4. The Price of Glory, a Tale of Bakar Muru
The taste of bile mixed with ale that rose in Bakar’s throat would ensure that last night’s revels would be the end of his drinking for many a moon… at least if he lived to see another eve. His gloved fingers pressed hard against the gaping slashes that decorated his side in macabre stripes, a futile effort to staunch the flow of blood that was making his head swim. It had only taken moments for Bakar to realize he had been nothing but a fool to select an Annis hag as his first bill. How good it had felt to gloat before the other boys that he had claimed the most dangerous mark. He wondered grimly if the other boys he had beaten to the hunt board were likewise bleeding out in whatever miserable corner of the region they had set off to in search of glory.
The bravado seemed so idiotic now, as he cowered in a small alcove of his adversary’s lair trying to come up with a plan before she found him and finished the job. A feast to celebrate the hunters to be, the six of them had gotten drunk on ale and pride. They had made light of the task they would set out for at dawn, and how they would relish in the kill of their first hag. The older hunters must have known how gruesome it would be, yet they had said nothing. They had raised their steins and laughed with the rest of them. Bakar wondered if they were simply to jaded to care anymore… or perhaps they found some sort of sick humor in the act of sending foolhardy boys to die in some twisted trial of survival of the fittest. He wondered if they’d placed bets on how many of them would return.
The wind had left his sails as soon as he’d seen the first signs of the Annis hag’s work. Bones of infants were strewn like cobbles. Corpses of those who had been flayed or crucified had been left like grim way markers. His enemy was one that delighted in the slow slaughter of the young and innocent. He had tried to let his heart burn with rage, but only a rising fear had filled it. It had escalated to full terror when he’d beheld the size of his foe. She had towered above him, brandishing iron claws the length of his forearm, and an expression of pure wickedness. Baba Nostra had laughed in a way that chilled him to his core as she gazed upon him. They both knew in that moment that he was not fit for the task.
Mortal strength could not contend with the awful power of the unseelie, it had taken one blow of her claws to knock his blade aside, and then she had used the next to tear his flesh into ribbons. He fled, struggling not to slip on his own blood. The hunter had become the hunted. Baba Nostra stalked him through the halls will deliberate slowness, her iron nails scraping along the stone walls. The sound grew closer, setting his teeth on edge. Bakar had taken the deepest breaths he could manage, willing his pulse to slow enough for him to think. The hag would prolong his suffering… he would have to use that to best her, it would be his only advantage. He heaved himself up, leaning heavily against his longsword. He withdrew a dagger, deftly holding it so that it was concealed behind his wrist. He would only have one chance to sell his ruse.
“There you are feeble pup. Let me hear you sing sweetly again.” The hag had drawled, advancing leisurely. Bakar lifted his longsword to ready in one hand, his side screaming has he did. Baba Nostra gave him a bored look, and with a flick of her fingers iron spikes sprouted from the ground, impaling his sword arm, and locking him in place. He screamed so loudly his own ears rang, and barely heard his sword as it clattered to the ground.
“What a beautiful song you have.” She crooned, drawing so close now that he could smell her fetid stench. She reached out and caressed his face, her claws leaving angry red scrapes wherever they met his flesh. Baba Nostra let one wicked finger rest beneath his eye, tapping his cheek.
“A fine gemstone this will make, perhaps it will adorn the necklace of some unlucky lord. The best ones are made from fresh stock, you know.” With each word she brought her nails closer, until they began to dig into the socket. Bakar thrashed and shrieked, trying to hold onto any scrap of his wit and patience through the pain as she slowly extracted his eye. She leaned in, leveling her gaze to his, a gloating expression plastered on her face. It was replaced with one of shock as Bakar used his free hand to lodge the dagger he'd concealed beneath her chin and force it up into her head. The hag staggered, spitting up a black blood that stung like acid, and then she fell in a heap.
Using the last of his adrenaline, Bakar had ripped his arm free of the spikes. He was losing blood, from his eye, his arm, and his side--- far too much of it. None of the bandages or herbs he’d brought would staunch it, and so he gathered what little strength he still had to summon fire. He pressed his hand first to his gaping socket, nearly losing consciousness from the pain as he cauterized it. Wheezing, he repeated the process for the other two wounds before slipping into darkness.
When he’d woken, hours later, he had taken his trophy: the head of Baba Nostra, lopped off with his long sword in messy, tired chops. He felt no pride in it, in fact he’d felt nothing but numb shock as he made his voyage back. Bakar let the head fall at his master’s feet, his one eye staring at it on the ground, not able to bear meeting the eyes at the man who had allowed him to go on such a quest. He asked, in a voice hoarse from screams, if any of the others had returned. Musa was the only one at the time of his asking, and it would remain so.
When they were given their hunter’s amulets, Bakar had thought that it was the heaviest piece of metal he’d ever had in his hand. The rectangular coin was barely a knuckle in length, but it held the weight of the burden that had come with earning it, and the weight of the four others who had not returned to claim theirs. Musa and the older hunters drank and celebrated for a week, exaggerating the tales of his deed and adding more outlandish details in every telling. Bakar was silent, he drank nothing...said nothing. The story of how he felled Baba Nostra would not be told until years later. When the tale finally came from his lips, it would be as one of caution against the seeking of glory, for none had told him what it would cost.

18+ Drabble - Home
Summary: Frustration builds, but sometimes a stranger can sooth the raised hackles of the heart. Eddie meets Richie at a bar.
Pairing: Eddie Kaspbrak/Richie Tozier
Warnings: notSFW, alcohol, explicit sexual content, implied drunken sex
Word Count: 1.2k
Part vent work, part smut. But mostly smut lol.
Eddie likes to think he can deal with a lot.
Despite his thorny exterior, he's not actually the type of guy to snap on a dime for no reason. And even then, he doesn't get truly frustrated and angry to the point that he holds it against the people at fault. That takes effort. That takes time. That takes build up.
Resentment. He's familiar with it. Living with his Mother, it grows in him, slow and sure, the little sapling nourished with every cloying call of his name and tear stained bat of her eyes. He hates feeling like this, letting things fester into an unrecognizable soupy mess, till his anger becomes an all consuming cloud of apathetic contraction. Tightening his muscles, and sitting like a stone in his stomach.
He yells to get it out, to let his feelings free so they don't bottle up inside him, pounding harshly around shaken and fizzy, ready to explode.
He hates it.
His skin stretched tight over the set of his shoulders, throbbing dully. Harshly digging his teeth into the soft flesh of his lip, a distraction to the rattle of cool anger in his veins.
He's not the type to drink his feelings, but the light amber liquid sloshing in his stein would tempt him otherwise. It's swill, disgusting sawdust sludge that drags across his tongue on each swig.
He keeps sipping it.
