for as long as you could remember, you were always in dina's shadow.
despite you being the youngest daughter, dina was your parent's pride and joy. she was the smartest and prettiest daughter, who never failed to win the family's attention.
dina was the 'perfect' daughter in your parent's eyes. she followed in mom's footsteps and won prom queen 3 years in a row and was crowned 1st place as miss wyoming since she was 14 in the annual pageant every year. last year, she got accepted to yale university with the intention of going to law school and becoming a criminal lawyer just like father.
your parents were set on having two extremely intelligent daughters who attended ivy league colleges and strived for an above-average career like an award-winning surgeon or a ground-breaking research scientist.
but that wasn't you. at all.
from a young age, you were always attracted to art — such as sculptures, paintings, murals, and various types of music. you had a keen eye for things more abstract, which always set you apart from your own family.
sure, math and science were subjects that came easily to you, and you had no difficulty with keeping straight A's at school, but you always knew you wanted to do something different than what was set for you.
despite being the black sheep of the family, you did find yourself envying dina. she had the bigger room, nicer clothes, a car, and always got money whenever she asked mom and dad for it. it was hard not to be jealous.
especially since she started bringing ellie williams around.
dina met ellie during her freshman year at yale, and the two hit it off. they officially became a couple this summer, and with the approval of our parents, ellie followed dina back home and agreed to stay the entire summer with her and the family.
from the first moment you met ellie, you were smitten.
it was the first week of summer, and you were relishing in all the much-needed vacation time, knowing by the time summer was over, you would be on your way to los angeles for college.
you were relaxing in bed with your copy of 'pride & prejudice', reading it for probably the 70th time. from your bedroom, you can hear a car pulling up in the driveway followed by your mother's loud voice yelling "welcome home!!", and then slamming car doors. getting up from your comfortable position, you drew the linen curtains to the side and took a peek out your window, down at the driveway.
from above, you could see mother taking dina in her arms, giving her a hug and placing a kiss on her forehead.
your eyes drift to father, and to the girl he was shaking hands with.
she was unlike anyone you've ever seen. her short brunette hair was cut short, hanging right at her neck in the style of a mullet. her slender arms revealed one tattoo on her right forearm that was visible underneath the folded flannel layered over a plain white t-shirt.
she held this charming aura about her, evident by how your father let out a hearty laugh as he gently nudged her on the shoulder. this woman must've been impressive because it was a rarity to see your father laugh, let alone when first meeting someone.
as dina grabbed the girl's hand to drag her inside the house, her eyes flickered up toward you, lingering on you for a little too long.
-
"so, ellie, tell us. what are you studying at yale?" your father's deep voice resonated throughout the dinner table.
"ugh, daaaad, please. no more interrogating my girlfriend," dina groaned out, "you're gonna scare her away, and we've only been together a month!"
"i was just asking a question, sweetie. no need to fret," your dad interjected as he took another bite of chicken.
ellie cleared her throat before putting her fork down, "uh, i'm actually in a computer science program— i'm in the works of developing my own software."
father's eyes widened, "wow! how impressive! what kind of software is it?"
"it's actually a type of software used by government agencies to store highly classified government documents, sir," ellie added, "it keeps unverified users locked out of the servers so they don't access the documents unless they recognize the IP address, and the software reports any unknown addresses back towards us to be monitored for criminal activity."
your ears would usually tune out the boring conversations held at the dinner table, but you couldn't help but be completely absorbed in everything ellie was saying and it only left you wanting to know more.
"how exciting! glad dina found someone who's doing something significant with their life," your father complimented, "unlike our youngest."
"such a shame. you graduated top of the class this year, yet you want to attend art school." your father's eyes bore into the side of your face as you pretended not to notice his words, distracting yourself by poking at the cold piece of broccoli on the expensive china plate.
"art school is cool too," ellie complimented, "what are you majoring in?"
you picked your head up, surprised by ellie's sudden interest in your studies. you were used to everyone else asking about dina and talking about dina and would compare you to dina. it was exhausting.
"um— fine arts. i'm also minoring in graphic design," you managed to squeak out, tucking a piece of hair behind your ear.
"and what are you planning to do with that, young lady?" your dad prodded in his signature stern voice, "you're 18 years old, almost 19, you have to start thinking about your future seriously."
you take the glass of water, and take a sip from it, suppressing that urge to cry from his words, "okay, father."
your mother places a hand on your dad's shoulder, attempting to calm him down, "honey, not at the dinner table."
he doesn't say anything else, and continues eating his dinner, whereas you lost your appetite a long time ago, and are no longer feeling in the mood to be around your family for another second.
the fork falls from your hands, creating a clinging sound against the ceramic dish. "may i be excused?" you tremble, ignoring the burning gaze from the brunette's eyes. you couldn't put into words the humiliation you felt at this moment, and you couldn't bear to look at dina's mocking smirk or at ellie's pitiful stare.
"okay, sweetie. goodnight." your mother murmured. you got up from the chair, and scurried out of the dining room, wanting nothing more but to curl up under your covers and lay in dark silence.
as you ascend up the stairs, you can hear dina continuing the conversation as if nothing ever happened, laughter and jokes ensuing in your absence.
-
the past two weeks with ellie in the house was an adjustment you had to get used to.
there have been a few occasions where you'd forget to lock the bathroom door, and bam, ellie barges in. luckily, she was a gentlewoman and always covered her eyes even though you were fully clothed. but it was extremely awkward, to say the least.
one morning, you thought the house was empty and took the opportunity to blast your favorite pussycat dolls song and belt out the chorus while shaking your hips around in the living room, only to find ellie looking down at you from the top of the stairs with an amused expression on her face.
needless to say, you put an end to your one-woman concerts and kept them in the privacy of your bedroom.
it was currently 2:45am, and you just wrapped up a painting you started this morning. the house was still and silent, and no one else but you were awake during this time of night.
feeling the gurgle and rumble of your belly, you take off your headphones and tiptoe down the stairs. with your socked feet pitter-pattering on the cold tile of the kitchen, you opened the door to the fridge and scanned the shelves for a tasty late-night snack.
"hmmm...." you hummed, "strawberries and cream might do the trick." you pulled out the bowl of strawberries and a tub of cool whip, and sat down on the tile, opening the lid, and dipping the berry in the creamy topping.
you were about 5 berries deep before you heard a voice clearing their throat, causing you to jump in your spot.
"isn't it a little too late to be eating dessert?" ellie queries. she was in a grey hoodie and plain grey sweatpants with half of her hair tied up. it was evident she probably just woke up, and a part of you felt a little guilty that you possibly were the reason for that.
unable to speak with a mouthful of fruit, you slowly shake your head left and right, eliciting a chuckle from the brunette.
"alright, no judgment here." ellie puts her hands up, "can i join you?"
swallowing the lump of red fruit down your throat, you respond, "sorry, yeah. of course," you hold up the bowl of berries, "want some?"
the girl crouches down and sits next to you on the floor, grabbing a strawberry and dipping it in the cool whip, then taking it all in one bite.
she chews momentarily before shaking her head in satisfaction, "not bad, not bad. never tried this combination before."
"really? i've had this snack for years, ever since i was a little girl," you smile, "it was my dad's favorite snack growing up..."
your voice trailed off as you reminisced about the earlier years when life was easier and you didn't have the pressure of worrying about college or career aspirations. all you and dina worried about was grilled cheeses and finding your bratz doll's missing feet.
ellie spoke again, "were you close with your dad growing up?"
you bit your lip, the sweet taste of strawberry and whipped cream present upon the skin, "yeah. we were," you laughed dryly, "we used to watch those cheesy law and order SVU shows all the time."
"yeah?"
"mhm," you hummed, "they were always entertaining to me. he thought that it'd eventually influence me to become a lawyer like him. he always said that we'd become the dynamic duo or whatever and that we'd kick ass in court."
ellie sat intently, watching you, listening to you as you told her this memory. from the moment she first met you when she got here, she knew you were quite the opposite of dina. dina was type A. she was occasionally uptight, a bit boring, and not really fit for ellie. ellie was chill and was a 'go by the flow' person, which was one thing dina hated about her. don't get her wrong, ellie liked dina, and she liked how dina was funny and smart, but she didn't really see them lasting long-term.
it was shitty. it was shitty how ellie didn't see herself being with dina for that long, and it was worse that ellie didn't have the guts to tell her.
but, for her own selfish reasons, ellie didn't want to tell dina, not yet anyways. she gravitated toward you and often found herself staring at you for a little too long during meals at the table and thinking about what you were doing in the next room over while dina was cuddled up in her arms.
ellie knew this was a bad idea. she could not get attached to her girlfriend's sister. it was nothing but a recipe for disaster.
but ellie was only human. she couldn't help her ever growing curiosity.
"you didn't want to be a lawyer?" ellie asked.
you shook your head, "hell, no. looks stressful and boringgggg," you sang out.
ellie laughed, "yeah, can't disagree with you there. dina tells me it involves lots of reading."
"yea, i'm good." you giggle, "what about you? have you always known that you wanted to work with computers 'n stuff?"
"i guess. i was always a 'nerd' and all that bullshit. loved watching sci-fi movies and shows and i'm also a huge gamer so—" ellie began, "i can't imagine myself not doing anything else other than techie shit."
you nod, putting another cream-covered berry in your mouth, "that makes sense. at least you're passionate about what you do."
"yeah, i guess," ellie snacks on another strawberry, "how 'bout you? you're an artist?"
you cover your mouth to muffle a laugh, "i wouldn't call myself an artist. but i do love painting. it's all i ever want to do."
"then it wouldn't be too much if i could ask to see some of your art."
your eyes widen, and you nearly choke on the fruity snack. "what?" your voice almost comes out sounding shocked.
"yeah, i mean, i'd love to see some of your stuff," ellie looked toward you with a sly smile.
"um, no," you laugh, "my parents haven't even seen some of my work."
you were hesitant to show anyone any of your artwork, and only allowing your best pieces to be kept in the security of your personal portfolio, only to be viewed by colleges for applications and such.
"aww, c'mon. i wanna see."
you huff, "maybe."
ellie smirked, "i'll take what i can get," she continues, "besides, think of me as....an art critic."
you let out a giggle, "oh yeah?"
the night progresses and you and ellie get lost in conversation, talking until 4am about life and whatnot. ellie was an easygoing person to talk to. she never seemed to judge you for any of your own opinions, and it felt like she was actually interested in what you had to say. it felt like you've known her for years, even though it's only been a matter of weeks.
you could already see the rays of orange peeking up from the navy, blue sky. it was already early morning.
"we should probably head back upstairs," you suggest, nodding your head towards the window, "the sun's gonna rise....and dina'll wake up soon."
it was like clockwork. dina woke up every morning at 6:30 am, never earlier nor later. you definitely did not want her to catch you and ellie here, alone and together.
for a moment, ellie forgot that she was here with dina. it was fucking terrible and she felt guilty, but she really liked spending the night talking with you and she knew she needed to do it again.
"uh— no, yeah, of course," ellie stood up first, holding out a hand to help you up next.
you took her warm hand in yours and hoisted yourself up until you were stable on your feet.
"thanks," you murmur.
"yeah, no problem."
ellie didn't pull her hand away, and neither did you. it was like your hands were two pieces of a puzzle, fitting perfectly in the spaces of each other's fingers.
realizing what was happening, you quickly pulled your hand away from hers, "uh—"
"fuck, sorry," ellie stammered, "i'm getting— um— awfully tired."
good excuse, ellie thought to herself.
"it's fine, no worries. let's head upstairs," you lead the way up toward the stairs with ellie alongside you. you stop in front of your bedroom door and ellie stops in front of dina's, her hand lingering on the doorknob.
"yeah?"
"um— just wanted to say goodnight, ellie." you smile at her, and she returns the favor.
"goodnight." ellie whispers, and you both head inside.
with dina still fast asleep, ellie crawls into bed next to her. she pulls the blanket close to her body, and turning away from her sleeping girlfriend, a small smile makes its way across her face as her mind drifts to you and how you were just a few feet away, a wall being the only thing separating you both.
and as you crawl into the comfort of your own bed, you couldn't help the wide smile that curls upon your lips as you thought about ellie, and how badly you wanted to talk to her again, ignoring the fact that she was probably laid up against your sister's body, holding her close.
it was an unfortunate thing — the slow formation of the connection between two people who were right for each other but were bound by the fate of knowing deep inside the chance of them being together was just not a possibility.
-
ellie could not get herself to fall asleep. she's been here for weeks, yet found herself tossing or turning in bed, never sleeping soundly for more than 3 hours at a time.
it happened again tonight. she fell asleep at 11:00pm, and here she was, wide awake at 3:00am.
she never knew how dina could do it— how she could make her body sleep at the same time, and stay asleep until morning.
ellie blamed it on the idea that her body wasn't adjusted to being at dina's house with her family. she thought that spending her summer vacation with dina's family would be fun and that it would be a good getaway from all the stress at school.
but ellie fucking hated your dad. from the first night she met him, she hated how he talked down to you. he was an asshole. it was obvious to ellie that he favored dina, and she knew it was only because she was following the same career path he was on. ellie didn't agree with how he felt about you at all, and desperately wished she could say something to him, but she thought it'd be best to not interfere...for now.
sighing, ellie took the covers off and quietly walked towards the door, slowly opening it and gently closing it.
she didn't know what the hell compelled her to walk over to your bedroom door, but before she had any time to even consider her actions, her fist planted three soft knocks on the surface.
ellie thought you must've been fast asleep by now, but a small part of her hoped that you would still be awake.
you swung your bedroom door open, unsure who would be knocking on your door at this hour, but was relieved to see it was ellie, "oh, hey."
ellie's eyes trailed up and down your body, taking you in and letting her eyes rake over the way your sleep shirt hangs loosely off your shoulder and how your cotton shorts stop mid-thigh.
she had to force her eyes back up on your face, and she was beating herself up for even letting her look at you that way, like a piece of meat.
"uh- er- sorry, i was just—" ellie stuttered, "i couldn't sleep."
you nod slowly, and step aside to let her inside your room.
god, this was such a bad idea.
after letting her inside, you close the door and lock it. walking back over towards your bed, you plop down on the mattress as ellie awkwardly stands in the middle of your room.
"you can sit down, you know," you giggle, and ellie shrugs and chooses to sit on your swiveling desk chair.
silence fills the air for a moment before ellie speaks up first.
"were you busy?"
you shake your head, "nope, was just reading a book."
"ahh, okay," ellie was silent for a moment before speaking again, "sorry again, for uh— bothering you."
"you didn't bother me," you laugh, "i'm usually up around this time anyways, jus' doing whatever."
ellie nods and turns the chair to face your desk where she sees your black leather sketchbook. her fingers open the book to a random page, and it was a sketch of a cat napping on a window sill in incredible detail.
the sound of pages flipping caught your attention, and you immediately jump to your feet as the realization hits you.
"hey! my sketchbook!" your hands quickly try to snatch the book from her hands, but ellie was faster, and got up and held the black book up and out of your reach. to your loss, ellie had the advantage of being a couple inches taller than you were, which made it extremely difficult for you to get to your book.
"these are amazing! let me just look through them a little bit longer—" ellie says, flipping through the pages of all the sketches you made, "holy shit— is that— is that me?"
your eyes grow wider, and you could feel the sweat seeping out of your pores, "give that back!"
you jump and try to grab the book, but ellie has this annoying smirk on her face as she holds the book high above her head, knowing you wouldn't be able to grab ahold of it due to your shorter stature.
"ugh, seriously?" you whine, flushing red in embarrassment, feeling like she just read an extremely personal section of your diary. in a way, your sketchbook was your diary.
"let me take a picture of my sketch and i'll give it back to you, deal?" ellie attempted to negotiate with you, but you narrowed your eyes at her, really not wanting her to have any evidence of your sketch at all. but she doesn't seem like the type to take no for an answer.
luckily, you were quite the trickster yourself. it's a youngest child thing.
you huff, "fine."
ellie smiles with pride, and as she lowers her arm to put the sketchbook down, you act fast and seize the book. but before you succeed, ellie snatches it back, and suddenly she's falling back onto your bed. you fail to steady yourself, following suit and landing on top of her, your forehead thumping against hers.
"ouch."
both of your eyes meet, and for a second, everything stands still. you and ellie don't move, afraid that whatever happens next, it'll end up with you both in a compromising situation.
"i— uh—" you sputter, "sorry." you quickly scramble up to your feet, getting off of her, and standing back to create some distance.
the absence of your body made ellie feel cold, but she pushed that feeling to the side and stood on her own two feet, handing you your sketchbook.
"thanks," you take the book from her hands and stuff it in the top left drawer of your dresser, where it usually is anyways.
"you know, those were really good," ellie mutters, scratching the back of her neck, "especially the one of me."
heat rises to your face once again, "it was from the day i saw you in the driveway— when you first got here with dina."
she nods, "i can tell, 's really good though. i swear."
you blush, "thanks," you think of something quick to change the subject, wanting to stray away from your sketch of her, still reeling in the embarrassment of her finding out.
"wanna watch the office?"
4:58am
you know what? imitation is the most sincere form of flattery, so i thank you.
"god, i love dwight so much, dude," ellie laughs, throwing a chip in her mouth as she watches jim's character pull out the bobblehead and place it on his desk.
identity theft is not a joke, jim! millions of families suffer every year!
michael!
oh that's funny— michael!
you let out a sleepy giggle, cuddling your pillow. you and ellie had been on your bed with the show playing on your laptop for an hour already, while she munched away on a bag of chips you had in your room.
ellie turned her head to check on you, and she could tell by your heavy eyelids that you were about to knock out in any second, "you sleepy?"
"mhm," you manage to hum out.
she smiles, in awe at your cute, sleepy state.
"go 'head and sleep. i'll finish up this episode and let myself out when it's over," ellie murmurs. she unfolds the blanket that was sitting at the edge of your bed and places it over your body.
"you sure?" you ask, nearly half asleep.
"mhm. i'll be gone by the time you wake up." but you knew you didn't want ellie to be gone when you woke up and ellie didn't want to go either.
as the show continues to run, you close your eyes and fall into slumber.
you weren't sure what woke you up, but you did. you hear the sound of 'the office' theme song playing, causing you to stir slightly, but you were surprised by the pressure present around your waist.
you sit up a bit, and you see ellie fast asleep, with her arm wrapped tightly around your waist, spooning you.
you look at the clock next to your bed and read the time: 6:23 am.
the air is sucked out from your lungs. dina is gonna be up soon.
"ellie! wake up!" you whisper quite loudly in her ear, shaking her awake. she doesn't wake up, and just groans, pulling you back to hold you again.
ignoring the butterflies going rampant in your belly, you attempt to wake her up again, "ellie! please, wake up," you shake her arm, "dina's gonna wake up in any minute."
ellie's green eyes open, and for a moment she's glad it's your face she sees when she wakes up, until the realization dawns on her.
"shit, shit, shit," ellie curses, getting off your bed and standing up, "i have to go."
and she exits your bedroom, leaving you alone in your bed only with the memory of waking up in her arms.
as ellie slowly and quietly enters dina's bedroom, she's relieved by the sight of dina's body still fast asleep. she gets back in bed and turns away from her, trying to calm her fast heart rate down.
on cue, dina's alarm clock goes off at 6:30 am sharp. ellie can feel dina turning and shutting off her alarm clock, and then she scootches closer and wraps her arms around ellie's body, planting a kiss on her cheek.
"morning, babe," dina whispers, and ellie shuts her eyes, pretending she's still asleep.
ellie lets out a mumbled 'morning' sounding groan and nestles her face into the pillow. she feels dina get up from bed and head into the bathroom to begin her morning routine, leaving ellie alone, wishing she had you wrapped up in her arms instead.
-
two days had gone by and you barely talked to ellie, sharing nothing but longing glances and brushes of fingers when you handed her a plate during meal times.
you didn't purposely intend to avoid ellie, but your mother had filled your agenda with errands for your 19th birthday party this weekend. you had to go talk to the caterers, talk to the florist, get fitted for a dress, buy new shoes, send out invitations— it was all so tedious and tiring, but you didn't want to make your mother upset by disappointing her.
the contractors were currently setting up the house with decorations and such for the party, and ellie was outside in the backyard with father, helping the rest of the workers set up a stage and other things needed.
you hated hot days, especially ones like these, where the air was scorching and dry. but you couldn't complain today, ellie was in a tight, white tank top showing off her muscular biceps and arms. you couldn't help but stare a little longer, trailing your eyes over the beads of sweat that would roll down her neck.
thank god for hot days like this one.
"honey, will you please do me a favor and bring out this tray of refreshments to everyone outside please?" your mother handed you a tray of cold drinks and fresh fruit.
"of course," you smooth out your sundress and take the tray from her hands, walking out of the kitchen and through the open doors leading to the backyard patio.
you walk over toward where they were working and set down the tray, "here are some cold drinks everyone."
your father and the workers mutter a quick thank you and take the offerings, sipping on the chilled drinks and talking amongst themselves.
however, what ellie needed wasn't a cold refreshment or a fruity snack. in fact, the only thing she could think of that would help ellie in this heat right now was you.
she couldn't tear her eyes away from the way your tits looked, the way the fabric hugged the soft, pillowy flesh. she definitely couldn't look away when you walked back towards the house, only wishing she can run her hands over the smooth skin of your thighs, grabbing on your ass.
the way you made ellie sweat was incomparable to the sun's radiating heat.
"excuse me, i'm gonna use the bathroom," ellie muttered, making her way back inside the house.
as you neared the kitchen, you overhear your mother's conversation with dina.
"yeah, we'll be leaving a little early. i have stuff to do back on campus," dina's voice remarks.
"oh, that's too bad. i really like having you both here," your mother pouts, "when are you and ellie leaving?"
"the day after the party," dina replies, "it'll give us time to rest and pack up."
your heart sank in your chest. ellie was leaving? and so soon?
you ran back inside the house, jogging up the stairs, not wanting dina or your mother to see the tears watering in your eyes.
"sweetie? you okay?" your mother yells out from the kitchen.
"uh, yeah! just need to get something from my room!"
you make a bee-line to the bathroom and shut the door behind you, looking at your reflection in the mirror, and letting yourself break down in tears.
something like this was bound to happen. you knew ellie wouldn't stay here forever, and you would be leaving for college. but why did this hurt so bad?
you hear the bathroom door open, and you quickly wipe your eyes.
"e-ellie?"
the brunette was surprised to see you in the bathroom at first, knowing you did have a habit of leaving the door unlocked sometimes, but that all went away and concern washed over her as she noticed your tear-filled eyes and red, stuffy nose.
"hey, hey, hey," she whispers as she takes a few steps toward you, "what's wrong?"
you blink a couple times, a tear falling down your cheek. you hesitated to answer her question.
"you know you can tell me anything, right?" ellie coos, her hands soothingly rubbing up and down your arms.
you nod, and bite your lip, thinking of how to word your response correctly, "d-dina said you both were leaving after my b-birthday."
ellie softens and an evident look of disappointment appears on her face, "yeah, we are."
you wipe your nose, looking up at her with glossy eyes, "it feels like you just got here and— and—" you sniffle, "you're leaving already."
ellie's heart soars understanding that you were upset because she was leaving. "i know and i'm sorry," she snakes her arms around your waist, pulling you close to her, "i wish i met you sooner."
ellie wished she met you first, she would actually have a chance at giving you both a shot without the guilt of betraying dina.
you bury your face into her shirt, the scent of her perfume wafting in your nostrils. god, there was just so much to do and so little time.
you pull your head back to get a good look at her face, to memorize her features, and sear them into your brain.
your eyes fell to her lips, and before you could even form a single thought, you leaned forward and pressed your lips against hers.
ellie instinctively pulled you closer by your waist, kissing back, moving her lips slowly with yours.
you slowly try to pull away from her lips, but she brings you back in for more, her grip on your waist never releasing.
"ellie," you breathe out, but it comes out sounding more like a moan, "w-we can't," you whine, "d-dina's here."
fuck. she stops, and pulls away from your lips, leaning her forehead against yours for a brief moment.
ellie plants a small kiss on your forehead, before letting you go and exiting the bathroom, leaving you alone once again.
-
"happy birthday, dear," the lady greets, leaning to give you a kiss on your cheekbone, "19 is such a fun age, don't take advantage of it, alright, hun?"
"sure," you hum, smiling back as the lady retreats back to the party, getting lost in the sea of people.
you had no idea who she was. actually, you didn't know a lot of the people here. a bunch of them were your father's associates from the law firm, some of your mom's book club members, and dina's friends from high school.
it was your birthday party, but your parents never turned down the idea of hosting a celebration if it was an excuse to mingle and network.
you head upstairs toward the balcony and step outside to the cool, summer night, leaning against the railing. you took a deep breath in, briefly closing your eyes in an attempt to gather your thoughts and clear your head.
"not enjoying the party?"
the sound of the voice causes you to spin in your spot, and you're met with ellie standing at the doorway. she was dressed in a white, collared dress shirt that was slightly unbuttoned at the top, with black slacks. her hair was down, in her signature mullet. you could tell she'd been drinking, as her eyes appeared dazed and she seemed more relaxed.
"uh— it was getting hot and stuffy in there," you tore your eyes away from her, "i just needed some air."
ellie sauntered over, standing next to you and placing her arms against the rail. her eyes raked over your body, drinking in how absolutely gorgeous you looked in your dress.
"you look beautiful tonight."
heat rose to your cheeks, and luckily the blush you wore today camouflaged the deepening crimson fading on your cheeks, "thanks."
"you always look beautiful, but you know, it's your birthday tonight and i had to remind you."
it was possible that ellie's words just fell from her lips because she was slightly inebriated, but it was true. ellie thought you were the most beautiful thing this earth could offer. you were the closest thing to heaven on earth.
but ellie couldn't have you, and without you, she was in her own personal hell.
you cleared your throat, attempting to wave off the tension in the air, "are you enjoying the party?"
she shrugged, "yeah, it's okay. i mean— dina's been introducing me to all your dad's friends and shit, trying to show me off like some kind of fuckin' trophy or something." she lets out a harsh laugh, "have you met my girlfriend ellie? she's a computer science engineer at yale! she's already done work for google and apple! isn't that so cool?"
ellie mocks dina's voice, and you can tell she has this slight bitterness to her. but you couldn't blame her for how she felt, dina only cared about the superficial things.
"oh...i'm sorry," you turn your head to face the view, "she's always been like that. trying to compete with everyone else and prove that she's better."
"yeah, i fucking hate that."
silence falls between you two again, and the elephant in the room couldn't be more obvious. it's been two days since the kiss in the bathroom occurred, and neither of you had even acknowledged it since then.
ellie would occasionally find herself thinking about the way your lips molded onto hers, and how she'd risk her relationship with dina just to experience it one more time. hell, she'd break up with dina.
it was hard for you to think about ellie without having the guilt bubble in your belly. you couldn't get ellie out of your head at all, and frequently spent those late nights fantasizing what it'd be like to be in dina's position, as ellie's girlfriend.
but, those feelings of shame always came to the surface and you tried to suppress them, pushing them into the dark corners of your mind, but as the day's progressed, it got harder and harder to do.
even being next to ellie made your body feel like it was on fire, and the urge to kiss her again was coming full throttle. you had to leave before you did something you both would regret.
"umm, i'll see you down there," you quickly sputter out before turning your heel to leave, but you felt ellie's hand grip your arm, stopping you.
"wait."
you force yourself to look at ellie, and your eyes connect with hers. your heart rate picked up, and suddenly the oxygen left your lungs. it was insane how one person could make you feel like this— like you could die if you were to let go.
"i—" ellie was about to let her heart speak for herself, and she was going to tell you everything. she was going to put her heart on the line and risk everything, for you."
"ellie! elllieee! where are yo— oh! there you are!" dina appeared at the doorway, a wide smile on her face as she finally found ellie. "where were you? i have to introduce you to this guy who works for this video game company! come on!"
before ellie can say anything, dina grabs her arm and drags ellie away.
the party happened and ended. you blew out your candles and cut the cake, and soon enough all the people left by midnight. dina was fast asleep on the couch in the living room downstairs, as the expensive, bubbly champagne had officially defeated your older sister.
your parents were asleep. dina was asleep. the only two people awake in the house was you and ellie, a deadly combination.
ellie was in the next room, intoxicated, and thinking about what her next moves were. she was leaving tomorrow and she knew that soon enough that you would be leaving for los angeles too, for college.
the thought of you possibly meeting someone new during college made her skin burn. ellie wanted to be that person for you, to be the one who made you laugh, to be the one who you called at the end of the day to tell her all about what happened in class, to be the one who gave you butterflies and made your heart flip.
fuck it, ellie thought, and the next thing she knew she was walking to your room and knocking on your door.
you swung the door open, and ellie swore she could've died and gone right to heaven. you were still in your birthday dress, but your hair was down, and you just looked like the most beautiful thing she'd seen in a long time. it was impossible that you were a real person.
"....ellie?" you spoke softly, and the sound of your voice knocked her out of her thoughts.
"huh? yeah— uh— fuck. sorry," ellie stammered, "can— can i come in?"
"sure."
you could smell the mixture of whiskey and her sandalwood perfume radiating off her body, and it was an addicting combination. you just wanted to bury your face in her neck and sniff her, as creepy as that did sound.
you sit down on the edge of your bed, crossing your legs, and ellie leans against your wall, with her hands stuffed in the pockets of her black slacks. she was still in her outfit, but the top of the buttons of her shirt were opened much wider, revealing a bit of skin.
silence falls in the room, and there was tension in the room. the room was beginning to feel humid and hot, and a small bead of sweat rolled down your temple.
ellie's eyes raked over you in your little dress, and how the dress bunches up just enough for her to get a peek of the sweet skin of your inner thighs, a paradise she's been dreaming of.
she wasn't sure if it was the little bit of alcohol still left in her system, but she could feel that familiar heat bubble in her core, making her feel even hotter.
"so, i was thinking, and i realized that i didn't say 'happy birthday' to you," ellie spoke softly, "i didn't even get you a gift."
your eyes widen, and you let out a small laugh, "it's fine, don't worry about it."
"nah, you've been so good to me, and— i mean— the least i could do is buy you something or take you out for dinner when me and dina come back for winter break."
your smile falters. when me and dina come back. the words echo throughout your head. me and dina. come back.
shaking your head, you try your best to respond without choking up, "i-it's okay..."
"what? don't be ridiculous-"
you cut her off, "it's f-fine, ellie," you breathe out, "i'm gonna head to bed now."
a pang hits ellie in the chest, and a look of hurt washes over her. "w-what? but i-"
you couldn't contain the jealousy that simmered in your belly, and it was partly due to the specialty cocktails you had tonight. you just had to have a midori sour.
"you and dina have to leave early tomorrow," you spat, with venom dripping off every word. it was enough to be noticed by ellie, and she received your message.
ellie doesn't say anything and her mind whirls in search of the words she wants to say.
after a few seemingly long minutes, she speaks up, "i think i'm gonna break up with dina."
your head snaps in her direction, your expression in utter disbelief, "what?"
ellie nods, "yeah."
"but, why?" you ask, "dina loves you and my family loves you—"
"dina is not who i want to be with."
you freeze, and your heart skips a beat.
"who do you want to be with?" you had an idea of who, but you played dumb, eager to hear her say the words.
"you."
time stops, and suddenly, everything feels like it's frozen in time, and the only two things that were present were you and ellie. for a moment, you let yourself imagine how things would be if she did break up with dina and went with you instead. of course, you would be over the moon being ellie's girlfriend, but at what cost?
dina would surely hate you if she already didn't and she'd make your life a living hell. and your parents? your dad would think you were a bigger disappointment, especially for ruining his perfect daughter's relationship.
you and ellie would face ultimate backlash, and wouldn't be on the receiving end of support from those close to you.
it pained you to think about it, but you had to be realistic.
"ellie......" you whispered, your voice coming out slightly strained, "i don't think we could be together."
ellie shakes her head, "we can. i'll break up with dina and— and— we'll have a long distance relationship and we'll come back—"
"and we'll be here? together? in front of dina and my parents?" you cut her off, hurt evident in your voice.
her demeanor faltered, and she was quiet for a moment. ellie understood your point of view, and how it'd be difficult to continue a relationship with her ex-girlfriend's sister.
"just stay with her."
ellie sighed, "no, even if we can't be together, there's no way i'm going to stay with her. no fucking way."
"but—"
"no. i don't want to be with her," ellie comes closer to where you were, causing you to stand on your feet and back up, "everyone is talking about how everyone else would feel. what about me? i can't fucking stand not being with you. you think i enjoy thinking about you while i lay with dina? do you even understand how hard it is for me to just look at you? do you know what you do to me?"
you feel the cool surface of the wall press on your skin as you were backed up against the wall. she had you cornered and you couldn't do anything about it, and a small part of you enjoyed this.
ellie's voice is low and raspy, "do you have any idea how much i think about you? having you as mine? thinking about the things i would do to you?"
you swallow hard, and you shake your head left to right, "ellie, you're just d-drunk."
she shakes her again, "i'm not. i'm one hundred percent sober."
"you're talking nonsense—" you try to convince her, but deep down inside, this was you trying to convince yourself.
"why can't you just face the fact that i want you?"
"because you're dating my sister!" the tone of your voice shocks the brunette.
"i can't— i can't have these feelings for you," you breathe out, "you're with dina."
ellie closes her eyes at the mention of her name, and again, silence fills the space.
"then let's forget about her, okay? for one night, i just want to forget about her," ellie whispers, "all i wanna focus on is you."
you search her face, and you bite your lip, actually contemplating the idea.
as you and ellie make eye contact, it was then you realize how close she was to you, you can nearly taste her lips if you leaned in further enough.
and in a swift move, ellie presses her lips against yours, pushing you against the wall. her hands cup your cheeks, kissing you with a sense of urgency and passion.
she takes control, and pushes her tongue in between your lips, roaming around in your mouth, eliciting a mewl from the back of your throat.
ellie's hands move to the back of your neck, and wrapped up in each other's lips, you both continue your way over to your bed, falling onto the mattress.
you pull away for a brief moment to flip her over, straddling her and sitting on her thighs.
ellie bunches your dress around your hips, fully exposing your thighs for her enjoyment. her cold hands send a shudder up your spine as they make their way to your thighs, "so fucking gorgeous."
ellie whispers, and she reconnects her lips against yours, and you couldn't help but grind your core against her, eager for friction as you feel a pool of wetness gather in your panties.
you let out a small whimper against her lips, and ellie grows more greedy, and slides her tongue inside your mouth again. the burning heat forming in your core begins to be harder to control, and you couldn't help but grind your pussy harder against her again.
the brunette smiles against your lips, and she takes hold of your hips, guiding you and placing you securely on her right thigh, "there, baby. grind that pretty fuckin' pussy on my thigh."
desperate for more, you place your arms around her neck for security and begin rubbing your panty-covered pussy against her pants, the fabric providing some friction on your swollen clit.
you couldn't suppress the soft whimpers that leave your lips, and ellie presses her lips against yours, drinking in every single moan that reverberates through your throat. she has you right where she wants you, wet and desperate for her.
"ellie.." your parted lips whine, "want more."
your pleas come out sounding as pathetic moans, and she smirks at the sight of you, eager for more.
"yeah? you want more, baby?" you nod frantically.
the brunette flips you over, takes you off her thigh and lays you on your back. using her knee to part your thighs, her fingers slowly trail down your inner thighs, and she uses her index finger to slide your panties to the side, sliding her finger down the wet slit of your pussy.
"shit," she curses, "so wet for me."
your hips buck up, craving more and more of her touch against your sensitive cunt, "ellie, please."
smirking, ellie pulls down your panties, the damp fabric pooling at your ankles, and she uses two fingers to spread your lips, the wet skin creating a slick-sounding echo throughout the room.
she uses one finger to rub your soaked, swollen clit, drenching her finger with your wetness.
"hmmph," you whimper, gripping her arm tight. ellie takes your lips in hers, muffling your pleading moans with her mouth as her fingers rub agonizing slow circles on your pussy.
she briefly pulls away from your lips, breathing heavily, "god, you're so beautiful when you moan."
ellie continues the circles against your clit, and you grab her wrist, stopping her, "e-ellie, please, i-i want more.."
the brunette pauses and thinks for a moment, "alright, baby, give me a second and wait here."
ellie places a kiss on your forehead, pulling her fingers out of you and quickly hurrying out of your bedroom. seconds later, you hear your door open and you see her come back in with a black strap and a harness.
"do you use that with—"
ellie cuts you off, "no. this one's new."
she takes off her shirt, and her black pants, leaving her in a plain black sports bra and plaid red boxers. she quickly hooks the harness around her hips and attaches the strap.
coming back on the bed, ellie looks at you with soft eyes, "is this okay with you?"
you nod, "yes, it's perfect."
she smiles, and she leans in to kiss you again, this time the kiss being much gentler than the previous one before. her hands make their way down your hips, and taking the hem of your dress in her hands, she slips it off of you.
pulling away, she takes the chance to gaze at your body. there was nothing but absolute adoration in those pools of green.
"you're beautiful, have i told you that?"
"only a couple times," you reply shyly, and ellie smiles, kissing your cheek.
her hands gently part your thighs, and she lines her cock up at your entrance. "we'll start off slow, yeah? you let me know if anything hurts, and i'll stop, baby."
looking up at her with glossy eyes, you nod. ellie takes the base of her strap and slowly slides it inside of your pussy, slowly filling you up.
"oh my god." was all you could muster.
"fuck," ellie curses, "you're so fuckin' wet for me, sweet girl."
filling you up almost completely, she grabs your waist and begins thrusting her hips, the strap easily sliding in and out of your wet pussy.
your eyes roll to the back of your head and you grab onto her arm, your grip tightening around her limb with each striking thrust.
the sound of clapping skin and wet slick fill the room, along with a combination of your soft whimpers and ellie's groans.
"keep your eyes on me, babe, wanna see those pretty eyes as i fuck you," ellie groans out, tilting your chin to look up at her.
how can something so wrong feel so right? she had your legs spread apart, with her strap buried deep inside you as dina slept soundly just downstairs.
it was hard to feel guilty when she was hitting every sweet spot inside you.
ellie leaned her forehead against yours, her thrusts never losing rhythm as you coat the black silicone in your white, cream.
as her strap slides in and out of your pussy, that familiar knot begins to form in your belly, and you feel almost as if you're nearing the edge.
"god, ellie— i think i'm about to cum," you stammer out, feeling your pussy tighten around her cock. ellie's eyes never stray away from yours, wanting to make sure you kept your eyes on her.
"yeah? come on, pretty girl, cum on my cock," she coaxes you, and her words cause that feeling of euphoria to wash over you, as you tip over the edge and writhe beneath her.
"ellie," you cry out, "i-i l-love you, fuck." you whimper out, as your pussy clenches around her, the black plastic strap squelching as your juices drip all over it.
"i love you, baby," ellie groans out, as she does one last thrust inside you, falling over in exhaustion onto the bed.
moments later, ellie gets up and takes the strap off. she cleans you up with a clean, wet rag, and climbs into your bed, the both of you still without clothes.
she drapes the blanket over your bodies, and she pulls you close to her.
"you okay?" she asks.
"mhm, i'm more than okay," you hum.
a comfortable silence falls, and you speak up again.
"i just wish you didn't have to leave tomorrow," you whisper, a stray tear falling down your cheek.
ellie kisses the top of your forehead, and rubs your back soothingly, "me neither, baby."
and you and ellie both fall asleep in each other's arms, just for this one night.
-
you really didn't want to have to see dina and ellie off.
it was sad enough that the girl you were in love with was dating your sister, but for her to go to university almost halfway across the country was something close to heartbreak.
luckily, ellie woke up early and got ready and packed up her things before dina woke up. but unfortunately, you woke up alone.
and for the rest of the morning, you stayed cooped up in your bedroom, not wanting to endure the sorrow of seeing ellie leave.
but she had to.
from your upstairs window, you watched as your father and ellie both began loading up the car with suitcases and other bags.
you didn't even want to say goodbye to her, knowing that the minute you saw her face, you'd burst into tears.
so, you just decided you wouldn't say anything to her at all. it was easier that way and it made a cleaner cut.
you hear a knock on your door, and your mother's head peeks out in your bedroom.
"hey honey," she coos, "come downstairs and say goodbye to ellie and dina."
you sigh and turn your head away from the door, "no, thanks. they'll be good without me."
you hear your mother sigh, and she shuffles into your room, closing the door behind you and sitting next to you on the bed.
"don't you wanna say goodbye to your sister, before she leaves?"
you shrug, "dee will be fine without my goodbye."
and for a moment, your mother is silent.
"well," she begins, "don't you want to say goodbye to ellie?"
you were stumped and you didn't reply.
"after all those late night conversations and such, i think ellie would want you to say goodbye."
your eyes widen in surprise, and you turn to look at your mother. "hold on, you know about that?"
she scoffs, "i may be your mom, but i'm not stupid." she laughs, "i can see things from a mile away, and my motherly intuition is telling me that...you like ellie."
you sigh and tear your eyes away from your mother, feeling ashamed, "i know, and i'm a terrible sister for that."
your mom soothingly rubs your back, "no, that makes you human. you can't help who you get feelings for, hun."
she tucks a piece of hair behind your ear and smiles at you, "ellie is an amazing girl, and i'm glad she realizes how wonderful you are."
tears fill your eyes, and you completely break down. your mom looks at you with sympathy, her heart cracking seeing her daughter experience heartbreak, "i love her, mom."
you let out these muffled sobs, and your mom takes you in her arms, comforting you as you cry.
as soon as you come back, she wipes your tears, and takes hold of your hands, "listen to me, sweetie," she coos, "if you love her, let her go, and if she comes back, she was always yours. but if she doesn't, it was never meant to be."
you laugh a little bit, "ugh, mom, that was corny."
"it is, but it's also true," she says, "which is why i think you need to say goodbye to ellie. life will take you in two different paths, and you'll regret it if you don't say anything."
absorbing her words, you nod and wipe your face with the sleeve of your sweatshirt. you get up from your spot, and hurry outside, nearly sprinting to the driveway, seeing dina already in the passenger seat and ellie about to get in the driver's side.
"wait!" you call out, and ellie's head snaps in your direction, a wide smile curling on her face.
first, you jog over to dina, "bye, dee. have fun at yale and stay safe."
you kept your words short and sweet.
"thanks, kid. go crazy in LA, okay?"
smiling, you nod at her and make your way over to the driver's side of the car, where ellie was standing and waiting.
you stand in front of her and you take a deep breath, before wrapping your arms around her neck and pulling her in for a tight hug.
you take this opportunity to whisper in her ear, only for her to hear, "maybe in the off chance we see each other again, and things are right, we can give us a shot."
"you better stay true to your words, pretty girl, because i plan on seeing you again," you can hear the smile in her voice as her arms wrap around your waist.
before anyone notices the prolonged hug, you pull away from her and stand next to your mom and dad, where you all wave goodbye to them as they pull away and disappear into the road.
maybe in another life, in another time, in another dimension, you and ellie were together.
you would have this big house overlooking the hills, and you'd have this amazing studio with huge windows to paint whatever you wanted and ellie would have her own office, dealing with her own ordeals. you would have a dog running around with a grumpy cat trailing along with them. you and ellie would always end the day with dinner together, and by the end of the night, you would be curled up in her arms and life would be perfect.
but this wasn't another life. for now, you and ellie were just two souls who are merely passing by each other in this lifetime. from strangers to friends, friends into lovers, and strangers again.

