Res Exam Survival Guide: Strategies for a Stress-Free Pass
Tumblr media
Many people have a common query and that is nothing but how to pass RES Exam. It takes work to pass the RES Examination. It is difficult for working individuals, students, and hopefuls from disadvantaged backgrounds to obtain pertinent material. The correct amount of work, direction, and commitment may make a big difference. We're going to provide you some useful advice on how to plan your study time. If you are a working person without access to additional instruction, these recommendations are extremely pertinent.
What to do for preparing for the RES Examination?
If your mind is asking this- how to pass RES Exam then the following points should be in mind.
The significance of planning
If you are a professional in the workforce or a student, we advise you to create a schedule. Make sure the subjects you select for the preliminary exams align with your intended final subjects, if you meet the requirements. Ensure that you obtain the appropriate reference books and the syllabus.
Give attention to the development of personality
A number of candidates chosen based on their merits from the Main Examination results are required to attend an interview. Your demeanor, manners, and capacity for topic-matter fluency will all play a significant role in your selection.
General considerations
All of the response papers are often assessed based on their originality, economy of words, accuracy, and effective expression. Make sure to prepare the curriculum as part of your preparation. After you've grasped the principle, you need to make an effort to become more conscious of everything. Visit their official website to stay up to date with RES Examination announcements. Apart from that, you can follow the particular website for having experience on RES Exam Question. Obtain a list of suggested reading. Never forget that correction is essential. Aim to complete your course and make as many revisions as you can.
Complete the practice exam questions
It's a good idea to try sample papers and mock tests after you've finished the course material. This provides you with a certain level of assurance to tackle the real exams.
Never carry out the following
Examiners reserve the right to dock points if an applicant divulges personal information. Mentioning personal information like a name or any other distinguishing markings falls under this category.
Make wise preparations
The structure of the RES exam makes it impossible to succeed unless you study a great deal. As a result, in order to prepare for the individual exam, you must study for at least ten hours, which includes reviewing previously covered material and reading and comprehending themes from various books and notes. You must strategically prepare for the RES if you want to pass the test and earn a high score. You should be adaptable, try new things rather than always sticking to what you know, and make appropriate plans in advance.
Continue to Access Your Knowledge
You can assess yourself by using the just-in-time method. Rather than waiting until the last few days, you can easily test yourself by taking mock exams every day after finishing a certain section in a topic. To find out the most recent question pattern, you can enroll in a good test series or consult the prior year's question papers. Using a very punctual and sincere method allows you to accurately assess which topics are addressed and which ones need more thought.
Take Micro Notes
When there are just a few days left before the RES exam, taking brief notes during the study process is quite helpful. Essentially, notes assist you in rapidly and efficiently reviewing all of the important subjects.
Steps to Utilize While Preparing RES Examination
Step 1: Make a plan for preparation
In order to determine how much time is left for preparation, the candidate must first acquire information about the exam, such as when it will be held. Next, the exam paper's composition, including its components, needs to be determined. Quantitative aptitude, data interpretation, data sufficiency, logical reasoning, reading comprehension, and verbal ability are typically tested topics on the RES Exam Question paper. The test lasts for two and a half hours.
Step 2: Recognize your power and weakness
The candidate should first assess his or her skills and weaknesses in order to determine what and how much preparation is necessary. To pass that exam segment, one needs to prepare more for their deficiencies and concentrate on their strengths more. Knowing your weaknesses removes any cause for anxiety. Simply make an effort to learn as much as you can to turn this weakness into a strength. Always believe that you are capable.
Step 3: Be organized
The next step is to schedule your studies so that you have enough time for both studying and resting. Maintaining a healthy body and mind is more vital than anything else. Make a schedule that works for your physical and emotional needs.
Wrapping Up -
All you need to do to pass the RES exam in a short amount of time is adhere to the above-mentioned advice, which will undoubtedly assist you in organizing your study for the test. Enrolling in these coaching facilities, however, will enable you to benefit from numerous ways to prepare for the RES in addition to the professional educators' tireless efforts to make you an efficient and well-informed member of the community at a reasonable rate.

ItS A Professional Exam With Stringent Qualification Requirements. According To Recent Trends, The Global Passing Rate Is Only 45 Percent.

Iv) In India, The Majority Of CMA USA Coaching Replicates The Examinations A Few Days Before The Exams.

ravenclaws when they sit down to study 2021
highlighters, ballpoint pens, sticky notes, notebook, notebook to rewrite notes, and textbook is out on the table
mere minutes ago they decided, and i quote, “lol frick school get rekt i can marry rich” but the independent killjoy in them won so here we are now
music is playing in the background
we have our coffee in one corner and lets go✨✨
they really try to make studying look pretty
“oh wow, mitochondria is the powerhouse of the cell”
they use word association to find the answer
“alright so cell membrane, mem-brain, brain controls, controls the passage of materials in and out of the cell bOOM” [ drops notes ] “okay now 1 down, 10 more”
they spot ONE WORD in a textbook and get distracted
“‘...it is vital for cell division’ must be that motisis thing anyway— huh. im not even sure thats the right word..morisis? nono its has a t in it im sure”
[ searches up motisis cell division ] “OH MITOSIS— did we learn that?”
because to be honest they werent even paying attention to the session
too busy maladaptive daydreaming
they survive off of the powerpoints their teachers upload after class
[ tries to recall what the teacher said while we pretended that our fictional significant other gives an angry love confession ]
oh god.
hey dude r up??? did miss discuss about mitosis
its literally 11 pm right now
what r u talking about its not that late
she didnt discuss that
...
are u sure
yes.
r u mad at me?
seen at 11:11 pm
crumpled sticky notes lie in one corner, coffee is chugged, essential oil is practically shoved up their nostril, and is that mario party music playing in the background?
one page in their notebook is just full of sticky notes
but dont worry, they’ll rewrite it anyway on their prettier notebook
if they mess up the rewrite AHAHA NO PROBLEM [ rips out the page and starts again ]
back is hunched over as they highlight nearly everything on their printed learning guide
“b-but EVERYTHING IS IMPORTANT????”
the printer is the loudest thing in the world at 12:38 am in the morning
they HAVE to make sure they covered everything
okay lets cut the cameras for a sec okay. do they really need to study this hard? no. ravenclaws are some of the most intelligent people ive ever met, when you give them information it sticks to their brain. the thing is, they have absolutely no faith in themselves. and im pretty sure most of them have impostor syndrome so they feel the need to constantly prove that they are worthy and hard-working. okay that got kind of dark.
back to our regularly scheduled programming
“finally, im done with the phases of mitosis. now lets go back to the basic parts of the cell.”
“ooooooo i love the colors in this illustration” [ prints it out ]
the photo comes out in black and white
that is their breaking point.
shallow breathing and ripping scratch paper as a stress reliever
and what is that? OH NO NOT THE WAVE OF DEPRESSION COMING IN
okay its all good now. i just watched an snl compilation and aggressively wrote down my thoughts
after choosing a nice color scheme and rewriting the notes with foldable tabs they finally went to bed at 1:56 am
they take the test the next day, only to discover that mitosis was NOT in fact part of the lesson
oh. well then. the more you learn. [ screams internally ]

Don’t Move - Rafe Cameron x Reader (Smut)
Tumblr media
Not My Gif
Pairings: College Rafe Cameron x Reader
Warnings: NSFW, Smut, Cockwarming, Dom Rafe, Public Sex, Fingering, Face Fucking, Choking, Anal, Sex Toys, Squirting
Word Count: 2.4K+ of literal Porn
A/N: I’m on break from my studies for a little bit, so I’m gonna be writing as much as I can, so send your requests!
A lot of people in the Outer Banks assumed Rafe Cameron is a lazy dumbass who has no potential, but he just never tried when he was in high school. However, college is an entirely different story; it’s a place where Ward Cameron isn’t judging his every move, and that freedom causes him to try harder and enjoy life a little more. The surprising thing is that Rafe is kind of a genius when it comes to math because he understands everything, and he somehow managed to pass freshman math with an A+.
Math is something you have been struggling with since the start of school this year, numbers didn’t come easily for you, and you were desperate to finish this class with a decent grade at least.
You’re currently at the local library in your town trying to focus and study for your upcoming exam, but the formulas aren’t working, and you’re getting all the questions wrong. The library is nearly empty as it nears eight pm, but you can’t focus at home and tonight is the one of the only times you can study in peace.
“Ugh,” you groan at the 10th question that you got wrong in a row. Not paying attention to your surroundings, Rafe Cameron sneaks up behind you and hovers over your shoulder.
You nearly jump out of your seat when Rafe speaks up, “What’s wrong with you?” Glaring at him over your shoulder, you gesture towards the work in front you scattered with paper and eraser shavings covering everything.
You both have a few mutual friends and taken a few classes together, so you’re somewhat comfortable around each other, but you’ve heard a lot of rumors about him being an asshole, so you never got too close to him.
He notices the material you’re working on and scoffs at you, “This shit is so easy what the hell are you struggling with.” You gape at him, in shock from his offensive words.
“What the hell are you talking about, are you einstein or something, this shit is impossible, and I am going to fail my test on Monday,” you dramatically exclaim. He rolls his eyes at your words and pulls up a chair beside you studying the material briefly.
Facing you, “I can help you if you want, I did pretty well in this course, and I can give you a few tricks on how to ace the test.” Excitedly nodding your head at him, you pull him instantly into a hug.
“Calm down, princess, I haven’t done anything yet.” He teases you, causing your cheeks to turn crimson from his words. Rafe chuckles as your reactions and turns his attention towards your work. For the next few hours, Rafe taught you everything you needed to know. The formulas you need to memorize and how to solve each question correctly, so that you can get the answers right each time.
Around eleven you check your phone and notice how long it’s been, “Shit, it’s getting late, are you sure you want to keep studying,” you ask Rafe feeling a little bad about disrupting his plans on a Friday night.
He shrugs his shoulders at you in a non caring motion, “It’s cool I didn’t have any plans anyways.” Nodding at him, you start doing a few more practice questions, not noticing Rafe’s gaze on you, more specifically the skin that isn’t covered by your skirt.
Finally, feeling his eyes, you give him your full attention, making him remove his eyes from your legs, focusing on your eyes instead. “What is it?” you ask him, the change in his behavior, making him act a bit strange.
His eyes flick towards your lips before returning to your own, “I want to kiss you so bad right now,” speaking softly. His words cause heat to rush throughout your body, especially visible in your cheeks. His palm gently grasps your jaw as you give him a nod of reassurance as he leans in, connecting your lips. Rafe’s delicate lips surround your own, not trying to rush into anything, but savoring the moment instead.
Feeling a slight distance between each other, you move onto his lap, wrapping your hands around his neck. His hands move towards your waist, pulling you further within his lap, trying to keep the distance as small as possible. His tongue begins to tease your lower lip as you give him access to explore your own. The two of you fight for dominance, not used to the feeling as you let him guide you through the process.
Rafe’s hand begins to wander around your body, finally landing on your rear slowly caressing the skin under your skirt, hearing footsteps approaching, you turn your body around pretending to be studying on his lap instead. The librarian glances at the two of you suspiciously before walking back to her desk.
Brushing your hair to one side, exposing your neck, his lips start nipping at the sensitive skin, trying to find the perfect spot that makes you melt in his arms. After finding it, he pays extra attention to the spot above your collarbone, making a small red mark, “Rafe someone’s going to see us, “ you breathe out, trying to control your own urges.
