her liner is always sharp but it always takes her a couple of tries but kai does it without a mirror, liquid liner, one hand, no prayers, while yelling at jay, holding a depressed lloyd in his other arm, one swipe and bam. people are dead. volcanoes erupt. the fsm comes back to life. wu spills his tea. lloyd gets therapy. there are many with power greater than man may ever bear witness to but even their knees will feel a chill that freezes their very souls at the twin blades that sharpens this one man's eyes. eyes that kill and perhaps even he doesn't realise it. kai jiang-smith, master of fire but also master of eyeliner. nya never fails to be grateful for everything her brother has ever done for her, but especially for teaching her how to always. always. have bomb eyeliner.

For your consideration: Arcane AU or DB in the style of Arcane

Lol. The two series are honestly very similar, imagine if DB has the budget, writing team and diverse cast of women. IMAGINE.

Anyway, between the two, some parallels to draw:

- Sun City/Mid City are similar in concept to Piltover, both in terms of development, politics bla bla the rich live here.

- Down City and the few work related citys are similar in concept to Zaun.

- Word is not similar to Silco beyond that he’s from Down City. He also has 0 of the sympathetic to Zaunite’s cause thing going on, truly just out for himself.

- Daddy Issues character Moordryd and Jinx lmao.

Anyway, there’s very little story related parallels to be drawn, but the setting? Hell yeah. Only difference is that Dragon City is built upwards into the skies XD At least, this is in canon. I’ve tweaked Word and Zulay’s story a bit, to have Zulay be quite similar to Silco tbh. Word would technically be her Signed. (Unfortunately canon DB bit more than it could chew and wanted to go all Meta/ wiffle waffle about the Dragon Human War and bond between Dragon and Human xD My preference has been treating dragons as a source of power and transport, rather than source of evil lmao. Hard to justify dragon slavery/eugenics when they’re sentient and as intelligent as people, yknow)

Enough rambling, here’s Word with Silco’s scarring. Essentially, he lost a hand and an eye when Zulay explodes in front of him so there’s that story haha EDIT: Zulay as Silco. Better parallels!!! For y'alls comprehension, think of Zulay as Silco in DB. His lab assistant who made Shimmer is Word. Then make those two fall in love, work together and get into Piltover via their riches, plotting an inside job to rule both Piltover and Zaun, but Zulay dies before that happens.

Then this Zaunite mad scientist is stuck in Piltover alone with the fallout + his own grief. Zaunites hate him because his inventions killed their leader. Later, he sends his son instead to do the dirty work in Zaun, and attempt to regain the influence his wife once had there. That’s basically my backstory fill in for the Paynn parents lol

Haha looks like the anons are trying to poke a sleeping dragon here. Here's an ask more up your alley: about Silco and Powder/ Jinx. Why is Jinx all up Silco's ass for thinking he went behind her back and locked Vi up for all these years with the Help of Marcus? She didn't appear to hold it against him all these years thinking he killed Vi with the help of Marcus.

Mmmh I think Jinx never really believed Vi was dead. I mean, that's certainly what she tells Vi in the finale? That she felt she was always there? Sure she could be lying...

But she *saw* Vi abandon her with her own eyes, and she probably believes Silco never killed her. Marcus though? Yeah sure, maybe. He says Vi is dead, and Silco clearly believes him 100% (lol that's his one criminal mistake, believing Marcus). We simply don't know if Jinx believes it fully. Maybe the reason she's so perturbed and sees Vi in look-alikes and needs constant reminder that Vi is dead is precisely because she never really believed it.

I think Jinx could tell Silco did though. We see them at a very fraught time late in their relationship (such as it is), and we don't get to see stuff like... how did Silco break the news of Vi's death to his new protégée? Surely he wasn't blunt, and surely she didn't take it in stride, no matter how he delivered the news and whether she believed him or not.

I think it's very possible Jinx listened to him when it was a soothing thing to believe in. It's much easier to think "My sister is dead" than "My sister abandoned me", isn't it? Also, she never makes a creepy doll for her (or for Vander, another hint she knows about him being Warwickified, maybe)

Also, ahem... Jinx never accuses Silco of lying about Vi being dead directly.

She makes an allusion about not every dead end being dead, to which Silco says he can explain, she hurts him, taunts him, and he says "I didn't know. Marucs never told me she was in Stillwater."

"But you found out she came back. You lied."

She isn't upset that Silco lied all this time. She doesn't believe that. I mean, if she thought Silco had lied to her the *entire time*, I'm pretty sure we'd be seeing a far bigger reaction.

