for the record I have:
A swap AU, Essenceswap, that has a real 100k fic about it and will get a fangame and ending someday
An alphynecentric Fate crossover AU, Fate/SOUL, that also has a real fic that's nearly half done. Alphys summons the Spear of Justice as her guardian in the Moon Cell Holy Grail war, and together they fight for their lives, fall in probably doomed love, befriend some favorite weird ass closeted high schoolers they probably are going to have to battle to the death, and uncover a fascist plot that they must prevent from claiming the Grail at all costs. Also what if I fixed fate canon, with a hammer,
A fell AU (nameless) where Asgore crafted a crueler underground through RESETs to face the no mercy human only for Chara to get reincarnated first to stop the bullshit (also flowey AND UNDYNE get to be heroes due to the whole swap from protagonist to antagonist and vice versa) (also there's Doc, the world's best evil woman who put metal claws on her real claws like scourge from warrior cats and thinks it makes her cool and intimidating)
A Pokemon crossover AU (tentatively named Your Courage Will Pull Us Through) where monsters are the missing evolutionary link between humans and Pokemon and the evil Team SOUL wants to imprison them in pokeballs
A traveller crossover AU aka shlock Undertale (tentatively named Voyages of the Starship Ebott) where monsters have lost their home planet and been driven out of their star system by the evil Third Imperium. To find it and bring it back to where it belongs, an ancient and powerful monster starship has set out on a mission bearing the estranged, tentatively allied King and Queen of monsters, two psionically skilled skeletons, a monster supersoldier created by the Imperium and on the run after stealing herself from the unethical Project DT (she also spent some time finding herself with the space wolf furry antifa pirates), a once-normal scientist who got in over her head spying on Project DT, a robotic galaxywide social media influencer who secretly isn't a sapient AI, and a normal human kid who can talk to ghosts. The ghosts have been muttering the name of a forgotten star in a barren, distant, system, but can the TMS Ebott make it across a galaxy at war to find out what waits in orbit around Chara? Find out next week!
An alphynecentric magical girl AU based on a genderqueer reinterpretation of genre classics like Sailor Moon. When the famous magical girl known as Girl Indigo falls from the sky with a ruined eye, her ordinary high school classmate takes up the responsibility of taking her place while she heals. With a magical dragon mask that lets her transform into Girl Golden, Alphys learns on the fly how to be a magical girl from her hero, while Undyne just might find out what it's like to be a normal high schooler with a crush on the smartest girl in school... (Also Papyrus is a genderqueer magical girl, Asriel is an evil magical girl, and Chara Frisk and Kris are the cutest little ominous shapeshifting animal guides youve ever seen.)
A storyshift-at-home AU (tentatively titled Poemshift) with slightly different swaps (instead of Mettaton and Napstablook being the fallen children, Undyne and Alphys are and there's a secondary set of swaps that includes a bunch of ghosts and minibosses and shopkeepers and stuff that I haven't quite decided on yet) (also Toriel is a scientist and Asgore a guard, why would it be the other way around). No idea really what to say about this one as it's my newest concept but im like the ceo of swapping characters so you have to trust me anyway
A SBURB AU (SCAVE) basically everyone's a kickass god of mental issues and they have anime battles with chess guys. what do you want from me. don't look at me. we're scraping the bottom of the barrel. go home

Talltale: K guys, I need some help and advice! Y’all got any design ideas for Talltale’s fallen humans? I plan on sketching them today! It can be a good way of practicing out different body types and maybe even different races!
IMPORTANT NOTE: DUE TO TUMBLR BEING WEIRD TO ME SPECIFICALLY FOR SOME REASON, I CANNOT REPLY TO COMMENTS. BUT, IF YOU DO COMMENT SOME IDEAS AND ADVICE- I WILL SEE IT AND BE GRATEFUL FOR IT! I JUST CANNOT REPLY TO IT SADLY…
These are all the ideas that are done so far, and it’s also important to note that each human formed a bond with someone in the AU (Undyne is the exception, due to story reasons she can’t have bonded with any of them)-
~~Jess 🧡~~ (don’t need help with)
Is male, is pretty much the most developed FH of the 6, has a completed design I’m using, fully developed personality… (mean and cold due to past experiences, think Talltale Frisk in the beginning of the story just much more extreme), was the first to die from CC, and formed a bond with Gaster.
