Hypnosis File Recommendations!

I've been gently motivated to start listening to and re-finding old hypnosis files again due to the reception to the previous post. I've been surprised at the amount of actually decent files I've come to remember, but still struggle to find many files that really blow me away. As I've said before, though, I'm a very stubborn owl.

That all being said, here are more files for your consideration.

Read all descriptions and warnings before engaging with these files. Do not engage with anything here or anything in my blog if you are under 18.

Dr. Voidritch's Experiment by Bloof

This is a ren.py game about being being a test subject for the eccentric Dr. Voidritch and his hypnotic experiments. It's rather silly and fun, while still having real hypnosis, and fairly competently done hypnosis at that. It's best to download it instead of running on browser.

There is also a sequel to this game called Lavender Labs, though I have not tried it. It seems a lot more like a slice of life thing with dating and hypnosis from the screenshots though.

The rest of these recommendations for today will be about one person, Dragontize.

I rediscovered her shortly after the last recommendation post, and was pleasantly surprised. The best way to describe her overall vibe is "deceptively cute".

She opens every file with the same endearing tagline, "Hello world, I'm Dragontize, I messssmerize with voice and eyes." Her voice is light and enjoyable, the intonation the type to make the edges of your mind feel like they're oozing with pleasant sensations in a minute or two of talking.

Her files are much more directly practical and hypnosis-centric than most, with even her fantastical story-based files keeping a good balance. This is all to say that at a minimum, you will enjoy yourself with these files, even if they may not blow you away.

A Slice of Fractionation by Dragontize

This is how I re-found Dragontize, the actual original file with Evil Fractionation I found! I couldn't locate it for a long time, and realized that the issue was DuckDuckGo being a kinda bad search engine when it comes to specific things.

While I'm working on an Evil Fractionation file myself, this one is a nice and casual overview of it.

Brainwashing Fractionation by Dragontize

A very straightforward and enjoyable fractionation file with the light theming of becoming a member of Dragontize Inc.

For the Very Motivated Subject by Dragontize

This is maybe her best file. It does an interesting sort of thing where the file functions as if you're in the room with her, signaling multiple times that she has moved in some way, but without actually seeing her at all. It doesn't overly describe what she is doing, it's a very naturalistic sort of script in contrast to the often overdetailed storybook manner that others do.

It also very effectively plays with the concepts of anticipation and focus. It demonstrates a better understanding of the psychological aspects of hypnosis than a lot of others.

Good Little Thief by Dragontize

Lastly, a light and fun fantasy session. It's about a thief that is tasked to steal something from a wizard. That's all I'll say.

I've been enjoying going through files even if I don't find many of them super effective. I hope you all will be able to enjoy them even more than I have.

Okay! So a couple of friend and I in a discord server were speculating what Yui from Go! Princess Precure would look like if she was 6th Ranger.

Now this is not to say her not becoming 6th ranger is a bad thing, the opposite really! She’s one of Precure’s best supporting characters, hell I’d even say she IS the best supporting character in Pretty Cure.

This is just a fun fan creation of what one of my fave characters would look like if she was given a key and perfume.

So…Here she is! Cure Fable, Princess of the Forest!

Now I won’t lie, her design was easier than figuring out her theme. A lot of renditions of Yui show her as the Princess of wind/air. But…ehhhh… it just didn’t fit to me. Since she wants to be a storybook author I started thinking how that will play with her theme.

Then it hit me! Lots of stories, specifically fairy tales, happen in the forest no? And add in the mystical vibe of forests it just made sense. Alsoitgavemeanexcusetomakeheragreencure- AHEM.

Anyway, I also tried to think of her other Key Transformations/Mode Elegants as well. The names were hard to figure out at first but I think these are pretty good.

if you’re on the fence about watching Blood Origin, here’s why you should:

rogue one-esque found family vibes! a bunch of complete strangers uniting around a common goal and bonding along the way 🥺

incredible music from bear mccreary (who also notably did the black sails music)!! lots of cool hurdy gurdy and string instrumentals as well as sung folk songs from the main character

the main character is the most feral badass bard you could ever hope for. 10/10 could go from singing in front of a crowd to murdering you without stopping to catch her breath 🥰

the visuals! the sets are a nice mix of medieval dwarven architecture and cool elven decoration. the costumes are INCREDIBLE every single one of merwyn’s dresses is stunning. the outdoors scenes look straight out of a storybook

genuinely funny and cute and heartwarming moments that don’t slow down the plot too much. they tease you with a little bit of every character’s backstory while also leaving you enough room to imagine more

the plot is a nice allegory for imperialism and classism and what sacrifices the few will make for the sake of the many

jaskier cameos!!

in conclusion go watch it! it's easy to binge all four episodes at once and i promise you'll be entertained!

i love beefy remus. not necessarily muscular but just big, meaning tall and hairy and a soft stomach and thighs like treetrunks… you get the vibe, him and i are new acquaintances but love love love him

remus’s family dynamics can be super super interesting, idk if this is a rare thing but maybe just mostly something i’ve been thinking abour lately. him and hope being each others best friends (again to add to the loser part) and so similar in how they treat other people. she’s shown him how to make a house a home, they bake and cook together a lot, hope read him all the storybooks she could find when he was small. i love lyall being a nerdy funny old man who works with animals (or magical creatures) and loves nothing more than being out in nature with his family. they go on hikes with both of their backpacks filled with books and snack, they look at plants and animals and lyall keeps blabbering on whilest remus is just happy to be with his dad. in a world where remus has lycanthropy i love him teaching remus how to be with the wolf, and how to love himself though it all.

