My sister and I sound WAY less mushy than you and your sister (no shade, just different relationships obviously) but that's so sweet! I can totally see where she's coming from I don't think I could be a younger sister. However it could change because I think parts 4 and 5 could end up being one part. I'm really not sure. Part of my outline for part 5 literally says "filler episode" so it's meant to be a next to nothing update.

ep46 (3/3): this is what it's all about. but I talk about surgical policy and jc's innumerable issues for several paragraphs first

this is legit one of the most achingly tender scenes, maybe the moat romantic and beautiful until the very last shot. or even more so. debatable. I really love the last shot. but we're starting with...torture

so in order to wrap my head around the truly absurd prospect of someone being awake for 36 hours straight AWAKE given that the pain and physical stress of surgery would cause way more issues, I'm going to assume that the pain wen ning refers to is only partially physical. the rest is what he describes above - the spiritual pain of tearing out the core and feeling that life and energy drawn out of him until he's empty and cold inside. that makes sense to me. the ramifications of having a blood-and-guts awake operation for that long is dizzying. that is straight up torture

ALSO saying he couldn't have painkillers and had to be awake is such a blatant angst-milking from mxtx. usually the story toes the line just enough for believability but this (and wwx living on the streets as a 4 yr old too, tbh) really stretches the imagination. not that homeless young children don't exist but it seemed like wwx really had NOTHING and he hadn't starved to death or frozen or been mauled despite frequently being attacked by wild dogs so idk it seems like a lot to accept. ANYWAY

god this is so depressing for wwx. so I don't want to critique wen qing because modern medical ethics around surgeries were decades in development and it was kind of an unusual situation, but I really don't think wq should have done the transfer. wwx was a healthy individual with a very high risk of death from this procedure. according to some googling (I know), the highest risk for a non-emergency surgery is an exploratory belly case, with a 47% chance of death.

surgeons can and do refuse to operate if the risk is too high (which is partially about surgeons maintaining their numbers, but still). and jc didn't medically need this surgery, so there was no risk of death on either patient. wwx pestering her to try shouldn't have even mattered...like not to deny his bodily autonomy but that kind of medical decision would never fly today. also jc didn't consent blah blah but actually he did? it wasn't fully informed but he knew he was getting a gc from somewhere. also you could argue he wasn't in his right mind but I'm not the surgery police so whatever.

obviously that's not the point and I'm not castigating wq for doing a favor for someone she felt she owed deeply and probably preventing jc from like killing himself, but I can't help analyzing it from a modern periop perspective bc that's kind of what I'm trained for

god, I kind of wish jc had died though. sure it would have been rough and wwx probably would have been hounded by guilt forever and the jiang clan wouldn't have been restored bc jyl would have never gotten the kind of support she would have needed, but ummm maybe wwx could have married lwj + convinced him to help the wens and jyl could have married jzx and it would all have been fine? no, that's silly. jgy was still out there, and if he'd killed jzx and broken jyl's heart then wwx would never have let the matter go. well it's nice to dream

voice deepening tips

ok like, i feel like my voice has gotten low enough and i've been practising enough to be able to help out here

this is for transmasc people, ftm people, or whoever who wants help with deepening their voice

- something i noticed helps a lot of people including myself, is honestly just sickness and dehydration. i literally never drink water, and every day i wake up my voice is sore/raspy and it's the perfect opportunity to start my day off with a really low note.

- i'm not telling you to not drink water, but like, idk maybe it helps?(ALSO!!!!! you actually need to drink a lot of water if you go on testosterone bc amab's need different amount of water than afab's, apparently. so keep that in mind too!!!!!)

- when you wake up and your voice is raw, be sure that the first thing you say in the morning is something deep, like, as deep as you can go, uncomfortably but still possible. honestly, if this is your first time deepening your voice, it is really uncomfortable but i promise you, i swear to god, with practice eventually it's like second nature. it took me like, 5-7 months of practice did i finally get it and finally get used to it.

- talk louder, find an excuse to talk with your deep voice. even when you don't usually say something during a specific situation, say something!!

- these are some tips that helped me or what i think helped me in getting over my fear of sounding stupid when i tried to deepen my voice.

1. i was forced to speak in a deep voice because i was afraid i wouldn't pass bc around that time, a bunch of cis guys thought i was cis, and i didn't want them to change how they acted if they found out. aka, pressure and stress.

