[Episode One] First Impressions.

We end the night by sharing a Dessert Course, full of local fare and Simstagram-worthy snacks, with House Three!

What a way to end a whirlwind of a night! The relaxed and sociable atmosphere that our contestants of House Three carried through their tea and sweets was a blessing to our tuckered-out Bachelor, who thoroughly enjoyed their company! Looks like there might be one sim he wants to know a little better, though... 👀

this was such a fun group to watch interact! you can see that jiro was a surprising highlight of the night, constantly standing up to keep his fellow contestants entertained! (which was equally hilarious because everyone besides dan became bored with their conversations at some point)

absolutely none of them wanted to sit down, but they all were autonomously clustering into little chat groups all night, it was adorable!

nolan and jiro are already at 35 points of friendship?? they vibed really well together, and nolan loved all of jiro's mixology practice!

zayden and adrian would not let anyone else sit next to dan. he kept bouncing back and forth interacting with them, it was as though zayden would ask a question, dan would answer, and then adrian would ask him something! man's got a kink in his neck now y'all

jasper kept entertaining the group with "outrageous stories" that had them all laughing!

francis kept getting overwhelmed by the amount of people in the room (he developed the "fear of crowded spaces" quirk during gameplay, poor baby) but suraj kept comforting him

suraj discovered he "likes complaints" which i am manifesting as him being a Listener(tm) dkhffdkhd

i want to ground them all from those god damn future cubes, they ALL brought one out at some point during the night jkfhdf we love a social adapter!

i cannot believe we got here, folks. looking at this last group of contestants sitting here, enjoying each other's company, knowing that the group dates and first real rose ceremony is coming up next... fkdhfjsdkjfh

Under cut for length; I needed to talk about my babiesss.

What was the first element of your OC that you remember considering (name, appearance, backstory, etc.)? 

Shae: Shae was appearance, though and through. She'd gone through so many changes; species changes as she traveled through fandoms and back and forth between getting pulled from them to be from original concepts. Being online during the massive point online where "Mary Sue bad and you're a terrible person for making them!", she kind of just went onto this backburner with everything; looks, appearance, story, everything.

Ripper: Mostly appearance, but a super loose as hell backstory as well. Rips was originally a Left 4 Dead OC and of a concept that never actually made it to the game at that. Most of what did exist of his backstory was just that he was an asylum escapee who was turned. Rather than the straight jacket being closed up, his arms were free. He's had the most changes over his entire timespan.

Arsenic: Appearance 100%. He actually was originally a concept made by my nephew! He wanted a zombie chef, so I made a zombie chef!

3. How did you choose their name? 

Shae: I honestly don't even remember where her name came from. It wasn't exactly a popular name when I made her, damn probably about seventeen years ago now? Maybe longer, I think.

Ripper: Was originally a sort of punny name. "A scream ripping at one's throat". Where Joseph Trumoil came from, is one of those things that just... happened. Sometimes names just get stuck in my head. I'll quote him directly from the WIP of Chapter 26 of Mnemonic Impressions for why it's still Ripper: "Thanks to my old line of work, if it were humanly possible at that time, I could rip someone apart and know exactly how to do it to cause the most damage; didn’t help I used t’ do some body building. My friends were… fucked up t’ say the least."

Arsenic: I kinda thought it would be funny for an undead, zombie chef to have his name be the same as a poison.

8. What (if anything) do you relate to within their character/story? 

Shae: Let's just say that I am actually very mouthy like Shae it. And, just like with her current situation with Sinjin, I need to learn how to keep my mouth shut so I don't get hurt.

Ripper: There's actually not much story wise I relate to with Rips. If anything, I'm envious of my own character. He's charismatic, charming, his style is impeccable. I guess he did get a lot of my "do no harm, but take no shit" personality.

Arsenic: The cooking! Arsenic is literally probably the person I would become (sans the murders) if I actually stayed in the food service industry.

12. What have you found to be most difficult about creating art for your OC (any form of art: writing, drawing, edits, etc.)? 

Shae: It's actually been difficult to keep her silver tongued, combative, defiant, but also keeping her... alive. In all honesty, she would probably be dead by now if I didn't mellow her out a bit. She's legit supposed to be as vile as Sinjin is, cutting some completely reprehensible stuff, but I also know that she would have been long since dead before her story even started.

Ripper: No lie, actually nailing down his official design. Every time I think I have something solid, I go "oh, this would work with him!" and then things would change. Rinse and repeat. Now it's more just trying to nail down exactly who I wanna build his facial structure off of, because William Treat is EXACTLY how he smiles, but I also adore him having sharp features like Dum Dum from Cyberpunk 2077 has. Trying to blend the two together is... fun.