~~Lucy💛~~ (need semi help with)
Is female, has a completed design but I may change it? Has a fully developed personality… (brash, takes no bull, does not care if the truth hurts your feelings, yet is fiercely loyal), didn’t actually die from CC but was killed indirectly or possibly could have been killed by Undyne, don’t know who she bonded with YET but I know she was able to bond with some animals due to her living on a farm.
~~(NAMELESS CURRENTLY)💚~~
Is male, design not made, has a fully developed personality… (Kind and forgiving, wants to get through to even the meanest to improve them as people), despite being half developed he is surprisingly pretty important to the lore, was the last to die to CC, bonded with CC of all people (which is lore important, he continues to be kind to CC like Frisk does in pacifist causing CC to get attached like in pacifist as well! However, during a moment the Fallen Human was trying to understand them, Crimson became meaner than ever to CC and manipulated them into killing him like the others. It left a huge impact on CC, and is probably why CC is simultaneously more aggressive when Frisk falls yet is also why it’s so easy for Frisk to get through to them by their acts of kindness!).
~~(Alice)🩵~~
Is female, design not made, no developed personality, idk what order CC killed her or if CC was the one to kill her, has a hearing aid, don’t know who she bonded with, and is one of the younger fallen humans.
~~(NAMELESS CURRENTLY)💙~~
Is female, design not made, no developed personality, idk what order CC killed her or if CC was the one to kill her, and don’t know who she bonded with.
~~(NAMELESS CURRENTLY)💜~~
Is non binary, design not made, no developed personality, idk what order CC killed them, don’t know who they bonded with, and I had an idea to make them sorta similar to Frisk because perseverance is very similar to determination
I made designs for Jess and Lucy a WHILE ago, so don’t mind the cringiness here lol
ALSO, don’t mind Jess’ left arm, he has a fricking motorcycle but I never was able to draw it in his sketch at the time due to my old tablet breaking lol

Old Art Part 3: Horror Edition
as the title suggests, this one is just a couple horror/monster drawings. idk if there are enough to reach the image limit, especially when i used up two of them in the first old art post, but i think maybe the concerning stuff should be on its own just in case someone has a tag blocked so they can't see the non-concerning stuff. anyway.
1.
Tumblr media
this may need some context. billy la bufanda was a weird clip-art-looking scarf that sang in spanish. he was a big thing for a while in my spanish class. iirc what he's saying is a quote from the music video. anyway.
2.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
concept sketches of that one drawing in the original post. this is what the full creature would've looked like. considering the detail on the final product i don't think you can blame me for not drawing the whole thing. if i had to name two inspirations just going off what it reminds me of, i'd say omega flowey from undertale and migi from parasyte.
3.
Tumblr media
this isn't anything specific actually. return of the "m" wing in any case. definitely a generic cryptid-style thing though.
4.
Tumblr media
this isn't really horror aside from the eyes covered in skin that's stretching. it was kind of a conceptual giant monster. i wouldn't say kaiju because it doesn't represent anything. i'll go into more detail on the next images because they're the result of the idea.
5.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
a completely nameless creature. not entirely convinced that the one on the left was finished. you can see i kept the tail from the previous one, but it has a 1998 (god)zilla torso, some kind of sea monster mouth with an eye at the back of it, and what i can only assume to be one of six planned scorpion legs. looking at it i can see why i only did one. anyway i don't remember what i was thinking at the time. if i had to reverse engineer it i can see some influence from clover, ghidorah, and some 1998 (god)zilla as well as toho godzilla. maybe even undyne from undertale and venom but i'm not so confident about those ones. i might just be mentally cutting and pasting different parts from different characters and gluing them together to resemble what's in the pictures.
anyway that's it, see you in a sec for part 4.

This was a drawing/painting I finished in January and didn't realized I hadn't posted it here yet ups😅
This is kind of a massive crossover of some characters and fandoms that I happen to like a lot (but I have like 100 more) and it started all in November I think. I was sooooo bored in class but don't get me wrong it's not that I am too smart I don't get a freaking thing at University and so waste my time drawing smth instead of actually paying attention😅 I began drawing a simple sketch of Cardinal Copia with the white suit but I really wanted to draw Waluigi and Mettaton then and I just added them and like every day I added a character and after some month it looked like this haha😂 But it was so much fun😍
Are there any characters on this crossover fan art that you also like? 😁

uwaa i love this au! Did Unnamed help out Shifter Paps with how he grew? Or did Shifter Paps already knew everything? Like did SPaps instantly have a love for spaghetti and puzzles, or was that something Unnamed brought up along the way as SPaps "grew"?