STEPDAD!WILLIAM AFTON X READER “CINEMA” - MATURE/DRABBLE [ 2 ]
FNAF | William Afton (stepdad!) x (f) Reader | MATURE Warnings: Family Gathering, Secret Touching. AN: These drabbles are in no particular order and not necessarily related. But they are all Stepdad!WilliamAfton x !StepdaughterReader Universe
Tumblr media
The cinema was dark, the action movie exploding on the screen in front of you. You were on a movie night out with your ‘new’ family. Your heart pounded in your chest as you sat sandwiched between your mother and stepfather, William Afton. Vanessa, your stepsister, sat on William's other side, engrossed in the movie. She still lived with her mom, so you didn’t see her as often.
As the protagonist dodged gunfire on the screen, you suddenly felt a hand on your thigh. You froze, eyes darting to the side to see William's fingers resting just above your knee. He didn't look at you, his attention wholly on the movie. The tension in your body skyrocketed, every muscle tightening as his fingers pressed gently into your skin.
"Can you believe this scene?" he murmured, a smile playing on his lips. Your mother nodded, her eyes fixed on the screen. It was like he wasn't even touching you.
But he was. You felt it.
His hand crept higher, inch by agonizing inch. You bit your lip, fighting the urge to jerk away from him. What if your mother noticed? What if Vanessa saw? You couldn't risk it, so you remained still, a deer caught in headlights.
"Such an incredible stunt," your mother agreed, completely oblivious to your situation. You tried to focus on the movie, tried to ignore the way William's fingers traced patterns on your inner thigh, but it was impossible. Why had you decided to wear a skirt today? Of all times?
Oh, you knew why. You had wanted to impress potential boyfriends. Heading out, even with your family, meant a chance to flaunt yourself. And as a lonely teenager with hormones raging through you, on the crisp of tipping your twenties, you had thought that dressing up like this was the best of ideas. Now you cursed your choice of wear. Because it meant that he could touch you as easily as this. Your breath hitched, and you prayed no one could hear it over the sound of explosions and gunshots.
"Are you okay?" Vanessa asked, leaning past William. Her concern only made things worse, guilt twisting your stomach into knots, but you managed a weak smile.
"Y-yeah, just a little jumpy from the movie," you whispered back. She nodded and returned her attention to the screen.
As the action movie played on, your heart raced for entirely different reasons. William's hand rested on your thigh like a coiled snake, waiting to strike. The feel of his skin against yours made you shudder, but you couldn't escape it. Your mother sat beside you, blissfully unaware. Vanessa's attention was focused on the movie as well. You were trapped.
William's hand moved higher, brushing the hem of your skirt. You held your breath, praying for the movie to end, for some kind of miracle to save you.
"Hey," Vanessa said suddenly, leaning over her father to address you. "Do you want some popcorn or something?"
William's hand retreated at once, like a guilty child caught in the act. You exhaled, grateful for the reprieve. "Oh, right," you whispered, your voice a little shaky. "I’ll have the usual."
"Oh, could you get me a soda?” your mother asked, and Vanessa nodded.
“I could come along,” you offered, stirring to get up. Beside you, William tensed, as if he hadn’t anticipated your action. For a moment, you thought you could escape your stepfather’s advances. Bonding with your stepsister seemed like a much better alternative than staying here and being subjected to this – and all the temptation it brought along with it.
But Vanessa cut your luck down, shaking her head as she moved away. “No, I have this,” she said, smiling kindly. “You just keep enjoying the movie, sis,” and your heart plummeted in your chest.
She was gone before you could get up to follow, and as soon as she left to fetch the snacks, William's hand returned to your thigh, creeping beneath your skirt with a newfound boldness.
"Amazing stunt work in this film, don’t you agree?" he commented casually, striking up a conversation with your mother while his fingers brushed against the delicate fabric of your panties. You clenched your thighs together in a futile attempt to stop him, but it only seemed to spur him on.
"Truly incredible," your mother agreed, completely engrossed in the on-screen action. Her obliviousness drove a spike of fear through your chest.
You tried to focus on the explosions and fight scenes, but every stroke of his fingers against your panties sent electric jolts through your body. He was relentless, smirking as you squirmed in your seat. Your breath hitched, and you prayed no one could hear you over the cacophony of sound from the movie.
"Is everything okay, dear?" your mother asked, finally taking notice of your discomfort.
"Y-yeah," you lied, desperate to keep your secret. "I think I need to, you know… visit the er…”
She nodded in understanding, finally allowing you a chance to get up. William’s hand slipped from between your legs just in time for your mom to notice. You caught sight of the way he wiped his fingers past his pants, not in a way that showed disgust but rather like he wanted to keep it as a treasure.
Startled by the action, you stared down at him. Vanessa returned just in time, her hands full of popcorn and soda. You excused yourself and rushed past them, taking your time in the bathroom and splashing your face with cold water before you returned. As the seat next to Vanessa was empty, you decided to sit next to her, avoiding direct contact with your stepdad.
As the movie continued, your mind raced with a thousand questions. It had become obvious that your stepdad was becoming bold, making moves on you while your mother was there. You realized you were lucky. How much further would he have gone if you hadn't changed seats? That thought sent a whole new shiver down your spine. Because...how much further would he take things?
During the remainder of the movie, you felt his intense eyes upon you. His pleasant conversation with your mom had ceased. And you smiled as you enjoyed your snack.
Let him gawk and be pissed, you thought. You wouldn’t be an easy lay. The old man would have to try harder if he wanted to get his hands on you again. ~