His hands move between your legs, massaging your inner thighs before inching upwards coming in contact with your clothed pussy, making you release a shaky moan, “Don’t worry, you’re just going to be quiet for me.”
Nudging your clit with his thumb, he circles around the sensitive bud feeling your arousal leak through your panties as you try to keep still in his lap. Pushing your panties to the side, you feel Rafe teasing your slit before thrusting two fingers, causing your moans to echo throughout the silent library. Your hands cup your mouth to stay quiet so that he doesn’t stop his actions.
“I’m just trying to stretch you out for my cock princess, you’re going to feel so nice around me,” he whispers in your ear. You hear his zipper moving and feel his hard-on press against your back. He urges you to spit in his hand before moving it around his length while keeping his fingers deep inside you hitting your g-spot a few times.
Removing his fingers, you feel his length against your inner thigh before moving it against your clit, spreading your arousal around, causing your legs to tremble from his constant teasing. Finally, he pushes into your heat, feeling you clench around him but stopping when before your ass presses against his hips, “Fuck, you feel so warm and tight for me,” he groans out. Your toes curl when you feel him press against your g-spot.
“Fuck, please move,” you let a strained moan trying to limit your noises as much as you can. Rafe fixes your skirt over his lap before scooting forward so that you’re trapped between the table and him.
You feel him shake his head behind before he hands you the pencil that you completely forgot about, “No, you got a few more questions to do, so sit tight and finish them.” You groan out loud as Rafe feels the vibrations go through his cock so his hand tightens around your hip, keeping you still.
“Rafe, I can’t please move,” you desperately tell him, rolling your hips around, creating some friction between the two of you. He pinches your ass, stopping your movements from going any further, “Don’t move, and maybe I’ll treat you good later.” he tells you. Agreeing with his words, you try to focus on your work, solving a few problems but getting distracted by his cock. Both of your thighs getting covered with your arousal as a new feeling builds up in your core.
Thirty long minutes pass until you feel Rafe delivering hard shallow thrusts as his hand stimulates your clit bringing you closer to the edge, “Fuck, you’ve been leaking all over my cock, are you already close?” Frantically nodding your head at him, you bounce on his cock, trying to meet his thrusts, tiny moans escaping your mouth as he constantly targets your g-spot.
Your body begins to shake harder as you clench harder than ever around his length, “Cum all over my cock, baby.” he grunts. Your juices flow around him as he hits your special spot one more time before spilling in you at the same time. You both try to calm down as your body continues trembling not only from your orgasm, but also from his cock remaining inside you.
Pulling you upwards, he cleans you up a little before gathering all your work, shoving everything in your backpack, “What are you doing?”
Rafe grabs your hand as you exit the library with the librarian glaring at the two of you probably knowing the deed you’ve done a few minutes ago, “My roommates aren’t home tonight, and I’m not done with you yet.”
He pushes you against his car, crashing your lips together, leaving you breathless as you try to comprehend and process everything that’s going on. Rafe’s hand stays on your left thigh the entire ride, the car ride feeling almost suffocating from the desire you both are feeling and wanting to release further, “You know, I always thought you were innocent.” Rafe breaks the silence. Your laughter fills the car as you near his apartment, “I’m anything but innocent,” you wink at him.
After a long wait, you get to his room as you try to take all of his clothes so that you can admire his body. He pushes your hands away and instead makes you kneel in front of him, his jeans barely keeping his cock hidden anymore. Unzipping him, you see his member for the first time looking more intimidating as ever, “Put it in your mouth, sweetheart, I want to fuck your face,” Rafe groans out, trying to control himself.
Opening your mouth, he thrusts in your mouth immediately, causing your gag reflex to react as you steady yourself by gripping his thighs. Giving you a few minutes to adjust to his length, as you notice his tip oozing red dripping pre-cum on your tongue. You bob your head matching Rafe’s pace as you feel him sliding down your throat easier. Tears are leaving your eyes smudging your light makeup even more, as he hits the back of your throat multiple times. Giving a few deep thrust, he gags you for a little bit preventing you from breathing properly before he releases you, “Fuck, I’m going cum,” he moans out. Struggling to control himself anymore, you feel him release in your mouth as his cum touches your tongue. Tasting salty but with a sweet aftertaste, you try to swallow him as much as you can, but some drips down your chin.
You collapse on your side, your knees sore from the position. Rafe picks you up and drops you on his bed.
“Please, Rafe fuck me,” you mumble delicately, the wetness between your legs becoming uncomfortable, with his help, you remove your clothes including your panties and bra.
Moving on your hands and knees, Rafe teases your entrance with his rough fingers before moving it towards your tighter hole circling around it, “Have you ever done anal before?”
“A few times, but it was really uncomfortable.” you answer honestly shuddering from your past experience. Rafe hands travel to his drawer, taking out a bottle of lube and a small vibrator.
Pouring some lube on his fingers, he teases your entrance, “Do you trust me?” he asks you.
“Yes, Please do something” begging him in a desperate tone wanting some pleasure. He pushes two fingers in stopping when it reaches his knuckles, so that you can get comfortable to the new feeling. You hear him turn on the vibrator as he moves it to your clit to relax you a little. Becoming distracted by the new feeling on your clit, he pushes his fingers all the way in going at a steady pace. Rafe feels you relaxing in his arms as it becomes easier to push into you.
Stopping his actions, he puts on a condom before flipping you over on your back, “You ready baby?” Nodding your head vividly at him wanting some proper release, he moves your legs on his shoulders, giving him better access.
Lubing the condom, you feel him gently thrust into your tighter hole as you feel yourself stretch from the new feeling, slightly uncomfortable. He notices your discomfort and places the vibrator back on your clit trying to distract you. Once he feels you relax, Rafe finds his rhythm as he goes at a vigorous pace hitting spots that you didn’t even know would feel this good.
He turns the speed on the vibrator up as it rubs against your clit, your body starts shaking from the pleasure. One of his hands travels to your throat, squeezing it tightly allowing your breathing to uneven. Rafe moves to finger your pussy as well penetrating you further as the pleasure becomes unbearable, “Fuck, Rafe.” Your screams fill the room.
Your eyes roll to the back of your head as Rafe hits your g-spot again and again with his fingers, making you clench around him causing him to hiss at your actions. Your hands try to claw at the sheets trying to control your urges as you feel your juices let go going all over Rafe making you cry out in pleasure. He doesn’t stop his actions instead he speeds up trying to reach his own orgasm, “Come on baby, you can squirt for me again.” He urges you further.
Your body starts trembling in his hands as you feel yourself gush all around again as your screams get louder than before. You try to move his hands away, but his grip tightens as you feel him release his load in the condom pushing your body against the bed to stop your thrashing. Moving the vibrator away, he pulls out, throwing out the condom in the garbage.
He holds your body caressing your hair trying to calm your body, “Good girl,” he whispers in your ear. You feel him rub a wet cloth over your sensitive areas cleaning you up as delicately as possible without overstimulating you any further.
“Fuck, I think you just killed me,” you giggle at him finally having the energy to speak as you feel your legs still tremble around Rafe.
He kisses your forehead and pulls the sheets over both of you, as your head lays on his chest listening to his heartbeat, “I’ve wanted to that for a while.” he tells you.
“Me too.”

Limited Engagement | Tom Hiddleston x Reader
Tumblr media
Pairing: Tom Hiddleston x Reader
Summary:  After your little interlude at the theater, you are hungry for more. You call Tom for a rematch at his hotel.
Warnings: Smut, Chair Sex, Teasing, strip Shakespeare
-
You spun the piece of paper in your hand as you stared at the phone sitting on the kitchen counter. The numbers scrawled in a hurried hand taunted you.
“Fuck it.” you muttered as you grabbed your phone and punched in the numbers.
“Hello?” the silken voice answered.
“Um yeah, I don’t if you remember from earlier, but I’m the girl from…” you rambled.
“How could I forget? The Shakespeare scholar.”
Your cheeks heated at his sinful tone as your mind flashed back to that small room.
“Um… well… yeah… and you said that well to call and well… here I am… calling.” You facepalmed yourself. “Idiot.” you muttered away from the phone.
“I said that. Ready for round two?”
“Sure!” your voice squeaked.
“I will text you the address and room number.” You heard his killer smile through the phone.
You grabbed an old takeout menu and pen to scribble down the information Tom gave you, and you repeated it back to make sure you wrote it down correctly. Before you embarrassed yourself any further, you hung up the phone.
Several deep breaths later and a quick shower, you headed out the door. The entire drive over, you wondered what the hell you were doing. This was Tom Hiddleston. God of Mischief. Sex in a Suit. This was a mistake. Monumental mistake. And yet, you continued on.
You parked in the hotel lot and headed straight to the elevator bank at the back of the lobby. The doors opened, and an elderly couple stepped out. You smiled as you stepped past them. If they only knew where I am heading, you thought as the gold doors shut in front of you.
The floors ticked and the ding of the doors shook you from your mind running through all the reasons why you should go home. The doors opened, and Tom’s door stood in front of you. Tom stood in the doorway. His gray henley clung to his lean frame.
“Hello.” he said with a smile. “I got some ice while I waited.”
You noticed the ice bucket in his hand. “You must be planning a big night.” He stepped aside for you enter the room ahead of him.
The door clicked behind the two of you as Tom leaned in. “Oh, I have big plans.” His voice caused your skin to break out into goosebumps. “I hope you studied.”
You turned to face him and gripped his shirt, screwing up your courage. “I hope you studied.” You gave him a little up and down before walking into the hotel room, kicking your heels off. “Ever played strip poker?”
Tom quirked up an eyebrow. “Once or twice, but what does that have to do with Shakespeare?” He moved over to a small bar and pour a drink before offering one for you. You nodded, and he poured a second one.
“Rules are simple,” you took the glass and took a sip of the amber liquid. Whiskey. “One of us give a quote. If the other can’t answer or answers wrong.” You pulled off your earrings and laid them on the table. “we remove an article of clothing.”
Tom moved next to you, fingers running the length of your bare arm. Those damn goosebumps again. “The one with no clothing loses.” He chimed in.
“Or wins. Depending on how you look at it.” Your eyes sparked with desire as Tom brushed past you to sit down on an oversized couch in the corner. “And only the plays, no Sonnets.”
Tom pouted. “Take away all my fun.”
“I need all the advantage I can take.” You sat in a leather club chair next to the couch. “I’m up against a professional.” You set your drink down on the coffee table after taking another swig.
“Ladies first.” Tom gestured for you begin as he drank a quarter of his own drink.
You contemplated your opening play. You leaned forward. “You speak an infinite deal of nothing.”
Tom rubbed his chin. “Much Ado?” his voice uncertain.
Your lips curled into a smile and held out your hand. “A piece of clothing good sir. Merchant of Venice.”
“Fuck.” Tom bent at the waist to reach the ground. “Here.” He threw his sock in your direction.
“Thank you.” You draped the sock over the arm of the chair like a trophy. “Your turn.”
“Better a witty fool, than a foolish wit.”
You furrowed your brow as you scanned your brain for the answer. Tom shifted to the side of the couch near to you. “You are mine.” He commented.
You held up a finger as you pinched the bridge of your nose. “Um… Twelfth Night.”
The smile on Tom’s face faded, and you jumped to your feet in a victory dance. “I shall return with a vengeance, your turn.” he groused from his perch.
