Listen. I am just an endless death note AU generator. Currently I have the following going on:

Coffee shop AU but starting slightly before Light becomes Kira: Light meets this mysterious stranger who was tired/felt like adding weirdness to the world one morning and didn't choose a false name for his coffee orders, and it becomes this sort of running joke/game between them with Light trying to figure out his name or various lore about him and L finding this extremely amusing. But then Light finds the death note. L joins the case. Neither of them know this about each other yet, and as Light and L begin to suspect each other they're still keeping up the charade of casual friendship and a half-joking challenge while it takes on a whole additional dimension and they're catching feelings. Hell on earth for poor Light. They have chess sex at one point.

Death Note Randall and Hopkirk (deceased) AU: my personal favorite but extremely niche. Basically ghost L but. a Specific Flavor. Not only do I steal the rahd lore, but there are some Details (muahaha etc.) You don't need to have seen rahd to enjoy it. Here's a playlist but you could not get me to post the actual fic yet under torture

Modern day AU but the main way that this effects the plot is that Light is majorly into competitive Microsoft Excel and L is secretly the world champion that he's had an intense rivalry with ever since Light started.

Another ghost L thing but in this one L possesses Light's body after his death and now they have to Share

Similar to those time travel AUs where Light and/or L gets sent back and have to decide whether to make different decisions except it's the task force (excluding L and Light) and they have to decide whether to try to prove it and arrest him or try to help him and whether they should let Light know about this or if that would be a death sentence. Lots of problem solving, lots of decision making, Light gets to unmask <3 (This one was inspired by (but different from) a tumblr post I should add a link to if I can find it)

One where I mess with the lore so that Light is transforming into a shinigami due to the number of people he has killed (symbolism etc) but this starts right before his confinement so he has to try to hide it and it generally messes up his plans horribly because. Imagine being under constant observation by the world's greatest detective but you're literally transforming into a death god while trying to hide that anything is unusual about you at all.

"Characters watch the show" but it's characters get transported to this world and exposed to modern fandom. This takes place during the warehouse so Light's alive but Mikami is there. They're just yoinked out of there. There is another version of this that takes place during Yotsuba Arc instead.

Along similar-ish lines, a blatantly comedic fic where L reads explicit rpf about L and Kira in front of Light at one point during Yotsuba Arc and Light gets really mad about it leading to intense debate of what Kira would be like in bed, among other things. Keep in mind Light does not have his memories but he does have strong opinions on the topic, for some mysterious reason that Light tries really hard to justify to himself

And more. I love making things worse for my poor little meow meow specifically because I understand his brand of problem solving on a spiritual level and I like to watch it play out. But also because pushing Light to his extremes and seeing how much it takes for him to snap is like crack to me. Mentally putting this guy in saw traps.

Do you see any commonalities between Harry and Louis' post show playlists? Would love to know your view.

Too much? Can I just go for both pre- and post-show playlists, because Harry's post-show ones have mainly been songs from bandmembers and location-specific ones.

The list of songs that have popped up on both their playlists or during shows this year is now 18 tracks long (including Can't Help Falling In Love that a couple sang in the crowd during Harry's which was definitely out of his hands lol but it is one of Harry's favorite songs and his response was amazing I couldn't not include that)

On a similar note, Louis had The Strokes - The Adults Are Talking as a post show song (Rio on may 27th - dressed in some bluegreen striped laurel hell sidenote it were the backpack style days idk either), the song besides Take On Me that As It Was has been heavily compared to.

When Harry's preshow had one too many songs from Louis' change over playlist. If you missed it, I believe it's a list of songs considered to be exit songs, and they kept deleting and adding songs as tour went on. Also the playlist went private for a while after the fandom discovered it, but not after adding a few songs and then Louis following jdelf on instagram that same day. Thinking about that time I asked twitter whether they thought a screenshot of Louis' change over playlist was Harry's or Louis', and a lot of people thinking it was Harrys.

