vil-senpai.” Azul greeted with his arms outstretched in welcome as the Pomefiore Housewarden, vice-housewarden, and Epel entered the Lounge.
Other students were already being shown to tables by the other waiters and Azul guided the three past all of them to one he had set up specifically on the stage for the Pomefiore group.
Vil, as always, perfectly breathtaking and poised, though he did give an appreciative look around the Lounge. The décor had been changed to suit the Pomefiore dorm and he had to admit that it was relatively well done. Nothing horrendous to look at, at least.
He was glad that he had been able to force Epel to wear his more ceremonial uniform to match his and Rook's. He didn’t want his little sprout to give off an impression that didn’t live up to his standards.
Not that he was trying to impress anyone any more than usual.
He was perhaps not pleased with the Prefect’s choice of romantic relations but he certainly respected them enough to make their own decisions regarding their private life. It wasn’t like he had lost after all.
There might have been a chance for something more between him and the Prefect but he had never intended to state his feelings – at least not until he had proven to them that he had improved himself after Overblotting in such a disgraceful manner. He had to prove to them that he was wiling to learn from his mistakes and grow.
He hadn’t expected the Octavinelle trio to already have their eyes on them and weren’t willing to risk waiting.
Either way, it wasn’t an option now and if being a friend and mentor was what they wished of him that was what he would give.
And if the time came that their relationship with Azul and the twins ended? Well, he would already be a trusted support in their life and he wouldn’t lose the chance again.
Besides, the little sweet potato was enjoying themself and with all that Crowley forced them to handle he supposed he could forgive the annoying fishboys if it meant seeing the Prefect smile more.
That didn’t mean he didn’t want to strangle Azul with his tie sometimes.
“Your effort certainly shows.” Vil nodded, accepting his place at the table where a folded card with his name elegantly written in gold ink was waiting. “I am interested in what you have in store for us.” He said.
Azul chuckled and handed the menus to the three as the other students were all seen to as well.
“Hopefully a night of entertainment.” The octomer smiled politely. “One that I’m rather convinced you will enjoy. Our dearest Prefect wanted to make arrangements just for you and how could I refuse?”
Vil really wanted to strangle him sometimes, especially when he had to fight back to ridiculous, juvenile reaction of blushing at just the mention of such care from the dimensional traveler.
“I’m sure I will. I always do love a good dinner show.” He said, looking over the options for the night and making his choice while his companions did the same.
“Oui! We are all quite excited for mon p’tit chaton’s grand debut!” Rook beamed, earning a nod from Epel.
“They’ve been really hush-hush about it too! Even Ace couldn’t get it out of them!” the lavender haired boy admitted.
Azul chuckled and laid his hand over his heart – or where it was in his human form at least.
“The Mostro Lounge is pleased to hear that our special night has been so looked forward to. It is only by the patronage of our customers that we have been able to provide such-“
“Enough, Azul.” Vil interrupted with a sigh. “Modesty doesn’t suit you and it is impossible to miss how your plans have become so popular on campus that it has also been making waves on Magicam.” He said, sending the octomer a raised eyebrow. “All in the name of school unity, of course. Nothing to do with how much the students have been willing to spend for a reservation to one of these ‘promotions’ or the advertisement and recognition spreading even beyond our campus.”
“Aa, Vil-senpai, as beautifully sharp as ever.” Azul chuckled. “I will admit to enjoying some benefits that you have stated but really, how could I do anything but share the benevolent spirit of our glorious Sea Witch and Magnificent Seven with everyone? Surely closer ties between houses is a worthy goal?”
“I suppose, though, I would advise coming up with a different idea for your next ‘Savanaclaw’ night. While I’m sure many students enjoy the…uproarious nature of Leona-senpai’s dorm it would simply be impossible for me to allow my students to attend such a setting if brawls are going to break out over entrees.” The blonde said with an arched smile that made Azul’s own smile grow strained.
Epel heaved a sigh and pouted in his chair. He thought the Savanaclaw night had been awesome.
Rook gave him an amused pat on the shoulder in commiseration.
“Of course, such acts will not be allowed in the Lounge and we have already started making steps to ensure future nights are safe for all attendees.” Azul replied. “Mostro Lounge is of course dedicated to providing only the best experiences for our customers.”