I am SO getting the vibe from Mew's character that he and Top are going to wind up in the 'they deserve each other' category by the end of the series.

Firstly, anyone who thinks Mew didn't 100% plan on backing out last minute on Top has not figured out the game that's being played here, because that was part of Mew's screening process. He wanted to see how Top would respond, he also wanted to bait him in so he could accomplish two things, the first is the it gives Top time to get to know him, and the second is it gives Mew time to figure out Top. See, Mew likes stories, he understands cause and effect. He understands Top's archetype in the gay hierarchy almost immediately, and knows he needs time to figure out which buttons to push. And he does.

Mew picks up fairly quickly that Top likes the dichotomy being created between them, the lothario meets boy next door, it's very storybook, it's what he understands. It's what he plays into, but not so much so that he becomes a parody, because he knows Top's intrigued by how self-possessed and sure of himself he is as well. He's also likely aware of how well-positioned he is to occupy a place in Top's life, because Top comes from a family with money, he's in his final year of college, and the reality of that is when Top does decide on someone to take home to meet the parents, it's not going to be someone like Boston. It was never going to be someone like Boston. It's going to be someone like Mew with his perfect grades, flawless social reputation, and easy-listening music. Mew knows how this game is played.

Except, he really doesn't. And that's where shit will inevitably get toxic. No amount of reading or manipulation is going to prepare him for what happens when he catches feelings, and Top manages to wrestle some of the control Mew has back. He's going to be completely in over his head when control is lost, and emotions come into play. Because emotions are what Top understands. Because he'll know exactly how to use Ray and Boston to drive a wedge between them, and get Mew to himself. And at the end of the day, Mew's sensitivity will probably see him choose Top over Boston and Ray, because he's not going to be able to shake the attachments that form after sleeping with him easily.

And let me tell you something, Boston and Ray are sure to be far from the only problems. If this is as true to the queer community as I think it's going to be, we're talking about a small community. One where certain figures are considered like... the top tier. Two well-known and desired figures in the community coming together like the next Bennifer? Oh that's gonna make waves that extend well beyond Boston and Ray. We're talking about a community where locking down certain people is front page news. We have our "It" girls, same as straight folks.

I haven't been so excited for a piece of queer media since Queer As Folk, and I mean it wasn't actually good. It was Russell T Davies using fan-fiction tropes to get good looking guys to act out his thinly veiled sex fetishes, while throwing queer women the most boring bone of all time. Only Friends is both sexy and infinitely more watchable and it's only been a single episode. I'm ready to commit to six seasons and a movie of these messy whores.

Thousands of years ago dragons ruled the skies. With their terrible fiery breaths and intelligence they were seen as the biggest threat to mankind. But as the years pass and the world changed dragons started to disappear one by one from the war between them and humans. Nowadays they are simply deemed a fantasy in storybooks. But you are still alive. Sure you might have to stick to your human form and adapt to modern life but the large scaly beast was still active inside of you, waiting to break free.

You lived in an apartment complex in the lesser side of the city, where crime was a bit more prominent, your typical robbers and car jackers. No one dared to bother you so you were never worried of waking up with your stuff stolen or getting mugged off the street. The reason you moved here was because it was much more interesting than surrounding yourself around pompous idiots in the white collar district. You also had made a couple of friends in the complex including a young mother with two young children that you babysit every Friday night and an widow who always told nice stories.

It took awhile to adjust to your new mundane life. You missed the times when you were a large liege seizing havoc upon knights and hoarding your prized possessions but that didn’t mean you couldn’t entertain yourself. At night you would fly through the dark skies over the city looking down at the light up buildings just like the old times.

This particular morning you woke up around six am getting up and ready for work at your new job. You was a camera person for this live set children’s show called ‘Welcome Home’. If you had to pick it reminded you a bit of Mister Rogers and Sesame Street. There were live actors that would dress up as these characters and do your typical lessons like being kind to one another and how to count to ten. You didn’t have no opinion on it since you wasn’t the targeted audience. After getting dress and shoving a toast in your mouth you rush out of the building to the train station taking the D train to the uptown area. While riding the train you looked down at your phone scrolling through your feed not paying anyone no mind, even when someone was singing loudly drunk.

After getting to the studio and clocking in you immediately got to work setting up the cameras. The other workers rushed around preparing to record a few episodes while the actors got ready. You’ve met all of them finding them kinda quirky but friendly folks, but your least favorite of them all was Wally. He was a weirdo to say the least. The ‘star’ of the show most would say and for good reason; he was funny, charming, and pretty outgoing to everyone who met him. A lot of the people around here and his fanbase found him attractive as well with his cocoa brown skin and dark blue dyed hair that was always put up in a pompodor. You however didn’t see the hype but then again humans didn’t really get you going, you only dated a handful in the past. On top of all of this he just had a weird vibe that you couldn’t exactly place, maybe because he had a bit of a staring problem that people overlooked.

After thirty minutes everything was put in place as you started to record. You sat there with the other camera people as the actors performed on the set. This particular episode featured Wally, Barnaby, and Howdy teaching kids about counting and adding. Wally was explaining how adding works while looking straight at your camera, but it felt like he was staring at you. There goes that weird feeling again but you quickly shook it off. Afterwards the break bell rings and you all stepped away to eat lunch. You pick up your subway sandwich sitting down between Poppy and Frank diving in hungrily, scarfing it down in less than ten minutes.