She's upset he's kept the news (from Sevika) secret, for the past day/hours, and she had to find out on her own. At least that's how I understand it.

Then Silco says "How you forgotten how she LEFT you."

So he knows as well that Vi left that night alive and abandoned Powder. That's not a secret.

I don't think these two have many secrets between them. Jinx is a rambling mess and Silco likes the sound of his own voice. Jinx has no friends and Silco doesn't trust anyone else the way he does her.

I genuinely think she's hurt Silco dared to lie to her because he's never had cause to do that before, and it's just not part of their clearly very open relationship.

I mean, I had a toxic relationship with my dad, I can guarantee you if I'd been triggered the way Jinx is in episode 6, I would make very sure my father *never* heard about it, because it would be used against me, or he'd gloat about it or make fun of me. The fact she basically needs no prompting at all to open up, he listens without interruption to her rambling, and reassures her with some tenderness over the rebuke... Yeah nah, I think they're usually very open, and that lie stings all the more for it.

But Jinx thinking he lied all those times would be a full blown betrayal. I don't think that's what we're seeing here.

At the end of the day we don't know how/when Marcus announced Vi was "taken care of" and what he said flat out and what he implied. I can well imagine him being vicious, and waiting for a meeting with Silco during which Powder is there hanging around, and he says his men chased Vi and killed her, just to hurt her.

I can imagine Powder running out of the room and Silco having to comfort her awkwardly. IDK, anything goes.

a sneak peak at a fic

Warning Signs

Literally started writing this fic with this scene in mind. I should also mention I don't think I proofread this lol my bad, hope you enjoy tho

Draco stopped in front of his Aunt, a bored expression dawned his face as he fixed the cuffs on his shirt.

“Yes, Aunt Bella?”

“My dear nephew. Oh, I am so happy you are finally here. It felt like I was waiting forever. I need you, my dear Draco, to tell me if these are your classmates or not. The one’s face,” she pointed to fucking Harry Potter, “is too deformed for any of these nitwits to confirm for our Lord. I need you to tell me, is this Harry Potter.”

Draco saw the boy he called rival for so many years. Potter’s face was obviously hit was a jinx of some sort to remain unrecognisable. His eyes were a different colour, the hair the same, and appeared to have his scar illusioned. But Draco knew it was Potter. There was no mistaking it. Two others were with him, of which he knew one was Granger, so the other must have been Weasley. Although, the last time Draco knew, Weasley abandoned them in the middle of the woods to be a fucking hermit or something. It’s a fucking war, and he left to travel?

The redhead was battered in cuts and bruises already, likely inflicted when captured. He kneeled with his hands behind, held at wandpoint. Granger was crouched on the floor, a wand held to her neck as well. She looked better, still lifeless, but a fire radiated off her.

Draco walked closer to Potter’s face, taking it in his hand, turning side to side. Looking at his face, the jinx likely would not last for much longer. He needed to get her out soon.

“I can’t tell. I don’t believe so. And he hasn’t any scar. Whose heard of a Potter without a scar, Aunt Bella?”

“Now, Draco. We have it on good reason this is the Potter filth with his little bo=lood traitor and mudblood. See, the trio! It’s a trio, my dear Dragon. Look again. Be a good boy and tell me what I need and you can help me deliver the filth to our Dark Lord! Oh, it will be so lovely. I just know they charmed the scar away! I know it. Check again.”

It was a bad day for Bella. It was obvious by her rambles she was stuck in her mind and would only come out to satisfy the Dark Lord. Regardless of how Draco deemed the trio, someone was getting tortured. He could only hope Bella will grow bored before any permanent damage will happen.

“And while I wish to appease the Lord more than anything Aunt, I can not agree with this person being Potter. He hasn’t a scar and his face isn’t at all the same.”

“Well, then, Draco what about these two,” She stomped over and grabbed Weaalsey and Granger’s faces, a knowing grin on Bellatrix’s face. “I know these two are his little sidekicks! You cannot deny that! And where Potter goes, they follow. He is Potter!” Practically screaming, not allowing room for argument.

Granger looked at him. Pleading eyes. Tired dark eyes that should have had a fire roaring behind specks of brown and gold.

Draco felt his resolve start to break, but he would not allow for it. His voice however betrayed him.

Stuttering, looking at Granger and Potter, Draco spoke, “I. . . I don't. . . don’t know. I don’t want to give the Dark Lord the wrong person. His face is all wrong, Aunt Bellatrix.”

“Stop lying to me, boy!” She screeched in Draco’s face. Veins popping. Face growing red. Hands close to reaching out for Draco’s arm, maybe his neck. “It is him. They are the filthy sidekicks.”