“Well, then I am curious to see if you can live up to that.” Vil replied with the beautiful smile that he gave to cameras when he wanted to rip a rude reporter’s tongue out with his bare hands. “It is so disappointing when something so highly praised falls short. Though eventually all those not up for the task show their limits and fall. Some do have an unfortunate tendency to grab for things that they have not proven they deserve.”
Azul – as talented as he was – was no match for a child celebrity who grew up in front of a camera, and so he could only give a weak chuckle as his smile only remained barely holding on by sheer force of will. His dark, leather gloves creaked softly under the force of his fists behind his back.
“I can assure you, tonight you will leave absolutely charmed or you will never have to pay for another meal at Mostro Lounge.” He said through grit teeth, holding the other’s violet gaze in defiant challenge.
“After all, I have motivations for my success outside of my own happiness, and that will ensure I continue to strive until I have surpassed my goals.” His smile turned sharp, resembling the twins’ much more than one would expect from the Housewarden.
“Someone who only betters themself for their own sake and no one else might struggle to understand this, however. Now if you will excuse me. A waiter will return with your drinks shortly.” He said before spinning on his heels to leave.
Despite not waiting to actually hear their orders.
Epel’s gaze flickered between the Octavinelle Housewarden and his own nervously.
“What was that about?” he whispered to Rook. “I thought Vil was gonna shishkabob him.”
“Watch your tone, Epel. You’re slipping again.” Vil answered shortly, lifting his chin and refusing to show just how annoyed he was at the pale haired male.
He wasn’t there to see him after all.
Vil scoffed mentally, though, as he returned his focus to the menu. Azul really thought high of himself if he thought he could impress HIM. As if he knew what Vil would enjoy or want.
Ridiculous.
It wasn’t long before their orders had been taken and the whole room had enjoyed some time with their food and discussions among their fellow attendees that had been strategically placed. The food was decent, Vil had to admit, but nothing about it was ground breaking and he inwardly prepared himself to enjoy the little show but leave perfectly validated in his previous expectations.
“Thank you all for joining us for this special Mostro Lounge promotion honoring the beautiful Queen!” Azul smiled as he appeared towards the middle of the Lounge, arms wide again. “In an attempt to share the spirit of tenacity and effort of Pomefiore we have borrowed their love of the arts and beauty and created an experience that we hope you will all enjoy! At your seats you all have name tags that have been prepared specifically for you.”
The students all blinked and looked at the cards that had their names written on them that had been previously assumed as simple decoration.
“Inside you will find the information written for a character that you are to embody tonight! Become familiar with your background and motivations for as you enjoy the rest of your meal and dessert you will find yourself in a tale rife with twists and betrayal! Spies from the nefarious RSA kingdom has infiltrated our boarders and it is only with the combined talent and skills of our residents that we will be able to uncover their foul plans and foil their plot!"
"Some among you have been chosen as the spies and it is your job to find them out before the end of the banquet or their schemes will succeed! If the spies are able to go unrevealed by the end of the night and their task has been successful – their cards will give the directions, they are to complete – they will win a year’s worth of free dinners here at Mostro Lounge. If they are stopped all who attended that are not the spies will be given a twenty-five percent discount for three meals.” He grinned, seeing the excited chatter and smiles around the room.
“The rules are simple! You must not show your card to anyone and you must not break character! Should you do so you will instantly be removed from the event. You must treat the methods you use to detect the spies cautiously because the spies have a power that only they possess."
"At ten minute intervals the lights will be cut and the spies have the chance to 'remove' any they believe might suspect them of the plot through a method already planned that will not be disclosed. Should you be ‘removed’ you will lose your chance at the discount. Any refusal to be removed will be met with a year’s ban from Mostro Lounge. At the end of the event when desserts are finished, there will be the chance to out the spies. Should they be found and stopped NRC prevails."
"NRC students have their own power, however! As our residents are all aware of the unbreakable bond that exists between us, you have the chance to win over a spy to our side and prove the superiority of NRC! The spy has the choice to become loyal to NRC but should even one spy be left either unfound or unturned that now loyal NRC spy will lose their privilege of a win and be outed by their previous comrades and be assumed killed by their employers. However, if all spies are turned to the side of NRC then everyone in attendance will win fifty percent off of a single meal a week for a year!”
“Weigh your options and chances carefully and let this ‘Mostro Lounge: Pomefiore’s Banquet’ begin!”
Azul clapped his hands and the lights suddenly cut off, causing a few of the students to yelp.