2. i listen to a lot of M4M audios, specifically of guys with really low voice (i suggest auralescent, nord, maybe just listen to corpsehusband speak??[for deep voice], angels&bread, ice cold audio[for just in gen]) and i honestly don't know if i genuinely was listening to the audios and absorbing how they talked on purpose or automatically, but i'm 100% sure it helps. he has a lot of masculine mannerisms, and it's awesome because it helps me kinda get into the habit. aka absorb how cis men talk, whether it be your dad, your favourite character on a tv show, your uncle, some boys laughing at a joke in the hallway, whoever it is, just copy them. copy what they say, copy how they say it (if that's what you want to sound like, bc there are a huge selection of cis guy voices to choose from, you just have to choose who you want to sound like)

3. you will always feel stupid when you start out deepening your voice, but heres some advice. don't feel stupid. cis guys don't care, so why should you? ofc this is toxic to say, but this is what i told myself to help get over my fear of sounding stupid. trust me, it's worth it in the end.

4. honestly, idk if this helps anyone, but i took on the voice of a fuck boy, so i say a lot of things like, "nah, yeah, bro, bruh, fr tho, like," when i start a sentence, because it's like a habit. if you don't want to take on fuck boy voice, a very good way to start talking low is, saying, "um, uhh, also, but, etc." but the lowest you can go. like, if you're about to start a sentence, start it with a simple word but say it in the lowest tone you can. (i got this advice from some professional on tik tok)

ex. "um, i'll have a log on a bog." and when you say "um", say "um" really low, like really really low, because it'll help set the bar/octave on where the rest of your sentence will go. it's important to start low because once you speak the rest of your sentence, your voice will probably go higher on instinct, so it's ok if it does but try to keep it on the low. (it doesn't have to be the word "um" but it's the easiest)(also you can do this several times, or every time you start a sentence if you feel like your voice has automatically gone too high)

5. talk with your chest(masc), not your nose(fem). when you're talking, or practising your deep voice, keep your finger on your nose while you talk; if you feel a vibration on your nose, go lower, or just go somewhere where you can't feel the vibration any more. and then keep your hand on your chest to try and feel a vibration there.

6. widen your throat(but don't exaggerate it). can you croak like a frog? like, can you make your throat expand? because if so, that's really useful!! i saw this thing in a youtube video where you have to act like you have a snowglobe in your throat or something, and try talking like that (talking at the bottom of the snow globe, so your chin ig?? or basically your throat)

7. talk louder than you usually do. i'm not telling you to yell or anything, but like, definitely, if you are shy, try to be a little louder and confident in terms of voice. sometimes this doesn't help tho, because sometimes when you're quieter it's easier to control where your voice is going.

8. i said this already, but if you have cis guy friends, mimic what they're saying and how they're saying it naturally. i think this tip is what helped me the most. just watch a show where you like a male character and want your voice to sound like that, eventually, if you're an impressionable person like me, you'll start to mimic them without even realizing it.

9. try to practice talking in a deep voice by going out to order food or something, like, idk you're at a starbucks, talk real low. don't worry about sounding weird or sounding like you have a forced voice. you're practising your deep voice and using it in public is the hardest thing to do, but you have to do it. and listen, if you're embarrassed by what the cashier might think, don't be. because you'll probably never see them again, and if you do, then you can redeem yourself with an even more natural deep voice. (this is what i told myself, so im kinda projecting)

10. i tend to slur my words a lot and kinda talk with my chin, if that makes sense?? i find that i sometimes jut out my chin when im talking really low for some reason, maybe that'll help?? idk like, i think slurring your words probably sounds masculine too.

kinda tired of how yakuza characters all have like the same boring body just with slight tweaks in proportions so here are some body & eating/exercise headcanons for a few characters.

kiryu is probably the closest in my head to how he looks in canon, with the caveat that when he gets ‘out of shape’ in between games, he does actually lose some muscle tone. when hes in his most muscled form during the stressful main events of each game, he really does look LikeThatTM, but he doesn’t really do it on purpose. he just... drinks too many energy drinks and not enough water. kiryu youre dehydrated please take care of yourself kiryu please. also he eats stupid nonsense but somehow still has a hollywood-style body. his arms are SO good. has forgotten to eat vegetables for a whole month before. he has several gunshot-wound scars and also scars from the torture and the abdominal stabbings. [if anyone wants to go through the history and make a ‘map’ of the places on kiryu’s body where he would have scars, that would be amazing. i plan to do it myself but probaly wont have time for a few years.]