He shouldn't even be here. She'll smell it on him, the minute he gets home like a blood hound, and ask him in that same cloying voice, "Eddie-bear, where were you?" The phantom memory driving another sip down his throat.
He intends that to be his evening, stewing in silence, eating up the tiny back corner table closest to the hustle and bustle of the back room where a rowdy group plays pool (far too loudly) that no one else wants the little section he's dug out for himself. And even if they did, his deep set glower keeps them away.
Free to wallow in his self-made misery, Eddie doesn't expect the door to the back to swing open quite so suddenly. Nor the stranger that stumbles drunkenly, falling into the seat across from him with a laugh.
He expects him to take one look at Eddie, and turn tail from the buzz kill. To rush away with a chip on his shoulder, and then go back to his buddies gossiping about the asshole in the corner booth.
But, he looks at Eddie and does the least expected thing he could imagine short of punching him.
He talks.
"Whoa, you a cousin of Oscar the Grouch? Hey, never met a celebrities cousin before!" It's clearly a joke, but he says it with a serious earnest flare that has Eddie's lips threatening a smile.
"You write that yourself? I'm impressed."
"Really? I thought that one was, like, at most a 4, could use some work."
"No, I'm impressed you can write."
The other man smiles a wide toothy grin, clearly caught off guard, slapping his knee laughing a throaty chortle. "And he's got jokes! Richie Tozier's the name, and laughter is my game. Care to play?"
He's wiggling his brow and clearly drunk (or perhaps just drunk on his own overstuffed ego). Eddie opens his mouth to tell him to fuck off, and maybe shove it up his ass.
They end up talking for hours.
If asked to repeat the conversation, Eddie remembers maybe something about Anthony Perkins and Squidward? How that translated to this mans hands on his ass, shoved up against the wall of a hotel (a fancy one in Upper Manhattan no less!!) Eddie doesn't know.
What he does know is the drag of his beard across his chin and lips is driving him up the wall. Literally, Richie hicks him up easily, groping and grounding his palms across the clothed surface of his ass. Nibbling at his lips, both of their hard cocks unignorable between them. Eddie's never done this before, gone back to a mans room, one he just met at the bar after some hours of conversation.
He barely remembers the jump from there to here, mind distracted by the press of his lips, wet and hot on his own. He wonders what Richie's lips will feel like dragging across his thighs, trailing up to his spread cheeks. That irresistible tongue lapping at every inch of exposed skin, his beard prickling pleasantly in it's wake.
Richie presses more firmly against him, and Eddie goes nearly feverous with want, the hard press of his cock into his own, even covered by layers of clothes has his hips twitching in anticipation. Savoring the feel of every inch of Richie colliding into him.
And, God, is that a lot.
Eddie can feel him, how big he is, and he wants him. Wants that cock fucking him hard, fucking him until every last thought in his head is banished, but the blissful drag of that cock pounding into his prostate. And it'll hit deep, he knows it will, it can't possible not with such girth. He wants to shove Richie down on that bed, and sink down on his cock till it presses so deeply inside him he can think of nothing else. Till Richie can think of nothing else. Thrusting up into him, gripping his thighs tightly while Eddie bounces on his lap, moaning without a care who hears them. Wanting them to hear, wanting them to know how hard Richie fucks him, and how much he enjoys it.
That just for tonight, even if it's only tonight, Richie is his, just as Eddie is his.
Fucks him hard enough that he forgets his mom. Forgets her and her bullshit, and her fingers constricting around the back of his neck like an unseen vice. Forgets her self inflicted victim-hood, and crocodile cries. Forgot his job and his stress, building one on top of the other. Demands for more, bigger expectations, despite an ever growing in-box of paperwork, paperwork, paperwork! And clients surgery sweet knives, stabbing him, digging him right between the shoulder blades because its just One Simple Request, Eddie. One favor, one favor, one favor until its a million and one favors and he's rubbed to the bone, shiny and breakable, but it won't stop! Won't ever stop, so he drowns himself in Richie.
Not on the bed, or on the wall, but face first against the large reinforced window of his hotel overlooking the city. Richie's fat cock pressing into him, as his vision blurs the lights below into a mass of colour, and all he thinks of is the man fucking him like he knows him.
It doesn't make sense, but he fucks him like it’s the first, and last time. Fucks him till all Eddie cares about is more pleasure, more delicious burning pooling in his gut, his hot panting breath fogging the window, bracing himself on the sill with his arms. Fucking him deep and hard, right to the core, till Eddie's spilling across the wall and carpet in clear glops, and Richie grinds into his ass. Emptying himself into the condom with a groan.
And for one peaceful, wonderful night, he feels like himself again. Not the man with a sickness called anger and bitterness stewing inside of him. But, Eddie, just Eddie. Normal, happy, content, Eddie.
He doesn't see Richie after that night. Not until the Jade anyway.
But even while he forgets the face, the name, he doesn't forget that night.
And the echo of the man who felt like home.

Be beauty be young 💓💓👩🏼take care of yourself 🙌🏻💗 Gua sha - Used in traditional Chinese medicine, the practice involves scraping a flat, rounded tool, usually made of jade, over the skin. Translated, gua means press or stroke, and sha refers to a rash or redness, but while traditional Chinese therapists work hard and deep – skin can be left bright red – for its beauty benefits, you need a lighter touch on the face. “You are also creating a controlled trauma [that short-term flush of redness], which the skin then starts to repair by making new collagen.” full video here▶️🔊 https://youtu.be/VwEeDAgfw5w . . . . #guasha #stein #stone #massagetechniques #gesicht #beautyhacks #Rosenquarz #rosequartz #lymphaticdrainage #gesundheit #traditionalchinesemedicine #acupuncture #schönheit #vienna #austria🇦🇹 #haut #faceform #gesichtspflege #facevideo (at Vienna, Austria) https://www.instagram.com/p/CFMU3GIAoEI/?igshid=nui7xz4hasbj

Anticipated reversals occur in unanticipated locations: avoid planar surfaces. As Saturn and Pluto come into alignment, prepare for irrepressible nostalgia. Casual attachments provide a medley of diversions from long-term fantasies. Mix of sulfur and magnesium is at its height on the twelfth and twenty-ninth: stay clear of disarticulating headwinds while remaining open to miscalibrated address. Seek pine- and coconut-flavored dishes. Preferred alcohol: Anisette (neat).
T19, G20, C21, L22, V23, Li24, S25, Sa26, Ca27, Aq28, P29, A30 Reach out to long-estranged family members to say life is better without you. Don’t back away from regrets. Outer Andromeda is fragmenting into deep time shallows: Time to stop the ambivalence and say no. Midmonth is best time for buying short but avoid other financial transactions. Look over your back before making sudden move. Avoid disco. Linger in crinoline. Seek wool products and avoid rayon. Preferred alcohol: Pisco (sour).
