Idk if some of y'all even care about this but as a kid I would always watch "The Princess and The Frog" and I loved the film dearly. But one thing I was always interested in was Dr. Facilier. He was intriguing to me I would wonder "how'd he get into Voodoo?" "What's his backstory?" "How'd he meet his friends on the other side?" Never did get an answer..but today I went to YouTube and watched a clip of the movie where Facilier is talking to his "friends" and I went to the comments people we're saying "this guy deserves his own movie" "I wish we knew his backstory" and so I took to Google and tried to find anything about Facilier. This is what I found...so far?

Facilier also claims to practice Hoodoo or traditional folk magic.

In an earlier script, Dr. Facilier would not just be a dark wizard who wants to conquer New Orleans with the help of his friends, he would have been Mama Odie's son, who followed the path of the dark arts, unlike his mother. In this same script, there was to be a showdown between the two of them, which would have converged into a major battle during the Mardi Gras.

Facilier was originally named Dr. Duvalier after Francois "Papa Doc" Duvalier, the Voodoo practicing genocidal dictator of Haiti. Duvalier also had a fondness for dressing as Baron Samedi but also prayed to Jesus Christ. Perhaps to avoid reprisals from Duvalier's remaining supporters, the name was changed to "Facilier" from "facilitate" meaning "to enable."

Facilier is the first black Disney Villain and the fourth to be French or have French origins.

Facilier appears to resemble Baron Samedi, the Haitian voodoo Loa of the dead. He wore a top hat, a tuxedo, and other accessories. He too has associations with voodoo spirits. It may be presumed that Facilier is a worshiper of Samedi.

For those who don't know this is Francois "Papa Doc" Duvalier ⬇️

Because apparently this account is now for random movie rambles as I rewatch films for the 100th time-

A watch through of Princess and the Frog:

Anyone else think it is hella suspicious that someone wanted that sugar mill only after she wanted to buy it?

- After the movie was done, it was explained to me by friends that this is a common scam to squeeze more money, especially targeted against POC potential buyers. No one else was bidding, they just wanted more money. My child brain just didn’t fit that together the first couple watch throughs- I mean, they clearly still had it for sale a long time later in order to be threatened at the end of the film… assholes.

Gathering a group of travelers by appealing to thier dreams is a very American story, Ala Wizard of Oz- the idea of the individual goals. This is Naveen, Tiana, and Louis. But then comes Ray, who is just trying to be helpful. That feels more old world, and he leads them to the old world magic- the woman of power in the wilderness. :)

Lawrence was frightened by the idea of a controlling wife, while Naveen was impressed with a well thrown book, and Tiana had dreams that included showing all the boys how it’s done. And her friend is very commandeering, and the object of all the men. There’s a theme of strong women and respect for them here- which makes sense. 1920s fairytales are just out of the Victorian era and the invention of the fairy godmother. And here comes Mama Odie. She even has the mother title.

Naveen and Tiana are so perfect for eachother. Beyond him being ok with her ambition and hustle, she needs his people skills for her resteraunt- you need a front man 😁

First time I can think of in a Disney film that an outside perspective for love song had thier own love to sing about 💘

Every good char in this movie is immediately willing to help someone out, even when- especially when- it inconveniences them. That is how you let your characters be very strong characters, even occasionally overwhelming other characters, and still be good people and likeable. This is how we bond with Lotti, and then Naveen, despite them having domineering personalities.

The way Naveen admires things about Tiana even before he likes her- then when he loves her, the way his face lights up as he watches her.

The wishing star has a name now 🥰✨ Evangeline

Anyone else think froggy Naveen is based a little on John Bob from Swan Princess? Those leg spots look familiar is all I am saying.

Never has good foley hurt so badly as that tiny crunch. 💔🪳

Most important line- “He didn’t get what he wanted, but he had what he needed” was given to her by her mother, who also introduced her to the upper class of town. He mother was so important to this story.

The marrying of Lotty is very “old chivalry” anything for my lady, while the tale itself is very peasant tale of pulling together to get through. As many American tales do, you gotta get ALL the tropes in there. 🪄

Ray is such a well designed character. He is wise, and has common sense, and allies and skills, and LIGHT to oppose the shadows- and they balance it by making him small and fragile. Is… is he the wizard of the party? Not nessisarily in the DND way that is very academically type, but in the LOTR classic fantasy way, that makes one member of the group to be the big support to everyone else, but can also be fridged when needed. 😅🥲 Brings wisdom and all else you need but destined to go out ina blaze of glory???

Happy that his parents seemed to be- “finally someone took him in hand” and could care less about her social position.

First time this white girl heard Neo was sitting through the credits of this film in the theaters. Still love his music. 🎶

i love the fact that that minisode is SUCH a significant shift in aziraphale & crowley’s relationship it honestly took me a while to process given the fact that we know what they’re each like present day but they weren’t always like that, i.e. more aware of each other’s gray area

also unironically love how ridiculous crowley looks as bildad it’s honestly camp and i once wore similar glasses when i dressed as mama odie from princess and the frog for my school spirit day

Do you have any headcanons about Mama Odie being Dr. Facilier's mother? How they ended up on such different paths, him being sent to the Isle, and so forth?

And/or her relationship, therefore, with Celia and Freddie (and Uma, if you go by that headcanon too)?

I honestly don't have many but I do have a few-- here we go. Also, warning, I tried my best to remain sensitive while talking about the voodoo in the movie but I'm not 100% how well I managed. So if you think I could word any of these points better, let me know.

The reason Mama Odie and Facilier had their falling out is because she refused to teach him the ways of Voodoo and the other things she had learned/had been passed on.

Why did she refuse, you may ask? Because she had seen it corrupt many-- like her husband-- and didn't want the same for her son.

She figured that by not teaching him, he'd be safe from the greed of his human nature and the power that learning voodoo brings.

She didn't take into account that jealousy and spite could also be corrupting or the fact that her son could learn it from elsewhere.

Which is exactly what Dr Facilier did.

Eventually, Odie found out that he had been learning it (either from himself or elsewhere) and they had a big fight about it.

Harsh things were said on both sides and it is now known as the Facilier big blow out.

Dr Facilier was 18. He left home and never came back.

While Mama Odie was 197 in the princess and the frog, Dr Facilier was alot younger.

Dr Facilier is older than he looks during the events of the princess and the frog-- while he appears to be in his 30s, he was actual about 53.

Dr Facilier's first name is Landen.

Odie is short for Odette but no one calls her Odette.

Mama Odie use to sing 'Dig A Little Deeper' to Dr Facilier when he was a small boy.

Dr Facilier spent his time after leaving home traveling and scamming people before eventually traveling back to New Orleans and keeping off the grid so his mother wouldn't find him.

Mama Odie became more of a friendly hermit after this-- barely leaving the woods after that.

Mama Odie always helped those who sought it-- even when Dr Facilier was young.

Dr Facilier loves his mama's cooking and use to watch her help others. Especially when she was using voodoo to help them.

Mama Odie never stopped loving her son and never stopped regretting their falling out.

She was heartbroken when her son was sent to the isle and was even more heartbroken when she found out that she had grandchildren.

Mama Odie learned from her mistakes with Landen/Dr Facilier and taught Opal of their heritage and a bit about voodoo and the risks and benefits of it.

Dr Facilier taught all his kids about their heritage and the other things he had learned but warned them to be careful because of his 'friends' on the other side. He didn't want his kids to suffer the same fate.

He has 6 kids depending on the universe we're speaking of-- in my Hannah Hook verse he has 6, in yours he has 3/4?, and so on.

Mama Odie has a good relationship with her daughter and granddaughters and is sad that she never got to meet Francis.

Meanwhile, her relationship with John is alot like her relationship with her son-- rocky.

Dr Facilier has trouble remembering dates-- he always has but after getting dragged by his friends from the other side to the other side it worsened.

And the malnutrition certainly doesn't help with it.

Which is why he has trouble remembering Freddie's birthday. He's very apologetic when he does forget, though, and always tries to make up for it.

Opal's relationship with her nieces and nephews is like that of a sibling relationship. Rocky and unpredictable.

Mama Odie's relationship with Uma can be a bit rocky at times as well because they're both stubborn but they get along better than others do. So that's something.

After the barrier is brought down, the 9 of them slowly but surely bulid/repair their relationships.

Mama Odie also grandmothers all their half siblings and friends, even though they aren't related to them. Because that's just the type of person she is.

She also teaches all the kids how to cook and a few other things she learned. She also loves listening to them sing and is often amused by their antics.

A diversion from the IAC universe...

This started as a Disney Princesses thing but expanded to include female characters from Disney films that would fit the bill.

Basically finding a Marvel equivalent for Disney characters.

Snow White:

Snow White - Struggling to think of a Marvel character that is good at sleeping, with a weakness for poison apples.

She does charm all the animals when she's singing, maybe Nature Girl? Or Nina Gurzky from the Apocalypse movie.

Cinderella:

Cinderella - Sersi (w blue colour scheme)

Although it’s been pushed back until 2024 (unfortunately), I am still really interested in the Tiana TV series. I am really looking forward to what kind of adventures Tiana will have and how she will balance her new responsibilities as both a princess and a restaurant owner. Plus I can’t wait to see the return of beloved characters like Naveen, Louis, Mama Odie and Charlotte and get to see more of New Orleans and especially Naveen’s home, Maldonia. However, I am sad that Ray won’t be returning since he died at the end of the movie and I am curious about Naveen.

There isn’t a doubt in my mind that Naveen will be back, but his original voice actor might not be. Bruno Campos, the man behind the voice of Prince Naveen retired from acting years ago and so that begs the question who will be Naveen’s new voice actor... but there might still be a chance. A new Princess and the Frog theme park for Disneyland will be opening and it’s confirmed that Bruno Campos will be coming back to reprise his role as Naveen. 

If he’s willing to return for that then maybe there’s a chance he might reprise his role for the TV show after all? Although a park and a TV series are two completely different things you never know and he wouldn’t be the first actor to come out of retirement. In the end, I’ll accept no matter what happens, but it just really got me thinking is all.

Everything would have been fixed if YOU were a princess like you proclaimed.” “I never said I was a princess, YOU were the one who assumed that I was.” “You right but there’s nothing we can do about it.” “Shut up and let’s just find Mama Odie.”

After finding Mama Odie, you guys found out that Ran’s hunch indeed was right and that only with a princess’s kiss would the spell be broken. Before venturing back to town, Kisaki’s shadow demons took Ran before you could notice. “It’s just me again I guess.” You disappointedly said as you couldn’t find a single trace of Ran. You headed back to town alone.

The little birdie who informed you with the news of Mama Odie told you how they saw Ran getting taken away by the shadow demons and that’s when you full on dashed back home. The birdie flew ahead and was able to find Ran and free him, not to mention how they were also able to snatch the talisman that was disguising Ran’s butler as him. The bird tossed the talisman to you and you were confronted by the evil shadow man himself, Kisaki Tetta. “Ah Y/N right? Hand over the talisman and I’ll make your wish come true.” “You could really make it happen?” “Why yes of course, just give me the talisman and I’ll get you your restaurant.” “Ha, I would never let you get away with your evil plans.” You smashed the talisman on the ground and broke it and Kisaki was dragged back to the voodoo spirit’s world.

“Y/N? Why didn’t you just give him the talisman?” “I couldn’t let him use you like that.” “But why? You didn’t have to for my sake, after all I’m the one who got us in this mess.” “I just wanted to ok!” “Ha, feisty as always.” “Moving on, what do we do now? It’s already past midnight and there’s no other way to turn you back now.” “I don’t even care anymore, as long as I’m with you, I’m happy staying a cat.” After spending time with Ran you realized how he wasn’t a pampered spoiled prince anymore, he has changed for the better. The rude prince you first met is now staring at you with heart eyes and giving you encouraging words and how could you not fall for him after that.

