is it a controversial topic to say that making the reader's appearance overly detailed, giving them a title and a overly detailed backstory (mary sue backstory often), focusing more on their pov which reveals their personality heavily that some readers would NOT relate too, not making it poc friendly, saying it's gn but using personal pronouns and characters calling them gender specific nicknames (princess/ baby girl...etc), is it controversial to say you didn't write an x reader fanfic but an x OC and you're tricking us to read it?? lmfao i think people have the right to be mad ESPECIALLY if it's not gn or poc friendly when you claimed it was... like i love writers and i appreciate the works ALL of you are putting yall are awesome for giving us this fanfics but PLEASE BFR

if your (y/n) is someone the reader can't relate to it's not x reader. simple as that. idk why ppl are scared of saying this.

PS 2; i didn't want to address this but, some people pointed out that writing ambiguos x reader is impossible and hard. that's not the case at all, look at the most popular fanfics in a fandom x reader. they ARE ambiguous and general stuff! such as jealousy headcanons, general dating headcanons, prompts, general kinks or the like.... why? because you didn't give the reader too many details or made them mfing black widow or madoka kaname, who'll be relating to that???? you might say "oh i'm writing for myself" or "this is my self-insert don't like it don't read" cool, we all have self-inserts. stop tagging it as x reader however. that's it. tags exist for a reason, and you not using it properly is your problem not the readers who have been misled.

I read what other people opposing this post said and I absolutely get how difficult it is to write for ambiguous readers. I'm deeply sorry for making it seem as though I'm berating writers when I don't share my work here on tumblr. My post was NOT meant to insult creative writing OR to say that putting the slightest bit of detail on your headcanons, fanfics, scenarios etc is a terrible thing because I assure you it's NOT. But please for the love of god tag your work correctly. THAT'S IT. And give warnings and heads ups about what your writing contains. If it has fem!reader only tag it as fem!reader, if there's mention of physical characteristics specific to one race others or group may not relate to PLEASE give a warning. I know the content here on tumblr is free and I like many here are SUPER grateful for it.

I don't appreciate entitled readers and ik how frustrating it is to get backlash from something that you do for free and it brings you immense joy, but please remember your work is also public and by that it WILL be subjected to criticism and feedback however it may be. And of course I'd never support harrassment or rudeness on any party giving or receiving feedbacks.

Remember that tags and warnings exist for a reason and you're free to write WHATEVER as long as you publicize it keeping in mind the target audience you're reaching. Of course people will not be happy if you state your work is something that ultimately isn't. But imo if you give a prior information then no one should harrass or demand of you anything. This post was made to address the lack of honestly with certain content, the non-poc friendly fanfics and MY PERSONAL OPINIONS. You're free to agree and you're free to disagree.

I read the replies and tags and I understand both sides of the argument, but I also needed to clarify what this post is NOT about. Of course any harrassment or rude comments will be ignored. You're free to have your opinions and preferences and free to say them as long as it isn't problematic.

I also removed the x reader because I understand how it would be hypocritical of me but I truly needed to get people's opinions on a wider scale. 1 year and 40 days. That's how long it's been since you'd last seen Ajax. And yet, every night you'd miss the warmth of him and how comforting his embrace felt.

Your son is now 3 years old.

You’ve raised your son all by yourself. Every night you tell him about his father and how wonderful he is. You tell him of how much Ajax loves him, even if Ajax isn’t there to do so himself.

You’ve struggled to pick up the pieces of a broken life in Ajax’s absence. The first few months were spent waiting in agony to see if he returned, if he’d come home.

But as days turned to weeks and weeks turned to months, you started to lose hope. And finally, one night, as a final piece of yourself drifted away, you accepted it. Ajax was gone. It would be difficult to move on, but you had a son who needed you more than ever with a father’s touch missing.

The air in the room is still. Only a light breeze makes its way through the window, and the curtains to sway in the wind. The moonlight glows through the window and paints the room in a dark glow

Your eyes are heavy with sleep, but your mind is awake and buzzing with memories of your husband. So many happy memories. So many moments. The laughter. The joy. The love.

A gentle knock at the door breaks the silence. Your eyes flutter as you come back to the present. As if your thoughts about Ajax summoned someone to the door.

It hurts. Every time someone knocks at the door, you don't know who it is. Your heart jumps to the thought of it being your husband returning, but it never is.

The knocking comes again. Someone is clearly desperate to have your attention.

You sit up in bed and rub your eyes, trying to wake up quickly and answer the door. Was your mind playing tricks on you in your sleep or is someone actually here?

You stand up and hurry to the door. Slowly, you put your hand around the handle and twist it.

Your heart jumps to your throat, and it beats so fast you can hear it against your ears. What if it really is Ajax?

Please be him.

