King Dice x Reader - "First Meeting"
King Dice x Reader - "First Meeting" (GAME)
King Dice loves to work in the casino. He has to, otherwise, his life would be absolutely miserable. His deal with the Devil really left him with no other choice.
There’s nothing more satisfying to him than watching those who are stupid enough to walk inside the building lose everything they had worked for. He relishes in the tears of the foolish.
He also basks in the attention he gets from the ladies, the gentlemen and everyone in between. No matter who has fallen in love with Dice’s looks, the man accepts it wholeheartedly. Enjoys it, even. Multiple times, he’s found himself sitting in the head chair of the Grand Hazard table, with one person on each arm, two behind him with their hands on his shoulders, and even the occasional one sitting in his lap.
There is rarely ever a dull moment in the Devil’s casino. There’s always something to keep Dice entertained, whether it’s a tussle between the drunkards, a particularly exciting derby, or even some new drink concoctions the Tipsy Troop came up with. There’s always something.
Except… those things start to bore Dice.
Sure, they’re enough to grab the manager’s attention, but the time span that these things keep his attention has slowly been dwindling.
As invigorating as the job is, the routine has started to become too predictable. Get up. Go to work. Fawn over the attention. Sign soul contracts. Go home. It’s like clockwork. Every single day.
It’s not to say that Dice is getting tired of his job. Oh, no. Not even close. The man just wishes that things could be a little more exciting sometimes. The shifts are long and tiring, it’d be nice to see at least a little change, to make the day pass by faster.
Eventually, though, Dice gets his wish.
The day you started showing up.
Oh, hell, you are captivating. Your confidence as you strut through the double doors, catching every eye as you mosey your way down to the bar. The clacking of your shoes against the marble floor. The way you shoot a warning glare at anyone who tries to make a move on you. Good heavens, you’re a feisty one.
Dice likes that. A lot.
His legs sneakily carry him over to the edge of the bar, where he eavesdrops on your conversation with Ginette as she takes your order.
You order a glass of the Old Fashioned, on the rocks. A strong, yet simple drink that hits all the right notes.
What an excellent choice. Dice didn’t take you for someone who liked the liquors. He was expecting a classic red wine, or even a martini.
How… unpredictable you are. Just what Dice needed, to bring back the spunk and glitz the casino had lost.
You take your drink, and you brush past the manager, not even noticing him as you make your way past the slot machines. Past the derby area. It seems you have your heart set on something that requires more than just luck.
You take your seat at the Poker table, sipping at your cocktail with the dealer casually sliding you a hand of cards.
You’re after what skill can bring. You’re one of the intelligent ones.
You certainly know the way right to King Dice’s heart. And now, he’s just GOTTA  have you.
He watches you. Intently. From a distance, at first. He doesn’t want to scare you away from intimidation, but in all honesty, the looks you cast his way tell him that scaring you should be the least of his worries.
Those looks also let him know that you know he has his eyes on you. You know you’ve fallen into his spotlight. But unlike the others, you aren’t pulled towards him like a moth to a flame. No… you have other things on your mind.
Like the poker game in front of you. You’re so concentrated and determined; you know damn well what you’re doing. Dice can see it in your eyes, from his position at the bar.
You’ve got a good poker face, but those beautiful eyes of yours are very telling. You think you’re about to win big. And goodness, when you glance up from your hand and cast him a suspicious look from your seat?
He’s gotta get your name. He needs to know just who you are. To let you slip between his fingers would be the biggest mistake of his life.
While you’re focused on your cards, Dice slowly makes his way over to your table, momentarily looking over the other players. ‘Watching for cheating,’ so to speak. Then, he steps behind you, smirking delightedly as he gets a peek at your hand.
Looks like you’ve got yourself a straight. Not a terrible hand, but there certainly are better hands out there. But it doesn’t look like you’re making any moves for replacement cards. And, your bet seems to be rather high.
Dice wonders if you’ve got little faith in your fellow players, or if you’ve just never played the game before. Maybe if he offers a bit of advice, he’ll be able to make you melt, just as he had with all the others who played hard to get.
“You sure you wanna keep these cards, dear?” The die whispers sweetly, fondly. “It looks like you’ve got a rather low hand, with a high bet.”
To Dice’s surprise, you let out a soft chuckle, leaning over and whispering right back, “thank you for your input, sir. But I’m quite alright. It seems that you may need to look into buying some glasses, though…”
Ohhh, ouch. What a blow to Dice’s ego. He can’t believe you had the gall to speak to him in such a manner, all for trying to give you a little tip. While he’d usually go after those who speak like that, he just loves your attitude. It drives him nuts.
He’s gotta see where this goes. What exactly drove you to refuse his advice? What kind of tricks do you have up your sleeve?
The dealer calls for the players’ hands. You confidently set your cards down, the other players groaning softly in defeat, as the winnings are pushed towards you. Confused, Dice takes another glance at your cards, and his stomach does a somersault at the sight.
A straight flush. All spades.
How could he have missed that?!
Dice looks over at you, and is met with your confident eyes staring right back at him. Aw, hell, you’ve got him hooked.
“Spades and clubs do look rather similar, don’t they?” You smirk, amusedly patting his shoulder. “I don’t blame you. It took me a little while to get used to the symbols when I first started out.”
The manager is at a loss for words. He knows damn well the difference between a club and a spade, he’s worked these casino floors for over half his life. But how could you be so condescending, and yet… so oddly kind at the same time? And how in hell are you so good with your wit?
He needs to introduce himself, before he loses his composure.
“That was a very swell game indeed, my eyes must have missed the symbols… I don’t believe I’ve introduced myself yet. I’m—”
“Oh there’s no need for that, sir. I know exactly who you are.” You smile, calmly. Coolheaded. “The legendary King Dice of the Devil’s Casino. Anyone in the Isles who doesn’t know who you are would be a fool.”
With his heart skipping several beats, the King quickly forms a smooth reply.
“Well, since you seem to know so much about me, what about telling me about yourself? How about putting a personality to that pretty face of yours, doll?”
You smirk, shaking your head and finishing off your liquor. Standing, you grab your winnings and hand him your empty glass, straightening up Dice’s bow tie for him.
“Now, why would I talk about myself with a stranger, Dice? You of all people know the dangers of slipping out too much information.”
“Aw, you’re hurting my heart, sugar. Not even your name? Something so simple?”
“Hm… Alright, King of Hearts. The name’s (y/n). Don’t use it too much now, or you might just grow tired of me.”
And with that, you’re gone, leaving Dice speechless, longing for more. Just how he had left so many others before.
Good god. Now he understands what he’s put them through. It hurts. It hurts so damn good. There’s no way he could ever be tired of you, especially with a name like that. He needs to see you again. As much as possible.
He can’t wait for your return. And thankfully, he doesn’t need to wait for long.
You come back again, the next day. And the day after that. And soon enough, you’ve become a regular, slipping into the mundane routine Dice had gotten so bored of.
Except… you take away the normalcy. Every day you come by, the routine is just slightly different.
Sure, you walk in, ignore the peepers, grab your usual cocktail and make your way to the poker table. One game. You win, every time. And then, you leave. It’s like clockwork.
Except… the conversations you have with Dice. Those are slightly different. Every time.
He tries to learn more about you. You shut him down, with a slight tease. You laugh as he fails to form a coherent reply. You leave, with Dice watching you. But every time you talk, you humor him just a little more. Driving him closer to what he wants.
The more you come by, the more crazy he gets about you. He switches his tasks around on the schedules, making sure he is always available at the poker table and the bar. Just so he has an excuse to see more of you. To learn more about you.
Dammit, all you’ve given him is your name. That, along with the small details he’s picked up just from watching you, is not very much to work with. He needs more.
He needs to take you out of this suffocating atmosphere. To bring you somewhere nice and quiet, where you can get to know each other outside of your casino affiliations.
A date. He needs to take you on a date.
He tries to be straight forward, at first. The next time you come by, during your usual conversation, he asks you to indulge in his fantasies, just for one night.
“One date, darlin’. A night away from this casino’s chaos and craziness. Let me find out more about what makes those gears in your head turn.”
“What a direct approach, King. But I’m sorry, I’m afraid you’re going to have to do better than that. There’s just not a reason for me to accept your offer.”
Your voice is smooth, confident, with a hint of teasing. But there is something that Dice catches—something you had hoped he wouldn’t. Longing.
The man is so. Damn. Close. He just needs to figure out a way to tip you over the edge.
You take his hand, guiding it towards your empty glass so he can take it back to the bar for cleaning.
Even with the gloves Dice is wearing, he can feel just how soft your skin is. It’s warm. Comforting. Addicting. Good gracious, you’re driving him insane.
He watches you leave with a spring in your step, his eyes trailing down to the casino’s glossy marble flooring. After some deep thought, the man gets an idea. And for him, it’s brilliant.
If he’s going to grab your attention for good, he needs to catch you off guard. Like a game of cat and mouse.
You’ve always been great on your feet—you haven’t missed a step once in the time you’ve come to the casino. Dice wonders… What if you weren’t so good one night? What if something were to cause a simple slip, and who would catch you if something like that were to happen?
Well, there’s an easy answer to each of those questions.
When Dice orders for Wheezy and Chips to grease certain spots on the floor during cleanup, well, the two underlings know better than to question their boss. Still, it is rather peculiar how Dice only wants part of the floor to be greased.
But there’s a method to the King’s madness. A method that only he can really understand. And you know what? That’s alright.
The next day, before his shift, Dice sands the bottoms of his shoes. It breaks his heart a little, these shoes are expensive, but it has to be done. How is he supposed to be your knight if he slips right along with you?
To make a damn good impression, he pulls out the finest suit he has; one he saves only for special occasions. To him, this is certainly important enough. His choice of clothing, paired with the finest cologne he has is perfect for this night. Everything is in its rightful place.
Now, all he needs is you.
And when you arrive, it’s the most beautiful hee ever seen you.
You’ve got such a fantastic choice in fashion, he wonders if that’s part of your line of work. The way your hair is done is just that much more striking, and that award winning smile to top it all off?
Goodness, Dice better not mess this up.