Time passes and you and Ran have spent lots of time getting to know each other to the point that he popped the question and asked you for his hand paw in marriage. You agreed and you both held a small little wedding with all the animals you guys befriended in the forest. With Mama Odie as the witness you guys exchanged your vows and sealed the deal with an enchanting kiss. A bright light surrounds you both and you both open your eyes to see each other’s human forms. A large gasp comes out of Ran. “Once you became my wife, that made you-” “A princess. You just kissed yourself a princess.” “And I’m about to do it again.”

Furo:

"My grandma was a self taught witch and would brew potions in the swamps around Jubilee Port...One of the memories I have is of her drinking this tea blend she made up on the porch while I looked for frogs."

Based on Labrador tea or bog tea and the potion Mama Odie makes in The Princess and the Frog. Furo loves tea and truly shines as a Pomefiore student when at a tea party. They know the rules and is pretty good at differentiating at least between black, herbal, and white teas. They get it from their dad's side, and it was also how they learned to forage.

Ronald:

"Not only can I be rough-and-tumble, but I can be sofisticated too! Is there anything I can't do?"

He can't stand tea. Or coffee really. Tea just tastes like hot grass water and coffee tastes like bitter old folks. He likes hot chocolate, specifically the ones made with white chocolate melts. He got dragged to a few tea times at the nursing home so he knows tea party rules, he just always had hot chocolate in the cup instead.

Florian:

"Dolores did what?! Oh my how interesting. Well, I had heard that..."

Boy loves spilling tea during tea time. He is picky about what you put in front of him. Coffee, tea, whatever unholy creation you happen to place in front of him when he is to enthralled with a story. Has an iron stomach. May say something along the lines of "Oh, that has a bit of bite to it. Did you steep this long?"

Phoebus:

"Look at how the cream ripples into these pretty designs...Wow...Aww, it’s fading away. I guess I should drink then.”

Phoebus likes latte art, so he tends to get lattes. Could be tea-based lattes or coffee based, he just wants to look at the cool designs done. It calms him down. You won’t see him drinking it often, though. He doesn’t like drinking things other than water too often. If you get him on a day that he feels like treating himself, he will gladly take a cup offered to him.

Mortimer:

“Ah, ah, ah! Hold that thought...*sip* Haa~ such a lovely blend. Smooth going down, and warms you up. Gives me the tingles. Hm? Oh, I just didn’t want your chatter to ruin my beverage.”

Based on raspberry tea and the champagne Professor Ratigan drinks in The Great Mouse Detective. Mortimer has no particular feeling towards tea, coffee, hot chocolate, or any other drink. If it makes him seem elite, then he will drink it. If it tastes bad, he will make himself like it. He is slightly more inclined to drink berry flavored drinks.

Tido:

“I-I made dish dwink myself! I-I like da col-color of it! You want shome? I’ll make it extra, extra special for ya! It got bwuebewwies, mint, and shimple shyrup! W-wait while I go make, make it.”

Tido likes to make drinks more than drink them, but he does try what he makes to see if it is good or not. He is an impatient type, so hot drinks are a no go. He will burn his tongue 100% of the time he is given a hot drink. So cold teas are the closest he’ll get. He’ll have tea parties with his dolls frequently though!

Your Pov: {2020} 

“Hey Skates! Ready to head out?” Willie asks as he comes into my dressing room and I smile at him. 

“Yup. I’m excited. I haven’t been down by the pier since… almost a week ago. I’ve been too busy here,” I say and Willie pulls me into a side hug. 

“Oh you’ll really love it then. The waves hitting the beach, and the sand….” Willie lists off a few of my favorite things about the place. 

Little did he know, though, is that those are not one hundred percent the main reasons for going all the time. My main two reasons were that it reminded (and it still does to this day) of my boyfriend and big brother.  

“Did I ever tell you why I love going so much?” I say as I loop my arm in his before we apparate to the beach. 

We end up only like a block from the beach seeing as we like to walk some of the way there. 

“I thought it was the sand and waves. I mean that was my guess. You just look so peaceful when we go….” he says and I give him a light smile. 

“I mainly go because it reminds me of my boyfriend and brother. Whenever we go it’s like all the sweet memories come flooding back,” I say with a content smile on my face, remembering.

“You never talk about them. Tell me something about them?” Willie cautiously questions.

“Of course I can, Willie. I’d always be willing to tell you stories,” I say and he smiles at me. 

“What do you wanna hear about first?” I say and he laughs. 

“How about why you love this specific beach so much….” Willie says and I smile as all the memories flow into my mind. 

“Well, that’s easy. Me and the boys-” I stop myself just for a moment as I tear up at all the wonderful memories before I start back up again. 

“We’d come to this specific beach almost weekly. They’d set up on the pier and sing for people so they could get some money and be heard, ya know get a following…” I say and Willie nods with a small smile as I continue on. 

“Then after that we’d all go down to the actual beach and have these nice lunches I always made…” I say as I tell him the story, but only get choked up again. Willie gives me a side hug as we continue to walk. 

“Anyway, we’d eat lunch then all just kinda hangout here. We’d either play in the water or sit on the sand and just enjoy each other’s company, ya know?” I say and Willie nods. 

“Yeah, kinda like we do…” Willie says with a wide smile that makes me smile back. 

“Yeah kinda. But Luke, Luke knew I didn’t like that stuff all the time and that I’d get really stressed in the day to day stuff. So sometimes he’d bring me here for our weekly dates….” I say and get choked up once again as I think about my sweet, sweet boyfriend. 

“We’d walk down to the old arcade and play some games, mainly Rock Band of course… everything was music with Luke...” I say with a roll of my eyes, but my smile never leaves my face. 

“After that we’d go down and find our favorite restaurant-” I say as we walk and Willie cuts me off. 

“You mean Millie’s, right? Is that why we go there every Saturday?” Willie asks as we now settle on the playground by the beach. 

“Yup. Me and Luke used to do Saturday lunches and dates…. It was our favorite little diner,” I say with a smile at the thought of all those Saturdays spent with Luke. 

“We actually used to know the owner. Millie was a bright-eyed old woman who was in love with mine and Luke’s love story. She’d always give us free food and smile at us. Ya know mama Odie from princess and the frog?” I say and Willie smiles a wide smile as he nods his head while I sit on one of the swings. 

“Well she was like mama Odie. A little weird, but still the sweetest lady I’d ever met. Her granddaughter actually reminds me so much of her,” I say and let out a giggle as Willie starts to push me lightly. 

“After Millie’s, he’d bring me here. He knew the playground was my favorite place in the whole world. We’d come and I’d sit on one of the swings. He’d push me much like you're doing now, but he’d only do it for a short time before sitting on his own,” I say and smile when Willie’s eyes light up like a kid would when their parents are telling them an amazing love story. 

“So you guys just hung out here the whole rest of the time?” Willie asks and I nod as he now decides to go try some tricks off to the side of the playground. 

“Yeah, I’d swing. He’d sing as he knew his voice was very calming to me, seeing as these dates were to get my mind off of all the stresses the world provided,” I say and let out a sigh. 

“I miss his voice so, so much. I wish I could hear it again. Ghost life would be so much more simple if he were here….” I say and Willie nods solemnly as I continue to swing. 

“Why do you love the swings so much?” Willie asks, trying to change the topic (but he didn’t know it was still on topic) now that he sensed that I was upset. 

“Oh that’s easy. Much like I used to tell the boys. It’s because when you get very high on the swings, you simply feel like you're flying and like there’s not a care in the world. That’s how it always was with Luke, he just had that about himself,” I say and Willie smiles again. 

“I wish I got the chance to meet him…..” Willie says and I smile as I let out a small giggle. 

“You would have liked both him and Alex. Alex probably would have had a huge crush on you…” I say and Willie chuckles. 

“You wanna know something crazy?” Willie asks as he sits down next to me on the other swing again, leaning his skateboard against his leg. 

“Sure. I’m always up for crazy. You know that,” I say with a smile his way. 

“Well…. your brother's name was Alex right?” he says and I nod. 

“Yes his name was Alex. Why?” I say and give him a confused look. 

“Well…. you know the guy I met?” Willie asks and I nod. 

“His name is Alex too. Do you think it could be your brother?” Willie asks and I shake my head no. 

“I’ve looked everywhere for him. I don’t think so, Will. My brother died a long time ago. If he was a ghost I think I’d know….” I say and he gives me a sad smile, but for some reason it sticks with me the whole day.

Could it be my brother? No…. It couldn’t be….. could it? No. It’s not possible. After I died I looked everywhere for him and he was nowhere to be found….. it must just be someone with the same name…..

“Well it was worth a try,” Willie says as he gets up again and so do I. 

“Now you tell me something,” I say and smile when Willie does. 

“Ok, what do you wanna know?” Willie asks and I smile. 

“Tell me more about the boy you met,” I say and he smiles. 

“Ok. Well it’s complicated. When we met he told me about his situation-” Willie says and I raise my eyebrows at him. 

“Situation?” I say confusion clearly in my voice. 

“Well you see…. he’s in this band with his other two ghost friends, they thought they couldn’t play music or be heard anymore. But they are like Caleb in a sense, because they met this girl Julie I think is her name… and when they play with her they can be seen… so they made a new band with this Julie….. or at least that’s what he’s told me,” Willie says and I shake my head. 

“How is that even possible? I’ve never in my two decades of being dead heard of anyone like Caleb,” I say and shake my head. 

“I really don’t know either,” Willie says and I nod. 

Just as we finish walking over to the sidewalk I feel my wrist stinging and I roll my eyes. 

“Welp, Willie. This was fun, but it looks like I’m being summoned…” I say and he nods before giving me a hug. 

“I’m going to skateboard for a bit longer. See you later?” Willie asks and I nod. 

“Definitely. I’ll see you at tonight’s show,” I say and he chuckles when he hears my voice change to a tone of indifference. 

“Have fun, Skates!” Willie says as he starts to skateboard off and away from me. 

“Not possible with Caleb!” I shout at him and hear a chuckle come from him as I apparate back to the Hollywood Ghost Club. 

Third person Pov: {2020}                                                                          “Guys, we have a gig!” Julie says as she enters the garage. 

“We do?” Reggie says as she throws her backpack in one of the chairs before coming over to the two boys. 

Julie gives Reggie the flyer that Flynn had given her before. She then goes over and grabs the watering can that’s in the corner. 

As she starts to water the plants, Reggie looks over the flyer in hand. Luke looks over it, but then just goes back to playing with his rings like he had been all day as he leans against the piano. 

Today is a hard day for the boy in the blue jacket, the one that he remembers was one of his girlfriend’s favorite sweatshirts to steal and wear. 

He can’t seem to get her off his mind. He misses her so much, but he’s sure it’s worse for Alex.

As Luke stays against the piano playing with his rings, one in particular that got a memory stirring in the back of his mind, Reggie breaks him out of his little daydream of memories. 

“We’re playing the school dance? Sweet!” Reggie says as he still looks over the flyer that Julie had handed him. 

“It’s not exactly the strip…” Luke says as he now joins in on whatever conversation Reggie and Julie were having beforehand. 

Julie chuckles as she continues to water the plants in the back of the room. 

“And you’re not exactly alive, so maybe you should be happy we have our first gig,” Reggie says as he puts the flyer for the school dance down on the piano. 

Luke, taken aback by Reggie’s somewhat harsh words, kind of moves away from him and gives him a look. 

“I wasn’t in love with the idea at first either, but it could be a great way for us to build a following, right?” Julie says as she waters the plants, but turns back to look at them. 

“Yeah. Yeah. We need to play wherever we can, whenever we can,” Reggie says in a passionate tone. 

“No, you’re right. Let’s rock those kids’ faces off and then play the clubs,” Luke says as he slowly starts to get everything off his mind and focus on music.

“And then record a single that gets a billion streams?” Julie says as she puts the watering can down and strolls up to the piano only to put both her hands on it. 

“I don’t know what that is, but hopefully it gets us a manager and a tour,” Luke says in a passionate tone as he gets pumped now. 

