Jason Grace

-He was stressed, trying to keep things running in both camps and get the altars set up for all minor gods in both camps wasn’t easy. -”Hey Jason could you-” before you could even finish getting the words out Jason snaps. “Can’t you ask someone else for once!” he yells in frustration but seeing you take a step back in surprise with a look of fear across your face makes him regret every word.

-He felt the guilt hit him like a ton of bricks. ((hehehe)) “Look I’m sorry I…” Before he could finish you start to hyperventilate dropping to the ground. Jason ran to your side in a second.

-”I’m not mad, I’m not. I promise, I’m sorry just… Follow my breathing, ok?” He says gently and takes some deep breaths, helping guide you out of the panic attack. “In… And out…” he says with each breath to make sure you were following along.

-He holds you the entire time gently rubbing your back until you calm down, but the guilt of causing you a panic attack would never leave him…

Leo Valdez

-Leo was a busy man, between his own projects, working on the argo ll, and being the counselor of the Hephaestus cabin he was always busy and always stressed.

-He had been interrupted three times already while he was trying to work on his own personal project, trying to take a break and focus on making something for himself for once. He was just about to start when the door opens *again*...

-”What!?” he snaps in frustration going wide eyed in surprise when he hears a shatter. He could feel his heart sink a bit as you looked at him with worry trying to pick up the shards of a broken plate. “I… I’m sorry.. I… I just wanted to bring you some food…” You choke out, voice quivering slightly.

-Leo quickly goes over, taking your hand to stop you from grabbing the shard. “Careful, don’t touch the shards.” he says anxiously before he lets out a quiet sigh as he felt the guilt eating away at him already. “I’m sorry… I didn’t mean to scare you.” his voice was just above a whisper as he could feel your hands were shaking. 

-You just hug him tightly, not being able to get any words out as he hugs you tightly in return. He rubs gentle soothing circles onto your back to try and help calm you but he felt his own lip quiver slightly as the guilt was still creeping inside of his mind even after apologizing. 

Percy Jackson

-Percy was trying to get some time alone in his cabin to calm down and take a breather. He was summoned for **ANOTHER** quest. He was getting sick and tired of quests and fighting some monster who had beef with the gods.

-A knock on the door snaps him from his attempt to calm down, making him grind his teeth in frustration. If Lester was standing outside his door again he was going to kill him himself. He storms over and slams open the door. Fully expecting some god here to make his life harder.

-To his surprise there you were jumping in shock since he had slammed the door open. The two of you stare at each other and Percy could see just how tense and nervous you were. He tries to speak but no words come out so you speak up first.

-”I… I just wanted… To check on you.” you admit softly with a sheepish laugh that turns into a little gasp as you start to hyperventilate. You had unfortunate memories with slamming doors so they often caused a panic attack.

-Panic hits Percy too as he quickly leads you inside, sitting you down on the bed. “I… I didn’t mean too… I thought you might be…” he takes a shaky breath and holds you close knowing there was nothing he could really say to excuse his actions right now.

-”I’m sorry.” he admits genuinely. He holds you close trying to help soothe you, resting his head over yours to help ensure you knew he was right there with you.

jiwoong told you that he would be there in around 30 minutes but that thirty minutes turned up to be almost two hours of you waiting there

you were a bit hurt by your boyfriend's actions and decided to head home as it was reaching the two hour mark

the park was incredibly silent too, it seemed that you were the only person there

but just as you turned to begin walking home, a loud shout of your name came from behind you

"(NAME)!" you heard jiwoong call, he was running with a cap on as well as a black mask, clearly to hide his identity

"jiwoong??" your brows furrowed. when he finally came towards you, he was out of breath

"i-i'm so sorry! i was suddenly called in for practice and i couldn't just leave-"

you immediately shut him up with a hug, he was puzzled but softened into your embrace

"it's ok jiwoong. i understand that practice can hold you up. just please message me beforehand."

he was so thankful that you were understanding and held your hand

"thank you love. now what do you want to do?"

"i just want to relax with you, at home."