“Geez Y/N, you sure can eat!” Barnaby says teasingly from across the table. “That wasn’t even five minutes!”

“What can I say? I’m a growing person.” You respond patting your stomach causing the others to laugh.

“How about about an eating contest?” He challenge raising an eyebrow.

“You’re on big guy.” You smirk as Julie jumps up clapping her hands. “Me and Frank can be the judge!” Frank cuts his eyes over at the rest of you while holding up a book. “Why me? They’re going to just get themselves sick.” He shakes his head.

“Come on Frank, it’ll be fun.” Julie pleads as he sighs putting a bookmark in his book before closing it.

“Can I also judge?” A voice calls as all of you turn to the star of the show himself, Wally. While everyone lights up you couldn’t help a frown appearing. Great. Mister big shot was here.

“Sure Wally!” Julie was saying excitedly as she starts listing stuff they would need. You could feel his eyes boring into the side of your face as you tried not to look over at the blue haired man. Don’t make eye contact to give him any ideas. The bell rings signaling that lunch was over. As everyone disperse to go back to their places you felt a hand on your shoulder looking over to see it was Wally. He was staring at you so intensely that it felt like he was looking into your soul.

“Hello Y/N, how have you been?” He asks in that sickly sweet voice you loathed.

“I’ve been alright Wally.” You said putting your hands on your pockets. You both stared at one another in some type of staring contest. He was shorter than you, probably just above 5’1, so he was looking up at you. You wasn’t intimidated by this kid, in fact you was more annoyed by him than ever. What did he want? You couldn’t help but feel like he was hiding something.

“So did you needed something or did you just wanted to stare at my pretty face?” You said chuckling trying to break the tension. At your comment Wally grins flashing all of his teeth and you could have sworn his pupils got larger.

“I don’t mind either.” He said in a flirtatious tone causing you to double take. Was he…flirting with you? Just as you was about to say something he turns and strolls off casually, hands behind his back as he hummed the Welcome Home theme song.

God he was weird.

— but, steve is, without a doubt, the strictest amongst the older kids. fortunately, he’s used to being the babysitter, so when he found out you were a little (particularly a mischievous one) he knew he needed to ensure you’re kept safe.

— sometimes, on the rare occasion you’re little when you’re drunk/high and get overwhelmed, steve is extra extra extra affectionate towards you. he just adores when you get all fuzzy in the brain but decide you just ‘want dada’. he always prides himself in being ‘more fun than the party’. he would be so soft, buckling your seatbelt and helping you get changed when you get home, making you a bottle to help your headache.

— however you mostly want the juice boxes and goldfish he’s stashed in his glovebox for moments like these <3 and he’s more than happy to carry you out bridal-style to take you home instead where everyone else waits.

— his usually responses but softened to increase your blushing; “oh yeah?”, “that’s funny, adorable even.”, “baby, enough arguing, you’re far too little.”, “oh? you’re being a little brat on purpose?”, “c’mon darling, that’s enough now.”

— secretly enjoys when you’re bratty on occasion so he can assert his Dad Authority™️ (but never consequences you beyond a timeout because- c’mon, you’re too adorable for a punishment!)

— however, steve being strict doesn’t mean your puppy dog eyes haven’t worked on him a handful of times…

— loves loves loves when you call him ‘dada’ or ‘stevie’, which only happens when you’re really little.

— found out you were an age regressor after you drunk-confessed that information to him at a party. needless to say, the morning after was full of tears and plenty of reassurance that ‘you’re not a freak’ and ‘it’s okay, i don’t mind taking care of you’.

— buuut of course, steve just couldn’t help himself after you agreeing to being taken care of.

— seriously, steve babies you every 👏 single 👏 chance 👏 he 👏 gets 👏

— “you’re waaay too little for that, here-“, “hold my hand- i don’t care- i don’t care, hold it- good girl.”

— can’t escape him trying to subtle get you to regress just because he enjoys taking care of you a lot. like, to the point he begs you to make “babysitting time” and will find any excuse to try and babysit you.

— steve is SUPER overprotective and won’t let you forget it. with this, he’s also very overbearing (but tries to control it). he always wants to know what you’re doing and where you’re going, when you’ll be back and if that includes any babying-

— whenever the group is talking and you whine out for attention, he just turns to you, index finger over his mouth, “shhh, one second- baby, the adults are talking.”

— LOVES setting you down on the kitchen counter so your legs can swing back and fourth. he just adores picking you up, giving you piggyback rides, carrying you bridal-style, anything to show how small you are compared to him.

— “you’ve had a really, really long day. you definitely need some rest, don’t you baby?” followed up by a cheek kiss.

— such Dad™️ vibes. always scolding everyone when they refuse to listen or use logic, typically found pinching the bridge of his nose.

— “awww, she’s blushing!” “let me see- aw, that’s adorable!”

— knows exactly what to say in order to get you comfortable in his lap, curled up while he rocks you. he tries to act like he hates being the babysitter, but at the end of the day, you’re both asleep, with you on top of him in the rocking chair, his arms lazily wrapped around you with a discarded storybook on the ground and an empty bottle beside it. <333

— loves teasing you. getting you all flustered and red-faced. only when it’s the older kids around, though. he knows you prefer to only regress around the older kids due to how unpredictable your headspace can be sometimes.

eddie …

— opposites-attract caregiver x little dynamic, with eddie being the rockstar punk and you being his little rascal kid.

— honestly? eddie LOVES taking care of you. he babies you almost more than steve does, which says a lot. he just can’t help it! he loves how adorable you get when you’re nodding along to him strumming his guitar or holding his shoulders to dance on his feet.