“Then we release a bunch of hit albums!” Julie says as she continues their little vision of the future for their band. 

“Put out a country album that does surprisingly well,” Reggie says and Julie gives him a look. 

“I shred on the banjo, so…..” Reggie then says to clear up her confusion. 

“Then I’ll learn how to fiddle…” Julie says with a smile and Luke shakes his head at her, entertaining Reggie’s country album. 

“And before you know it, we’re being inducted into the rock n’ roll hall of fame,” Luke says as he pushes off the piano and bangs his fists on it to make his word seem stronger. 

“But one of us isn’t there, because we had a blowout in 2032,” Reggie says as he points his fingers up only to put his hands back on the piano soon after. 

“My money’s on Alex,” Reggie says with a shrug as he looks at Julie. 

“Right…” Julie says with a chuckle. 

“He’s just so sensitive…” Reggie says and Julie just shakes her head at him. 

“What are we waiting for? Let’s get rehearsing!” Luke says in an excited tone. 

“Uh…. where’s Alex?” Julie says as she still leans her hands on the piano, but gives a questioning shrug.

“Last I knew he was out with his new ghost friend….” Luke says as he now takes off his jacket. 

“Oh ok….” Julie says as she grabs her piano and sets it up. 

Luke throws his jacket to the side as he and Reggie grab their guitars. Soon the melody of the piano and two guitars float through the air as they each play their instruments in perfect melody. 

“One more time,” Luke says as he nods at them to continue with the melody they have going. 

Both Luke and Reggie play the riffs on their guitars as Julie plays it on her piano. When they come closer to the end, Luke lets his riff ring out a little before the music is completely done. 

Just as the sound of Luke’s riff finishes, Alex walks through the door with a wide grin on his face. 

“Oh! Hey Alex,” Reggie says as he turns to look at him. 

“Where have you been, man? We need to start practicing!” Luke asks before his tone changes to passion as he looks down at his guitar then back up to Alex. 

“Yeah? For what?” Alex asks, confusion clear in his voice as he stands there with his hands in his jacket pockets. 

“Dance news!” Flynn says as she throws her hand up in the air when she comes into the garage. 

“I don’t have a date, but I don’t care because I’m so psyched to see you guys perform,” Flynn says as she comes farther into the garage. 

“Oh man! We’re playing a dance?” Alex says as he looks from Flynn back to the other boys. 

“Of course dude. That’s how we get a following nowadays,” Luke says as he slouches down in the chair that’s behind him. 

“Yeah. Get with the program, Alex,” Julie says playfully as she looks at Luke and rolls her eyes at him. 

“What?! The guys are here?” Flynn says as she throws her hands up, only to drop them back to her side. 

“Hey guys!” Flynn says as she waves in the opposite direction of them. 

“Other way, sweetie,” Julie says with a pained look on her face. 

“Oh….” Flynn says as she lifts her opposite hand and waves the other way now. Alex and Reggie wave back with amused smiles on their faces. 

“Ok, well. Now that Alex has graced us with his presence… Can we start working?” Luke says as he lifts his hand off his guitar to point at Alex before pulling his arm back behind him and around the back of the chair instead. 

“Yes! We’re gonna rehearse. You wanna stick around?” Julie says as she turns from Luke and to Flynn. 

“I’m supposed to blow up 500 balloons for the school dance, but this sounds way better,” Flynn says.

“Hey Julie! Remember those orbs in Dad’s picture?” Julie's little brother Carlos comes running into the garage with a printout of the picture he’s talking about. 

Carlos then walks though Alex and to Julie only to hand her the picture he had been carrying. 

“I… I think they’re ghosts… but don’t worry. This room is…. This room is clean. I’m not getting the ghost tinglies,” Carlos says as he looks around the garage. 

“Wrong again, little dude,” Reggie says as he chuckles with another amused smile on his face. 

“Have no fear. If they come back, I will protect you! Because I am the man of the house,” Carlos says as he points at Julie who shakes her head. 

“Isn’t Dad supposed to be the man of the house?” Julie asks as she crosses her arms at him. 

“There can be two,” Carlos says with arms crossed as he rocks back and forth on his toes. Flynn and Julie just look at each other and chuckle.

“Dad needs all the help he can get, right?” Carlos says with a shrug that makes Julie chuckle some more while shaking her head at her younger brother. 

“Oh!” Carlos says as he uncrosses his arms and pulls out some salt from his pants pocket. 

“According to the Internet, salt burns their souls out…” Carlos says as he opens the salt bottle and holds it up. 

All the boys' smiles immediately fall and they all look at Julie with scared expressions before looking at one another. 

“A little sprinkle will keep them from ever coming in here,” Carlos says as he holds it up in the air, getting ready to sprinkle some around. 

He then flicks some at Reggie who jumps and hugs his guitar closer to him as he lifts his feet up. Then he flicks some at Luke who does the same thing by lifting his feet off the floor. Next he flicks some at Alex who isn’t lucky enough to move as fast as the others. 

“Oh! Oh God, I’m….” Alex says as he bends over and freaks out, thinking his soul will be burnt out. 

“I’m fine!” Alex then announces as he stands up straight again, now that he sees he’s perfectly fine. 

“I’m fine. Totally fine,” Alex says as he puts his hands up.

Julie then nods her head at Flynn and clears her throat, trying to get Flynn to help get Carlos out of the garage. Flynn looks like she’s in a daze before snapping out of it. 

“Oh! Carlos! You know who’s hungry?” Flynn says, getting Carlos’ attention. 

“Me! Um, salt me a path to the kitchen,” Flynn says as she points out the garage doors. 

Carlos gives her a salute, then grabs the picture off of Julie's piano then goes with Flynn out of the garage. 

“Whew, ok….” Alex says as he moves past Reggie and to his drums. 

“Shall we try this again?” Julie questions the three boys. 

“Yes, please. But remind us later there’s some Sunset Curve songs that we want to show you,” Luke says as he gets up from his relaxed posture in the chair he was sitting in. 

“Ohh, show me now,” Julie says as she’s now interested in hearing what they have for her. 

“Yeah. Ok,” Luke says as he does his little hop that he always does before moving to grab his song journal out of his guitar case. 

He picks it up and sees a paper sticking out of it so he looks at it before reading it. 

“Home is where my horse is?!” Luke reads the title out loud. 

“Reggie, stop putting your country songs in my journal!” Luke says as he takes the paper out and puts it in his guitar case. 

“That was a gift…” Reggie says as he walks over to Luke. 

“Thanks, buddy,” Luke says before hitting him in the arm with the journal as he rolls his eyes before strutting over to Julie. 

“You should maybe circle back…” Reggie says as he looks down at his song in Luke’s case. 

“I dog-eared the ones that I think you would slay,” Luke says as he passes the book over to Julie while ignoring Reggie. 

Julie looks though them with a chuckle as her eyes fall on one that seems to be about someone. 

“Who’s Emily?” She questions as she looks up at Luke. 

“That one’s not dog-eared,” Luke says in a freaked out tone as he goes to change the page, but she pulls back only so she can keep reading.

Julie chuckles after reading it and looks up at him with a smile on her face. 

“Wow, Luke. I didn’t know you were such a romantic…” Julie says in a playful tone. 

“He’s not. That one’s actually about-” Alex starts to say, but Luke cuts him off. 

“No one,” Luke says after he slaps Alex lightly before moving his hand to hold the strap of his guitar. 

“Uh, that’s just something that I tried, and….” Luke says, but doesn’t finish the sentence and he just changes the subject. 

“But if you go to the next dog-eared page, I got a tune that’s just….” Luke says as he tries to change the subject, but Julie just gives him a skeptical look before she just turns to the next page that again isn’t dog-eared. 

“Wait no not that one either…” Luke says and again Julie's eyes travel over the paper. 

“New story? Who’s this about?” Julie says as she reads over the lyrics of the song and Luke’s face immediately changes.

“Not a romantic huh? This sounds like a pretty romantic song….” Julie says after she reads a little bit of the song out loud. 

“Oh…. Yeah that one is-” Alex tries to explain again, but Luke just slaps him again to get him quiet. 

“Please just go to the next dog-eared one….” Luke pleads in a sad tone and Julie notices that she’s stepped over the line. 

She flips to the next dog-eared one like Luke asks with a frown on her face before the whole mood of the garage changes again. 

“This one… It’s got a killer beat,” Luke says before he moves so he’s facing her and his guitar is at his front again so he can play the beat of the song for her. 

As he rocks out to the beat on the guitar Alex and Reggie smile and bop their heads to the beat. 

“So you want a sample….” Julie says as she sits back down as Luke stops playing the guitar now and chuckles. 

“What do you mean ‘sample’?” Luke asks with a confused smile on his face, thinking she’s joking. 

“Sample someone else’s music….” Julie says it like it's the most obvious thing in the world. 

“My mom and I used to sing that song at the top of our lungs in the car all the time,” Julie exaggerates.

“It’s a classic Trevor Wilson song,” Julie says as she tells them about a song she’s already heard. 

“Nope! It’s a classic, our song….” Luke says as he leans forward and taps his journal. 

“Pure Sunset Curve. Never even heard of Trevor Wilson,” Reggie says as he shrugs and looks at the other boys. 

“Yeah. Maybe you're mixing it up, you know, with another song,” Alex says as he uses his hand motions before hitting his hip. 

“I don’t mix up songs. Trust me. Me and his daughter used to be best friends....” Julie says as she exaggerates the ‘best friends’ to try and convey her point while rolling her eyes. 

“I used to hang out at their place all the time. I know that song…” Julie says as she keeps the stern tone of her voice to make her point known. 

“Ok…” Alex says as he turns to Luke and gives him a skeptical look, seeing as he doesn’t fully believe her. 

“Here. I’ll prove it,” Julie says as she pulls out her laptop. 

She opens it up and looks something up before turning it to them. 

“His first album had a bunch of hits, but none of his latest stuff is as good,” Julie says as the guys all crowd around her computer. 

After they all see his face, Alex hits Reggie in the stomach as he’s stunned and all the boys’ faces fall. 

“That’s Bobby!” Luke says in an angry tone as he narrows his eyes. 

“Seriously? I just told you his name is Trevor…” Julie says as she rolls her eyes. 

“Ok. Great. Then…. then he changed it, all right? That’s definitely Bobby. He was our rhythm guitarist,” Alex says as he points from the computer then to Luke. 

“Trevor Wilson was in your band?” Julie asks in disbelief.

“I can’t get over how old he looks….” Reggie says in a very confused tone. 

“Oh…. he looks like a substitute teacher,” Alex says in a grossed-out tone. 

“Julie? What were his other hits?” Luke asks in a low tone, scared of hearing her answer. 

“Get lost…” Julie says as she throws a hand up, then slapping her leg before Luke visibly swallows back his anger and his face falls. 

“Yeah. I wrote that…” Luke says as he takes his guitar strap off of his shoulder. 

“Long weekend?” Julie questions as Luke walks off and puts his guitar away. 

“Yeah. Luke wrote that too. It was about a weekend he had with-” Reggie says and is about to explain the song. 

“Reggie don’t-” Luke says, shaking his head, not wanting to hear it. 

“Crooked teeth?” Julie says again, but this time in a more shocked tone as she looks at Alex and Reggie. 

“Yeah. And that. It was about Reggie,” Alex says, explaining the song. 

“What?! I thought it was about you!” Reggie says to Alex in a shocked and hurt tone. 

“I don’t like that song anymore…” Reggie says as Luke goes to grab a dart off the dart board. 

“Wait… this is…. freaking me out. Trevor’s songs are kind of big to me! He’s the one who introduced me to rock,” Julie says as she is in pure shock. 

“Yeah. Luke introduced you to rock…” Alex says with a scoff before he turns and walks away. 

Reggie stays in his place and Luke angrily throws darts at the dart board as Julie tries to process it all. 

“So this whole time, I thought you were connected to my mom,” Julie says, still processing it as Alex sits on the ground and sighs. 