Bellatrix eyed her victims longingly. Draco could only assume what was going on in her head. Torture methods. Secrets of the Order unraveled. New orphans for the world to have a go at. One less blood traitor to fight.

“Lestrange!” All in the room turned their head to Yaxley, holding Granger’s bag. “We found this in the mudblood’s bag. Thought you might want to talk to it about it.” He pulled a sword, and of fucking course it was the sword of Gryffindor.

Draco wanted the world to stop. But it was not the world. Just Wizarding Britain with a Death Eater problem. Draco wanted to take the Golden Trio somewhere. Anywhere but the presence of Bellatrix. He was tired. So fucking tired. And the sword created further complications.

Bellatrix slapped Hermione, “Mudblood! Where did you get that?”

Granger spat blood on Bella’s feet, and a fire reignited in those golden eyes of hers. Silence.

Another slap, Another. Another. Another.

Bellatrix collected herself, dusting her robes off, “Boys, take Potter and the blood traitor to the cells. I think I need to have a chat with one Miss Hermione Granger. Girl to girl.” A girn spreading wide. “I think she’s a shy whore around all these distinguished pureblood gentlemen. Run along, now. But! Not too far. I want them close to hear her screams.” A sing-songy voice. Bella was too far gone already, and she had not even properly started the torture. Fuck.

Feet shuffled across the floorboards. Bodies dragged. Insults thrown. Warnings threatened. Draco wished he could throw a warning sign at fucking Weasley. The idiot did not know to shut up. Talking back to Aunt Bellatrix only guaranteed a harsher fate for Granger.

“Draco, my dear Dragon, I wish you to stay here,” Her eyes were still on Granger. He was just about to leave the room. Almost safe. Almost. Almost. Almost was not fucking good enough.

“I would be happy to stay, Aunt Bella, but I think one more guard against these two is likely the smarter option.”

Bellatrix tensed and froze, ready to strike like a snake. She was wound and ready to strike like the snake she spent too much time with as of late. Her hand gripped her wand so hard it looked like it could have snapped. Defense like against her own flesh and blood

“Are you defying my orders, boy! You think you’re smarter than me? I am the Dark Lord’s second! I gave you an order! The rest can look over two fools without wands.”

“Yes, Aunt Bella.”

Her posture relaxed. Her hands once ready for a fight returned to her sides. A wand pointed at Granger’s chest. Bellatrix began muttering, incoherent things, building momentum. “Come here, boy. yooo its ya boy theonekrafter, coming in with the sickest general update on what’s up with writing! i thought i might as well start updating you all on what’s going on, make that follow worth it.

1: hello! it’s been a while! i have been working! capitalism is ruining me.

2: you may have noticed almost all my fics have (discontinued) in the summary now, this is because i haven’t updated most of them in several years and i just wanted to make it official. no hard feelings, but that two chapter fic from 2019 was probably never getting an update. you may ask “which one?”, and to that i say “exactly.”

3: the pit discord has hit 114 members, which is sort of insane to me considering it’s for fanfic but also really hype.

anyways, that out of the way we can get to the rambling. despite my lack of updates, i HAVE been writing, just...very infrequently. and with low energy. i’m entering a writing rush again though so i’ll try and write as many updates as i can, for you guys.

that being said, i’ll hint to a new collab i’ll be doing with reavv, the person i worked on Les Étrangers with if anyone here is familiar with that. (it’s a dragon age fic, go figure.) i don’t know how much i can hint to right now, but it WILL be modern character(s) in thedas, and we’ll be going back to basics when it comes to common tropes in mcit. we’re working on chapter 1 as i write this, and i’m hoping it’ll be a project we both enjoy and that our readers enjoy as well!

ive had a few other works in the backlog, a few ideas for skyrim and dragon age, but whether those will see the light of day is up in the air. should i start just posting my unfinished stuff? i have a ton of si for various fandoms i’ve never finished but have like AT LEAST 2k or something on. though a lot of it is from pre 2020 so it’ll be lower quality. food for thought.

i think i might make another longer post about dragon age soon, just because i’ve been thinking ab fic a lot recently and about the slow death of dragon age’s fandom since it’s height around 2016. i love dragon age and appreciate bioware but also they make a fanfic author’s life very hard.

