I find it interesting that the Royal Fire Fam’s lightning all looks different from each other.
Iroh’s lightning has thin barely jagged lines, kind of wispy as well and colored in a very very light shade of blue.
Azula’s actually looks like real lightning. Bright blue with the correct jagged lines you’d expect to see.
And then you have this loser lord. Ozai is out here with just pure anime lightning, with it being filled with thin super jagged lines in white. Makes me think of Raiden from (the 1995 movie) Mortal Kombat’s lightning.
Do you think the way they are generating the lightning makes it look different? As in their state of mind as well as the style of firebending? I just want an actual in-universe answer for this besides being told it’s a stylized choice like with Azula’s blue fire.
My personal theory about the proliferation of lightning generation between Aang and Korra's time is due to Azula.
Iroh stays in the Earth Kingdom for the most part, Ozai's bending is gone, and Zuko never masters lightning generation.
That leaves Azula. And I think her becoming a teacher would be the perfect completion of a redemption arc. She can take pride in passing on her knowledge, without the abuse she experienced.
Idk ‘bout y’all but the way I see it, Percy is acting exactly like a neurodivergent kid. Like, easily distracted, tendency to zone out or daydream, extremely quick to intense emotions (especially about things he’s passionate about), doesn’t always have the priorities most others would have, etc
We always see adhd in media as the hyper, all-over-the-place, in some ways careless character. And some ADHD is like that.
But seeing Percy not fitting into that specific ideal of adhd is gonna be important to a lot of kids who don’t see their neurodivergence represented
i think in the hamster wheel of my mind a big part of where people go wrong with eddie and his shitty garage band as an extension is that they for some bizarre reason think he's gene simmons metal when he's jack black metal. heavy metal. he's tenacious d metal. he's school of rock. he's stoner lord of the rings metal he nearly wore blue jeans and plaid. jack black literally in real life once said eddie was the best character bc he's heavy metal like him. LOOK AT THIS
I will forever push the "In terms of raw elemental power, Jay would be the strongest and most versatile in terms of range of his elemental abilities out of the main group (not including Lloyd obviously)" agenda
So I went to an early screening for the first two episodes of the Percy Jackson show yesterday (Saturday), and let me just say, it is 100% the adaptation we deserve. It was amazing. Once it ended, I wanted more.
The characterizations were amazing, any changes there were made sense and made the situation more realistic and added tension, the story was straight from the book, it was just amazing.
I went with my mom and she, who doesn't know the books, really enjoyed it. I asked her how she liked it (literary just the first two episodes) compared to Harry Potter (which i had her watch a few years back), and she said there was no contest. She likes the pjo show much more. She said it was engaging and even had her wanting the next episode once it was done.
Everyone needs to watch this show. It was amazing. It lives up to the hype. We need to make sure it gets greenlit for season 2.
"It is a copy of a costume piece from an old Earth cinematic masterpiece, Captain. I related strongly to one of the main characters, and found his mantra to be very affirming."
"I've already tried to get him to take it off, Captain, but he just handed me one too and said that I'm also Kenough."
"I have replicated copies of the garment for you and Commander Riker as well, Captain."