This back and forth continued on and on. After thirty minutes, Tom was shirtless, and you sat in your shirt and underwear. Now was not the time to pull punches.
“I burn, I pine, I perish.” you quoted with a grand flourish, having finished your drink and halfway through your second.
“As You Like It.” Tom answered with a smug grin.
You pull him to standing and tugged on the zipper, palming him “These pants are mine. Because the answer is Taming of the Shrew.”
Tom’s head fell backwards, face flushed with arousal. “My mistake.” he hissed.
The pants fell around his knees, and his cock sprung free from the confines of the fabric. You glanced down and back at Tom’s smiling face.
“You’re not wearing any underwear?” Your cheeks hot.
Tom looked down in mock surprise. “It would appear so. Oops. I guess I lost.” He pushed past you to sit the club chair you once occupied. “To victor goes the spoils.” He pulled the pants off entirely, crumpling them in a pile.
“You smug bastard.” you smirked as straddled his waist. His hands gripped your waist tight.
“I might be smug…” Tom whispered as he nipped at your ear. “… But I am not a bastard.”
“If I am the victor. How come I’m doing all the work?” you commented as you ground against his hips.
Tom grinned as his hand slid across your waist to settle between your two bodies. His eyebrows raised. “Oh, you expected me to work? If you insist.”
With a swift flick of his hand, he pulled your panties to the side. You gasped as he guides himself inside you. You moaned at the action.
“Is this what you had in mind?” Tom smirked as he bucks his hips.
“Yes!” you breathed as you gripped his shoulders for support. “Fuck.”
Tom gripped your hips and rocked you in his lap. You lifted almost entirely off of him. Tom whined and hissed when you slid back down slow.
“If you continue that, this will be a brief victory ride.” Tom teased.
You giggled as you sped up, using Tom’s body as leverage. His head fell back against the chair, exposing his throat. You leaned forward to suck on his pulse point. His hands fisted your t-shirt material.
“I’m close, darling.” Tom gasped. “Do you want to cum?”
You nodded, and Tom moved to apply pressure to your clit. You soon tumbled over the edge, clenching around Tom.
“Fuck…” he whispered as he spilled into you.
The two of you stilled, breathing heavy against each other’s sweaty bodies. You groaned as you unseated yourself.
“I need to work out more.” you commented as you reach for your jeans.
“I could help with that.” Tom remarked cheekily. “Why are you getting dressed?”
You turned to see Tom’s brow furrowed. You gestured between the two of you.
“Because it is generally frowned upon to drive home naked?”
Tom stood and grabbed your hand. “What I meant was…” he pulled you close. “… why are you leaving so soon? The night is still young.”
“I don’t want to disrupt the rest of your evening. I am just taking this for what it is.”
Tom reached up to cup your cheek. “What is it?”
You turned your head to avoid his searing gaze. You feared you would lose your nerve. “A booty call. Nothing more.”
Tom leaned in and pressed his lips against yours. His kiss was so tender, you sighed against him. He pulled back for a moment. “You sell yourself short, darling. You are far more than just sex.”
Your eyes watered at his words. “But you will leave and I will be left with nothing more than a few memories.”
“Why does it have to be that way?” Tom asked, wiping an errant tear away. “Stay the night. We can talk about all this and more.”
You nodded, unconvinced.
Tom grinned as he pulled you into a tight hug. “I am enchanted by you, darling. I have no intention under the cover of night with little more than a note on the pillow.”
You gave a slight smile as his words soothed your worries for the time being. “Okay.”
“Now…” Tom ran his hand through his hair. “… I’m not sure about you, but I am famished. How about we order some food and while we wait, we test out the very large shower I have in that bathroom?”
Tom raised a knowing eyebrow.
“I’m not sure. But perhaps I can be persuaded otherwise?” you flirted.
Tom tugged your jeans downward. “I happen to be very persuasive.” Tom pulled you into another searing kiss.

title: you're so gorgeous (i can't say anything to your face)  summary: the springtime of youth has finally caught up to Chihaya-chan
It was Chitose-neesan's fault. If she had just let Chihaya watch the movie in peace, not blurting any of the weird things she said last night, then maybe she wouldn't find it hard focusing in class today. The conversation started out casually enough.
*
“Say, Chihaya. I’ve been wondering,” Chitose uttered nonchalantly, eyes trained on the television.
Chihaya flinched when a zombie sprang onscreen. "Hm?"
"Mashima-kun's handsome, right?"
Chihaya blinked. Even though it was Chitose's habit to ask random things out of the blue, Chihaya still gets surprised sometimes. Deciding to think nothing more out of it, she replied, "Um, yeah. He's popular at school. Girls give him tons of chocolates for Valentine's Day."
"That's not what I meant." Chitose interjected. "I'm asking you. Do you find your boyfriend attractive?"
Chihaya's eyes trailed off from the movie, connecting with her sister's. "W - what?"
Chitose was looking at her with curiosity. "I don't know if it's because you guys know each other since you were kids, but I think you're seeing Mashima-kun as if he's still your classmate in grade school. Or your karuta playmate."
Chihaya blanked. What is she getting at? Chitose sighed for the second time. Despite sounding resigned, her sister suggested, "All I'm saying is—you may want to take a good look at him." She proceeded to take a sip from her mug, attention returning to the film.
"Wouldn't want to waste all that beauty in vain."
"—haya-chan," Kanade's waving hand pulled Chihaya from her thoughts. "Is everything all right?"
Chihaya surveyed the room, finding only a few of her classmates loitering around. She must’ve been lost in thought for quite a while. Turning to her concerned friend, she gave a reassuring smile. "I'm fine, Kana-chan. What brings you here?"
Kanade tilted her head. "Did you forget? We're having a group study in the library today. Everyone's already there."
“Ah,” Chihaya remarked lamely. She really should snap out of this confusion as soon as possible. It was exam week—the absolutely worst time to be worrying about anything else besides upcoming tests.
After cramming her notebooks and pens in her bag, Chihaya proceeded to move. “Let’s go, Kana-chan.”
Maybe she should just try to figure out what Chitose meant right away. It shouldn’t be that hard to do, right?
*
"Quit it, Chihaya. People are staring," Taichi grumbled beside her, pretending to be absorbed in his review materials.
"One minute." Chihaya insisted.
Of course, Chihaya has enough self-awareness to know how silly she must've looked to others, sitting beside Taichi with her chin propped on one arm above the long table, eyes gazing intently on his side profile. She's heard whispers from the students seated at the other tables, collectively wondering whether Ayase Chihaya was seriously flirting in front of public eye. She knew her friends have already placed various bets among themselves, attempting to decipher what's suddenly gotten in the mind of their resident airhead captain.
But Chihaya can't afford to be flustered. She has yet to understand what Chitose meant.
Having no clue how to go about it, or what it was she should even be seeking, Chihaya decided to begin her inspection by listing out the changes that existed between grade school Taichi and high school Taichi.
There was the hair, of course. He kept it longer now, the just enough for the tips of the strands to reach past his eyebrows. It still looked well put and silky, though, and if Chihaya would extend her hand to rest on the mop of his head, she’s sure to find it soft, too. She was about to ask for his permission to do just that when she caught herself. That was a weird thing to ask, wasn’t it?
Discarding the thought, Chihaya focused again at the task at hand, taking meticulous notice of Taichi’s stature—his sharp features and porcelain skin, the trademark long lashes, striking amber eyes…
Do you find your boyfriend attractive?
As soon as her sister’s words echoed unbidden in her mind, Chihaya’s world shifted.
Literally and figuratively. “Chihaya!” She instantly registered concern in Taichi’s voice as her head struck against the table, having slipped unceremoniously off her arm. Heat pooled at her cheeks as the temperature in the room spiked, making her feel like she was suddenly shoved inside a microwave. Every pair of eyes in their table was directed at her, equal parts worried and confused. “Are you—” Taichi was about to place a hand on her forehead, meaning to check if she was running a fever, when Chihaya shrunk back, yelping, “Water!”
A beat later she leapt to her feet, following through the first excuse she could think of, “I—I’m gonna drink some water.” Without further ado, Chihaya rushed out of the library and sprinted through the hallway, leaving everybody in the room dumbfounded in her wake.
*
“Never again,” Chihaya vowed, wiping off the water that dripped on her chin. “I won’t listen to Onee-chan ever again.” She pressed the one-liter bottle on her cheek, cooling her skin. How was she supposed to face Taichi now? It would be practically impossible to look into his eyes without bursting into flames.
Chitose-neechan must know how to deal with this, Chihaya hoped. She should head home at once and demand answers. With a newfound resolve Chihaya stood up from her crouching position—before smacking a palm on her forehead. "Ah! My bag—"
"—is here," a familiar voice cut from behind her. Spinning on her heels, she saw Taichi heading towards her next to the vending machine, both their bags slung on his shoulder. "T - Taichi," she said helplessly, her eyes instantly latching on his shoes. She gingerly inched closer. "G - give me that. I'm going home."
He turned away from her, then started walking. "Let's go."
Chihaya panicked. "Wait! I - I can go by myself. You should go back to the others. I'm fine, really."
Taichi resumed walking. "No, you're not. You look like you're bound to walk into a pole, and Ayase-san would be mad at me if I let you."
With you, I might do just that, Chihaya retorted. Having no other choice, she followed him towards the school gate.
Chihaya has always been grateful for her exceptional hearing, but today proved to be day unlike any other, and so she wasn't surprised upon finding herself annoyed with how her ears easily picked up the chatter around them. The train cart was packed with students, many of them being girls who were spending the better part of the ride gushing about her boyfriend. As unsettling as it was for her, she had to admit that the sight of Taichi studying his notes with a calm look on his face was nothing short of eye-catching. Although it had only taken a second to glance at him, Chihaya felt her cheeks flush nonetheless. In utter embarrassment, she covered them with her palms.
She was determined to shield her vision for the rest of the trip when her phone buzzed.
from: Mashima Taichi  to: Ayase Chihaya  Do you feel dizzy?
Chihaya's breath caught. Her fingers typed in a reply.
from: Ayase Chihaya  to: Mashima Taichi  No  I'm ok
She heard Taichi tapping on his phone.
from: Mashima Taichi  to: Ayase Chihaya  Were exams hard?
from: Ayase Chihaya  to: Mashima Taichi  Of course You didn't need to ask
Chihaya was beginning to wonder why they're suddenly conversing through their phones when a new message stilled her thoughts.
from: Mashima Taichi  to: Ayase Chihaya  Why aren't you looking at me?
The next stop was still a few minutes away. There was no way she could sprint away from him again in this compartment. Taichi would easily see through her lies. She had no choice but to come clean.
Since it was more mortifying to type it out than to simply voice her concerns, she tucked away her phone on her skirt pocket. After clearing her throat a bit, Chihaya declared with a slightly shaky voice, "B - because you look like that."
"Like what?" Genuine cluelessness was evident in Taichi's tone.
Chihaya buried her face in her hands again as she whispered, "Handsome. Too handsome."
Silence stretched between them so much that Chihaya wasn't sure if Taichi had heard her. She risked taking a peek at his expression when she noticed him beet red, staring past the train window.
Chihaya wanted to cry. Chitose-neechan better know how to fix this mess she's gotten them in.
*
In the end, Chitose wasn’t of any help. After laughing at her sister to her heart’s content, she merely commented, “My, what a problem you have there, Chihaya.” She threatened to boycott her sister’s next magazine release as payback.