You immediately notice the slipperiness of the floor as you walk over to the bar, thinking nothing of it. You’ve walked in worse things before, and you haven’t tripped. Surely, you think, you can handle some tile that’s been cleaned a little extra.
You grab your drink of choice, and carefully make your way to your favorite table, sitting in your usual spot. Your favorite dealer looks especially handsome today, you think to yourself as your eyes linger over Dice’s looming form for longer than they should.
The man simply chuckles warmly in response, shuffling his deck with the occasional card trick thrown in before passing out the hands.
You call, raising the open bet with that familiar confident gleam in your eye. The one that Dice had fallen in love with all those days ago. None of the other players have that confidence.
Looks like your skill and luck take you far, yet again.
Your royal flush steals the show, and you’ve gotta say, that’s probably your biggest win yet. You watch in satisfaction as the chips are slid towards you, finishing off your glass and setting it off to the side.
Well, that’s the game of the night. You stand, acknowledging Dice as you trade in your heaping pile of small chips for a few large ones, for you to keep in your pocket. The man seems more assured than usual today.
You cast him a wink before stepping away from the table, walking off with your winning chips in your pocket. Unfortunately, it seems that you’ve forgotten all about the greased floor.
Before you know it, your foot slips from under you, and you start to fall, bracing yourself for a harsh contact with the unforgiving tile.
That contact never comes.
Instead, something else catches you nearly halfway. Something soft, silky, and smelling of Caron Poivre. Oh. Oh.
That something is King Dice himself, grinning warmly down at you, his arm behind your back, and his free hand sweetly cupping your face.
Now, it’s his turn to tease you, after all this time. It’s his turn to catch your aching heart, as you had done to him that first day you arrived.
“Goodness, sweetheart. I know I’ve been trying to grab your attention for a while now, but I never figured I’d have to physically sweep you off your feet. Don’t tell me you’ve lost your touch after all this time, because of one measly drink…”
For once, you’re frozen. You’ve got no retort, no comeback. Nothing to say. You just… stare. You take the time to look into his eyes, and inwardly scold yourself for avoiding them all this time. They really are a pretty sight for sore eyes.
Those pupils of his are expanded so much you’re surprised you can still see a bit of those famous bright green irises. And they are just sparkling with want. Infatuation.
You can’t look for long. Otherwise, you just might never be able to stop. Finally, you try to form some type of response, so he doesn’t have to stand there and hold you inches from the ground forever.
“I… well, I just…”
“What’s the matter, dear? Cat got your tongue?”
Dammit, he’s gotten good at this. He looks at you so expectantly, waiting for a response, but with that strikingly handsome face? You’ve lost the words you had been trying desperately to gather up.
He’s got you, after all this time telling yourself you wouldn’t fall for his trap. He’s got you good.
“I… t-thank you, King…”
He chuckles warmly, sending a few butterflies right into your stomach.
“Don’t mention it, baby. I’d never blame you for slipping on these floors—the grease is always hard to walk over. It’s caught me a few times before, even.”
Slowly, he helps you stand on your feet once again, and you brush yourself off, not making any move to leave. Not anymore. You’ve gotten so hooked, your caution has been thrown out the window.
“I guess I owe you a drink, for saving my life like that.”
Dice laughs. And fuck, it’s beautiful. It’s loud, deep, and so so powerful. It takes everything in you not to lock your lips onto his right there. Fuck.
He’s hooked you tighter than anyone else he’s ever had.
“Don’t you worry your pretty little head about all that. It’s on me, doll. But only on one condition.”
“And what would that be, King?”
“You let me take you out to The Ritz for dinner.”
Damn him. Damn that no-good, rotten, sleazy casino manager, always making deals. Tempting deals that are hard to say no to.
Aw, hell. What’s the point in life if you don’t take any risks once in a while?
“Alright, lover boy. I’ll indulge you with that date. Now come on, an Old Fashioned seems to be calling my name over at the bar.”
That deal turned out to be the best decision of your life.
King Dice x Reader - "First Meeting" (SHOW)
If there’s anything a master of ceremonies like King Dice loves most, it’s attention. Power. Influence. Money. Especially money. What else is supposed to pay for his high maintenance lifestyle? The term “money doesn’t buy happiness” is utter bullshit to the star.
And boy, does Dice get what he wants. All the time. The spoiled Devil’s lackey NEVER hears the word no. It’s really not in his vocabulary. If the King says jump, the servants say “how high, sir?” If he says bow, his fans are on their knees. Some even kneel down before he can finish the word.
A beautiful penthouse separated from the rest of the “common folk” of Inkwell. The top show on the radio, that plays for hours, every single day the channels run. An adoring and loyal audience, who would do absolutely anything he would ask of them.
The finest clothes money can buy. Five star meals from only the most expensive and high end restaurants. Endless jewels and other expensive trinkets to keep the showman happy. A simple card butler at every door, and several laying out his carpet. His own limo, and driver. Staff that take care of the home duties while he relaxes.
Really, how could you get any more fulfilled than that?
Well, King Dice could certainly tell you how.
Everything he has is fantastic, and he wouldn’t trade any of it away, sure. That’s a given. He does love his extravagant life he’s signed a contract to. However, after so many days, weeks, months, years of doing the same damn thing, over and over again, things start to get pretty old. Pretty fast.
And sure, the parties, acting/musical gigs, and other various events of celebrities do bring about the variety to spice up the day, but even so, something is still missing.
Of course, being the fantastic actor Dice is, he’s learned to hide his boredom when on the air, or in front of an audience in general. He’s learned to lie, very easily. Though, that may just be part of his nature. Dice has always been a good liar.
But god, he needs some change to his luxurious yet excruciatingly boring life. Something to keep his attention.
Thankfully, his prayers start to get answered.
Dices audience switches up in terms of people and their seating arrangement, every night. The variety helps bring some newness to his beloved show, when things start to get a little too dry and repetitive.
However… Recently, there’s been one person who’s started showing up to the show every night. In the same exact seat, without fail. Always the first one to arrive, and the last to leave.
You.
But although you are there the longest, loyally sitting in your seat with all the others, you aren’t as overly enthusiastic as the rest of his fans.
No… it’s like you’re watching a movie by yourself. You sit, silently, with a small smile on your face. It’s oddly comforting to the star, seeing you watching him intently. Not making a damn scene, like the other folks who just can’t get enough of him.
You’re there for the after-show, when Dice is surrounded by his overly excited fans, BEGGING him for autographs and pictures from the press. But you don’t smother him. You simply watch behind the crowd, with that damn smile on your face.
You’re the final one there, but before he can offer an autograph or even just a chat, you’re walking off. It confuses him. You confuse him so much.
Why on earth would you stay so long and then just leave, without saying anything? Are you shy? No, you don’t seem like the shy type. Your smile isn’t from being flustered. You smile warmly. Boldly. Like you simply stick around to watch Dice for entertainment, and nothing more.
The man watches you leave, staying in place until you turn a corner, disappearing into the night. He stands, contemplates for a few moments, before heading inside his waiting limo, his mind still trying to wrap around you. To understand you.
Night after night. Every single show. You’ve become part of Dice’s daily customs, except he never gets bored. In fact, the more you show up, the more interested he gets.
The outfits you wear get prettier and prettier to him. That smile of yours starts to make him blush, right there on that stage. You start causing him to fumble a little, each time you catch his glance. Good lord, what are you doing to him?
No, there’s no question. Dice knows exactly what he’s feeling, but he’s too conflicted to admit his feelings. Dammit, he’s in love.
He’s in love with someone he hasn’t even properly met.
It’s unfair. It’s so unfair, how you know so much about him, and yet, he knows absolutely nothing about you. And you don’t even give him the chance to learn. You leave before he can say anything.
After a while, Dice can’t help but follow from a distance. Nothing too crazy, he’s no creep, but he just wants to see just where you end up every evening. The route you turn on doesn’t typically lead to any residences, so you’re not going home.
Dice discovers that you head to the nearby bar every night. The building is just a few doors down from the studio, really not a far walk at all. It’s where he finds you every night as he rides by slowly. He’s caught bits and pieces of you sitting at a stool by the counter, sipping away at whatever drink you fancy.
That’s the one thing he’s got on you. You like having a drink after his shows. Nothing super telling, but interesting nonetheless.
And with interest comes determination. Dice needs to find out more about you. He needs to hear your voice. Get your name. Anything.
You’re like a parasite that Dice welcomes with open arms. You latch onto his brain, taking complete control over his thoughts. The game show host is more distracted during his performances, only showing emphasis and charisma because he knows you’re there. In fact, he’s more passionate about what he does, as long as it keeps your attention.
Every laugh he coaxes out of you when he says something witty and funny. Every clap you give him after he finishes with his introduction and his signature exit. Every lingering stare, where you both lock eyes with each other. You’ve got beautiful eyes, shining with wonder and energy. He could get lost in them, if he didn’t have a show to run.
All of these things drive him to do his job well. As long as he keeps you of all people happy and entertained, well, that’s now enough for him. All he needs now, is who exactly you are.
Another signing session after his show. He runs through each paper quickly, honestly just trying to get everyone out of his hair fast enough to keep you still. His eyes search for you the entire time, barely even paying attention to his audience. He doesn’t care about them.
Just you.
They finally start to dissipate, and Dice finally catches your eyes again. Just as you’re starting to leave. Before you can get too far, this time, a gloved hand grabs your wrist.
“Wait-!”
You pause, your head turning back to the host who’s staring at you with unusual kindness, it almost breaks you. Almost.
“I… sweetheart, you’ve always been the last to leave, but you’ve never even said a word. You haven’t asked for a single autograph or photo. So tell me, why? Come now, just tell me a little about yourself.”
The look he gives you is so entrancing, you’re so close to caving in. You can tell he’s trying so hard, you’ve seen it since the beginning. As soon as he saw you.
But of course, you’re not stupid. King Dice is a showman at heart, and there’s nothing he loves more than his career. Some random, quiet fan wouldn’t change that at all.
“Sorry, sir, but I know your type. It’d be dangerous to say too much, and I don’t want to take any chances.”
You smile, taking his hand tenderly, and giving it a gentle squeeze before removing it from your wrist.
“But I will say, you’ve got quite the gig going on here. You’ve caught my interest, that’s for sure.”