— eddie found out you were a little when he saw you, steve and robin slip off into another room at a party. curious, he decided to walk in and find you curled up against robin, stuffed lamb in your lap with steve rubbing your back, consoling you through a panic attack (which caused you to slip).

— admittedly, eddie bursting into the room definitely made the situation (at the time) a lot worse, but after the pair reassured you that eddie was a ‘safe person’, you seemed to calm down a bit.

— you calmed down especially when eddie let you try on his rings to let you refocus.

— really, really, really loves tickle fights or anything involving tickling you. he thinks it’s the cutest thing ever when you kick your legs and squeal in laughter, watching your eyes go wide when he calls steve over to help.

— he definitely blows raspberries on your tummy, all teasing about it too; he walks two ring-claud fingers up your thigh, stopping at your shirt hem to gently start pulling up, up, up… before lifting the fabric abruptly to blow a dozen raspberries on the centre on your tummy. you burst into a fit of giggles, trying to squirm away from underneath the older boy.

— “i wonder… where is… steve? ohhh st-“ “NOHOHOHO- DOHOHON’T!” <333

— “where are you hiding, you little rascal?”

— he looks tough but really? he’s a huge teddy bear. he loves making you giggle and smile, making sure you aren’t upset.

— it actually really, really bothers eddie when you’re upset. he hates seeing you cry and will do anything to prevent it. obviously he knows sometimes you need a good cry, so alternatively he just lets you curl up in his lap while he holds you, whispering sweet nothings and reassurance in your ear.

— “aw, is someone… ticklish? right here?” eddie smirks, watching you squeal as you writhe beneath him, who has you pinned by the wrists as his pokes at your sides relentlessly. “i think- yeah, i think you are!”

— you could sit and play with his ring-claud hands for HOURS. he gladly lets you sit in his lap to examine his hands by twisting his rings up and down his thick fingers all you desire, giggling at how some rings clink! and clank! together. “you like my hands, sweetheart?” he asks softly, but you’re so lost in playing with the rings of metal like some kind of baby stacker that you nod a minute after the question. eddie chuckles and presses a kiss to your cheek, admiring your dazed state <333

— absolutely LOVES when you sit on his lap and play the drums (really it’s just him holding your wrists to direct the beats… but hey, you’re making music). he also really loves when you get all excited and bounce in his lap, his knee bouncing along to the beat as well <333

— “you’re waaay too little for that, sweetheart,” eddie chuckles, pulling your hands away from the cutting board. “let daddy cut your fruit.”

— the best at inconspicuous regression; getting you dressed, picking out your outfits, helping you brush your teeth or braid your hair, cuts up your food and opens your snack wrappers, adores when you get really tiny and need to be carried. even if you weren’t planning on regressing that day, you’d somehow manage to end up laying on eddie’s chest, fast asleep with a binky bobbing between your lips.

— stickers, bubbles, colouring books- eddie LOVES all the activities and will never decline watching a play starring your stuffed animals.

— forehead kisses. lots, and LOTS of forehead kisses <333

— him and steve LOVE kissing you, peppering your face in millions of little kisses until you’re giggling and begging them to stop.

nancy …

— nancy is a very soft and sweet caregiver, extremely nurturing to you and almost full-blown motherly; she often even refers to herself as ‘mummy’ when speaking to you.

— “c’mere baby, come see mummy.”

— loves dressing you up in cute frilly outfits to parade you around in, doing your hair with ribbons or bows, adding clips to complete the look before tying your shoes for you.

— despite steve and eddie babying you quite frequently, everyone knows nancy has ‘the motherly touch’ and all it takes is a “hi, my sweet baby,” with her hands carding through your hair for you to be a babbling mess, all smiles and breathy giggles as you cling onto her.

— nancy really likes when you regress around the ages of 1-3 yrs old because it makes her feel like a mother big sister. she loves taking on the nurturing tasks of tying your bib, wiping your face after eating, giving you a bottle, rocking you to sleep, playing with you, etc. it’s all so much fun to her!! <3

— commonly refers to you as her ‘real life babydoll’ <333

— sometimes if you’re feeling “fussy” after a stressful day, nancy will know just what buttons to push in order to get you sitting on her bedroom floor, wearing a tutu and one of her sweaters, begging for ‘mummy’ to ‘hurry up, ‘the tea party is starting soon!’

— “mummy, wan’ ‘ugar?” you slurred from behind your binky, holding out a fake sugar cube dish with the tilt of your head. nancy giggles, holding a hand up to her mouth before turning back to give a quick smile to steve and eddie, who have been watching through the crack of the door the entire time with smiles of their own.

— “you’re all the sweetness i need, my sugar,” nancy smiles, giving your cheek a kiss as you blush with a smile.

— doesn’t force you to regress, but sometimes if you’re feeling really fussy or stressed, you often push away the help from the others to relax, which causes them to become more attentive until you’ve accepted their help (since they know you won’t ask for their help upfront and refuse the help in fear of “being a burden”).

— nancy comes off the most ‘pushy’, in regards to helping you regress, but she’s very kind about the whole process and probably enjoys it more than you do. her methods of helping you regress just include lots and lots of sweet-talking and praise, gentle touches on your shoulders and back to help you relax your muscles from being tensed.