Grasping at straws, Chihaya then dialed Kanade’s and Sumire’s numbers. As soon as all the amused reactions winded down, Kanade stated, “Although I don’t have any useful advice to deal with what you’re experiencing, I think avoiding Mashima-kun is the last thing you should be doing right now. We’ll be entering university soon, and it’ll be harder to meet each other then. You wouldn’t want to regret that, ne, Chihaya-chan?”
Chihaya sighed. “I don’t.”
“Ayase-senpai,” Sumire chimed in. In a tone reminiscent of the time she guided them confidently through making Valentine’s chocolates to cheer up Taichi, Sumire announced, “There’s only one way to fix this. You have to build immunity.”
‘Building immunity’ apparently meant weathering through all the blushing and the rapid heartbeats until she got used to them. It may be a tall order, but there weren’t any alternatives and Chihaya had been worried about making Taichi worry about her. Putting her faith on Sumire’s reputation on matters concerning love, Chihaya found herself waiting anxiously on the train platform the next morning.
“This is the first time I’ve seen you this early.” Taichi stood next to her and she grounded her feet, desperately willing her face not to redden. Glancing at him, she stuttered, “O - ohayou, Taichi.”
Small talk passed between them until their train arrived. Settling on the empty seats, Taichi regarded her with mild surprise. “To be honest, I don’t think I’ll be seeing you at all for the rest of the week.” Chihaya clasped her hands. “W - well, Kana-chan said hiding isn’t a good idea.” She struggled to make eye contact, “A - and I want to be immune as soon as possible.”
Taichi looked at her blankly for a full three seconds. Then he broke into laughter, face lighting up so brilliantly that Chihaya had to avert her eyes.
I don’t think I’ll ever get used to this.
Chihaya can’t find it in herself to sincerely complain, though.

The Colloscyt is a terrestrial bird that is found primarily in the labyrinthine caverns and tunnels of the Underworld. They can be found in cave systems that are closer to the surface world, but further investigations have shown that these systems are, or were, connected to the Underworld. So it seems they are directly tied to this land down below, which makes sense when you look at these strange beasts. Gone are the wings that give them flight, as their limbs are now specialized for climbing and scrambling across stone. Their legs and arms are now greatly elongated, giving them a better reach as they scale the walls and ceilings of the Underworld. Their eyes have shrunken and lost their focus, now only good for discerning between light and dark. Not only are their eyes reduced, but so are the specialized throat organs that run down their neck. Hold up second, those wouldn't happen to be external larynges, would they? And how about that third pair of limbs that are sprouting from their back? Those structures seem awfully similar to the ones True Sirens have! In fact, they are the same, because the Colloscyt is indeed a True Siren! "Now say there, Chlora," you may say, "if these things are Sirens, then why didn't you say so in the first place?" A fine question! The reason is because we didn't know it was a True Siren for quite some time! Today, we folk on the surface world call these Cave Sirens or Blind Sirens, but we didn't have these names in the past. Since this species is tied to the Underworld, the people up top didn't really have much of a chance to study them or even see them! The conflict between the two worlds made expeditions and research trips quite difficult, so what information we received about this species (and many others, at the time) came directly from the denizens down below. Even with that, the sources were quite limited, as there wasn't a whole lot of demons and shades who were willing to talk to surface dwellers (and not a lot of surface dwellers wanting to talk to these folk in the first place). With that, many species found exclusively in the Underworld were either unknown or had very little information attached to them. The Colloscyts were one of them, as we only had the word of those down below and few measly parts and pieces. The reason I have called them Colloscyts instead of Cave Sirens is because "Colloscyt" is the first name this species had. This was the name given to them by the people of the Underworld, and it was the name they told us when we asked about these creatures. So for a long time, we called them that as well, until relations between the two worlds got a bit better and we could send researchers downstairs. When a welcomed expedition finally got their hands on a Colloscyt specimen, they were immediately like "hey, this is a True Siren!" And I imagine their Underworld guides were like "what is that?" Obviously the people of the Underworld were not familiar with the creatures up above, so why would they follow our naming conventions? Honestly, it is for the best they don't, because, as far as I can tell, they aren't going around calling everything a freaking dragon! Now that we have covered that, we can take a look at the Colloscyt (or Cave Siren) itself! As I mentioned before, the external larynges of the Colloscyt are quite reduced compared to the other members of its family. This is because the Underworld is kind of a funky place when it comes to sounds and noises. In such an enclosed place with such an array of shapes and sizes, the way sound travels and bounces can be quite erratic. Since every part of the Underworld is quite different from each other, tuning oneself to the environment is a bit difficult. With this, the high-energy, specially tuned hypnotic song of the True Siren family is kind of worthless. They could make it work, but it seems the process would take much longer to finesse, which means it would burn way more energy. So it looks like the Colloscyts let their external larynges reduce a bit, losing their ability to create this entrancing tune while still retaining decent mimicry. Though they have lost this song, they have replaced it with something a bit more helpful. With the help of their external larynges and specialized ears, the Colloscyts are capable of using echolocation to help navigate this darkened world. Their vocal chords produce a special sound, which then bounces off the environment and is then picked up by their ears! Quite helpful when sight isn't really an option in such a lightless place.
This ability is useful with navigation, but it also helps them detect prey. Like other True Sirens, Colloscyts hunt prey, but they use a rather different tactic when it comes to subduing and eating these targets. Climbing silently through the darkness, the Colloscyt will move to position themselves directly above their prey. Hanging from up above, they open their beaked maws and vomit forth a shower of sticky nastiness. This species can create an adhesive mucus, which dries quite quickly when exposed to air. They store up copious amounts of it in their crop, unleashing the torrent when prey is within range. When their target is drenched with this saliva, it will quickly ensnare them and make movement difficult. In a short period of time, it will thicken and harden, trapping prey in a solid mound of spit. Before that can happen, the Colloscyt will drop down and grab hold of the struggling victim. With more gooey saliva, the Colloscyt will "spin" their target in a cocoon, ensuring that they are sufficiently covered and bound. Often, the victim will die of asphyxiation, as their breathing orifices are covered in this sticky crud. Once they are neatly wrapped up and the cocoon has properly solidified, the Colloscyt will jab their beak through the thick coating and into the prey. Through their nostrils, the Colloscyt will inject a digestive enzyme that is pumped from a special organ at the base of their beak. This enzyme is meant to break down the insides of the victim, turning all the organs, muscles and whatnot into soup! When it is all melted into a slurry, the beak will be reinserted and their long tongue will help slurp up what is left! When the cocoon is drained of all nourishment, the Colloscyt will retreat, leaving behind a hardened cocoon and a bundle of bones. This sticky saliva of theirs isn't only used for hunting, as it also helps with deterring predators. When they are hanging from up high, another climbing fiend or a beast on the wing may try to attack them. When this happens, the Colloscyt will use its spit to gunk up their limbs and send them tumbling to the stony floor below. In some cases, the Colloscyt may wind up feeding on their own predators! This saliva is also used by mated to pairs to create nests for their eggs. They will climb up to a hard-to-reach place and use their spit to form a basket to hold their precious young. This construction is not a one-time thing, as the two will tend to the nest and add more mucus to keep it strong as time erodes it and their young grow bigger. When their offspring finally leave the nest, the mated pair will abandon it, constructing a new one when mating season comes back around. This vacant space winds up becoming the home of another creature. A lot of different species can take over these empty nests, which is important to keep in mind if you go poking around in them. I saw one during my travels in the Underworld and wanted to take a closer look. My guides were wise and advised me to test the nest before I climbed up close to it. With a few misaimed rock tosses, I succeeded in agitating the occupant of the nest, which turned out to be a rather large and angry female Mound Roach! No clue why it was dwelling up there, but I am sure glad I didn't get my face close to that thing!   This odd creature is known quite well by the denizens of the Underworld, and it should be no surprise that its spit is the star of the show! It's adhesive nature and quick solidification makes it quite useful when it comes to speedy repairs and patch jobs. Those who take excursions into the wilder parts of the Underworld will often keep a hardened bundle of this mucus on them. When equipment breaks or something needs to be glued, they will heat up the solid mass until it becomes gooey again. Apply it to the spot that needs fixing and leave it out to harden! Voila! If they don't have one on them, they can simply collect some from the field. Empty nests and discarded cocoons of previous prey are easy to come by, so they can just get it there. There are some groups down below that even keep a bunch of these birds as livestock, but not for meat! They harvest the spit that comes from them and then sells it as a material or even an ingredient! Turns out that demons and shades have made a dish out of this creature's mucus! "Cocoon Crust Soup" is the name, and it certainly made me curious when I heard about it! A soup made by bird spit? I thought it impossible, but my friends were quick to steer me to a restaurant that served it. I will admit that I was a bit hesitant before I ordered. Having spit in my food is usually something I avoid, and here I was about to order a whole bowlful! But I toughened my roots and gave it a shot! When I tried my first spoonful, I soon realized a problem: Cocoon Crust Soup is a bit too hot for a surface dweller like me! Keep in mind, I am not talking about "spicy" hot, I mean "hot" hot. Like boiling water hot. Turns out this stuff only liquidizes in extreme heat, meaning it must be prepared piping hot to get it to the proper consistency. Since the folk down here aren't put off by blazing temperatures, they serve this soup while its still boiling. One spoonful almost burned a hole in my mouth, so I had to wait for it to cool, which took a long time! Everyone had already eaten by the time I could even get my soup to a tolerable level! Eventually I got to taste it, and it was rather pleasant! A quite unique flavor, though the consistency was a bit gummy. To be fair, that was because I allowed it to cool, and thus it began to solidify. I have to imagine the waiters and cooks thought I was crazy. You get some weird plant person who orders a hot meal and then sits there for an hour and a half until it is stone cold. Sure, I could explain myself by saying "it's too hot," but I am in the Underworld! Who's going to believe me?!   Chlora Myron Dryad Natural Historian ----------------------------------------------------------------- It seems that that one of my go-to species ideas is take an animal that isn't a spider and make it a spider.

With Friends Like This
Happy 10th anniversary! Have some au where Lloyd never got kicked out of Darkley’s because Brad and Gene worked hard to keep him there.
mention of vomit but no actual vomit.
Lloyd flopped down on his bed, tossing the stack of flash cards beside himself. "Brad, tell me I'm not hopeless." Their final exam in Mastermind Philosophy was in the morning, and even after quizzing himself for hours, Lloyd was no closer to understanding the different options in evil philosophies. He pushed his bangs out of his eyes, turning his head towards Brad.
Brad spat toothpaste out of his mouth, rinsing his toothbrush. "I don't think you're hopeless. We just need to find a way to make the material stick. Short of literally gluing the answers to your desk." Brad paused, looking back at Lloyd. "What if we sneak into the classroom and do that? Wouldn't that count as evil?" He laughed a bit.
With a sigh, Lloyd shook his head. "That won't work. It isn't evil enough to excuse cheating. We need to find a way to-" The door of their dorm room opened, and Gene walked in with a thick stack of books in his arms. Lloyd sat up. "Please tell me that you've got some way to help me pass-some neurotic device or something to remember the six branches of thought or-"
Gene slammed the books down on his desk. "Shut up, Garmadon. First, it's pneumonic device. Second, you think I went to study with Finn because I value my friendship with him?" Gene rolled his eyes, holding up a rolled up and sealed piece of parchment. "I went because I was asking him for a memory spell. For you. Not that he knows that."