And with that, you walk away, just as you have every night. Leaving the star to watch you disappear, wishing he had more. Leaving him with more questions than answers. Leaving him to his thoughts, which are riddled with your face. Your eyes. Your voice.
It was the first time Dice had heard you speak, and god, the sound is heavenly to him. It’s a shame you left so soon, before he even got the chance to hear more from you.
To the limo he walks, allowing his driver to take him home. He’s glued to the window, his eyes scanning the bar for your presence as the limo slowly makes its way through the busy streets. And there you are, in your usual seat, swirling a glass of your favorite drink. The view only lasts a few seconds, but those moments are precious.
What he wouldn’t give to be beside you, sharing a bottle of rosé wine, lamenting to you about just how hard it is to keep up a professional appearance all the time. How he sometimes feels jealous of you, someone normal, someone who never has to pretend.
Laughing with you. Joking around, and sharing stories from all of Dice’s career adventures. Hearing stories from you, about how you spend your time outside of coming to the show. Slowly scooting closer to one another, glasses in hand, your drinks clinging together in a toast. A toast to normalcy and good fortune.
A toast to love.
Hell, if you’d let him, maybe he’d even kiss you. How beautiful would that be, to taste the alcohol on your lips? To share a beloved connection with someone who seems to care about him?
Dammit, Dice’s feelings have reached a crazy degree. He can’t deny it to himself anymore, he needs you. You’re the piece that he’s been missing in his life. Maybe, with you, he’d finally have that sense of wholeness again.
The entire drive home, Dice thinks. Thinks of how to sweep you off your feet. How to get you to return his affection. What he can do to make his dreams come to reality.
A solution is a lot harder than he thought it would be. For the first time in a while, Dice is stumped.
You never leave his head, even when he falls asleep that night. You haunt his dreams.
The routine is the same, the next time you show up to his performance. You watch him host with a warm smile on your face. He meets you out front, after the rest of his fans have been taken care of. You move to leave, and he grabs your hand yet again, striking up another conversation.
“C’mon, doll, don’t leave me hanging like this. I don’t know how much more I can take. You know so much about me already, but what about you? Give me something to work with, here.”
You laugh softly at his insistence, and Dice isn’t sure he’s heard a more beautiful sound in his life. You’re more intoxicating than even the strongest whiskey he stores in his mini bar.
You take his hand like you had before, but this time, your touch lingers ever so slightly.
“I’m not sure what a brilliant showman like yourself is doing, trying to learn about someone like me. I’m really not all that special, sir.
Dice shakes his head, gently squeezing your hand, savoring the softness of your skin. The electrifying warmth you send through his hand, up his arm, right into his heart.
“There’s gotta be more to yourself than you’re letting on, I see it in your eyes. Humor me a little, here. At least put a name to that beautiful face of yours.”
You smile softly, turning towards him completely. Cocking your head to your side, you look at him in amused confusion, letting him continue holding your hand.
“It seems like you’ve got your heart caught up in a tussle, King Dice. Alright, I’ll give you my name, if you can answer this for me: why me, out of all these people? You’ve got fans who would bend over backwards to make you their groom, why have your heart out for the quiet observer?”
“I…you just interest me, is all. You’re different. Much different. You have that aura of mystery surrounding you, and I want to break it away. Now please, darling, your name?”
You smirk at his answer, kindly rubbing your thumb over his knuckles before letting go of his hand, turning away once again.
“You’re getting closer, sir. But you’re not quite there yet.”
With a soft laugh, you walk away. Again. Dammit, you’re making this so difficult, the suspense is driving Dice mad.
Slowly, hesitantly, he walks to his limo as usual, climbing inside. He stares at the hand you had held, intently, wondering just how he’s supposed to get you to crack.
The slow approach just isn’t working. Dice needs to be bolder. He needs to catch you when you least expect it…
He’s never accompanied you to the bar before. He’s always just watched you go, debating on whether or not he should. Well, now, he’s made up his mind.
This has to work.
That night was the last show of the week, giving Dice a day off in between. Normally, he finds joy in his time away from everyone else, using up his chance to have some alone time. But now? All it does is fuel his impatience. That day is the longest he’s ever had, with half of it consisting of clock-watching alone.
Finally, Monday comes. Dice is back in business. And today, he’s going to pull off a trick that will surely catch you. It has to. The showman is on his last leg.
His staff have never seen him practice so hard during rehearsal. Dice runs through the motions over and over again, even when he’s got the routine nailed down perfectly.
Makeup is the same way. Applying the eyeshadow and mascara. Removing it when it appears to be too cakey. Applying again, lighter this time, with a little blush for good measure. Better, but barely noticeable. Adding another layer of the purple shadow, along with fresh pigment over his pips.
With his makeup perfect, his performance perfectly memorized, and his suit straightened, Dice has one of the best show nights he’s had in a long time. His audience notices. His band notices. He’s sure even his boss notices, way down in hell.
You notice. And that’s what he cares about. He sees it in your eyes. That beautiful glimmer that keeps him motivated.
And the performance isn’t even Dice’s main trick. This is going perfectly.
Granted, due to the fantastic night, Dice was kept back just a little longer than he’d like, greeting, signing, and smiling for photos. His cheeks are throbbing by the time he takes care of the last person.
But this time, you wait. When you would usually be gone by this time, you decided to stay just a little longer. And Dice almost forgets his mission out of surprise.
“You did great tonight, King.” You smile warmly, grasping his hand in yours.
You both stand there for a little while, smiling warmly at each other, just silently enjoying the company. And then, like all the other nights, you let him go, and you leave.
And this time, Dice is okay with that.
Stepping into the limo, he directs his driver towards a parking spot at your favorite bar’s side door, where he won’t be noticed by the public. The last thing he wants is for the press to butt in on this moment. He needs peace for once.
Quiet and humble, Dice walks inside the bar, immediately looking at where you usually sit. A lonely stool, in front of the bar counter. Surrounded by empty seats. Perfect.
You swirl your glass of scotch in your hand, eyeing the drink as you contemplate to yourself. You wonder if you should let go of your danger sense, and take the risk.
Should you give him your name the next time you see him? Should you let him show you a different side to his charismatic persona? A side that only you would ever get to see?
“Scotch, hm? An interesting drink of choice, but I think it fits you. You’ve got the strong boldness that comes in the drink.”
Looks like you’ve got a choice to make.
You look over to the side, smiling fondly when you see the very same showman you had just walked away from, sitting beside you as the bartender whips up his drink.
“Well, look what the cat dragged in. I never took you for someone who goes to the bar, King Dice… you seem more of the type to have the servants make your drinks.”
The man laughs as his martini glass is slid his way, picking it up and carefully swirling its contents. You really do have such a way with words.
“Don’t be fooled, that’s usually how I take my alcohol. But the bar does offer something that I don’t have at home.”
The man looks back up at you, slowly leaning forward, wanting to get lost in your shining eyes.
“It gets pretty lonely without someone to share the alcohol with, doll. But here? Well…”
You ignore the heated feeling in your cheeks, taking a drink from your whiskey, watching him closely.
“Well what, sir?”
“Why not try a drink in a place where there’s a little company? Some good-looking company, to boot. You seem to like it here very much—I see you sitting here with a drink in your hand every time my limo passes by the bar.”
It’s your turn to laugh now, as you take another sip of your drink. Alright, he’s got your heart’s attention and you know it. It wouldn’t take much more than a little nudge from him, and your shell would be broken.
“I don’t know if it’s very safe for me to share a drink with a complete stranger, handsome as he may be.”
Dice smiles, his hand reaching forward and tilting your chin upwards, like he’s trying to get a better look at you. He also gives you a chance to examine his facial features up close, and boy, he’s even better looking than your view from your seat in his audience.
“Well then, let’s stop being strangers, shall we? I know I ask you this every night, but this is the last time I’ll try. What’s your name, gorgeous?”
You chuckle softly to yourself, shaking your head slightly as you tip back, finishing off the last of your scotch, letting an ice cube fall into your mouth. You let it melt on your tongue slightly, swirling it around in your mouth as you contemplate your answer. He has been waiting very patiently for—!
Every thought in your mind comes to a halt as a soft, sweet pair of lips takes over your own, an arm wrapping around your side to bring you closer. You blink in shock, eyes wide as you stare at the one responsible for the sudden gesture.
It’s King Dice. And he’s kissing you.
Slowly, you set down your empty glass, cautiously leaning forward, accepting the affection. You know he had been working hard to earn your love, but if you’re honest with yourself, he has already had it since the beginning. It just took him a while to unlock it.
His tongue slides into your mouth, finding the ice cube you had been sucking on, and swiping it from you so quickly you barely even notice it’s missing by the time he pulls away.
He smirks down at you, the ice resting against his cheek as he laughs quietly at your speechlessness.
“Your name, doll. What is it?”
Completely enraptured, you finally utter out the word that Dice had been dying to hear ever since your first conversation with one another.
“(Y/n)… my name is (y/n).”
With a victorious grin and a raise of his glass, Dice happily responds to your lovestruck mumble.
“It’s a pleasure to meet you, (y/n). It seems now that we are no longer strangers.”
He taps his fingers on the counter, and the bartender slides you a brand new drink, filled to the brim.
“So, how about that drink, then?”
You take it slowly, raising it up so it’s just underneath your slightly sore lips. You smile once again, laughing in disbelief, feeling your heart skip a beat.
“Whatever you say, showman.”
And from there, it’s history.

I've been working on this for a few months now, writing the first chapter and some character profiles. The character profiles will be updated gradually, but in the meantime, the first chapter is already published. Right now, it's only available on Wattpad, but I'm also considering sharing it on Inkspired.
I'm sorry if I made any grammatical mistakes in both Spanish and English; sometimes I can slip up, but please feel free to let me know if you find any errors.
Thank you so much for your support, and I hope all of you truly enjoy this first chapter.

Hi there! This is my first time asking on your page and I hope your recovery is going well <3 If you’re maybe taking requests for sfw headcanons:
What do you think king dice would be like with a gf (gn is okay too) who’s rumored to being “the wicked witch of the woods” who’s typically described as a stereotypical child-eating evil old lady that lives in a house in the woods when in reality, she’s just a woman who really likes her alone time practicing her spells, making her potions, and generally doesn’t care about the childish rumors about her (bc girlbossing n shit)
If you don’t feel like answering this, pls don’t feel obligated to and you can ignore this if you’d like to. Have a good morning/day/afternoon/evening/night <3
A/N: it took me two years to get to this. But I’m here after a very lengthy depression to deliver.