nishiki is a bit vain about his body. so hes the Health Conscious One [canon, y0 intro scene]. he doesnt diet exactly and hes always happy to eat a huge delicious meal while out on the town, but on his own he tries to make really balanced meals and stuff. his exercise regimen is second only to his haircare routine. he follows it strictly, but it’s nothing too intense. like kiryu, he’s pretty naturally good at being muscly and toned. hes never as bulky as kiryu though.

nishida is a small guy. stronger than he looks, but not shredded at all, hes just a normal pretty strong guy. loses weight in times of higher stress than usual (i.e. 100000 instead of 10000 stress, which is nishida’s daily level). tattoo is a Buddha and lotus flowers.

majima really freaking cares what he looks like. hes starved-shredded and hed do it on purpose if he had to, he wants to look ripped. he eats like garbage [canon, kiwami smile burger majima everywhere event] or just forgets to eat even though hes hungry. really disorganized and a mess but he looks good??? I guess????? hes passed out before possibly from eating only staminams for two weeks straight malnutrition, but it’s hard to say for sure what the cause was because he also... doesnt.. sleep. his joints are in surprisingly good shape, but his knees always crack when he stands up from his lil crouches. long legs. most impressive body part is probably his thighs and shredded abs. his butt is “the great plains”

its been said before but akiyama has. dad bod.

saejima eats a lot [canon, y5 gourmet substory with the girl] and exercises a lot, and gains weight really easily, muscle and fat. so hes super super bulky and well muscled, but not that shredded. like he often has visible abs but theyre meaty abs, not shrink-wrapped abs. he doesnt care what he looks like, but he wants to be  s t r o n g e. he doesn’t really like western food, and he refuses to even try smile burger. will pretty much eat anything else. despite his iconic eyebrow scar he doesnt really scar easily, most of his wounds heal without leaving too much of a mark. his boobies are one of the seven wonders of the world. also one of the few characters with a bodacious butt.

okudera is quite small, especially compared to the giant-size protagonists. maybe like 5′6″? he’s also one of those people who naturally doesnt get that hungry, and combined with his experience of starvation while dealing with trauma & guilt, the guy never eats enough. still in good shape from trekking all over the mountain day & night, skinny but really compact and sinewy. hes also mega scarred up [canon for his face]. not tattooed. his joints are in phenomenal shape for someone of his age and disregard for his personal wellbeing. gets sick pretty easily though.

kashiwagi. hes muscular but never shrink-wrapped like kiryu sometimes gets, but he has broad shoulders and a naturally snatched waist. his torso still looks like that no matter how many cold noodles he stress-eats. doesnt care at all what he looks like but people find it hard to believe because if they see him shirtless they think he has to be a narcissist (bc theyre jealous). has a really big tattoo (im thinkin full sleeves, etc) but idk what its of. actually only has a few scars aside from the facial scar.

- if you’re rolling your sleeves up, to wash your hands before dinner, he’ll whack your hands away and do it himself. very much “you’re takin’ too long, idiot. i wanna eat already. let me do it.”,, don’t be fooled tho, you could do it in 2.5 seconds and he’d still open his mouth. bc it has absolutely nothing to do with u and everything to do with him wanting to be close to you

-ik he watches the mha equivalent of the history channel. i just know it. dude is a grandpa at heart, n im so confident he would 100% sit down and watch a 3 hr docu on like, old weaponry or some nerdy shit

-bakugou is annoyingly arrogant, but only about things that don’t matter. like, he’ll fully sit in front of you and tell you he’s stronger/faster/smarter in passing conversation,, but when he does actually impressive shit??? the man clams up. absolutely clams up the second you praise him, trying to brush off whatever ridiculous feat he just pulled to protect u with a “It’s not that big a deal, shut up about it already, dumbass.” 

- pls mans is an absolute simp. u ask him to do something and he’s on his feet in a second. ofc he’s complaining but he’s also then following that up by doing things you didn’t even ask him to do. fan behavior honestly.

-when you’ve had a bad day, he’ll make u food and throw blankets in the dryer for u. don’t expect much verbal comforting from him, bc obviously, but he’s pretty good with actions. you always feel a little warmer after he’s wrapped you in a blanket n fed you something ungodly spicy

- i have absolutely no basis for this but ik he secretly watches kids movies. like, if it’s animated then he’s there. ofc no one is allowed to find out about this ‘embarrassing’ behavior tho, except maybe you. maybe. if you accidentally happen to see it bc he’d never tell u himself.