Finn hated Lloyd. It was a known fact throughout every grade in the school. The first day of school, Finn had drawn Lloyd's name as his mortal enemy assignment and he took the assignment to heart. He had made every move possible to create a miserable school year for Lloyd.
First it had been little things, helping Brad prank Lloyd by putting fire ants in his bed. Then it had become stealing his things and either destroying or hiding them. Lloyd had just given Brad all his school supplies to keep safe. Then it had become doing everything in his power to get Lloyd out of the school either by expulsion or in a body bag. Either would make Finn happy, Lloyd was pretty sure.
Lloyd hopped off his bed, bounding over to see the spell. "How does it work?"
Gene held it out of Lloyd's reach, which wasn't hard considering his recent growth spurt gave him at least five inches over Lloyd. "First, we'll tape it to you in the morning. Under your sleeve of your writing hand. For now, we need to get the knowledge written down on the paper. I have the best handwriting, so I'll fill it out with all my notes and from the study guide." Gene set the parchment down and began to unroll it.
Lloyd and Brad beamed. Lloyd practically skipped around their room to grab his toothbrush. "Gene if this works, I owe you uh...uh..."
"Your desserts for a week?" Gene teased, knowing just how much those meant to him.
Lloyd bit his lip and then sighed. "Yeah, that sounds fair."
--------------------------------------
Lloyd had to think to not roll up his sleeves after lunch the next day, which was hard given how warm the day was. He looked at Brad as he pulled out flashcards, handing them over. They had ten minutes until the test. "Quiz me!"
Brad laughed, shaking his head. "You've got this, Lloyd. Trust me, I've quizzed you enough. It's gonna be fine." Regardless, he took the flash cards and shuffled through them. "Okay, give me the villainous philosophy where the focus is on the big picture, focused on painting in big strokes as opposed to short sighted, pettier criminals."
Lloyd felt a burn on his arm, and the words came to his tongue like a shot of lightning. "Visionary Villainy."
Brad beamed. "So it's working?"
Lloyd nodded, rubbing his arms. The burning sensation hadn't gone away yet. He kept his voice quiet. "It kinda hurts."
"Well you only have to keep it on to take the test, as soon as you can get to the bathroom and tear it off, it'll be done with." Brad said with a kind smile. He closed his locker and walked with Lloyd to the classroom.
--------------------------------------
By the time the test was over, Lloyd's arm felt like it was on fire. It was somehow worse than the fire ants, maybe because of how concentrated it was, maybe because of the general itchiness of the tape and the heat of his sweater.
Lloyd winced as he peeled it off his arm, biting down on his lip painfully as the paper pulled at his skin, the tape practically melted. Under it, the skin was painfully red and the words looked half-burned into the skin. Lloyd wanted to cry, and gasped as he ripped it away fully, dropping it into the toilet bowl to flush it.
It stung so bad. There was no way Lloyd could put his sleeves back down, but there was no way to explain away the burn marks left behind by the spell.
Lloyd heard the bathroom door open and bit down on his lip as he reached for the toilet paper to make it sound like he had been using the bathroom. Someone knocked on the stall door, and Lloyd's voice cracked. "Occupied!"
"It's me." Brad's voice was quiet. "You looked like you were dying to get out of there, teach sent me after you. What's wrong?"
Lloyd dropped the toilet paper wad, and unlocked the door to show his arm to Brad. Brad let out a low whistle. "That's bad."
"Uh-huh." Lloyd felt numb everywhere except for his arm. "I can't hide it it hurts too much."
Brad chewed his lip, and then looked at Lloyd. "Then go back to the dorm room. I'll cover for you. Say Gene and I put an emetic in your food at lunch and you're puking your guts up."
Lloyd smiled half-heartedly. "You'd do that for me?"
"What are friends for?"

A Kiss for Luck and A Kiss for Cuteness
Epel x GN!Reader
Neige x GN!Reader
Everyone is welcome to read.
Hello Sorceress Yuri (@panacea-wishes)! I hope your day gets better and that school doesn’t kick your butt. Having homework and tests and essays always sucks so a little scenario to make you feel better might help! You wanted to be able to kiss our beloved apple boy and the fairest of them all in Twisted Wonderland. So...I hope this suffices!

Epel x Reader
You ran your hands through your hair staring down at your textbook. It was just so late this night but you needed to finish reviewing your notes for the exam you had tomorrow. Professor Crewel and Professor Trein were not lenient when it comes to the information you absolutely had to know.
You sigh and lean back in your chair. The two lamps on your desk still glowing, the light of the moon shining through the window. You rub your eyes to try and alleviate the heaviness weighting on them but it did little to cure your exhaustion.
“(Y/N)?”
You shoot up in your seat. Despite the late hour, Epel was in your dorm room. Your exhaustion must have been worse than you thought. You didn’t even hear him come in.
“Epel! What are you doing here? Aren’t you going to get in trouble with Vil-san?”
“I wanted to make sure yer alright. You didn’t text back.”
You went to grab your phone. There on the screen were a bunch of texts you missed from Epel. All with increasing degrees of worry.
“I’m so sorry. I got all caught up with studying and I lost track of time and I left my phone on silent and--”
“It’s okay. It’s okay. You’re busy.”
You groaned. “Busy is one word for it. I don’t know how I’m going to make it through tomorrow.”
Epel furrowed his eyebrows but suggested, “I can help you study.”
“Oh no. I can’t ask that. It’s late and the exam is tomorrow and I don’t want you to get into even more trouble.”
“I’ll do it!” Epel determinedly confirmed. He pulled up the extra chair you had and plopped down in the seat. “Hand me those flashcards!”
Newly invigorated by his determination, you dived straight back into your studying. This time, Epel quizzed you on the concepts.
An hour later, you felt more confident about your grasp on the material. “Thank you for helping me out, Epel.”
“S’no problem.” He grinned at you before letting out a massive yawn. “I should get back.”
You nodded and escorted him to the door, “You’re really great for helping me out like this.”
Epel nodded and was just about to step out the door before he stopped and turn to you again. “Ack! Before I go, I want to give you something. For luck.”
You raised your eyebrow but gestured for him to continue. He hesitated for a moment before leaning in and giving you a kiss. You froze at the meeting of his lips and yours. But it only took a second before you melted into his embrace.
Reluctantly, you both pulled away and Epel waved before leaving, “Night!”
“Night,” you whispered after him before shutting your bedroom door.

Neige x Reader
You and Neige were out and about before you saw this massive floppy sun hat in the window of a store and immediately tugged him in to try it on. Neige laughed as he allowed himself to be dragged by you. You find the hat again and plop it on your head. It was slightly big on your head and the rim of the hat dipped to cover part of your field of vision but you enjoyed the feeling it gave you.
“What do you think?” you asked Neige, striking a few different poses with the hat. Neige laughs at your antics before he switches the hat on your head for his beret. Patting the beret down on your head for a snug fit.
“There! Now we can see what you look like with my hat on!” He guided you over to the mirror and there was a you in his little beret and him with your floppy hat. Despite your hat not really being his style and being extremely wide, Neige made it work because of course he did.
As you were staring at him, he leaned over and gave you a peck on the cheek!
Your face flushed and your hand immediately flew to touch the spot where his rosy red lips had met your cheek. “N-Neige!”
He flashed you a charming smile, eyes closed, cheek rested on his hand, and head tilt with the hat flopping to the side, following his movements. “What’s wrong? I can’t give a kiss to my wish come true?”
“Wish come true?” Your brain wasn’t really contemplating the words you heard.
“You are my wish come true! I wished for someone fun and kind and beautiful to find me and now I’m dating you!”
“Ah!” Your other hand flew to your uncovered cheek and steam bursted from your ears. He’s too cute! He’s too cute! You surged forward to bury your face in his chest.
“That’s not fair! You’re too precious! I can’t keep up,” you whined, muffled by the cardigan.
“You’re cute too! I’m lucky to be able to have met you!” He cups your face in his hands to bring it up. He gives you another kiss. On your forehead this time. And another dazzling grin graces his features and you couldn’t help it. You leaned in and pressed your lips to his. Neige takes a moment to register that you actually boldly gave him a kiss, right in the middle of the store! Nevertheless, he quickly reciprocates and kisses you back. The hat on his head dips to shield you both from view of any passerbyers.

march - just some thoughts
i have read more this month than any other month? and its not slowing down its only 3/12 so i have 2/3 of a month to go and i’ve read 26 chapters. even if these chapters are ‘short’ at 10 pages, if i wanna count by ‘20 page’ chunks i’ve still read 13 chunks so far. and i’ve still got more time in the month left. most other months i’ve managed to read ‘a lot’ i read 10-20 chapters. so i’m doing really good.
grammar is a weird thing? in reading i feel like its quite easy now to understand. when listening or watching - same. and yet if asked ‘why do i say/type X’ or ‘why is it written/spoken like X’ i have absolutely no explanation in my head. i could not explain the grammar if prompted. this puts me in a weird place and i feel like i SHOULD go over a grammar guide again just so i can WORD what i’m intuitively understanding.
this is a bit bizarre to me because within the first 6 months of study i DID read through an entire grammar guide just to get an idea of what i was about to look at, and it hardly made sense once actually reading/watching/listening. i understood the guide fine, but actually Seeing chinese i was still confused. i would reference AllSetLearning’s Chinese Wiki on some basic points, then after 6 months i just stopped. now its been what 1.5 years and - reading is so easy, listening is so easy, grammar wise. none of the grammar confuses me. but i no longer ‘explicitly’ have any idea what the fuck the grammar is. i used to. i studied it explicitly before trying to read/listen. and yet now that i can read/listen, i have no idea how to explain the grammar. i can listen to a podcast and i don’t think about what the grammar is i just get it. i read and just know what i’m looking at. its like english - i cannot fucking explain it. Which makes speaking/writing a bit hard. Because when i try to check if i’m right i have no fucking clue HOW anymore - i just say/write what comes to mind and HOPE it makes sense. i have no way to conciously check for errors except ‘does this feel right’? And that’s not good enough for me lol. So I definitely do need to eventually read a grammar guide for explicit explanations again.
Technically I think “English and Chinese Grammar Side By Side” grammar book would be an excellent one to use. Because i read the first 50 pages of it and it compared it to english (so it explained english too), and it was very easy to understand and started basic then got more involved.
I’m probably gonna use my very old Chinese Grammar Self Taught by Thimm book instead. Just because I really like that book. Then I guess use another after (probably Basic Chinese Sentence Patterns since its modern and perfect for ‘catch your own mistakes’ study and much shorter than Eng+Chinese Grammar side by side).
Anyway I’m in a very weird place right now lol. I know i’m understanding grammar that is stuff I never even studied initially in the grammar guide, but unable to explain what it is, and a lot of stuff i did explicitly study in a grammar guide i completely forgot the explanation for. My reading and listening is GREAT, because all my effort only has to go into learning new words lately! its relaxing! Its the only part i need to do! But my writing/speaking i am very concerned about because being able to check myself for mistakes is something i’d like the ability to do.
how grammar is presented really makes a difference in how well i get it. there is some serious benefit to ‘show simple first then build up what you know’ that text books tend to prefer. versus like grammar reference books that may start with some in depth stuff.
i tried to read a japanese grammar guide the other day and 1 it was great but 2 it covered some ADVANCED stuff i never learned in genki 1+2, and so it was Explicit grammar description of stuff i had literally years ago been immersing in japanese and Still not conciously known about. So i felt. Overwhelmed lol. I felt so confused. I feel like I might switch to Tae Kim’s grammar guide primarily just because its structured with basics covered first. and i feel like until the basics are again glued into my brain, seeing even more advanced stuff just confused me so much i had no idea how to remember it. which is funny because? my usual strategy with grammar guides is to just read it and let what sticks stick and what is confusing be moved on from, in the hope i will later see it again and understand it better. so like based on what i usually do i should’ve just been able to read through it (and i’m gonna try anyway lol). but truly japanese grammar just... my mind does not like wrapping around it and remembering it. (chinese grammar is so much easier for me... so much easier....;-; )
i have been tempted to just Restart Nukemarine’s LLJ (Lets Learn Japanese) memrise decks, because I KNOW they worked for me last time really really well. And they include Tae Kim grammar lessons. And I know if i did it then maybe i’d get back to where i was years ago pretty fast.