C/w: possible talk about bones and other stuff, She / her pronouns used for reader
Tumblr media
:KingDice x Witch!Fem! reader:
Honestly if you live out in the woods, you probably don’t even know about the rumors being spread. You’re too busy going to the supermarket to buy some out of season spices to begin with! Unethical you know but it’s needed for a spell and you lack a substitute herb
Whispered surround you, despite your obliviousness. “I heard she captures kids and cooks them in her cauldron!” Points out one worried mother. “I heard she works for the devil!” A man speaks out. Soon enough no one is left except the poor cashier who’s shaking in his boots.
Onto KD. You’re simply walking back to the forests edge when all of a sudden THE King Dice manages to bump into you! And uh oh, all those spices are down in the gutter. Since you’re a lady, and one he very much fancies after getting a glimpse of your face, he profusely apologizes.
“I’m sorry lil Darlin! Didn’t see ya there. What’s a pretty thing like you doing all the way downtown?” Casually trying to flirt while trying to salvage some of the spices along side you. Of course you explain your story, and here he is. Graciously offering to buy you any replacements
He is slightly scared but you’re also just too cute that maybe the crazy is excusable this time.
And from then on, he took notes. Brought you flowers ans the traditional gifts of course but he’d notice you using them in odd ways. “Baby doll,” he asks one day. Pointing to the flowers he brought a few nights ago hanging and dried upside down. “You know you can throw those away, right?”
As someone who works for the devil. He doesn’t know much about witchcraft. But whatever his girl needs. His girl gets. And hey, if you’re dating king dice? Maybe, just maybe, you’re not a kid eating devil worshipper like everyone says you are

King Dice x Reader "Bad Day Headcanons"
SONG RECOMMENDATION: “I’ll Never Smile Again” - Jimmy and Tommy Dorsey
King Dice x Reader “Bad Day” Headcanons (GAME)
If anyone were to ask King Dice what it’s like to be the right hand man of the Devil himself, why, he’d say it’s a dream. The best thing that’s ever happened to him. Well, maybe the second best. Marrying you will always come first.
He really does enjoy his job as the casino’s manager, and doesn’t mind the workload. To be surrounded by fawning fans and patrons, collecting their wallets, possessions, and damn souls from right under their noses? The job is certainly never boring. The poor fools who enter make sure of that.
King Dice always enjoys a good gamble. Whether it’s a friendly game of poker, craps, roulette, or even a bet on which racehorse would take the prize, the manager clings to the thrill of the risk like a drug.
But the thing about addiction is, you never realize how much you’re suffering until it’s much too late to do anything about it. More often than not, you tend to bite off much more than you can chew.
Dice occasionally finds himself in this position, having become in over his head. Sometimes, the die gets a small reality check of his own.
This reality check comes in many different forms. Not that he ever loses a bet, of course. The King never loses, and he intends to keep it that way, no matter how dirty his hands get. There’s a reason why the house always wins, and Dice is that reason.
Instead, his reality check comes in the form of angry patrons who have had one too much to drink, picking a fight with the manager. A demanding boss constantly looming over his shoulders, nitpicking Dice’s methods and making it incredibly difficult for him to do his damn job.
The crushing weight of pressure to keep up a perfect approachable appearance, luring the poor fools of Inkwell inside the Devil’s mitts like a lion tricking its prey.
Not to mention the heavy workload of papers to sign, contracts to file, tailoring appointments to keep his style consistent with whatever trends might be appearing, exhausting measures to keep his boss happy, stocking of supplies, the list could go on.
Normally, it’s manageable enough. Some of the tasks overlap, and Dice manages to find a nice, smooth routine to keep everything in order, especially with the help of his cards.
Typically, they will work behind the scenes while Dice manages the front, filing his papers for him, checking the drink stocks from behind the counter (the Tipsy Troop is of very little help at times), or even just forging Dice’s signature on a few of his contracts to lighten his load.
This way, all the King really has to deal with is a few tiffs with particular drunkards, looking pretty, and keeping his staff in line.
However… sometimes, the workload is just too much for Dice to handle, even with his cards and his staff scrambling to help the poor man keep a level head.
Sometimes, Dice is kept after his shift usually ends, signing contracts until he can barely see straight, fingers ready to fall off.
Sometimes, Dice gets scuffed up during a fight, causing a small crack in his head, or a few rips in his suit.
Sometimes, the Devil is too irate to effectively calm down, and Dice is on the receiving end of his boss’s wrath whether what caused the ruckus was his fault or not.
Sometimes… Dice just can’t take it.
There have been numerous occasions where you’ve watched him trudge inside your chambers, completely worn out, a sour expression on his face. Dice can’t even smile at you or offer any kind of greeting as he shucks off his shoes and jacket, frustratedly kicking the objects off to the side.
You hate seeing him like that. It’s not like him, at all. He deserves so much better than what he’s given, and you wish you could do something about his awful working conditions.
On the nights your husband returns to you looking beaten and weary, you do the one thing that you know he’ll never oppose. You guide him into laying on top of you, his aching head resting over your chest, listening to your soft, steady heartbeat.
You simply hold him in your arms and hum a relaxing tune, your fingers gently running over the crisp edges of his head. It relaxes him almost instantly.
Very few words are exchanged between the two of you. Dice is too tired and frustrated with everything to vent, and you don’t push him. You won’t even try to make small talk. Sometimes, there’s just no point in speech.
No… sometimes, things are meant to be silent. And comforting Dice after a horrible day at work is usually one of those times.
In the early hours of morning, you may occasionally wake up and find Dice staring up at the ceiling, unable to sleep with too much on his mind. It is here when he finally opens up to you, spilling the details of why he entered your chambers in such a cranky mood.
You say nothing, just letting him speak, not even flinching when he occasionally raises his voice, gesturing irritatedly with his hands. You barely even bat an eye when he lets out a frustrated huff, grumbling under his breath about how different he wishes his life turned out, falling onto his back with a defeated sigh.
What does get your heart caught in your throat, is when his hand finds yours from under the covers. When he gives you a gentle squeeze, shifting close to you and rubbing his thumb over the smooth, shiny gold of your wedding ring.
“You’re the only good thing that’s come out of this mess, doll.”
Before you can even respond, Dice is asleep, his hand still squeezing your own like a lifeline.
Well, that certainly gets your heart to flutter.
You can absolutely relate to his struggles, as you have had many, many bad days of your own. More than you can count. Fortunately, it’s usually nothing you can’t deal with yourself.
You can handle a hard day with your own job. You can handle coming home to the casino’s chaotic ambiance after a hard day at work, with a couple drinks and a quick smoke for good measure. You can handle the long wait for your husband to return from his shifts and into your quarters. The wait is a hundred times worth it for that sweet, sensual embrace he gives you (and whatever follows afterwards).
What gets you slightly miffed is the treatment from the folks around you who are cautious, curious, and just damn nosy over your relationship with King Dice. Repeated. Near constant.
If you need to answer one more goddamn question about Dice’s ability as the Devil’s right hand man to love, one more inquiry over whether or not the man has you in some sort of trance, one more jealous complaint from the filthy drunkards who can’t learn to keep to themselves, your head just might fall off its shoulders.
It’s not that you’re not used to the comments and questions, it’s not that you can’t handle the occasional jab from another being. It’s definitely not that you’re protective of your husband, when he can certainly protect himself and you as soon as he feels the need to. It just… it gets so god damn annoying after a while.
And some days, you just can’t.
The pressure of your job, worrying over your lover and his duties, dealing with the obsessive freaks? It’s certainly difficult not to crack.
What ends up tipping you over the edge is any extra conflict life decides to throw at you on that particular day. Your boss gives you a hard time over something unwarranted. Someone bumped into you and spilled a drink all over you, so you have to work in soiled clothing.
You’ll never admit it to yourself (or anyone else), but you’re a ticking time bomb on the daily, waiting for one final push into detonation. And when that push comes, well, you’re nearly inconsolable.
You barely make it through the rest of your day without killing someone. As soon as your shift ends, you head back home, attempting to take the side door to avoid the casino’s loud, unbearable ambiance.
The door is locked. God fucking dammit.
You let out a frustrated shout, banging your fist against the golden door frame before stepping away. You bite the inside of your cheek to distract yourself from the growing pain in your hand, and the fact that you now have to make your way through the suffocating atmosphere just to get to your room.
Holding your breath, you quickly throw open the double doors, effectively silencing the whole room with the sheer amount of force you use as each door slams against the walls with a bit of recoil.
Ignoring the stares and slight whispers of the folks who recognize who you are, you make your way through the maze of tables and machines, passing by the Blackjack table where your husband sat at the head, his deck of cards slipping from his hands and falling into a heap on the table.
He stares at you in surprise, eyes desperate to reach yours, feeling crestfallen when you never meet his gaze.
Watching you effectively slip past the crowd and head into the private halls, Dice makes a mental note to grab a bottle of wine for you on the way back to his chambers. He notices the clusters of people continuing to stare at the door and whispering in suspicion, and quickly becomes angry over their inquiries.
Gathering up his deck of cards with one swoop of the hand, he brings his other fist down on the table to grab everyone’s attention, glaring menacingly at the wide eyes of his patrons.
“Well, get back to it, will ya?! Don’t you fellas know it’s rude to stare at someone and start talkin’ smack when they’re no longer present? Forget what you saw and move on!”
The powerful bellow of his voice combined with his threatening gaze was enough to jumpstart the casino into action once again, the games and chatter continuing like nothing ever even happened.
With an aggravated huff, he turns back to his own table and silently deals the deck to his slightly shaky players, ignoring their hesitant movements and fearful eyes on him. As long as they aren’t focused on you anymore, he doesn’t give a damn.
When the day finally ends, Dice makes a beeline towards his room, a bottle of wine and two glasses in hand. For once, he’s silent as he opens the door and steps inside, quietly stepping over to your curled up form on the bed.