Louis wore a shirt with names of songs that include "dancing" (Let's Dance, Dance the night away, Get Up and Dance, Loose yourself to Dance) at the time the preshow playlist of Harry's show did just that, including Everybody Dance, Let's Dance (album), Dancing in the Moonlight, Dancing on the Ceiling, I Wanna Dance With Somebody (they were all played within 1 hr window). here.

They have both played their own X-factor audition songs. Harry also played Rebecca Fergusons audition song - the one that ended up on One Directions youtube and brought along a lot of theories yk that one (Womack & Womack - Teardrops)

They both play songs that are related to the location they're at, most obviously the the Theme From New York, New York in New York, but also songs from artists from that country, songs with a special history in that specific city, etc.

Returning artists with multiple songs across their shows include Amy Winehouse, Bill Withers, Bob Marley, David Bowie, Elton John, Kings Of Leon, Queen, Radiohead, Talking Heads, Two Door Cinema Club, Vampire Weekend.

They've both played a bunch of songs that they sang on stage in 1D days, obviously just One Direction songs but also songs they covered or just messed around with on stage I guess you can call it that (Louis').

This isn't a serious one but I did laugh my larrie ass off when after Harry's Amsterdam show we were met with Louis' Amsterdam post-show song call me a moldy dirtbag baby.

I think they both have used their preshows to in some way ease us into sounds of their new albums

And last but definitely not least: when Harry performed I Will Survive on the 22nd of April 2022, that same day, hours before, Louis' exit song said Disco Medley too with Bee Gees - Stayin' Alive, and after his show (on April 23rd European time - this to say was after his own show but it could've been before or after the Coachella show), I Will Survive was added to the playlist (+Play That Funky Music).

A good is-Tom-Normal-About-That-Media? meter is how I deal with music related to that specific media. Unfortunately in OFMD's case it's ticking in the "Brain Rotted Pile of Clown Meat" zone, because I basically went through every song ever made by Nina Simone just to try and guess which two songs are playing in s2.

So you know what??? I'm laying out my predictions here, if any of these starts playing then I'm owed a Jenkins thumbs up or something like that. Idk. I spent four hours of my life on this, I need a hug. I threw the dice and this is what came out.

Yd please talk to me!" But Ed just keeps on walking. It's a romantic comedy staple and we need to have one of these.

Semi-Competent!Stede being the breadwinner of the family is one of my favourite hcs. Ed is really tired of The Pirate Life™️ and I bet he'd fucking love to be a trophy wife, man spent his whole life being the scourge of the seven seas, give him a break for christs sake.

This fucking fandom

Ah fuck i can’t even fucking get sick in peace!! Just when i allow myself to rest a bit from posting shit happens and i find myself coming back here to rant or whatever i should call it at this point.

So the other day i was writing a post as a follow-up to this post : 

But i just deleted it, i was like uh yeah maybe i’m being a bit too harsh.. WRONG!! I knew this fucking fandom didn’t deserve no pity, my bad i should’ve just posted it. 

So in my follow-up deleted post i was saying how i didn’t want anyone to come to me with that bullshit excuse of “But we’re streaming, we’re basically working hard for those achievements to happen so why won’t Letter be about Army since we work hard for him” and honestly this is where the entitlement comes from. Some people believe that just because they stream, buy and post that means they have all the rights of ownership over the members, yes OWNERSHIP.

I then carried on by explaining how not everyone who fought to get Jimin on top wasn’t necessarily because they love him but for some they just wanted one member of BTS to be on top out of pettiness towards other fandoms and they needed to flex, didn’t matter which member as long as it’s a BTS member who will keep BTS’s name superior, and it so happened to be Jimin this time. 

Now you may wonder why tf am i bringing up a post i actually ending up deleting or actually didn’t even post? Well with Yoongi’s upcoming release.. I don’t even need to say it now do i? I guess you’re pretty much getting what i’m trying to say but let me just put words out here. 