I tried Earthlingo app. Its a cool idea, I don’t think its worth it though unless you planned to get Rosetta Stone (since Earthlingo is FREE). Earthlingo features 1000 words per language, taught to you by exploring video game worlds as an alien. Its a cool concept, but since all words seem to be nouns then you aren’t even learning the most common verbs/adjectives. And 1000 words is not a lot. And you could learn 1000 quite fast if using srs flashcards like Memrise or Anki (think weeks if you push yourself, and a month or two months if going at a regular pace). Earthlingo you have to slowly explore the worlds so that eats time, you have to choose to test yourself (so you don’t review nearly as often as flashcard apps), and one test includes walking around the world clicking the object which you’re given the word for (takes time to find the right object). All this means a word that might take maybe 15 minutes to study over a few weeks, might instead take much longer to study and learn. I don’t use duolingo because it generally covers so few words (usually 2000-4000 i think which is good for a beginner resource but you have to do the WHOLE course to get to all those words and i take so long on duolingo that could take YEARS for me versus a month on a flashcard app or clozemaster). Duolingo I also don’t use because it very slowly paces learning material (it takes me months/years to get through 1000 words on duolingo - just personally i go so slow on it, i think faster people would find a use for it). Likewise Lingodeer takes me AGES to get through (and i think covers 2000 words nowadays? I’m shocked Duolingo has more words for the japanese course tbh). However, Lingodeer is by far the best ‘app’ for Japanese grammar lessons in app practice form. Even if basically all the apps feel pretty slow to me in how fast they give you new info. Earthlingo is cool that its free, and for learners 12 and under i think it would be super useful as a way to engage them and keep them studying (since what child likes flashcards? whereas as a child i would’ve loved this). But as an adult Earthlingo is sooooo slow on how fast you can learn words, and it does not even offer very many words (1000 is a nice bare minimum but without verbs/adjectives it can only be a supplementary learning tool for beginners at best).
Link about Lingodeer having 2000 words in a course. (Since its SO hard to lookup how much vocabulary lingodeer includes :c )
Nukemarine’s LLJ memrise decks (which I’m considering going through again but ToT agh flashcardssssss.... they sure do work though agh)
http://www.chinese-grammar.com/beginner/ - this is the site I read a chinese grammar guide on at like Month 3. I am rereading it now maybe it will help me remember wtf grammar explicitly is. ToT (A tip, read Beginner, Intermediate, Advanced sections). Last time I visited the site you just clicked a section, then saw each fully explained grammar point and clicked ‘next’ it was nice. Now its laid out a little less ideal for me, but its still got all the same nice info! (Also honestly if you are a beginner I really DO like this grammar guide... it introduces basic info first, gradually gets more complex, and i could follow its logic knowing like 200 hanzi and 100 words ToT. its very easy to understand even if it takes a while to apply that info).
im probably gonna read hanshe more today. i’m at the point where either i know enough vocab, or the writers style has just ‘clicked’ idk. but now i just am not getting bogged down by unknown words and am just. speeding through enjoying the plot. Also rip me this novel has 155 chapters and im only on chapter 30.
watching japanese lets plays is really fun! i feel like im 3 years old cause i just see nouns i can learn pretty easy in context cause i know the game well, and hear some vaguely familiar verbs, but its fun! also it helps i know kingdom hearts 2 like by heart so. a lot of it makes me instantly cheerful and nostalgic. roxas’s voice is so cute in the japanese version.
oh i almost forgot: I found a book recently for chinese that for it’s like 10 page grammar guide summary at the beginning ALONE i think is more than worth the 4 dollars it costs to get. It has a ton of compound words and its a reference book in mandarin and cantonese (it has pronunciation for both, all characters are in traditional). I got it initally because it as a bunch of compound words and I’d like to get better at knowing a lot of common ones. But the intro to the book has a page explaining sentence structures in chinese, then examples. Its so straightforward and to the point. I love it. The book is “Understanding Chinese: A Guide to the Usage of Chinese Characters” by Rita Mei-Wah Choy. (There is also a companion book for individual hanzi, which is nice but this book specifically I’m finding more useful).
what i really like about Listening-Reading method, and reading, as study activities: no matter how I do them it is only improvement. I have a tendency to ‘redo’ material i don’t feel i fully mastered, or refuse to move on. So when i have duolingo, flashcards (sometimes i can move on if i ignore reviews/make myself do new stuff), books, grammar guides, self guided classes - i have a tendency to redo the material. over and over. and not progress and challenge myself. whereas with reading - every time i look up a word its useful because its new or something i clearly Need to review (not something i’ve actually learned and can move past reviewing). so whether i reread material or read new stuff, as long as i run into things i find somewhat challenging (feel the desire to word look up), i know i am running into new material i can learn. Same with listening-reading method: whether i finish a book or just skip to random books, any new chapter i do will give me new words to learn/remember (until i’ve reached a point of perfect listening comprehension which is a WAYS away). There’s no way for me to mess it up. I can give up a book im bored with, i don’t have to stick to one resource to the end.
someone tell me why professionally made chinese audio books almost NEVER line up to the chapters???? whyyyyy ;-;
Even More Notes lol:
So I read so much in Pleco, which auto pronounces, I have COMPLETELY forgot. 得 地 - for these two, when they’re attached after a description like 淡淡 慢慢 高兴 etc, when are they pronounced di versus de???? i’m pretty sure  得 is pronounced de when its an adjective like ‘-ly’. but for  地, i don’t remember if when part of a describer if its pronounced di or de????

Lessons in love... 80′s!Professor Brian May x Student!reader pt 5
WARNINGS: age gap, unprotected sex (Wrap it), spanking, student/teacher relationship, swearing
You let out another small giggle. You were supposed to be doing some research for a paper but for the last twenty minutes, Gwilym had been chewing your ear off. He like the sound of your laugh, but so did Brian and only when it was him making you laugh. Not some boy.
"Y/N!" Brian raised his voice, making you jump in your seat along with Gwilym and the others in the class. "Get on with what you're supposed to be doing, and stop flirting."
Your mouth fell open. "We are doing what we're supposed to do," You answered back, a bit miffed with Brian for calling you out in front of everyone. "And I'm not flirting."
Gwilym let out a heavy sigh as he sat back. "Damn it, I thought I had you then." He snickered making you smile and hush him.
"ENOUGH!" Brian snapped. "Get on with it."
You scoffed and rolled your eyes at him. Brian didn't miss your attitude, and he'd make sure you lost it before his next class. The class went on without anymore outbursts, mostly because you had decided you weren't talking to Brian now.
"As you leave, please collect your last tests from my desk. Any questions, please come to my office hours Monday and we'll discuss them further." Brian stood behind his desk quietly as the class stood up and began to leave his classroom. "Miss Y/L/N, a word please, about your test."
"Thought you said we were to come to office hours?" You hissed.
"Now!" He sighed heavily.
You scoffed and rolled your eyes once more, turning back into the classroom.
Brian walked over to the door as the last of the students left, shutting the door behind them. "You've no more classes now, have you?" You shook your head. "Good." He flicked the door lock, pulling the small blind down over the window so no one could see in. "Bend over the desk."
Your brow creased, "What? I thought you said we-"
"Did I fucking stutter?" Brian snarled. You gulped shaking your head and quickly got into to position.
Brian licked his lips as he walked up behind you, grasping the hem of your skirt and throwing it up over your lower back, baring your pantie covered ass to him.
"You've broken so many, fucking, rules today." He hissed, bringing his hand down over your right ass cheek. You cried out only for him to hush you. "Quiet."
"M'sorry, sir." You whimpered.
Brian shook his head. "How hard is it to behave, hmm? No skirts. No teasing. No attitude. You behave yourself." He slapped his hand over your left cheek causing you to moan into your hand. "And there you were, flirting with that boy." Brian slapped your right cheek again.
"I wasn't flirting, sir."
You cried out as Brian hit your left cheek. "That's not what it looked like. Gwilym seemed to think so too." He growled, grabbing a hold of your lace panties (a gift from him) and ripped them from you. You let out an irritated gasp but were quietened by Brian shoving your embarrassingly wet panties into your mouth. "Be quiet." Brian leaned over your back, pressing his mouth against your ear. "I think I best remind you who you belong to."
You moaned around the material, nodding. Brian stepped back from you to admire your red arse and dripping pussy whilst he freed his hard cock. The sound of Brian's belt clinking behind you, whilst you were bent over his desk in his classroom was dangerous and thrilling, that alone had you wet.
Brian delivered one last slap to your plump buttocks before he spread them with one hand and used the other to guide his cock in between your wet folds.
"Oh, fuck." Brian groaned as he sank into your warmth. "Fuuuuck, you're so tight, baby girl."
You moaned around your panties, your fingers wrapping around the edge of the desk. Brian pulled back as he grabbed a hold of your cheeks, his thick cock stretching you as he sped up his movements.
"Fuck. You're so naughty, aren't you baby girl. You wanted this, didn't you? Hmm? You wanted me to fuck you over my desk."
You nodded moaning a muffled 'yes, sir' around your panties. Brian slammed into you harder, showing no mercy as he reached forwards and wrapped his hand around your throat, lifting you up off his desk slightly.
He let out a deep groan. "Oh, God, you feel so good, baby girl."
Your muffled moans mixed with Brian's groans as he slammed into you, squeezing a little tighter around your throat as your pussy tightened around his cock.
"Can I come?" You moaned out around your panties the best you could.
Brian let out a breathy chuckle. "No." He snapped. You cried out in frustration. "You're going to take, everything, I give you, and be a good little girl." He released his hold on your throat and grabbed a hold of your hips.
You cried out as Brian hit harder, deeper inside of you until he stilled with a deep growl. His hot cum filling you up.
"Now," Brian panted, slowly withdrawing from inside of you. He reached round and pulled your balled up panties out of your mouth. He helped you up and turned you to face him, holding your panties up. "Put them on."
You nodded, and like the good girl you were, you quickly bent over and pulled them on. Once they were in place, keeping Brian's cum in place too, you stood up straight and looked up to Brian with big innocent eyes.
Brian shook his head as he fastened his belt, "Don't look at me like that."
"But, I wasn't flirting. Maybe I did, wear the skirt on purpose, but I wasn't flirting with, Gwilym. I swear. He's a friend of Lucy's new boyfriend-"
"Shh," Brian placed his index finger to your lips with a soft smile. "Are you okay? I wasn't too rough, was I?" He asked as he moved his hand to cup your cheek. You gave him a smile, nodding. "You were such a good girl for me. I promise, tonight I'll reward you." He smiled a little more, leaning in and pressing his lips against yours.