A gentle hand rubs over your shoulder, making you flinch in surprise before you slowly relax into your husband’s touch, your eyes slipping shut as you do your best to collect yourself.
Dice notices you trying to calm down and shakes his head, setting the wine and glasses down on your nightstand and taking your hands.
“It’s alright to be angry and upset, sweetness. Don’t try and bottle it up for my sake. If you need to yell or cry, go ahead. I’ll spare your dignity.”
That’s all you need to hear. Dice silently nods along in understanding as you tear into the horrible day you had, letting you yell out your frustrations, his hand gently running along your inner thigh in an attempt to comfort you.
If you start to shed any tears in the middle of your rant, your lover offers you his handkerchief, continuing to listen to you as he pours you a glass of liquid happiness.
The rest of the night is filled with tears, alcohol, and eventual silence as you both finish off the bottle, settling down for bed. You’re more than eager to sleep off the struggles, in hopes that tomorrow will bring you fortune.
You both are there for each other when you need it, and that’s something you’ll always cherish about your husband. How someone as intimidating and evil as him could be so sweet and caring with you, you’ll never understand. But you are grateful for it.
Dice is just as grateful for you, for dealing with his messes. For putting up with his work life, for loyally waiting for him every night, no matter how late it gets. For looking past his ‘rough and tough’ persona, and learning to love his broken, messy interior.
Your love for each other is what gets you both through even the hardest of days.
That includes, when both of you aren’t exactly having the best time. It’s rare for you to have an off day at the same time, but in the unfortunate case that something like this happens, well… you lean on each other more than ever.
Both metaphorically and physically.
As usual, you return home first, making your way through the casino’s main floor and biting your lip to keep from shouting at the drunkards who bump into you, whoop and holler in your ear, or simply stare at you in disgusting infatuation.
Except this time, Dice is too distracted with his own hardships that he doesn’t even notice you come in. This time, it’s his eyes that fail to meet yours as you pass by, creating a slight twinge in your heartstrings.
It seems today is just shitty all around, you suppose.
Stopping by Dice’s office, you grab a couple books from one of his many bookshelves, and head back to your quarters. Maybe some light reading will help you get your mind out of reality for a while.
Dice’s escape from reality… isn’t quite as healthy.
With a cigar in his mouth and a glass of scotch in his hand, he finally makes his way to the room with heavy footsteps, just wanting to see you. To hold you. To lament to you.
He knows in his heart that all you want is the same. It’s what you both need right now. You just need to be near each other. To hold each other. To kiss each other. To forget the stress of the day, and just focus on what’s most important.
Your love for one another.
The quiet creak of the door opening followed by the light of the hall flooding the room catches your attention, your head lifting from your book and finally meeting Dice’s eye as he steps inside, taking a drink from his whiskey glass and setting it on his bedside table.
You’re up in a moment, the book forgotten about as you make your way over to him, helping him remove his jacket, carefully draping it over a hook and hanging it neatly. When Dice kicks off his shoes, you move them underneath his hanging tailcoat for him.
The only sounds in the room are the rustling of fabrics being taken off, the soft pads of footsteps trailing to the bathroom, the running water from the sink’s faucet, and the aching ringing in your ears.
Dice washes the makeup from his face and steps back into the bedroom, sitting on the edge of the bed with you, clad only in his boxers. His movements are tender and careful as he cups your face with his hands, his fingers slowly covering your ears, helping to finally rid you of the god-awful sounds plaguing your brain and causing a headache.
Your eyes flutter closed as you rest your pounding forehead against his bare chest, taking in that addicting scent of smoke and musk.
For the first time in a while, Dice chuckles slightly, leaning down and pressing a soft kiss to the top of your head. While you rest against him, he helps you rid yourself of your top and bottoms, leaving you in your undergarments. Shivering slightly, you shift closer to him for warmth, and Dice responds by pulling you into his lap all together.
He peppers you with all the kisses you’d ever need, holding your face in his hands as he makes his way over your cheeks, forehead, nose, and finally, your lips.
Oh, hell, his lips are magical. They’re so soft against your own, and the taste of alcohol and cigar smoke is always welcomed. It’s incredible. Your favorite way to take your whiskey, if you were honest with yourself.
Your arms find your way around his neck area, and his around your waist. Both of you are itching just to get a taste of each other, your tongues meeting and mingling with one another. You both are exhausted and frustrated with your lives, but it’s the kisses you share that make the day worth going through.
Dice scoots back into bed with you in his lap, laying down on his back, letting you sprawl on top of him. Skin against skin. Lips against lips. Hands interlocked. Neither of you want to be anywhere else.
After a while, you both are content with just relaxing in each other’s embrace, unwilling to move. You’re warm. Comfortable. Almost happy. Almost.
It’s not enough to completely fix the horribleness of your days, but it’s damn near close. It’s enough to convince you both that the hard days are worth it. It’s enough to bring small, peaceful smiles on your faces, providing comfort for each other when it’s so desperately needed.
“Darlin’?”
Your husband finally speaks, bringing you out of your thoughts. You turn your head to look up at him, your eyes locking in with his bright green ones.
“Are you alright?” He asks, hesitantly, already knowing the answer. You understand what he’s really asking– he wants to know if you’re willing to talk about it, or if you just need time in silence.
You sigh softly to yourself, contemplating your reply before you flash him a soft smile, gently rubbing your hand over his chest.
“I’m okay, my love. It was just a rough day today.”
Dice understands your reply and nods, pressing a loving kiss to your forehead as he shifts on his side, letting you shift with him so you both are in a spooning position, with your partner hugging you from behind.
“Alright.”
Silence falls over the both of you, and you are left with your thoughts, occasionally shifting closer together for comfort when you remind yourselves of what you’ve gone through that day. If Dice’s leg finds its way over yours, you don’t mind at all. If you let out the occasional sniffle as your emotions threaten to take over, Dice pretends he doesn’t hear.
If your shoulders begin to heave slightly as you silently cry to yourself, Dice’s soothing hand makes its way towards your back, rubbing reassuringly. If Dice squeezes you closer in an effort to quell his own shakiness, you rest your back against him, nestling your head under the bottom edge of his cubed head.
After a while, you turn around to face him, wanting to bury yourself into his arms. The smile that had temporarily graced your lips is gone, replaced with a dispirited frown.
Dice looks down at you in concern, gently caressing your cheek, his thumb wiping away the occasional tear that fell down your cheek.
“You’re not alright, are you, sugar?”
A shaky sigh leaves your lips as you shut your eyes, a couple extra tears lining your eyes making their way down your cheeks. Dice takes care of those as well, his fingers gently massaging your face in comfort.
“No, I’m not.”
Not that you needed to tell him that. He knows. He always knows. And he understands, you know that. Because he’s not alright, either. Neither of you are.
You’re both in pain. Exhausted. Frustrated. Angry. You aren’t even in the mood to be intimate tonight, neither of you have the energy.
Even so, you find yourself pressing closer against him, relishing in the feeling of your skin contacting his. Falling intoxicated to the addicting scent of smoke and citrus that at this point may be Dice’s natural musk.
Sometimes, just cuddling with each other without any clothes on is just what you need. It’s physical. Intimate enough. Comforting. Relaxing, even. It’s nice, when you want the blissful feeling that sex leaves you, but when neither of you have the strength to move.
The slow, slightly shaky rise and fall of Dice’s chest keeps you grounded in reality, and simultaneously, your erratic heartbeat fluttering against his own keeps your lover’s own emotions in check. It’s a silent reminder that you’re okay. You’re safe. You’re not going anywhere.
If there’s one thing that you both can count on, it’s that you’re secure. Dice would never let anything happen to you, and you would always be there to pick up the shards and piece his life back together.
You both lock eyes with each other, silently proclaiming your love for one another, and kiss once more. Your breathing slows as you relax once more, just focusing on the comforting tastes, scents, and soft groans coming from the King.
Dice pulls you closer to him, holding you tightly as he runs a gentle hand through your hair. The feeling is soothing to him; your hair is so soft. He doesn’t want to be anywhere else. Luckily for him, neither do you.
Eventually, you both slip off to sleep, finding contentment from being wrapped in each other’s arms, exchanging gentle snores with one another as you finally get some rest.
At 6:00 am sharp, Dice’s alarm goes off, the man groaning in irritation as his hand lazily swats at the damned thing before yanking out the plug. With a yawn, you sit up and stretch, sighing to yourself as you mentally prepare yourself for what you hope to be a better day at work.
Before you can get far, however, Dice’s hand grabs your wrist, pulling you back into his warm, relaxing embrace.
“Dice, we need to-”
“Five more minutes, doll. Please.”
You sigh, shaking your head as you squirm slightly, not wanting to be late for your job.
“Dice, I can’t. We can’t. Your boss would use your head as game dice for the craps table if he knew you had–”
“To hell with the boss.” Dice grumbles crankily, insistently pulling you closer. “My boss, and your own, can wait five minutes.”
Well, you suppose he does have a point. Besides, he’s so comfortable, it’d be a waste to get up now, when you both still have a little time. So, you reluctantly give in, settling back down and shutting your eyes again. Surely, the day can wait a little longer.
And when you both wake up a half hour later, scrambling to get up and make yourselves presentable, as much as you want to say otherwise you can’t help but think to yourself…
It’s worth it.
King Dice x Reader “Bad Day” Headcanons (SHOW)
Many believe that becoming a beloved star in showbiz has to be a dream come true.
Let’s face it, the showmen get everything they could ever ask for. Doting fans who would bend over backwards just for a damn signature, the ability to pick up anyone they want for a partner, all the money in the world, and an influencing presence on some of the highest officials in town.
Being a star should be the best thing that could ever happen to a man. And if you were to ask King Dice how he views his job, he’d certainly tell you how splendid he has it.
After all, running a game show where he can sing, dance, and talk all he wants, with an enormous crowd screaming his name before he even enters the stage? Why, it’s magical.
The King loves his job, dearly. He doesn’t see himself doing anything else. He’s even found himself enjoying the thought of what happens to the foolish fellows who stumble upon his spotlight, happily playing his game, and falsely believing they’ve won. Sure, they may have won on paper, but here's the catch: King Dice never loses.