When the lights blinked back on Vil couldn’t wait to pick up his card, both excited by the idea – he hadn’t expected something quite this involved – and vexed because he just knew that Azul would choose him as a spy.
After all, he was always cast as the villain.
His bio was simplistic but easy for him to work with and expand off of, while still following the guidelines. A young royal in line for succession but not the direct heir. His gut twisted and he knew that it was only expected for him to be chosen as one who was trying to take over the-….
The blonde froze as his gaze traveled down to the very bottom of the card.
‘Protagonist.’ - Prefect :)
“Your highness!” Vil blinked at the familiar voice and he looked up only to have his eyes widen slightly at seeing the Prefect coming to his side wearing the fitted and very charming uniform of a knight in Pomefiore colors and a fake but well-made prop sword at their waist.
A luxurious, detailed vest in dark crimson and trimmed with gold embroidery set over an indigo, high collard, long tailed coat that was tailored to their form and gave a very appealing silhouette. Black pants with gold embroidery along the sides of their legs matched the same dark arm grieves and protective boots that were also trimmed in gold. There were bits of white throughout to create dramatic contrast as well as decorative buttons and trim that clearly placed this ‘knight’ as very high ranked.
And on their chest was a golden brooch that matched the heart and dagger hair clip Vil was known for.
Vil was actually, for the first time in years, struck silent as the Prefect knelt to one knee and placed their gloved hand over their brooch.
“Forgive me for my tardiness, your highness, there were affairs I had to see to. I hope you will forgive me and allow me to remain by your side tonight for your protection.” They flashed a dazzling smile and held out their other hand to the blonde – who placed his own on theirs without thought – and actually felt his cheeks flush lightly when the Prefect kissed his knuckles and then turning those devastating eyes back up to him. “As your loyal servant I will do everything in my power to keep you safe.”
Vil swallowed and managed to clear his throat and pull his hand back when the Prefect stood.
“Yes, I will allow it. I’ll be in your care, my knight.” He said, slipping into his role in an attempt to regain his composure.
The Prefect flashed another dazzling smile and Vil felt his heart stop in his chest as they leaned closer to their ear.
“Rest easy, your highness, I would never allow any harm to befall my beloved master. I will remain at your side until the end.”
With that they took up place behind his chair and Vil’s dazed gaze unconsciously trailed out across the Lounge and the now chatting ‘players’ of the event until it landed on Azul who stood at the entrance to the back offices. His smile was wide and smug.
Azul knew he already won.
Vil lifted his chin stubbornly and turned to face a highly bemused Rook and very confused Epel as he began his performance. After all, he could at least win a discount for this mediocre restaurant, and well…
For one evening he had a loyal knight at his side and he could enjoy pretending.
-----------------------------------------------
Got to admit I have a huge soft spot for Vil so I had to put a little hint of Vil/Prefect in there XD. Hope you liked it though! Let me know what you think! <3
Oh I also don't think I really explained the knight uniform well so I'm going to put the link to the Genshin Impact outfit I based it off of.

ive been seeing talk of warner apparently forcing mcr to make a 4th album when they wanted to end with black parade. did they say this or is this a rumor? where does it come from? im a new fan so tumblr asks are the only way to get even a semblance of context
oh wow don't worry that's definitely not true lol. i guess i can see how it was a rumour because gerard did originally intend for the black parade to be the last album mcr did, like, before they even made it. but also he originally intended for bullets to be their one and only album for a bit too and ray convinced him to keep going, and then the black parade world tour was so gruelling that, again, ray convinced gerard to take a step break and take a break from mcr because otherwise they inevitably would have broken up from the stress. they took a couple years off mcr without setting a specific date to come back, so that when they decided to come back it would be for the right reasons. and then when they did, they set a bunch of rules for the new album because the black parade writing and touring process had been so mentally and physically draining. one of the rules was the new record would have no concept, it would have a more stripped-back punk rock sound etc etc. and that's where conventional weapons came from. they were literally gearing up to release it and starting promo for it when frank came up the the na na na riff just before gerard went on a week-long holiday to the californian desert, where he couldn't get it out of his head. gerard decided they needed to scrap everything and start from scratch, because conventional weapons didn't feel representative of what mcr could be, partly because it didn't have a ~concept. the rest of the guys were onboard except for bob, who did not survive the band's transition into danger days LOL. and then danger days was actually written really quickly and they were psyched about it. or at least mostly - frank said some stuff in interviews after the breakup that implied he wished they had a little more time to work on danger days and that he might have preferred conventional weapons overall, and i think there's kind of an (oversimplified, if you ask me) conception that conventional weapons was ~frank's album and danger days was ~ray's. but anyway, if anything it says how lenient their label was with them at that stage, probably largely due to their a&r guy craig aaronson's championing of them, that they were even allowed to scrap an album they'd already started promoting and write a new one. i'd say that rumour was also partly propagated by danger days being kind of badly received by some fans given it was such a divergence from some of their previous stuff, and also because apparently it was pretty heavily advertised and a lot of people felt like they'd gone "commercial" and felt kind of alienated from the band. gerard was also struggling a lot with his mental health at the time so i think that era leaves a bad taste in people's mouths for that reason, even though it's certainly not the only era in the band's history that that's true for.