— found out you were a little when she caught you changing into nothing but a pull-up and oversized t-shirt. of course, you cried in fear of being embarrassed but nancy smiled sweetly, pulling you into a small hug to rub your back and comfort you. you didn’t realize how good nancy was at consoling someone until she had you nodding off in her lap with a bottle pressed to your lips <333

— acknowledges your headspace can range in age, but knows you prefer to regress around the ages of 3-5 yrs old to feel like a “big kid”.

— “awww, my sweet baby, don’t pout,” she kissed your nose before giving it a boop. “mummy’s gonna take such good care of you, i promise.”

— “sit still while mummy brushes your hair, precious.” <333

— definitely is a baker and lets you help with baking all sorts of treats. making cookies together every weekend is an essential for mummy-baby time.

— loves letting you help out with the chores to make you seem like a “big girl”, giving you that feeling of still being so incredibly small that you can only do the easy tasks alongside the big tough adult tasks (i.e: “can you help mummy carry the laundry, baby?”). it’s a simple act of babying that makes you regress almost-instantly, and nancy smiles knowing this.

jonathan …

— the most awkward caregiver EVER!!!

— but oh my god, he’s such a natural at caring for you, it’s… almost scary 💀 like, he will know exactly why you’re crying within seconds of you sniffling. he’s got a good sense of when things are okay and when things aren’t okay.

— “her bear…- no, no that’s- yeah, that’s what she wants- look!” “here, baby,” (you immediately stopped crying while the rest of the group stood stunned).

— does the ‘awkward caregiver slouch’ when he’s standing <3

— “hmm?” “awe, thank you.” (you handed him a flower plucked from joyce’s garden, but he didn’t need to know that).

— didn’t fully grasp the concept of ‘age regression’ as well as the others at first, but after nancy explained it thoroughly, he was a lot more inclined to help out and interested in your small space. he completely understood why you regress after nancy explained it to him, so he felt a twinge of sympathy for you, making it a priority to take care of you (but of course, nobody could ever know that).

— jonathan is such a sweetheart, but also extremely awkward. like, very awkward. he just stands there quietly with a nervous smile as you tug on his leg excitedly, babbling away. he’s always either taking photos on his camera, working at his desk or just more secluded from the others, so you showing him attention takes him by surprise (but oh, he loves it).

— “johnny!” “baby! hi!” <333

— oddly enough, when you’re upset or overwhelmed, sometimes just laying your head in jonathan’s lap while he reviews photos on his camera or leans back in bed to rest with you on his chest, really helps you relax.

— “are you taking pictures of me?” he smiles as the pair of you walk in the woods, his polaroid camera in your hand as you giggle, snapping candid walking photos rapidly of him.

— jonathan obviously doesn’t judge you for being a little, especially since he understands it’s (mostly) involuntary, hence he’s always the first to offer his room as a quiet ‘calm-down’ spot.

— he found out you were a little when you found him at a party, sobbing and begging for ‘mummy’. he then proceeded to let you drag him around until you both found nancy. needless to say, while he was confused (until further explanation later on), he allowed his older brother instincts to kick in and shelter you from any flailing arms in the crowd.

— he couldn’t help but tell joyce (and hopper, since he was there smoking on the porch) about your “little side”, and how he’s been your caregiver for awhile.

— joyce and hopper just turning to look at each other before smiling, joyce giving a nod. “that’s great, honey.” (secretly, joyce is thrilled. she’s glad her son is putting himself out there again, and hopper is just as happy, too).

— “johnny? can we go for a drive?” “of course, baby, where’s my keys-“ he would pat himself down until feeling the familiar jingle in his back pocket. “there! let’s go!” <3

— he knows any of the boys driving helps you regress, car rides being a huge help for easing you into a small headspace. however, particularly when jonathan drives, that’s when you feel the smallest. he drives slow, carefully and precise, talking to you sweetly the entire ride. sometimes he’s left to carry you back inside after you fall asleep.

— he likes that you’re one of the first people you cling to or hide behind when you’re anxious or nervous; he likes being the ‘protective-but-awkward’ older brother who would do anything to protect his little one.

robin …

— big sister vibes!!!

— always the first person you go to for treats or help with hanging up a drawing on the fridge, since you know she’s the least strict.

— robin loves to learn about age regression on her own time to be super duper informed on how it works, how the group can support you, where to buy certain products to help you, etc. she just cares so much!! <3

— lots and lots of praise <333

— robin always reminds the group of your presence, typically she’s the one who speaks up about you needing something, etc. her and jonathan are the best at sensing what you need to calm down when you’re really little.

— “she’s a baby, dingus! you can’t just curse like a f- freaking sailor!”

— usually gives into your puppy dog eyes the easiest, bonus if she gives into you around steve.

— “come on, look at her- she’s adorable, steve.” (in response to her letting you eat a bag of gummy bears before supper, steve walking into the whole scene) “yes, i’m well aware.” (he pretends to be annoyed but really, he’s resisting the urge to let his Dad Authority™️ crumble from how cute you look sitting on your knees, knuckles deep in the bag of gummy bears with a toothy grin).

— surprises you often with little trinkets/toys/accessories <333

— likes to join in on the teasing when she’s the only one left to partake <333 finds it so cute when you beg her to “save you” from a brutal tickle fight but see her sit in a nearby armchair to watch with a lazy smile instead. SO CUTE!

— often joins nancy in babying you or dressing you up (however, just to tease the boys, nancy calls it ‘girl time’ where only robin and her can baby you) (of course the boys don’t mind but they can’t help but occasionally peer through the crack in nancy’s door to see all of you having a tea party).

— “robbie?” “yes, bugaboo?” <3

— robin loves being a safe older sister who you can babble away to. she likes when you sit in her lap and let her brush your hair while muttering about all your tiny thoughts.