"okay then, lead the way my love."

zhang hao didn't technically miss your date, he actually showed up

but he did end up missing it because he ran into an old friend halfway through. the friend was clearly not happy to see you two with your hands interlinked together and decided to make up an excuse that they had no ride home as it was raining

zhang hao being the kind soul that he is didn't hesitate to step up and help, he told you he would be back in a few minutes

well that few minutes didn't happen as you had sat there in silence following his leave that was for nearly any hour. it was very awkward to say the least with everyone sending remorseful looks towards you

you sighed and got up to leave, you know that his friend did that purely to separate you two which pissed you off even more

as you were at the bus stop, you saw zhang hao's figure running towards you

"wait! baobei!" he shouted. you were still bothered by what happened but still gave your boyfriend a smile when he returned

"what are you doing here?" he asked, you gave him a slight smile, "i'm heading home."

"but my car is there." you sighed

"hao, i understand that you wanted to take them home but why did it take so long? i was sitting there by myself for an hour."

he noticed your disappointment and rubbed your shoulder, "i'm sorry. they just began talking with to catch up and i got ahead of time. please forgive me love. i promise i will make it up to you."

you put up your pinky finger to him, "promise?" he connected his pinky with yours, "promise." his warm smile reassured you

he then gently tugged your arm, "c'mon, let's go to my car. it's much better than the bus."

"let's go!" you held his hand and began walking to the parking lot

sung hanbin

for your 6 year anniversary, you two had planned a romantic date together. you were so happy to be with hanbin as he always made you feel special

but your excitement slowly faded away as hanbin had no sign of showing up, causing you sit there alone for nearly an hour

you had called and texted him but to no avail. at this point you were worried. maybe it was traffic? well yeah this was downtown so there must've been...or maybe something abruptly came up?

just then in the midst of your thoughts, there came hanbin an hour later with roses and something else small in his other hand

"happy anniversary love." he handed you the flowers and sat down with you. everyone in the restaurant was giving you smiles and happy looks to hanbin's appearance

"where have you been?" he smirked, "i've been planning something. actually, i've been planning it since we met that faithful day in class."

he got up from his seat and opened the small box that was in his hand to reveal a shiny ring, you gasped and then realized what he was doing

hanbin then got on one knee, causing everyone in the restaurant to share the same surprised expression

"(name), i love you and i want to spend the rest of my life with you, till death do us apart. you are my entire world and i can't imagine spending my future life without you as my partner. will you marry me?"

you were already tearing up and quickly nodded, "yes, yes, yes! a billion times yes! i will marry you hanbin!"

he then got up to spin you in his arms as everyone in the room clapped and congratulated you, hanbin slyly slid the ring down your finger as it shined

"it fit's perfectly." he sighed in relief, "oh thank god, i was worried it wouldn't because i didn't know your ring size."

you embraced him again, "thank you hanbin for choosing me."

"you know i'll always choose you love."

funny enough, matthew wasn't even supposed to miss your date, you two had it all planned out with what time you would go as well as getting your tickets early

but he got sick and had let you know beforehand, but you were incredibly sad as you were going to watch the movie that you both wanted to see together alone

though matthew told you to enjoy it, you couldn't help but feel a teensy bit guilty as matthew was telling you how much he wanted to see the movie

you wished he could've been beside you holding your hand or resting his head on your shoulder, also vice versa

you could barely focus on the film itself as you worried for your boyfriend's health

the credits finally rolled and you immediately made your way to matthew's place

as you opened the door, you heard the sounds of coughing and sneezing coming from his room. you rushed to his cabinet to get some medicine and walked into his room

"matt!" you said, he seemed relieved seeing you but you noticed how he was curled up into his blanket and the tissue box placed on his side table

"(name)! how was the movie?" you pulled him into a hug, not caring if you would get sick, "i missed you. it didn't feel the same without you."

he grinned, "so does that means i have an effect on you?"

you playfully rolled your eyes and you sat next to matthew in the cozy blanket, "yeah, yeah. a huge effect."

"but you didn't answer my question." he said, you shrugged, "it was good but i spaced out for most of the film. i just needed you with me."

he put your head gently on his shoulder, rubbing it. "you have me now for as long as you want."

you and taerae had been planning a romantic date night ever since he got the promotion at the company he was working for

it was a huge deal and you wanted to congratulate him in some way and give him something to relax with

but this promotion also meant that taerae would get more work that made him stay overtime at the building

you were worried that he would have to stay late on your date night, but taerae continuously reassured you that everything would work out fine

but of course the world isn't that perfect. your worries became reality as you were left alone at the chosen restaurant

you already knew something like this would occur and weren't even shocked when it happened

and then you got the text with taerae apologizing and stating that he would be coming home late. without thinking twice, you left the restaurant without ordering anything

you were up that night watching a tv show in your pj's when the door opened to your shared place, there you saw taerae in his suit. "your still up?" you hummed in response

he then came towards you and suddenly wrapped his arms around you, "i'm sorry. i know how much you wanted to go on that date."

