It is his burrow and blanket. #The familiar soup and banter is his home. The familiar arguments and tension are also his home. #Notice how quickly he throws LWJ to the side once he has JC back in reach! 'He was so boring; I wish *you* were there!' #WWX is very quick to constantly remind himself that he fits within a very specific power structure and role. #He pushes boundaries but almost always only the boundaries that he knows he can push against. #Sitting here now and realizing that if WWX did take life more seriously and act more diligent he would totally usurp JC. #Because the contrast with Them (tm) is wwx is the one that gets in trouble and JC is the one that sticks to the rules. #That responsible appearance especially in contrast is the thin line that holds JC's self-esteem together. #And lets be fully honest. From JC's perspective the last week was also extremely intense and stressful. #It truly was a feat to travel so far so fast despite also being exhausted. Never knowing if it is all in vain. #JC said with his actions 'I would move mountains for you and dig through stone with my bare hands if it meant reaching you.' #and WWX said '[read]' #It's about wwx chronically asking 'why would someone care for me? I'm always tool to be used' than accepting that people love him.

CAN WE TALK about how INSANELY GOOD this whole bubbline scene was?

Marceline looking away right after Bonnie tells the truth about the future of the vampire race.

She's trying to attack Marceline while she's not looking, and as soon as Marceline is attacked and grabs Bonnibel's arm, she just says "dum dum" IN THAT SUGAR VOICE. I'M NOT CRAZY, RIGHT? YOU SEE THE TONE OF HER VOICE.

The two on top of each other fighting to be in control and deliver a final blow. Marceline grabs Princess Bubblegum but then gets distracted and loses her position.

and then, they FALL. IN FREE FALL.

VK despairs when he sees that his daughter is falling alongside someone who wants to murder her. He then calls out to all nearby vampires with a roar to try and get the person he loves most.

Then Marceline looks into Bonnie's eyes as they both fall and says that if she kills her, Bonnie will die too. AND THEN PB JUST SAYS "TOGETHER THEN." WTTTFFFFFF

The music throughout the scene. Throughout the dialogue. As they fall, the music becomes more tense and deeper.

And then all the vampires show up trying to rescue Marceline, while PB tries to drive a stake through her heart, and Marceline tries to suck out Bonnie's soul. Fuck.

What a fucking scene.

For me, it was by far one of the most tense and tastiest scenes of Bubbline. THIS IS CINEMA!!!

something about the first few episodes of the terror having so many numbers. the men, the provisions, the inventory; but also the tension of counting. the scene where goodsir takes a picture of john franklin and his men and he's counting down the seconds. the lashes being counted down during hickey's punishment. and something about how in later episodes, numbers get lost. dates get forgotten. counting just stops. all of it becomes insignificant. like it was a countdown at first but now the time is just running out instead

They are gentle creatures. And many are very endangered.” #don't get me wrong here; I love this scene a lot. LWJ's string technique is one of my favoyrite things. #We do get a fair amount of LWJ fighting but I always loved how the theme of strings comes into play. #There is actually a lot to unpack with LWJ being associate with 'strings'. #The musicianship: Of dedication and rigor in one's practice. #The tension between following along a path or composing your own way forwards (playing what has been written vs composing) #A string is a tightly coiled/taunt entity; The same tension that makes it sing so beautifully can be it's downfall if pushed too hard. #And as a non-musical string - something that binds. Be it to his sect and family or how he binds his fate to WWX - #LWJ cannot exist without his binds. It is not something which ties him down though. It keeps him together. #And he himself *is* a bind. He 'ties wwx down' in ways that are initially negatively viewed ('come to gusu' - feels like: come be trapped) #But later it is shown how (despite being introduced as a free spirit) WWX truly wants to be bound to something and someone. #Marriage is a bind he wants. He wants to be tied and grounded by LWJ. #It's starting to sound like innuendo. Let's call his fondness for being literally tied up smart thematic writing. #Finally. Sex scenes that are important to the plot and characters
