Okay, but you know what type of character always gets to me? The ones of unshakable faith. It's not based on any miracles or concrete experiences. It's just that they know something to be true, even if others can't see it. It's the kind of faith that makes other characters tell them that they're naive or brainwashed or in denial but they're not. They've seen horrors beyond comprehension, things that would dissolve anyone else's beliefs, that would cause even those who had witnessed miracles of the highest order to question and waver, but it doesn't touch their convictions. Because something doesn't have to make sense for it to be true. Because they don't have to justify their convictions to anyone else. Because they know. The kind of faith that can divert the course of rivers and make the sun rise at midnight. Unshakable faith.