G19, C20, L21, V22, Li23, S24, Sa25, Ca26, Aq27, P28, A29, T30 Pegasus wars with Orion, but zones of calm when Pyxis is rising. Smells intensify in arboreal regions. Old lovers come to mind, posing immediate threat. Keep eyes on interstitial aggravations. Turmeric and clove in seventh and thirteenth week will ward off transvirtual infection. Travel southward when possible but not before 6 a.m. local time. Persons from Uruguay will offer gift: not necessary to return favor but wait one week before opening. Seek volcanic dust. Preferred alcohol: Koskenkorva (with bitters).
C19, L20, V21, Li22, S23, Sa24, Ca25, Aq26, P27, A28, T29, G30 Turbulence in the nebula. Dark Matter in retrovariance. Take only third offers. Dress in chartreuse on even-numbered days and in mute orchid on odd days. Friendships cement in near term on days with “3” (3, 13, 30, 31) but stay at sea level on days with “5” (5, 15). Your horse will “place” on “0” days (10, 20, 30). Moods conform with waning and waxing moon, great calm at new moon. Avoid sexual contact at full moon. Seek bougainvillea. Preferred alcohol: Slivovitz (with orange peel).
L19, V20, Li21, S22, Sa23, Ca24, Aq25, P26, A27, T28, G29, C30 Turn no one away. Gold is buried just beyond shoreline. Emotional tides are uneven but stay with them or undercurrent will pull you down. Magnetic fields from the melting polar caps run roughshod over love life. Avoid newspapers in second weeks; at other times start with recipes, when available. Jupiter crosses Saturn in perfect Equinity Semblance: keep measured distance from newcomers. Saturn is lodestar whose course tracks in avoirdupois: pound for feckless, dram for egress, stone for gravitation. Seek cantilevers. Preferred alcohol: Aguardiente (over ice).
V19, Li20, S21, Sa22, Ca23, Aq24, P25, A26, T27, G28, C29, L30 “The seraph / Is satyr in Saturn, according to his thoughts” (Wallace Stevens). Close call becomes near miss. Bounty holds only when seared. Jade is talisman of recusal and redaction. Aspiration punctuates lunar flares. Retreat in hollow days, parry on pivots. “The genius of misfortune / Is not a sentimentalist”: defy writ to rend. The tally is incendiary, but fortune comes in buckets. Disable charms to charm. The following day rips away the scuff of last. Cleave to presenting, adjacent insistence deems purpose. Seek such sentiment (not sentimental). Preferred alcohol: Drambuie (splits).
Li19, S20, Sa21, Ca22, Aq23, P24, A25, T26, G27, C28, L29, V30 Cold mouth, hot lips. Perpetuate fevered state, outlives livid transiencies. Dig hard but cede ground. Solar flares quash unspoken dreams but open path for development. Meteor showers in the south inflate currency. Lucky numbers: 8, 13, 331. Orient Eastward for repose, Westward for reflection. Scent: basil. Keep cool, under 60 degrees Fahrenheit, on first and last days of every month except first and last months. Eat soup weekly, alternating hot and cold. Seek predisposition. Preferred alcohol: moonshine (with rum).
S19, Sa20, Ca21, Aq22, P23, A24, T25, G26, C27, L28, V29, Li30 Watch for mid-Pacific squalls. Stay totally clear on such days. Even the smallest thought can betray you. Confide only in friends from past five years and only about matters that occurred over that time. Signs of incompatibility include swift and frequent eyelid clatter, extravagant hand motion, and midday drowsiness. Signs of compatibility include sudden rain, heightened gait, and tender elbow. High risk of falling into Dark Matter. Vigilance pays off on third, twelfth, and nineteenth day. Seek vermilion. Preferred alcohol: Trappist brandy (spritz).
Sa19, Ca20, Aq21, P22, A23, T24, G25, C26, L27, V28, Li29, S30 “What is most full seems empty. Yet its use will never fail. What is most straight seems bent. The greatest skill seems like clumsiness. The greatest eloquence like stuttering.” (Tao Te Ching) Climb to the tallest point within your reach then lie flat at the lowest point, saying these words. Saturn’s rings surround your despair: have courage! Sing a song of childhood when you feel farthest from it. Every crack of thunder speaks with the voice of your dearest lost loves. Seek oak. Preferred alcohol: rice wine (chilled).
Ca19, Aq20, P21, A22, T23, G24, C25, L26, V27, Li28, S29, Sa30 Settled matters unravel: time to take the advantage. Tropical depressions complicate unfamiliar liaisons providing opportunities for needed adventure. Catch a falling star and put it in your pocket. Uranus rising: auspicious for small-bore improvements but not major renovation. Act as if “there is no use in a center” (Stein): galvanize desire against regret and regret against compulsory well-being. Bird song provides big tip on holiday parties. Seek negative velocity. Preferred alcohol: mescal (with lemon).
Aq19, P20, A21, T22, G23, C24, L25, V26, Li27, S28, Sa29, Ca30 Sharp descent of Calypso Cluster drags Marmolean Veil into direct imbrication. Lucky numbers: −6, −18, −871. Lucky colors: maroon, dead-island blue, mustard gray. Stay pressurized: do not leave capsule. Pseudoglossia is music from outer spheres but do not interpret or translate. Live in, not for, the moment. Seal the deal (resistance is a form of divination). Seek adjacency. Preferred alcohol: cachaça (with lime and sugar).
P19, A20, T21, G22, C23, L24, V25, Li26, S27, Sa28, Ca29, Aq30 Let envy propel you to eternity. Otherwise, duck and cover. Orion lays bare prognosis: structure treatment in response. Anxiety cools to fermenting antagonism: perpetuate memorialization. Sylvan linings pocket outsize payouts. Scatter in flutter, halt then heave hard. Use thyme and ginger on sixth and eighth days of month, otherwise paprika (except in first and last days). Time will stand still at last moment. Follow the radiant sound of whoosh and whap. Declare insolvency as metaphysical foundation: blur affinities and self-identifications. Midmonths probe deep into shadows: reject false bottoms. Seek inardency. Preferred alcohol: absinthe (with Bénédictine).

but the heart of a man is a simple one (Part 2)
As promised, done by the end of the week (barely)!
Part 1 | ko-fi | Ao3
reblogs really help my writing efforts and motivate me to keep going with these long, multi chapter fics
Caleb did something he almost never allowed himself to do; he took a long look at himself in the mirror.
He tried to think objectively about what he saw, as if he were only studying another one of the crystals that had been scattered across his work bench recently as he wrote down the dimensions of each one, their brightness, their clarity, trying to figure out what energies could be refracted through them and how. Those he understood perfectly, it was all figures and coordinates and diagrams. Why shouldn’t this be as simple?