anyway, most of that information is just compiled from memory from a bunch of different sources, but if you can get access to it (i honestly think it's worth buying as an ebook), tom bryant's not the life it seems is a really good overview of the band's history. it's a little bit sensationlised at times and certainly very frank-centric because music journalists love frank and he was (and still kind of is tbh) really the only one who agreed to doing mcr-related interviews for a long time, but it's a great read if you can stomach the content warnings.
also for new fans in general, this blogspot is a great resource that has practically every magazine interview mcr ever did up until 2009 scanned in. this blog also has a great list of scans that continue later.
from memory this nme interview is one of the ones that went pretty in-depth about the transition from conweap into dd, cw for ed and fatphobia though.

Guitar String of Fate
Tumblr media Tumblr media
MASTERLIST
Pairing: Eddie Munson x Fem!Reader
Word Count: 4,062
Warning: Drunken shenanigans, thirst tweets.
Summary: When the band Daughters of Lilith tour bus breaks down in the middle of Indiana, they are left stranded for a few hours waiting for help. Y/N (also known by Echo) sees a bar in the distance with a giant LIVE MUSIC sign in bright neon lights, she tells the girls they might as well find some entertainment while they wait. The local favorite Corroded Coffin is playing, and when she locks eyes with the guitar player for the first time, Y/N can’t help but feel the electricity in the air. Will this be a missed connection? Or will the strings of fate bring them together again?
Author’s Note: Who doesn't love rockstars? I certainly do.
Part II
Y/N knew she'd get an earful after dropping the album early. Murray ran a tight ship and as their manager, it was his job to keep everything in order. There was supposed to be promo parties, meetings with big wigs, a bunch of fancy dinners. That was the plan, but Y/N was so exhausted. The tour took a lot out of her, the rest of the girls too. Chrissy was half dead on her feet after every show. Y/N made the split second decision to release the drop to ease the transition after the Antiquity tour. She knew Murray would give her an earful, but she didn't really care. The fans loved it, the rest of the band agreed, and that's all she needed to know. She didn't regret her decision in the slightest, but Murray's nagging was really grating on her ears.
"I don't see what the big deal is. It hasn't even been a day and the album is already charting in the top 10. You should thank me honestly"
"Thank you?! I should thank you?! I swear when you guys get to L.A-"
"Sorry Murray, you're breaking up. Bad reception in Hawkins. Talk to you later!" Y/N hung up the phone and immediately turned it off.
"You're terrible" Barb chuckled at the head of the bus. They'd only been driving for a couple of hours, passing through Hawkins, Indiana before getting on the interstate. Y/N had begged the driver to at least pass through it since they couldn't make a formal stop. Alexei was always a bit over a pushover, so of course he caved to her whim.
"Please, Murray would have harped on me all the way to California and you know it" Barb nodded in agreement. Murray was like an overexcited chihuahua. Loud, in your face, and had a hysterical temper. Once you got him going it was difficult to stop him.
"I really wish we could have stayed in Hawkins for a bit. It would have been nice to see people" Chrissy sighed.
"Next time we can Chris, we'll make a whole weekend of it" Y/N loved the idea of Hawkins. Barb, Chrissy, and Vickie always talked about how much they loved growing up there. It was quaint, a town almost stuck in time. Old shops and arcades that have maintained their charm over the decades. It was starkly different than Y/N's childhood, she hated growing up in Athens, California. A neighborhood outside the glitz and glamor of Los Angeles. It was busy and loud, where Hawkins had an ease of peace to it.