I’m not here to talk about how close Yoongi’s release is to Jimin’s, this is something they probably went over with each other and with the company it has nothing to do with me or us or anyone else can’t really say much about it but what i can talk about is Army’s hypocrisy. When i posted about Yoongi’s D-Day announcement i clearly mentioned that I personally along with some other Army i know would either try to find or make a Yoonmin focused playlist, since Jimin promo period was cut short, we still wanted to keep pushing it while still streaming for Yoongi. 

Now what is happening is mfrs who are dropping Jimin completely to focus solely on Yoongi. When Smf pt2 dropped and the whole FACE album released, playlists were still encouraging streams for Smoke Sprite and On the street, we were still trying to keep the boys at higher ranks doing the effort to do a proper streaming for Jimin all while not dropping any other member. 

Now those people do realize that Yoongi will have his album trending from now till June, while Jimin won’t necessarily be able to still keep up with a proper promotion schedule because that would be interfering with Yoongi’s release, and fucktards couldn’t even bother keeping up with streaming or at least think about a Yoonmin playlist too. It infuriates me how for me despite being Jikook biased i’m still willing to do as much effort for Yoongi as i did with Jimin because i’m OT7 after all but assholes out there pretending to be OT7 yet became completely blinded. 

And for some fucking reason Jimin or Jikook biased Army (not solos) are all so excited for D-Day and preparing to stream for both, so tell me why tf can’t other Army do the same thing? Was messing with that one other fandom all it was for them? “Let’s get Jimin that #1 to piss them off” is that it? He worked his ass off to share something very personal with us, shared his struggles, a deep and dark part of himself just for Army to treat it as a threat to other idols and fandoms? 

I swear this motherfucking fandom is toxic and unhealthy, as Joon said “You changed” Aka you fucking suck! I don’t even know how to put anymore words i’m just trying to recover but God fucking dammit!

No, I'm not writing fic about myself for thirty-one days (oh lord), let me explain.

So I have been in fandom for almost 30 years, and in the past decade I have run into a lot of problems with being doxxed, (extremely) bad fandom friends/experiences and basically the joy being sucked out of it. I now have two fandoms plus more that I really enjoy, and I started a Tumblr again to, well, enjoy them. Writing used to come as naturally to me as breathing, but I simply stopped because I had such a visceral fear of fandom as a whole. Like, I talk to my therapist about it, it's so bad. You may have noticed @spurious sending me multiple asks for fic based on memes - this has been an exercise in getting my brain back into a fic writing mindset and it has been working.

So, I decided I wanted to do Fictober, but I was not jiving with the prompts. Nothing against them, but my brain is so jammed up, I seem to only be resonating with certain prompts or songs and so, @spurious lovingly made me my own prompt list with those she knew I could work with. I am forever thankful.

and i just think this is such a good representation of esmund's eternal devotion to irene causing his reincarnation to fall inlove with her over and over again. doomed soulmates my beloved.

but for what it is i really like from a place of love. innocently falling inlove before being subjected to The Horrors™ and the terrifying wedding imagery ties it all together. werewolf wedding you will always be famous.

i think the song speaks for itself but just. god it makes me so sad whenever i apply it to dante. his story and its themes of being abandonment and slowly finding a new family always reduces me to tears.

the slow marching reflecting how dante had to join the guards academy after fleeing his village... being called a "birthday kid" when he has no family to celebrate growing older with... the chorus repeating that it's his fault that they're gone... the only thing keeping him going being the idea of having a large family and actually getting that when he meets aphmau... im a mess.

anyway this song gives me such major katelyn/jefforey vibes. burning yourself with flames in order to protect yourself and feeling the grief of someone who cared for you, loved you, dying. the memories of him haunting her because she missed his funeral. garroth ro'meave you will be dealt with

for me the song just conjures up the image of aaron having to bury lily and his son in the snow after the village massacre, and flowers blooming from her final resting place. and then carrying memories of with his family with him and he continues to live on because he has to. the angst writes itself man.

When Klaus wakes up in a cage on a frozen iceball planet, his luck seems to be going sour. Fortunately for the werewolf, a blonde with the power to get them out of this mess lands in his lap, literally. Working together seems the only way to escape, but Tyler isn't about to let them go so easily.

