So, this was originally a post about JayWally, but now I think this is just a good idea for canon

Jason decides to kill Wally as revenge for Roy's death

I know this might be considered OOC, but I think based on what we're seeing in RHATO right now Jay could be on his way to a pretty serious regression and/or breakdown anyway, as so often happens when he's isolated from his teammates/friends/loved ones. But the one thing Jason can reliably fall back on is that he wanted Batman to kill the Joker. So, in his mind at the time, he's convinced that Roy would also want his death avenged

Except when Jason gets there he finds a broken man who is nothing like the Joker. One who bears a striking resemblance to Roy (what with the red hair and all). And he figures that Roy probably would have wanted to see Wally rehabilitated, or at least given a chance to save himself and be himself -- scars from his trauma and all -- like the Outlaws gave Roy all those years ago

Jason also realises that he's probably the only other vigilante who knows -- really knows --what it's like to kill. Sure, Jason's never killed any of his fellow vigilantes, but he's come close more than once

Jason definitely breaks him out from wherever he was locked up during Heroes in Crisis, and it renews their status as Outlaws. It could also mirror the first scene of Red Hood and the Outlaws (2011) #1 where Jason breaks Roy out of prison (and personally I'm a sucker for call-backs)

Not to reiterate my previous posts about what I want from RHATO, but I'd also like this to somehow lead to Jason and Wally (the new Outlaws) turning to Luthor for help and in the process either finding Artemis and Bizarro (there are a lot of good jokes you could make about Artemis and Wally that would be super cute YJ references) and/or finding clone!Roy*

There would definitely be a cool symmetry/throwback to having Jason alongside 2 redheads again, one who's a meta and one who's not. I also think clone!Roy* would be in a pretty bad place and it would kinda put the 3 of them on the same level so that they can rebuild together

P.S. this would also be a great place to slot in Roy finding out he's a dad because our current version of Wally lost his family and I think it would be sweet to see him essentially co-parenting Lian

*Actually I guess it'd probably be original Roy technically? Idk, either or is fine tbh