you sighed, "this isn't about me taerae. i wanted you to have a night to relax so you could treat yourself. i'm happy you got your promotion but i wish you could have more time for yourself."

he pressed his lips on your forehead, "i know and i'll try my best to get my work done quicker so i don't worry you. i just want us to have a good life together. i'll do better."

you nuzzled your face in his chest as you hugged him, "thank you taerae. i know how hard you work."

you were waiting for ricky at the downtown aquarium that was well known in your city. you didn't realize how much you were checking the time on your phone waiting for him

"where is he?" you mumbled to yourself. standing by the door made it even more awkward as everyone was staring at you while walking into the front doors

you sighed as it was approaching the one hour mark and there was no sign of ricky arriving. did you do something? what would cause him to not come when he always came to your dates?

you decided to give up on waiting for him and took the train home in disappointment. not even a call or message, nothing, you were bitter to how your night went and just curled up in bed

a few minutes later, you heard frantic knocking at your door. it didn't take a genius to know who it was. when you opened it, you saw ricky holding a bouquet of roses as he handed it to you

"(name), i'm so sorry. it's a long story but i can explain."

you sighed, not knowing how to react to the situation you were faced with, "i don't know ricky. i just feel really let down."

"please, just let me in and we can talk. trust me, i would never leave you hanging on purpose."

you had no choice but to let him in, as you two were sitting on your couch, he handed you the bouquet

"i can assure you that i purposely didn't miss the date. the road i was usually go on got closed and i had to go the other route which took me longer than the regular route i take. by the time i got there, you were already gone."

everything finally made sense and now you felt kinda bad for feeling bitter before

"trust me (name). i love you so much. i'll do anything to make it up-" you quickly shut him up with a kiss on the lips. ricky paused for a second before naturally resting his hand on your side as he returned the favour

"it's okay ricky. just call me next time this happens so i'm not worried."

"next time, i promise i will."

kim gyuvin

"gyuvin where are you??" you asked, looking around the mall for any sight of him

"uh...it's a... long story." he said, pausing in between his words. you were confused to say the least as gyuvin promised to meet up with you at the nearby mall to grab some food and go shopping

"i have lots of time." you replied, just then you heard some people shouting in the background of his call

"gyu, who is that?" you asked, you waited for him to compose an answer as the call went silent for a while

"i'll call you back! i'm sorry something came up! i love you!"

the call then ended, causing you to be left with mixed feelings, what was even going on in that call? it was so random and unlike how gyuvin usually acts

a few hours passed and you were sitting at your dining table at home, devouring on some pasta you had just finished making when you got a facetime call from non other than kim gyuvin himself

you were reluctant to answer but did nonetheless. the first thing you saw was gyuvin running outside, seemingly out of breath. "gyuvin? what are you doing?"

he gave you a slight smile, "i want to talk to so i'm running to your house right now. i'm pretty sure i could win a marathon right now."

you faintly chuckled, "okay...but why?"

just then it cut and a few minutes later you were met with him at your door

"care to explain to me why i was left at the mall alone?" you questioned, he plopped down on your bed, making himself at home

"blame hanbin hyung, not me!" he put his hands up, "i had to stay at practice since i wasn't able to master the dance! i tried to run away but hanbin forced me to stay!"

it finally made sense, "oh...well i guess that explains it."

"yeah so stop being mad at me!" he exclaimed, "i won't! also you should be at the dorms right now."

he seemed unaffected and shrugged, "they can try and catch me but i just want to be with your right now."

park gunwook

there was a small place to grab food near where you and gunwook both lived and he kept begging you to go with him one day

you agreed and though you came at the right time, gunwook had seemed the forget about the date, leaving you by yourself

the owner of the shop, an older woman, noticed you and frowned, "what are you doing here alone?"

