Can I be honest about my rockers spotlight magazine? Im a bit upset with the layout of it. At least compared to the Hart Foundation one I have. You see with the Hart Foundation one almost every page is different and dynamic with photos, the layout and even the colors! However with my Rockers one each page is formatted the same with the same bland font.
I just wish they got more creative with it Y’know? It’s the rockers!!! They’re all about colors!

i headcanon that light sat in his room after going to to-oh college and just thought. "i am not gay, that random emo boy i played tennis with is not hot." lawlight will forever be such a funny pairing to me because it's basically just light going "I'M NOT GAY STOP WASHING MY FEET IN A HOMOEROTIC MANNER" and l being entirely clueless and seeing him as his very first friend

im obsessed with the cover of this magazine i found from 1999 which i think looks like the jedi order had some kind of a space tiger beat equivalent full of hot gossip about notable jedi lol
there are a couple good quotes in the article, like here's ewan about the jedi on screen:
"They frown a bit, and they're good fighters. They stand for everything that's good. Nobody frowns better than Liam and l in this movie because we have the Jedi frown. We're just kind of cool geezers."
i genuinely believe that the decision to have the jedi frown was enough to tank their reputation with a large number of fans who found that off-putting and cold. if the jedi had smiled more, i guarantee that the number of fans who say that they were responsible for their own fall would be much smaller.
like think about it!! literally just bc mace windu frowned at anakin in the phantom menace, people malign his character so much. they read it as anger or disdain, but he was just frowning bc the jedi frown. they are serious people!! yoda said it in episode 5: "a jedi must have the deepest commitment, the most serious mind."
there is a lot that can be unpacked about frowning, the american norms of smiling and facial performance of emotions, and the discomfort people feel when those norms are violated. as someone with flat affect, i FEEL THAT. i love that the jedi are serious and focused. they're space wizard monks, yk?
the other good quote is about how ewan intentionally tried to match alec guinness's voice:
"in the scene in his house where he shows Luke his laser sword for the first time, he's got such a specific voice — the Obi-Wan voice we know... kind of a fatherly voice."
ewan attempting to sound fatherly did things to those of us who are.. sensitive to such things 😅 it's like catnip for my brain personally lol

KINGSMAN SPIES LANDOSCAR!! honestly could put oscar in as harry (looks conservative and staid upon first impression but actually has an edge) & lando as the upstart newcomer who solves problems unconventionally but effectively nonetheless.
i passed a specialist shoe shop earlier today that specialises in leathers and i think there'd be something cool about cobbler oscar who keeps a very quiet shop. he's very reserved. has mainly old clients who he keeps in a handwritten notebook. he's carrying on a cobbler tradition of like 90 years and has trained with some impressive brits and everything. and at night he's the kingsman's service artillery specialist. he just pulls out rows and rows of stuff like Q and is like. "i'd suggest that one. you need a muffler in a place like king's cross station. easy cleanup."
and lando's some rich kid from millfield who has been thrust into the service because his dad sent him as a joke 'cus he's like, you're too coddled. you need to do it before you get your trust fund.
but it turns out that with the right focus and intention lando is actually a brilliant kingsman in the making. he definitely has an eggsy moment at training academy where he has to take out a bunch of trainers using only a ballpoint pen and a textbook or something. he's the only one who figures out that the ballpoint pen has different functions upon specific clicks. one of them is a nanorazor, and another is an incapacitating poison.
and lando, a little bruised, very tired, is about to go on his first mission. he's at oscar's shop, choosing shoes and trying not to glance at oscar and his still hands and his cool demeanour.
then lando is like, "wait. you designed the pen thing earlier didn't you? that was you." and oscar gets this glimmer of a smile and a single arched eyebrow that he presses back down, and is like: "yeah. did you like it?"

day 22: birds
read below for choice explanations
Some explanations for choices:
overall, i chose most of them to be birds you’d see in neighborhoods/around humans
liam - i thought that the fancy pigeon kinda fit with his round silouette + the backpack part is based on war pigeons and how they’d equip them with cameras to spy on the opposing soliders
bryce - i thought crows fit, not much to say. I think his silouette being much more sharper than liams is a nice contrast plus they keep their height different slightly
amelia - basically chose a blue bird, and i think one of the smaller birds fit better. actual finches don’t have like iridescent feathers like she does but uhh creative liberties
charotte - i wanted to give her a more imposing like height compared to the others, so i thought a duck would fit.
taylor - i thought the colours matched pretty well :)
charlie - i was most familiar with baby robins since they’re pretty common where i live, so i just chose that.
airy - i wanted him to be like really tall compared to the others who are relatively small/medium birds, and I thought cranes just fit. finding one that kinda fit with his colour scheme sucked tho 😭 the blue of his head/neck was supposed to be like the glass
