classic murder mystery au told from the perspectives of Inspectors Mace Windu and Ahsoka Tano who are called in to investigate the murder of Senator Palpatine, who was found dead on the grounds, cause of death: MURDER. The investigation is on to catch the killer hiding amongst an eclectic bunch of visitors to the senator’s country manor for the long weekend. His husband turned widow, young Anakin Skywalker. World famous equestrian Padmé Amidala. Celebrity chef Rex Fett and his brother, soldier Cody Fett. High court judge Bail Organa and business heiress Breha Organa. Count Dooku. The town’s vicar, Obi-Wan Kenobi. The gardener, Qui-Gon Jinn. Mystery novelist Quinlan Vos
Everyone has an airtight alibi. No one really likes each other but it’s clear everyone hates Palpatine and everyone has a reason to want him dead, especially his new and young husband, who stands to inherit all his money. It’s common knowledge that it was not a love match at all. And it’s also common knowledge that it’s Always The Spouse™️.
But when it comes out that the investigators are closing in on the widow Skywalker and are planning to pin the murder on him because his alibi is the shakiest, the vicar cannot stay silent any longer. He must come clean.
Oh, not about the murder. He has no idea about who murdered Palpatine. But it definitely wasn’t Anakin! On the night of the murder, Mr. Skywalker was with Obi-Wan. In the chapel. Yes. At midnight. Alone.
…Praying.