“But instead you're connected to Carrie's Dad?” Julie asks as she keeps thinking through her confusion. Reggie shakes his head at her. 

“Out of all people, it had to be the one girl who had it out for me,” Julie says angrily from behind her piano.  

“All right, well, add it to our list of questions…” Alex says as he looks up at her from the ground. 

“Back when Carrie and I were friends, the three of us used to talk about music all the time,” Julie says in sadness as now her memories have been changed and Luke throws a dart again. 

“He never mentioned you guys,” Julie says in a sad tone. 

“And that’s unbelievable!” Luke says as he throws another dart, then turns to the younger girl. 

“Ok! He can take all the credit and he doesn’t even mention us?!” Luke says, his voice raising as he gets even more mad. 

“And he’s rich… He has his own helicopter...” Julie says and raises an eyebrow.

“Uggh!” Luke screams out as he aggressively throws another dart. 

“He has…? He has a…. a helicopter?” Alex says in a shocked tone as he gets up from the ground. 

“With his face on it…” Julie says in an annoyed tone. 

“And he parks it in front of that hotel?” Reggie says in full shock. 

“No. He gets to park it in front of his mansion!” Julie says in a pointed tone. 

“Mansion?!” Reggie says, even more shocked than before. 

“Dude, we live in a garage!” Alex whines. 

“It’s not about the money. It’s about the music!” Luke reminds them in a frustrated tone. 

“It’s a little bit about the money, though!” Reggie says as he looks at Luke. 

“A little bit about the money,” Alex echoes as he turns to Luke and does the little motion with his fingers. 

“He could have shared it with our families! Maybe then my parents wouldn’t have had their home turned into a bike shack,” Reggie says, now more sad about the fact that his family had to suffer after he died and Alex smacks him. 

No matter how bad it was at home, even if his parents were fighting, they still all loved each other…

“Dude, he could have given it to y/n….” Alex says as he just stares off in the distance. 

“Hey Jules,” Alex says as he looks up at her. 

“What, Alex?” Julie asks as she looks at him. 

“Can you look up my sister? See what happened to her?” Alex asks and Luke just looks at him. Tears start to brim his eyes as well as Alex’s. 

“Lex? Are you sure we wanna know that?” Luke asks as all his anger melts away at just the mention of her name. 

“Yeah. At least I know I’m ready. Are you?” Alex asks Luke, who just nods. 

“Ok. So what’s her name?” Julie asks as she gets ready to type it in.  

“Umm Uh…. Y/N Mercer,” Alex says as he gulps, scared to hear what will come of the search. 

Julie searches her name and finds what she believes is an article about the girl. 

“Ok. Well here’s an article about her… oh, wait…” she looks up at the boys with tears brimming her eyes for the girl she didn’t know. 

“Jules? What is it?” Luke says with his voice hoarse from trying to keep his emotions in. 

“It’s ahh… it’s a form of an obituary from the year 1996....” Julie says and the boys' faces fall. 

“That’s a year after we passed…..” Reggie says with a gulp before he goes quiet. 

“Would you like to read it?” Julie asks and the three boys nod before crowding around her computer that she had turned towards them. 

December 20th 1996

   Emily and Mitch Patterson have lost another life. Y/N Mercer, the young girl who was dating their son, has sadly passed away on the 15th of this December. After losing their son the previous year at the same time, they decided to take her in when her father kicked her out of her home after her brother’s death. 

   Sadly we have news that the Patterson’s didn’t only lose her, but a baby as well. According to a source {band member Bobby} says they didn't keep in touch, but he’s very sad to hear about her death. He says he did in fact know she was pregnant, but does not have any clue how she lost the baby. 

   He then said it didn’t really surprise him that she did lose said baby with the way she always was ‘careless’, much like her said boyfriend. Other sources say that she was happy and alive until her boyfriend and brother passed away from consuming some contaminated hot dogs. Some say she became depressed after losing them and her father wanted nothing to do with her, but at this time all we can say is there will be a funeral. 

   So if you loved her please talk to Emily and Mitch to learn when the funeral will be held. 

After they read the article, Luke is fuming even more than he was before. ‘How dare he talk about her like that?’ Luke thinks. 

“I so wish he would have taken care of her now. Wait, Luke did you know?” Alex asks as he looks at Luke and all Luke can do is shake his head no as tears fill his eyes. 

“It doesn’t matter about the money. What he did is steal our legacy, boys…with our legacy alone we could have paid for them by ourselves…..” Luke says in a choked voice as he looks at the boys for a minute before turning to Julie. 

“Where does he live?” Luke asks Julie in a broken tone with a clenched jaw. This was all getting to just be too much for him. 

First he finds out his legacy was taken, then he finds out Bobby had talked badly about his woman after she had died. Then he finds out he was a father, no this was getting to all be too much. Even so, Bobby had no right to say anything or do anything that he did….

Julie stays quiet for a moment, just thinking over if she should tell him or not before she decides to. 

“Above the beach in Malibu….” Julie says as she looks up at the three boys. 

Luke then uses his shoulder to bump Alex before he moves to get his jacket. 

“Let’s go teach him a lesson,” Luke says as he stands up from getting his jacket. 

“Wait! What? Guys! We have to rehearse for the dance. This is our first gig!” Julie yells as she stands up from her electronic piano. 

“Nobody disrespects Y/N….” Luke says before all the boys apparate out. 

Julie sighs, then Flynn walks in clapping. 

“Ok, boys! Break time’s over, ok? Get to playing! Mama needs her eye candy….” Flynn says in a flirty tone. 

“They’re gone. I think I just unleashed three angry ghosts on the world,” Julie says as she looks down, then back up to Flynn. 

“But I think I know where they're going…” Julie says with a nod to Flynn. 

“Come on…” Julie says as she moves towards the doors of the garage. 

The boys appear in the fancy mansion and start to walk around the place, gawking at all of Bobby’s belongings. 

Luke looks at all the stuff hanging on his walls. First he looks at a guitar that’s hung up in a case on the wall. He then looks over and walks over to the records he sees on the wall. 

“Bobby’s house is ridiculous!” Alex says as he looks at some of the other records on the walls as well. 

“Have you seen these platinum records?!” Alex says in awe as he points to one of them. 

“Platinum?” Reggie says in a shocked voice as well. 

“He recorded ‘My Name is Luke!’ Luke shouts furiously. 

“MY NAME IS LUKE!!” Luke yells again, pointing to himself to make his point. 

That’s when Trevor {or Bobby whatever you wanna call him} opens the front door and struts in, making all the boys look at him as he walks past them. 

“It’s him!” Reggie says as he points at him. Luke and Alex rush over to the bottom of the stairs where Reggie and Bobby stand. 

“Hey, Carrie. I’m gonna meditate!” Trevor yells out to wherever his daughter is. 

“He wears sunglasses indoors,” Reggie says, shocked as he points at him with his whole hand. 

“I’m in the den!” Carrie calls out so her father knows where she is. 

“Cool!” Trevor/Bobby says before he walks up the stairs. 

“I can’t stand him,” Reggie says with a shrug. 

“Time for his past to haunt him…” Luke says and starts to head up the stairs. 

“Yep,” Reggie says as he follows Luke. 

“Wait!” Alex shouts out, causing the two boys on the stairs to stop and turn around to look at him. 

“Let’s not rush this. You know? It’s my…. It’s my first time haunting someone…” Alex says, making Luke and Reggie look at him with raised eyebrows as he takes in a deep breath. 

“I wanna make it special,” Alex then adds on while putting his hands on his hips. 

Once again, both Luke and Reggie just give him a ‘really’ face again as they just look at each other, then to him in silence. 

“Ok Alex…” Luke says as he rolls his eyes and turns as he heads back up the stairs. 

“That was weird…. ok….” Alex says as he throws his head to the side before he follows the other two boys. 

The boys walk around in the second half of the house for a while, just still gawking at all of the fortunes that Bobby now has until they hear light music coming from a room two feet from them. 

“Looks like we found him, boys….” Luke says as he smirks before they all walk over to the door and just walk right through it. 

Once in the room, they watch Bobby sit down on a footstool and cross his legs. 

“Let’s have some fun, boys….” Luke says as he rubs his hands together before walking over right next to Bobby. He watches him for a minute as he seems to be in peace as he says ‘ohm….’ over and over again. 

“Guys watch this….” Luke says as he puts his finger in his mouth then straight into Bobby’s ear, efficiently giving Bobby a wet willie. 

Bobby makes a grossed-out sound and his hand automatically flies up to his ear to rub it. After messing with his ear for a moment, he’s at first confused, but eventually just shrugs it off and goes back to his meditation. 

“Hey, how about this?!” Reggie says and he goes over to the candles only to blow them all out. 

Bobby looks up with a confused look when the candles go out. 

“Hey check this out guys….” Alex says and he presses a button on the stereo that changes the nice calm music to rock music. 

Bobby looks over confused and only slightly scared, but again he just brushes it off. He stands up from his position on the footstool and walks over to the stereo. 

He turns off the stereo completely, but as he starts to walk back to the footstool Alex decides to click it back on again. Bobby then comes back over and pulls the cord out this time. 

“Hey, guys wanna see a cool trick?” Alex asks, making both Luke and Reggie nod. 

“Follow me then,” Alex says as he walks towards the bathroom.

When in the bathroom, Alex focuses all his energy on turning the shower’s knob just like Willie had taught him on their outing to the art museum. He turns the knob that makes the water hot until steam starts to cloud the bathroom. 

Bobby, who had just turned off the radio, turns around when he hears a squeaking metal sound before water starts to run. 

“Carrie?” Bobby questions as he walks to the bathroom. 

He walks into the bathroom and peeks around the corner before fully walking in. As he walks up to the glass, he taps on it as a warning then stops to see if he hears anyone. 

When he doesn’t hear anyone he continues to walk into the open shower, only to find nobody there. Bobby then turns it off and looks at the faucet, confused for a minute as the water slows to a stop. 

Reggie, Luke and Alex double over in laughter as Bobby gets more and more freaked out. 

“Oh! Watch this!” Luke says as he walks over to the mirror and starts to write on it with his finger. 

Bobby walks out of the shower and now sees ‘Hello Bobby’ being written on the mirror. As Bobby slowly realizes what’s going on, the three boys laugh again. 

“Oh! Come on!” Alex says before he runs out of the bathroom with Luke and Reggie right behind him. 

Alex closes the door very quietly again, using all of his energy like Willie had taught him, to hold Bobby in the bathroom. After Bobby snaps out of his frozen state he runs over to the door, scared out of his mind. 

He runs into the door then kinda stumbles for a minute before he tries to pull the door open, but can’t get it open seeing as Alex is out on the other side holding it closed. 

“Let….! Me….! Out…..!” Bobby yells as he continues to pull on the door to try and get out of the bathroom. 

“I got it…”Alex says with a strained voice as he continues to hold the door closed. Reggie and Luke stand behind Alex, watching and laughing as Bobby freaks out on the other side.

Alex finally lets go, only to throw himself back towards Luke and Reggie who catch him before he can fall. Bobby comes bursting out of the bathroom with fear written on his face as the other three just continue to laugh at Bobby’s fear. 

“Shh, shh, shh,” Alex says as he pats Luke in the chest, but Reggie continues to laugh as Bobby lets out a shudder and then he starts to run away. 

“Hooo!” Reggie says as Luke puts his hands out for low fives from Reggie and Alex while they all smile proudly at what they have accomplished. 

After a minute of enjoying their prank, they follow Bobby again. 

“No, no, no, no, no….” Bobby says as he runs down the stairs, grabbing his glasses from his head. 

“Trevor, nothing Dr. Crystal can’t handle,” Bobby continues to talk to himself and it only makes the three boys who were messing with him laugh harder. They stop at the bottom of the stairs while the boys double over in laughter. 

“I’m going to see my therapist, ok? Ok….” Bobby says as he rushes past his daughter who’s sitting on the couch with her current boyfriend, Nick. 

“Oh my God…” Carrie says as she rolls her eyes as her Dad rushes out the back door. 