— “i asked robbie!” “robbie said i could!” “robbie already said i was allowed!” (yeah… robin maybe gives into your cuteness a little too much)

— knows you like to try and “fit in” with the others, often trying to sit out on the porch with the boys when they’re sharing a joint or having a couple beers, so she’ll gently direct you away and wipe your tears (caused by being “left out”), secretly siding with you to make you giggle.

— “the boys think they’re sooo cool, don’t they?” “uh huh, but we’re cooler! we’re the- the coolest robbie!” <333

— robin and steve always love when you try and sneak into their work, amused at your attempts to slide in with other customers to ‘surprise them’. robin plays into the game, pretending you’re just a random customer when you shyly walk up to the counter. until you whine, tugging the counter lock and pouting, so robin swiftly scoops you up over the counter with a smile. “aw, i’m just joking, little love.” she chuckles, sharing a playful smirk to steve who’s leaning against the cash register, shaking his head with a grin.

Fixing Wish (2023) In My Sleep - Part 1

So, a few nights ago I had a dream. No, like, I was asleep and literally had a dream.

The dream was simple. I was explaining Wish, that new Disney movie, to my parents, and ranting about how it should have been better. Then I began to give my actual ideas for how it could be fixed... and I woke up, those ideas fresh in my mind.

So, here's part one of how I would fix Wish, and do it better asleep than Disney ever did awake.

First off, Asha is an attendant in the Royal Court. Specifically, she's a member of the Camarería, who acted as attendants to the Spanish Queen- since Rosas is meant to be based somewhat on Spanish and Mediterranean Culture, I decided this would be an applicable position! This would also give her a reason to discover Magnifico's "dark secrets" later on and begin to doubt him. She's also very close to Queen Amaya, and the two often exchange advice.

Second- Asha is no longer "adorkable", like the dime a dozen protags we get these days. She is, to be rather blunt, a bitch. Yes, a bitch! Asha will have great character development, going from a stuck-up, somewhat prejudiced woman to learning the true value of being good for the sake of others, and not just yourself.

Magnifico and Amaya, also, are a power couple. The thing about Amaya, though, is that you don't know she's in cahoots with Magnifico until act three. Basically, she takes on the role of a happier Simon, and to a much better established degree.

Speaking of Simon and the others, they're kicked out. Nope. Not having that. The cast is already bloated, we don't need six more crazy teens to worry about. I'm keeping Dahlia, because she's decent disabled rep (and God knows we need at least that nowadays), and she's the one with the most character in the group.

And of course, Starboy is a thing! Of course he's gonna be a thing, how could he not? He's a semi-shapeshifting being made from stardust and good vibes, and is usually seen with a smile and a wink. He's rather smitten with humanity, and Asha, but slowly becomes more disillusioned as the film goes on, and luckily a more developed Asha will pull him out of his funk.

Now... how does this all fit into the plot?

The Plot of the Film

The film begins with a storybook opening, telling the story of Rosas. It remains relatively the same, with Magnifico suffering loss and wanting to create a kingdom where that could never happen again. A proud, strong foundation for generations to come. He is joined by his wife, Amaya, in making this happen.

However, he doesn't just "learn magic" out of nowhere, no- he wishes on a star so long and so hard, that star "wanted to listen closer", so it fell to the Earth and imbued him with stardust. A magical substance, stardust has the ability to change reality and make dreams come true, so he began to do so for other people and created his kingdom with literal hope as the foundation.

Rosas, a kingdom of inspiration for a better tomorrow, sprung forth! Heralded by Magnifico and Amaya, once a month they have a ceremony to grant three people's wishes- after all, if they granted everyone's wish, chaos would ensue. Even the most out of loop person would understand that, after all. Anyway, people are selected, and their deepest desire made a reality.

Magnifico soon discovers that this is an excellent way to keep people at ease, and listening to him. His kingdom- he can't lose it to chaos! He will only grant the wishes that have the kingdom's best interests at heart. It's for the good of everyone... right? Amaya certainly agrees.

Asha, a somewhat arrogant attendant, is helping Amaya prepare for the monthly ceremony. Amaya muses about the importance of knowing what your heart wants, and then states she doesn't know where her pen is to write out the names of the ones chosen. Asha offers to get one for her, and searches Magnifico's office for a pen and parchment too (because she's that helpful, of course). However, she stumbles into the Wishing Chamber, where Magnifico is... muttering about something.

Asha listens in, curious. Magnifico is staring off into space, saying something about how "wishes these days are so senseless", when he sees Asha, and questions her presence. Asha states she's trying to find a pen for Amaya, and Magnifico chuckles, whipping one up from a splinter of wood and some ink.

Asha returns, a little frazzled from Magnifico's demeanor, but quickly changes her tune when she sees the kingdom, and sighs longingly at its view. Asha starts to sing, the first song of the movie: "Life in Rosas". It's upbeat, but has an air of prejudice, with Asha noting things like how she climbed to the top and deserves the best, and otherwise acting indifferent to most of the plights in the kingdom in favor of her good mood. Think "Candy Store" from Heathers- it's catchy, fun, but isn't about a well-meaning person in the end.

At the end of the song, she walks by a child who is chasing a ball down the street, and she initially thinks nothing of it. But Amaya walks by, and she instantly changes her tune, helping the kid catch it. The viewer now understands she likes to help when it directly benefits her- in this case, staying in Amaya's good graces.

