((This is a laughter-based/laughter-focused RP. It takes places in an AU of the My Hero Academia universe. The main characters are Sir Nighteye (main target), Ms. Joke and Mr. Smiley ('Villains' (They're no actually villains) in this situation), and Hawks is a narrator/bystander/observer.))
Sir Nighteye was cornered. Somehow, he was stuck in his office. He had been working late at his office, like usual, but he couldn't exit. The door seemed locked from the outside. He looked at the door, surprised. Had someone locked him in? He was about to shout to see if one of his assistants, or even Mirio, was there. But, before he could, two people appeared from behind his bookshelves that were filled with books on All Might.
He was surprised further as he recognized one person. It was Ms. Joke, the smile Hero, and a man who looked like an artist, but he didn't look at him directly, but he seemed to be smiling. He relaxed slightly. There was no need to be scared with other heroes around. Or, at least one hero.
He nodded politely at Ms. Joke and the unknown man. "It's a pleasure, Ms. Joke. I must ask, what are you doing here so late? Did you require assistance?" He paused, looking at the door. "I'm afraid we're locked inside. Did you see anyone on your way in?" He was, so far, oblivious.
He observed the hero and unknown man before she could answer, curious as to why the man wouldn't look at him. Was he shy? He seemed cheerful, however. He was still smiling. He raised an eyebrow, thinking a bit before asking anymore questions.
He was quite intelligent, so he came to a reason quite quickly. There was Ms. Joke here, The Smile Hero, whose quirk, Outburst, caused her opponent to laugh. And the strange man wouldn't stop smiling, but refused eye contact with anyone. Could his quirk be similar but have to do with eye contact?
His eyes widened. This could be the reason. (He was correct, unbeknownst to him). Thinking back, he had been so focused on work, he'd let his love for humor take a back seat, not punishing his assistants, or pupil, with the Tickle Machine. He honestly hadn't laughed, chuckled, or even smiled in quite a while. He knew who first had this idea, too. "Mirio!!!" He yelled out suddenly. Was he nearby?
He glanced towards his captors, suddenly worried. If he was being recorded, it might be uploaded to the Internet and his love for humor and laughter (and the fact he laughed at all) would ruin his stern public image. Not just in Japan, but the world over (It was a secret to the general public).
He thought about fighting, but didn't want to harm anyone at the moment. He must escape. He dashed past them into a back room. He couldn't let himself be caught or affected by any quirk.
Unbeknownst to him, Hawks was outside, in on the joke. He was recording everything with a camera. In addition, many cameras were set up in his office in secretly so nothing was missed.
My headcanon for a young Mr. Smiley and Mr. Frowney from the 80s when they first met. Harold was still in his RnB acting bag and Quentin was taking a break from his business trip abroad… 👀
@godofvillains
Mr. Smiley frowned in thought as he approached Shigaraki. “So, why should I join you? I’m just a humble artist.” He asked. “I have no interest in the League of Villains.” He was honestly thinking this guy just needed to laugh.