He tried to see how he could make the long, drawn face that gazed wearily back at him look even vaguely like a lord. Like someone powerful and certain and sure. Like someone confident. Like someone happy.
Like a groom on his wedding day.
Caleb had been awake before the dawn, he wasn’t even sure if he’d really slept. Last night, Nott and Jester had tried to tempt him with steins of thick, dark beer, the kind he really loved, around a blazing fireplace. Beau had suggested they all get blazing drunk and go swimming in the fountain again in the palace gardens. Fjord had quickly proposed a more modest and less illegal idea of dice and cards. He’d appreciated the efforts, to an extent, but it was all such a transparent attempt to take his mind off the following morning, complete with forced smiles and joviality, that he hadn’t been able to stomach it for very long, waving them all away and admitting defeat. Even the words of his favourite books hadn’t been able to soothe him, they’d bucked and squirmed on the page in front of his eyes and only left him more frustrated. In the end, he’d hurled his most favourite tome of old folk tales from across the Dwendalian Empire across the room to the opposite wall in a fit. He’d sulked for a full minute until he’d quickly scrambled up to make sure it wasn’t damaged, apologetically dusting off the cover and stroking the spine.
He must have slept at some point; his hair was an ungodly tangle. The dresser was going to have a fit, Caleb realised glumly, running his fingers through it and only succeeding in making things so much worse. He didn’t hold out much hope that being too scruffy would get him out of this marriage contract. There was so much ceremony and formality tangled up in today but he didn’t think it went quite that far.
They’d be along soon, he knew, the sun was almost fully in the sky. If Caleb had his way, he’d bar the door, shove his tallest bookcase in front of it, turn out all the lights and determinedly insist the world beyond didn’t exist. But that would achieve nothing. He didn’t want to be dragged into his marriage kicking and screaming, as accurately as it would reflect how he felt inside. The other archmages thought him weak and pathetic, he knew they did, soft hearted and low born, a black mark on their ancient order. But Caleb wasn’t going to give them anything to sneer at today.
He wasn’t going to cry for them.
But he was alone now and he could already feel the tightness in his chest, that familiar and hated taste of rust in the back of his throat. He crossed to the bed and knelt, pressing his face to Frumpkin’s fur, trying to take deep, slow breaths like Jester had taught him. It helped a little and the small, raspy tongue lapping at the back of his neck helped even more.
“At least I’ll always have you, huh?” Caleb smiled weakly, lifting his head to scratch behind his ears.
He’d have to stay hidden for the ceremony, of course, knowing the little cat he’d likely try to swat at the fringes on the high priest’s robes or scratch the edges of the sacred altar. But Caleb could free him for the feast, maybe sneak him some morsels from his plate when none of the other people on the dais were looking if he’d behave and stay in his lap and not go chasing after anything.
Caleb didn’t expect he’d have much stomach for the food himself. Not with what was waiting for him at the end of the feast.
Thankfully, a sharp, formal knock at the door stopped his mind sinking any further into that mire, forcing him to sigh and stand and go open the door to the veritable army of people tasked with making him look even halfway lordly.
Today was a production, a performance, every step of it carefully blocked and tailored for the benefit of the Empire. Caleb was only an actor, Mollymauk Tealeaf was only an actor. They were all just following their scripts so the lords above them could puff up their chests and point to the elaborate decorations made of twisted silver and diamond and gold when there weren’t even coppers to be found down in the slums and the river of food that would flow through the great hall while the city’s people starved just beyond the gates, they could point and say with pride that the Dwendalian Empire was stronger than ever.
And when the day was done and the ribbon hangings had been crushed underfoot and all that was left of the rich wines were puddles on the floor and the lords were fatter and goutier than ever, drunk on their own importance, it would be Caleb and Mollymauk who were left in the middle of it all, left following the same script pages for the rest of their lives and growing wearier and wearier and gradually falling apart, trapped.
As he was pushed into the chair before the silvered glass and a brush was passed through his hair, accompanied by the frustrated tsking of the dresser, Caleb watched as a single, almost invisible tear dripped down the nose of his reflection.
The ceremony could have lasted a handful of seconds, for all Caleb took notice of it.
He was vaguely aware of the high priest’s voice, low and sonorous as it echoed off the ancient walls of the temples, and the undulating voices of the prayer singers behind him, but it was as if it couldn’t reach him, even as he knelt on the hard stone steps, front and centre in front of so many pairs of eyes. He felt none of it, heard none of their murmurings.
And yet every shift of silk, every slight ring of metal on metal, every soft exhalation, every movement from the tiefling next to him sounded out loud as thunder. The young lord from the Menagerie Coast had entered the temple in a wash of bright colour; his freshly oiled and sharpened scimitars hanging from his side, the ornamentation in his horns and ears and tail caught somewhere between armour and jewellery, intricate patterns woven into the flowing robes he wore, transforming him into a living story of his people and where they’d come from, everything that had brought him here to this cavernous, ancient hall to marry a stranger. As soon as Caleb had seen him, his breath had quickened with so many different emotions that he couldn’t quite keep track of them, his response inaudible under the significant response from the assembled dignitaries of both of their kingdoms and others from far and wide, condemning and admiring in equal measures. The ripple of noise had followed the tiefling and his retinue as they’d processed down the length of the hall, as his cortèges melted away and took their assigned places, flanking the couple, who had then stood alone in the sight of men and the gods, the offerings from two different nations to be exchanged like coins to buy peace.
Then Caleb had just gotten lost in it all.
The prayers and songs didn’t reach him, the words he’d practised fell from his lips carelessly. The sacred oil dripped down his forehead and he didn’t feel it, the light of the refracted crystal fell across his face but he didn’t see it, the gold chain was wound between his wrist and Mollymauk’s but he didn’t feel it.
The only thing he could feel was the presence of Mollymauk beside him, the tiefling always seemed to run hotter than most and warmth radiated from him especially in the cool of the stone temple, that and the eyes that bore down on him from above. The ones in the audience passed over him but the cold, ancient eyes done in opal and jade and black diamond, the ones of the statues of the gods that ringed the sloping walls of the temple, they pressed on him with a physical weight. They asked him what someone like him, someone broken, someone common, someone scarred, thought he was even doing here. What right did he have to stand here in this sacred place? Who was he?
Caleb had no answers for them. He could only stand and sweat and miss the moment when the high priest declared that the two before him were bound for eternity and their love could be sealed with a kiss, the first of many, having to be reminded with a careful cough from Fjord to turn find Molly’s lips pressed against his own. It was so sudden and dry and swift that it was over before Caleb even registered it and then it was done.
He was married.
He’d never felt so hollow.
Whereas the ceremony passed right over him, like a storm raging outside a house where he was curled up with his head between his knees, for the feast Caleb was submerged in it and there was no escape.