Day two of Hideduo/FitPac Kiss Week – Kiss on the Forehead & Murder Mystery AU
[ ao3 link here ] [ fic below cut! ]
Fit’s never been this interested by someone before.
This detective– Pac, as he introduced himself all those weeks ago at Spreen’s funeral– is very intriguing. While all the other detectives who visited him after the ‘mysterious’ death of his late husband jumped straight into the investigation and questioning process, detective Pac seems to be going much slower, taking in the situation and his surroundings.
He asks about his thoughts and feelings on the events that had occurred and how he’s coping. He’s gentle with Ramón when it’s time to question the child and doesn’t get annoyed or snappy with the little boy when his answers are a bit incoherent. He doesn’t jump to any conclusions and takes everything said with a grain of salt, considering it from every perspective and not just assuming the truth.
It’s... a very nice change of pace, to be completely honest. One Fit is absolutely taking advantage of, considering the circumstances.
Plus, the detective is very, very, attractive. Long, black hair pulled back. Dark eyes that seemed to shine with the light. A lean yet muscley body. His suits were always tailored perfectly and he always smelled like roses. The bonus was how flustered he got every time he saw the dresses Fit wore, stuttering and trying to advert his eyes the moment his eyes landed on him.
Fit smiles lazily, spinning the wine inside his glass with a small twirl of his wrist, letting the alcohol slosh against the edges of the glass as he leans back against the plush, leather sofa. The dress he’s wearing today is a deep, dark red. The same shade as the wine in his glass and the blood that was spilled (not that anyone needs to know that part, though).
And, while his current attire is quite revealing, it’s modest compared to the last few times the detective had visited. The neckline was still low and showed off a generous amount of his chest, but the skirt was much longer and went down past his knees, a slit coming up the side to his thigh. He’s not even wearing heels today, and the stockings he’s wearing only come up to his thighs.
“So.” Fit speaks, voice silky smooth as usual. “You’re saying someone must have not disposed of the body? That my husband’s body might still be here?”
Pac’s face flushes and his eyes dart away, trying to avoid looking at Fit. His fingers drum against the notebook in his lap, filled with his messy scribbles of the conversation and notes. His own glass of wine sits next to him, empty.
“I– I wouldn’t say ‘still here’.” Pac stutters, fidgeting with one of his finger’s of his gloved hand. “The body may have been disposed of, just not properly. If someone didn’t do the job right, then the body would be somewhere around here.”
Fit hums, raising an eyebrow as he crosses his legs, the fabric of the dress bunching up around his thighs. He takes a long sip of his wine, making sure the detective is looking as he licks his lipstick-covered lips. “That’s quite a theory.” He says.
The other male nods. “Well, yeah, but it’s the only one that makes sense. There’s a record of a missing body, but there’s no way the body could have been taken out of the neighborhood without anyone noticing.” He speaks, frowning as he thinks. “The police have been strict in this area thanks to the murders that have happened recently, as you know, so if the body were taken out, then they would have noticed and caught whoever was trying to take it.”
“Yes, the police have been quite diligent since all these murders have been occurring.” He says, putting his glass out and leaning forward. “More wine, detective?”
Pac glances at the glass and bites his lip, thinking. After a moment, he sighs and holds his glass out. “If you don’t mind, thank you.”
The American takes the bottle of wine and pours the other man some, smiling at him as he sits back and takes another sip. Pac gives him a grateful nod and takes a sip as well, savoring the taste of the drink. They keep talking and drinking as the night progresses, the atmosphere getting more relaxed.
After a few glasses of wine, Pac is a little tipsy, yet he finally is comfortable enough to have a real conversation. The detective is leaning against the armrest, head propped up by his hand. Fit’s sitting a bit more comfortable now, having taken off his shoes and is resting his feet in the detective’s lap, who doesn’t seem to mind.
“You know, Fit, you’ve really got me thinking.” Pac says, frowning a little as he thinks.
Fit stares at the expression, entranced. “Really?” He purrs, reaching out and brushing his fingers against the other’s stubbled jaw. Pac stiffens a bit but doesn’t pull away, looking down at the hand before glancing back up at the others face with an eager look in his eyes. “What’s got you so deep in thought, detective?”
The detective hesitates a moment before replying. “You, actually.”
The widow smiles, pleased. “Is that so? What about me is on your mind?” He asks, running his fingers up to the detective’s hair, twirling a few strands.
“You– you’re just very mysterious.” Pac replies, licking his lips as he shifts. “I know next to nothing about you, past the basics and what is needed for the case. Even though I’ve come over every other day, I feel like I barely know you.”
The American tilts his head, eyes glittering. “Oh? Would you like to know more about me, detective?”
Pac blinks before his face flushes again, his cheeks a pretty pink. “Well– I, I mean, yeah. That’d be nice.” He stutters out, eyes widening as Fit leans even closer.
“I could tell you everything about me.” Fit whispers, breath fanning across Pac’s lips. “But, I’m afraid you might not like what you’ll find, Pac.”
The Brazilian frowns, confused. “Why would I not–” He cuts himself once he realizes how close their lips are, Fit’s body hovering above his own. He feels his heart start to race, the beat quickening the longer he stays silent.
Fit’s about to press a kiss against the other’s lips when Pac moves his head down at the last second, causing the other to press a kiss against his forehead. Pac’s eyes are wide and his breathing is heavy, chest heaving up and down as he tries to process what just happened. He doesn’t seem to be the only one, for Fit has a stunned look on his face.
“Pac...?” Fit asks, a little uncertain.
The detective looks up and stares at the other, conflict in his face. “No, sorry, I– it's not you.” He says, pushing the other away gently and standing. “I just– not like this, at least.”
He stands up, stumbling a little, and starts towards the door, only to be stopped by Fit grabbing his arm. He turns around, surprised, and watches as Fit pulls him down, their faces a few inches apart. “I– I should go, Fit.” Pac stutters, averting his eyes. “I’ve stayed here for too long.” He says, pulling away.
Fit lets him go this time, and Pac takes the chance to leave. He walks out the door and down the hall, only turning around when he gets to the staircase. Pac stops, staring at the figure of Fit standing in the doorway, before taking a deep breath and hurrying down the stairs.
As the detective leaves, Fit holds his chin, a curious look on his face. Oh, he’s very intrigued now. Pac was pulling away but his eyes told a completely different story. Eagerness, conflict, desire… Fit smirks, chuckling to himself as he closes the door.
“What have you found, my dear detective.” He tells himself. “What have you found…”