“Guys let’s go follow him again,” Reggie says before they all apparate out of the house and to the outside. 

Once outside they hear a loud sound go over their heads that makes them follow the sound and turn around to watch a helicopter fly away. 

“Quick! Let’s moon him before he gets too far away!” Reggie says and Luke sticks his tongue out with a smirk as they turn around, messing with their pants. 

“He can’t see us,” Alex says with his hands in his pockets as he puts his arms out as far as he can with his hands in the pockets. 

“Oh, it’s not for him, bro. It’s for us. For Y/n….” Luke says as he and Reggie bend down now with their pants down.

As Reggie and Luke are already bent down with their butts on show, Alex shakes his head only to pull his pants down along with them and bend over, showing his butt as well. 

“Whew! Take that, Bobby!!” Luke says as the boys continue to wiggle their butts at Bobby even if he can’t see and Alex just laughs. 

Just as they are standing up and pulling their pants back up, Julie walks out. 

“So, did you guys have fun in there?” Julie asks as they all finally have their pants back up. 

“Ok, you’d do the exact same thing if he stole all your songs….” Luke says as he buttons and zips up his pants. 

“And if he talked about your sister the way he did….” Alex mumbles out in a sad tone. Luke pats his shoulder and he just gives him a painful, but thankful smile. 

“But you have new songs. With me,” Julie says in an upset tone and the boys just give her a guilty look. 

“The best way to get back at Trevor is for this band to do great. And to do great we have to play at dances, then clubs,” Julie says in a serious tone as she gives a lot of hand motions. 

“And tours. I know,” Luke says as he walks towards Julie with his hands out before letting them fall at his side. 

“Then when we get big you can also get him back for what he said about y/n. I’ll see you guys at the school,” Julie says in a pointed tone as she hopes it’ll ingrain it into their brains. 

“We go on at nine. Please don’t be late, there’s gonna be a lot of people there,” Julie says with her voice full of desperation. 

“We got it, all right? Don’t worry,” Alex says in a sorta harsh tone, but he tries to change it by easing her worry. Julie sighs only to walk away and back inside to get Flynn. 

“I don’t care what Julie says. I’m glad we scared Bobby,” Reggie says, making the other two boys turn to him. 

“Wish we’d done more, like…. like written “thief” on his forehead,” Reggie says with a chuckle as he turns to Alex and motions to his forehead. 

“And, Alex, how did you shut the door? You could barely open a garage door…” Luke says as he motions with his right hand back to the house. 

“Learned that from your new friend Willie, didn’t ya?” Reggie says and Alex shrugs. 

“Yeah. Well, he taught me some things, and we screamed in a museum,” Alex says in a dreamy tone as Luke and Reggie just give him questioning looks, but with smiles. 

“It’s a long story…” Alex says as now he snaps back to reality, realizing what he said and how he said it. 

“You think he has a few more tricks up his sleeve?” Luke asks with a smirk on his face. 

“Let’s find out….” Alex says with a shrug before they all apparate to where Alex believes Willie would be after talking to him in the museum the last time they saw each other. 

“Hup hope ahhh!” Willie says as he now skateboards by the beach after Y/N had left. 

“Hey! Good day, officers,” Willie says as he skateboards past a couple of officers giving a ticket to some kids with boards in their hands. 

“H-H-hey!” Willie says as he sees Alex, making him skateboard up to the three boys that just appeared in front of him. 

“What’s up, man? You brought friends,” Willie says as he does a handshake with Alex. 

“Yeah. These are my bandmates, uh, Luke and Reggie,” Alex says as he turns to look at the two boys standing next to him as he points to who’s who. 

“Hey. Cool, I’m Willie,” Willie says as he picks up his board before he gives them all side fist bumps. 

“So… you guys here to learn some ‘tricks’?” Willie asks before he puts his hands up and wiggles his fingers at them before moving them to the cops who are still giving tickets. 

After waving his hand over at the officers, the officers’ ATV sirens go off and Willie smiles as the officers look around. The skateboarders that the officers were giving the tickets to now skateboard away seeing as now the officers attention is somewhere else. 

Willie now stops the sirens and the officers now start to look for the skateboarders, but they don’t find them. 

“Do it again! Do it again!” Reggie says like a child on Christmas Day as he slaps Luke in the chest. 

“Actually, we were thinking a little bigger,” Luke says as he now slaps Reggie to get him to stop slapping him as he stares off at the officers. 

“An old band mate stole from us and said something really bad about someone we all cared about. We wanna confront him face to face,” Luke says as he turns back to look at Willie. 

“All right. Is this, uh, old friend of yours a lifer?” Willie asks as he looks between all three of the boys in front of him. 

“Oh, that’s fancy ghost lingo for the living,” Alex says as he turns to Luke and Reggie with a cocky look on his face. 

“A little something I picked up,” Alex then says in a whisper as he leans towards Reggie. 

“Ahh! Then, yeah! He’s a lifer,” Reggie says, trying to be cool. 

“Too much of a fancy-pants for street dogs,” Reggie says as he crosses his arms. 

“Yeah, I’m sorry. Speaking to lifers is even out of my league,” Willie says and the other boys’ faces fall and Luke looks off into the distance. 

For a moment Willie catches Luke’s face change from one of anger to sadness as he looks out over the beach. 

“Hey, man. You ok?” Willie says and Luke snaps out of it. 

“Yeah. Uhh, I just realized what beach we are at is all,” Luke says as he looks back to Willie. 

“Oh. You like this beach. Yeah, in my friend’s and my opinion, this beach is the best one. Actually it’s funny. If you had come just a little bit earlier you coulda met her. She’s super sweet,” Willie says and Luke just nods now with a solemn look on his face. 

“Anyway. You know, there is one ghost who might be able to help you guys…” Willie now says as he sees the look on Luke’s face, all Willie wants to do is help. 

“He’s kind of a big deal,” Willie says with a semi-shrug and as soon as he says that, Luke’s whole body language changes again from sad to almost ambitious.

‘He reminds me of someone…’ Willie thinks before Luke speaks again. 

“Literally, anything would help,” Luke says in a more excited tone. 

“Oh, all right. Well, Um, I gotta go take care of some things and talk to a friend. But I’ll meet you where Alex and I met. Eight o’clock,” Willie says and Luke nods at him. 

“See ya,” Willie says before he turns the other way and skates off from them. 

The boys then pat each other on the backs before they all look at one another. 

“Wanna go home?” Alex asks as he crosses his arms over his chest. 

“Nahh, I think I’m gonna walk the beach a little. Ya know, relive some old memories….” Luke says as he looks over all the kids and everyone playing on the sand or in the water. 

“Maybe, I’ll join you if that’s ok?” Alex says as he looks to Luke. 

“Yeah. Sure man,” Luke says before he starts to walk down the pier. 

“Ok. I’m going home then! I’ll see you guys later!” Reggie shouts and both the other boys wave over their shoulders. 

Luke and Alex walk the pier and beach for almost five hours, just reminiscing on memories before they realize what time it is. 

“Oh. Luke it’s 7:30. I think we should head home and get Reggie now…” Alex says as Luke looks off into the distance. 

“Yeah. Let’s do that….” Luke says as he pats Alex on the shoulder, but still doesn’t go to move. 

“Luke are you ok?” Alex says as he sets a hand on the other boy's shoulder. 

“No. I’m not, dude. Not at all,” Luke says and Alex looks up to see a playground. 

“Oh… Luke I know. I promise you can come back later, but for right now we really have to go,” Alex says and Luke nods as he wipes his tears before looking at Alex. 

“Ok. Let’s go….” Luke says in a quiet tone before they apparate away from the beach that has so many memories for them. 

They end up picking up Reggie only to soon apparate to the Hollywood walk of fame on Hollywood boulevard vine street. The three boys look around for a moment before Alex spots Willie walking towards them. 

“Hey guys. Ready to go?” Willie says as he walks up to be right next to Alex. 

“Yeah. I think we’re ready. Let’s go,” Alex says as he looks to the other two for confirmation. 

The other two boys nod and before they know it Willie apperates them to a hotel which they soon find themselves being led into. 

Willie then leads them down a long hall that opens up to what looks like a ballroom at the end. 

“Right this way….” Willie says as he leads them into said room. 

All three boys look around in astonishment as they enter the room. 

“Whoa. So this is where your hot shot ghost lives? Huh?” Luke says as he continues to look around the ballroom where he can now see people having all kinds of fun. 

“Yeah. We’ve walked past this hotel, like, a million times. How come we’ve never heard of it?” Alex says as they all look to Willie. 

“That’s because this area has been sealed off for decades. I mean you wouldn’t even know this place exists unless you’re invited,” Willie says with a grin on his face as he watches them all smile. 

“All right. I gotta go make sure everything’s cool, but I’ll be right back,” Willie says as he points to them before he turns away and leaves. 

It’s quite a minute and all three boys take a moment to look around at their surroundings. 

“Hollywood Ghost Club?” Reggie says as the three boys turn from where they are only to walk to the banister that’s there next to them. 

“This place is creepy…” Reggie says as they all are now leaning against the banister. 

“Yeah, well, so are we,” Alex says as he looks to Reggie with a straight face before turning back to look at all the people below them just having a good old time.

Why It Worked: The Princess and The Frog

Introduction: The Princess and The Frog is an animated musical fantasy romantic comedy film. Directed by John Musker and Ron Clements, the film stars Anika Noni Rose, Bruno Campos, Keith David, Michael-Leon Wooley, Jim Cummings, Jennifer Lewis, Jennifer Cody, John Goodman, Oprah Winfrey and Terrence Howard. The film was released on December 11, 2009 and recieved very positive reviews from critics and audiences (85% of 200 reviews agregated by Rotten Tomatoes gave an average rating of 7.4/10). The film grossed $269 million on a budget of $105 million. For the past decade, I've grown to love this movie more and more with each passing year. Having rewatched it recently, I now firmly believe this is one of Disney's best films. In this post, I'd like to go into detail as to why.

The Plot: Based on the classic Brothers Grimm fairy tale, The Frog Prince, mixed with the material in The Frog Princess by E.D. Maker, this film tells the story of Tiana, a waitress trying to earn enough money to start her own restaurtant. She encounters a talking frog, who's actually Prince Naveen turned into a frog by Dr. Facilier. He agrees to help Tiana get her her restaurant if she helps him turn back into a prince by recreating the classic tale of The Frog Prince. This backfires and now they're both frogs hopping around the buyou with their gator friend, Louis and a cajun firefly named Ray, to find a way to reverse the spell they were put under. The film is really a subversion of classic fairy tale tropes that makes the film feel fresh and new. The goal for our leading lady is not to fall in love with a prince but to make her childhood dream come true. What also makes this film standout is how magical they make New Orleans, paying tributes to jazz music and cajun cuisine. I also found the humor to be very funny, with many of the jokes getting a great laugh out of me. One of the funniest scenes in the film is when Tiana and Naveen outwit a trio of frog hunters. The slapstick and perfect timing had me in stitches. What really makes the story so engaging is the animation. It's too bad Disney hasn't used 2D animation in their recent films (not to say they don't look amazing in 3D) because the animation in the Princess and The Frog is amazing. The character movements feel so smooth and fluid and they're designs are unique and well defined. It should also be noted that some 3D was used for background elements yet are coated with a 2D paint so well you never would've noticed.

