(reaches out from a dark alley) jessica and gwen’s relationship is a mirror to gwen and miles’s relationship when it comes to being a transwoman or transfeminine and looking up to older more experienced girls because you’re so new to this world that you’re stepping or plunging into and Gwen sees Jessica as both a mother figure and a role model and is grateful to have another woman to look up to because she feels like she’s never doing enough to kinda help Miles throughout his journey as transfemme and Spider-Man and doesn’t want to “be in charge” all the time even if she is the “more experienced girl” and just wants someone to tell her what she’s supposed to be doing and if she’s been doing it “right” in both being a woman and spider-woman and the fact that she grew up without a mother adds to this ache and longing and the societal pressure that daughters are faced with to grow up strong and quickly without their mother (the locusts appear) ALSO MILES HAS ANOTHER BLACK WOMAN TO LOOK UP TO (i wail like a beast as the swarm lifts me away)