@mbwestover x , thewritingcorner, bones and i definitely THOUGHT there was gonna be weekly uploads when we started, and then life smacked us all in the face and we all didn’t write for a month, but whatever we’re fine.

currently as of writing this chapter 5 is at around 3k, almost done. i will say it’s gonna be a angsty one, if you read chapter 4 you’ll know why. most of it was admittedly written this past week or so by me at 3am, but that’s between me and you, random citizen.

i think it’ll be a good one, or at least that’s what the others have told me so i have no reason to assume otherwise. you’ll be able to tell me what you think in probably a week(?) or so when we post it. (do not hold me to that. everytime i list a release date i jinx that shit)

why am i clarifying this in the summary, you ask?

i get a lot of comments asking if this is abandoned, which is weird, considering it’s only been like six months since i updated. grrm has taken 11 years to get out that new book, in comparison i’m doing pretty well.

jokes aside, biggering chaper 8 is in the works, i promise. we’re at like 2.2k words, i just haven’t really been feeling asoiaf lately. i haven’t been seeing any good si fics for it lately so the inspiration has been low. (i’ve been eyeing Last Serving Daughter by dwellingondreams though, let’s see if reading that will spark something in my empty head.)

ch 8 is probably gonna be better than most of the other chapters though, i’ve been improving a lot lately in terms of descriptions so i’m hoping that will translate well.

man i don’t even have actual news for this one, i have no fucking clue what direction to go in a book i started writing when i was still in highschool. the only thing saving you magneto enjoyers from a little (discontinued) is my guilt ab being one of the most popular si fics for bnha and not even enjoying bnha anymore.

is it flattering? yes. is it also very fear inducing because i only write video game fanfic for the most part? ...also yes.

feel free to tell me in the comments what would be interesting to see happen in magneto, i’ll gladly listen, but other than that consider magneto on a soft hiatus if you didn’t already.

I've always been curious - what are your favorite ships?

under the cut bc its rambly and No One Cares about my old ass fandoms that were seasonal for most people but stuck with me for some reason and also to maybe avoid showing up in searches/tags for the rare person looking for Content

i guess the most Hardcore ive ever shipped is mcreyes (yes, overwatch i know), they consumed me with a rage that pretty much burned me out of fandom (tho i still ship it, i just literally never found anyone that sees them the same way i do - non-fanon compliant it is for me). along with them i also have somva and widowana and of course shimadacest, its just the Polycule living in my head [i guess i should point out i broke up w canon after the like first year of development ie after the great retconning so i neither know nor care whats happening there, these characters are basically (schrodinger's) ocs at this point]

the other fandom i am Too invested in is, tragically, dragon age, which i still sorta indulge in some Canon for (i apologize for whats likely going to happen to this blog once the next game comes out lmao). My ships there are mostly OC/canon, as the games sorta lead into. Anora/Zevran/Cousland (and cousland/loghain, and cousland/fergus...); Carver/Hawke/Isabela (/qp!Anders) [well and just some good old hawke/anders really], and Dorian/Trevelyan/Blackwall (/qp!Vivienne) are my mains.

dragon age leads to mass effect, where i fell head over for shakarian which i will fight for to my last breath i do not give a fuck. and also ashlaw wich i literally had to invent a shipname for cuz nobody else cares about it lmao (ashley and miranda if anyone even knows the franchise here lol)

i think more obvious is my love for star wars, i ship just the entire pentacule in the prequels/clone wars - obi/ani/padme/ahsoka/sabine. han/leia/luke(/lando?) for the og trilogy and reylo and finn/rose/poe in the new one (tho thanks to fandom im much less invested in finnpoe)

ive been in like a few fandoms that were wild and strong but didnt last - red dead where i shipped john/arthur/abigail; detroit become human where hannor ate my brains. pathfinder and divinity original sin which literally did not have a fandom, but i will tell you i very much ship my mains with amiri/octavia/regongar (in kingmaker) and camellia/daeran (in wotr);. in divinity Lohse/Sebille and Fane/Ifan are the other polycule plaguing me. oh and pillars of eternity with devil of caroc/maneha/PC tho i eventually ended up pairing up aloth w my pc in deadfire

real talk tho, the most recent thing close to an Obsession is fucking league of legends (yes i know) where its swain/darius/draven; yasuo/yone/taliyah; kayn/zed; and some good old lucian/senna. i mean you've seen the TF/Graves art this shouldnt be a surprise lol

and yeah in Arcane its silco/jinx/vi/vander

But mostly lately ive been merrily making DnD OCs and playing Rimworld which allows for amazing characters so it's kinda OC season i guess

oh and as an end to this rant which everyone gave up on reading im sure - i'll leave you with the fact that what got me into real fandom communities was itasasu (/saku and/or karin sometimes) and wincest (/jack) has been a latent interest even tho spn has never been high on my interests list so do with that what you will lol