For once, the older archmages wanted him centre stage, right up on the dais in the place of highest honour, beside his new husband. From there he could see the whole party laid out before him, could see his friends laughing and joking together on the lower bench where he would much rather be, safe in amongst their friendly smiles and inside jokes. But instead he had to be presented with as much fanfare as possible, far away from any protection his companions could give him, stuck in awkward, stifling silence with Mollymauk.
The tiefling was trying his best, offering light compliments on his robes, the food before them, the décor. But even his usual easy confidence was sapped by the pressure the two of them were under and Caleb couldn’t manage more than weak mumbles that were utterly lost under the music, the chatter, the smoke of the fires. Before long people started to dance, his good friend Jester being the first, rising from the table and walking across its top, nimbly avoiding people’s trenchers and tankards to Fjord and ask him to join her on the floor while their friends whistled and laughed in response. They were joined by others until there were several twirling, weaving pairs of all colours and shapes but somehow turned into the same washed out grey silhouettes by the smoke and incense, each one in its own universe.
Caleb bit his lip thoughtfully as he watched them, suddenly aware that he really should be asking Mollymauk if he would favour him with a dance. It was expected of new couples to take to the floor, typically while some slow, haunting ballad of love flowed from the musician’s platform. That was how it always went in the books Caleb read; the couple was supposed to kiss passionately in the glow of the candlelight as the last strains of the music reverberated around them, sweet as flowers blooming.
The thought only turned his stomach in knots.
He must have been glancing anxiously between the dancers and Mollymauk because the tiefling suddenly reached out and touched him lightly on the shoulder, making him start suddenly.
“Would- oh, sorry,” he withdrew his hand quickly, smiling apologetically, “Would you like to dance? We can if you like, my lord?”
Caleb cleared his throat and made to rise from his chair, pulling his long, flowing velvet robes after him awkwardly, “I suppose it is expected of us.”
Just for a second, he thought he saw something like disappointment cross Molly’s face but it was gone too quickly for him to really place, his new husband coming after him, effortless and confident in his ceremonial attire by contrast.
The other couples parted to let them take their place in the very centre of the open space, right atop an elaborate tiled depiction of one of the great wars of Zadash. Caleb wrinkled his nose in distaste at it though he got some small amount of pleasure in stepping right on the face of the pompous looking Zadashi general as he and Molly entered an awkwardly formal hold.
They began to sway slightly, Caleb remembering what he’d learned in dance classes from his youth that had been part of his academy training, which he’d actually rather enjoyed. Though his limbs felt stiff and awkward and unhelpful now, his heartbeat distractingly fast and his underarms disarmingly warm from having his husband of two hours close to him.
“I... I’d hoped to see you in the plaza some evening?” Mollymauk murmured quietly, “I looked for you.”
Caleb flushed and not from the oppressive heat of the feast all, “Ah. Yes, what with the wedding and everything, I…they’ve been watching me like hawks, I couldn’t sneak away…”
It was only half a lie. He’d thought a lot about their evening, about their unexpected meeting at the feet of the city’s fountain. And the more Caleb thought about it, the more he’d wanted to steal away every single evening since to see if there would be that crowd of laughing children, their eyes alight with joy as the honourable Lord Tealeaf stole away from his duties and responsibilities to entertain them as he juggled his swords. And the more he’d realised he couldn’t. The more of himself he hid from his husband for as long as he possibly could, the better it would be for all of them. So, every evening since then and now, he’d pretended to read while anxiously bouncing his leg and looking out of the window, alternating between wondering what new tricks Mollymauk was pulling for his show and insisting to himself that nothing was further from his mind than his betrothed.
“Of course, I understand,” Mollymauk nods, the ornamentation in his horns catching the light as he did, the bands that clung to the curves and the spun gold that hung between their span, “It has been a lot.”
Caleb looked down, his fingers twitching inside Mollymauk’s. In amongst it all, the robes and the prayers and the pointless feasting, he’d somehow forgotten that there was another half of this marriage, someone else who had been dreading this day as much as he had. That smiling, hopeful, laughing man from the plaza.
“Yeah,” Caleb mumbled, holding his hand a little tighter, feeling the twin golden rings press against each other, the one that looked stunningly loud on Caleb’s thick, rough, calloused fingers and comparatively humble on Mollymauk’s bejewelled, slim, purple ones.
Maybe he would have said something else. Maybe he wouldn’t. But it was then that the outer torches suddenly flared to life, bathing the wedding party in a sudden, harsh light, and the Grand Mage of the city rose to his feet, slightly shaky after consuming what seemed like half of the spice wine the Menagerie dignitaries had brought with them. In a slurred voice, he declared it was past time that the feast drew to a close and the bridegrooms were allowed to complete their marriage. And Caleb felt his stomach drop to the bottom of his boots.
Molly’s hand was suddenly pulled from his own as the wedding guests descended, whirling the two bewildered men towards the stairs up to the chambers of the archmages up above, one of which had been primped and polished and prepared for Caleb and Molly’s first night as husbands. There would likely be a fresh flagon of the sweetest, thickest blackberry wine, a bowl of plump, fresh grapes so ripe the veins showed beneath the skin, fine silk hangings over a groaning featherbed, candles lit to fill the air with the scent of rose and amber and spice. A lot of effort for somewhere Caleb would rather sleep in the darkest dungeons of the palace than set one foot in.
As they were pulled along by the raucous wedding guests, though his friends took no part, staying far back and watching their friend with anxious expressions, Caleb strained his neck for a glimpse of Mollymauk’s expression, dreading and desperate to get some indication of what would happen as soon as the heavy oak doors closed and they were left alone. But the only thing the tiefling showed was surprise and puzzlement. Maybe no one had told him of the Dwendalian tradition of carrying the bride and groom to their marriage bed.
The room was as perfectly manicured as he’d expected and Caleb’s stomach still twisted into a tight knot at the sight of it all laid out before him. What little food he’d managed to get down during the feast threatened to come back up and make Caleb Widogast the only man in the history of the empire to utterly ruin a diplomatic treaty by retching on his betrothed during their wedding night. He tried to steady himself as best he could after he was tipped onto the bed, the room spinning around him in a whirl of formless burgundies and ivories, Mollymauk catapulted to his side a few seconds after.
And then with a last few whistles and ribald suggestions, silence suddenly dropped down upon them with a low, final boom of the closing door. Caleb’s hands shook as he staggered to his feet and reached for the flagon on the side table, pouring two glasses of the wine, tempted to swallow them both down himself before his husband could notice.
“My goodness,” Mollymauk sounded slightly dazed behind him, “Forgive me but I didn’t expect your people to have a wedding custom that was so…fun?”
“No offence taken,” Caleb replied, wincing internally as his voice came out thin and watery, “It is our only one, after all.”