Arsenic: HIS FACE. HIS FUCKING FACE. I DID IT TO MYSELF BUT GOD WHY

16. What is something about your OC can make you cry? 

Shae: Her story. Like, god her story is fucked up and just the fact that so much about her kids was kept from her and knowing everything she's gone through, that she's the way she is through so much tragedy and just out of a necessity to survive.

Ripper: Also his backstory, but also like... this man is such a sweetheart and sensitive. Be it because he's just being so goddamn cute or because he's going through an existential crisis, he's probably gonna say something that would either turn me into a mushy mess or bawling my eyes out because why did I hurt you this much.

Arsenic: There's two things with him. When he lets his walls down and lets people in, showing that he's not just a hardened ghoul who hates everything around him. Also, if anything were to happen to Crow, this man's heart would absolutely shatter and he'd probably lose his goddamn mind. That sort of mental torment of feeling like he's lost his soul mate, knowing how he'd react to it, especially now with them in his life again.

19. What is your favorite fact about your OC?

Shae: Not so much of a fact of the character itself (because imho anything I really say with her will give away parts of Addicted), but the fact that she's the second OC I've ever created! She's my second oldest OC, being seventeen (plus) years old.

Ripper: He's only second generation American born in his family! His parents are the first born, his grandmother is from Palermo, his grandfather from Verona.

Arsenic: No matter what, Arsenic was meant to cook and I don't mean that just by his concept alone. He's someone who would be considered to have a natural born talent for what he does and I genuinely cannot think of anything else I would have ever even considered putting him in. If it wasn't a chef, it would've been a cafe owner.

Tendo Satori

It was hard to fall for a close friend. A simple friendship suddenly became complicated. Every action, big or small, meant something. Satori caught himself searching for even the smallest of signs that his feelings could be reciprocated. Being friends meant he didn’t need an excuse to hang around ______, and to spend all his time with her was almost addicting.

Tendou was enjoying his last ten minutes of freedom before heading to volleyball practice with non-other than ______. They were eating ice-pops under the shade of a tree and watching the world move around them. He peeked at her now and then, trying his best not to be caught staring.  It was both wonderful and torturous to happen to be so close to the girl who happened to be his crush for the last year.

“Can I see your jersey?” ______ suddenly asked.

“Why?” he asked back, arching a brow at her.

“Just let me see it,” she insisted. She finished her ice-pop and threw the stick on the trashcan.

Tendou hesitated for a second, but ended up reaching for his sports bags and digging for his jersey. “Don’t stain it. I have a match after school.” She nodded at his request, and grabbed the piece of clothing with both her hands. She stood up and extended it. A chuckle escaped her mouth.

“It’s unbelievable how long you are,” she stated. He rested his head on his hand, too interested on her profile to look anywhere else. His eyes opened a little wider when he saw her intentions. She slipped inside the jersey with ease, the shirt falling flawlessly in place. Tendou’s eyes became a little bit wider—if that was possible. He stiffened his jaw so his mouth wouldn’t stand ajar. He would probably look tense, but at least he wouldn’t be as obvious as if he was there with his mouth opened and unblinking eyes fixed on her. “It looks like the shirts I use to sleep.”

Tendou almost choke on his spit. He didn’t need the image in his head, and now he would have it forever imprinted in his mind. He was already bitting his tongue and not tell her he could see her using his number on her back whenever he had a match. “I need that for later,” he managed to say. He would love to see more of her wearing his jersey, and even his jacket… and that was a risky thing to be daydreaming about.

Hinata Shoyo

Hinata was a clumsy guy and it wasn’t a secret for anyone. He shouldn’t have been surprised when he opened his sport bag and discover the clothes inside weren’t his. He gasped. He could pin point the exact moment he had lost his bag.

Class had ended and he had been ready to head for an early start of his evening, until ______ made him come into a halt. Just the sight of her sent him into cardiac arrest. His presence didn’t go unnoticed, and before he could blink and catch his breath, ______ had approached him. Unable to win against his own feelings, he had stayed with her and walked down the hallways of the school. Out of the blue, another guy ran between them, abruptly crashing with ______, sending her to the floor, and ripping Hinata’s sports bag from his shoulder. He had run to check on her immediately, and offered her a timid hand. In his nervousness, he had handed her one of the two bags on the floor without checking he was picking the right one. They were both using the school bag, and it had gone entirely over his head.

He blushed at the sight of the feminine clothes and zipped the bag opened in a hurry. “I’ll be back!” he shouted to his teammates, and exited the locker room abruptly. He sprinted across the playgrounds with the sport bags bouncing on his side. He surrounded the building, reaching the entrance. A bunch of girls stared at him, and he gulped. “I-I’m sorry. I’m looking for… uhm, for ______.”