You hear the knocking again. A gentle but persistent tap. Like a knock from… no, no it couldn’t be. Not him. You know Ajax is gone. He had left.

“Just a sec!” You call out as you get out of bed. With a slight shake, you start to walk towards the door. Slowly. Like this moment is everything to you. As if you’re trying to delay the inevitable.

Slowly, you twist the door open. And…

It’s him.

It’s Ajax.

Ajax stands in the doorway, arms crossed, with a stoic and silent expression on his face. He looks the same, just like how you remembered him.

“Darling,” he says softly, “come out. We need to talk.”

His words sound as emotionless as always but his gaze on you speaks volumes. You feel a mix of emotions. Happiness, relief, panic, but most of all… fear.

You can’t feel anything, “Ajax.” You can see your body tremble, but you don’t feel it. Your vision goes blurry, presumably from how you’re tearing up.

He walks over, taking your hand in his.

“Darling, look at me.” His eyes meet yours. His expression is soft, worried, “Why are you crying?”

The question makes you scoff.

“Why am I crying?” Of all the questions he could ask, why does he choose that. You take a breath, your heart beating rapidly in your chest. Then, slowly, you look up at him, meeting his gaze for a moment… before looking away.

“It’s too much, Ajax. It’s been too long.”

“It has been too long, darling,” he says softly. “And I’m sorry…”

He pauses.

“Do you remember why I had to leave?” He asks calmly, a hint of regret in his tone.

His question makes you look back at him. He’s watching you intently, waiting for a reply. Waiting for the answer you’re afraid to give…

"I remember." you mumble. Your gaze never leaves his face, its has been too long.

Ajax swallows hard. He already knows your answer but he wants to hear it.

He wants to know the pain you went through. He wants to feel guilty. He wants to beg. He wants his heart to break all over again. He wants the chance to make it up to you, however he can.

And he's going to make you say it.

“Tell me,” he whispers, his voice breaking a little. He can’t hide the desperation, the pain. “Tell me why I had to leave.”

He sighs when you don’t respond.

“Darling,” he says, “I never wanted to leave you…”

Your heart breaks when you see the remorse in his eyes. The remorse for all the time he’s missed with you and your son. For all the moments he shouldn’t have been away.

“But…”

His words are followed by a silence. One that makes you feel the weight of the world sitting on your shoulders. You want to beg him to stay. You want him to stay even if it means he has to leave again.

“But you know I had to.”

“Ajax,” you whisper, “please. ”

"So do you understand?" He asks. He's not trying to be cruel, but you can hear the fear in his voice. The fear that you'll reject him, kick him out, or something worse.

"Darling, please, just answer me. Do you understand why I had to leave?"

You can see the desperation in his eyes and for the first time, you understand what he's trying to tell you. The fear he's experiencing. The dread. It's like he's reliving that day one year ago when he had to leave you.

"I understand Ajax."

You look at him and, archons, how you’ve missed him.

Ajax smiles at me and lets out a strained laugh, "Darling, I've gotten weaker. I had a feeling that..." He trails off and when you look back at him there are tears in his eyes.

He tries to stifle his tears. He's not usually so open with his emotions but after all you've been through, he doesn't want to hide from you anymore. He looks at you with pure, unfiltered love. And you can't hold back any more.

You move towards him, closing the distance between you two. You hug him tight, burying your head in his chest and letting out a soft sob. Ajax holds you back the same way, his breath shuddering with each exhale. You lean back and just look at each other, both of you filled with joy and relief... and fear.

"I think this might be the last time we'll be able to see eachother." Ajax whispers, "I just- you know what my job comes with. I've gotten weaker, this delusion, it's draining me.."

Tears stream down his face.

"Don't say that," you whisper in response. He's so weak. So much weaker than you remember him. The months of isolation seem to have taken a toll on him.

The thought of losing him again fills your chest, you're practically overflowing with dread.

"Don't do this to me, Ajax," you whisper again. "You're my life. I would be happy to end mine just to be with you forever."

You're half joking of course, but with the way your heart aches for him... you're not so sure how much of it was kidding after all.

Ajax kisses your forehead, looking at you with tears in his eyes. "Darling-" he starts. Before he can finish his sentence, you stop him by placing your finger on his lips.

"No," you say softly, "I don't want to hear what you have to say. I'm not losing you. I lost half of myself when you left. If I lose you again, I'll lose all of myself."

Your voice isn't soft anymore. It's hard and resolute, "I'm keeping you this time, Ajax."

It had come early, and to say you weren’t happy was an understatement. You wanted to die, truly lay down and allow yourself to become one with the earth because anything would be better than this shit. You didn’t remember the last time you felt this horrible during your cycle, usually you could manage but today was just … awful. Everything made you want to cry, or you when something inconvenienced you, you wanted to chuck it against the wall and watch it smash. You were nauseated at the smell of anything Mags brought you to eat, and to top it all of you just felt so fucking miserable.