Mollymauk accepted his glass with a grateful smile, though his eyes lingered slightly on Caleb’s hand, how it trembled and clutched the stem of his own goblet with white knuckles. The wizard quickly busied himself with jumping to his feet and crossing the room to throw back the drapes so he didn’t have to look at those knowing, slightly pitying red eyes any more. From here, the whole city had been reduced to just a handful of dim orange lights on a field of black velvet, scattered carelessly on the foot of the hill on which the palace crouched. For a moment, Caleb’s throat tightened and he wondered what he wouldn’t give to be down there again, for everything to have gone differently, to still be just Caleb with his simple life and his dreams and his family.
It was such a blow to think that getting everything he’d wanted back then had been what ruined him.
“My lord?” Mollymauk spoke up gently, his voice sounding so far away. Caleb realised then that he’d been standing by the window in silence for longer than he’d meant to.
“Forgive me,” he said quickly, swallowing the rest of his wine, so thick and sweet and sudden that it was almost metallic on the back of his tongue, leaving the goblet on the windowsill as he turned back to the bed, “How would you like to do this? I… I can disrobe for you or you could do that if you wanted…”
“Caleb…” Molly sighed softly but the words kept spilling out of the wizard in a desperate tide, like if he just kept talking everything would work out, and the tiefling’s voice barely reached him.
“I hope you’ll forgive my…my inexperience but I’m willing to do whatever you ask of me, as long as you instruct me in what I need to do, I…I want to please you as best I can, my lord, I just want to please you as best I can…” he continued, voice growing thinner and more anxious, his shaking getting worse. And, oh gods, there were tears building in his eyes and he couldn’t hold them back and his chest was heaving like a set of bellows and his whole face was burning and there was a numbness in the tips of his fingers…
“Caleb.”
His own name always made him start a little. People called him so many things other than his given name these days, remembering it was always a slight shock. And now Mollymauk’s hands were on his own and his thumbs were running over his knuckles and those red eyes looked less like the warning colour of blood and more like the fires on top of a beacon tower. Caleb began to feel again, the pull of air in and out of his lungs and his heartbeat in his chest though he still felt dizzy and sick and small.
“Caleb, do you want to have sex with me tonight?” Mollymauk asked in a gentle voice, a kind of honesty and openness in his expression that was so alien to Caleb but something in his chest cried out to it.
“No,” he whispered after a long time, pained and lost, lower lip starting to tremble.
“Then we aren’t going to,” Molly nodded firmly, as if it could be so simple. He led his staggered wizard back to the bed, hands not wandering anywhere near the fastenings of his robes, just sitting upon the petal strewn eiderdown. Instead of more wine, he poured him a cup of cool, iced water, pressing it into his hands with an expression that, for a moment, could have convinced Caleb that he was genuinely worth caring about.
“But…isn’t it expected?” he protested in a faint voice, sounding slightly more like himself after a few swallows of the water cleared his head, “if we don’t consummate the marriage, it can be set aside and the whole treaty could fall apart?”
Mollymauk shook his head, waving away his concerns with a hand, though the action was more soothing than dismissive.
“Caleb, I’ll be honest? I don’t care,” he admitted shamelessly, “I don’t care about their rules and I don’t care about their goddamned treaty. I am absolutely not going to have sex with you if you aren’t ready for it. I swear, I will not touch you until you expressly ask me.”
Caleb was stunned, looking for some sign that he was joking but there was none. There was only one question that quaked shyly on the end of his tongue, so small but he couldn’t for the life of him make sense of it.
“Why?”
Mollymauk tilted his head slightly, “Because…because I care about you? I care about you being happy in this marriage, Caleb, if we can manage it. I know neither of us chose this path but I want to make the best of it now we’re on it. Is that really so strange?”
It was. But Caleb just shrugged, starting to relax a little.
“What do we do all night then?” he asked, running his thumb along the edge of the goblet.
“Well, what would you normally be doing of an evening?” his strange new husband asked lightly, smiling a little, “And don’t lie to me and say you’d be sleeping, I see the burned down candle ends piled on your desk.”
Caleb laughed ruefully, bemused at how short a time someone needed to spend with him to see that, “No, I suppose I’d be reading right about now.”
“Then…could you read to me, perhaps?” Molly offered, opening his hands, one of the many gestures he seemed to flicker through as he spoke, “I used to love to read when I was younger and I’m afraid I haven’t had the time of late?”
“Of course,” Caleb was still stunned but he decided not to question it, running with it until something inevitably came and tripped him up, “I have one with me actually, a book of folk tales…”
“Sounds wonderful,” Mollymauk murmured gently, his slight smile growing.
And so their wedding night was spent with Molly sprawled lazily across the many cushions, idly eating grapes and offering one to Caleb occasionally, who was sat up against the headboard, eyes roving over much loved familiar words, his voice low and warm and contented as he read them aloud. Eventually his eyelids grew heavy and the lines greyed and blurred before him and then Molly’s hands guided him down and pulled the blankets over him.
And it was over. The day Caleb had been dreading for so long was over and the future he was so uncertain of had begun.
Though his heart felt just a little bit lighter.

11. February 2019 - 01. March 2019
There we hired a kayak for one day and saw this beatiful Park.
From there we drove all the way to the west coast which is very rough. It has also a lot of big waves and awesome sunsets. The west coast is famous for the wet weather but we were really lucky and had, like on the whole NZ trip before, all day sunshine. Within a few days we saw the Pancake-Rocks, Hokitika Gorge and the Rainforest. Besides we visited the capitol town for the Jade stones.
Over the Haastpass we drove in to visit Wanaka and Queenstown. There we saw the very first bungyjump in the world but we didn't jump, it was too low for us. ;)
Further we went to the east coast and observed some fur seals and giant royal albatross. On the Otaga Peninsula we have searched some blue penguins, unfortunately we didn't find them.
In the middle of the South Island we felt like Canada because of the two deep blue lakes (Lake Pukaki and Lake Tekapo) and because of the highest mountain (Mt. Cook).
The second last stop was the small town Kaikoura which is famous for the whale and dolphine watching culture. We really liked the place but for our bad we had some rainy days there. Of course we went on a whale watching tour and were lucky to see a sperm whale and some different kinds of dolphins.
After one month of driving we reached Christchurch. We spent one day with sightseeing in the city, which is destroyed from an eathquake a few years ago. The second day we had to pack our stuff and to drop off the campervan.
Sadly New Zealand is already over, but the next country, Australia, is waiting for us!

emerald, jade, and onyx!
Gemstone Headcanons // accepting!