"oh well, i was supposed to meet with someone but they haven't showed up."

the owner was kind enough to offer you some free food due to your situation but it didn't get rid of the feeling you had inside of you

gunwook was someone who'd always remember important events or days so this caught you off guard

you ended your visit earlier than expected and began walking home when you felt someone grab your wrist

it was park gunwook, he had a guilty expression on his face, clearly feeling bad for what happened

"i know there's no excuses for missing our date but i promise you it wasn't intentional." he began, "i'm really sorry and if you want we can still go somewhere else to make up for it."

you were still wondering what had caused him to not show up in the first place

so you asked, "gunwook i know you have never missed our dates, what happened today?"

he sighed, "we set the fire alarm off in our dorm while cooking, i should've informed you beforehand."

your eyes widened, "WHAT? is everyone okay?!" he nodded, "yeah but it was mainly my fault."

you hit his chest, "you cooked didn't you?"

he shyly looked down, "i wanted to impress the members but i guess that didn't work out."

you poked his cheek, "you always impress me gunwook. you don't need to prove anything."

he grabbed your hand and began taking you somewhere, "let's go, i have to make up for what i did."

well technically an indoor date, yujin had promised you that he'd come over to your house since you were home alone and wanted to watch the drama that you were both binge watching on your projector

so as you prepped the food and drinks, the minutes passed by and yujin hadn't shown up

this was concerning but your brushed it off as something came up. but then another hour passed and he still wasn't here

now it was becoming worrying and you called yujin, only for it to go to voicemail right away

deep down you felt upset that you prepared all of this only for your boyfriend to never show up, and as the night got darker, you began putting the food away and wrapping up for bedtime

your parents had also returned home from their day out so you weren't even home alone anymore

you didn't get an answer to any of this until yujin called you himself

"(name), please don't be mad. i really couldn't leave."

"what do you mean yujin? i prepared everything for us and yet you didn't show up." your tone was obviously very unpleased

"i know, and i'm sorry. i ended up running into a friend while heading to your house and we hung out, i didn't realize how quickly time went by and completely forgot about our date."

though his explanation did tell you why he didn't show up, you were still conflicted with if you should forgive him or not

"then...it's okay. if you want to hang out with your other friends too then that's fine with me."

"no, i want to be with you more than anyone. let's hang out tomorrow, my place. we can watch our drama together then to make up for today." he seemed very firm on wanting to be with you which caused you to grin

"okay, i'll see you tomorrow then. you better show up!" you exclaimed. he chuckled on the other end

"if i don't then you won't ever have to see me again." he joked, reminding you of how much he loved you

he was a bully. yeah he was a kid. yeah he was messing with him. "aww, pretty? you’re so romantic.” you raised an eyebrow, crossing your arms playfully.

I don't think what he did is right. The way he handled that situation is just wrong, in my opinion. And so many ppl excuse that bc he's 1) hot (which is the case in so many other fandoms, with ppl bashing female characters while uplifting male characters for th same actions) and 2) bc of his trauma. But, heads up, trauma is and never will be an excuse. Trauma is an EXPLANATION. There is a very big difference. He went through something traumatizing and that is awful, but he didn't try to understand miles. Like i said, miles is 15. And i get that miguel was just trying to protect the universes, I understand that. But when he was calling Miles a mistake, that he never should have been bitten by that spider, acting as if it was MILES'S fault?? Not the best way to handle that, which, again, trauma. Not an excuse, but an explenation for his actions. I can't find myself to rlly like him just now. Maybe in the next movie. I can't just like a character bc they r hot. And I know this will make some ppl mad, but AT LEAST try to look at this from my point of view, and at least try to understand why i don't like Miguel. If y'all like him, that's fine. But my boy miles deserved better.

Hobie might be the coolest, and kindest and best character. I don't think he has done a bad thing in that whole movie. He helped miles, he helped gwen and by helping gwen he helped miles AGAIN. I love his vibe, too. His relationship with miles is perfect, like brothers. And his friendship with gwen is adorable, they r similar with similar intrests if you think abt it and i do hope we get to see him again in the next movie, maybe get a little more on him and his backstory, maybe his canon event(?). it was small things you noticed. the lingering scent of perfume on his clothes as you threw them into the washer. the late nights when he would return to the apartment at 2am saying that he got caught up playing video games with nico. the way his teammates always looked like they wanted to tell you something.

jack knew he was in the wrong. it was slowly beginning to eat him up and he was being less and less careless with his actions. his teammates didn’t have confirmation that he was cheating but they were sure of it, they just didn’t know how to break it to you.

you noticed the receipt for a bouquet of flowers on the floor of your shared bedroom. you pondered who jack was buying flowers for. he never bought you flowers. then you found the box of condoms in his nightstand drawer when you were putting his watch into his drawer. it was almost empty but you swore that you and him hadn’t slept together in a month and the box was full the last time you saw it.

