sometimes i scroll through my dash and play a game where i decide which innocuous post has the most batshit insane notes and it's a bad game and it's not fun but i do keep playing it

all the recent comments on older videos of the try guys now about ned feel awful but I read one that sticks with me a lot in particular was one where the guys meet wes, his baby, for the first time and it read pretty much like 'was it worth it ned? was it really worth it?' and I'm just like...yeah. that makes it all really sink in I guess

Favorite thing I wrote today, Establishing A Routine Edition
today's prompt: a funny dream you had
Cindy never remembered her dreams. Except one. It wasn’t recurring, it only happened once. And then she never remembered another dream after it.
A winding country road, like in a movie. Cindy had never left her city neighborhood, so it had to be from something she’d read or seen. Long, serpentine white slash across a flat expanse of grey-green vegetation. Traveling along it, conveyed in some way that wasn’t vehicular. Phantom locomotion she could never figure out but came as easily as breathing.
On the horizon, a boxlike shape took form as she cruised closer and closer. The vegetation grew more distinct, taller. Then the road ended and Cindy landed in the tallest portion of the waving grasses, facing a white clapboard house. Breeze lifting a lock of her hair, her legs splayed to one side, immobile somehow after the trip along the road.
With strong arms, she pulled herself along toward the house, never quite reaching it. And all along, the press of someone’s eyes on her back.
Funny things, dreams.

the fact that i'm no longer the same age as the protagonists of novels and films i once connected to is so heartbreaking. there was a time when I looked forward to turning their age. i did. and i also outgrew them. i continue to age, but they don't; never will. the immortality of fiction is beautiful, but cruel.