Brian let you leave his classroom with the promise of picking you up later so the two of you could spend the weekend together.
You couldn't believe what the last month had been like.
When you woke on the morning of New Year's Day, Brian was laying beside you asleep. You weren't sure what was going to happen, and although you were worried and a little scared, you were happy. You decided to do as Brian had done the morning after your first time together and made the two of you on a cup of tea.
"I thought you'd left." Brian stood in the doorway to the kitchen with a sleepy smile, his hair all over the place and his dressing gown tied around him.
You shook your head, handing him his drink. "I'm too old for an awkward morning after a one night stand." You smirked a little up at him, using his words.
Brian let out a heavy sigh as he stepped closer to you, folding the collar of his shirt down that you were wearing. "We've got a lot to talk about, haven't we?"
You nodded biting your bottom lip as you ran your eyes over him. "Are you naked?" You raised a curious eyebrow at him.
Brian chuckled, pulling at the shirt you wore. "Are you?"
The two of you had been extremely careful. You promised nothing would ever happen whilst you were in school, that was asking for trouble. But Brian fucking you over his desk in the classroom obviously ended that rule. You hadn't changed too much in your everyday life to bring too much attention to yourself. It wasn't like you did anything, anyway. You just had a few 'extra study classes in the library' if Lucy ever asked. Plus Lucy had started seeing Rami so she was hardly at the flat, meaning you were free to spend the weekends with Brian without question.
"Oh," You chewed on your bottom lip anxiously as you thought about Brian's question. "Do you think it's a good idea?" You asked Brian as you entered his flat.
Brian chuckled. "Safer than fucking you over my desk."
You gasped, playfully hitting Brian's  shoulder. "Brian."
"What?" He chuckled, "It is." He smiled putting his briefcase down. "Look, we don't have to go, okay? I just thought..." He sighed, rubbing the back of his neck as the two of you walked over to the sofa. "I never get to show you off. I thought this would be the safest time to do just that." He smiled shyly as the two of you sat on the sofa. "And, I know we don't do anything together. Thought it'd be something different than sitting around here."
You smiled up at him. "Oh, Bri, you don't need to show me off. And I love just sitting around here."
Brian nodded, "Still... Plus, Freddie says we have to go, so,"
You rolled your eyes playfully. "We best go then."
"We best had." He grinned, slipping his arm around you. "It'll be fun, love."
You nodded as you chewed on your bottom lip in thought. "I don't have anything to wear with me." You thought aloud to yourself. "I'll have to go back to mine."
"Don't worry about that, love. Why don't we go shopping tomorrow? We'll buy you something nice."
"By we, you mean you." You gave him a pointed look, slowly turning into a smirk as Brian began to grin at you. "Okay. Nothing too expensive."
"Deal!" Brian pressed a kiss to your cheek before he jumped up from the sofa. "I'll give Fred a call. He'll be happy to know we can make it."
You watched Brian walk into the kitchen with a smile. Anxiety and fear of going somewhere your relationship with Brian was out in the open ate away at you, but there was a little part of you that was excited. You never did anything daring, or unlike you, so what the hell. You were going to be with Brian and his friends. You were safe.
You'd only just told Freddie and the others who you exactly were to Brian. A mix of emotions was putting it lightly.
Freddie thought it was scandalous and loved that you had a forbidden love thing going on. (You chose not to address the use of the 'L'-word.) John thought the two of you were playing with fire, which of course you were. He also asked the questions you'd been telling yourself to not think about, 'How long do you see it lasting?', 'Is it worth it?', 'Is Brian just using you?', 'Are you just using Brian?'. And then there was Roger. He didn't say much, just sat with a shit-eating grin on his face before asking Brian how it felt to have a twenty-something to suck your cock.
Brian answered with, 'For Christ sake, Roger', in his disappointed professor tone that had you rubbing your thighs together.
"Now," Brian walked back into the living room. "Would you like to eat food before I eat you or after?" He smirked standing in front of you.
You covered your face with your hands and laughed. "Oh, God," You groaned. "After, so I don't have to hear any more of your dad jokes." You giggled and got up of the sofa, making your way into his room. "I was hoping..."
Your voice drifted off as you moved away from where Brian was standing. He was old enough to be a dad. He scowled to himself as he thought about himself being old enough to be your father. He let out a heavy groan, one of the many things John had pointed out to him cane back to haunt him.
"Brian," You called out from the doorway. As he lifted his head his mouth dropped open making you grin. "Are you coming?"
Brian gulped as he took in your beautiful naked body stood waiting for him. "Yes," He began grinning and made to join you, the haunting quickly forgotten.

Sorceress Saeko’s Guide to Helpful Herbs and Plants
The Laughing Lily is a species of magical plant native to Eastern to Southeastern Asia, but was introduced to western shores circa 1500 AD by magical merchants. Characterized by brilliant flowers and stems and leaves that move quite like snakes, these plants have been known to be lethal if not handled properly. It is advised to strike up a mutual respect with them before handling. Their namesake “laughing” is not actually laughing, but more of the sound their flowers make to attract pollinators, both magical or not. Known pollinators include Blast Ended Skrewts, Flobberworms, and Nifflers.
Kuroo didn’t know where to look anymore. Out of all the books in the library, years of Professor Sprout’s teaching expertise, and everyone that he asked, no one could explain to him how the hell mandrake respiratory systems work. And there was going to be a test on Wednesday? Well now he was thoroughly fucked.
Kuroo put his head on the table. Every inch of the desk he was working on was covered in parchment and books. He cast a simple arranging spell, and the books flew into a neat stack on top of one another. If possible, he mussed up his already messy hair. It now looked like a swarm of Blubbering Humdingers had taken residence in his black locks.
"You've been moaning and groaning all week, Kuroo,” Kenma said. Kenma put his legs on the other side of the couch. He fiddled with his wand.
"It's nothing. I just can't wrap my head around mandrake respiratory systems, you know?" Kenma sighed as he flipped through Kuroo’s books.
"This is third-year material, Kuroo,” Kenma said, not looking up from one of Kuroo’s textbooks. “Is Quidditch the only thing that's inside your head?" Kuroo scoffed.
“Hey! I’m good at Transfiguration, okay?”
“Well it looks like this was the trade off.”
“You think so?”
“Hm. Well maybe someone in your year could help you.” Kuroo’s ears instantly perked up at the suggestion, but he slouched back in his seat again once he realised what Kenma was implying
“And you think I haven’t asked everybody to help me?” Kuroo asked. He raised his hands in defeat. The volume of his hair seemed to deflate along with his ego.
“No.” Kenma gave him a blank stare. His pupils dilated before the candlelight, reflecting the flame in his dark eyes. He shrugged.
“So who should I—”
The Fat Lady’s boisterous laughter waned from the inside as you closed the door behind you. Even though it was already dark in the middle of January, sweat dripped off of you like dew on morning grass. A large clay pot was balanced in between your arms, holding a plant with magnificent neon flowers that buzzed around in the air like angry bees.
Kenma pointed his chin to your wobbling form that was stumbling up the stairs, obviously having a hard time with the heavy weight between your arms.
“(Y/N)?” Kuroo asked. Kenma nodded and went back to his book, not saying another word.
To say that you and Kuroo were friends was an exaggeration. It wasn’t that he didn’t want to talk to you, it was more like he couldn’t. Whenever he found the time or energy to strike up a conversation with you, one of his friends would always whisk him away to do something else. The most you had exchanged were simple nods and pursed-lip smiles.
Kuroo sucked on his teeth as he thought about how to approach you. He couldn’t just knock the girl’s dorm door and say, “Hey, (Y/N) I need your help and I’m doomed if I don’t get it.” Nor could he plop down right next to you and suddenly ask about your favourite Quidditch teams in the hope that you would reply. He didn’t want to startle you.
Kuroo clicked his tongue. “Do you perhaps have someone else in mind?” Kuroo asked Kenma.
Kenma shrugged half-heartedly. Kuroo massaged the space between his eyebrows in frustration.
This was a new problem altogether.  He could have just asked Professor Longbottom, but his constant paranoia that Kuroo wouldn’t understand the subject made Kuroo even more confused than he was before meeting him.
Opportunity struck the next morning at breakfast. Amidst the stacks of various breakfast foods, you were perched on a bench near your friends. A copy of the Daily Prophet in hand, you seemed to pay no mind to the magical flowers that— quite literally— slithered their way around your head. They didn’t even seem to bother you one bit. You must be invincible in tickle wars, Kuroo thought.
He shook off any unnecessary thoughts in his mind. Taking a deep breath, he marched off to where you sat. Kuroo sat down next to you.
“Good morning,” you said, looking up from the newspaper. “Oh, hi Kuroo!” Kuroo gave you the warmest smile he could muster. He hoped that he didn’t look like that Slytherin second year when he smiled. What was his name again? Kagetora? Koganegawa? Kageyama?
He was snapped out of his thoughts by a sudden lunge from one of your flower-snakes on your head. Startled, Kuroo raised his hands to defend himself. He did not account for the glass of pumpkin juice in his hand. It landed with a magnificent splash on both of your robes.
“Stop that!” you cried. The plants on your head stilled with a flick of your wand. You looked down at the wet puddle on your pants. Kuroo muttered a Hot-Air Charm to dispel it.
“I’m sorry, I just—” Kuroo apologized.
“No, no, it’s not your fault,” you interrupted. “Professor Sprout gave me these Leaping Lilies to take care of for the week, and,” you peeled a stray leaf off your hair, “I haven’t yet found out how to tame them exactly.”
“Ah.” What was he supposed to say now? Should he risk being seen as too straightforward and directly ask for your help? Or should he stretch it out a bit? No, breakfast time was almost over.
“Um, (Y/N),” he said. His eyes were suddenly looking at the two of yours. There was an expectant look in your eyes that derailed Kuroo’s train of thought.
“Can you do me a favour?” You cocked an eyebrow.. The Leaping Lilies around your head seemed to glare at Kuroo. He shook off their stare and started to formulate his words.
“What’s up?” you asked.
“Do you know how Mandrakes work? Their organs, diet, habitats, all that?” You nodded. “Could you maybe… study with me sometime? I’m struggling a lot with them.”
You parted your lips a little. Did you think he was being a little overbearing? Did he say something wrong?
"If you explain it to me,” Kuroo sputtered, ”I'll save you premium seats on our match against Slytherin next week." You simply threw your head back and laughed.
Suddenly, it seemed someone shocked his left shoulder with a bolt of electricity. Kuroo looked at his shoulder. You had put your hand on it, like Kuroo wasn’t just an acquaintance you had bumped into several times prior, or had spilled a cup of pumpkin juice on you earlier.
Had your positions been switched, Kuroo would have just given you a dirty stare and slipped a dose of diluted Shrinking Solution in your orange juice. Thank goodness you were nice.
"It’s okay, Kuroo. Mandrake anatomy is much more complicated than that of other various magical herbs and fungi."
Kuroo sighed. Ok. Mission completed. You removed your hand from his shoulder, brushing his collarbone in the process. Saliva pooled in his mouth, but not from the food in front of him. You surely hadn’t put much thought into the touch, but he was starting to get goosebumps from mere skin on skin contact. Aroused or afraid, he didn’t know.
“Although, those premium seats don’t sound too bad,” you said. “I’ll see you later tonight at the common room?” Kuroo nodded. Once you were gone, he pumped his fist in the air and hissed a quiet “Yeah!” under his breath. He had just scored himself a study date.