jack no longer held you at night. he no longer kissed you when he returned home from practice or games. he no longer said “i love you”.

it was miles that got confirmation jack was cheating. miles had caught jack kissing her in the bathroom of the bar. jack had continued the excuse that you didn’t want to come out tonight, that’s why you were absent. but miles was catching them making out and he assumed that you didn’t even know the team was out at the bar for the night.

jack’s teammates loved you. which is why it wasn’t surprising when miles and nico appeared at your doorstep. “i thought jack would be with the two of you,” you said as you let them into the apartment. it had been two days since miles caught jack cheating.

“(y/n) we have to tell you something,” nico said softly, having you sit on the couch with the two of them. “i caught jack cheating on you,” miles swallowed. it was the confirmation that broke you. you tried to keep it together, trying to convince yourself that miles and nico were lying.

but deep down you knew they were telling the truth. you just couldn’t accept it. your lip wobbling as you shook your head in disbelief until a sob finally broke through. nico and miles apologized for jack’s behavior, hugging you.

hours later, it was eerily quiet when jack got home. he quickly hid the used makeup wipes in the kitchen trashcan, he had to get the lipstick off his neck while in the car before coming up to you. jack was surprised to see you awake in the bedroom. it was late. he quickly noticed the duffle bag sitting at your feet.

I’ll be honest anon, I kept putting off answering this because I wanted to actually watch the video you mentioned so I could properly give you thoughts on it but I truly do not have the time or energy to watch it. I’m assuming the whole video is about making Kyle’s actions out to be more terrible while downplaying Cartman’s so as to put them on ‘even ground’ and I’m simply not here for that kind of content. If I’m wrong, please let me know!

To answer the question the title poses: no, they are not the same person. At all.

Kyle has a conscience, which sets him apart from Cartman for obvious reasons. He feels bad when he does something wrong. He worries about how his actions affect other people. He even worries about and feels bad for Cartman, despite being the one person who really should get a free pass to not give a shit about him. He’s a dick in the same way a lot of kids are dicks, and that really isn’t comparable to Cartman’s behavior and total lack of remorse.

I imagine people who follow the ‘same person’ line of thinking would say things like “well Kyle laughed at Cartman getting HIV so Cartman was just teaching him a lesson, just like how Kyle tried teaching Cartman a lesson by making him ginger” or “Kyle blew up Toronto so he’s probably killed more people than Cartman ever did with Cthulhu.”

To those points I would say - Cartman’s reaction to Kyle laughing was disproportionate and to suggest otherwise or downplay the seriousness of intentionally giving someone HIV as ‘payback’ is ridiculous. Kyle was laughing at the irony of the person who constantly jokes about him getting AIDS being the one to end up getting it, and he clearly knew he was wrong to laugh about it which was why he excused himself so he wouldn’t do it in front of Cartman. It was a gut reaction that he knew was socially unacceptable. Cartman was completely out of line in his response by doing something which, as far as he knew at the time, would cause permanent damage to Kyle. The difference between that and the ginger thing is twofold: Kyle wasn’t really reacting to Cartman’s bigotry on behalf of himself, he was trying to come to the defense of actual Ginger kids who were now being bullied by other kids because of what Cartman was saying. He wanted to show Cartman what it was like to be on the other side of things for once. Kyle wasn’t motivated by selfishness or revenge. The other difference is that dying Cartman’s hair etc wasn’t permanent. He did not forever alter Cartman’s body or intentionally make him sick, he and the other kids made surface level, temporary changes. This is not equivalent to giving someone HIV - obviously.

The other thing… well, I’ll preface this by saying I don’t think that the Canada thing was handled well by the show. It did not really deal with the aftermath and how it weighed on Kyle’s conscience other than the two second scene where Ike tells him to stop being a victim. But I also understand that it’s difficult to like, reconcile that kind of devastation for a character who is so overcome by guilt that he wants to die over toilet papering someone’s house. Here’s the thing though, Kyle isn’t directly responsible for what happened. He feels responsible and it makes sense why he does, because it was his own emotional outburst that ultimately ‘swayed’ Garrison, but I truly don’t think he meant for that to happen. He was speaking from a place of hurt and trauma, after not feeling heard by his friends and supposedly safe adults, and finally, the wrong person listened to him. Garrison already had a vendetta against Canadians - he was itching to do something drastic. Ultimately it’s HIS fault. Compare this to Cartman using Cthulhu to knowingly and intentionally destroy San Francisco, who knows how many synagogues, etc… it’s not the same. Cartman knows what he’s doing, and he doesn’t care about how it impacts others. Kyle cares about the natural consequences of his actions, even the indirect ones.