Finnick had been gone for a few days, off in The Capitol, when your period had started, usually he would be there to provide any sort of comfort you needed but right now you were alone. You couldn’t blame him, Snow had summoned him and many other Victors for a week of galas and to introduce the new Victors. You feigned illness, which in some ways was true, but you were upset he couldn’t stay with you. Had you known it would start, you probably would have gone because at least then you would have your built in space heater.

You wanted to have him near you, as childish as it sounded. He always made you feel better and doted on you. He made you feel better and knew how to take care of you. But mostly you just missed him. His comforting smile, the way he would rub your lower back and just hold you to help you fall asleep. You were miserable without him, and you looked like shit. It wasn’t ideal, but you could make it through the worst alone if you had too. You felt like something that had just crawled out of a sewer drain, and you were sure you looked like it too.

Finnick hated seeing you so ill. He always wanted to make you feel better in whatever way he could. Whether that was holding you while you angrily muttered and cursed at the world for having cramps, or making you a small dinner that he knew wouldn’t make you sick. Well more like got Mags to make something while he presented it to you, he had never been the best cook and when you weren’t well he knew it was hopeless to try and feed you anything he made, it was sweet the way he tried so hard.

Some days he was a pain in your ass, but you didn’t mind that anymore. 

“When he gets home, I swear I’m going to kill him.” You whispered, throwing a pillow over your head, maybe if you suffocate yourself enough, the lack of oxygen flow would stop the pain all together. “Damn fucking President Snow calling his ass away. Maybe I’ll kill him next.” You grumbled under the pillow.

“Kill who next?”

You sat up straight, regretting your decision the moment you cramped up a little more. You felt a small wave of nausea hit you as you covered your mouth. You hadn’t expected him home until far later in the week. 

“What the fuck?” You muttered, squinting your eyes. “You’re home early.” You observed the glitter on him, his demeanor and the way he was dressed.

It wasn’t unusual for him to come back from The Capitol dressed far differently than anything he wore at home. It wasn’t Finnick’s usual style, he preferred a more low key look when he was in District Four, always had, but he did look gorgeous.

“And you look like shit.” He raised an eyebrow, leaning against the door frame. “Are you in pain?”

“I feel like shit, thanks for the observation, Finn.” You rolled your eyes. “Yes, obviously.” You were far grumpier than you wanted to be but you couldn’t help it right now, the light was too bright and you abdomen felt like it was crushing your insides.

“Ah. I see.” Finnick said, exiting the room.

idk i got clocked in a mens restroom and no one said anything cuz i was out of there quick but i did get a couple stares. but then there were several times pre-t that i got stared at by like little girls and their moms and this one girl did come up to me and very kindly was like "scuze me ur in the wrong bathroom!" and her mom apologized to me and told her daughter "dont be rude, that's a young lady" and that was the moment i realized i did not want to be perceived as a young lady at all.

SO MANY TANGENTS SORRY MY ACTUAL POINT WAS! i cant ask my friends if they would think im a girl in a bathroom cuz yall are liberal woke brigade so even if i asked yall to be honest with me and not spare my feelings, you probably very much have the ability to see people as the gender they tell you they are, but then im like who am i supposed to ask then just like cishets on the street like "hey would you clock me if i stepped into your gender's bathroom?"

between 7 (jacob) and 5 (jiung) i biased jacob first !! i got into tbz around feb 2022 (and became a jacob bias in march) and got into p1h in july 2022, so not that big of a time difference honestly!

2. Between 2 and 6, who are you more attached to?

between 2 (hongjoong) and 6 (mingyu) i'm more attached to mingyu (sorry hongjoong LOL) i've been biasing gyu longer and mingyu is just.... so mingyu!!!

3. If you were to spend the day with either 3 or 1, who would you choose and what would you do?

probably mingyu's clumsiness hahaha but i think part of his charm is that he's always trying his best so his clumsiness is so endearing when it happens!! it's always a complete accident and he tries so hard to make up for it (but the other members never let him live LOL)

6. If you were to tell 8 anything you wanted, what would you tell them?

i would tell hangyul to do a bae173 US/world tour, also leave podol, also get more back tattoos, also remind him of his goal of growing his hair out and getting it permed again bc these days he's been getting too many haircuts

between 1 (d1) and 2 (hongjoong) definitely hongjoong i love his fashion style he has such interesting taste and i want it all

between 10 (jeno) and 9 (xiaojun) who are both in nct and even in the same songs... aksjdlfasdjfjsjj LMAO. hmm. ok well between nct dream and wayv i think i do like wayv b-sides more but i like dream title tracks more :') in terms of their individual styles i'm a sucker for xiaojuns beautiful voice sorry jeno but that man rlly can sing! even tho i do love jeno's raps especially in zoo