"Sure I guess, wish we could do it now instead of later though"
It was as if Chrissy's words bled magic, her will to stay in her hometown manifesting into reality. All of the sudden a loud bang rang out on the back of the bus, the sound nearly deafening. The bus came to a slow stop, the wheezing and hissing of mechanics ringing their ears.
"What the hell was that?" Eden yelled through the curtain of her bus bed.
"I'm not sure, I'll ask Alexei" Vickie skittered out of her seat and raced to to the front of the bus. Y/N looked out the window to see a dense array of trees, the evening sun barely visible through them. It couldn't have been a worse place to stop.
"Oh no, is the bus broken?" Chrissy asked, taking a seat next to Y/N on the bench.
"You might get your wish after all Chris" Y/N could hear Eden groan from behind the curtain. They were all drained from the end of the tour, the follow up interviews, dealing with packing up the bus, everything. It wasn't the best time for a break down, a mechanical one or otherwise.
"Alexei thinks we blew a tire!" Vickie shouted from the head of the bus.
"Christ almighty!" Eden complained. Y/N tried dialing Murray's number, but it went straight to voicemail. The petty bastard silenced his phone. It was her own fault, Murray wasn't stupid. He knew she hung up on him on purpose. Normally that would be a small blessing, but now their tour bus was out of action in the outskirts of Hawkins. It was not the time to be spiteful.
Y/N stood up and walked towards the busses exit. If she didn't step foot off that god forsaken tour bus she knew she would lose her shit. The late summer air was thick with humidity, the smell of burnt rubber flooding her nostrils.
"What's the damage?" Alexei was bent over in front of the large bus tire, a large gaping hole in the front of it. Metal kissed pavement, it didn't take an engineer to know they were fucked.
"It looks like we will not make our destination tonight" Alexei replied. Eden, Chrissy, Barb, and Vickie all shuffled out of the bus to look at the damage, the same look of grief written on all of their faces.
"Great. Just great. What the hell are we supposed to do now?" Eden complained, banging her head on the metal frame of the bus.
"Can't we call Triple A or something? We can't be stuck here all night! What if there are bears or something out here!"
"There are no bears in Hawkins, Chrissy. It's all gonna be okay"
"There are coyotes though"
"Not helpful Vickie" Barb chastised. Chrissy was in a near panic, pacing up and down the road. She was always a gentle soul, soft and demure. When she played drums that persona flew right out the window, pounding away until the wood sticks snapped beneath her fingers. Y/N often teased her about her Dr. Jekyll and Mrs. Hyde personality shift, but she kept her mouth shut in the moment. It was clear Chrissy wasn't the only one who was nervous about the situation.
Y/N walked up to where Chrissy was pacing and wrapped her arms around her, comforting the anxious blonde before she spiraled. It was then she noticed a large rusted sign sticking out up the road. Half the letters were missing from it, but the Live Music notice below it was crystal clear.
"Do any of you guys recognize that up ahead?" Y/N asked, taking a step away from Chrissy.
"That's The Hideout. It's an old dive bar" Barb replied.
"Is it any good?" It didn't really matter either way. Dive bars meant booze and cheap food, the live music was just a bonus.
"Wouldn't know, I've never been" It was the perfect distraction. They could all pass the time listening to whatever local band played while they wait for help to arrive. Y/N knew if she step foot on that bus while it was shipwrecked it would totally ruin her night. After months of traveling the walls inside the metal machine felt more like a tomb than a mode of transportation. She was nearly claustrophobic.
"Perfect. Let's go" Y/N began to walk towards the bar before Eden reached out to stop her, the iron grip on her arm halting any chance of movement.
"What if someone recognizes us? Chrissy, Barb, and Vickie are locals. We were just in Indianapolis. It could be more of a headache than just staying here" She made an excellent point. The last thing any of the girls wanted was a media circus, especially with no way to escape it.
"We have those wigs in the car leftover from the shoot in Chicago, we could totally use those! It would be a whole Hannah Montana moment! But backwards!" Chrissy beamed, the panic from earlier replaced with giddy joy.
"Sounds good to me"
The Hideout was like any dive bar in the midwest. It was a little worn, a little dated, but comforting nonetheless. A large U shaped bar crowded with people cut the bar in half, and on the other side by the bathrooms was a small merch stand. There was a small stage set up, instruments on display for the live show. A clearly handmade banner hung above the stage, in spray painted letters it spelled out Corroded Coffin.