John Lennon always comforted people who were grieving because he knew the feeling so well:
"There was one thing about John Lennon. In his steel-trap mind, he never forget what was important to people. Fast forward to May 1975. I had become an anchorman in Philadelphia, and combined with a radio station, our TV station sponsored what was called the "Helping Hand Marathon", a weekend-long radio fund-raiser to benefit area charities, including the one most important to me, the battle against multiple sclerosis (n/t: Larry Kane's mom passed away in 1964 because of sclerosis). With the help of our sales manager, Gene Vassall, I was able to put together a real coup — John Lennon to cohost the marathon for the weekend. From the time I picked him up at the railroad station to his departure on Sunday night, John was sensitive, giving and tireless. On the phone days ahead of the event, he said "Larry, I know this is being done in memory of your mother. I will make this happen and it will be great, baby!".
ㅡ Larry Kane in the book "Memories of John Lennon" by Yoko Ono.
"I've always admired him, and was very proud of the friendship we had together, and the first time John really showed his love for me was after Stuart's death, when he helped me such an awful lot to try and understand my loss —and his as well — and we used to talk about Stuart, and he really got me together again. He wasn't like Paul or George, who felt really sorry for me, and said "Oh, everything will be fine". John just said — it to me one day when I was really, really down and didn’t know what to do — he said "Well, you have got to decide what you want: Do you want to live or do you want to die? Decide that, but be honest". And that helped me tremendously to go on. And then he said that there are so many things we haven't even discovered yet, and life has got to go on, and you can't sit down and cry all the time, you have got to get on, and if it's not for me, he said, it's for Stuart. And he said that in a very harsh voice, not like nice and sweet, but very directly, so that was the real John who was talking. And that made me really think twice about it. It helped me tremendously. That is what I'm still thankful for (...)"
ㅡ Astrid Kirchherr in the book "Memories of John Lennon" by Yoko Ono.
"While they were there, Lily's father, William White, succumbed to a heart attack at age sixty-seven. Over the past few years, Mal had shared with her how intimidating John could be, so Lil was surprised when the Beatle brought her a cup of tea, let down his guard, and showered her with consolation. Like Mal, Lily would always remember John's tender gesture. 'It's very hard at times like these to give verbal comfort to anybody,' Mal wrote, 'but John was fantastic, and I knew that he gave Lil a lot of comfort in her hour of need — something I have always blessed him for.'"
ㅡ Mal Evans in his diary, from the book "Living The Beatles Legend" by Kenneth Womack.

Chapter 2.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Chapter 1. Thoughts
Chilly spring night. Light wind and rain. It's so fresh outside that the opposite effect appears: you feel as if you are suffocating from excess air. Outside is your favourite smell of wet grass after the rain. Light smile appears on your lips, and you carelessly go out on the porch of your house, looking at the beautiful view in front of you.
At such moments, everything around seems to be a part of you, you feel some kind of connection with nature and this world. Peace, tranquility, two things what you lack in life.
Today was a bad day. Maybe tomorrow will be better? Tomorrow will be the same. And when will it be better? Does this hell have an end?
Your head is filled with bad thoughts. It feels like every day is getting a little worse than the previous one. You never understood why you deserved such treatment from your father. It was as if he was doing everything so that you wouldn't feel like his daughter. He never even called you that. Something bad happened in your family every day, mom and dad always argued, and you always ran into your room in a state of panic, anxiety. What if father does something to her? That's what happened a few years ago. When you called your aunt in tears, begging her to come, because your father broke your mom's leg and beat her to a concussion. You could have been next if your aunt hadn't arrived on time. That evening, the picture of father changed dramatically in your little child's head.
“Father” means something cold, something cruel. The one who can punch, beat, shout, scream. Abuse.
You live with this thought to this day, but the only thing that has changed is that now there is no father anymore. He died a month ago, which was a shock to your whole little family. You hardly remember what happened exactly on the day of his death, but you clearly memorised your mother who cried all night because she knew well that the only one who could work to feed the family was her husband.
And now, because of this husband she cannot find a well-paid job, because he took care to provide her with a serious disability. And you're too young to work, first you must finish school and university.
Your skin was covered with goosebumps, you went back into the house. Passing by mom's room, you made sure that she was asleep and went to your own one.
Tomorrow is another day.
June 22.
“Y/n, breakfast is ready.” you heard mom's voice from the kitchen. Telling her you'd be coming soon, you headed to the bathroom to comb your hair and wash your face.
On the dining table you saw a plate with your favorite breakfast. Pancakes with honey, it couldn't not make you happy. You smiled and sat down opposite your mom. Woman was in a joyful mood.
“Good morning, dear, how did you sleep?” she asked gently, examining your face expression. That's how your conversation started, about everything and nothing at once. She told something about her plans for today, for a week, about her friends, about how one of them gave birth again. You just enjoyed her monologue, sometimes nodding and shaking your head. It was nice for you to see a sparkle in mom's eyes, it was something strange and unique for you, but warming soul. “I absolutely forgot that soon is your birthday!”
“Oh, really? If you hadn't told me, I wouldn't have remembered…” you answered in confusion, fidgeting in your chair and twitching your leg. For some reason, the mention of your birthday made you uncomfortable. Probably because it will be your first birthday without your father. After all, when he was alive, you never really celebrated it. The maximum that was — sweets that your mother gave you in secret from him. You wonder what will happen this time?
“How are we going to celebrate?” Mom asked, smile on her face.
You looked at the floor, nervously fiddling with your shorts. You scratched your head, trying to think of something, but no idea came to mind. Your thoughts are empty again.
“It's your 18th birthday… We need to celebrate it well somehow.” for a second she paused, before looking at you with cheerful face. “Oh… Mr. Afton!”
Your eyes widened in surprise, because after the funeral, your family stopped communicating with Afton family.
“Mom, what are you up to?” you frowned. To be honest, you always got shivers running down your spine from his name, because your last meeting was at that cemetery, on the day of your father's funeral. Memories have entered your mind, forcing you to remember your last dialogue with Mr. Afton.
After the burial itself happened, you ran away from the crowd away. Your heart was racing like crazy, trying to jump out of your chest. You sat down on a wet bench, covering your face in hysterics. Tears streamed down your cheeks, dripping onto a puddle under the bench.
“Young lady,” a low-pitched male voice called you out of hysteria. “Everything is okay? You've been sitting here for hour.”
You opened your eyes and raised your head. Next to you was standing was a tall, middle-aged man with dark brown hair, dressed in black trousers and a jacket. He leaned towards you, holding an umbrella over your head. His face seemed painfully familiar, but because of the hysteria, you couldn't remember who it was.
“Oh god, Y/n? I didn't recognize you, little one. Why are you sitting here all alone?” he smiled broadly as he sat down next to you on the bench, still holding the umbrella for you. “Your mom is looking for you, she's so worried. Her beloved girl is lost.”
You recognised this man. It was none other than William Afton. One of your father's friends, he often came to visit you, and your family also visited him. You were embarrassed by ignoring his questions because you didn't know what to respond. He's been staring at your face the whole time.
“Come on, princess, I see how cold you are.” with these words, he took off his jacket, putting it on your shoulders. “I understand how hard it is for you, honey.”
You haven't received so many nicknames from any men for all your 17 years of life. Never, not once. His voice at some point began to seem more comfortable and soothing. Because of all the surging emotions, you burst into tears again in front of him, no longer hiding your face. William, not wasting a minute, threw umbrella and took you in his arms, so that your face was hidden in his chest. His cold hands stroked your hair, soothing you, calming you. It may have looked strange from out of context, but you really needed support in such hard moment.
“Don't cry, Y/n. You'll be fine, little one.” he talked and talked endlessly, but because of your own tears and sobs, you ignored everything, only burying your nose in his chest more.
“He's the owner of a pizzeria! Do you want to celebrate there? I'm sure he'll give us a discount in honor of such an event.” her smile never disappeared for a second. You were already beginning to doubt at how real her emotions were.
“Are you sure? We don't have much money anyway…”
“Never mind, I want you to finally have the best birthday, dear.” she winked and got up from the table, putting the plates and mugs in the sink.
Your lips curled at the thought of having to see William again.