“Oh, she’s on the back. Just knock,” one of the girls said, eying Hinata from head to top. He nodded repetitively, and dashed away again. He was not only embarrassed, but he couldn’t miss training himself.

He found the backdoor of the building as he was indicated and knocked. “Come in,” ______ said.

Hinata opened the door, ready to apologize and swear on his life he hadn’t looked inside. Yet, he was sent into shock when right before him ______ was wearing his jersey—wearing his clothes. His cheeks turned red as his heart launched out of his chest.

“Oh my god, I’m so sorry,” she blurted, removing the jersey. Hinata almost had a heart attack, but thankfully she was wearing an undershirt. “I was just curious. I’m so sorry.” She gave him her back but he managed to catch a glimpse of her flushed face.

She folded the jersey and put it inside the bag. With her head down, she made her way to him, and in silence they exchanged bags. Hinata had never seen ______ acting so shy. “Thank you for bringing me my bag,” she said with a tiny, little voice.

“Your welcome,” he answered with a similar tone. He had liked what he had seen, and he didn’t know what to do now.

Iwaizumi Hajime

Iwaizumi stared at the pouring rain outside of the window of the gymnasium. They were in the middle of spring, and while it wasn’t as cold as it was a month ago, it wasn’t much better.

The bell rang, and the class dismiss. He was ready to head to the cafeteria and have something to eat prior to volleyball training. He was starving.

Among the people on the hallways, he spotted someone special. A smile automatically appeared on his face. He got to see her on a daily basis, and each day was just as special. He couldn’t get enough. The moment he realized he had a crush on ______ he knew what to do. He just had to find the perfect moment to confess. And in the meanwhile, he took every chance he had to hang out with her. With no hesitation, he changed directions. Suddenly eating wasn’t that important. “Hey, ______.”

She snapped her head at him and smiled briefly. “Hey, Iwaizumi.”

He arched an eyebrow at her attitude, and took a better look at her. The front of her shirt was damped. “What happened?”

“Ah, we had to clean the classroom, and a girl hit a bucket and got water all over me. Maybe I’ll just take it off and put on my sweater. Maybe no one will notice.”

“But it’s freezing outside.”

“Ah, don’t remind me. It’s going to be a long way home,” she whined and then hissed when the cold, damped fabric pressed on her stomach. “I need to take this off.”

“Wait.” Iwaizumi knelt, and opened his gym bag. He felt relief at the sight of his jersey. He had packed it by accident the day before, and had forgotten to take it out on the next morning. Now, it was more than handy. He stood up, offering the shirt to ______. “You just have to return it tomorrow.”

She opened her eyes in surprise. “Are you sure? Won’t you need it?”

“Not until Thursday,” he assured her and picked up his bag, hanging it on his shoulder. “Come on.” She nodded and closed her locker, following Iwaizumi. They walked in silence to the restrooms. He picked down at her. Her cheeks wore a light pink, and her hands hung unsure close to her chest. Iwaizumi chest filled with the same warm feeling only ______ could give him.

He stopped outside the girl’s restrooms and gave the jersey to her.

Her hands grabbed it timidly, and rushed inside. He smiled at himself one more time. He was planning on giving her the shirt and going his own way, but then it occurred to him he would get to see her wearing his jersey and he couldn’t walk away from that.

Five minutes later, she exited the restrooms and he made sure to take in the sight. It was like a small taste of what his heart wanted. She had tucked the jersey inside her skirt, which only made the outfit cuter on her. He felt pride on watching ______ wearing it. That could be his girl. He wanted her to be his girl. “Better?”

She gazed back at him with shiny eyes, and he became all soft on the inside. The effect she had on him was overpowering at times. “Much better,” she admitted with a chuckle. “Thank you so much, Iwa.”

“Hey, my pleasure.” And oh man, it was indeed.

AS usual spoiler alert:

1. Lena planning on the bachelorette party seems like a good deal + Andrea what on earth did you do? + this romance honestly is tiring + bruh Andrea speaking spanish *swoons* + Andrea is so getting William killed + oh so we’re making this about William (i know he dies so surprises there) + Brainy my baby😍 + wives™️ + oh boy that escalated so quickly + what’s wrong with Brainy? :( + Nxyly should just shoot him😂 + Esme is the cutest child ever + Dansen moms are so cute + noo Brainy :( my baby + Jesse’s acting is brilliant + Nia is his wallpaper😍

It wasn’t a terrible episode by any means but my god the amount of Lex & Nxyly on this episode it’s a bummer. I’m not happy William died, i wasn’t interested in him becoming a love interest to Kara but we passed that luckily, the way they wrote him in this second half of the season was more acceptable so there’s that, i hate how Kara is the main character yet the show doesn’t make it about her as much as it should but you know there’s nothing to do about that at this point.
