MDZS Headcanon - Headcanon that Lan Wangji couldn't go to sleep for the first few weeks of Wei Wuxian's return. Once Wei Wuxian was asleep, he'd check on him every five minutes just to make sure he was real and actually there. It grew to every ten minutes, then every twenty minutes as time went on, followed with a small brush of his hand over Wei Wuxian to ensure that he was a solid being. Lan Wangji made sure to never sleep before Wei Wuxian did and made sure to wake before Wei Wuxian did. Not just to do his morning ritual of prayers and meditation, but to make sure that Wei Wuxian wouldn't get up and leave him behind. Anxiously applying too much medication to any cut or bruise on Wei Wuxian because he didn't want it to fester into something serious. Months later, when Lan Wangji finally felt enough peace to doze off before Wei Wuxian, curled safely beside his husband, Wei Wuxian made sure not to move a muscle out of place. His husband deserved the rest.

Wei Wuxian saying that if anyone had to kill him he would glad for it to be Lan Zhan was such an important part of his character. He was in such a dark place, feeling like love wasn’t even going to cross his mind as an option. He would be glad that Lan Zhan would be the one kill him, his pride and longing for companionship would have it no other way if given the choice. Wei Wuxian holding that special place in his heart for Lan Zhan even when it was so broken— that love and respect manifesting in the most devastating way. It makes sense with Wei Wuxian’s character, he molded himself into someone to be feared and alone so he could protect innocent people. I bet Wei Wuxian felt like having Lan Zhan end his life for him would be his last selfish want. Wei Wuxian just didn’t want to be alone when he died.

The problem with headcanons of Lan Wangji being asexual is that it feeds the "you just haven't met the right person" narrative. Mr. Everyday-is-Everyday is the most sexual horny being in his whole universe (Jin Guangshan doesn't count. He's just a rapist/prostitute). Demisexual seems more like it.