Amaya questions about her quest to find the pen, and Asha gives it to her, hoping she didn't seem too foolish. Amaya, however, commends her for being distracted by the "good of the kingdom", and happily states that she couldn't have a better confidant. Asha grins, feeling validated by her idol, and Amaya announces the ceremony is to begin soon.

Well... that's where I'll end this first post! It's super long already, and I'll be sure to add the second post and continue the story- we haven't even gotten into the meat of it yet!

The Lionheart Brothers Bookcover (part - 3) from Shri - 29/03/24

Hi Archie!

I'm glad that my bullying (affectionately) worked!

Seeing you getting so stuck in your character's stories makes me want to get back to my comfort characters and their stories - I'm actually trying to make some official character sheets for them, so maybe one day I'll be able to officially show them to people.

Until then here are some of my warm-ups and cool-downs of them instead.

Anyways getting into Part 3!!!

Recap on what I was talking about

The last blog was about how I was completely lost in what to do next as I just couldn't come up with anything with the right vibe.

So I went back to the basics by analysing first what the existing covers were doing and what I liked and disliked about them.

Notes at the time

What I’m struggling with is both depicting their relationship (their adorsion for each other) while also showing the more intense scene later in the book

Both the covers on the left [above] have the brothers physically larger than the dragon, showing how although the dragon is massive, the story is about them and overcoming the dragon.

These are good examples, showing more of the adventurous side.

Though I don’t like how it shows the dragon which is a mystery of the whole book, so kinda a spoiler.

I also had a look at other book covers to find what kind of vibe I wanted the cover to look like

I absolutely loved the composition of this one, with the ice queen overshading the character, again showing the control over the progestins story.

I then came up with these two sketches.

This was the breaking point for me although it's very similar in composition to the first draft I did, its tone is completely different.

Differences

Brothers Poses:

The pose on the first draft was showing fear, running and determination. while the new pose of the brother shows the absolute adoration they have for each other and how the book is driven by their love for each other.

Notice how the older brother is not even looking at the perales ahead he's just looking at his younger brother with so much love, while his younger brother returns the gaze.

(btw I am obviously talking about familial love)

This gives the cover a hint of a vintage look, implying the tone of the story - capturing the innocence of vintage stories I was struggling to capture.

Note how during the colour phase I took out the eye complete getting rid of the dragon. this was because I felt visually that the area was getting too busy, distracting from the brothers. so I took it out.

And other notes

The Cherries and the roses are a narrative node towards the village's feathers in the book. Cerry village and wild Rose village.

Look how the brothers are in front of the border/frame, this was to visually show how they go from one world to another in the story. going into another world with the vibe of a painting or a storybook.

The dove flying onto his arm shows how he's an advocate for peace and will fight for it (pose - he's visually standing against the bad guy in the image) and his natural acceptance of the dove shows it's his nature to fight for peace.

The bag guy seamlessly blends into the landscape filled with shadows - again showing his control over the lands. Notice how the two elements in red (and at the highest pion of the page) are the shell/horn and his helmet feathers - these are his symbols of power

I would like to adopt just one(1) Nahida. Please.

I'm a Nahida haver, but I need her anyway. I would like to just squish her cheeks. Gently.

Frankly, I can't tell whether it'd take a very long time, or a very short time to become a parental figure in her mind. It could, honestly, go either way. Once you've taken on the role of her guardian, though; it's good vibes from here on out!

Reading storybooks before bed, or light novels during one of her lunch breaks, become a necessary activity. It must be done twice a day, minimum. Nahida is especially fond of the fantasy genre.

When you're not reading books, you're running around the city and trying new things. There are times where you have to sneak her out of the Academia, away from her work, so that you can go try Candied Ajilenakh Nuts. You also beg her to make her specialty dish.

You've probably forgotten that Nahida's not a normal kid at least once, and she had to remind you that she has no need to go to school. That won't stop the two of you from exchanging knowledge, though! Even though she already knows what you're trying to explain; Nahida can't help but grin widely, inquiring about whatever you were gushing about.

And, of course, adopting Nahida means also adopting the Wanderer. He's not as fun as Nahida; moping around all day and then having the gall to get pissy that you're 'paying more attention' to Nahida, when he specifically asked to be left alone! You can't stand him sometimes, but you love him regardless.

I'm a sucker for these two little losers. I adore them so much

i think ruby clocked that the prince didn’t grasp that she and her friends *could* be hurt by his game—as upset as she is in general and as rattled as she is by the rules of the game itself, she still very much recognizes that the prince is a young child and tries to engage with him in an age appropriate way, and when he starts freaking out and runs away from the board to wail that it isn’t fair, ruby looks genuinely concerned and sorry for him. she GETS that he’s just a kid and that’s why she tries the “stop! you’re going to hurt them!” tact first. but she’s also seventeen, desperately This Is Fine’ing a nervous breakdown, and scared out of her mind for her friends while experiencing a huge crisis of her ability to lead; thus she 1. isn’t able to de-escalate successfully because in practice she’s just yelling at an already overwhelmed toddler, and 2. gets swept up in her own feelings and actually escalates after the prince gives her an out by declaring that he won. she’s upset, she’s scared, she’s angry, she gets competitive, and now we have a distraught teenager and a distraught toddler duking it out over a board game.

the cat, in contrast, swiftly defuses the situation by soothing both of them; they help the prince articulate and understand the feelings he is having so that he can release them in a better way, and they nudge ruby away from the futile “but he promised!” stubbornness by reminding her gently that things have, er, gone awry and it’s time to cut her losses and go.

which is to say, ruby already has inklings of the right answer—she just hasn’t consciously realized that yet, and the catastrophe in the red castle is… not going to help when her confidence is already shot. but what tripped her up here wasn’t ignorance or inability to read a situation (although her uncertainty as to whether the prince would really hurt her friends didn’t help)—it was getting overwhelmed. losing her head, so to speak. acting like a seventeen year old on a bad day instead of the Mature Noble Hero she’s been forced to be for so long. part of healing from the incredible harm that pedestal has done to her is letting herself be a kid again. letting a grown up (the cat) step in to help her when she’s overwhelmed and lost.