- he’s a beast to wake up in the morning, but he’s a lot more easy to convince if u pet his hair. or rub his back/shoulders. maybe even kiss his neck. look, u cannot tell me that he doesn’t want to be absolutely coddled in the morning- especially when he can get away with it so easily. 

-bakugou always pulls ur legs into his lap if u sit down next to him. pls he’s so weird, he’ll just like, tap his fingers on ur calves absentmindedly while he’s watching tv

-he probably created a playlist of songs ur ‘allowed’ to play around him. meaning, it’s only the songs on ur phone that he likes 🙄

-bakugou always takes his work phone calls outside. like if his phone rings he’ll just stand up n walk tf out the door to take it. even if it’s cold. u ask him once about it n he just “Work stays at work. This is my fuckin’ home. Now shut up about it already.”

-you’ve never once seen this man wearing socks around the house. don’t ask me, i cannot explain this whatsoever, but i just kno this man walks around constantly barefoot 🤢🤮 unfortunately.

-he’s like, the most functional person ever in almost every aspect, but the stuff katsuki is bad at?? pls he is hopelessly bad. like, lets say art stuff. omg he just doesnt have the patience for it, okay, so say goodbye to any dreams of cute lil couple’s crafts. like, he’ll sit there while u do yours, but his will look like utter shit

- during the week, katsuki is either at work, training, or at home. pls, he works so hard during the day that i highly doubt he’s anything but an absolute homebody during the work week.

- bakugou gets pissy if u re-arrange any of the furniture on a whim. pls he likes comfort and familiarity n if he stubs his toe on the stupid coffee table one more fucking time, he’s going to scream

-its a rare occurance,, especially bc of the crazy hours he works,, but bakugou rlly likes making dinner for u to come home to. he just likes to feel like he’s taking care of u tbh

-he still goes to bed at like 8:30. or thats what u think, but rlly he just goes to sit in your room and have some time to himself for a bit. as much as he loves u, he prob still needs some alone time to recharge

-bakugou takes meticulous care of any plants u have in the house. like he’ll water them on a strict-ass schedule, n preen them when necessary. pls the way he’ll curse them out if they even dare to wilt under his care?? very much “What the hell, you bitch? ‘m doin’ everything fuckin’ perfect! Grow already!”

-katsuki is such a little bitch when he’s sick. he’ll be running like a 103 temp, brain literally melting, and still trying to get up and work out. the only way u can get him to chill the hell out is if u take a nap with him. ofc that means u always get sick too,, but hey- lil sacrifices right??

-he never lets you get the door. like, if there’s a knock n neither of u knows who it could be,, pls he’s on his feet so fast. waving u away n looking thru the keyhole w/ sm suspicion

-he has his spot on the couch, n u will not find him sitting anywhere else. like, that’s his spot. u better pray for anybody who mistakenly takes it

-bakugou doesn’t like dirt or grime, so he won’t allow you or himself, to sit on your bed with clothes that have been outside. like, even if you’re just sitting on top of the covers, he’s gonna throw a fit and demand you change your clothes first bc “No way in hell am I gonna let your dumbass dirty up my bed.”

-katsuki rlly likes when it storms outside. he’ll go sit in front of the window and watch the rain, sipping on a warm drink while he waits for more thunder. 

-living with bakugou is incredibly frustrating, bc he’ll just show up with new skills all of the goddamn time. like you’ll be like, “hmm i’d love to remodel the bathroom someday”,, and the very next weekend bakugou is meticulously re-tiling the bathroom floor by hand, probably also painting the walls in a new color, maybe even installing a new sink just to spruce it up. n then he’ll just present the entirely new, upgraded room with such weird nonchalance that it pisses u off. pls and if you watch him while he does these little projects, with all the weird precision and skill he suddenly gains?? pls you’re sure he must be possessed by the ghost of a craftsman

- when he hangs out with the bakusquad, he’ll drag you along every time. he expects you to sit with him the entire time and act as a social buffer?? basically, someone’ll ask him a question, one he deems stupid and therefore not worth answering, and bakugou will just look at you expectantly. he’ll just stare at you blankly, hardly even blinking until you pick up the slack and answer for him. you call him out on this many times, but it doesn’t matter. it doesn’t change anything. he does this over and over and over again