Tysm!!^^ and nameless didn’t…papyrus found his current personality all on his own! Of course, there was the OG papy’s personality there originally as a base, that’s how shifters work, but after 20 years I can confidently say that papyrus is himself, thoroughly.
His love for cooking came from Undyne, like in canon, and his love for puzzles he found on his own. Turns out he was just a total nerd all along, lmao. I mean, I imagine that waiting for your death in a cold underground cave sucks ass. The wonders of Mechanical magic, technical wizardry, and deadly-but-absolutely-fair puzzles probably became a hyperfixation for him as soon as he found out about it lol.
The OG paps in this au was very young when he died. Before his death, his life was a survival game. He was truly a sweet, caring, loving kid, but never really got much of a chance to be one. Shifter paps isn’t a copy of him, but he did get SOME traits from him that didn’t become lost as the years went by, such as his loud voice and love for action figures….Some little things like that. You could say that these would just be some things they’d have in common anyway, if they were two living separate entities.
A question very similar to this has been asked before, so Here, this post explains this a lot better! ;p

Neither Frisk or Kris could replace the other,
Undertale is a story about nostalgia, and the ghosts that refuse to move on from it. Important is that the Dreemurr family wants to project unto Frisk, as best friend, child, duty, and oneself. It’s also about the effects said inability to move on have on the underground, as it turns Frisk into an object of desire, hated enemy, and tool to elevate oneself. Frisk, as someone new to the underground, doesn’t have any desire to keep the underground’s depressive rules of thought, and instead has to fight to establish their own way of doing things.
Deltarune is only at chapter 2, but already established is the complicated web of social politics that Hometown has. Highlights include: the various Holiday-Dreemurr divorces (Dess, whatever Carol is in, Asgore and Rudy’s best gay friends affair, Toriel and Asgore, everyone Asriel left heartbroken, Noelle and Kris’s divorced childhood best friends thing, Kris’s situation [Most of these are related, but seem separate enough events that they’ll count as one]), the school survival-of-the-fittest, alphys and undyne’s new positions, the ghost house, catty and bratty’s please-just-kiss-already rivalry, and sans just arrived in town and yet everyone wants to involve him already. Kris is positioned just enough that they can get involved, and probably will be involved anyways, into this drama, and untangling it will probably be key to the plot of Deltarune. Relationships seem key in this type of thing.
Frisk, even in a theoretical post-pacifist ending where they reached Kris’s age living with Toriel, lacks the history to create something that resembles the plot of Deltarune. They might make friends with Susie in the same way, but their relationships with Noelle? Ralsei? The rest of the cast? The nice if distant star girl of Hometown, they might consider her someone to keep safe and innocent. The Asriel look-alike, who knows more than he lets on, with a questionable belief system, who Frisk accepts more than questions. So much of Kris’s relationships are shaped by being Asriel’s plus one, and that’s not something Frisk can emulate.
Kris might be able to pull through the Underground without killing anyone, but the ghosts of the underground would consume them. To pass through would require fighting their mom, their dad, something that Kris seems very uninclined to do [They’re something of a pushover and momma’s kid, gifting Asgore’s flowers to Toriel, and seemingly rely on their mom to get up in the mornings]. Even if Kris got past them, the undergrounds’ torrid history with humanity would mess-up someone as insecure with theirs as Kris. Similarly with the amalgamates, since Kris can presumably recognize most of the monsters that make them up, it would be deeply traumatizing for them. Faced against Flowey/Asriel would be uh… complicated, because Kris also has a tendency to project their brother unto the nameless [One of Onion’s naming options is Asriel], and I don’t know how they’d take to being called a replacement sibling. I think for the while, Kris would be too busy geeking out of over the Angel of Hyperdeath form to actually fight against Asriel, and probably agrees more with his vein of escapism. I think Kris carries too much of the Dreemurr fatal flaw of nostalgia to properly refute it and break the barrier.
I was just thinking about Undertale/Deltarune crossovers and how due to the different natures of the protagonists they could never tell the same story...