There’s something so satisfying about the idea of those pests who are so desperate to touch him getting what’s coming to them. It’s a nice little bonus to the job, knowing that those he severely disliked would be taken care of.
However… sometimes, King Dice gets the occasional contestant who isn’t so horrible. A contestant who’s surprisingly respectful of his boundaries, plays the game perfectly, and doesn’t give him any trouble whatsoever.
Dice would be lying if he didn’t feel a little twinge of guilt as he watches the poor thing happily wave to the crowd before waltzing into the Mystery Prize Room, expecting a wonderful bout of riches and earthly pleasure. The showman closes the door quickly, signing off before leaving the stage in a slight rush, not wanting to think of it any longer.
King Dice is selfish. Egotistical. Arrogant. Self-absorbed. The perfect fit for the Devil’s ‘Number One.’ He couldn’t care less about what happens to others; it’s none of his concern.
But yet… that unfamiliar sting of regret still finds its way to Dice’s cold, dead heart.
It’s uncomfortable. Awkward. Foreign. It shouldn’t be there.
It sours his mood. He curses that contestant for being so unlucky. He curses his boss for putting him in this position, knowing fully well that for the sake of his job, he’s lost the trust of one of the good ones. But most of all, he curses himself, for not giving enough warning.
Being a splendid actor, Dice is able to finish the rest of the night without a hitch, but there are other things on his mind. His head is no longer in the game.
And the occasional guilty night is only one hardship Dice puts up with as a star working for the Devil. The list could go on for miles.
Unpleasant conversations with his boss when one of his contestants came close to losing. The headaches from the constant flashing cameras fighting each other for a good angle of him. The carpal tunnel from signing every damn scrap of paper his fans shove in his face. The numbness in his cheeks from smiling all day long.
That’s not even half of it.
The truth is, being a star isn’t all it's cracked up to be. It’s hard work. Exhausting rehearsals. Pounds of makeup. Putting up a charismatic persona under layers of clothing, under hot lights. For hours. A lot of sacrifice is put into making sure everything is perfect, and some days, Dice wonders whether or not it’s worth it.
You’ve spent many nights as Dice’s support system, guiding him out of his dressing room and into the waiting limo from the back way, to avoid the crowds. Letting him rest his legs in your lap as the limo takes you home, and massaging his aching feet as he sips tiredly at his champagne. Helping him up to your chambers, removing his jacket for him and hanging it up neatly by the door to be used for the next day.
Unbuttoning his vest and undershirt, tossing the clothes into the hamper for his cards to wash, and gently massaging his bare chest. Allowing him to melt into your touch with a gentle moan as you slip his slacks off for him, setting them off to the side as you coax your lover to lay down.
Wiping off his makeup for him as he complains to you about the exhaustion he feels, and the mess he had to deal with that day. Letting him rant out his frustrations at how disgusting his fans can be, and how he sometimes wishes he hired a few bodyguards to keep the pests away. Consoling him with a soft, soothing voice, validating his struggles and perhaps even appealing to his ego, letting him know just how patient and strong he is for dealing with such nastiness all day.
Dice is grateful for your help, every time. And he’s sure to let you know that as you work your magic.
“You’re the only one who could ever bring me true joy, doll. I adore you.”
You smile and shake your head, kissing his cheek as you peel off your own clothes, tossing them off to the side and laying down with him, allowing him to rest his pounding head over your chest and relishing in the contact.
“And I you, my King. Please, get some sleep. Hopefully tomorrow will be a better day.”
He obeys, but only after you start humming to him. Your voice puts him right out, and he finally finds the relaxation he’s been looking for.
Your job complete, you allow yourself to snuggle close with him, watching over him and making sure he’s safe and secure. Eventually, your eyes slip shut, and you both rest together, allowing the past to wither away in preparation for the next day.
You understand where your husband is coming from, sometimes. Every job has its faults and struggles, including the job of singing and putting on a show for others’ enjoyment. Including your own job, which leaves you with many, many days where you wonder if it’s even worth the effort.
After all, Dice makes more than enough money to keep you both well off for the rest of your lives. You don’t necessarily need to keep your job, but it’s something to do during the day while your lover is at the studio. Something to keep you busy. Something you’ve earned for yourself. An accomplishment. It’s hard to give up.
Even though sometimes, you heavily consider quitting in favor of keeping your husband company. It’d be nice to let go of all the hardships of your job for good, and bask in Dice’s presence all day instead.
The worst of it all is when you work overtime, and you miss Dice’s show entirely. You sometimes get so occupied you can’t even tune in on the radio. It makes you unbelievably aggravated. Not only that, but you can’t even make it to go home with him at times, having to catch a cab back to your quarters.
Even so, Dice waits for you. Greets you as soon as you trudge through the door, taking care of your bags, your coat, and your shoes. Drawing a bath for you, and helping you undress. Undressing himself, and joining you in the tub. He washes the grime off of your body for you, singing a soft, comforting melody as you rest your head on his chest, your sore voice trying to match his rhythm.
Soon enough, you both are softly singing together in harmony as Dice massages the tension out of your shoulders and back, effectively distracting you from your heavy responsibilities.
Once you’re clean and Dice is satisfied with his work, he pulls up the plug and drains the tub, carrying you out and drying you off. He secures his fluffiest robe around you, tying the knot with a pretty little bow before drying himself, shucking on another robe for himself, and guiding you out into the bedroom.
A slow jazzy song is chosen from his record books, and the gramophone plays the tune gently, prompting a slow dance between you and your husband. His hands guide you into the proper positions, and soon he’s swaying along to the song with you, singing to you and sneaking in a few kisses until a smile finally graces your lips.
You admire his ability to bring you joy, even when you don’t feel like smiling at all. It’s so unbelievably sweet of him to treat you so kindly, especially when his job is just as difficult.
Once you’re worn out and you’ve forgotten all about the struggles you faced in the day, Dice will remove your robe and his own, carrying you off to bed to turn in for the night.
He holds you. Tightly. His lips grace your face and neck, planting several kisses over your skin along with the occasional love bite. He understands you may be too tired to be intimate, but he figures he can at least make a mark or two to let others know you’re taken.
His teeth and mouth feel exquisite against you, and the gentle nipping and biting make you chuckle occasionally. He tickles, especially when his mustache grazes over your skin just slightly.
Dice longs for your laughter. It’s all he ever wants to hear from you. He hates seeing you upset, and if he can help it, he’ll chase all of the horrible feelings away, leaving you a relaxed, giggling mess in his arms.
“Dice…” You manage to mutter between your laughter.
“What is it, angel-eyes?”
“Thank you for this. I appreciate it. You never fail to take the pain away when I need you the most. I love you, so so much.”
Dice simply smiles at your words, bringing the duvet over you and covering you up so only your head is sticking out. With a kiss to your lips and a caress of your cheek, he murmurs into your mouth some of the sweetest things you’ve ever heard him say.
“Anything to see your smile again, my dear. It breaks my heart to see you so upset. Please, lean on me when you feel like you’ve lost your smile. I’ll always be willing to help you find it.”
He seals the promise with another sensual kiss to your lips, bringing you into his chest as your tongues explore each other’s mouths. You’ll never understand how he sweeps you off your feet with something as simple as a kiss, but you won’t complain. You love it.
He’s yours. And you’re his. No one else will ever have the privilege of his gentleness, or your loyalty. No one else deserves those privileges. They can rot in hell, for all you care.
You eventually find yourself nodding off in his arms. With a fond chuckle, Dice pulls his mouth away from you and lets your head drop onto his shoulder. Your ear is filled with your husband’s sensual whispers of praise, successfully lulling you to sleep.
Wanting to keep you relaxed even in the early morning hours, Dice wakes up before his alarm and shuts it off before it even has the chance to ring. Figuring he’s allowed to be a little late just this once, he decides to stay with you an extra hour, humming quietly in your ear and massaging your shoulders.
When you finally wake to get ready for work, you find a small box of chocolates and a cup of your favorite morning drink along with a single purple rose resting on your nightstand.
That cheesy bastard, you love him to pieces.
Taking a sip of your drink and indulging yourself in a few of the chocolates, you decide that you can finally move forward, and strive to have a better day. With Dice’s sweet gesture, you’re already off to a pretty good start.
Through your hard days and his own, you and Dice are always there to pick each other back up when you need it. You’re each other’s rocks. Best friends. Spouses. You wouldn’t want to share this type of bond with anyone else. When one of you is down and broken, the other will always be there to pick up the pieces.
However, there is the rare occasion when both of you are down. When both of you are tired, struggling, and ready to quit. Those days hit especially hard.
You can already tell it’s one of those days when you trudge home late after work, and find that Dice isn’t even home. He must’ve gotten caught with the crowd, or was dragged off to some damn party that he really didn’t want to go to. Dice hated any parties that involved other celebrities. Hoity-toity bastards. They make him sick to his stomach.
Even though a huge part of you wants nothing more than to curl up and sleep, you know that you won’t be successful until your husband comes home. You can’t sleep as well when you’re alone, especially when you’re emotionally struggling. You need him.
And when Dice finally steps into your quarters, barely able to stand on his own as he lets his tailcoat fall to the ground, you can tell that he needs you just as much.
Exhausted, you make your way over to him and just wrap your arms around him, burying your face into his chest. After a few moments of processing, you feel Dice’s arms tightly wrap around you as well, pulling you against him as his shoulders sag slightly. Jeez, he’s so weak and tired, it makes your heart break for him.
“Shitty day?” You ask, your voice muffled from your face being snugly buried into his chest.
You hear a dejected sigh from above you as Dice rests his head on top of yours, nodding slowly.
“Shitty day. You?”
“Mhm.” You mutter back, hugging yourself closer to him for safety and relief.
Dice coos sadly in response, kicking off his shoes and sliding them in a heap by the door. You yelp a little in surprise as he lifts you up, carrying you over to bed and sitting down on the edge with you.
You watch as he runs a defeated hand over his face, shaking his head in resignation. He looks worn and ragged, like he had been run through a road roller. Dice certainly feels that way, at least.
He looks down at you with an unreadable expression, cupping your face and examining your eyes. Your beautiful, glossy eyes that are incredibly easy to get lost in. They’re truly a wonder, in Dice’s head. You yourself, are a wonder. A joy. A prize.