I’m not sure if those points were even in the video but those are what came to my head. Ultimately, Kyle’s conscience will never allow him to be ‘the same person’ as Cartman. Suggesting that they’re on the same level is, I think, fundamentally misunderstanding both the characters and their relationship with each other.

As for Heidi, I’ve never heard anyone say it’s Kyle’s fault Cartman became abusive, but I’m not surprised it’s been said. Some people will just say anything to villainize Kyle and make Cartman more sympathetic. It sounds like something Cartman himself would say, or any other abuser - “oh, I only hurt you because of x y and z”. It’s removing accountability from Cartman, which is… insane to me. Maybe Kyle’s threat put pressure on Cartman, but it didn’t CAUSE him to become abusive. He was always going to become abusive. It’s just who he is. That’s like saying Butters caused Cartman to become abusive by laughing at Heidi’s jokes. Or saying it’s Heidi’s fault for expecting Cartman to put effort into their relationship and talk to her more. It’s gross. Cartman is responsible for his OWN jealousy and paranoia and whatever else contributed to the way his relationship with Heidi played out. Saying otherwise goes against one of the messages of the whole season - Cartman deflecting and placing blame on everyone else and victimizing himself was an abuse tactic in itself. Heidi saw herself going down that same road and chose to break the cycle and take responsibility for herself. People need to hold Cartman responsible for his own decisions, words, and actions.

When it comes to Kyle’s relationship to Heidi, I don’t even think he liked her let alone loved her. I think he helped her because he felt bad for her, could see that Cartman was abusing her, and knew how it felt to be on the receiving end of Cartman’s abuse. He didn’t even think he liked her at all until the girls told him he did, and it was easier for him to go along with that than to grapple with the complicated dynamic he has with Cartman. I do not think Kyle’s intention to help Heidi was selfish at all. It wasn’t about taking away Cartman’s girlfriend and making her like him instead. It was about helping someone he could tell was suffering.

Sorry this took so long to respond to! I’d be interested to know what points that video made but I’ll probably never watch it.

hi! no i totally get what you mean! it's good to hold people accountable for their actions and i understand that taylor's association with him is stirring things up for people, especially cause her image is so comparatively clean and tame. matty has definitely done some questionable if not outright fucked up things and i'm not saying he hasn't. and i don't want to defend him and say he's an angel and uwu baby girl because he's not, but let me try and explain my insight as best i can.

i've been a fan of the 1975 for six or seven years now, and their image is not about being clean. i remember being 15 and listening to their songs about drugs and sex and suicide and going oop this is a bit problematic. but their image is also not mindless -- especially in recent years (most explicitly in their last three albums) the 1975 has been about social commentary. sometimes this is sad "I'm sorry if you're living and you're 17" and sometimes it's a more goofy-toned "QAnon created a legitimate scene but it was just some bloke in the Philippines" (both from the 1975 (2022)). in either case, their lyrics are full of irony and provocative lines for the sake of commentary. love it if we made it starts as follows:

and it's not a song in favor of any of that. instead, it's pointing out the weird polarized state of things and knowing that that first line will get you to listen. that's what it's all about i think, a plea for attention. matty keeps opening his mouth on stage and going "not to be racist but-" *band starts playing* because he's doing some fucked up ironic bit and he knows that a video of that will go viral. it's promo yes, but it's also the continued curation of this ironic polarized image. his songwriting reveals that he doesn't mean any of that, he's just doing a shoddy job of making that clear to people who aren't in on the 1975 cult.

I don't think it's stupid that Kuroo is your comfort character. I know it can be hard to take your problems to people, so I'm glad you found an outlet that allows you to feel some form of comfort, even if it is reading fanfic like this with Kuroo. I have my own comfort characters that I like to read about <3 Ik it helps a lot when you have no other place to go for comfort. You definitely aren't bothering me with this type of request, I was more than happy to be able to write it for you. “What’s this?” you hear Kuroo ask from across your room as you sit on your bed, reading something on your phone mindlessly.