Cast and Characters: The cast of this movie did outstanding jobs voicing these characters, who are all well developed and very likable. Starting with our leading lady, Tiana is a smart hardworking woman that's determined to start up her restaurant. She's also sassy, funny and a great cook. Anika Noni Rose was perfect as Tiana as gives the character a very determined and no-nonsense tone in her voice. Prince Naveen starts off as an arrogant playboy that only wants to live a carefree life. However, the more time he spends with Tiana, the more he realizes that not everything is just going to be handed to him. This is especially true during the scene when he and Tiana are making gumbo and he comes to realize he's so used to having everything be done for him that he doesn't even know how to take care of himself. Bruno Campos gave a very stellar performance as Naveen, giving him such charm and funny lines while also selling the more personal aspects of his character. Louis the gator is such a fun comic relief that plays a mean trumpet. He easily brings out some of the best laughs and Michael-Leon Wooley gave a very memorable performance as the character. Ray the cajun firefly just might be one of Jim Cummings' best vocal performances, up there with Darkwing Duck, Pete, and (of course) Winnie The Pooh and Tigger. Ray might appear to have a screw or too loose, but he's actually a really smart, brave and reliable ally who's more than willing to help his friends. His love for Evangeline (which is actually the North Star) feels very genuine even if it might come across as odd at first. Then there's the film's made baddie, Dr. Facilier (often referred to as The Shadow Man). Dr. Facilier is every bit as charming as he is sinister. He's manipulative, he's smart, he's charsmatic and he loves what he does. Keith David was excellent in the role, giving him a deep yet unsettling tone in his voice.

Super Supporting Players: This film has one of the strongest supporting cast I have ever seen. Each of the supporting and even minor characters leave a lasting impression and make the film feel lived in. Lawrence, Naveen's butler, acts as the secondary antagonist of the film, being the catalyst of Naveen's desire for a carefree lifestyle. He sides with the Shadow Man and poses as Naveen while the prince is a frog in order to marry Charlotte La Bouff. Speaking of Charlotte, is very much nothing like the standard spoiled brat. Rather than be snobbish, selfish and rude, Lottie is a true friend to Tiana and is willing to help her get her restaurant. Believe me folks, after having to deal with the likes of Gem Stone, Princess Morbucks, Sincerity (What About Mimi), and Tricia Holmes (6teen), Charlotte is a breath of fresh air. Her father, Eli (aka Big Daddy) is also a very kind and caring figure who, despite spoiling his daughter, clearly raised her well as she gets her generosity from him. Mama Odie is a wise 197 year old blind lady that not only helps our heroes on their journey, but helps them understand the difference between what they want vs what they need. This is echoed by Eudora (Tiana's Mom) earlier in the film, who even in the limited amount of screen time she had exerts such a motherly personality and has authentic chemistry with her daughter. Then there's James (Tiana's Dad), the main driving force behind Tiana's desire to open her restaurant. Despite succumbing to the frequently used "dead parent" trope, every second he's on screen is imperative to the story. He's a kind hard working man who dreamed of opening his own restaurtant with his daughter Tiana. When she tells her Dad about the wishing star, he gives her great advice: "that little star can only take you part of the way. You got to help it along with some hard work of your own and then you can do anything you set your mind to." What truly makes this supporting cast come alive are the stupendous voice work from the actors who portrayed them. Jennifer Cody was fantastic as Lottie, making her sound so energetic and lively. John Goodman is always a treat to hear and he brings such a humble fatherly presence to Eli. Jennifer Lewis perfectly captures the sass and erratic nature of Mama Odie and is an amazing singer. Peter Bartlett right captured the bumbling mannerisms of Lawrence and when he's disguised as Naveen he exerts more confidence in his voice. Oprah Winfrey, who was also a consultant for the film, played Eudora beautifully as a kind and caring mother and they couldn't have picked a better actor than Terence Howard for the role of James.

Songs and Music: Randy Newman is a musical genius! Every single song in this film is written wonderfully with an awesome beat, wonderful lyrics and the amazing vocal talents of the stars. Starting with the opening track after the lovely melody prologue, Down in New Orleans perfectly introduces the audience to this city and what it's like to live here. The late Dr. John brought such authenticity to the song being a New Orleans native and he had great singing chops. Almost There, Tiana's number, is not so much an I want song, but more like "I'm so close I can almost taste it." Anika Noni Rose has great singing talents and carried that long final note like a champ. The villain song, Friends From The Other Side is (in my opinion) one of the best Disney villain songs. It perfectly captures the charismatic and manipulative nature if Dr. Facilier and Keith David's baritone singing makes this all the more memorable. When We're Human is an upbeat song that showcases the excellent singing talents of Anika Noni Rose, Bruno Campos and Michael-Leon Wooley as they sing about what they'll do when they're human. It also makes great use of the trumpet, the go-to instrument for jazz. Ray is given the distinct honor of singing 2 songs, which are polar opposites yet are both wonderfully well crafted musical numbers. The first is Gonna Take You There, which is a classic cajun song in with Ray sings while he and his firefly family take our heroes to Mama Odie's. It's bounce, it's fun, it's makes great use of the accordion, it's just a great song to listen to. The second is Ma Belle Evangeline, a slow yet beautiful love ballad Ray sings for Evangeline. Even though Ray is singing to a star, it feels very genuine with his mix of French compliments and Louis' slow trumpet playing. Than there's the last musical number before the reprise of the opening track, Dig A Little Deeper. This is my personal favorite song in the film, and that's saying something because they're all great. Dig A Little Deeper incorporates a choir of roseate spoonbills to make it look like a church service on Sunday. It also has a great message behind it about finding what you need versus trying to get what you want. Also, Anika Noni Rose coming in with that extra verse was the perfect cherry on top. In addition to these spectacular musical numbers, Randy Newman also made a very memorable score incorporating strings and strong brass for intense scenes and some soft, subtle tunes for the quiet moments. Where the score truly shines is during Ray's death and funeral. From the sad reprise of Ma Belle Evangeline all the way up to the music slowy but surely picking up as Ray essentially becomes the brightness star in the sky next to Evangeline, this scene best showcases what a great score this film has. The song that plays during the credits, Never Knew I Needed by Ne-Yo, was also the picture bookend to the film, capturing the film's central message in a wonderfully crafted pop ballad with a beautiful piano tune.

Where It Falters: 👆. No, seriously this film is still a 10/10 in my book, but I personally would've amended this response from Lottie to "Travis, when I said later, I really meant not ever." Still shoots the guy down but without making her speak for all women. This concludes my meaningless nitpick.

Conclusion: The Princess and The Frog is without a doubt one of Disney's best films and Tiana is my personal favorite Disney Princess. The animation is spectacular, the characters are great, the songs are all wonderful, the voice acting is superb and it delivers a great message of finding what you need versus trying to get what you want. If you haven't seen this film, I highly recommend giving this film a watch on Disney+ if you have it. Thank you so much for reading and I'll see you soon ;)

Alyssa: Mertle from Lilo and Stitch- jealous bitch energy.

Azah: Violet Parr from The Incredibles- she can be moody at times and tends to make herself invisible. But given the opportunity, she could really prove herself.

Brent: Ercole Visconti from Luca- A loud punk ass Italian man with an ego bigger than his forehead. Thinks everyone loves him but everyone hates him. Little bitch who gets what he deserves in the end.

Britini: Peach from Finding Nemo- Today’s the day! The sun is shining! The tank is clean! GASP THE TANK IS CLEAN! yeah basically big Peach energy.

Frenchie: Governor Ratcliffe from Pocahontas- I think this one is pretty self explanatory.

Hannah: Esmeralda from The Huntchback of Norte Dame- Wise beyond her years and understands what she needs to do. Also dressed to impressed at all times. Baddest bitch alive.

Kyland: Powerline from A Goofy Movie- IF WE LISTEN TO EACH OTHERS HEARTS WE’LL FIND WERE NEVER TOO FAR APART. He just radiates cool energy to me.

Sarah Beth: Tinkerbell from Peter Pan- Oh she’s cute? Yeah but she also is actively trying to kill Wendy. Literally tries to have her drowned and shot from the sky. Something’s off with this one.

Tiffany: Mama Odie from The Princess and The Frog- Listen sometimes you don’t know what this women is up to but you know it’ll be good. She’s makes the whole house sing and dance. She’s got a pet snake, and above all, SHES THE BEST CHARACTER IN THE CAST! Iconic.

Travis: HeiHei from Moana- He’s just…he was there I guess.

Whitney: Miss Piggy from The Muppets- Girl Kermit doesn’t want you! Leave him be! Jfc get a fucking clue.

Xavier: Cobra Bubbles from Lilo and Stitch- This man basically undercover. He wants what’s best for the family. He’s smart, but empathetic. He’s looking out for the girl. Also you can’t tell me this man wouldn’t look good in a black suit. WHEW.

I am Gabriella Maldonia daughter of Tiana and Naveen I am from New Orleans but I'm moving to riverdale my parents says it's a place where I get to know people like me princess and prince daughters and sons of stories that could be and can be told I got accepted in to it my family is moving there I'm happy that I got accepted It's the last week in New Orleans and we had parties but it's not like that don't happens every week but then it the time came and we had to leave New Orleans my mama and daddy supported me in every way

Then we got settled in and then it came to the first day at school and I went to my first class I walked in and everyone looked at me I was the shy but when people get to know me I'm not as shy as they think I am stubborn my daddy always said it was something I got from my mom

"Ms. Maldonia I have been expecting you come on in " I said then I shyly walked up to him

"Shy type huh?" He said and I nodded a little

"Well can you go sit next to sweet pea " then he pointed and I looked at him he was handsome really really handsome but I went and sat next to him

"Hi I'm sweet pea son of jasmine and Aladdin who are you the daughter of?" He asked and I just looked at him

"Oh so your that shy huh?" He asked and I shrugged

"Oh don't worry I'll get past that " and then I smiled at him and he smiled back at me then we payed attention to class

And then it was lunch and I was at my locker and was getting my lunch that I packed and I shut my locker and I saw sweet pea standing right there and made me jump a little and made him chuckle

"Sorry i didn't mean to scare you I was going to ask if you wanted to sit with me and my friends at the lounge!?" He asked and I nodded my head

"Ok follow me!" He said and I followed him in to the lounge and we stood in front of his friends

"Guys this is - well I don't know exactly what her name is but she's new to school " sweet pea said

"Oh new friends wonderful " a dark haired girl said and smiled and sweet pea sat down and I sat down next to him

"So new girl whose your parents?" A tanned boy asked and everyone looked at me

"T-Tiana and naveen " i said softly

"Oh so you do talk?" Sweet pea asked and I chuckled a little

"I'm shy I had to be at least 40 minutes within school to talk to someone " and I shrugged

"So who are all of you?" I asked

"Im jughead son of Ariel and Eric "

"I'm Betty daughter of Goldie locks"

"Veronica daughter of Snow White"

"Cheryl daughter of Merida "

" Archie son of Hercules "

"Fangs son of tinker bell"

"Toni daughter of Moana "

" Reggie son of mulan"

"Kevin son of belle "

"And you already know me" then I smiled and they all smiled back at me

"So don't mind me by asking what's your family's story I mean we all know eachother's mine is my father was the son of a god but he found love and ended up having me what's yours?" Archie asked

"Long or short version?" I asked and everyone said in unison "long "

"We'll have you all heard the frog prince?" I asked and they all nodded

"We'll see that kinda sent my mom on a path my mom once said when she was younger and I quote I will never never ever ever kiss a frog yuck! Boy was she wrong see my mom was never a princess growing up she lived in a beautiful neighborhood where they loved my grandfather cooking Especially his gumbo my mom and him always cooked and which set her on a path for her dream , cooking and starting her own place and she said she would name it Tiana's place but sadly my grandfather didn't live to see it because he died in world war 1 "

"Go on I'm getting interested in this story!" Betty said and I smiled

"Well my momma promised him that she would live her dream but one day she was able to get a place it had some work to do from what she told me but it was hers but then she found out she lost it while all that was happening my father came to town aka New Orleans and yes I was born and raised there anyway my father had a problem of his own he WAS a prince but he lost my grandparents kicked him out and he was broke also he really didn't know how to do anything himself. but then he meant someone he called him self the shadow man because of his power from his necklace but my father had someone with him Lawrence see the shadow man was a bad man he took the blood of my father and put it in that necklace of his and was able to turn Lawrence in to my father so he would be the prince and he turned my father in to... well a frog" and then Reggie almost chocked on his drink and everyone eyes widened