Emerald: Do they suffer from any sort of mental illness?
oh boy. ohhh boy. he’s got a whole collection of em. he definitely has generalized anxiety disorder, which is compounded by post traumatic stress disorder caused both by fighting in Shibusen’s war since age twelve, and by the emotional trauma from both of his meisters ( Stein’s breach of trust, his ex wife’s emotional abuse ). plus we all know he’s an alcoholic. he’s also got a little bit of a savior complex, and i know it’s not a mental illness, it’s a developmental disorder, but he also has asperger’s
Jade: What are their opinions on luck? Do they believe in it?
he’s VERY superstitious about luck, and can you blame him? he fights witches for a living, why wouldn’t luck be a contributing factor. he considers his cross tie a good luck charm, despite it being a present from his ex wife, and he carries around other good luck charms too, like those lucky rubbing stones
Onyx: How do they handle hostility from others, whether verbally or physically?
oof this is a tough one, it’s really a case by case thing. i feel like most of the time, he tries to just talk things down, or back away. of course it’s a different situation if it’s someone he considers an enemy, i.e. a witch or kishin egg. then it’s no holds fucking barred, he’s gonna get stabby

A fantasy prompt for 'green' plz?
Certainly! What a delightful request!(Only now, going back up to add this little response, do I realize that you asked for ‘a prompt’, and not a million. Oops.)I hope you like these. They’re a bit wordy- I got carried away. But they’re prompts nonetheless! If you would like some shorter, more to-the-point prompts without as much context-content, or whatever you want to call the lengthy bits of writing, pray tell! Or, if you just want more/less of one kind of prompt (more dialogue, less setting, etc.), or if you just want more prompts in general, I’d be happy to write you up a dozen more.
________
- - -‘Blood of Tree’, they called it. A swirling mass in a jar that bowed and dipped and swayed to some silent waltz, luminescent with some brilliant, strange force. It gushed about in oozy rivulets one moment, and then kept aloft the next in a foggy murmur of a cloud, and then it would sit on the bottom of the glass in shattered fractals, jagged and wickedly sharp. I always thought the name was silly. It deserved its own name. It didn’t need to be compared to anything. Heck, it couldn’t be compared to anything.
- - -“They aren’t pixies,” the troll whispered. Fear fluttered over his eyes like some maddened moth. “Just keep your trap shut, and we’ll get out of this alive.” And it was then that I saw one of the shrieking creatures. Wee claws curling around the stone corner, a hissing warble, followed by another mind-stabbing scream. Verdant scales and the coiled muscles of an adder, lanced through with voidish black, the intensity matched only by their eyes. Oh, the eyes….
- - -The dull thrum that came from the marsh was deafening for some, but a lullaby to others. I used to tell my kids that it was the tupelo trees singing. That, if they listened closely enough, they could hear the crickets and the frogs harmonizing to try to brighten their sepulchral melody, but to no avail. They mourned for the slow world, the one full of moss and jewelish dragonflies and sweet dreams. The one that had been replaced with smoke and spilled business and the bustle of aching feet. I told them that they just didn’t understand the change. And I told them that that was okay. Because none of us did, really. We just didn’t talk about it quite as often nor quite as loudly as they did.
- - -The elf’s sigh was explanation enough. But he clarified anyways. “Here, they can’t get us.” I looked around at the mismatched tables and chairs. The threadbare rugs mixed with the plush carpets and the faux-fur bathmats that had been shoved under stools so they wouldn’t scratch up the floors. The walls, covered in paintings and claw scores and hand-drawn pictures and toddler scribbles and one or two scorch marks from when they still had stoves. And then I looked at the people. Despite the circumstances, they were smiling. Despite what was out there, they looked…. They looked happy. Even the kids weren’t crying, despite the bandages being wrapped around their wounds, despite the acrid smell of the old candles. These…. These people. They were far from home. And, heck, they were with other species that, on any other given day, they probably would’ve been trying to rip the heads off of. But no. It was calm. And it was…. It was good. “Here,” he continued, with a trace of a smile tugging at the corner of his mouth, “we can heal.”
- - - “The creature will be the death of me,” the Lady sighed, delicately placing her elbow unto the table so she could properly lean her chin upon it. “He’s a genie, m'Lady,” a servant reminded, her voice choked with giggles. “He can’t kill.”They both turned their heads to the gaudy spirit, festooned in a garb of eye-straining greens and polished emeralds and parrot-feathers, his cape whirling as he turned on his heel to accept yet another noble’s quail-eating challenge. (They both had to duck to avoid being clobbered with his stein of ale.)“I know. I just wish I could kill him.” She cocked an eyebrow as she watched the grease and ginger-sauce in his beard simply whuhff away the moment it drizzled down. “He knows perfectly well what I wished for. But he’s just finding one loophole after another. I have half a mind to dismiss him.”“You wouldn’t…! I mean…. With all due respect, m'Lady! The genie is… an animal, surely. Riddled with crudity and a vile tongue. But what he’s brought to the courts surely outweighs the burden, m'Lady?”
- - -“You’re telling me you’ve never heard of Dragon’s Grog?” The vampire grinned, leaning against the wall as plumes of smoke lazed upwards to meet the haze of the city air. The neon sign above us flicked colorful shadows over his face. “Man, that’s not right. It’s perfect for everything. A night on the town. Weddings. Funerals. Parties. Any day that ends in a Y.” Somewhere in the distance, a Quik-O-Rail buzzed on its tracks. A single vwooiiiiif, and it was gone. He flashed his fangs once more before he slipped his headphones from around his neck up and over his ears. It seemed as though I could hear the blare of his electric, upbeat jam before he even hit ‘play’.
- - -“I’ll always remember the story of when the sea switched places with the moorlands,” my grandmother hummed, wiping her knife on the edge of the tablecloth. “Back when the pheasants and the rabbits slipped through the heather like fingers through hair. The breeze would tussle the grasses, and the flowers would dance reels with the mighty winds.” As she said this, she flipped the fish over and began cleaning the other side. I winced at the stench. “But sometimes, it was still. Absolutely, perfectly still. No rippling, no swaying, no nothing. Just… solace. Butterflies playing their strange little games, and sunbeams embracing the Earth. Birdsong was the only thing that broke the silence.”I smiled, and looked out the window. A chuckle escaped. The fields were roiling again, moving up and down as they swelled with the force of the Earth-tide. Even within the safety of the house, I could hear rocks grinding and turf ripping and mending itself back together, mounds of soil cascading and ebbing away until they were replaced with the dusky emerald of the surface-moor. Rabbits and pheasants running on that? And silence? It was a surreal notion. Now she was probably going to say that fish, somehow, swam on the ocean. I laughed again.
- - - It was more of a slime, now. Probably. She didn’t dare turn on the light, for the fear that it would bear some semblance to the moon… What a silly thought. Was she going mad? It didn’t work like that, it didn’t-…. No. No, there was no risking anything. She dipped the glass stirring-rod in the sludge again. Fizzing. Popping. But no shattering. Good, good. She picked up the flask, and squinted hard- had she used too much silver? It was more metallic than anything. It was supposed to be green. Venom-green. That’s what… That’s what it was supposed to be. Darn it all, she didn’t have the time for this! How late was it? She couldn’t just remake the whole bloody thing! A cure was a cure. It wasn’t art. It wasn’t supposed to be pretty. It was just supposed to work. This was it. This was what she had been waiting for. The consequences of impurity be cursed! Oh, Lycaon almighty! THIS WAS IT! Slamming her fist on the cold table, she threw her head back, and began to drink.