He wishes you didn’t feel so low today.
“I’m so sorry, my sweet. But I don’t believe I have the energy to help you find your smile tonight.”
That sentence is enough to shatter your heart, but not in the way you’d think. You’re not upset that he can’t provide the comfort he thinks you need. You’re not upset that he can’t make love to you, or run you a bath, or dance with you until your feet hurt.
You’re upset that he’s been run down to his last thread tonight. You’re upset that he feels guilty for being unable to help you in the way he would like. You’re upset that he’s had such a horrible day, when he should’ve been enjoying himself.
In response to his apology, you lean forward and press your lips to his, gently nipping at his bottom lip and coaxing a small groan from his throat.
Helping him undress completely, you mumble in his mouth in a voice that’s barely audible:
“Dice, don’t think that you need to pamper me to help me relax. Don’t think that you need to sweep me off my feet and carry me everywhere to make you happy. Don’t think that you need to do all of these sweet little gestures to bring me comfort.”
You run your hands up and down his sides, memorizing the way his smooth ivory skin feels against your fingers.
“All I need tonight is you. And you’re here now. That’s all I could ever want. I just want you.”
Dice is at a loss for words, opening his mouth to say something, but nothing coming out. After a minute, he sighs hopelessly, shaking his head and just holding you in his arms, searching for solace in your loving warmth.
You both sit together, naked and weary, just embracing each other. Loving each other. Not daring to move, in fear of stumbling or breaking the quiet atmosphere. It’s… surprisingly wholesome.
Who knew that all you both would ever need when you’re down is a hug? That was all it took to make you at least a little content with where your life is? You suppose you shouldn’t be surprised, after all any type of contact with Dice is enough to bring you peace.
You contemplate in his arms for a moment, remembering that new blues song that was playing on the radio over your workplace a few days ago. How did it go again?
Oh, yes. You remember.
“I’ll never smile again…” you start, your voice hesitant, wondering if you had heard the lyrics right. “Until I…”
Recognizing what you were trying to sing, Dice finds the corners of his lips turning up in a soft smile. He kisses your forehead, hugging you close and slowly swaying back and forth with you from where you were both seated on the bed.
“Until I smile at you…” he finishes your open sentence, gently rubbing your back as his mind recalls the melody himself.
“I’ll never laugh again… what good would it do?”
You close your eyes, peacefully swaying along with him as you both slowly make your way through the song, taking in the quiet, soothing notes of the melody.
“I’ll never love again, I’m so in love with you…”
As you harmonize with your husband, you eventually feel a small, blissful smile finally reach your face. You both gaze into each other’s eyes, smiling tiredly with one another as you finally conclude with the last line of that song you both had just gotten familiar with.
“Until I smile at you.”
Silence greets your ears once again, but this time, there’s a feeling of satisfaction in the air, rather than misery. And what’s even better is, you both are smiling with one another.
You chuckle quietly, your hand tracing up and down Dice’s bicep as you gently kiss and bite at his collar bone.
“You know, you had apologized earlier for not having any energy to help me find my smile. But I don’t think you realize that all I need to smile again is you, Dice.”
Dice stares down at you in slight awe, slowly processing your words and taking them to heart. You feel yourself get slightly squeezed against him as he lets out a quiet, teary chuckle that brings out a couple tears of your own that you didn’t realize you were holding back.
“I… I guess I never thought of that, babydoll.”
He wipes away your tears as he blinks back his own, lowering his head down and pressing tiny kisses to the top of your head, little bursts of love and warmth exploding from your chest.
You ache for him. He puts so much unnecessary pressure on himself, sometimes it’s hard to watch. You wish he’d give himself a break. He deserves one more than ever.
“Tomorrow’s your day off, right? It’s Saturday, so I have off as well. Maybe we could dedicate it as a recovery day.” You offer quietly, rubbing in between his shoulder blades to help him calm himself.
With a gentle sniffle and a moment of thought, Dice smiles sadly once again, nodding thoughtfully and taking your hand.
“I’d love that more than anything, sweet one. We’ll spend the whole day together, just the two of us.”
Just the two of you. No one else. Not a single coworker to deal with, or a boss screaming in your ear. Not one nasty admirer clinging to Dice’s leg, begging for one picture. Just you, Dice, and the peaceful quiet that home brings the both of you. Yes… that does sound perfect.
“It’s a date then.”
Content with your plans of a better tomorrow, Dice crawls back into bed and lays down with you, curling up under the covers with you snuggled perfectly in his arms. Once you both settle down, you sigh quietly together, your heads slowly resting against each other.
Your hands connect with each other, the soft metal of your wedding rings clinking together as your fingers interlock. The clear diamonds sparkle and glisten as the pale moonlight peaks in from the window, hitting the stones at just the right angle.
Dice grins warmly in amusement, his thumb rubbing over the rings in curiosity before he squeezes your hand reassuringly, bringing you closer.
“Now that I think about it… I wouldn’t have my life any other way. I think I’ve done well for myself.”
You laugh softly, your nose gently brushing against the pip on his face as you nod in response, agreeing with his statement.
“I wouldn’t either, sweetheart. You’re worth all the bad days in the world.”
You relax in each other’s arms, peacefully satisfied with where you both are at. As you start to nod off, you hear Dice begin to quietly hum the tune you were both singing together earlier in an attempt to lull you off to sleep. It works, rather quickly. You’re passed out by the time he reaches the fifth or sixth line.
For a moment, Dice watches you resting against him, enjoying the feeling of your chest slowly rising and falling against his own, your heart beats slowly coming together and finding a steady rhythm.
He’s right; he wouldn’t have it any other way. This is perfect. All he needs.
You’re all I need, the showman thinks to himself as his heavy eyelids finally close, and within mere seconds, he’s fast asleep, holding you securely in his embrace.
You both sleep well into the next day, taking the time to recuperate and take care of the exhaustion you were dealing with. By the time you finally rise, you keep the promise you had made to each other, spending the day making each other laugh, sing, and dance together.
Your love for each other really is worth all the bad days in the world.

"Again??" King Dice had always had a nervous bubbling feeling in his chest as he's called down to see the Devil himself, but much more nervous now that he had actually let that currently-being-hunted cup slip out the palm of his hand and managing to get away. Oh, yeah, for the second time already.
He pulls at his collar at the tone of the flamboyant demon, grin twitching nervously.
The dice looks at the ruler of hell up and down, adjusting his suit to flatter his body more efficiently. He falters his smile to suit his boxed face in a cooler manner, shrugging for his jacket to sit properly upon his shoulders. "Don't;;" his throat feels hoarse, he smiles nerve wrackingly at the devil who is now lifting an eyebrow.
"Don't even worry about it, Boss!" He points a prominent thumb to his chest. "Third time's a charm! That Cup's soul will be yours!" He states confidently, no trace of his former fidgety movements as he places his hands on his hips. "After all; that's why I am your number one.." he smugly recalls, fixing his gloves.
King Dice looks up to see the Devil's expression, and as it was before it looked distant and uninterested. He looks more than bothered, and certainly angry. Refraining from snapping, the pitchfork wielding toon pinches the bridge of his nose as some sort of way to take control of the situation. He ends up giving a fast, rash reply to the King's last comment.
"You know..;;" he drawls sassily, furrowing his eyebrows in annoyance. "You have a rival for your place as number one." He turns, tail flicking up and into the air, stocking over to his throne that had been very near. He walks up the thin steps up to his seat, fire from the sides of the pathway roaring fiercely before forming into more controllable flickers of flames.
King Dice takes the heat into noticable consideration, yet the mention of rivalry for the placement of number one made him freeze in his spot. "Rivalry?" He questions, stepping closer to where the Devil had been stropping. He wafts his arms loosely around the place, frantically trying to get answers from his Boss. "What's this about rivalry, again??"
The Devil slightly picks up his mood, still slumped in his seat on the throne, but eyes now wide open in disbelief of the question. "Why- you don't know??" He begins; resting the pitchfork besides him, and lifting himself to sit up in his seat effortlessly. "You know; [Name]?" He waited for any sign of remembrance of the name, yet was left dumbfounded at King Dice's confusion.
"Come on- seriously? How don't you know [Name]??" He sassily, again, peered closer to Dice, but still with clear expressions, it was true he didn't know them. "Your new working partner??" He irritatedly huffed, only for King Dice to reply with an awkward. "You never told me about a new working partner.."
With some searching and fuss, The Devil comes to the conclusion of forgetting to tell his "Number 1" about his new co-worker. He starts to batter his eyeashes at King Dice, also suddenly forgetting the Cup's soul, a goofy grin taking over his face as he continued to tell him who they were. "Well; [Name] is your new rival now!"
He proudly announced, crossing his legs over one another before picking all the dirt from beneath his nails with the strong smile not leaving his face. "Or new working partner.. You know-- they own a popular club and they're working better and faster than you ever could!" He nods along to his own words, gushing over their criteria.
"Maybe they're the one to bring me the cup's soul!! Oh, how sweet of them, how very sweet!" As the Devil ponders and kicks his legs in delight, but with grounding himself he settles in his seat. "Oh they're just amazing! You must meet them!" He insists, without a thought he snaps his fingers and a hat appears.
The hat is a royal purple and looked as if it was made out of expensive fabrics, it suited the rest of the King's suit. The devil lifted himself up, holding the hat at the lip of it, and reaching over to pick up his pitchfork. He bangs the nip of the pitchfork against the floor twice, clanking sounds coming right up after the gesture.
He walks down the thin steps, placing a hat atop of King Dice's head, completely dissing his completely crushed soul seeping through and out his dice eyes. "You'll need that hat at the very least, because;; you know.. [Name] is just really fancy!" He continued to push him towards the elevator that had appeared from the floor on command to the pitchfork.
The thin appearing doors shoved open, it empty without the usually little short and round demon that would assist him. King Dice gets sent forward by the cupped hand of the Devil, with his back still turned towards him he heard the final words of his Boss before the doors clamp shut.
"So, with that said; if you don't keep it up, you know who will get the position on number one. "
On the ride up was fast but slightly bumpy, in slow knocks to either side had been applied to the elevator levitation as the Dice could only stare in the deep rich colour of the door. He had a heavy frown craving his face, shoulders drooping forward slightly, his back slouched with his arms hanging.