The Last Curtain Call: A Murder Mystery
Character roles picked by a random generator and the details chosen by you, who killed who before the last show?
You'll find out what was happening behind the curtain, what pasts were being kept private, and who was having a secret affair. Here's hoping the chosen characters make sense!
This coming week or so, there will be polls to involve you in the creation of this story. They will all be tagged #murder mystery au and will run for a week. The more people who vote, the better!
these will be the poll questions, i will link them here once they've all been posted:
still open: who was the murderer?
what was the murder weapon?
for character 1, did any lingering feelings stay, or was it really just one kiss?
for character 2, what was overheard when they were arguing the night of the murder?
for character 3, was the affair actually love?
for character 4, how much of an enemy were they?
for character 5, as the last to see them, what were they doing?
for character 6, did it seem a genuine friendship from an outsider's perspective
for character 7, what did people think was happening when they were always sneaking around?
for character 8, were they happy being an understudy?
i really hope people haven't left this fandom so much that they can't vote. I'm pretty excited for this, but it'll be so much more fun if people are involved aha

I need to stop making aus
Darnell is a friendly, upstanding citizen on the outside. Always helping those in need and offering advice without a second thought. He'd return a thousand dollars if he'd found it laying on the street. However, deep down, he's got a horrible secret. He's one of the most wanted serial killers in Philadelphia, leaving little to no evidence unless he wanted to taunt the police. He's insanely good at what he does, never leaving anything that could trace back to him in any way. His childhood best friend (and fiancé) has also grown some... homicidal tendencies. Although he doesn't murder for the thrill of it as often as Darnell does, he certainly helps, and may or may not sneak bits of victims into his meals. Boyfriend, a well known police officer in their city, is working hard to find the unknown killer that is terrorizing Philly, but when he gets close, he always ends up on a dead trail. He's growing frustrated, but luckily he has his two good friends to ask advice from. After all, Pico and Darnell know him better than anybody, sometimes even better than Girlfriend. Surely they can help him... right?

“You think Munson did it?” Robin asked in a whisper, turning around again. It was a taboo subject, to talk about if someone really was guilty of killing a poor cheerleader. Yet, Steve found, everyone did it anyway.
There is no such thing as the Upside Down. The curse on Hawkins is very real, and it's very human. After all, how many deaths can be attributed to bad luck when the reality is a serial killer has made their home in small-town Indiana?

Murder Mystery AU?
Since Pix withered away and lost the crown, I had this AU forming in my head. I wanted to get it out here, and I'm working on a fanfic of this AU for myself. I might post some chapters, but I might just leave it as this.
Suspects: Scott, Katherine, Sausage, Shelbie, Joel
Detectives: Jimmy, fWhip
Victim(s): Pix, maybe Joey and Lizzy
Side characters: Oli, Gem, False
Pix would get murdered either at his museum, or at the tea party Katherine held. Jimmy would arrive a couple hours later, and the investigation would begin. Scott would be interviewed first seeing as he just acquired the crown Pix had before. Katherine hosted the event, so she'd be second on the list. Sausage handed out drinks, so if the cause was linked to poison then Sausage would also be interviewed. Shelbie would've been seen acting off after the death, which would make her a mild suspect. And Joel would be interviewed by fWhip because Joel would mock Jimmy to death before spilling any important info.
Joey or Lizzy could die next, Lizzy as a means of hurting Joel, and Joey as a means of directing the murderer to Shelbie or Katherine.
Oli would try to calm the group down, and would offer some help to Jimmy and fWhip, but ultimately wouldn't help much. However, he would still be useful as he'd be the one to potentially intervene during a heated argument between the cast.
False would provide some insight into Pix just...as a character, and try to provide motives for the others. She'd mostly try and stay out of the whole thing, but would pitch in when called upon.
Gem would give a detailed account of the night and be a useful witness, because I think she'd be observant enough to notice some small details prior to Pix dying.
That's it! It's not a ton of stuff, but I still think it's pretty fun.
Bye, have a great day/night!

Note
In the murder mystery AU, not that they committed the murder OBVIOUSLY, but once it's happened and Anakin is a grieving (and very wealthy) widower... I'm pretty sure vicars in the Church of England can get married? :D
tbh I think it’s funniest if they really don’t commit the murder and are just 100% benefiting from someone else’s murder because they could never truly change their circumstances (they have their duties of course ) but they could recognize a boon when they see one…..which just leads to widow Skywalker walking around the property SUPER happy while his husband’s murder is investigated…so happy he cannot contain his cheerful smile or good morning as he walks around the grounds
(To Kenobi’s disgruntlement of course)
(He IS ostensibly meant to be here to MOURN his DEAD husband, ANAKIN.)