- - - The butterfly was made of pale, thin pieces of interlocked jade. Stiff wings clinked against one another as it fluttered clumsily about the office. But then freaking Steven just had to see it. Without missing a beat, he grabbed his miniature stapler, and lobbed it over his cubicle’s wall, hitting his target dead-on. Upon impact, the insect shattered, and a fine, glittering dust arose, only to be sucked up by the ceiling vents. “You’re a jerk,” someone cried from halfway across the room.
- - -The dinghy lurched upwards again. We could hear the cringe-worthy scrapes of her spines on the bottom of our boat, each moment annunciated by a sharp whump as one ended and the other started. Unbroken scales began rising to one side, and then the other… a terrible, sickening shade of seafoam that reminded me a little bit too much of home. “It’s been too long.” My old voice took a chance to appear before I could catch it.“You heard our call. You heard it thrice. And only now, seven years adrift, do you come to our aid.” Whatever the meaning behind the distorted shrieks that issued from the spray there was, I did not listen. I was far too gone to have cared. “Leave. Your excuses harbor nothing.”
- - - “What part of ‘He’s sleeping’ don’t you understand?” The little dryad looked up at her with a tearful snort. “You can’t… For goodness’ sakes. You can’t wake up a non-magical tree. It’s nothing to cry about. He’s not dead, he’s not ignoring you. He’s just sleeping.” Apparently, the explanation didn’t do much in terms of making things better. The creature rubbed vigorously at her eyes with a downturned wrist before leaping forward to wrap her short arms (the best she could) around the slender trunk of the birch tree. The racking sobs came a moment later. The woman sighed. “For the love of…. Just stop, okay? You’re being ridiculous.”
- - -The air was close here. Stitches of silence had been sewn into his tongue, and he dared not disturb the resting realm. The pines, as vigilant as ever, kissed the clouds with their crowns- or, rather, the other way around. He could not see their end. He could, however, see the clouds. The height of their trunks seemed to rival the length of a giant’s sprint. (The only that kept him from believing that he had fallen to the stature of a dormouse was the trace amount of ferns that crouched about the heaps of root. And even then….) After another mile had passed, the man sat down, swept his cloak about his legs, and slumped against his satchel. The daylight had taken a rather unexpected leave. With a twitch of his lips, he felt agog as he turned his eyes above. The man’s breath came slow and swift all at once. This was what he came for. To see this. The slate clouds had gone, replaced by a great, coarse mass of charcoal brown. It fell and rose in time, before it began away, the Earth trembling as it made for the horizon. Ever-so-slowly, day returned, slipping around the belly of the beast like water over a bowl. Less than ten feet away, the bone-shaking step of an ebony hoof fell. (It had to be twice as large as any inn he’d ever seen.) Of all of his years, this marked only the second time that he had seen one of the elk of the Foraoise Mhór.

Blue Bird's Justice League II
Justice League Day: The Last Justice League (New Earth)
Today is Justice League Day (18 November), which makes sense, because it's also the premiere weekend date for the Justice League film. To honor both events, I thought I would do a photoset of the Justice Leagues that Robins have lead, which only brings two distinct teams to mind – both led by Dick Grayson. This photoset will focus on the second Justice League that Grayson led. Dick Grayson (Batman), Donna Troy, Starfire, Victor Stone (Cyborg), James Harper (Guardian), Mon-El, Green Lantern Hal Jordan, and Oliver Queen (Green Arrow) joins the remaining Justice League, Kimiyo Hoshi (Dr. Light), Dinah Lance (Black Canary), and Ray Palmer (The Atom). However, things don't last for long, Starfire leaves to join R.E.B.E.L.S., Green Arrow was expelled for killing Prometheus, Green Lantern Hal Jordan leaves to deal with the aftermath of the Black Lanterns, Black Canary returns to the Birds of Prey, Mon-El returns to the future, Cyborg has his hands full with fixing Red Tornado and helping Red Arrow, The Atom is helping Martin Stein recover, the Guardian has his hand full in Metropolis and Dr. Light puts her priorities of parenthood above the League – leaving Dick Grayson and Donna Troy as the only members of the Justice League. The duo are quickly joined by Jack Knight (Starman) and William Glenmorgan (Congorilla), making a grand total of four members. Later on, Kara Zor-El (Supergirl) joins the League, followed by Jesse Chambers (Jesse Quick) leaving the Justice Society of America for the League, and she was followed by Jennifer-Lynn Hayden (Jade). This particular Justice League holds the distinction as the last Justice League team before the entire universe was rebooted for New 52. Image Used:

A - awesome, amazing.
F - Free House. Coole Bar in Nelson.
G - Golden Bay. Sandstrände die tatsächlich wie Gold leuchten. Von hier aus unbedingt den Whakariri Beach besuchen, der eigentlich schon nicht mehr in der Golden Bay liegt.
H - Hokitika. Kleine schöne Ortschaft, Hochburg für Jade.
I - Intercity Coachlines. Haben mich sicher und bequem durch die Südinsel chauffiert.
J - Jade oder Green Stone wie sie ihn auch nennen. Beliebter Stein der zu Schmuck verarbeitet wird.
K - Kiwi. Übername für eine Neuseeländische Person, Vogel und Nationaltier von Neuseeland, beliebte Frucht. Auf all dies sind sie stolz.
L - Lake Kaiiwi. Blauer Süsswassersee. Angenehme Abwechslung zum salzigen Meerwasser.
M - Mount Maunganui. Mein persönlicher Favorit von Neuseeland. Schöner Strand, schönes Meer, lokale Brauerei die gutes Bier macht. Spaziergang auf den Mount sehr empfehlenswert.
N - Nelson. Coole Stadt, sollte man unbedingt besuchen!
O - Omanawa Falls. Schöner "geheimer" Wasserfall.
P - Picton. Ankunftshafen auf der Südinsel wenn man mit der Fähre kommt. Oder: Panhead (Craftbrauerei)
Q - Queenstown. Adrenalinstadt im Süden die noch viel mehr zu bieten hat als nur Action!
R - (The) Rising Tide. Eine gute Bar in Mt. Maunganui mit etwa 40 verschiedenen Bieren im Offenausschank.
S - Skydiving, das verrückteste was ich je gemacht habe!
T - Tongariro Alpine Crossing. Schöne Wanderung. Empfehlenswert.
U - Ureinwohner.
W - Whitebaits.