The doors soon snapped open and gave him a clear view as to where he was; yet the first thing he noticed was the busy chatter all around him. He stepped out, noticing the dark alley way he appeared in, only vaguely recognising the sound of the escalator burying back into the floor without a trace in the concrete.
His eyes widened slightly at muffled mutter, he was quick to pace to the corner of the wall, past messy dumpsters, his movement almost causing his newfound hat to slip off his head. He adjusts the new clothing accessory, looking around the place he had been sent two.
Clearly, it were still the streets of inkwell. It actually seemed sort of familiar, like he had passed by before, but he let let little detail slip. He looked up at the building he had been standing by, recognising it as a bar, the very prominent yapping conversations coming from inside. He adjusts his clothing again as he stepped away from the casted shadows, looking into the bustling building.
He counted heads, even recognising some faces as people who watch his shows, the many faces he has looked over time and time again. It was like he had been seeing them for the first time, but with the knowledge of them being his watchers. He stepped inside, looking at all the fancy decor.
The fancy paintings on the walls looked out of place but suited; they marked who had opened the bar and the year it had been opened. A portrait of a older gentleman, rather dapper, in a expensive suit and had been painted in expensive paints, it looked like. He continued to search his surroundings, still wondering why the bar had been so popular.
Sure, the glinting lights had created a atmospheric environment, good to be tipsy in, the main color used for the carpet flooring and the surrounding walls were red and gold.
But it still smelt of regular old boos, and hadn't even been using the stage that had been set up in the corner. The night still seemed lively, dispute the stop of nothing going on. He couldn't help but wonder if he could sneak in his very own show, and turn the night into one of his very own if he could.
He was still captivated by the many drunken friends singing in broken harmony, that he fails to watch a waitress prance up to him. "Can I help ya?" She rather rudely snapped, but King Dice only assumed she didn't notice who he was. He grinned charmingly, flicking the hat to fall off his head before bowing to the lady.
"Why, yes, may you bring me to a table?" He smugly replied, standing up with a still fist full of his hat. He waited for any reaction off of her, but only to see she continued to chew on a toothpick. "Okay, Buddy, follow me.." she turned away, almost leaving him in the crowd of wasted middle aged men. He hurried to keep up, quite in disbelief at her reaction. Rather than; her lack of a reaction.
He was brought to a table, the seats cushioned and light weight to eye appeal, they had also been coloured a significant shade in red and gold as of the rest of the surroundings. There had already been a group of lads there as well, as of how grounded the place was it was the only seat that was free.
"The bar is over there, Pal, if 'der is anythin' ya need." She simply walked off after her little dialogue, leaving him to ask the three men sitting down if he could join. Them, rather loudly, agreed to his company alarmingly willingly. He sat, and as he knew it, it was a rather comfortable for a spineless seat.
He looked over the big sea of crowds once more, trying to see any sign of his so called "rival", but to no luck he can only spot pigs chugging to their hearts delight. Slightly awkward, he leans into the group that looked as if they were in the middle of a card game. "So.." he starts, instead of the group growing at him in annoyance they all grinned, eyes half lidded.
"Sup'?" Was a simple slur of reply from a cat toon besides him. He was quite shocked they weren't as badly drunk as the others in the lot, but he still doubts he'd get clear answers. He tightens his tie, pushing down his mustache to be neater, and grinning at the friendly men. "Why is this place so crowded, huh, fellas?"
As soon as he got the question out the lights dimmed down, a singular beaming shooting out towards the stage. It instantly caught the attention of many, as well as the Dice, as the last thing hastily said to him was a breathless "You'll see in a sec.." the cards of the three players got thrown down onto the table, sighing, cupping their cheeks in their hands.

(if you wanna listen and read idk I also like the Jessica rabbit one better so i put it- just imagine its gender neutral too even tho its known as a "woman's blues" song 😭😭)
It had been silent for a couple moments, a voice seamlessly coming from nowhere with an echo. The rhythm of their voice was flawless, the lyrical words making the King perk up. "You had plenty of money in; 1922~" thick, deep cords strike from the band in front of the stage, blending into the dark with there dark clothing and instruments.
People starting cheering, the singer unfazed by the loud grasping voices as a leg of theirs appears behind the red certain hung up to back sights behind the stage. They make their appearance, outfit show worthy and fancy to a glimpse. The King's mouth hangs open to a gawp, eyes outlining their figure and clothing.
(If your want masc clothing(its still very glam);
They happen to be wearing a red suit, black shirt, and red tie. They hadn't been sparkling with gems but instead with spray on glitter that had been lightly scattered across soft, gleaming skin and only slightly wrinkled clothing. Their black shoes had soft clicking sounds against the wooden build of the stage, the slim heel making them slightly taller. Their gloves were a pale cream, if not white, with three striped markings on the back.
If you want fem clothing(its basically Jessica Rabbit ngl);
They had a bright red gem dress, the clung to the shape of thier body effortlessly showing off their silhouette. There's a slit up the leg of the dress, ending at the very hip on the left side. It reveals the shoes, long tall read blinding heels, that made harsh sounds when they walked(in a suprisingly stable fashion). Their gloves were long enough to reach their elbows, a pale cream, if not white, with three striped markings on the back.
Sorry; please continue :D )
He gulped for air, watching them delicately trailing a hand across their body almost in a teasing manner. They look at all the viewers, like he had been doing moments ago, watching them reach up to try to make contact with their body from up on stage. The glance they give to drunk lads was pure amusement, with one more wipe of the scene they finally find a different view..
A dice, King Dice for that matter, watching from a table, the most sober person at this bar. They almost double took at his sudden appearance, yet with still tuning their voice cords they smirk flirtatiously. They look down at the steps dividing the pianist, that had now also started playing the cords, from other musicians playing the background.
People make way for them to pass through, a line directly heading towards 'The Devil's right hand man'. They're still plucking words, swaying the heads of many people, making a few sing along with them as they traveled through the crowds of drunks and up to the only typically sober individual.
King Dice watches them, almost frozen in his seat, inspecting their body as their swift movements carry them through the large clusters of people. It doesn't hit him how close they are until their voice is ringing in his ears, he still pays attention to them rounding the table, away from him, their voice more broody as they made contact with the cartoon cat besides himself.
The cat, sitting directly next to King Dice, stiffened up, fluffy slim tail lifting up into the air in a straight line. They leaned over him and traced a finger to his hand that was resting on the table, up to his shoulder, and than to his cheek. People swooned and cheered at the 'exciting' actions, but that didn't matter to the mysterious singer as they made eye contact with King Dice the whole time.
They finally depart from the mouse chaser, standing to appear straighter as they finally set undivided attention onto the royal purple dressed dice. They take his shoulder, spinning him in his seat to fully put him on display to the crowds. Still singing into their old fashioned microphone, they let a chuckle slip into their words.
They take his hat, topping it down on their own head, focusing on any emotion they can find in his eyes. They give him a sensual look, furrowing their eyebrows to point upward, widening their eyes to appear more 'doe' like. They pucker their lips, leaning awfully close, close enough for them to know only King Dice can see their change in dynamic.
Their gaze becomes sharper, a grin appearing freshly with the still very much doe gaze and lifted brows.
They watch him falter underneath their look, but as he got lost in the (eye colour) pools of their pupils, they have to get lost in the music. It happens to be the very last line of the song coming up, so with tilting their head they tug tightly onto his tie. They jerk him forward and closer to their face, cheeks brushing against eachother, until the very moment they push him away.
They straighten their stance again, turning. Up and away again, up to the stage with supringly slow motion as they once again passed the many members of the band playing hard to get the moment right, the singer curved their fingers to ball up the fabrics of crimson sheet, looking over their shoulder longingly at their known new working partner.
They smile sweetly at him, over their shoulder, their words still smooth and collected as they maintained eye contact. "Why don't you do right; like other men do?" It almost felt personal, with one more suggestive look, they pull the curtain back and seem into the darkness of the back room.
King Dice can hear his heartbeat in his ears, surely the lights turned back on but the cheering and clapping seemed to be endless. He audibly breathed heavily, patting over his body to make sure he had in fact witnessed the scene in such detail. He felt the random toons at the bar nugging his side, flaring their eyebrows and knocking their head towards stage as a joke.
He looked around for anyone to ask of their name; but only saw the waitress from before. She was still chewing on a toothpick, but the grumpy expression lifted til there was no race on her face. He was cheering among the other people, goo-goo eyes at the person that wasn't on stage anymore. Figuring he wouldn't get the right answers from wasted people around, he gets up from his seat.
He directly goes over to her, standing with other employees, before rudely interrupting their conversations. "Hey!" He states rather abruptly, gaining a collective response other that just her attention. "What;;" he breathes, looking back at the stage and raising a hand to his head. His hat has disappeared. His eyes widen, nervously looking back at her, as the group has lost interest of his reasoning.
"What was their name??" He questions again, getting a quick snappy reply like the first time he had talked to her. "They're not interested, sir." She huffed, crossing her arms over her chest. He looks the toon up and down, pointing to the top of his head at the disserpearqnce of his hat. "They have my hat; and I paid good money for that."
His voice had undertones of a seethe, but he continued to watch the woman huff and gingerly shuffle towards the stage. He followed after, walking towards the door labelled as a "storage" room that was build in besides. He fixed his suit nervously, looking around the booze scented room, hearing the door open and looking in after the waitress called into the room.
"MISS/MR (NAME) (LAST NAME)!! A buster over here is lookin' for ya'!! he wants da' hat back!" He slightly froze, freezing in frame of the moment as the waitress swayed her hips and left the scene. He caught up in the moment, walking into the doorway, and with shakey hands closed the door behind him.
He recalls their last name, but definitely their first name.. his rival, and the devils new so called "number one". (Name). He sees a few steps ahead of him, he quickly but nervously flees up them in a sort of fidgety fashion. He appears in another doorway, and speaking into the small room he sees a particular scene.
They had been sitting upon their seat, a hat still upon their head, and the usual Hollywood mirror staring back at their visue. They peer at him with half lidded eyes, eyelashes fluttering, before a sensual grin pull their face.
"Hello; King."