"Have you guys heard of this band?" Y/N asked above the noise of the bar. The shots she did in the tour bus making her feel warm and loose. The platinum blonde wig on her head was beginning to itch, she desperately wanted to rip it off. Exposure be damned.
"It sounds familiar but I can't put my finger on it!" Vickie shouted.
"Ugh it's driving me nuts! I definitely know them from somewhere! It's right at the tip of my tongue" Chrissy groaned, adjusting her hot pink wig.
The band hadn't entered the stage yet, the crowd at the front of it were all decked out in vintage metal gear. Battle jackets, spikes and pins of classic bands. It was reminded Y/N of when she was a kid, sneaking into concert venues to listen to the music her parents forbade her from. Nostalgia, oh lovely nostalgia.
"I'm gonna get a drink, see you guys in a bit" Y/N walked through the crowd to get to the bar, it had been so long since she had to. When she would go out with the girls, the people would part for them like the red sea, but no one here recognized her. She loved it. To just exist as a normal person, drinking and listening to live music, going back to her roots. When she finally got up to the bar there was a wall of people yelling to get their orders in, all of them towering over her.
'Great. Never gonna get blitzed at this rate' Y/N thought to herself. She felt a soft tap to her shoulder, the hand belonging to a guy she'd assumed would normally never set foot in a place like this.
"Here, take my spot. I'm just getting water anyway"
"Thanks, you're a life saver!" Y/N stepped into his place, the guy stepping away giving her enough personal space.
"No problem, I know how crazy it can get here. The name's Steve" He held his hand out to shake, something she gently returned.
"I'm Y/N. Ya know, if I'm being honest, you don't look like the kind of guy I'd expect to be here" Steve was wearing a polo shirt and a wind breaker, he looked like he shopped at J. Crew, went to private school. Probably drives an Audi or a BMW. That type.
"I get that a lot," Steve chuckled, "this is my friends band. I always come to his shows when I can. I'll be honest, metal isn't my favorite, but he's a cool guy and I like to show my support"
"That's cool. Are they any good?" Y/N said as she held a $20 bill in the air, fastest way to get a bartenders attention.
"Not the best judge of the music, but I think they're really talented. The only metal I've listened to is Daughters of Lilith, but that's only because my best friend Robin is obsessed with them"
Y/N placed her order, barely containing the smirk on her face. Rockstars relish in hearing about people loving their music, always adds a boost to their Jupiter sized egos. Those who don't are either liars or have the humility of Mother Theresa. Y/N was neither.
"Oh yea? Is Robin here tonight?" Get a couple of drinks in her, Y/N would have zero hesitation in exposing her disguise. Especially for a major fan, Murray and the other suits be damned.
"Nah, she couldn't make it. She's at a birthday party. Pretty sure she's listening to the new album now though, she hasn't shut up about since it dropped. Do you listen to them?" The bartender handed Y/N her drink, a captain and ginger. When she took a sip, Y/N quickly realized it was definitely more captain and not so much ginger. Dive bars and their heavy pours.
"Oh yea, I listen to D.O.L all the time. I've followed the band since the beginning" Not technically a lie, not a full truth either.
"Robin's gonna be so bummed out she missed this, she's followed them since the beginning too, I'm sure she'd talk your ear off about them. The only reason I've listened to them was because she wanted someone else to talk to about their music. She did the same thing to our friend Eddie, but he's more into that scene than I am"
"Spreading the metal gospel?" Y/N chuckled, sipping on her drink.
"Oh yea, for sure. She has this massive crush on the guitarist, Vickie too. Robin used to be in band with her back in high school, but she never had the courage to talk to her. Shit, probably shouldn't have said that"
"Trust me, if I had a dollar for every time I said something I shouldn't have I would be richer than King Midas" An idea popped in Y/N's head then. She nabbed the pen from behind the bar and grabbed one of the band's flyers, it was a little wet in the corners but it would get the job done. Steve's back was turned, ordering a glass of water from the bartender. Y/N quickly wrote out a note and signed the bottom, gently sticking into the pocket of his windbreaker. A little something for her band's biggest fan.
The lights in the bar began to dim, shrouding the room in darkness. Cheers erupted from the crowd in front of the stage, the show was about to begin.