Okay so I made a list of all the representation in Undertale and honestly this is why (one of the many reasons) its such a good game
Canon wlw couple (Alphys and Undyne)
Woman scientist (who is still allowed to be feminine (and likes anime)) (Alphys)
Gender nonconforming guy (Mettaton)
Protagonist with no confirmed gender (Frisk)
Lore important character with no confirmed gender (Chara)
Character who canonically uses they/them pronouns (Napstablook)
Background guy character who wants to (and gets to) wear a dress (Nameless(?) Lion)
Possible aro character (Papyrus)
Accurate representation of anxiety and guilt (as well as other mental health issues) (Alphys (and Sans))
Badass woman character who likes to fight but is still allowed to be a girl (Undyne)
Guy characters who are allowed to be soft/not Traditionally Mascluline (Asgore and Papyrus)
There's probably more that I'm forgetting, let me know if theres something I should add!

Fangs, Tupperware, and Canines
Snip... snip... snip. Not one single stray bud or dying leaf would escape his shears. Papyrus, the Great and Terrible Papyrus, Lieutenant Captain of the Royal Guard, scowled in concentration as he trimmed the rose bush before him. It was a captain’s duty to maintain the flowerbeds around the station, for though they did not produce any actual sustenance, the roses were a symbol of loyalty to the Royal Family, and thus must be maintained with as much care as any plant in the fields or orchards. The sharp blade cut away at any offending sign of decay or hasty growth, mercilessly silencing them as brutally as the Lieutenant Captain would any lawbreaker. His hands were steady, showing no sign of the inner rage he was struggling to contain. Sans was late, again. If that no good, lazy, shit piece of-... no. Sans would have some reason, he was sure of it. There was always some reason, after all. Not always a good one, but good enough to scrape him by. Hmph. He glared at the rosebush as if it were at fault for his brother’s idiocy. Predictably, the rose bush showed no reaction, nor had Papyrus expected it to. He caught the sound of familiar footsteps approaching, that was Sans at last. But... not alone? Sans had no friends... who? Hand at his side, ready to summon a weapon of bone at the slightest instant, he stood and turned to await the arrival of his brother and whoever was with him. Upon seeing who it was, he relaxed. Doggo, a member of the Canine Unite. Loyal as any dog, though stupid and vicious as one. Papyrus smirked slightly. Stupid was good when it came to the dogs. They didn’t get any funny ideas. Unfortunately, Doggo himself smelled very strongly of smoke and dog biscuits as well as the very faint scent of whisky. One more person was with them. Funnily enough this Monster was being dragged by Sans, presumably against their will, and did not look even remotely happy about their circumstances. Papyrus noted that Doggo was looking equally annoyed and was also being forced along against his will. How very odd, Sans didn’t usually exert his will unless he really felt he needed to, and considering how damned lazy he was, that hardly ever happened. The other Monster was a cat monster, much like that radio host from Nebelheim, though this one was smaller and very clearly a child. Their fur was lighter grey marked by darker grey streaks. “I expect you have a very good reason for all of...this?” said Papyrus shortly, unable to find a suitable word to describe the ludicrous scene in front of him as he gestured to the three monsters before him. Somehow, Sans’ grin was almost gleeful, something that Papyrus wanted to smack him for, but as tempting as it was he managed to resist the impulse. “Sorry Boss, I was on my way to find ya. And I ran into these idiots near the orchards.” And saying this he gave both cat monster and Doggo a little shake, causing both to bare their teeth at him, which only made him snicker. It was absolute bullshit, to use the common phrase. Sans didn’t walk anywhere if he could help it. Papyrus’ interest in this was growing with each moment. “Doggo here found a little free experience and thought he’d have some fun. Normally I wouldn’t care, but Doggo is in the Guard, ain’t he? I seem’ ta remember some kinda rule against that. Can’t have anyone under your command breakin’ the rules, can we?” Sans was definitely up to something. He didn’t care a bit about rules or regulations. But technically, he was correct. There was a rule about members of the guard taking advantage of their position to prey on the weak for XP. After all, someone needed to keep some kind of order. For a long moment, Papyrus was silent, trying to decide what to do with the lot of them. Because Sans had actively saved this child, he couldn’t simply be thrown out or imprisoned, there was procedure to think of. And of course, Doggo couldn’t be let off easy, though his punishment would be light since he was a valuable