"FINALLY SOMEONE WHO PARENT TURNED IN TO AN ANIMAL " Cheryl screamed and my eyes widened

"Wait what did your parent turn in to ?" I asked Cheryl

"Oh technically my grandma and my uncles they turned in to bears "

"Huh!? We should hang out more often " and she smiled and I smiled back

"Anyway do y'all wanna keep on hearing this story? Or y'all getting tired of it ?" I asked

"No please go on!" Archie said while eating

"Well then after that there was a party for my godmother Charlotte who was my mom bestfriend and still is also who was supposed to meet the prince see she believed in love and wanted her fairy tale dream come true while at the time my mom didn't think she needed a man to make her dreams come true later that night that Charlotte meant the prince my mom found out she lost the place where she was going to have her place at and she ended up falling in to the table and Charlotte went to help her out and she put on a beautiful dress while Charlotte went back to the fake prince my mother went outside on the balcony and wished apon a wishing star and all of a sudden a frog appeared next to her that frog was my father he caught her off Guard when he said hi to her see my father thought like the frog prince he would be able to kiss a princess and turn back in to a human he told my mom the plan she hesitated at first but kissed him anyway plot twist she turned in to a frog as well and when that happened they ended up in the bayou and meant a alligator who wanted to play music and play jazz"

"See i believe that he became a frog because we have someone hear who went threw the similar type a problem but a alligator who wanted to play jazz come on now?!" Sweet pea said

"Oh really?! Ok " I said then got my phone and played a video of me and my family friend Louis who always been family to me and he looked at me shocked and I showed everyone and they were shocked to

"See told you Louis Surely know how to play jazz " and I smiled

"Ok frog girl please continue!" Reggie said

"You would be surprised how much I was called that back home but please my name is Gabriella but my friends call me bri or Ella " and then they all smiled

"So what happened next they meant a fly named ray and he lead them to mama odie she was how a put this a voodoo priestess she is really powerful for a very very very old lady she might be very old but she surely knows how to party" then I giggled a little

"Come on how old can she be to be very very old?" Jughead asked then I cleared my throat

"She is 223 years old" and Veronica dropped her fork her eyes widened

"Excuse me did you just say 223?!" Toni asked and I nodded

"Yep but anyway she gave my mother and father advice and told them they had until midnight they found out my father had to kiss Charlotte yeah I know a lot of twist and turns but then my mother taught him that he could do stuff by him self with no help and found out he was in love with my mother and tried to tell her but then got locked up in a box by the shadow man and then my mother found out she was in love with Him when that happened she went to the Mardi Gras but then thought she saw my father but it was actually Lawrence and on top of that she thought that she saw him human and with her bestfriend she was heart broken and ray tried to talk to her but she wouldn't budge she hoped away on her tiny feet as fast as she could then ray found out that wasn't him and helped my father and ended up taking the necklace that Lawrence had around his neck that was the shadow man's for his glamour and then the shadow man told the shadows to go after him he was able to get the necklace to my mother and she hopped away with it while ray stayed he might have been small but he surely had a lot of pride so much that he confronted the shadow man but shadow man ended up killing him and Louis found him on the ground while the shadow man went after my mother , my mother ended up defeating him breaking the necklace see the shadow man got that from I think some spirits or shadows but they toke him the shadow man was gone only leaving his last facial expression in the grave yard on a tombstone then my father was with Charlotte feeling her in on everything that happened and my mother got there but then Charlotte and my father ended up kissing but it didn't work it was already at midnight "

Then Cheryl gasped

"Then what happened?" Fangs asked

"Well they had a funeral for ray see he was in love with the star the wishing star Angeline she was his lover and he ended joining her making another star appear my parents didn't care weather they were frogs or human they loved eachother and at their as I put it nature wedding they kissed then turned back human leaving my mother in a beautiful green dress and my father in a green armer anyway my mother ended up making her dream come true with love of her prince naveen and my father learned not to be selfish and learned a valuable lesson they both did then they ended up having me Gabrielle ray Maldonia my middle name is named after somebody who not only saved New Orleans but also saved my parents, my parents say it's there love story but personally I call it the princess and the frog have a nice ring to it " I said

"Wow that was a beautiful story I loved it" sweet pea said

"Yeah it had twist and turns and love and pride " Veronica said

"Thanks " I said then I opened my lunch box to my gumbo and my beignets

"Wait what's that?" Jughead asked as I was pulling it it out

"Oh my momma famous beignets and gumbo these are my favorite food my mom is the best cook in New Orleans " I said then I opened my gumbo

"Y'all wanna try some ? I usually carry extra spoons but only when I'm feeling generous " I said then placed the gumbo on the middle of the table and spoons and they all looked at me

"Come on it's not poison if you taste it you will like it I promise " I said and they looked un sure at first but they all took a spoon and then toke some gumbo and they all put it in there mouth and there eyes widened and smiles appeared on there face

"Oh my god it's so delicious " Betty said licking the spoon

"Yeah your mom is a excellent cook !!" Jughead said then went back to take some more then I smacked his hand and he looked at me

"No double dipping "

"Ugh fine" he said and we all laughed Then I took my gumbo then started eating within 5 minutes I was finished and they all looked at me surprised

"Excuse me if I eat this like I'm an animal it's my favorite food " I said then they all laughed again then I took beignets out

"Girl how many do you have?" Veronica asked and i chuckled

"I always pack some extra just in case anyone wants one and apparently y'all like my moms cooking so here all of you take one these are my favorite dessert " I said then they all took one leaving me one in my box and I took it and they all took a bit out of there's

"Oh . My. God" Archie said and took another bit and i chuckled and toke a bit out of mine

"Oh it's like heaven in my mouth " Toni said eating it

"Exactly I love it" fangs said then toke another bite"

"Ugh! Why is it so good Imma need another one of these " Cheryl said then I finished mine and dusted off my hands then they all finished there's

"Sorry we toke a few only leaving you with one it was amazing!" Sweet pea said and I giggled

"No worries I can make more at home" I said then there eyes widened

"YOU MADE THESE " Betty said shocked

"Yep cooking runs in the family I was taught how to make gumbo and beignets at a young age that was my momma gumbo I like hers better then mine even tho we use the same ingredients but oh well and those beignets was made by me " I said and they smiled

"Well damn I'm going to need more" sweet pea said and I smiled

"Then I will most definitely bring y’all some of my momma food " then they all smiled

"So how was it living in New Orleans?" Fangs asked

"Oh it was the life we had parties every week I was singing with Louis also visiting my grandmama and mama odie in the bayou her teaching me the ways of voodoo since I was a child life was amazing " i said

"Then why did you move here ? I mean riverdale isn't like New Orleans " Toni asked

"I don't know I felt like I was missing something in my life my momma and daddy completely understood my momma thought it was her restaurant that she was missing but that was love as my mama odie always say you got to dig a little deeper to find out what ya need !" And I shrugged

"Do you think that you will find your prince someday?" Kevin asked

"Maybe I do maybe I don't it's not I like I'm giving up on love not giving up on love was a lesson my grandaddy taught my mother as a child my father just reminded her but if I find him I'll love him the same way my mother loves my father !" Then I smiled

"Oh just a question do any of you have powers from your parents story or pets?" I asked

"Oh I have super strength " Archie said and got up and lifted the couch where me sweet pea and Toni and fangs was sitting

"Woah!!"I said then he put us down and sat back in his seat

"I have a magic carpet ! BABA" sweet pea called and then I magic carpet came in flying to sweet pea and stood in front of him

"The carpet got a mind of its own baba go back to my locker please!" sweet pea said then the carpet came up to him and hit him in the face and I busted out laughing so did everyone else

"That ain't funny " sweet pea said and I kept laughing

"Oh that was a good one " I said and held out my hand so me and the carpet can to a high five and the carpet hit it

"Oh so now you both against me?!" Sweet pea said laughing a little

" I mean oh well !" I said then the carpet kept moving around me making me stand up

"Woah!!" I said as he was going around me and I looked at sweet pea and he looked surprised

"Sweet pea what's going on with baba?" I asked

"I don't know he have never reacted this way towards anyone before!" He said and then the carpet sat me down and then went probably back to sweet pea's locker

"What was weird it toke baba I few weeks to like me when we we first meant why did he like you all of a sudden ?" Sweet pea asked and I shrugged

"Eh anyway I can move water!" Toni said and took her water bottle and started moving her hand and water followed from her water bottle to her mouth

"Cool!"

"I'm a merman I can turn in to a merman every time I touch water my mother was a mermaid but my father is human " jughead said and I smiled

"I might be Merida daughter but I don't have powers I use my bow and arrow I also train " and I smiled

"I'm tinker bells son she is a fairy but my father is Peter Pan human so I can turn in to a fairy but also turn back human" fangs said

"I don't have powers but I surely know how to break in to stuff it's apart of my mothers story I also known for the trouble maker I always get in trouble " Betty said

"I don't have powers at all either but I have a looking glass but also I use my brain " Veronica said

"And I'm a worrier my mother saved all of China by proving that girls can fight and my father was a worrier too and I don't have powers!" Reggie said

"I don't have powers either but I'm really smart thanks to my love of books but sometimes I can go beast I mean really mean when I'm angry " Kevin said

"Wait do you have powers princess?" Sweet pea referred to me and I went really red and hid my face with my lunch box and everyone laughed and then I joined them

"Ok but really do you have powers?" Archie asked and I nodded

"Well what are they!" Betty asked smiling

"Oh uh I can do voodoo magic mama odie taught me spells I have my own spell book I also make spells" I said and there eyes widened

"Can we see ?" Sweet pea asked and I nodded

"Wait sweet pea where you get that black eye because I can heal it for you ! " I said and his eyes widened and he nodded

And I put my hand up to his eye and closed your eyes "by earth and air by fire and water so shall you hear my call powers by birth and rebirth powers of silence and peace heal his body and mind" and I opened my eyes and removed my hand and the black eye was gone

"Dude.." Archie said looking at sweet pea

"What is it gone?" He asked and I smiled and and everyone was shocked and Veronica gave sweet pea the looking glass and he looked at himself and his eyes widened and then he looked at me and back at the mirror and touched around his eye

"Oh my god is completely gone" Betty said

"How you do that " sweet pea said then give back the mirror to Veronica and then looked at me....

Disney+ What To Watch: My Top 10 Favourite Modern-Day Disney Classics

#2. The Princess and the Frog

With the Post-Renaissance era having mixed results from audiences, Disney decided to go back to its beloved an fruitful Disney Princess formula with the last 2D animated studio to date from the House of Mouse.

This not only reminded fans what they loved about Disney when it was on the top of its game, but also began what is now known as the Disney Revival era seeing a resurgence in Disney classics and it all began with the Disnefied spin on yet another classic fairy tale.

The Princess and the Frog does not get enough credit, period. Not only could this movie be mistaken for part of the 90s Renaissance, but the characters are fantastic, the comedy is on point, the music is original and fitting for the setting and...it may just be because there was a 7​1⁄2 year lull of sub-par movies from the mainstream Mouse House between Lilo & Stitch and this...but there is just this feeling of coming home or seeing an old friend again that I always get whenever I see this movie.

Now a lot of people who criticise this movie say that the main problem is the fact the plot seems very crowded, but really it is straight forward to follow and. if you treat it like a chessboard, the game is set up in the opening scene and song.

So basically you have, arguably, the best female Disney character in animation who has been brought up on strong moral values, she also has a life-long dream from a young age of becoming a well-known chef and owning her own restaurant to honour her father.

Simultaneously, you have a foreign spoiled prince who has been made broke by his parents who comes into the company of the movie’s villain who allows him to escape his troubles but by doing so curses him as a frog and employs his butler to take on the appearance of the prince, trick the local sugar baron’’s into marrying him and thereby takeover New Orleans and harvest its citizens for their souls to appease his friends on the other side.

Plots collide when our heroine meets the frog prince and is tricked into kissing him because he believes she is a princess and so promises to grant her the money for her restaurant if she frees him from his froggy prison, but instead she is turned into a frog and they must find a way to reverse the curse and thwart the evil villain.