"See ya around Steve" Y/N said as she walked away, navigating through the crowd once again. The buzz from cheap liquor flooded her veins, a sense of euphoria firing off the neurons in her brain. When was the last time she went to a show that wasn't her own? To be a face in the crowd instead of the lead on stage? It must have been years. She didn't realize how much she felt the absence of it until she stepped foot inside The Hideout, missed the rush of getting lost in the sea of people, all dancing to the beat of the same drum.
"Shit, there you are! Hurry up the show's about to start! Everyone else is at the front already!" Eden grabbed Y/N's arm and pulled her deep into the crowd, her legs stumbling along like a newborn gazelle. She followed Eden's lead as she steamrolled through the crowd. It was one of the things Y/N loved about her, how she could push her way through anything. Eden was the band's rock, Y/N would be lost without her.
"You made it just in time! The band's about to come out!" Vickie shouted. Eden practically shoved Y/N against the stage barrier, the hard metal digging into her ribs. It was a great spot, off center towards stage left. Y/N was squished in between Eden and Chrissy, a swarm of people behind them. They were all shouting, pushing and prodding to get to the front of the crowd, desperate to get close to the band. Electricity was in the air, a beautiful controlled chaos. Then the members of Corroded Coffin finally walked on stage, it felt like a bolt of lightning struck down through Y/N's spine.
Standing barely six feet in front of her was the most sublime creature Y/N had ever seen. Long limbs dressed in leather and denim, the hands that gripped the B.C. Rich Warlock decorated with thick metal rings. He had a smile that could outshine the beaming lights on the stage, and hair long enough to pull. This man checked every one of Y/N's boxes. She didn't stand a chance.
"I want to have his rockstar babies" Any filter that Y/N had previously possessed was gone with the wind. The booze, the music, the man in front of her, three strikes and she was out.
"What?" Eden yelled over the cheers.
"I said! I want, to have, his rockstar babies!" Y/N screamed in her face, oblivious to the fact that the man himself could hear her. When she turned around she saw him looking straight at her, a wolfish grin on his face. Y/N widened her eyes when he gave her wink, matching the endearing dimple on his flushed cheeks. Done for, she was absolutely done for.
"I'm embarrassed for you" Eden groaned.
"Be embarrassed then. Doesn't make it any less true" Y/N was sure Eden had another oh so clever quip to add, but was interrupted by the screeching sound of the mic reverb.
"Sorry about that, Gareth always fucks up the the mic set up" the man behind the mic teased.
"Fuck off, Jeff" the drummer, Gareth Y/N supposed, replied.
"Love you too man," Jeff began, "anyways, we're Corroded Coffin and we're gonna put on a bitchin' show for y'all tonight. We're gonna start with something all of you should know, if not, why the hell are you guys here? Hit it!"
Y/N instantly recognized the guitar rip, the opening chords to Master of Puppets blasting her ears. If she didn't know any better, she would have thought it was done by James Hetfield himself. The man had an insane amount of talent, too much to be wasted in some old dive bar. His fingers waltzed against the warlock's strings like he had it with him in utero. Y/N was entranced, fully underneath his spell. She had never felt this way before, never felt this moved watching another person play. Not even herself.
Eden watched Y/N gaze at the guitarist on stage with a knowing look in her eye. She knew that by the end of the night, one of three things would happen. One, Y/N would make a damn fool out of herself in front of mystery guy. Two, she'd chicken out and just stare at him while he played. Or three, a locked tour bus and a suspiciously loud speaker playing inside, leaving the rest of them stranded on the road. The last one was very unlikely, for as long as Eden knew her Y/N never hooked up with strangers. A serial monogamist at heart, poor thing. So it was either option one or two, if Eden was gonna bet money on it, she'd go with the first.
It made her miss Argyle all the more, he had left to go back to California halfway through the tour. He was the perfect partner, always attentive to her needs, constantly lending a hand to anyone who needed it, could lighten up a room the moment he entered. Eden wasn't a hopeless romantic, that was all Argyle, but she loved him with everything in her. A part of her wanted that for the rest of her friends too. Chrissy had a bad break up before she left for Los Angeles, some douchebag zealot she dated back in high school. Vickie always mentioned some girl she used to have a crush on back in the day, but never did anything about it. Barb was harder to read. She never mentioned anyone she was interested in, but Eden did notice the eyes she gave Fred Benson during the MTV interview. The same eyes Y/N was giving the guitarist as he played through the set, and if her eyes didn't deceive her, a similar look on Chrissy's face as she watched the drummer, Gary? Gareth. Definitely Gareth. Who knows, maybe Hawkins, Indiana had better luck than Eden previously thought.
"I'm gonna throw my bra on stage" Y/N slurred beside her.
"Don't you dare!" Eden's words fell on deaf ears, especially with Chrissy chanting do it, do it, do it, beside them. Corroded Coffin had just finished up some original work, it was pretty good. A little unpolished, but with the right set up and practice they could tune that right up.
"It's already in motion Lady Eden, can't stop me now. I shall give the fair warlock knight a favour, a token of my appreciation" Y/N replied as she stealthily unhooked her bra beneath her shirt.
"I'm banning you from Medieval Times for the next month"
"Oh, boo" Y/N slipped the black lace fabric off her skin the moment before the band began to play once more. She tossed into the air, the bra taking flight like a bat in the night. The guitarist caught it before he it landed on his face. He looked annoyed at first, as if he was used to people throwing things at him, before he realized what it was. A look of pure excitement consumed him, like a kid getting his favorite toy on Christmas morning.
"Dude, is that a bra?" Jeff voiced into the mic.
"Sure is"
"Can I see?" Eden rolled her eyes, men were so predictable.
"No way man, it's mine now. Probably wont look as good on me as it would on the lady who gave it though" The guitarist attempted to fit his arms through the straps, giggling like a school girl. He quickly gave up the endeavor, his shoulders were too broad for it to fit, deciding to tie it around the strap instead. Y/N looked like she was having a religious experience, Eden wanted to gag.
"Oh my god his voice, I can't, I just can't" Y/N whined, her knuckles gripping the metal barrier as if she would blow away at any moment.
"Y/N, you're like, one of my bestest friends ever, and I say this with all the love in my heart because you're like, the sister I never had, but you seriously need to get laid"
"Chrissy!"
"Am I wrong?"
"Nope" Eden, Vickie, and Barb all replied at the same time.
"Stop killin' my buzz. Let me fantasize in peace!" They all turned back towards the stage, ignoring Y/N's protest. Corroded Coffin started their final encore of the night, it was only a matter of time before Eden found out which of the three options would come into fruition.
As the song came to an end, Eden's phone buzzed in her pocket. She wanted to ignore it, content on enjoying the music, but it kept ringing. Over and over and over again. Whoever it was, was desperate to get ahold of her. With an annoyed groan she pulled out her phone, Murray's face popping up on her lock screen.
Tumblr media
Eden:
Murray?
Murray:
Where the hell are you guys?!
Eden:
A bar.
Murray:
Is that what all the racket is? I can barely hear you!
Eden:
What is it Murray?
Murray:
The tire has been fixed. All of you need to get to the bus pronto, we're late on schedule as is!
Eden:
Oh come on, the set is almost over!
Murray:
Now, young lady!
Eden:
You're not my dad!
Murray:
UGH!!
Murray hung up the phone, leaving Eden alone to deal with the girls. She knew it would be an olympian size tasked getting them all to the bus, especially Y/N, but it needed to be done.
"Bus is fixed. Let's go" Eden grabbed onto Y/N's arm, pulling her away from the barrier.
"Noooo Edy! Come on we can't go yet!" Y/N was whiny when she was drunk, and stubborn as an ox. Something that always tested Eden's paitence.
"Now! Before Murray gets on our asses even more! Chris, give me a hand"
Both girls had to drag Y/N out of the Hideout. She was ranting and raving about wanting to talk to guitar player. About halfway down the road she started waxing poetic about his Bambi eyes and big hands. Eden couldn't wait to get her back on the bus, get back home to Los Angeles. She knew Y/N would be a dragon in the morning, she always was with a hangover. This would be the longest bus ride ever.
In retrospect, Eden should have taken Y/N's phone away when they finally managed to get her to bed. If it weren't for the pure exhaustion that riddled her bones, that's exactly what she would have done. But Eden didn't take Y/N's phone away from her. She left the girl to her own devices, and that mistake lead to one of the biggest social media headaches Daughters of Lilith had ever experienced. Worse than dropping the album early, worse than the time Barb called the former president a fascist, although none of the band members complained about that one.
It was the tweet read around the world, and all hell broke loose.