Okay so this is my Least Well Received fic, which i 100% anticipated and i am not mad about at all. I am very grateful that one anon and Ravyn like this sucker! It's just a very silly sci-fi prison escape romp where the only people Klaus and Caroline have to depend on are each other while mind bonded, and it really narrowed the focus on my story telling. It's also written from Klaus' perspective, which is NOT my forte, so i really have to work to get into his head. So i really like this one because it's a challenge for me and we don't get a lot of sci-fi in the fandom.

Klaus and Caroline visit a museum in Athens and have Opinions about art while feeling out the depth of their new relationship. There is one (1) lunch date and one (1) theft of a painting.

This was the continuation of the shortest story i've ever written (didn't know i had it in me) and it is nothing but pure fluff. This is the universe of happily ever afters. I cannot imagine writing any kind of great conflict here, it is the happy place, it is where i go when i need them to be stupidly in love and touring the world together.

Okay so this is what happens what i make a playlist of Florence + the Machine and Hozier and then listen to for two months straight? I write about Klaus the fae prince being trapped in a church, and Damon the psycho priest murdering women, and Caroline and Klaus playing Uno and having sex in confessionals. LISTEN. LISTEN. We are ALL AWARE I am going to hell and if you're here it's for the good company. xD I had such fun writing this one for the exchange and basically cackled to myself gleefully the whole time. It has a LOT of my Author Motifs like cooking/enjoying food, niche history lessons, and Carenzo besties harassment.

Selfish Rituals (Klaroline, 28k)

Caroline's well organized holiday plans are going great until they're upended by Elena's brutal supernatural murder. Kol's brother arriving in town is a pleasant distraction from trying to catch her killer, but Caroline's not going to let a pair of dimples divert her (much) as the bodies keep piling up. When a dangerous ritual ends up giving her something more than answers, she has to decide what she wants, and how far she's willing to go to get it.

Okay this was for a secret santa some friends and i did, and it came out GREAT. Klaus as some ancient god of the hunt, witch!Caroline wrapped up in a mystery who-done-it murder of Elena and her beaus, a Holiday Fair with skating, it is just fluff and cute and murder and fluff. Did i mention murder? Also murder. Trying to keep the plot going while weaving in the mystery was a fun challenge and while it may have come out a little basic, i think it was a fun first attempt at the subject, and my character interactions on this one are REALLY FUN. Caroline is bestie roommates with Enzo, which means boyfriend Kol is over All The Time, which they will deal with bc he cooks, and watching them trying to lure Bonnie into a polycule is a show worth the price of admission. Truly love this one.

When Tyler Lockwood--Federal Agent and Caroline's ex-boyfriend--walked into the Mikaelson family bar, Caroline knew it was going to be the beginning of a really obnoxious joke. He wasn't content to let the past rest though, and soon what he thinks he knows blows the dust off the skeletons they had long buried.

THIS IS MY FAVORITE THING. I love this fic so much. I had so much fun planning and writing this one with @cupcakemolotov sitting on my shoulder like the best little devil. Like okay first of all, i do not write out of chronological order? I am so linear. So the fact that this fic ended up being going backward through Klaus and Caroline's relationship? Wild, unprecedented. Second, the plot. My prompts from Ravyn were "Caroline burying Tyler in the Lockwood cellar" and "Caroline closing down a bar." THOSE WERE THE PROMPTS. And i turned them into THAT. I went nuts, i went HOG WILD. I invented so much stuff in the middle!! Love that for me. Anyways i just love this fic, i felt like i was really creative and fun, and this au has a lot going for it.

my favorite or a defining moment

Rhett's proposal after Frank's death. It's got humorous banter in an inappropriate setting, it's got angst, it's got Rhett letting his mask slip, it's got passion and Scarlett failing to understand that she's sexually attracted to Rhett or that she's actually in love with him, it's got him treating her like an asshole to prevent her from seeing she has emotional power over him. A grabbag of the ship.