Sorry this is so loaded!!! This is what my mind does at work 😵‍💫😵‍💫
Why?!
Ellie Williams x Reader • FatherFigure!Joel x Reader
Summary: it was bound to happen sooner or later. I mean Joel slaughtering all the fireflies seven years ago was a pretty hard secret to be kept quiet- but you still wish it never reached Ellie's ears.
Content: death mention, arguments, crying, confrontation, guilt, angst, cliffhanger

You were feeling pretty lonely that morning, Ellie was out on patrol with your friends and due to a nasty sprained ankle you were forced to stay home. So instead of moping in your self pity, you limped out of your house and across the street- knocking on Joel's front door.
"Oh hey kiddo- come in, come in" the old man smiled at you, his arm linking with yours as he helped you navigate through the copious amounts of clutter scattered through his house.
"Me and Tommy were just having a cup of coffee. You want one?" He asked once he'd say you down on the barstool at his kitchen island. "Where'd you find coffee old man? That's shits like liquid gold"
"One. A wise man never tells his secrets. Two. Never call me old again. Three. Do you want some or not?" He quipped the corner of his mouth lifting up into a smirk.
"yes Joel. I would like some coffee"
"what's the magic word?" He raised his brow
"please?"
"Don't torment the poor girl" you heard the sound of Tommy's voice emerge from the attached living room
"Hey Tommy" you greeted the man "Hey kid how's the ankle?"
"Killing me"
"don't be such a baby- could've been broken" Joel interrupted only to be answered swiftly by your middle finger.
"You wound me" he joked.
Joel had been the closet thing to a father you had ever had. You were raised by your mother until you were thirteen, your biological father had been bitten during your mom's pregnancy.
You remember it well, you were eating in the cafeteria- scoffing on beef jerky when Maria (your mom's best friend) entered with two strangers and Tommy.
An older man with dark brown hair and a black and grey speckled beard. And a girl, your age, her messy brown hair tied up in a ponytail. She seemed cool.
It took you a week to build up the courage to talk to the girl. And on the chilly Friday morning, you walked into Jackson's cafeteria wearing a thick winter coat as snow settled into your frizzy hair- determined.
Unlike every other day that week, Ellie was missing- the usual table she frequented occupied by someone else eating their breakfast. Instead you approached your mom, who was chatting to Maria and some other ladies.
You leaned forward and whispered in her ear "The girl isn't here...". The past few days your mom had been encouraging you to chat with the new girl. Everyone knew how quiet and shy you were- you struggled making friends and your mom immediately began willing you to talk to the brunette as soon as you showed interest in becoming her friend.
"Hey Maria-" your mother called, drawing maria out of the conversation she was having with another lady. "Where did the new guy and his daughter go?"
"oh Joel and Ellie? They left- said that they had to go meet someone- Tommy wouldn't elaborate on where. Don't know when they'll be back"
It was three months before they returned. During those three months your mother had suffered a terrible accident. She was out on patrol one day- she was sick with a fever, but was too stubborn to tell anyone. She fainted during a runner attack- giving the infected an easy meal.
Ellie was different when she got back and so we're you- she didn't smile and she seemed more timid, not glaring at anyone who walked past like she did before- instead keeping her head hung and eyes on her feet. Your usual shy demeanor was even more so- you were currently living in a spare room of Maria's house- hiding in your bedroom and not seeing anyone.
Maria did eventually lure you out- a new film was being screened and it was one you'd always wanted to see. It was good- but halfway through the movie a plot twist that hit a bit too close to home (a tragedy stricken death of a parent) you decided you need a breather.
You weren't paying attention to the direction your feet were taking you until the familiar sound of Tommy's voice met your ears.
"What's wrong with you Joel? What the fuck happened to you out there?"
"The fireflies- the cure... It would've killed her-"
A pause.
"What did you do Joel?"
Another pause.
"I saved her."
You peered through the doorway "Saved who?"
"Where's your head at kid?" Joel's gruff voice pulled you out of your head as he put down a steaming mug infront of you.
"Thanks Joel." You took a hesitant sip of the dark liquid, pressing your lips into a thin line in thought- "Do you know when Ells gonna be back from patrol? I need to head back to the couch so she doesn't realize I've moved by myself."
"When did they leave?" Tommy asked leaning against Joel's brown kitchen cabinets. "Two-hours ago ish"
"Well if they're taking the route I think they are- then another two hours"
The three of you fell into conversation, chatting about anything and everything while sipping the liquid gold out of the ceramic mugs.
••••••••••••
Twenty minutes passed- your cup now empty, a stained ring left on the graphite counters behind in it's wake as you observed the conversation happening before you, adding little quips in here and there.
A loud bang startled you, your heart stuttering in suprise as the familiar sound of heavy walking boots hits your ears.
"Kiddo- is that you?"
Ellie stormed in- her face red and blotchy, as tear stains ran down her cheeks. "Why?!" She spoke sternly ,but a small break was still evident in her voice.
"What? Kid, what do you mean 'why?'." Joel asked, approaching Ellie only for her to take an unstable step backwards. "The fireflies. I know about it. Why..? Just-" she paused "why Joel?!"
Joel stood there in silence, looking at his daughter and trying to figure out what to say- Tommy's figure stayed anxiously still, as if he hoped he would blend into the background.
Ellie's eyes wanders towards your sitting frame, analysing you. "Why don't you seem surprised...?" She whispered, eyes begining to well with tears again. You sighed.
"Ells..."
"No. No" she denied- the water that had built up finally spilling from her eyes. "Don't- you knew?"
You stayed silent before hesitantly nodding your head, confirming her suspicions.
Silence had never felt so uncomfortable. Her stare burnt into you, her hands shook and you couldn't decide whether it was due to anger or sadness. "I can't-... I can't fucking believe it..."
Her hand covered her mouth, muffling a sob that slipped through her lips. "You- you let me fall in love with you, while lying the whole fucking time. How could you do that?!?" Her tone was frustrated and confused and God... It broke your heart.
Tommy and joels attention turned to you. You and Ellie had never explicitly told them you were in a relationship, there were rumours of course, but you both valued privacy too much to go around parading your relationship to possible homophobes and bigots that could live in Jackson.
"I'm.. I'm sorry. I just i-" you hesitated.
"you just WHAT!" She yelled, " I have kissed you and trusted you and you kept the most important secret from me... How could you do that?!"
Your voice failed you. So many words wanted to leave your mouth but none of them could. After being met with silence she scoffed, rolling her teary eyes and turning on her heels.
"Don't try and find me. I need time to think..." The sound of rushed footsteps became quieter before another large slam of Joel's front door sounded out again.
Fuck.

Just What I Needed. (1.5)
(Mike Schmidt X F! Reader)
A/N: This is one of the chapters I was talking about. This is how the rest of this story will function too. One chapter of main plot, one flashback!
Chapters: 1, 1.5, 2, 2.5, 3, 3.5, 4, 4.5, 5
(Y/N)’s father was a man with big dreams. He always knew what he wanted, how to get it, and why he wanted it. He knew that he wanted to open a restaurant, something fresh and fun for families. He never much liked children, though, except for one.
It happened early in her life, but she remembered the day her father had opened Freddy Fazbear’s Pizzeria. He came home with the paperwork filed, and a giant smile plastered over his usually dull face. He had picked her small body up and twirled her around the room as he spoke.
“It is done, can you believe it?” He asked her, bundling her body tightly in his arms.
“What’s done? What’s goin’ on?”
“The restaurant,” he said, placing her back down on her feet, chuckling lightly when she faltered out of dizziness. “We’ll open tomorrow. Proud of your old dad, aren’t you?”
“Of course, daddy! Can I come tomorrow?”
Her father lowered himself to his knees, placing a hand on her shoulder while his grin stayed strongly across his features. Before he could answer her, a voice called out from the kitchen.
“(Y/N),” her mother called, voice weak and strained, as if every word sliced through her throat as it came up. Her name echoed slightly on the walls as her mother called again, urging her to come to her.
“Let’s see what your mother wants, hm?” He rose back to his feet, an obvious damper placed on his mood in hearing his wife’s croaking voice.
Her mother eyed the two from her spot by the sink.
She was a cold woman, thin and boney, though it wasn’t just time that had done this to her. Her life, as she found it, was full of compromise. She never wanted children. In her home, they were the inescapable hell that she could only cope with by puffing her thinly rolled cigarettes to keep herself sane.
“Go upstairs, (Y/N).” The filter of her cigarette was stained red by her lips. The grey ash sprinkled slightly on the floor as she placed it back into her mouth.
“Why? I thought I was gonna go with dad–”
“Now, (Y/N). Go to your room.” She put the cig out in the sink, punctuating her sentence with a soft hiss of the ash against the stray water droplets littering the sink.
(Y/N) nodded slowly before walking halfway up the stairs. She stopped and sat, hugging the rail so that she could listen to her parents' conversation.
“Why would you try to take her there?” Her moms voice was quiet and muffled behind the wall, but (Y/N) sat as still as she could, hardly breathing in order to be able to hear everything. “I don’t want her at that fucking restaurant.”
“I can take my daughter wherever I want,” he quickly shot back, car keys clenched in his hand. He felt the grooves of the house key on the ring digging into his palm. “I worked hard, she’ll like it there.”
“Our daughter, William, and no, she won’t. Those monster robots you spend all your time on will scare her.”
“I made them for her, I think I know my daughter well enough to know what she’d like.”
A dry, sarcastic laugh fell from her lips. “Really? You think you know anything about her, about any of these goddamn kids? When’s the last time you were here for more than a few hours?”
“Don’t tell me what I don’t do, I do too much for you, for all of you.” He sucked his teeth and walked away, leaving her in the kitchen. Seeing his daughter still on the stairs, he waved her over. “Let’s go.”
“Mom said we could go?” (Y/N) felt her hands twitch nervously. She knew her mother didn’t want her to go with her father, she never went against her.
“We don’t always have to listen to her, she doesn’t always know what’s best for you, baby girl.”
She followed behind William, clinging onto his pant leg as they walked out of the house. She sat in the backseat quietly, waiting for her father to start talking while he pulled out of the driveway. Instead, he joined her in silence, feeling the tension in the car grow when (Y/N)’s mother’s face appeared in the window, scowling.
The awkward silence dissipated into a calm quiet once they pulled into the well lit parking lot of Freddy’s. The car pulled in smoothly under the black pavement and stopped right in front of the door.
“Hop out, let’s go see the inside.”
She got out and shivered in the cold, night air. Her arms grew soft goosebumps until she felt a heavy fabric cover her shoulders.
“Hm?” She looked at the jacket her father placed over her. His favorite, a tan, thick coat with wool around the hood. “Thank you,” she said softly, slipping her arms through the sleeves.
He said nothing, instead leading her to the door, unlocking it, and bringing her inside. (Y/N) gasped at the bright colors of the main floor. The tables were nice and wooden, the floors were slick and new, and there were game machines in the back of the room.
“Can I go play one? Pretty please?” She tried to run over to one, but his firm hand grabbed the hood of the jacket to stop her in place.
“There’ll be plenty time for that another day. Come, there is something better I want you to see.” William picked her up, hands on her lower back as he scooped her comfortably up to his chest. He brought her to a stage covered by red curtains. The velvet crinkled under his rough hands when he pulled it back to reveal the animatronics. The animatronics were powered off, sitting with an uncanny aura around them. They were shiny and plastic, but they gave off an old, tired energy that she felt unnerved by.
“Daddy, what are those?”
He put her down on the stage, pushing her forward a bit to urge her to touch them.
“Your new friends, (Y/N).