Kuroo had stopped by to spend some time with you for a few hours and was snooping around your room, unable to just sit still and read with you.

“What’s what?” you ask, directing your eyes to him to see him holding a bottle of pills.

Your empty bottle of pills.

Scenes of the previous night played through your head like a movie; the tears, the aggravation of not knowing what to do with your emotions, drinking all those pills, trying to take your own life. You scramble to your feet, your phone now abandoned on your bed and you snatch the bottle from his hands, throwing it back in the trash where it should have been.

He arches his brow in question, suspicious of your sudden actions.

“Nothing, just some pills that I ran out of,” you stumble over your words, feeling your palms begin to sweat from nerves.

What if he finds out?

Your thoughts were racing with “what if’s” and a multitude of excuses you could possibly use to get you out of this unthinkably awkward situation.

“I didn’t know you took pills. Why are you so nervous?”

“Well, I do. And I’m not,” you lie, wanting to slap yourself in the face for not being able to lie properly.

“Y/N…” he starts but you stop him before he can say anything more.

“Please Kuroo, just drop it,” your voice wavers as you try to hold your tears back, not wanting to look even weaker in front of him.

He looks from you to the garbage where the empty bottle of pills now laid, seeming to have put the pieces together himself.

“Why?” is all he asks, his own voice wavering slightly, crushing your heart.

He knows. He knows what you did.

You choke a sob down as you look up into his own watery eyes. The last thing you wanted to do was ever hurt him, and that’s exactly what you just did.

“I’m sorry,” you choke out, the tears beginning to fall on their own despite your attempts at holding them back, “I just- I didn’t know what else to do. I couldn’t stop the negative thoughts from leaving my head. I thought it was the only way to finally feel at peace with myself–to silence all the noise in my head…”

“No no,” he rushes to your side, seeing your tears falling down your face, “You don’t need to feel guilty or sorry for my sake Y/N. Really. I’m just glad you’re here in front of me now, alive and breathing.”

He finally brings you into his embrace, hiding his face in the crook of your neck as you feel drops of water drip onto your skin. He was crying, but didn’t want you to see him.

“You drank however many pills were in that bottle and you’re still here. I don’t know who was out there looking out for you, but I can’t thank them enough for not taking you away. I don’t know what I’d do if I wasn’t able to see you today, or ever again Y/N.”

He squeezes you tighter in his arms, almost afraid that if he let you go, you’d disappear from his life forever. You squeeze him tightly as well, relieved that he wasn’t disgusted by your actions and was still around, showing you how much he cared for you; how much he cherished the role you played in his life. For the first time since attempting to take your life, you felt relieved that it didn't work out the way you had planned; you were relieved that you in fact did wake up that morning so you could see Kuroo again. Grateful that you could have a second chance at life.

“I’m sorry,” you say again.

It’s all you could say at the moment, still clinging onto him as he also refused to let you go.

“I said you don’t need to apologize Y/N. I can’t even begin to imagine what must have been going through your mind that night that you felt like you had no other choice but to take your own life. I’m sorry I wasn’t there with you when you needed someone the most.”

“It’s not your fault, Kuroo. It was my own problem that I unfortunately didn’t know how to deal with on my own.”

“Well, it’s our problem now,” he reassures you, finally stepping back and grabbing your hands in his own, “I promise I’ll help you through whatever complicated, overwhelming feelings you’re going through. I’ll do anything to ensure I get to see you everyday.”

“Thank you.”

And you really were thankful. Standing in your room, Kuroo held your hands in front of him, almost needing to touch you as reassurance that you were in fact actually there with him.

“Thank you,” you say again, overwhelmed that he was willing to help you through the feelings that you had been going through for so long, unwilling to share with anyone else, “For sticking with me even after hearing what I did. Thank you for not leaving me and judging me.”

“Of course. I’d never judge you or leave you, Y/N. Next time you feel like that, I don't care what time of the day it is, call me and I’ll come right over. You don’t have to deal with this on your own anymore. We will find a solution so that one day you don’t have to feel this way anymore.”

He pats your head and gives you a soft smile, “You’re gonna be okay.”

“Mmm, I hope so,” you give him your best smile in return, feeling a little lighter now that he knew what had gone down a few nights ago.

You knew one day in the future, you’d be able to go through a whole day feeling good instead of fighting through difficulties every waking moment of your life. So long a Kuroo was by your side helping you, you knew you would be okay.