-bakugou gets really unsettled when you guys fight. like, he can’t sleep and he’s snapping at everybody, and is somehow more aggressive than usual. he always wants to just make up already, but the pride in the way won’t allow it

-he’s a weird stickler about intended furniture functionality?? like, the table is for eating, and the couch is for watching tv, and then only way you’re gonna get him to mix the two is if you ask him rlly rlly nicely

-finally- i have no basis for this one, but ik it in my heart: bakugou has a very intense fight with your thermostat nearly every single day. he swears up and down that it never ‘behaves’ for him, but every time you check it, it’s working perfectly fine

and that’s all that occurs during day two

your ankle without warning gives out on you and you’re sent crashing back down to the ground

closing your eyes and bracing for impact you’re pleasantly surprised when levi catches you by the waist

your weight is leaning onto him and you’re looking down to the floor

hange is yelling from across the courtyard telling levi to drop you off at the infirmary but he doesn’t need to be told that

his instincts do the talking for him and he’s already slung you over his shoulder and begins carrying you towards the base

“levi. put. me. down. this position’s embarrassing.”

he doesn’t respond and you can hear sasha and connie cackling at the compromising situation

swatting his back you’re huffing and puffing yet he’s still ignoring you

you’re being given the silent treatment but you suppose you do deserve it

sighing you deal with the stares you receive on the way there

this is levi and at this point nothing is seen as abnormal when he does it

you can’t really look behind you to see levi’s expression either but when a cadet walks past and mouths “y/n, what the hell did you do??” you know you’re in for it

eventually he reaches the infirmary and without even letting you get a word in he plops you onto the bed albeit a little rough

“what’s with the cold shoulder?” he places both his arms by your sides leaving you trapped

he gives you one last grin and pushes you up against the wall, your back is against the cold yet solid surface and you tense up

oh god. it’s happening he’s diving down and it’s as if everything is moving in slow motion.

gradually you feel the familiar feeling of your heart jumping out of your chest

both of your lips mould together, he’s hoisting you up again preventing you from slipping away. hungry hands grip at your thighs and a knowing smile twitches across his mouth.

nipping at his bottom lip he groans and you nearly forget why it is he’s kissing you

that is until you hear a SCREAM from your right

“eren what the fuck are you yelling at?” jean’s voice can be heard scowling in the distance but you’re too distracted by levi’s mouth to care

eren must be speechless because nothing is heard until jean reaches the scene

“OH. MY. GOD.”

“WHERE IS REINER??? HE’S NOT GONNA BELIEVE THIS.”

“you’re both overreacting.” mikasa makes her appearance and you’re not sure if she’s seen you and levi yet because your eyes fluttered shut long ago

“Y/N AND THE CAPTAIN????? WHY ARE YOU JUST STANDING THERE MIKASA??” eren’s voice sounds so distressed you guess you’re right for assuming he may have had a crush on you at some point

“it was obvious, i don’t know how no one else knew.”

finally levi pulls away and you’re panting practically gasping for any traces of air

“what you looking at brats?” levi snaps in their direction and mikasa nonchalantly shrugs and walks away

jean and eren however, dash away at LIGHTENING speed probably on their way to let everyone else know of the shocking new development

levi pecks your forehead and you nudge your nose against his.

since that day you and levi have been able to get away with a lot more pda

you can hold his hand and stare at how pretty your hands look laced together

you can nuzzle your face into his neck without any questions 

you can loop arms with him and even if he acts like he doesn’t enjoy it he genuinely does like walking around with you latching onto his bicep

although he still prefers the privacy of his office he’s more than happy to give in once in a while

and at the end of the day you’re ecstatic because there’s no more kissing behind your horse!!!

okay despite the fact that I finally decided to get this thing out of my inbox I actually still have no idea how to answer this. the one thing that keeps coming to mind is cheek touches, so we’ll go with that? a caretaker stroking their charge’s cheek to soothe them, holding their face to look at them, maybe even laying the backs of their fingers on them to check for fever. idk, I’m a big fan in general of physical contact as comfort. (also, if we wanna be slutty about it, I will never not be gay for a caretaker holding tissues for a sick partner/crush.)