The night is dark and deep.
It was something his mother used to say, tucked comfortably into a stuffed chair, warm and safe before the hearth, a cloud of smoke drifting lazily around her head. At the time, as a child, Steve had found it profound. There were terrors lurking in the night, but so too were there wonders. That single phrase used to awaken his curiosity, more than his fear, keep him up until sunrise, staring out the window at the dark forest surrounding the estate. Dreaming of a world just out of reach.
Now, with the weight of age and experience behind him, he knows she was drunk, and high, and bored. Desperate to seem mysterious. Interesting. She spent so long around empty headed nobles, it was only a matter of time before she became hollowed out herself.
Shame.
The night is dark, and deep.
He finds himself thinking it as he’s roused unexpectedly from sleep. The fire hasn’t yet burned down to embers and the kids are sprawled around the clearing on their bedrolls. Dustin is snoring. It sounds like stone grinding. He lies still, eyes barely open, staring into the black woods, waiting, repeating those words again, again, a mantra, unsure of what prompted them.
The night is Dark. And Deep.
He understands better now, he thinks.
It’s the eyes he sees first. Glittering gold and reflecting the dying fire light, they peer at him. Steve’s sword is barely a foot away, easily within reach. He doesn’t yet move.
Then it’s the breathing, no more than a breeze and barely stirring the leaves of the bush, kissing the underbrush as its head lowers. Those eyes shine white for a brief moment. Steve matches breath for breath.
The night is dark.
The smell comes next. Wet dog and hot, rancid air. Rotting blood.
And deep.
It lunges and Steve reacts. Rolls out of bed, blankets falling away as he grabs the hilt, slaps the sheathed blade hard on the snarling muzzle, sending the scabbard flying. It hits Mike, who flails into consciousness cursing. Blade bare, Steve plants his feet and readies himself.
Before him, the Beast unfolds, and unfolds, and unfolds, taller than it should be, bigger than he thought possible, looming and heaving, slavering jaws open. Its claws look like they could rend chainmail with nary a thought. Its canines are as long as his middle finger.
Around him the kids are rousing, yelling and cursing. Scared.
The night is Dark and Deep. Untold terrors and wonders hide beneath its cover. One of those terrors stands before him.
Steve moves.
He doesn’t remember the fight.
He knows there was one, by the damage to the clearing, by the blood coating the bedrolls. They trod through the fire at one point, scattering embers everywhere, alighting a dead bush. The smell of burnt hair lingers.
The armour saved his life.
Dustin, prior, would spend anywhere between five minutes and a short eternity each night heckling Steve’s decision to wear his chainmail to sleep in the wilderness. Five minutes to forever per night of inescapable mockery, as he gathered firewood, started a fire, cooked the paltry offerings of the night, with a brief interlude for hunting. Five minutes to the beginning of purgatory listening to a brat years his junior criticizing the lessons of preparedness drilled into him as a squire himself, that hurt no one but him, that they, until now, had no need of.
Dustin no longer makes fun of Steve’s caution.
So it was, by the grace of paranoia and a solid shot to the eye courtesy of one Lucas Sinclair, Stephen Harrington survived a tussle with a Lykind.
He did not, however, emerge unscathed.
The cut, while short lived, is deep, rent across his chest and belly, exposing bone and blood. Dustin takes any opportunity to remind Steve that he’s one of three people to have ever touched Steve’s internals. Robin takes every opportunity to smack them both on their ear and chant, “Never Again,” as she walks away.
Steve, for his part, feels that’s unfair of her, since he’s never desired to know the precise texture and temperature of his guts, but that argument never manages to sway them.
To hear her tell it, Steve’s soul divorced his body many times that night, held together with thread and a prayer while wet flesh refused to stay closed under their hands. The healing was slow, so slow, yet inhumanly fast. By morning his destroyed torso was whole once more with only an angry red scar to mark the wound and Steve was on his feet, swaying and stumbling worse than a drunken sailor in a whorehouse, but alive and intact. Miraculous. He was fine.
Everything was fine.
Until the full moon.