Every day was just like the next - wake up, prepare food for the people of Silver Lake, sit in on David spreading false hope around the small community, sleep and then repeat. Y/n was what you would call 'The Leaders Mistress' or at least that was what David called her. when the outbreak first occurred, Y/n travelled from one QZ to another; somewhere between DC and Boston, she had fallen pregnant to a baby girl; she was still young herself, only 18 years old. Not knowing what to do, she have given up her baby - which she had named her Ellie. Y/n turned to her best friend at the time and asked her to keep an eye out for her babygirl and to find someone to take care of her. Marlene had promised to do her best, which she had lived up to until Y/n no longer got anything on the radio from her. She never knew what happened, if Marlene had been captured by FEDRA or worse - infected.
David was up front, as always, preaching about how GOD would protect those in need.
Revelation 21. "And I saw a new heaven and a new Earth. For the first heaven and the first Earth were passed away. And I heard a great voice out of heaven say, 'Behold... the tabernacle of God is with men. And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes."
His voice droned on, the citizens of Silver Lake listening to every word he spoke, even though they have heard it about a thousand times by now. Hannah's cries could be heard at the back of the church, David stopped speaking and walked over to her. He had asked what the next part of the verse was that she had interrupted, she shook her head, David sighed before continuing "And God will wipe away all tears from their eyes... that there will be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither will there be any more pain... for the former things are passed away." He watched as the young girl wiped away her tears, her head pointed at the floor; avoiding eye contact with the man. "When can we bury him?" The man she was talking about was Alec, her father. He had been murdered when him and three others of his group went to the old university to scavenge supplies, it didn't end well - Alec had his neck snapped and his body left to lay in the snow.
David shook his head and told the girl they couldn't bury the dead because the ground was too hard to dig and that they had to wait till spring. Hannah's mother was another of David's mistresses, but the difference between her and Y/n was, she didn't have the privilege of being able to leave the grounds of the settlement, she had to cook and clean while Y/n had free roam of the woodlands around. Once their afternoon gathering was over, David had pulled Y/n outside telling her he needed to have a word. She never liked being alone with the man, he would always force her to do things she never wanted to do. If she refused him, he would only get violent; littering her body with bruises and cuts, she had to hide them so she could keep up the act of being his 'Mistress', the leader of the people. James had interrupted David and Y/n, she let out a shaky breath, thankful for James interrupting what would've been another night in hell.
James went on to tell David about a possible sighting of deer a couple miles east, he knew the community needed more food, they couldn't continue to eat the bodies of their fallen soldiers. Y/n refused to eat the food that was distributed out everyday, saying she wasn't feeling well and she couldn't stomach it, but the truth was; she didn't want to stoop to the lowest of the low and eat the people she had protected all these years. David had told James that both of them and Y/n would go out soon and check, James had started walking away as David had shouted after him telling him to grab the guns.
Tumblr media
Ellie was in the basement of some rundown house, the horse Ellie had being given when she had left Jackson was in the garage, it was the only safe lace to leave him. Joel was laying on a thin, ratty old mattress, his wound inflamed and infected. Ellie tried giving the older male some water, resulting in him coughing. She needed to do something, she needed to find food for the both of them and something to treat the infection. "I'm gonna be right back, okay?" Ellie had carefully given Joel a hug before leaving the basement and making her way to he garage to feed Callus, the horse, before setting off to find food; Joel's rifle held tightly in her hands.
After a few minutes, Ellie had stubbled upon a white snowshoe hare nibbling on the very few leaves left in the forest. The sound of her footsteps scared the creature off, running in the other direction; Ellie just a few steps behind. The young girl had lost the animal in the snow, she was tired and out of breath from chasing it; she thought about giving up until the sight of a deer caught her eye. Ellie lay down on the ground, the rifle hoisted up on a log in front of her, she turned the safety off and took a deep breath in before exhaling - BANG! The bullet had pierced right through the deer's leg, it hobbled away leaving a red trail behind it. Ellie got up and ran after it, she followed the blood that had started to seep into the snow.
The sound of voices made the young girl stop in her tracks, three figures were stood over the deer she had shot. Two men were talking about taking it for themselves while the woman beside them was trying to tell them it wasn't fair to the person who was hunting the animal. Before they could pick up the animal and bring it back to the settlement, a voice ripped through the crisp air. "Don't!" The trio turned around, Ellie had the barrel of her rifle pointed at them. "Drop your rifles." Y/n knew the kid was scared, the whole "big and scary" act was just that - an act. "Hey, kiddo. Do you mind putting the gun down please?" Y/n had her hands up in front of her as she took slow careful steps towards the young girl, as if trying to tell Ellie she meant no harm. "Back the fuck up. Don't come any closer or I'll put a bullet between your eyes." Y/n nodded her head as she stepped back a couple steps, apologising softly to the girl.
David tried to reason with Ellie, telling her how his group needed the food and he was willing to trade for it. Ellie perked up at that, asking if they had any medicine. The older man nodded his head and told James to go back to the settlement and get 2 bottles of penicillin and a syringe, James hesitate before he gave in and ran off. Ellie had made the remaining two to taken ten steps back as she advanced towards their rifles, ejecting the cartridges from the chamber.
Tumblr media
The trio were now sat in a barely standing cabin, a campfire in the middle of them as Ellie still had her gun trained on the two elders. "Where are your parents? They must be panicking with you gone." Y/n had only meant it in a nice way, she was just concerned as to why a little girl was out here on her own. "I don't have any parents. They left me when I was a baby." She spat, venom lacing her words. A sinking feeling made its home in Y/n's heart, she wondered what her daughter was doing right now; she prayed her baby was still alive, she would be about 14 now. David continued to make sly remarks as he spoke to Ellie, resulting in her being just as snarky back. David had said something that made Ellie panic, he told her about a member of their group being murdered and left outside the university and how he knew it was the man Ellie was with.
"James put the gun down and give her the stuff." He looked at David in disbelief, why would he let someone who had a hand in killing one of their people take something as valuable as medicine? "Now, James." He gave in and threw the bottles to the floor, Ellie picked them up and ran out of the building as fast as she could. After 20 minutes, she finally made it back to the house Joel was in. "Okay, fuck, where do I put this, Joel? Joel, where do I put this?" Her voice was shaking, she was on the verge of tears as she stuck the needle into the wound and released the penicillin, she just hoped it would work.
Once morning came around, Ellie gave Joel another dose of medication before going out to Callus to check on him. The sound of crows cawing up above alerted Ellie someone was close, muffled chatter could be heard from a few houses away, Ellie creeped around the area; her body pushed against the fence as she tried to stay hidden from the group turning the corner. Ellie ran back into the house and down into the basement, she place a knife on Joel's chest and grabbed his hand to take a hold of it. "Joel wake up. Joel wake the fuck up." Tears glazed over her vision, she was scared. "There are men coming, okay? I'm gonna lead them away from you, but if anybody makes it down here, you fսck¡ng kill them. You got it?" Ellie snapped her fingers in front of his face, trying to get him to stay awake. She huffed before getting up and leaving the basement, pulling a cabinet in front of the door to hopefully hide it the best she could.
The young girl turned and ran to the garage, she hopped onto Callus' saddle and raced off into the forest. "Hey, motherfuckers! Come get me!" her shouts caught the attention of 2 men from David's cult. The sound of shouts could be heard behind her and then a gun shot, she was flung off of the back of Callus as he tumbled to the ground with a whine. Ellie lay in the snow, blood running down the side of her head as her vision became blurry.
Tumblr media
When Ellie had woken up, she was in a cage; metal bars reaching the ceiling. "I started worrying you wouldn't wake up." David was sat in a chair on the other side of the cage, the side of freedom. He had a sick smile on his face as he spoke to her; asking her what her name was, why she was with Joel, if she would join him and the community. He gave up after an hour of her constantly telling him to go fuck himself, to go eat shit. David left her to her own devices, leaving the room to do god knows what. After a couple hours, the door opens again but this time it reveals Y/n with a tray of food. "Hey.. I know you're scared and you have every right to be, but I'm not going to hurt you. I just wanted to bring you food and don't worry its not human meat." She didn't mean to slip up, it was an accident. Ellie looked at her with wide eyes, questioning her about what she had said.
Y/n sat down in the chair by the door of the cage, her hands interlaced. "What's your name? If it helps, my name is Y/n. Um.. I'm 32 and I had a daughter once, she would be around your age now." Ellie stared at the older woman in front of her, Marlene never told her what her mothers name was or what she looked like so for all Ellie knew, the woman in front of her could be her mom. The girl hesitated before decided to tell her what her name was "I'm Ellie, um.. what was your daughter's name?" Y/n looked at the girl in shock, it just had to be a coincidence that she had the same name as her daughter. There was only one way to prove if it was her or not. "Is your last name Williams..?" The young girl slowly nodded her head, looking at Y/n with a confused expression.
The older woman sat on the floor in front of Ellie, her hands slipped through the bars of the cage. She hesitated before speaking "You're probably going to think I'm crazy but I'm your mom, I was only a kid when I had you.. I didn't know what to do so I asked my best friend Marlene to take care of you til I was able to provide a safe environment for you to grown up in. I'm so so sorry baby, I know I shouldn't have given up on you.." Silent tears cascaded down her face, her skin flush. Ellie was frozen, she didn't know whether to be happy or fucking livid. Her pale hands grasped her mothers, holding tightly onto her in fear she would leave again. "It's okay.. I'm angry, I am but you had your reasons and- and I've had a very special person taking care of me and I think you'd like him."
The door opened again, David stood in the doorway as he looked down at Ellie and Y/n, his eyes narrowed at the woman. "What do you think you're doing?" Y/n got up and walked over to him, she knew she had to be careful with her words or he would lock her up just like he did with Ellie. "I was just coming to bring the kid some food.. I'm sorry." David cupped her face with his hand, his thumb grazing over a scar on her cheekbone. The feeling of his skin against hers made Y/n feel sick, she hated him. He asked her to leave so he could speak to Ellie alone, she hesitate before bowing her head and leaving the room, shutting the door behind her.
Tumblr media
Shouts could be heard from the room as Y/n hid behind the corner, listening to what was being said. "Tell them Ellie is a little girl who broke your fucking finger, you sick fuck." David stormed out of the room, the door slamming behind him. His murmurers could be heard all the way down the hall before he had finally disappeared, letting Y/n know the coast was now clear. She slowly went into the room they were keeping her child and carefully shut the door behind her. Y/n lifted a finger to her lips, signalling for Ellie to be quiet as she pulled out a set of keys and unlocked the cage. "I need you to hide, you can't leave this room until I come back, okay?" Y/n held Ellie's face in her hands, checking for any marks left upon her. The girl looked up at her mom, her eyes spoke the words she couldn't.
Ellie had hidden under the table in the room as her mother went out to check if anyone was close, what she didn't know was David had come back and had Ellie pinned to the table, a cleaver pointed straight at her head. She squirmed in James' grip, trying to find the moment he let his guard down in a little. "Please. Please. I'm infected, check my arm. I'm infected." David rolled up her sleeve and saw her bite marks, which had now turned into scars. James was panicking, telling David to let her go, she was useless to them. That was when she struck, she pulled the cleaver from the table and shoved it into the crook of James' neck, blood oozing out of the wound. She kicked David in the face, making the older man fall back, and ran out the room. She found her way into the kitchen, picking up a small wooden log that was aflame and held it close to her, waiting for the moment David would enter the mess hall beside the kitchen.
The door to the mess hall opened, David had the bloodied cleaver in his hand as he walked around the area shouting out to Ellie. She threw the wood at him, he merely missed it before it had caught fire to the curtains on the windows. "There's no way out Ellie, the doors are locked and I have the keys." His voice made her sick, it was irritating and it hid a sadistic tone under the façade he carried. "I know you're not infected. No one infected fights this hard to stay alive." His back was now turned to the young girl, she grabbed a stray knife on one of the tables before stabbing it into his side. David screamed as he pulled the knife out, lunging at the girl; forcing her to the ground as his weight held her down. She thrashed about under him, clawing at his hands. "Oh, I thought you knew. The fighting is the part I like the most."
The sounds of screams echoed through the building, Y/n ran towards the noise. Ellie was on the floor with David on top of her, fire spreading around the mess hall. Y/n saw the cleaver on the floor near her, she picked it up and ran towards Ellie; using all her weight, she threw herself into David, making him tumbled to the floor. With the cleaver in Y/n's hand she struck down onto his chest, blood splattering onto her skin. "You do not get to touch her. You will never fucking lay a finger on my baby ever again. Just fucking die already." Her voice was laced with anger and sadness, every word harsher than the next. Y/n continued to slam the blade of the cleaver into his chest, blow after blow; blood flying in every direction. She turned towards Ellie after delivering the final blow to David's head "Baby, go outside. You don't need to see this, I'll be right behind you." Ellie obeyed her mothers wishes and left the building.
Y/n had cut David's 'manhood' off and threw it into the fire, as the last declaration of war. Once she had walked out the building, the sight in front of her would break any mother's hear. Ellie was shell shocked, she clung to the older man as he held her close. "You're okay, you're okay babygirl. I got you." Y/n walked over to the pair slowly, not to startle them. "Ellie, baby, I'm so sorry for what he did. I will never let that happen to you ever again babygirl." Joel's head shot up at the voice of a woman, he shoved Ellie behind him as he hid her from view. "Step back. Don't come near her." His voice was coarse, gravelly. Ellie pushed her way out from behind Joel, her stature slouched - making her look smaller. "Joel, don't. That's my mom and- and she saved me." Her voice broke mid sentence, fresh tears spilling onto her cheeks. Y/n opened her arms, embracing Ellie against her chest. She held her daughter so delicately, in fear she would break her like she were a porcelain doll. "I'll never leave you again, baby. I'm here to stay, as long as you want me to.. I love you so much and I'm sorry for not being around but I'm here now and you're not getting rid of me." Ellie cried into her mother's chest, clinging onto her tightly. Joel looked at Y/n and Ellie, a small smile on his lips; he was happy for them both. But what was he meant to do now that Ellie had her mom back?
"You joining the hug or not, old man?" Ellie's voice broke him out the trance, he made his way over to the duo and wrapped his arms around the pair. Y/n leaned into Joel and whispered to him "Thank you for protecting her.. I hope you can continue to do so, with me." Ellie finally got what she wanted, a family to protect and love her through this shitty world.

How did the Aftons react to Evan's death via the bite?
Tumblr media
About time I get an angsty question, let's dive right in!!
The Afton Family (we'll get into specifics in a minute)
- Well, it was a death in a established/popular entertainment location. Not to mention a gruesome death, so obviously everyone and their mother not only made several tabloids and news reports, they also interviewed/interrogated EVERYONE AT THE PARTY
- so what a joy it was to not only have the company's name slandered, but your family was constantly harrassed about the whole situation too!!
- Michael and Elizabeth's classmates would always ask them about the incident, to the point where William pulled them out of school for a while
- Their neighbors became extremely nosy abt it as well (asking about funeral plans, if they were gonna have Michael arrested etc) and the family itself was already pretty isolated, so they basically became antisocial afterwards and avoided talking to people
- I briefly mentioned this in the Charlie post, but William was kicked out of the company shortly afterwards (my version of Henry was originally kind of a self-centered, prideful man before Charlie...yk ☹) bc of the bad publicity towards him and the fact it was fucking up the business now (I'll list more reasons in a bit) so now the only friend the Aftons had was giving them the cold shoulder and cutting ties with them to avoid affiliations
Okay specifics time!! (This might be a long post so grab some 🍿)
Michael Afton (not the Michael color, I know, there's no gray!!)
- All Mikey wanted to do was just prank Evan, teach him a lesson for getting him in trouble more than usual.
- Nice going, Michael.
- Oh boy. This guy went to a literal state of shock (I'm talking HE FROZE IN FEAR KINDA SHOCK) as soon as Fredbear's jaw closed
- He didn't even manage to 'wake up' until they were already in the hospital (Lizzie dragged him there)
- and of course Mike was scared and remorseful, his prank was quite literally meant to be a funny haha moment which ended up as him technically becoming a murderer 😭😭
- He nearly vomited and passed out as soon as he heard Evan died
- When Michael returned to school, best believe he lost all his popularity, now everyone knew him as the guy who killed his brother (the other kids involved in the prank distanced themselves as far away from it as possible) and so he became a friendless outcast :(
- Even Jeremy stopped talking to him, mostly because of what Jeremy's mom said about them for clout
- which totally didn't help his now declining mental health
Elizabeth Afton
- Lizzie was actually hanging around the bathroom area talking with Charlie when the bite happened, she would've been too late to stop it anyway
- She literally lost her twin. It's not the best feeling in the world.
- Of course she felt terrible about the whole situation but also,,,a sense of liberation??
- like, the one person who stood in the way of her gaining her father's love is dead. Mike doesn't give 2 shits about Will, and Clara is already in a loveless relationship with him. So now it leaves her as his new favorite
- she surprisingly was able to move on faster than the rest of her family (at least on the outside, as I said she did lose her baby brother)
- but it's not a fun life afterwards, considering she no longer had friends at school now since Will pulled her out quickly (and plus, Henry started cutting ties with the Aftons so now she couldn't hang out with Charlie!!) And again, she started losing her mind just like the rest of the family
Clara Afton
- Girly was just tryna to find a camera in the car outside, she didn't see or hear the bite thankfully (she did have to see the image of her bleeding son being carried out by his father though)
- Evan's death is truly what got her motivated enough to actually start fighting against Will's constant mistreatment of her and the kids
- but of course that doesn't last long. (Guess who ends up in Ballora?)
- because of the news (and more specifically, one particular news article made by a Mrs. Helen Fitzgerald, mother of Jeremy Fitzgerald,,,👀) she was now labeled a neglectful, hosebag mom who was probably in it for those Afton bucks 💸 which ruined her relationship with her neighbors and friends
- Remember, EVERYONES reputation was terribly slandered by the bite (and by the media wanting to cause more drama)
- She was already a stressed out, meek person because of her marriage with William, she got a lot worse after her baby died
William Afton (his is the LONGEST sorry for the text walls)
- He was just about ready to carry out Evan's birthday cake as soon as he heard the screams of terror
- He reacted almost instantly. William is not a very physically strong looking man, but he is powerful enough to break a robot's jaw open.
- He pulled Evan's body out (as best as he could, he was rushing to save him so who knows if some...chunks were still left inside 🤢🤢 sorry for the mental image)
- He didn't acknowledge ANYONE else in the room. And he didn't even have the rest of his family get into the car, he placed Evan in the back with a blanket wrapped tightly around his head and drove off, leaving the rest of the family to find another way to the hospital
- but of course his efforts were all for nothing.
- Everyone kinda expected him to become deranged and violently (publicly) abusive but for a while he was just...numb. and detached from everyone and everything. He wouldn't talk to a single person and would isolate himself in his workshop/basement to grieve
- (he didn't even bother punishing Michael for the accident, which set off a lot of red flags for Mikey who knew that something would snap inside his father soon)
- His already inconsistent sanity started cracking when his name and family were considered pariahs now (thanks a lot Helen for further spreading rumors about them)
- it became even worse when Henry kicked him out (According to Henry's excuses, he knew Will was likely never going to recover from the bite so he might as well give him an 'early retirement')
- (Basically, Will wasn't coming to work at all and wasn't making them money, his damaged reputation would ruin the now shitty rep of the diner more, and bc of the Aftons now being associated with the words 'horrible' 'neglectful' and 'irresponsible' , Henry just decided to tie up loose ends and get rid of him to save face) (Remember that Henry was an asshole and only got to his redemption journey once his daughter died)
- So, great. But what's this?? The closed Fredbear's Family Diner Fredbear animatronic is acting?? Off?? Sort of seems...alive??? You bet it is!!
- And of course, we all know what happens from there.
Thanks for asking! If you want more just ask!!

Choice - Benedict Bridgerton

Masterlist
Speak Now TV Masterlist
Summary : You are in love with Benedict but you have to marry another man.

Word count : 4.3k
French version
Song inspiration : Speak Now (Taylor's Version) by Taylor Swift
Your wide open eyes on the ring in front of you, you’re speechless. You knew this day would come. This dreadful day where Duke William Edmonstone would put a knee down and would ask you the question that sounds like a death sentence. You raise your gaze and look around you in the ballroom. All the guests of the Duke’s family are waiting for your answer impatiently. It looks like everyone knew this ball was for this specific event.
Setting your eyes on your right, you find your mother. She nods with strength. You look down on the man in front of you and force a smile.
“I would be honoured to be your wife.”
At your sentence, everyone cheers. Glad, William stands up and puts the ring on your finger. He kisses your left hand, knowing it’s the only proper physical contact he can give you.
Your fiancé abandons you to talk with his friends while you stay put, paralysed. You can’t believe you just pronounce your own condemn. You only want one thing : to run away from here as fast as possible. However, the arrival of young women of the ton prevents you from it. They start talking about weddings, decorations, vows and even babies ! You listen to them without giving your full attention and answer from time to time to be polite. The ring on your ring finger weighs more as the second goes by.
During the whole night, you stay in this numb feeling, not knowing how to act. You should be happy to have secured a match yet, you can’t help but feel sad. You wish  there had been another man at the end of the ring.
When you come home from the ball, you keep acting like a puppet until you get in your bedroom. As soon as your door is closed, you let go of a sigh. You get closer to your dressing table when your maid enters your room. She invites you to sit down in front of your mirror to undo your hair. She takes two pins off then your mother makes an apparition and she dismisses your maid. Your mom gets behind you and keeps undoing your hair. You don’t know the reason why she came to see you but you know she’s going to tell you in a few minutes. When your hair is finally loose, your mom puts her hands on your shoulders and looks at you through the mirror.
“You do not seem happy, my child.”
“I am, mama. I just cannot believe I am finally getting married.” you say with a fake happy tone.
“You have doubts. No need to deny it. I used to be at your place before. Tell me what the matter is.” your mom tells you with a soft voice.
“I am not sure I am made for the Duke.” you admit, avoiding her gaze.
“What do you mean ? You have been raised all your life to marry a man of his rank.”
“Is his rank that important ?”
“Of course, it is !” your mom answers as if it was obvious, “You cannot marry a man whose rank is inferior to ours. The Duke is perfect. Furthermore, he is a nice man and he will give you a decent life.”
“But, I do not love him, mama.”
“Love !” she exclaims, rolling her eyes. “Love is not important when it comes to marriage. You must choose your survival before thinking of something as futile as love.”
“I wish I could have a marriage of love.” you insist, looking down.
Your mother puts a finger under your chin to make you raise your head to her.
“Do not worry about love, you will discover it when you will have children.”
“Do you not love papa ?”
“I care about your father dearly. And one day, so will you with the Duke. Y/N, finding love in a marriage is something rare. The small portion of people who do are lucky.”
“The Bridgertons seem like a lucky family then.” you mutter.
“All of these doubts are because of the second born Bridgerton, is it not ?” your mother questions, arching a brow. “No matter if they are a respectable family, he is a second son and even if he was the first born, he would only be a Viscount. You cannot keep having what you two share.”
“I do not know what you are talking about.” you deny, clearing your throat.
“My child, I see the glances you give to each other.”
“Mama, I promise you-”
“I know nothing happened.” she cuts you off with a smile. “I haven’t said anything because I trust you. I knew when the moment would come, you would make the right choice, in other words : marrying the Duke. However, you must stop talking to him.” she orders with a firm voice. “I noticed it quickly and you should be grateful I was the only one. If Lady Whistledown were to write about it, it could ruin your marriage. Have I made myself clear, Y/N ?”
“Yes, mama.” you sigh.
Satisfied by your reaction, your mom kisses your cheek and leaves the room. Your eyes fill with tears and you quickly make them disappear when your maid comes back to help you out of your ball dress.
Since your proposal, you can’t sleep. Your nights are busy with your thoughts. Your fears are taking over, despites your mother’s attempts to reassure you. Like she confirmed to you several times, you did the right thing by accepting the betrothal, the Duke Edmonstone is a good catch and only three years older than you. He’s also a good looking man and cultured. You should feel fortunate. You could have found yourself with an old and disrespectful man. Yes, the Duke will give you a decent life. Notwithstanding, the Duke is not the only matter in your mind ; you don’t want your life to change. You don’t want to have to leave your childhood home for an unknown place with a man who doesn’t care for your mind. Above all, you don’t want to say goodbye to Benedict.
You two met a few months ago and you bonded instantly. You’ve never felt this before. You feel like someone finally understands you. Your passion for the art has helped your relationship a lot. It’s not rare for you two to sneak out to a more discreet location during social events. Nothing scandalous ever happened, like you promised your mother, unless falling in love is considered as such. Benedict didn't officially court you because your father is always saying his daughter will never marry a man who isn't, at least, an Earl, let alone if he’s not a first born. In other words, your relationship was doomed before it even started but it didn’t stop you from getting closer. Now that you have to marry, you have to leave Benedict behind. Your mom hasn’t stopped reminding you to do it several times. You thought about the way you’re going to tell him ; you ended up deciding it’s better to go straight to the point. You don’t want to make yourself suffer even more so it’s useless to make a tragic speech to bid farewell.
The next vernissage seems the perfect moment to do it. You’re sure he’ll be there. Generally, Benedict avoids balls. He, sometimes, makes an apparition only to see you in a beautiful dress and sneak out with you to discuss your ambitions in life. Consequently, the events regarding art are the only occasions where you know you’ll find him.
Once you’re at the gallery, you walk slowly, admiring the paintings carefully. Your mother is not really far away, even if she keeps a distance to allow Benedict to talk with you.
You enter the second room where there aren’t a lot of people. You stare at the painting depicting a forest during a summer day when Benedict appears next to you. Seeing him, you play with your gloves, needing a way to evacuate your stress. By your side, Benedict smiles as he looks at the tableau in front of him. You turn your head and from afar, your mother gives you a sign to hurry. You sigh before clearing your throat and avoid his gaze.
“Benedict, we should stop seeing each other.”
“Because of your wedding ?” Benedict asks after a long second of silence.
“I cannot risk a scandal now.”
“Of course. Congratulations on your engagements.” he states emotionlessly.
Without holding forth, Benedict doesn’t glance at the other paintings and goes to another room. Your eyes sting however you pay no mind to it. You did the hardest part. You can’t cry now or people will wonder why you’re in such a state after exchanging a few words with Benedict. You quickly blink and when you’re sure you’re not going to cry, you go to your mom. She locks her arms in yours to comfort you.
Benedict is officially a part of your younger self's past. You, now, have to focus on your future newly-wed life.
The next month is rythmed by the wedding preparations. The Duke insisted on having a marriage quickly. You got asked for your opinion for the reception but you let your mother handle everything. You don’t want this wedding so what does it matter if you like it or not ?
You haven’t seen Benedict since then and this hasn't helped with your gloominess. You wish you could leave everything behind and go find him, unfortunately you can’t make this choice so you keep getting ready for your new life. All your life, you have been raised to be the perfect wife but now your mom is taking things to another level. Given that you’re a future Duchess, she wants to ensure you won’t make a single mistake. She wants you to be perfect. If she lets you have one flaw, she’s worried your future husband will decide to abandon you. Lately, the pressure is more suffocating than your corset. You can’t breathe anymore and you feel like you’ve passed out and no one is paying attention to you.
Your last day as a maiden goes by at the speed of light. In a blink, the night has fallen and you’re in your bed staring at your wedding dress. You glare at it, knowing everything it represents. It’s a prison embellished by a white fabric. Objectivally, the dress is beautiful, Madame Delacroix has outdone herself, but you hate it. You keep looking at the object of your fear until you hear something hitting your window. You frown yet don’t move. When you hear the same noise again, you leave your bed, glaring one last time at the dress and open your window. On the ground floor, in your garden, you find Benedict. His tie is untied, the first buttons of his shirt are undone and his hair is messy because of the numerous times he runs his hand through it.
“Benedict, what are you doing here ? You need to go.” you order, trying to not speak too loud.
“Please, I need to talk to you.”
“You cannot be seen here. If Lady Whistledown-”
“Give me five minutes.” he cuts you off with begging eyes.
You stare at him, weighing the pros and cons. You miss him, though talking to him would be a mistake. However, your feelings for Benedict are stronger than your morale.
“Don’t move.”
You close your window and take your dressing gown. Before leaving your bedroom, you look at yourself in the mirror. You put back in place some strands of your hair and open your door. You glance right and left before leaving the room, walking on tiptoe. The light of the moon gives you enough visibility to walk down the stairs without falling.
Once you’re in your garden, you find Benedict pacing back and forth. When he sees you, he moves to hold you in his arms and right away, you take a step back. Noticing your movement, Benedict keeps his distance and his arms fall on his legs.
“You cannot stay here, Benedict. I am to be married tomorrow.” you remind him, crossing your arms on your chest.
“I know but tomorrow, I will not be there and I needed to see you.”
“Why are you not coming ? Your family has been invited.” you question, eyebrows furrowed.
“Your lovely mama paid me a visit and she got me to understand I was to stay away from you.”
Hearing your information, you wish you could feel anger for your mother however you’re grateful. You know if Benedict was here, you wouldn’t be able to marry the Duke. Notwithstanding, having Benedict in your garden the night before your wedding is surely no better.
“Nevertheless, I could not let you marry the Duke without talking to you one last time.” he adds.
“What do you wish to talk about ?”
“Y/N, do not marry him.” he announces point blank. “Tomorrow, do not say ‘yes’ or say a single vow. You deserve to marry another man than him.”
“How dare you say that ? The Duke is a gentleman. He will treat me right.” you get mad.
“But do you love him ?”
“I care about him.” you answer him after a silence.
“So you do not love him.” Benedict specifies, seeing right through you, “You cannot marry a man you do not love. You deserve to be with someone you love and who loves you back.”
“Love is not important. I need to think about what's best for me and the Duke is the best option.” you argue, your mother’s words resonating in your mind.
“The best option according to whom ?”
“I do not have another choice, Benedict. I cannot afford to be picky. I do not have the luxury to tell my mama I want to wait before getting married or to focus on my art. I cannot afford to make that choice, contrary to you.”
“It is not too late to make another one.”
“You are being insensitive right now. You cannot come here, the night before my wedding, and tell me to not marry the Duke.” you retort with teary eyes.
“If you loved him, I would not have uttered a word, but it is not the case.”
“And what do you propose instead ? Because if I leave the Duke at the altar, I will be without an option.”
“I will be here for you.” he promises as if it was a magic remedy.
“You cannot be serious.” you sigh, rolling your eyes. “Did you think about the scandal it would cause ? Your family’s reputation would be destroyed and your sisters need to marry as well.”
“It would be worth it. I love you, Y/N and I know you love me, too.”
“The fact is, it does not change anything about my situation. Tomorrow, I will be married and I will finally be what I have been raised for all my life : a faithful wife.”
“Faithful !” Benedict laughs humorlessly, “And you think your dear future husband had the same education as you ? The Duke might act as a gentleman but he keeps seeing other women and he will keep on doing so after you are married. He does not have any regard for you. He just wants a wife. He cannot give you what you truly want.”
“And you think I do not know that ? I am well aware of this fact. Except the world is like this and I cannot change it.” you affirm, desperately.
“Is there not a thing I could say to convince you ?”
“My destiny has been written for a long time. You need to leave me alone.”
“Very well, but before this,” he starts, getting closer to you and you let him do it, “would you allow me to kiss you ? I have wanted to do it since we first talked.” he adds putting his hand on your cheek, “And I wish to do it before you’re someone else’s.”
“Benedict, it is improper.” you object, without moving.
“If your future husband can currently be with another woman, I think you deserve to make the choice of kissing someone you really love before it is too late.” Benedict mutters but you stay sceptical. “No matter if you accept to give me this honour, just know you will not hear from me ever again, I promise you.”
You stare in Benedict’s blue eyes, trying to resist the temptation of tasting his lips. Your mother’s words and the fear of finding yourself on the first page of Lady Whistledown’t next issue are the only things holding you back. However, when Benedict's second hand touches yours, your mind doesn’t think of these things anymore so you hold your hand before whispering.
“You may kiss me.”
With a smile, Benedict leans in and softly presses his lips on yours. You kiss him back in an instant. You wish you could kiss him since the moment your eyes met his. Like you expected, his lips are soft and fit perfectly with yours. You kiss lovingly, enjoying this moment, this last choice you made.
Without adding something else, you leave Benedict alone and get back home while he leaves your grounds.
The guilt isn’t eating you alive, only joy is exploding in yourself. You will always keep this moment in your mind and you know it will nourish a lot of your nights when you’ll be next to your husband. You don’t regret kissing Benedict because, for the first time in your life, you finally put yourself first. Arriving in your bedroom, your wedding dress seems to judge you but you pay it no mind and lay down on your bed. At the same time, the joy leaves your body, not for remorse, but for sadness ; you will never live this moment again. You will never feel this feeling again.
When the sun rises in the sky the next morning, your stomach twists. Meanwhile you’re getting ready, you live an out of body experience. Your body's here and dressed up however your mind is lost in the memory of the night before. This memory is nicer than your reality.
When you’re at the door of the chapel, you gain consciousness again. You know this is your last moment as Y/N Y/L/N. You take a deep breath whilst your father comes next to you. He gives you a comforting smile, seeing your state.
“Do not be afraid, my dearest. You are ready. Your whole life has been made for this moment.”
You cannot count how many times you've been hearing this since you're out in society. It's supposed to make you feel better and yet, it only makes you feel even more trapped.
You don’t answer your father, fearing you might throw up on him due to the stress. Your father makes sure your veil is set correctly on your head then he locks his arms with yours and guides you through to the chapel. The music starts playing and for you, it doesn’t sound like a wedding song but more like a death march. You walk down the aisle, your heart beating loudly in your ears and your flowers are practically strangled by your grip. While walking, you take notice of the guests, wanting to avert your attention from your future husband. When you glance on the right side of the aisle, you find the Bridgerton family. Violet Bridgerton’s eyes are filled with softness that helps you to feel more at ease, despite the fact you’d still like to run away. Taking a closer look at the Bridgerton family, your eyes find Benedict. You do your best to not show your confusion. He wasn’t supposed to be here. You don’t understand what he’s doing here. He cannot be here. You have to go through with this wedding. Not wanting to be more disturbed, you finally dare to watch your future husband. He looks good in his suit yet, you can’t help but think Benedict is more handsome.
When you’re at the altar, your father kisses your forehead before letting you go to the Duke. Once your father lets go of your arm, you want to catch him and beg him to not let you go. You don’t do it. Tightening your grip on your bouquet, you give a forced smile at the Duke. The music stops and the Archbishop announces to the guests they can sit down. When they did and the ceremony has finally started, tears form in your eyes.
“Dearly beloved, we are gathered together here in the sight of God, and in the face of this congregation to join together this man and this woman in holy matrimony ” he states solemnly.
The word ‘matrimony’ echoes in your mind and you can’t listen to the Archbishop’s voice anymore. You can only watch the scene unfold in front of you until you willingly press a finger on a thorn from your bouquet to bring you back to reality. You can’t dwell in your own world anymore, you have to face your truth. In spite of yourself, you look furtively at Benedict before landing your gaze on the man in front of you again. At the same time you get back in the chapel, you hear the Archbishop exclaim :
“If anyone thinks this man and this woman shall not be joined together, speak now or forever hold your peace.”
After the Archbishop's sentence, there is a silence for a second and you’re afraid your fast heartbeats can be heard. You wouldn’t be surprised to find your heart out of your chest.
As there is no protest, the Archbishop opens his mouth again to finish the wedding when your name echoes in the chapel. Every pair of eyes, yours included, land on the same spot, on Benedict, standing on his feet with a broken but determined gaze.
“Y/N, I know I told you I would leave you alone but I cannot.” he starts with trembling hands. “You need to hear me out, do not marry him ! You should not be obliged to marry a man you do not love… I love you too much to let you make this mistake.” he adds and at these words, Anthony tries to make him sit again in vain. “If you become his wife, you will not be happy, you will be miserable. We both know it. You should not be marrying the wrong man. You have always told me you wanted to marry a man you love dearly and who supports you in everything. And this man is not the Duke.” Benedict carries on and you feel the heat in your cheek. “I am not saying you should marry me, if this is not what you wish for, even if I would be honoured to be your husband. Just please, do not become his wife.”
Following his tirade, Benedict takes a deep breath. The room is filled with horrified looks, especially Anthony’s and your parents. No one knows how to react, not expecting this interruption. Benedict doesn’t pay attention to the others, he is only looking at you as if you were alone in the chapel. You can see all the tenderness and love he has for you.
As for you, your eyes are wide open in shock. Benedict’s intervention cut your growing anxiety off and you stay on your feet, not moving an inch. You don’t dare to say a word, not knowing what is going to happen next. The moment stays frozen in time for a whole minute before Anthony stands up and forces his brother to leave the chapel. Your eyes follow the two Bridgerton brothers until they’re out of sight.
Once everything is calm again, the Duke takes your hand to bring back your attention to him. He asks if they can resume and to answer him, you let your bouquet fall at your feet. You mutter a quick apology and walk up the aisle while your father is ordering you to come back.
As soon as you’re outside, you find Anthony reprimanding Benedict. Without paying a mind to it, you throw yourself at the man you love. Taken aback by your gesture, Anthony takes a step back. Understanding the situation, the Bridgerton first born knows he has to handle a delicate situation so he goes back to the chapel. You keep embracing Benedict in your arms for several seconds before putting your hands on his cheeks and kissing him with passion. Benedict stumbles, surprised by your action, before deepening the kiss. You keep kissing until you’re out of air. When you break the embrace, you keep your hands on both sides of his face, joyful tears in your eyes.
“You are right. I cannot marry him. I know what we have just done will have consequences but I do not care. I want to be with you. I want to be able to choose and I choose you. It is you I want by my side. I love you, Benedict.” you confess with a genuine smile, the first one in a month.
“I love you so much.” he answers, pecking your lips.
“I am so glad you were around when they said ‘speak now’. Had you not intervened, I never would have had the strength to run away.”
“I told you I would be here for you.” Benedict reminds you, stroking your cheeks. “We should leave while they are still in shock.”
You agree and Benedict takes your hand. You look at each other with love and without wasting another second, you run out of the place, you undo your veil and let it fall down on the ground. You know you’re in a complicated situation but it doesn't matter to you. You love each other and you will get married and even if it means going to another city and suffer the wrath of your parents once you’re back. You chose each other, it’s all that matters.

'William Orchard Hopper"
Pairing: Harringrove.
Tw: child abuse, mentions of infidelity.
This started out as a headcanon of Jim being Billy biological dad and quickly spiraled into this??? Sorry. <3
Not many people know that Jim Hopper spent a considerable amount of time in California in his twenties.
Jim and Billy's mom, Bria Hargrove met and had an affair that led to Billy being born.
Neil knows Billy isn't his son, and becomes abusive towards Bria and Billy until she can no longer take it.
When Billy is ten, she leaves and hides a note in Billy's room for him to find.
The note tells him that Neil isn't his real father, it tells him his real father lives in Indiana. Hawkins, specifically but that he had once lived in California. She tells him that the man is named Jim Hopper. She doesn't give him any other details. Not that it truly matters, Neil is whose on his birth certificate. Neil is who is raising Billy into the man he's destined to be.
Confused, Billy tucks the note away. He can almost forget about it, but the knowledge that Neil isn't his dad stays with him. Even when Neil married Susan, and he gained a step-sister in her daughter, Max.
It doesn't become a problem for Billy until Neil announces that their new, fragile thing of a family is moving to Hawkins, Indiana.
He doesn't know if Neil knows he'll be dropping them in the town of the very man his mother cheated on him with.
A week after the move, Billy makes the mistake of getting high after Neil's latest lesson in Respect and Responsibility that ended with Billy nursing bruised ribs and what's definitely a mild concussion.
The mistake isn't smoking weed, per say. No, Billy's mistake was forgetting just how loose lipped he gets when high. Because, now he's shown Max the letter his mom left all those years ago, he tells her that Neil isn't his biological father.
Max doesn't say anything, she just stands up and hugs her step-brother.
The blond tenses briefly, before he's sinking into the hug; his own arms winding around her small frame.
She's gotten taller, so with Billy sitting, his head is pressed into her stomach.
She doesn't comment on the warmth of his tears, she just hugs him tighter.
What does someone say to their step-brother who's father beats him on a regular basis? What do you say when that same boy knows the man who lords his parental status over him, isn't actually his dad?
Max decides you say nothing. Billy doesn't seem put off by the lack of response.
It isn't until after Halloween, after Max has plunged a syringe into Billy's neck to sedate him when a panic attack had led to a violent fit, that they're both forced to confront the very thing Billy has tried so hard to forget.
It wasn't the first time Billy lashed out like this, but it was one of the worst times. Her new friends had gotten permission from Neil and her mother to come over, but something set Billy off when she introduced him to Jane.
To his credit, Billy had fled the house when he noticed his breathing picking up. It hadn't helped much, because Max followed behind him, leading her friends to do the same.
When Jane met his gaze, her eyes were soft but unreadable, like she knew she held the last name of the man his mother confessed was actually his father.
It could've been a coincidence, but his mom had also told him the mystery man was training to become a police officer.
That was too many coincidences, if you asked Billy.
He doesn't remember much after that, not that ever does.
He knows her friends had been afraid, but for some weird fucking reason they tried to comfort him.
The curly-haired one even called Steve Harrington, declaring that the elder was good in situations like this.
Billy seriously doubted that, but he'd never pass up a chance to see Steve. Their relationship was still new. New as in they'd only been official for the past week.
Once Steve had arrived, the kids all seemed to lose interest in everything, and retreated into the living room to play video games. Max took some convincing, but eventually, they were able to pry her away from the place she'd refused to leave at Billy's side.
The couple quickly toed off to Billy's room, and Steve wasted no time in pulling Billy into his arms.
Billy felt bone-tired, the sedative given to him never knocks him out, it mostly tires him out. Makes the world fuzzy, and like it's covered in a foggy film.
But, this felt different. This felt like a tiredness that wouldn't be quelled by resting for the remainder of the day.
The younger boy hadn't told Steve about Jim, so when he asked what triggered this episode, Billy quickly spilled. He spoke until his throat felt raw, and his hands were shaking.
He spoke until the room felt as if all the air was quickly evaporating.
Steve waited until Billy's word vomit came to an end, before gently responding, "It's okay, B. If Hop is your dad, he's a good man. A little grumpy, but he's not like…" he trails off, but Billy can fill in the blanks just fine.
"H-how am I even supposed to broach this subject with him, Steve? What if...what if he doesn't want me just like her, and I'm stuck with Neil until I'm 18, or dead?"
The brunet quickly reaches out to cup Billy's cheek, his thumb grazing the smooth skin. "That won't happen. Even if it did, you've got me. You're never gonna be stuck with him forever so long as I'm alive and breathing, baby."
There's more the boy wants to say, but he just feels so tired. The sounds of the kids all yelling in the other room serve as nothing more than background noise.
It's about an hour later, and Billy's only been fighting his sleep because Steve is showing him various tiktoks and clips of random gamers he enjoys.
Soon though, he's starting to doze on Steve's shoulder, when there's a knock at his door, then a head of brown curls are peaking into his room.
Jane.
His breath hitches, but Steve's hand finds his back and begins to soothingly rub his stress away.
Metaphorically, of course. Because in reality, Billy is still freaking out.
"Jim is here to pick me up, but he wanted to meet you."
This causes him to bristle, "Me? Why?"
Jane merely shrugs, before turning away.
Billy has an inkling she does know, but he swallows it down and climbs off his bed to make the short trek to the living room.
When he lays eyes on Hopper, the man is dressed in his uniform, a small grimace on his lips as he observes the sparsely decorated room.
His eyes eventually land on Billy and he offers something that could be considered a smile.
"So you're the owner of that Camaro out front, or is that your dad's?"
Billy wants to laugh out loud at the question, but instead he shakes his head. "No, sir. She's all mine, fixed her from the ground up myself."
It was true, Billy spent months fixing her up, she'd been all but totaled when he found her body at the junkyard in California.
He immediately fell in love with the car, despite the appearance and the rest was history.
The chief let out a long whistle, along with an approving nod.
"Damn kid. You lookin' for work? I know the mechanic in town could use someone like you on weekends."
Billy only nods, unsure of what to say.
"Yeah, yeah that'd be great, actually! Thanks."
Jim nods, his eyes never leaving their place of observing the blond.
"I'll set it up, just come by my office on Monday and we'll work out all the kinks."
Soon after, Jim leaves with Jane, who promises Max that they'll hang out soon.
Much to Billy's chargin, Steve leaves with the rest of the kids, sans Max, around forty-five minutes later.
Neil and Susan return after Billy has finished cleaning up the dishes from his and Max's dinner.
His dad seems pissed by something, something Billy can't figure out.
Not that it matters. All that matters is that his bad mood means a repeat of last night.
As it plays out, Billy doesn't have to wait until Monday, because the man in question all but busts the Hargrove's front door down, catching Neil in the act of wailing on the defenseless blond.
There's a whirlwind of activity that ends with his father in cuffs, and Hopper escorting Billy to the hospital with Max glued to his side while Susan tails the Chief's car.
On the drive there, Billy doesn't expect the chief to blurt out, "Jane heard what you told Steve." Billy wants to play dumb, he wants to pretend he has no clue what Hopper is referring to; but instead he just shrugs and glances back at Max, the red-head at least looks apologetic.
"Does she always ear hustle that hard?" The large man huffs out a laugh, "you have no clue kid," he pauses, chewing at his lip before he carefully continues, "I knew the last name was familiar, just chalked up to a coincidence. But your ma...you look just like her…"
"Why didn't you say something earlier?"
"I didn't want to assume, I was gonna do some digging. You know? I didn't know Bria was pregnant when we broke things off. All she said was Neil was getting suspicious. She didn't tell me, if she had…" he trails off, pulling up to the entrance of the hospital.
"I'm gonna make this right, Billy. I promise."
Billy wants to scoff, but one glance at Max's hopeful face in the mirror has Billy nodding instead.
"Yeah, okay." His words are soft, lacking any bite.
It turns out that the police chief busting down your front door to find your "father" beating you bloody, is more than enough evidence to send said man to prison.
It also turns out that one nicely worded threat is enough to have Neil Hargrove give up parental rights that never rightly belonged to him.
A DNA test for confirmation later Billy was getting a new birth certificate in the mail with the name William Orchard Hopper.
Below it read Bria Hargrove and James Hopper.
Billy was in the middle of decorating his new room in Hopper's place when Max barged in, Steve trailing behind her with a sweet grin on his lips.
"Billy, can you take me and Jane to the arcade?" Jane, who Billy hadn't noticed initially just smiled up at him.
The boy shook his head, turning to Steve, "aren't these your charges? Why am I the chaperone?"
Max rolls his eyes, "you're our brother, so you have to! You love us!"
Jane quickly nods her head, a sparkle in her eyes, "Yeah! You love us."
Steve hums his agreement, which has Billy shaking his head again, "okay, whatever shitbirds. Let me change, at least."
They seem to accept that, and slip out the room, leaving Billy and Steve alone.
The latter smiles at him, before crossing the room to plant a light kiss to his lips.
"Alright, now hurry up, Blondie! We can't let the boys get too cocky, Jonathan dropped them off already and I just know Dustin is trying to beat Max's highscores already. They're gonna fight all day."
Once Billy is dressed, he drags Steve out his bedroom, only to run into Hopper. Literally.
Billy's head bounces against his chest and everything.
The man just grunts and steadies the smaller boy, his lips parting to speak before Billy is wrapping his arms around his midsection, "see you for dinner, Pops!" before he's grabbing Steve's hand and ushering Max and Jane out the door.
Jim doesn't miss the smile that graces his son's lips before he calls out, "be safe!"
He can almost see the way Jane and Billy roll their eyes before responding without missing a beat,
"Us? Always!" Jim doesn't mention the time he had to put out a small fire from when Billy tried to teach Jane tricks with his zippo.
Yeah, always my ass, he thinks.

Tumblr media
Prologue
Rating: M
Characters: Merle Dixon, William Dixon (Father cannon), Lizbeth Dixon (Mom OC)
Warnings: Mentions of Child Abuse and Neglect, underage drinking, arrests, removal of children from homes into foster care,
The Book of Merle
From the time Merle was little, he knew and understood the rules right away. He had to in order to make it in the Dixon household. It was ingrained in him. Forcibly. Carved into his very skin. Over and over. His momma always told him his first word was Daddy then his second Shhh. It was even then in his subconscious known that there was a danger and it needed to be avoided.
Rule Number One:
Don’t make too much noise in the mornings when daddy first wakes up, especially not before he has his first drink. The welts on his back and his mother’s black eyes were proof enough of what could happen if he strayed from this rule. His Daddy did his damnedest to provide for his family the best he knew how… Or so that’s what he said. He always went out to the shed in the woods and made that “liquid gold” that was clear as far as Merle could tell and made him a nicer man to be around when he drank it. Said it was refreshing. Merle assumed it was like when he pressed his lips to the water pump outside, letting that cold spring water rush past his lips in the heat of the summer. But when he pressed his lips to one of the mason jars he found one day when he was all but six years old and his momma and daddy were preoccupied, busy in their room having kicked him out of the house for the day, Merle found that the drink burned like hell but eased his worrying mind in a numbing way that he found he liked.
Rule Number Two:
Never ask questions when dad gives you important business to do for his work, just shut up and get the job done quickly. Merle didn’t adhere to this rule once. Just once however. His father had advised that he skip school and take the long way to a “colleague's” house where he was to drop off the mason jar he placed in his knapsack. But the familiar warm feeling of the “liquid gold” his father made called out to him oh so loudly. He wanted another taste even if it was just one. And so instead of heeding his father’s words to follow the rugged deer trails around the mountain Merle followed the main roads he always took to school. How would his father know if half the jar was gone by the time he arrived at his friends? How wouldn’t he know he hand just… spilled it? But then the police pulled up. And everything moved so fast. Too fast. And before he knew ir he was sitting in holding waiting for his momma to come get him and his daddy to come with his belt.
Rule Number 3:
Never cry if your belly ain’t full. It ain’t right not when momma and daddy work so hard to put what they can on the table while yer at school.
Rule Number 4:
Never make momma cry, it makes her makeup run and when it does the bruises show through. The ladies at work like to ask questions and call the cops for her getting their noses in her business like it’s their job to care.
Rule Number 5:
Can’t never tell yer teacher what daddy did for work. If they ever asked he had to say he was waitin’ for a good management position.
Rule number 6:
Whats hunted is shared or we all starve. In the same breath. We give back to the forest for it feeds us and gives us shelter from the dangers that exist in life. If we do this we will always have a place to hide when things get really bad. The woods will always be the safest place.
Rule Number 7:
Most importantly… Hide when the people in suits came calling from CPS they were never any good and only ever took ya away momma and wanted to keep you from protecting her.
See… Merle knew these rules… he learned them through experience. And knew them all like the back of his hand. He learned how to skate between braking them and keeping them in check. Daryl however… born 8 full years after Merle. He didn’t. And Merle really didn’t want to teach him. But… if he didn’t, who would?

So, I have a couple of thoughts about the fnaf movie. Theories, if you will. Specifically concerning Vanessa.
This will contain spoilers. Proceed with caution if you haven't seen the movie, yet, or scroll past.
Okay, Vanessa Shelly and my thoughts/theories surrounding her in the movie verse. There are 3 (with some points in between).
1) Her name. I do not think it is an alias, I think that is her actual surname -- specifically from her mom. We don't know anything about her full dynamic family life as a child, except that her dad is William Afton. So, I think it's safe to speculate that, in the movie at least, William and his wife had a divorce. Vanessa's Mom won custody over her and changed her last name from Afton to Shelly, Mom's maiden name. Visitation or shared custody was still a thing that could happen after divorce, especially in the 80s and 90s by court order in some states so kids could have some semblance of having two parents in their lives (maddening, I know), so of course she would still have photos of herself and her dad. But, the main holder of child custody can enforce a name change, if they so choose. And, if the mother went thru a name change after the divorce, so too would have Vanessa.
So, at least for me, Vanessa really is Vanessa Shelly and comes from a broken family. We can see semblance of this when her and and Mike are talking by the water drain/river in his neighborhood. When he mentioned that before Garrett's abduction, his parents were the kind you'd see on television: have family dinner at the table, hold hands, and say grace. Vanessa's expression is one of pain, longing, and jealousy--her family was nothing like that, and she likely never knew what a loving family ever felt like. This is also the moment that she truly sees the outside perspective of the damages that her father had done: she'd *never* met someone from the families that had been affected by his evil. Until she met Mike. Her father *broke* this family, just had he had heartlessly *broken her*, his own daughter. This was the start of her turning point: meeting Abby, talking with Mike, and connecting the dots on what happened. However, she is still a victim of harsh, narcissistic parent manipulation: it is always going to be a long and hard road for her.
2) "He really fucked you up, didn't he?"
I think it goes without saying that Vanessa is as much a victim as the children, Mike, and Abby in this movie (as well as the countless security guards that died prior to Mike getting the job). However, a thought struck me that...well, I'll be honest. It's fucked up and broke my heart, but it also came about when I questioned one thing during the moment when Vanessa was telling Mike in further detail on what happened to the children that disappeared during the 3rd act of the movie on the Fifth night.
*how did she know the animatronics still holds the children's bodies, when no one found them to begin with?*
Here's my fucked up theory that I'm starting to believe: William Afton not only manipulated and mentally/emotionally hurt and broke his daughter--he brain washed her into helping him abduct those children.
Yes, he was the one that did the evil deed, however, what better way to have a child that is a stranger to you be trusting and calm and not fight back when you're a 6 ft, adult sized animatronic/rabbit suit?
Have another child close by.
Vanessa was there to either lure the kids away into the back, and/or was there to keep them from screaming or running away. This also means that it's very, highly likely that she saw her father in the spring Bonny suit, kill those kids and hide their bodies. Remember, every time she talked about Freddy's and had that haunting look in her eye, we the audience heard her thoughts: screaming children.
She not only witnessed the events, she was a brainwashed participant to them.
3) "You may have forgotten your loyalties..." -- the way William said this line was filled with years of discontempt. Not just from her holding a gun at him and telling him to stop. Like, he wasn't surprised or this wasn't the first time they've seriously, seriously stood on opposing sides.
Honestly, two things on this bit: 1) Vanessa having chosen to become a police officer after knowing everything her father has done physically shows the amount of guilt she's carried into adulthood. She holds herself partly responsible for what happened, and has chosen a job that will allow her to enforce protection and safety over harm and manipulation. 2) The last thing I'm sure William would have wanted was for Vanessa to become a police officer. It puts him at danger of likely getting caught, after years of careful arrangement to prevent that from happening. When he found out that she joined the force, he was most likely livid. Scared, but livid. However, a narcissistic manipulator will never share that--instead, he most likely either blackmailed her to stay quiet (the whole "if they find out about me, I'll make sure they find out about you" spiel) OR he manipulated her. I'm more willing to believe that it's the latter, considering what she says to Mike: "If I go back and he's there... I will be useless to you. Trust me." And she said that with fear in her eyes and voice--she was aware of the power that he had over her. He's had years to break her down and become his puppet. She didn't want the chance of endangering someone that was already a victim to her father once before.
She wouldn't be able to handle that guilt.
3) "You knew!?"
So, we all know that William abducted Garrett. But like my previous points, it was something that Vanessa said that made me mentally double take:
"I didn't know when we met, but after we talked..."
**What**
After she and Mike talked about his brother, *she knew*. With only a name and some semblance of clues. Reminding here--he never said that Garrett was taken when he and his family were out camping, and he never shared a picture of Garrett to anyone, especially Vanessa. He only shared that when he was twelve, he was supposed to watch his brother and he was taken, and that he was trying to figure out who did it by way of dream theory memory retrievement. She was the one that mentioned the Nebraska pine forest poster during this talk. **Because she knew.**
Vanessa knew because she was there.
Remember when I said that I theorized Vanessa was brainwashed to help her father abduct children? Garrett's abduction would have lined up with the children disappearances at Freddy's. Mike was 12 years old when Garrett disappeared--and he's most likely in his early-to-mid twenties, most likely having been 13-15 when Abby was born (giving a three year gap, cause we don't know how their parents were with each other during that time) and Abby looks like she's somewhere between 7-10 years old, putting her birth year between 1990 and 1993. Meaning, Garrett was abducted the summer of either '87 or '88 (I'm willing to bet '87, because that's a significant year to the franchise).
It is very likely that Garrett was the first victim, to test whether or not the daddy-daughter duo that William had built by manipulating his own daughter could actually work. That she would actually follow his instructions without question and, in a heavily public setting, be able to kidnap a child from their family without struggle. Why didn't we see her in the memory dreams? She could have been sitting in the front passenger seat--Mike would not have seen her.
Again though, these are just my thoughts. These are just my theories. Decided to share them in case anyone else may have had the same thoughts--and also to get them out of my head. They've been burning holes in an already soupy brain (busy season at work--yay).

The clink of silverware against porcelain punctuated the silence, a staccato rhythm that seemed to echo in the cavern of your chest. Across from you, William’s hands were steady as he cut into his steak, but there was something about the tightness in his jaw, the way his blue eyes didn't quite meet yours, that whispered secrets.
"Sweetheart," your mother's voice sliced through the tension like the knife in William's hand through meat, "it's time we talked about a paternity test."
Your heart stuttered in your chest, a wild, frantic thing eager to escape. You swallowed hard, the mashed potatoes on your tongue now tasting like ash.
"Whoever the father is... he deserves to know," she continued, oblivious to the undercurrents swirling beneath her words.
"Of course," you agreed, the word brittle on your lips. Your gaze flickered unintentionally to William, then quickly away, fearing what might be revealed in a single glance.
He cleared his throat, a sound that rumbled deep and low, a prelude to the storm you knew brewed within him.
"It's only fair," he said, but his voice was a masterclass in control, every syllable measured, every intonation practiced.
"You can ring up the boys... see if they're willing." She was all practicality, all motherly concern, not an inkling of suspicion clouding her features. If only she knew…
"Right," you breathed out, the lie sour and heavy in your mouth.
In your bedroom, Evan's chest rose and fell with the innocent trust of sleep. Unaware. Untouched by the deceit that hung thick in the air. The door ajar, otherwise he wouldn’t sleep if he didn’t hear that you were near. As if somehow, your tiny son was aware that he had been born in a house full of dark secrets and possible danger.
Your fingers curled around your glass, the cool surface grounding you. Water, while your parents were drinking wine. Wasn’t your mom still trying for a baby? Had she finally given up now that she saw how it was to be between diapers and the soreness of giving milk?
William's gaze flitted toward the open door where your son lay oblivious to the grown-up games played at his expense.
"Will do it tomorrow," you promised, your voice a whisper of determination laced with dread.
"Good girl," your mother smiled, contentment lighting up her face. But in William's eyes, the reflection of a different kind of pride—a dark, devouring satisfaction—flickered and then died.
You pushed your plate away, appetite lost. While inside your thoughts careened like a runaway train, you tried to remain your compose. Look and act normal. But what would happen when the truth came out? What would happen when the masks fell away?
What would William do?
Because in all honesty, it wasn’t your mom and her feelings you were worried about the most any longer. She had proven time after time again to be there for you, no matter what lies had been told about you. Her two-goody-shoes daughter, suddenly a wild partying animal who had gone and get laid whilst drunk – even if she bought it she faithfully helped take care of you and your newborn son. She was so – so darn sweet! Like an angel sent from the blessed sky. If she’d forgiven you this, then you wouldn’t doubt she would forgive you the truth.
But…
Could you bear her disappointment? Right now? Could you see her so crestfallen and betrayed? Did you want to break that dam and wait whilst pain raked through you both – a pain that only time could mend?
Beside you, William scraped his throat, his thick fingers scraping past your thigh underneath the table. The horny beast. Even now he couldn’t stop touching you.
Shouldn’t he be working on one of his new robot animals? Like that yellow bunny suit he was making to resemble your favorite plushie? With the only difference that it was ten times bigger and build for him to wear?
You tried not to glance at your stepfather, not even when his fingers reassuringly squeezed your already bruised thigh. You gritted your teeth at the soreness – thanks to his latest bout of fucking, of course. The man took his chances whenever he could.
No, the real problem here was your stepfather. William was a tall, strong and dangerous man. His mind worked in ways that only left you guessing. And you had no doubt that he had hurt others in the past before to get exactly what he wanted.
If you wanted to play this game, you had to play it right.
Silently, you vowed to protect Evan from the shadows that lurked behind William's aviator glasses, from the manipulations that twisted beneath his agreeable facade. You would stand between your son and the man who wore danger like a second skin.
"Let's finish up here," your mother suggested, unaware of the battle lines being drawn right before her eyes.
"Indeed," William agreed, and his smile was a predator's grin, hidden in plain sight.
The baby slept on, his dreams untainted by the turmoil that swirled just beyond his reach.

A normal day in London, what could possibly go wrong?
Everything
"That will be 2.8 pence!", the baker enthusiastically says the total, "alright, keep the change", you say, walking out of the bakery, you're an aristocrat, a known one at that, an heir to one of the most well known and respected family, the L/N family, known for their cold nature and ability to always come up with strategies to overcome problems no matter how big they were, no matter the situation, you are the 3rd generation, in your early 20's and is expected to have a wife in the near future, you on the other hand, aren't ready for a wife, you haven't even started dating for god's sake.
On the way out, you bump into a man, "apologies...", the man mutters before looking at you, all you gave was a subtle nod before walking away as the blonde haired man stares at your figure until you inevitably dissapear into the crowd of people.
When you got back home,
"Dear, come here, we have some news", your mom said, gesturing you to sit next to her and your father.
"What is it?", you asked, "We are now working with the Moriartys, they have asked us to help them out with some their plans, this might be a good way for you to learn, son.", your father said, without a hint of emotion in his voice, typical.
"Who?", you asked, "The moriartys, they'll be arriving here shortly.", your mother answered as you took the bread you bought out of the plastic bag, placing it on the table.
A few moments later, the sound of a carriage was heard outside the l/n manor,
"That must be them", your mother comments.
"Good afternoon, Lady l/n, Lord l/n", Albert, the eldest of the three, greets as the three of them bow before walking to you, "It's a pleasure to meet you, sir l/n", he then takes your hand and kisses the backside of it making you flinch and instinctively slap his hand away, his smile doesn't waver as he gestures for his brothers to sit down as he sits next to them.
"Apologies for my son's behavior, he hasn't had a lot of interaction with others", your mom says, "That's alright Lady l/n, i shouldn't have done that all of a sudden", Albert says with a warm smile while you just sat across them, trying to process what had just happened.
"Sir l/n?", you were snapped out of your trance, turning to look at Albert without saying a single word, "would it be alright for you to show us where we will be staying?", your eyes widened, "They'll be staying for until we finish the strategies, this is the perfect time for you to make some friends, son", your dad says after seeing your expression, you just nodded, not wanting to cause a scene.
"Corridor", you said blankly, you really were trying to avoid conversations.
"These three rooms next to each other are yours, if you need anything, ring the bell next to your beds, i shall leave now", you say, walking away.
Once you got to your room, you made sure to lock it and started to write down on your journal that was on the table near the window, you wrote everything in there as you didn't have anyone to get pastry with or even talk to, not that you minded not having any friends, your life was peaceful and you liked it that way.
"Y/n", your father said at the dining table, you looked up to face him, "yes father?",
"You have to start finding a wife, i'm not going to live forever.", he sternly said,
You sighed, you already knew this was coming but never figured it would be this soon, "but...", "we have delayed it enough, son, starting next week we will be gathering all the noble maidens and you'll be choosing from one of them", your heart sunk when you heard this but all you could do was nod, "yes father..", you said before eating your dinner bitterfully as the three brothers were giving each other glances.
" sigh , what can i do to avoid this marriage...", you said to nobody in particular, trying to come up wih a plan to avoid the marriage when suddenly you hear a knocking at your door, " Excuse me sir l/n, would you be as kind as to let us in?", 'William? But why would he be up so late and visit me', you thought to yourself, "hello?", you heard another voice which seemed to have belonged to Louis, you got up to open the door, "mn?", you made a small noise as if to ask why they were at your door this late, "ah apologies for the disturbance sir, but we would like to propose a plan seeing as you don't want to be in a marriage", Albert smiled, "no thank you", you say before shutting the door, do they think you're incapable of coming up with your own plan? How ridiculous, you're an heir to a family of strategists, it would honestly be humiliating your ancestors if you didn't come up with a strategy by yourself.
"Honey, you have eyebags, did you not sleep well last night?", your mom asked as she rubbed your eyebags, "seems like i drank a bit too much caffeine, mother", you respond, trying to swat her hands away, "if you say so, if anything is troubling you, don't be scared to let me know", she says before walking away to attend to her duties, just then the three brothers walks towards you, "Good morning sir l/n, how do you feel?", Louis asks ,noticing your eyebags, "if you need, i would be honored to brew you some tea, it'll help with your tiredness", the youngest offers but you declined with a wave of your hand, "I'm alright", with those words, you walked to get your breakfast.
" Lord l/n, is it possible for you to help us with Britian's downfall", William asks as if he didnt just say something insane, you immediately look at him with shocked eyes, your father still with a stoic look, "That wouldn't be a problem", your father responded while you stared in shock once again, "f-father..?", your voice cracked a bit, "Son, you'll be assigned as their strategist", "EH?!", you yelled in shock once again, "I don't get it, father, why?", " make our ancestors proud", was all he said before he got up and left the room entirely.
You stared at the three brothers who seemed awfully calm, "so sir l/n, are you up for it?", Albert asked with a serious face, you took a big breath in and said something that would change your life forever
"Yes."
That was several weeks or even months ago, you have lost track of time by this point, if only you weren't as naive as to agree to it, maybe you could have lived a normal life.
It all started with that one word,"yes", after that, you started to spend all your time with the brothers, at first it was all casual and business related but as time flew by, they got up and personal with you, they started to call you by your first name in private then started to talk dirty with you, "i wonder what face you would make if you were pinned to the ground", "your legs would look so much better on my shoulders ", "it's so hard to resist devouring you", then the physical touch came in, touching your thighs while you were sitting next to them was a frequent thing they would do, their hands would move from your thighs to your crotch area before trailing back to your thighs, this would repeat, then they would grab your chin to face them whenever they needed attention, they became clingy, possessive.
Once you were set up to choose from hundreds of duchesses you had chosen someone to marry, the only duchess you could tolerate and see yourself with, but, she vanished with only a note next to your bed, it wae her handwriting there was no doubt about that, it had read
"Dear Sir L/n,
I regret to inform you that i think we aren't a match, i have ran away from my kingdom with the intent of starting over my life, don't try to look for me as i have made my decision
Signed, Duchess Kyesta"
It was quite odd as she was always happy around you, not even once was she sad, not showing a hint of sadness around you, her smiles were genuine, losing her made you a bit upset, while you were being upset, the three brothers consoled you, "She wasn't worth it, you deserve so much better" was something they always brought up.
The day you found out what had happened to her was the day your fate was sealed, you were snooping around one of their rooms to find a whole paper with a strategy to get 'rid' of the duchess, you were horrified and tried to hide the fact you knew what happened to her around them, but of course, they caught on,
"Hah~ our little strategist found out", Albert said, amusement lacing his words, "Guess we have little choice now", William continued.
Because of that, you were now stuck with them, with your parents now out of reach, you had nobody, no siblings, no family members who were looking for you, nobody, all you had was the brothers, "you've been so good, dear"
"We should give you a reward"
You had gotten used to being a fuck toy for them.
You sat obediently on Albert's lap as he sat on the chair, The eldest's tongue slid into your mouth as Louis licked and bit your nipples, stimulating them, William walked over to the table to grab a bottle of lube, they had bottles upon bottles of lube just for when they feel like fucking your brains out, squeezing the lube onto his fingers, he inserted 3 fingers into you immediately, causing you to yelp in shock, "shh", albert hushed you.
"How about we try something different today?", William suggested, "What is it?", "Double stuffing", he smirked, "no pleas-", you objected but albert connected his lips with yours to shut you up.
Now, the eldest's cock was inside of you as the youngest was preparing his own cock to thrust into your hole, with every inch his cock got closer, you braced for the pain before it was in, "ahhh!", you moaned yet yelled before William gripped your hair and made you suck his hard cock, you gagged on his length, the three brothers were in no way average, their sizes were beyond that.
As both the youngest and eldest's cocks were inside of you, they began to move slowly, not wanting to hurt their precious fuck toy, "You like this huh? What a slut", William taunted, he wasn't exactly wrong, you enjoyed every second of their cocks in both your holes, eventually the two began thrusting faster into you, you closed your eyes while william also throat fucked you hard, "It's so tight here!", Albert commented, you moaned but since William's cock wad inside of you, no sound came out, your voice only vibrated his cock a bit, making him moan out of pleasure.
"I could cum right now, you feel so good inside~", your body was getting absolutely destroyed by the pair of siblings, not having the energy to even fight back, you let it happen, you could feel your release close, as if on cue, the two brothers inside of you came, shooting both their loads inside of you while William fucked your throat harder, "I'm cumming, dear~", was all he said before climaxing.
As soon as their cocks were out of you, your body layed limp on Albert's chest, you could barely keep your eyes open, fighting the urge to pass out, but it was all in vain, the last thing you saw and heard was 2 of the brothers infront of you,
"You're all ours now, nobody else's"

Summary: Teenage Michael has a messy mullet that he cut himself and a piercing on his lower lip that he did the hell knows where. Michael is the first kid in the Afton family. Michael grew up surrounded by the love of his mother, but never of his father. Since he was born, William has shown no affection for him. And little boy never understood why, if he seemed to have everything William wanted. After all, he was very interested in mechanics and robotics, he always begged his father to show him how he creates these wonders of technology. But William, being a disgusting father, never did this, refused to do it. When Elizabeth was born, Michael was initially happy that he had a sister. The young man always took care of her and played with her until he noticed that his father behaved way differently with her than with him.
And it caused him heartache. He watched them and didn't understand why he didn't deserve the same. And his mother, as it seemed to him, cared about the little girl more than about him. That's what offended Michael the most: he felt as if his mother had replaced him with Elizabeth, all the toys were bought just for her, all her whims were fulfilled in one second, she was never even punished. Is that even fair?
That's when his youthful maximalism manifested itself. Michael started running away from home and skipping classes. And he knew perfectly well that William didn't like it, and he was doing it to spite him, trying to get revenge for horrible treatment.
But it only made it worse for Michael, because he was always caught and punished, or worse, his most beloved game console was taken away. William began to apply more and more punishments to him, taking away pocket money or grounding him for the whole weekend. But most of all, Michael never understood his mother: why did she let all this happen? Why did she always turn a blind eye to what her husband was doing?
“Does your father know that you smoke?” you ask, giving him a light. Michael puts his hands in his pockets and shakes his head. You're both not dating, but you're pretty close to it. You met at some rock concert where some random guy was trying to molest you, and Michael punched him right in the face, breaking his nose. It was in front of everyone's eyes, and after that, Michael was finally noticed by a group of "cool" teenagers. You didn't like them because they were nothing more than bullies, but Michael never listened to you.
“Does your mom know who you're so pretty for?”
“You fool.” you smile and roll your eyes. Michael may be a fool, but he always manages to embarrass you with his stupid flirts.
Teenage Michael has a messy mullet that he cut himself and a piercing on his lower lip that he did the hell knows where. But he's dressed like a rock star: a black leather jacket and ripped jeans, a million chains, only a guitar is missing, and you already know what his birthday present will be.
Michael got used to Elizabeth because you putted into his head that it wasn't her fault, and she's just a kid like himself. It's the fault of his parents, who don't know how to give equal love to both, the fault of his idiotic dad, who thinks he can raise his son by beating him. Michael agreed with you, and the two of you never talked about it again.
“Did you get into a fight again?” you're like a mom to him and at the same time already a girlfriend. “What kind of kindergarten is this?”
“It wasn't me, they started it.” Michael's kindergarten will probably never leave him. “What? I'm telling the truth!”
He's sitting in your kitchen eating hot soup like he's been starving for ages. You know that's not true, but his diet is really terrible, all those snacks and sodas, why is it so hard to eat normal food? And Michael told you why. Because his father went so far as not to allow his son to have lunch or breakfast with family. William only allowed his wife and Elizabeth to sit at the same table with him, but as soon as he sees Michael, he points to the door, like, "get the hell out of here." And when Michael later comes to the kitchen to eat, William pours all the remaining food into the toilet in front of him.
Michael's eyes are so wide and huge after the news that his mother is pregnant with another, third child. He doesn't know how to react, in panic he runs to your house and tells you about it. You didn't understand much yourself, but you tried to assure him that maybe this third child would be a turning point. Maybe after he's born, William will change. But you don't believe yourself.
How sad that you were wrong. Evan gets more attention than even Elizabeth, but however she doesn't mind. Unlike Michael, she runs around the baby all day, trying to entertain him. Evan likes his sister's company, but when Michael arrives, something clicks in the little boy's head, and he becomes quiet, not talkative, as if Michael scares him. But in fact, Evan is more afraid of his brother and William's argues than Michael himself. And when these turn into fights, Evan becomes hysterical and runs to hide in the closet of his room. William is well aware that Michael started showing his fangs a long time ago, but when he says something to him in an aggressive tone or slams the door too loudly, the man can't help himself.
“Michael, don't you dare bully Evan.” you're mad at your boyfriend because he came to you with his proud face again as he made his little brother cry again. “God, how many times have I explained to you, this is a kid. You're only ruining his psyche!”
Michael just clenches his teeth and his fists. He's as angry as you are, of course he knew you wouldn't pat him on the head for it, but why are you protecting this pathetic boy?
Michael hates his father, he is angry that he cannot respond to his reproaches and provocations like a "real man", so he takes out all his aggression on Evan. Michael is a coward.
Michael cries, punches the walls and swears at himself. He couldn't forgive his father for killing his sister, but what Michael never thought about was that it would happen to Evan, too. With fucking Evan. Who could have even known that Fredbear’s jaw would shut?! Michael couldn't move as he watched the little child's head being torn apart. He heard that hideous, ugly sound of a skull splitting, which still haunts him in nightmares.
In his nightmares, he runs to save Evan, to pull him out of the animatronic's grip, but he can't do anything. He fails because his father holds his hand tightly enough that Michael feels a phantom touch when he wakes up. William holds his wrist and laughs, preventing him from saving his brother, while Evan dies for the hundredth time. This is repeated every night.
Michael is no longer a rock star. Michael is depressed and needs psychological help.
Michael cut off his idiotic mullet and threw out all his leather jackets with ripped jeans, took off his piercings. But at least now Michael has the guitar you gave him for his birthday. That one is now lying dusty in the corner of his room, where Michael never goes. He just stopped showing up at his father's house, yes, not at his house, but at his father's house. Because this was never Michael's house.
Michael still smiles only at you and tries to make stupid flirts, but they don't bother you anymore. Instead, they are disturbing, worrying you.
Michael has lost everyone except you.
“When I die, I'm sure you'll be my devil in hell. Know why? Because you're hella hot, baby.“ Michael makes a sound like laughter.
You're trying to put on your face something like a smile.
Michael is so young, and he's already joking about death. But Michael wouldn't joke about death if he wasn't already dead.
Michael died in 1983. He died after his sister and brother.
“You're going to marry me, right? When we get out of here and move to another state.” There's uncertainty in his voice.
“Of course.” you don't believe him, of course not. “I love you very much.” you hold him close to you, stroke his hair and try your best to hope that everything will be fine.
Michael loves to kiss you, hug you, cuddle, rub his nose against yours, lying in your bed. Michael's body is still warm, that means he's still alive. Michael still has a headache, he can still bleed, he can still catch a cold, he still has an appetite. Michael is still alive, and that's all that matters to you.
Michael prefers not to tell where his mother disappeared, he just says that she divorced William immediately after Elizabeth's death. Yes, she divorced William and left her own son with this monster, Michael still thinks it's impossible. He's just scared to think differently, he's afraid, so he makes it up to make it easier.
“You're going to love me even if I’ll smell like a piece of shit, right?“ Michael is weird. He asks you about it almost every day, even though he never smells bad.
“Michael, my love,” you know you have to be kind to him, no matter what idiotic questions he asks. You really love him very much, but sometimes these questions take you by surprise. “even if you turn into a living walking corpse, I’ll still love you.”
Michael chuckles, his nightmares telling otherwise.
Michael has grown up, now he works as a night guard. He hates his job, but he can't tell you why he's working there. He just makes excuses by saying that he gets paid a lot of money.
It's Michael's stupid habit of keeping everything inside. You know that's not the reason, you know there's something wrong with your boyfriend, but as soon as he comes home early in the morning, exhausted, you don't dare ask him anything.
Michael hates purple colour.
Sometimes you feel like you're distancing from each other because he disappears all night at work and then sleeps at home all day. But you still love him very much and hope that one day you will both get married. But Michael begs you, in case of a wedding, not to wear a purple dress. Any colour, but not purple.
You're starting to worry about Michael's physical health. Michael refuses to eat and kiss. Michael wears more oversized clothes, even though it's damn hot outside. Michael says he's going to sleep in the other room on the couch. One night you try to check if Michael is really asleep.
No, he's not.
Michael hides his face from you and doesn't go out much. Michael doesn't shower, he doesn't even wash his hands.
All of this scares you, you don't understand what happened to your boyfriend. These sudden changes happened too quickly. You try to talk to him, but Michael's voice sounds strange. He doesn't even turn his head when he talks to you.
The smell in the house is becoming more and more terrible, almost unbearable. You've already thrown out all the garbage, done the general cleaning, even poisoned non-existent insects.
You can't take it anymore, so you're trying to clear it up. When Michael comes home, you're already standing in the hallway waiting for him. Your boyfriend is surprised, he hides his face in a mask and tries to sneak into another room.
“Darling, stop avoiding me, please!” you try approach him, hug him. Michael pulls away. You notice that the smell comes from him, not from the house. “What's been going on with you lately?”
Michael is tired of living like this, avoiding you. He wants to feel your touch again, wants to kiss you, wants to go back to bed with you, wants to cook with you, wants to dream with you about your future wedding. Which will never happen.
“Promise me you won't run away.” his voice is scary, sounds like a robotic one. You nod. And that's when Michael finally takes off these damn clothes, takes off his… wig, sunglasses and mask. He opens his soul to you again, if he still has it, of course.
You don't really know how to comment on what's in front of you. It's Michael, but at the same time it's not him. It's a skeleton covered in skin. He has no teeth, there’s terrifying white pupils burn in his empty eye sockets.
“I can't believe it's you... what... what even happened?” you're surprised you can say anything at all after such a shock.
He's not answering. His dead white pupils pierce into yours, alive ones. Michael does hates purple and how cruelly life has treated him, painting his skin this cadaverous color.
“I smell like a piece of shit, right?” Michael tries to smile, even though he doesn't have to try. His jaw was permanently frozen in a deadly grin. “Y/n… You remember what you told me, right?”
You nod. “Even if you turn into a living walking corpse, I’ll still love you.” you remember and dont give up your words.
“I still love you, Michael.” as sad as it may sound, but it’s truth, you really love Michael and you can't imagine life without him. “I… I promise I will never leave you.”
Michael sighs with relief. You finally want to hug him, but he pulls away again and waves his hand as a sign that he smells like a corpse. You don't care, you've been through too much in the last few days, and now you just want to feel his body next to you again, even if it's fucking smelly and cold. You pull him closer and try not to breathe. You get a shock from yourself because you're hugging a literally dead person. But there is only one thing…
Michael didn’t die right now, he died back in 1983.