9. what are some settings you wish you saw more often - temporal, geographical, social? what about character types or dynamics?

character dynamics I would always love to see more of: established relationship, and more specifically established consensual kink! one partner with the kink and the other one well aware and getting off on how worked up they can get them, or both (or multiple!) partners with the kink and knowing the other has it. also, like, can we get more fics where someone has a cold but they fuck anyway? like, I’m all for the caretaking but also I am hørny.

a character type I’ll always have a soft spot for is Super Big super shy super sneezy. also those characters who are calm, gentle, softspoken, even-keeled (though perhaps unusually I prefer that type as the sick/allergic one, not the caretaker). opposites really do attract, lmao.

the settings bit is harder to answer; I’m honestly not creative and I pretty much enjoy reading whatever y’all come up with. I guess I tend to favor past (historical/fantasy) and present (modern) over future (sci fi/spec fic)? -Katherine, I get why you’re upset, but you kind of should be unsurprised?? Your dad was unfaithful to his wife, most kings were. Henry VII and Richard III were the exceptions, and even they had illegitimate sons before their marriages. Many kings also had official mistresses that everyone knew about, so by the standards of the time Henry and Bessie are actually being pretty tactful in at least trying to keep their affair out of sight. (Sexy dancing aside). 

-Honestly it would have been so much more moving if KoA was like “I know kings take mistresses...but I thought...I was so sure... he would be different...”

-”they gave me a purse of gold!” It’s expected that you give the monarch lavish presents, lmao Ursula and Stafford would do that even if they hated each other and you

-”everybody loves a masque” the only sensible thing Henry has said so far in this show. Also court probably had way more masques than we see in the show, and it would standard to have a masque every holiday.

-seems a rather depopulated masque? If the Chateau Vert pageant is anything to go by putting on a masque was a court activity, with most of the ladies performing.

I do at least trust the writers of this show that the understatement was intentional, I’m sure even Emma Frost couldn’t forget a major character getting violently drowned.

-So the court only noticed the plague when one of their own got it so obviously and then died? Yes, plague could move fast, but if there was a whiff of plague the court would flee with the speed of the Looney Tunes road runner. If an acquaintance of an acquaintance of a cook had a cousin who saw someone with the plague, the court would flee to the country. How have these people not died of terminal stupid?! Like Compton was in the same building as the heir to the throne

-To be fair, it makes sense that they’re surprised Compton’s dead. Because the real Compton died of the sweating sickness. In 1528. Also he was involved in Buckingham’s downfall so... you just wrote yourself into a corner.

The masque was Henry’s idea, not hers, she hasn’t shown off about her affair, she hasn’t demanded money or titles, she hasn’t demanded any status to rival Katherine’s, she doesn’t flirt with or even speak to Henry when Katherine’s around, she acts like they’re strangers, she doesn’t even react when Katherine loses her temper...someone please please stick up for Bessie!

But Bessie’s been betrayed by Henry too, and there’s no concrete evidence she ever gloated about her affair, to anyone let alone Katherine.

Also calling Bessie selfish...Bessie’s not the one who lashed out at Lina, was jealous at Lina for having twin boys, and who wanted to continue a war for personal reasons. And then Bessie proves KoA wrong 5 hot seconds later by sticking up for Mary. Bit rich of KoA to be all “how dare you leave my daughter unattended” when she herself won’t even hold Mary.

Meds/treatment question abt your chronic illess - has your doctor tried medication for your fibro? My rheumatologist put me on hydroxychloroquine and at one point was considering adding sulfasalazine; I added valacyclovir because i was getting nonstop cold sore breakouts and my fibro seemed to get better than on hydroxychloroquine alone - there are drugs in trial right now based on the hypothesis that fibro is an immune response to hsv-1 infection, which you can have with or without cold sores.

Sometimes what i hear is that doctors don't really know what to do with fibro, i know my psych was surprised i was on hyd for fibro, and I saw your post about your doctor telling you to move more (imo moving *too much* may be the culprit, because there was a time even going on a walk could send me into a flare - healthy exercise for fibro is supposed to progress on a graduated scale) so I was wondering whether meds were accessible for you or had even been offered as an option.

Tangentially related - it's weird she didn't know what could cause a 3 month long period because that's not an uncommon problem and usually has to do with a hormone imbalance - also since you have chronic urinary tract pain, has your doctor considered interstitial cystitis?? Symptoms can vary based on the presence of a period so the co-occurence may be something to pay attention to.