They have some pretty messed up moments but honestly it's a ship that is all about them being terrible in a way that's both compatible and self-destructive.

currently reading: do fanfictions count? ;) I haven't picked up a book in ... months. Oh my. Jumping between different fanfics and fandoms atm. Detroit Become Human (d'uh), Cyberpunk 2077, Dragon Age and Mass Effect for the most part.

The last book I read was a manga version of Pride and Prejudice if I remember correctly.

Last song: Panic Switch by Silversun Pickups. The song is part of a Spotify playlist I often listen to when I'm writing.

Last series: I usually jump from series to series depending on my mood. Last series would be: Queer as Folk, Outlander, Virgin River, Afterlife.

Last movie: last movie I put on in the background while I was doing something else was probably Frozen or Moana. Last movie I put on an was actually paying attention to it would be Detroit Evolution from Octopunk Media. I just can't get enough of those two.

sweet/savory/spicy: oh no, so I have to choose? I'll probably go for sweet then. I love crêpes suzette and cinnamon rolls, so...

currently working on: way too many things for brain to handle. Wips for basically everything I'm interested in. Hey! Do you have an analysis about Holiday? Is holiday actually about Louis' male interest? I really wanted to hear your thoughts

I don't think I've talked about it at all because it leaked when I was on holiday in spain and i got hurt love that for me (and yes Thanks To Louis Tomlinson which idk if that makes it even worse, probably) which is really funny to me and me only but yeah point is I wasn't really on the blog a lot around the time to talk about the song much.

I know of some analyses/thoughts tho here - here - here. So I'm just gonna build on that so read that first.

My thoughts are it's heavily Arctic Monkeys inspired (again), both in terms of sound and the theme as well, thinking of songs like A Certain Romance, or Red Light Indicates Doors Are Secured, where the singer is narrating a drunk night out.

So to answer your "Is holiday actually about Louis' male interest?" I think there's something really funny here, because here I am thinking A Certain Romance inspired this song and it (parallels Holiday and-) goes:

Well, oh, they might wear classic Reeboks Or knackered Converse, or tracky bottoms tucked in socks But all of that's what the point is not The point's that there in't no romance around there

and then goes on to narrate this night out with basically british assholes but they're his british assholes and you can't be mad at them for being drunk fucking dickheads somehow there's something endearing about it and we let it, and you don't get it bc you're not from here and there haven't been your friends since childhood, yk? yeah. kinda. And that's what I See in Holiday too. It's in the moment, while going out, some idiot operating on liquid courage and that's probably Louis himself, but it's also Louis' friends, but it's also that other idiot in the club that recognized the boybander, and it might as well also be the one that you have been or the one that's been eyeing you from across the dancefloor and you're in a drunk flirting mess (it's not gracious but ah whatever to be alive).

And I'm totally biased here because this idea is coming from before this song was leaked but from a time A Certain Romance was in some of his playlists and I always took this song a bit.. ironically I guess? Maybe? Is that the word? Pointed? Like... this fandom does have a bigass tendency to put a Romance stamp on everything he does every move he makes being driven by romantic love, and somehow I feel like there's a flake in here, whether that's done unconsciously or very much fueled, it's part of the point somewhere. Maybe I'm giving her too much credit, I have a tendency to do this lol, but do I think this song has layers, and there's some inspo coming from here. I see it in Silver Tongues and Common People and maybe some more songs on FITF too, like that ambiguity, the part where you can totally place these songs in a romantic setting if you want to but the more laid on thicc takeaway is comradery and just having a soft spot for your idiotic drunk nights out and whoever is like him in that sense, whoever is with him there in that feeling, and yeah that might as well be his love interest as well but that's not the point anyway. But I guess that's more generally the case for his songwriting, for Holiday specifically it's less Oh but I adore him anyway lol more just observing this dude idiot being a dumbdumb on a night out and that's kinda it? And it's probably full of all kinda references we don't know about but the general concept seems to be he's just narrating this (type of) dude existing. Can be himself. Can be his friend. Can be an annoying stranger. It's oh so very A Certain Romance. And of course its all ok to carry on that way.