The roof of the Great Hall twinkled in reflection of the stars above. Classes had ended with few to none mishaps, save for Kuroo’s Hiccuping Solution blowing up in Bokuto’s face. No mind, nothing that Madam Pomfrey couldn’t fix.
He spotted you sitting down the table eating with your friends. You had discarded your robes in favour of some more casual clothes, like Kuroo hadn’t caught you in sweatpants and an old T-shirt out of the corner in his eye in the common room before.
This was the first time he was actually paying attention though. Kuroo hesitated to call it ‘staring’,  but what else would it be? His eyes flitted between the friendly banter in front of him and the… rather attractive specimen that he was due to spend time with later. Kuroo focused his willpower on the mashed potatoes in front of him than the fork in your hands.
Supper went on without a hitch. Kuroo refused to touch pumpkin juice, the innocent beverage evoking memories from that morning that he would like to forget as soon as possible.
Kuroo spotted you walking out the hall with your friends once supper was over. He caught your eyes and pointed his chin back to the dormitories. You muttered a quick excuse to your friends and joined him as you walked back to Gryffindor Tower together.
“So…” Kuroo said, “how’s it going with those Laughing Lilies?” You furrowed your eyebrows. Shit. What was the name of those plants again? Kuroo specifically remembered that they were lilies that tried to attack him, nothing else.
“Oh!” you exclaimed. “You mean the Leaping Lilies.” Ah, shit. You were going to think that he was a rude fool that couldn't even remember the names of a simple plant. Not to mention that you were that passionate about them. But you shrugged instead. “They’re doing alright.”
You made small conversation with him on the journey back. Talks about Quidditch, annoying professors, and the newest wizarding discoveries in the field of Herbology. The little eye-twitch you did whenever you laughed made Kuroo giggle like a lovesick schoolboy. Hey, who was he to talk? Maybe he was one after all.
The common room was filled with the usual hustle bustle of the Gryffindors. Kenma sat in his usual armchair near the fireplace. Upon seeing you enter besides Kuroo, he raised an eyebrow. Kuroo gave him a wink. Kenma sighed and went back to his book wordlessly.
Kuroo's books were already out on the table when you went upstairs to get yours. the result of half an hour of contemplation over which books to put on the top of his stack to make him seem knowledgeable enough. He allowed himself to slouch back and close his eyes. When he opened them, you were standing in front of him with a dark green book in your hand and your lips too close for comfort. Kuroo snapped to attention right then and there.
“If you’re tired, we can do this another time, you know?” you said. Kuroo waved his hand.
“No, I’m alright," he replied. You opened your book in front of him.
“Okay,” you replied, your voice tinted with uncertainty. You pulled a strand of your hair back as you took out your quill and parchment.
"So a Mandrake has six main organ systems..." you started.
Was it wrong to say that Kuroo studied your mannerisms more than the mandrakes? Bumping into your hand when reaching for a new piece of parchment. His attention not on the diagram you were holding, but on your lips that were explaining. Kuroo could feel Kenma roll his eyes from behind him. Surely, your smile was the devil’s whisper leading him astray from the topic at hand.
And it wasn’t just the way you looked either. Your words flowed with both a confidence and passion that sprouted from your love of the theme. Unlike the previous people he had come to for help, you spoke in your own words. Layers of textbook unclarity dissipated beneath your understanding, and for a second, Kuroo caught himself marvelling at how passionate you were at this. That and your constant checking on Kuroo; making sure that he had understood every section you went over, made him fall harder and harder.
Kuroo felt like skydiving; the gravity of your smiles pulling him farther and farther away from the clarity of his mind that was long forgotten in the skies above. Free falling through the clouds had never felt this good before. He would do it every waking second of his life if it meant he could experience the dopamine and adrenaline coursing through his brain like this.
“Thank you so much, (Y/N),” he said, when you two were finally done. You had been kind enough to lend him your notes and observations to help him with Professor Sprout’s subject.
“It’s no problem, Kuroo.” None of you dared talk, afraid to disrupt the quiet cooperation that you had slowly built up over the last four hours. Your books were in hand, ready to accompany back to your dorms. As were Kuroo’s.
“You could-" you adjusted a stray lock of hair, “you could come to me again for help if you need it, you know?”
“Sure.” Kuroo bobbed his head, excitement coursing through him at the thought of another one of these meetings with you. “Think I will.”
The day of the match rolled around faster than Kuroo thought it would. It seemed just like an hour had passed between getting his test back from Professor Sprout (marked with a bright ‘Outstanding’, thank you very much) and gearing up for the fifth game of the season.
Kuroo’s crimson robes fluttered in the wind as he waited for you to come. Thirty more minutes before the match was due to start, and you were nowhere in sight. A steady stream of students had began coming down by now, some asking why Kuroo was shooing them away from perfectly empty, usable seats. Sweat trickled down between his palms and the leather gloves he wore.
He let out a breath of relief, then sucked it back in in anticipation when he saw you arrive on the bleachers. You ran as quickly as you could to take the seats which had been so faithfully saved for you.
"Thanks for the seats, Kuroo," you said. Kuroo pursed his lips and nodded.
"No problem."
An awkward silence blanketed the two of you. You balanced between the balls and the heels of your feet, not knowing what to say next. One of your friends clapped you on the back and called you to come sit down.
"I'll be with my friends, yeah? Good luck." And there it was again. That tantalizing touch of yours that made Kuroo want to ditch the game in favour of a boring class or a lazy night, given that it was with you. Your touch lingered on his arm as you retreated back to the safety of your close friends.
"Y-yeah. See ya," Kuroo said, not realizing that you had left by now. As he went back to the dugout, he found himself stroking the spot on his arm where your hand had been just moments ago. January afternoons weren’t supposed to be this hot, were they?
"Oya? Is that the girl that Kuroo's been seeing?" a voice asked behind him. Owl-Boy’s shock of black and white hair, frozen in its place by constant flying gave him a nice greeting.
"Wha— I'm not dating her, Bokuto!" Kuroo said. Bokuto’s other owl-eyed friend was hot on his heels with his own comeback.
"You sure look like you are from the way you give each other googly eyes," Akaashi said. Bokuto laughed at the bright red slowly creeping up Kuroo’s face.
“Shut it, Akaashi,” Kuroo rebuked. “Back me up here, Kenma.”
“You did look kinda lovestruck when she was in front of you, you know?” Kuroo whipped his head back, a hand over his heart over-exaggerating his betrayal.
“I’m shocked! Oh, to be stabbed in the back by someone you called a dear friend!” Kuroo moaned. Kenma and Akaashi rolled their eyes. Bokuto, however was at his friends’s side immediately.
“Who stabbed you in the back?” Bokuto asked. His eyes were filled with genuine panic. “Was it a Levitating Charm? Should we get Madam Pomfrey?”
“Bokuto-san,” Akaashi’s calm voice called. Akaashi shook his head. Bokuto pouted,  standing back up.
“Akaashi’s right though, you know?” Kenma muttered.  “Your eyes go kinda like—" Kenma stretched out his eye sockets with his fingers; he looked like a corpse that had been given a rude awakening. Kuroo scoffed.
The joking was cut off by a loud bell outside, signalling that the players would need to get ready. The Gryffindor players circled around Kuroo.
“Alright, let’s do this, Gryffindor!” Kuroo said. Friendly Schoolboy Kuroo had switched his place with Quidditch Captain Kuroo. “What’s our plan this time around, Kenma?”
Kenma looked up. “Um, if any of the Bludgers could land a hit on Kageyama and MIya Atsumu, that would be great. Other than that… playing normally shouldn’t be a problem.” Kuroo put his hands on his hips, in his best rallying stance.
“Alright you all!” The Gryffindor Quidditch Team put their hands in the middle of the circle. “We are the blood that flows smoothly and circulates oxygen, so that the brain can work normally.” With a strong “Let’s go!” they marched onto the field.
With the screech of the whistle, they kicked up into the air.
Kuroo flew like he had never flown before. He would like to say that adrenaline coursing through his veins was from the cheering of the crowd below; but he would be lying once he caught sight of you. A Gryffindor banner was in your hands, the enchanted red and gold glitter blinking from the glare of the sun. You joined the other Gryffindors in support of their house players. His heart swelled in pride when you shouted his name a little louder than the rest.
The game felt like a fanciful daydream his mind would cook up when he was bored during History of Magic. Kuroo’s feet semed to kick through soft clouds as he warded the Quaffles away from the hoops. Sure, some of them occasionally went in, but it was enough of a point gap to let them relax a little. Someone had definitely slipped in a little bit of Felix Felicis into his orange juice that morning.
Even the Slytherin chasers—who had been hailed as the best chasers Slytherin House has ever seen in a decade— seemed to have a rough time getting through Kuroo. It went without saying; Kuroo felt invincible.
Bokuto caught the Snitch, accompanied with shrieks and wild applause from the crowd. He pumped it into the air, making sure that everyone in the audience would be witness to Gryffindor’s victory. Half-hearted handshakes and enthusiastic claps on the back were exchanged. Kuroo almost revelled in the defeat on the Slytherin’s faces.
Kuroo’s heart was almost close to bursting. His little victories over the past week were proving too much for his heart to take. Little did he know, he would bag another one soon.
“We should bag some cakes from the house elves later!” Bokuto suggested as he changed back into his robes.
“Like the rest of them haven’t gone and done that already,” Kuroos said. It was a Gryffindor tradition to go and ask the house elves to cook up a feast every time they scored a Quidditch victory.
“Kuroo,” Kenma said from the outside of the locker room, “you’ve got a visitor.” Kuroo walked out into the frigid January air to see your shivering form waiting outside on the benches.
“Aren’t you cold there?” he asked. You perked up at the sound of his voice. It was kind of cute how you waddled over to where he was standing. Kuroo cast a simple heating spell between the two of you. “What brings you over? Aren’t the others already on their second bottle of butterbeer by now?”
You giggled. Kuroo felt his heart almost collapse with his second victory of the day; the first being quidditch, this being the second.
“I lost the game of rock paper scissors, so the others sent me down to give this to you all,” you said. From your pocket, you conjured an empty saucer. With a wave of your wand, a plate of crudely decorated pastries emerged. “Great game, by the way.”
Kuroo’s stomach rolled a little at the sight of the pastries. You nudged the plate in his direction. “Go on, try one!” Tentatively, Kuroo reached for the least-threatening one. A small cupcake with red an yellow icing.
His stomach did a backflip when he bit into it. But definitely not one of glee. The punch of cinnamon in his nose made him cough up a little bile. The icing stung his tongue with overpowering tones of sea salt and… pepper?
Nevertheless, Kuroo scoffed the entire fist-sized cupcake down. “These are amazing, you know?” he asked.
“Really? I made some of them myself, you know?” Ah. Well there had to be a trade off for having such an amazing green thumb, Kuroo thought.
“Well they’re really good,” Kuroo said. He pretended to still be chewing so you wouldn’t force another one upon him.
“I’ll see you back in the Tower?” you asked. Kuroo pretended to swallow them, nodded his head.
“Sure thing.” Once he was sure you were out of sight, Kuroo stuffed the pastries into his robe pockets. He even ate another one, a giddy smile on his face.
“Goes to show how much people are willing to do for love,” Akaashi muttered. He gestured to Kuroo who was happily skipping away back to the dorms, the taste of salt and pepper cupcakes still on his tongue.