(This got kind of long and I hope it's not irritating because I know "have you tried-?" really can be but to me it's less so when coming from someone who also has chronic illness. Also maybe some of this you already know but I try not to just assume someone knows something esp about illnesses that perplex everyone from patients to researchers bc that feels idk condescending but. Fibro fucking sucks and can be deeply disabling and having doctors go "lol idk" about your symptoms can feel really shitty and demoralizing so I hope you're able to find treatment providers who know their shit and are willing to have a level and open dialogue with you and listen to you without being dismissive)

my doctor won’t consider anything. The new pcp says it’s fibro, old pcp says it’s cfs/me. cfs/me makes more sense than fibro, but i have to go with what my pcp has me diagnosed with.

all i know is that my body doesn’t work anymore, and i can’t stop sleeping. i got sick with the ebstein-barr virus, had a bad fever, then my entire body and brain started to injure itself. this happened at the same time that i had an MRI on my back and hip because it became unbearable to deal with, and they found a tear in my discs, degeneration in my lower back, and that im missing cartilage in my right hip, but there’s a cute little cyst there. i have mild anemia, and yeah. i probably have either/both PCOS and endometriosis because my mother has both. cysts anywhere in my reproductive or urinary tract wouldn’t be a surprise.

this is all ignoring that i have raynaud’s, livedo reticularis, hidradenitis suppurativa/ acne inversa that’s scarred most of my chest and inner thighs and is pretty fucking bothersome to have, and that my teeth are misaligned in a way that absolutely needs braces because it causes re-occurring infections to my mouth and lips. this year, all four of my wisdom teeth decided to break through and all four are impacted, so i’ve had a lot of bleeding in my mouth, infection twice so far, and my regular teeth are already being harmed by it. i can’t afford all of this BS though.

medications are difficult with me because of my thyroid disease, my intestines not working, my mental health + addiction, and psych medications. they tried cymbalta(useless), some muscle relaxers that seemed like sugar pills, a ton of NSAIDS(before we knew i can’t have those due to my GERD and intestines), and a few medications they use for autoimmune disorders. but i’ve never taken what you’ve said. i have a TENS unit that’s better than most people’s, but that doesn’t do much but feel good while it’s turned on to a grossly high setting bc it’s just self harm to distract from it, lol.

i don’t see a rheumatologist because, as my pcp and the half-ass rheumatologist i saw last year say, against all odds in my family history and my symptom resemblance, i don’t have an autoimmune disorder(specifically Lupus is what everyone was assuming). i see a pcp who’s a D.O. and does nothing but send referrals sometimes, put me on a birth control that made me nearly bleed to death, said she now won’t give me birth control or hrt(she wouldn’t anyway because she’s mildly transphobic. normal in my area❤️), and put me on a laxative so i can have a false functional GI tract.

sometimes i see the anesthesiologist like today, but he told me i need surgery this morning, and he can’t do anything but steroid injections if i ever have the money for more sessions of that, but that didn’t help enough for the price last year. so, i guess i won’t see him anymore.

my psych gives me 2700mg gabapentin per day for the nerve pain/restless legs/anxiety. he also gives me 450mg wellbutrin to try to help with energy. i’m supposed to start ketamine, but i can’t find a compound pharmacy that will work with me, to no ones surprise in texas. (edit: we canceled ketamine and he put me on adderall per request to help me get a job)

the type of exercise and PT has to be careful right now because we don’t know what happened to my left side of my back and hips yet. i think i was injured more seriously than i had thought when one of the dogs made me fall on my back at work. which sucks because the bitches fired me for shady reasons, and it would have been nice to have them pay for my potentially needed surgery.

honestly? the medication that helped me the most has been adderall. i act like a fucking idiot while on it, and it’s not healthy- but it’s the only option i have right now. i hope soon that i can stay off of it and try ketamine. i wish MDMA was green-lit, because i’ve heard good about pharmaceutical molly, and that’s my favorite recreational drug </3 still being tested to make sure it’s safe, though.😔

anyway, you aren’t a bother. and it wasn’t an annoying ask. i just don’t really know. i’m in an area with doctors who aren’t the best, hate transsexuals, have god complexes, and i’m out of money. so, yeah. i probably have issues that could be helped or that i’m not diagnosed with, but there’s nothing i can do at this moment but pray and be angry.

i’m gonna get drunk and take the xanax my dad gave me as a fucked up ‘apology’ and control tactic that i am walking into like those boxes with cheese and a string. hoping i pass out soon. thank you genuinely for trying to help, love.

3. Are you typically too warm or too cold? too cold! definitely ;; that’s why i hate living here when summer is like maybe two weeks and otherwise am freezing 24/7