(and narratively this was also a ‘safe’ way for ruby to catastrophically fuck up, bc—wby do a number on those pawns but it is also clear that the pawns, being made of wood, will be fine. these little guys were vibing along with chips and cracks and in at least one case an entire chunk of head missing; the cat implies that the toy soldiers the prince beheads get re-headed as a matter of course; and the prince cracks his face open without getting hurt. the fight is startling bc the pawns carry toy swords (bendy!) and are explicitly aiming to trap rather than kill (cornering weiss + blake and pinning yang) whereas wby fight like they’re fighting for their lives against grimm—but the aftermath is like a child’s idea of a ‘massacre’, broken pawns lying dazed all over the scuffed up board, and none of the ever after characters react in a way that suggests lasting harm. They Just Need Some Wood Glue. or for someone to run down to the ground floor and pick up the ones who fell when the prince flipped the board. the wonderland rules of violence are very much in evidence here, putting the whole altercation firmly in ‘unfortunate, upsetting misunderstanding that might have unforeseen consequences’ territory while also highlighting the real potential for greater harm because not everything in this world is made of wood.)

the function of ruby following alyx’s footsteps with predictably bad results (<- funny how beating the red king at his own game caused huge trouble when alyx did it too, eh?) as a metaphor for how ruby’s effort to live the noble hero ideal shattered her is really, really fun. the correct answer is for ruby to eschew the ‘set path’ and do what she thinks is right instead of doing what the storybook hero is ‘supposed’ to do. she is a kind person, a gentle person who wants to help people, and that is exactly what the ever after needs her to be.

2022 IN REVIEW (VN/INDIE GAMES EDITION)

This year had lots of personal high highs and lower lows, so I’m glad I had games to distract from things 😂Without further ado, here’s my year in review:

DEMOS

Pivot of Heart - I’m unsure of the current status of this one, but I played it earlier this year and fell in love with the MC, the art, and was intrigued by the tarot inspired gameplay!

My Alien Roommate - I will 100% be supporting the Kickstarter the MOMENT it’s live. I was actually upset when I reached the end of the demo knowing good and well it was only a demo so that’s how you know I had a fun time 🤣 also, how can you not wanna romance an alien?? That’s what I thought. 

Our Life Now and Forever - On one hand, if you’re plugged into the VN scene, you’re already aware of this game and there’s no need for me to draw attention to it. On the other hand, to quote Billie Stevenson, “I do what I want.”

Infinite Blue - Oh man did I have fun with this one! To say I’m excited for the full game is an understatement! (review for this one is on the blog too btw)

Error143 - Seeing people simp for Micah Yujin has added 10 years to my life because a dark-skinned love interest getting THIS much attention??? Players be ready to risk it all for him and I love it. Also yeah he has my attention too, I am not immune, TF you thought this was???☠️

Garden of Seif - I’m not much help in selling this game because I just straight up inhaled it?? Everything was on point, from the characters, to the unraveling story, to our LIs and supporting cast, and of course, can’t love a game with loving the MC (at least, that’s how I work)

Gilded Shadows - The brain rot for this game is so real??? So. Damn. Real. It got to a point where after I played so many routes and unlocked multiple endings that I had to stop playing so I could work on my game! And there’s still content on the way?????? Oh to live at the same time as GS 🤗

Sifting Thyme - I’d be lying if I said this wasn’t my favorite high school otome game.  And I thought long and hard about the many other games I’ve played. And I have played a lot of high school romance/dating sim games ☠️ But this one takes the cake!!--and because food is involved, pun intended. If I could have played this in one sitting I totally would have.

An Everyday Love - Check the tags on this blog. I never shut up about this game. Seriously. 

Butterfly Soup 2 - Sequel’s only been out for like 2 months and I’m already begging for a third.  

Blanket Cat & Teacup - The first is a cozy visual novel that gives storybook/ younger me watching Reading Rainbow vibes, and the second is a puzzle, point and click narrative about an introverted frog girl who needs to get tea ingredients for her party, and both these games reminded me of the healing power of gaming. 

Still Shinning - Simply and lovely in its execution. I need to check out this dev’s other titles as well!

Portrait of a Texas Family - If you play no other games on this list, play this one. I don’t have any better words other than “I love it” and “this family and their love and their worry stick with you”.

Dusk & Dawn - SFHJSHFJSEJE THIS WAS SO GOOD LIKE WHAAA??? Black female MC, demi rep, superheroes, 2 dating options, multiple endings/dead ends, ughhh this game had it all. The only thing stopping it from being perfect is a sequel. And no, there’s no announced sequel so we can sulk together...

Wylde Flowers - I suck at farming sims in general, but this game has a special place in my heart. It’s the definition of charming + cozy and it was made to be played in bed so shoutout to the Switch port!!

ValiDate: Struggling Singles in your Area - I want to go in depth about this game when I’ve played all or majority of the routes, but for now just know I also believe this game was made for playing in bed LOL.