Stranger Things fic:

nowhere is the dreamer or the misfit so alone - I actually have most of chapter 5 written and know how the chapter will end. I'm just stuck on the scene where Max goes over to Dustin's house. I'm still not sure how close to canon I want to play it. One day I'll rewatch Stranger Things and get back to this, but I think I need to practice writing mystery and action some more so I can really do justice to bringing my plans for this fic to life

The Dragon's Bride - So in the covid brain fog I forgot where this fic was going last year. I wasn't keeping detailed notes about it so I'm just kind of trying to recreate what I want to do with this before I post anything. I have been working on the second chapter though. Overall I want it to have soft Ghibli film romance vibes

JJBA fic:

Houses of the Holy - The orphanage chapter is so hard to write. Why did I think writing out Caesar's whole life story was a good idea??? He doesn't even meet Lisa Lisa until chapter 3! Making up backstory from scratch is haaaaard. My hubris knows no bounds.

had to fall in love - ah band au my beloved. I fucked up the timeline and haven't felt like fixing it yet. I might just pretend I meant to do that all along and just keep writing. Then I could fix all the dates and ages at the end. This fic is a hot mess but It's fun.

Wonders Never Cease - this sci fi au is even more of a hot mess. God I'm a disaster. Don't look at me.

Unpublished WIPs/ideas (also JJBA):

Hotel CA - Caejose pwp set in a world where vampires have overrun the world. Caesar is the leader of a little group of humans taking shelter in an old hotel with a crumbling sign. Joseph sneaks in to Caesar's suite disguised as a woman in the hopes of seducing Caesar into a false sense of security before he reveals his identity. Of course Caesar knows it's him immediately and is curious to see how far Joseph is willing to take his ruse.

Bring 'Em Back Alive - a post-PHF five-years-later fix it endgame Fugiomis fic where Fugo and Mista team up on a murder mystery mission in a Passione-run nightclub where the ghosts of their shared past are disturbed and they fall in love with each other. I'm having trouble juggling the OCs for this one. I think I have to write a more immediate post-PHF fic to establish the villains' motivation better. The playlist is already up on my fandom Spotify though I may change some of the songs around.

i wanna be a slut - this one is named after a Pansy Divison song. It's basically just modern no stands au poly!mista fic where not all Bucci gang is dating each other but Mista ends up either dating or friends with benefits with all of them. Not much angst just Mista gets to be happy and carefree and have a lot of love in his life.

idk what to call it yet I've been calling it figure drawing au or michelangelo nudes - Modern au, no stands. After Mista gets fired from his latest job because his manager hates him, Fugo offers to pay him in cash if he agrees to model for a project Fugo is working on. It's all so Pretty Woman that Mista kinda can't help but fall for Fugo, who is gorgeous and sensitive and brilliant, but Fugo is such a sad lil rich boy he can't imagine Mista wants him for anything more than his money. Mista's just so handsome and so good at living in the moment defying expectations to do whatever the fuck he wants; he's everything Fugo wishes he could be. I just want to write the Fumis romcom of my dreams where Fugo is a PhD student and polymath good at different forms of art and science and Mista's a himbo. I deserve this.

another college au draft where Mista and Narancia are roommates who don't realize they're pretty much dating. Giorno invites all his friends to a house party at his mudad's house. Narancia gets drunk and finally makes a move on Fugo, who gets offended Nara seems to be trying to cheat on Mista with him. Idk this one might never see the light of day tbh but you know I love the Torture Dance Trio so maybe

Phantasmagoria - Fugio gothic horror au where Fugo's parents give him to Dio for mentorship and Fugo quickly learns Dio doesn't actually practice law all that much and his house is fucked up. He meets a cute boy he only ever sees wandering the halls at night

Uh the draft is called Gothic Horror Pillar Men in my drafts but it's more of a bodice ripper type story. It's about Joseph being locked in his grandma's estate awaiting his upcoming marriage and interacting with the strange men who prowl the courtyard looking for something at night. Not sure if I'll ever finish this one but idk. The wedding rings play into it a lot but they're not poison in this au or like inserted into Joseph's body.