I have genuinely just given a general synopsis of the movie in three very short paragraphs so if anyone still thinks this movie is confusing then either I’m missing something or you’re overthinking.

The lessons in this movie are so well learned and played out, the relationships are genuinely built up so that when our main protagonists do eventually fall in love it feels earned rather than just a business arrangement as it was originally going to be.

The choice to make this a 1912 Louisiana set movie, complete with a strong African-American protagonist and an equally strong ethnic Eurasian deuteragonist, as well as a Haitian villain, is genuinely revolutionary for not just Disney but family entertainment.

It doesn’t really shy away from prejudice, albeit while it is not a main focus of the movie, Tiana is put down numerous times not just for being a woman trying to succeed in life but also referred to as a woman with “her background” which means he skin colour, or her upbringing in a poor neighbourhood.

Tiana is the every girl for me, not only has she worked for everything that she has earned, even throughout the movie, but she has a smart head on her shoulders. She knows how to whip Naveen and her friends into shape, but also she is not afraid to stand up to the Shadow Man or any of her oppressors.

She also doesn’t believe herself a princess, she is not the type of doe-eyed dreamer that would usually fill the princess role. She has a drive, she’s determined, and it’s all real-world issues. Her motivations aren’t because of a man but providing for her future and maybe supporting her mother.

Even when cursed as a frog, she is still determined to achieve her goal, she just needs to be able to turn back into a human first which is where she learns life isn’t all about the endgame. That’s when she allows herself to open up to seeing the good in Naveen and allows herself to fall for him but in a natural organic way.

Anika Noni Rose does an absolutely amazing job as Tiana, she was born to be this character, I can genuinely see her as the live-action version of the character. Anyone saying Tiana was originally supposed to be Caucasian really needs a reality check, look at her design.

It also doesn’t hurt that Tiana’s main princess dress is green which happens to be my favourite colour.

Naveen is a lot like Flynn Ryder in terms of being that loveable rogue type of character but what elevates Naveen is he does at least learn and show personal growth throughout the movie, first with actually doing some hard work and cooking and then with developing actual emotions for Tiana and being conflicted into whether or not the most important thing is regaining his humanity and money or being with Tiana.

Dr. Facilier is one of the great Disney Villains, I may not be Haitian but I actually dressed as him for Halloween last year complete with UV skull face paint, now yes I’m practically a milk bottle and so a white skull face on me does not exactly show properly but I still felt very good about myself.

I loved the addition of voodoo to a family friendly atmosphere, it didn’t need to go into the blood rituals as heavily as say American Horror Story: Coven did but it still showed that a large part of voodoo is blood rituals with requiring Naveen’s blood in order to maintain the illusion of Lawrence being Naveen.

The personality they gave Facilier as well wasn’t exactly as sinister as Maleficent but instead more like Jafar or Scar, he allows himself to have his own brand of humour such as when he’s giving his tarot readings but also his sinister side manifests in how he utilises his magic and his friends on the other side and particularly his shadow.

Charlotte Le Bouff is probably the funniest supporting character I’ve seen since Mole from Atlantis or even the Genie in Aladdin. I absolutely love seeing this girl every time she is on screen, she steals the show in every scene she’s in. But also, you do feel for her. She wants that dream fairy tale life and you want her to get it because she is just that loveable.

If I had to say who I liked the least it would probably be Louis and Ray, nothing personally against them they are both decent comedic side characters, but they just seemed to be tagalongs and didn’t really contribute a purpose. Louis is an alligator who dreams of being a jazz musician which comes true when Tiana opens her restaurant and he is part of the house band, Ray is a Cajun firefly who is in love with a star and he gets to join her by becoming a star when he is, rather brutally, murdered by Facilier after a rather emotionally manipulating funeral scene.

Mama Odie and Eudora (Tiana’s mum) are great examples of Disney utilising named talent for minor roles, as both Jenifer Lewis and Oprah Winfrey respectfully do very reasonable jobs with what they’re given. I mean it’s Jenifer Lewis as a Voodoo Queen it’s just magic.

Just like Naveen, I was so happy with the infusion of Jazz music in this movie. I want to go New Orleans so badly, and I partially want to go there because it is the hub of jazz music. I loved the “Down in New Orleans” book-ended renditions at the start and the end of the movie, originally performed by Dr. John and in the reprise performed by Anika herself belting it out.

“Almost There” I love as a “I Want” song and as an empowerment mantra, it’s a song about focusing on your goals, working hard for them and it is catchy as hell.

“Friends on the Other Side” is the best villain song since “Be Prepared” and “Hellfire”. Not only does it give an amazing display of Facilier’s voodoo powers but Keith David delivers a fantastic performance all round.

“Dig a Little Deeper” is another great life motivation song, and if it is Jenifer Lewis singing it then she stays in character and does a great job.

The other songs are good, they’re nice but I do feel they’re a tad forgettable.

The Princess and the Frog is one of the more underrated Disney animated movies, it was unfairly weak at the box office, yet delivers a brilliant well-rounded story with fantastic characters, stunning visuals, great life lessons and an overall heartwarming feeling.

It’s also made me want to try beignets as I have never had them before.

If you were head writer for a hypothetical Season 8, where would you take the stories?

Let me start by saying that I honestly believe they were saving a lot of Princess and the Frog material for season 8, then had to rush it when they got canceled. So, Facilier would still be alive, and Tiana and Naveen would not be together yet.

TL;DR before you even get to the end: I have a lot of feelings and will maybe add to this. This features headcanons for Facilier and Alice primarily, a bit for Killian, Robin, and Regina, and some new locations or people I’d like to have met in season 8. 

Facilier: I love the idea of him being a solidly gray-character villain. Now, Once is NEVER good at those. Even the ones we have are only gray because the writers have them jump between black and white so often that their stories get muddled. I want Facilier to be a villain who you understand the motive of, but also know the means are wrong. “Cool story, still murder” kind of thing. After all, he was killing those witches (through Hansel) for a reason and using their hair clippings for something. What for?

I headcanon him having dolls made throughout seasons 7-8 of all of the main characters. Sometimes, it looks like he’s using them for good. After all, he obviously likes Regina, seems to like Lucy well enough, and doesn’t seem to have any issues with Henry or Ella. Obviously he’s using Naveen, wants something from Tiana, doesn’t have interaction with Killian, potentially framed Alice due to what she did with Rumple, and has no interaction with Robin.

Perhaps there is someone or something “on the other side” he wants to get a hold of. Regina can help him, and his feelings for her already have him helping her out. Due to his feelings for Regina, he also helps the rest of the Mills clan, and paints himself in their eyes as a reformed or reforming villain. After all, if some of them can do it, why can’t he?

But, what is it that he wants? And how is he going to go about it?

Killian & Robin: What better way to get back at Alice than through Killian or Robin? And, considering the fact that I love angst and I think Facilier still has a bone to pick with the former guardian, the quickest way to a girl’s heartbreak is through her formerly heart-poisoned papa and fiancee.

Even though she doesn’t have the guardian power anymore, it’s fact that Alice is extremely strong magically. Kiddo didn’t even know she had magic until Robin pointed it out to her, and by that point she had created a however-tall troll that could rip the roof off a prison already magicked up by a psychotic nymph, make a fully-formed vehicle appear just after seeing one picture of it, and could destroy previously mentioned nymph with her own half-human, half-nymph, full badass magic. If Facilier needs help getting to anything, he’s going to ask Regina first, but will end up getting to Alice.

And, to get to Alice, he will use dolls of Killian and Robin any way he needs to. Imagine Alice seeing her father double over in pain again because of a fresh stab to the heart? Imagine her seeing Robin do the same? Alice looks at the ring on her finger and screams for him to stop. She’ll do anything to save the two of them. Killian and Robin, of course, urge her not to do this. Whatever he wants, even if Regina trusts him, doesn’t settle well with them.

I love Regina and Killian in season 7, but this is where I see a potential conflict. They’d eventually come to the same side, but Once does love its drama and what better way to create it than to have Regina believing that Facilier is ultimately trying to do good, maybe not in the best way, and Killian believing it doesn’t matter what his aim is, he doesn’t trust anything after what he’s put them all through?

“You’d certainly understand, Your Majesty.”

Alice: I would have loved, with the above mentioned, for her to reuse or repurpose her quote in 7x18 of, “I’d like to speak to some dead.” Could you imagine a scene where Facilier thinks he can use her or work with her (depending on which side of gray he is on this particular day or for this particular reason) and he finds a door to “the other side” in some creepy mansion? They go in, Alice magically lights some candles, and suddenly the piano starts playing the ballroom music from the Haunted Mansion. Ghosts start dancing throughout, and she’s torn between being terrified and in awe. I mean, it’s creepy, but it’s super cool! Maybe even add in the Tower of Terror here, but that’s likely licensed and unavailable for Disney’s use.

Disney locations used (and I will continue to think about so I can give a purpose for): The Haunted Mansion, the bayou, Quasimodo’s church (not sure if we can specifically call it Notre Dame but some old cathedral), Atlantis

Disney characters used (and I will continue to think about so I can give a purpose for): Louis and his mother or friend Mama Odie, Milo and Kida from Atlantis, a new version of Capt. Silver that we can have a maritime steampunk world like Treasure Planet…. I’m just going off the walls now, aren’t I? But imagine! A decent, steampunk version of Silver bonding with Nemo and Killian not knowing what to do with himself!

I need to keep thinking about this… And it might be a series of posts. I am only a little sorry. And, by a little, I mean not at all.

Disney songs, sung by a neural network with a very short memory

I train neural networks, which are a type of computer program that try to learn to copy human things by looking at examples. By giving them just a list of names and no further instructions, I can get neural networks to invent names for paint colors, guinea pigs, craft beers, and more.

The way I set up a neural network will control how well it does at its task. One important parameter I can control is the length of its memory. Let’s see what happens when I make its memory really, really short.

Here’s why memory is important for a neural network: As it’s generating the letters of new words, it’s looking at the letters it has already generated, trying to figure out what comes next. If it can look back over several words or even sentences, it will be more memory-intensive to run than a neural network that can only see a couple of words at a time, but it will also be better at learning long phrases.

Here’s how this plays out when I train a neural network to write lyrics to Disney songs.

I started with a list of 224 Disney songs from a lyrics dataset posted by GyanendraMishra on Kaggle, about 8200 lines in all.

50 character memory

At first, the neural network had a modest memory length of 50 characters - that is, 50 letters. Its view of the dataset, and of the text it generates, looks something like the this:

Humans who know the “I can show you the world” song from Aladdin can probably recognize this bit and fill in what comes next. The neural network can work with this too. It memorizes whole lines of songs, although it sometimes jumps between different songs - I’ve built a small degree of randomness into its choice of which letters to use next so it doesn’t always go with its top choice.

You’ll notice that it tends to get stuck on certain repetitive lines - that’s because those lines repeat in the original dataset, so the neural network learns that one “paint with all the colors of the wind” line is followed by a second. What it doesn’t know, however, is how many “colors of the wind” lines it’s already seen at a given point. Its view of these lines at any given time is something like:

And it has no idea whether to move on to the next line, or to keep singing the same one. Usually, like Dory, it just keeps singing.

20 character memory

With less than half the memory that it had before, the neural net is struggling a little harder. Its view of the training data looks something like:

It still can memorize phrases (it can spell supercalifragilisticexpialidocious like a champ), but now gets lost and jumps between songs more easily. It tends to string together songs with some similarity, so Heigh-Ho (we dig dig dig dig dig dig dig in our mine the whole day through) gets mixed up with drip drip drop little April shower, and Mama Odie’s song from Princess and the Frog (you gotta dig). And once it starts singing Heigh-ho, Heigh-ho, it basically doesn’t stop.

A memory this short is seriously unfair to give a neural network that’s trying to learn whole phrases. That line from Aladdin now looks something like:
