You’re headed for heaven, the sweet old hereafter, and I’ve got one foot in the door. Hollis Everdeen thought that her life had ended with the 73rd Hunger Games.  Her heart stopped when Prim’s name was called, and broke when Katniss volunteered to take her place.  But somehow, against all odds, Katniss came home, and Hollis let herself breathe again.  At least, until the next reaping, for the 74th Games.  Haymitch had warned them that Snow would want to see Katniss punished for her trick with the berries, but still, Hollis had never expected to hear her own name called out. But before I can fly up, I’ve loose ends to tie up, right here in the old therebefore.

WIP introduction - Holly & Brimstone

Finally introducing my novel-in-progress! I don't have many writer friends so I'd love to be able to share it here and get feedback if anyone's interested :3

Synopsis:

Raisa has always known what she wants, and that is power. As a practitioner of outlawed witchcraft in a country whose people have been marred by stark class divisions, she desires the power to alter the world around her - and will stop at nothing to get it. But ambition has a price and one person's judgement is rarely the entire truth, as she will discover when she provokes a god's vengeance and finds herself in the midst of a plot that threatens to topple the entire nation of Vasila. Raisa's fate and that of all Vasila's people are now one and the same, ordained for doom, and she must trust in both a misfit group of allies and her own gifts in order to change it.

A bit of a rant:

I avoided watching Artemis Fowl after seeing the trailer cause it looked silly which really wasn’t the vibe of the books.

I’m cooking and thought why not…..my original decision was correct.

Talk about in name only. They changed the whole story. And worst of all they changed the main character(s) so much they may as well have just given everything other names and made something new.

Where’s my insufferable evil genius?

Rant done but I needed to shout into the wind to get it out (only 30 minutes in and so many feelings)

(This probably only matters to me right now but still!)