asset to the guard. Just enough to make an example. “You, child. Who are you? Where is your family? Parental authorities? Striped shirt? Well?” The cat-monster stared up at him, clearly bewildered, and after a moment where Papyrus’s impatience was beginning to boil, he finally shrugged and shook his head. With a snort, and reaching the very end of his patience, Papyrus simply used his magic to Check the child’s stats. “?????” * HP: 14/20 * AT: 0   DEF: 0 * Weapon: Teeth & Claws * Doesn’t know where or who he is, but is determined to survive. A resilient soul, despite the lack of parents or a home. * Has been hungry for a while. Oh. Papyrus paused, his scowl deepening as he thought hard. That changed things. He tapped the side of his skull thoughtfully as he pondered out loud. “Well then, we’ll of course have to inform Captain Undyne as per regulation. And figure out what to do with you until some more permanent solution can be found.” “I could eat him?” offered Doggo. It was only a joke, even Papyrus could tell that, though perhaps a poorly timed one considering how much trouble the stupid monster was already in. But in the few seconds that it took for the comment to register, the cat monster had already broken free from Sans’ grip and leapt upon Doggo, biting him hard with his sharp fangs. “OWOWOHOW!!!” screeched the guard dog as he tried to shake off his would-be assailant. Sans was laughing, doubling over as his belly and shoulders shook from the force of his amusement. “Well shit, Doggo. Looks like you’re the one who’s gonna get eaten! Little kitten here has fangs after all!” With a growl of feigned annoyance, though he too was resisting the urge to laugh, Papyrus reached forward and grabbed the nameless monster by the scruff of his neck and pulled him away from Doggo, forcing him to release his toothy hold in order to turn around and bite Papyrus instead. “Stop that,” ordered the Lieutenant Captain sharply and his captive stilled in fear. “It won’t help anyway, I’m as resilient as bone.” He smirked in San’s direction as his brother’s face went blank with surprise before breaking into an even wider grin. “We’ll have to call you something, and since you seem to be well equipped with them, we’ll call you Fang. Don’t bite any more guards unless you have no other choice, its against the law.” Thrusting Fang down into a chair he made his way over to a little refrigerator sitting in the corner, from this he removed a tupperware of his famous lasagna. It was still hot, as the fridge was one of the custom made ones from Nebelheim labs and kept anything inside well heated. This he placed down firmly in front of Fang, adding a fork and a napkin for good measure. Injuries and lost identities were no excuse for bad manners. Doggo was scowling at the kid, “You’re feeding him?” He said with a sort of plaintive and complaining whine in his voice. “But he bit me.” “Yes he did, and well deserved too. Besides, he’s hungry and the best remedy is my famous-” he paused as there was a tug on his sleeve. Turning to look he found the boy offering him the now empty tupperware with a hopeful expression. Wordlessly Papyrus retrieved another from the fridge and that too was quickly devoured. Honestly he wasn’t at all certain what to make of the expression the child was giving him now, something kind of like adoration. He wasn’t sure he liked it, but he found it difficult to fault anyone who had such refined taste enough for his lasagna. “Ahem,” he cleared his throat, it was time to get back on track. “He can stay in the spare bedroom for a week or so, until things are sorted out and some other arrangement can be made. Papyrus took great pleasure in the fact that both Doggo and Sans had sour expressions now. Doggo still nursing the bite marks from the kid’s teeth, and Sans looking like he wished he’d dumped the kid in a ditch before sharing the house with someone else. “Now,” he said, addressing the pair. “I seem to recall that both of you are still on duty, and the day isn’t nearly over. Get back to your patrols or I’ll be sending reports to Undyne containing your death certificates.” With a click of his teeth in a wide grin and a mocking salute, Sans disappeared with a final “Aye Boss, whatever you say.” Doggo sullenly gave a more proper salute and slunk off out the door. Papyrus noted that the canine’s uniform was wrinkled and the shirt wasn’t tucked in, not to mention that it also had several small tears where the material had worn thin. Humph. It was a travesty. He’d have to order an official inspection one of these days.

Hello!! I am back again with a few more asks that has been laying around since 2 weeks ago!! And this time, I let the Time Brothers answer some of these HAHAHAH.
FIRST || PREVIOUS || NEXT
ASKS UNDER CUT.
Tumblr media
@industrialmenace Past: nah.  Past: I showered hot water everyday just to practice burning in hell. Future: These are sand. Past: Sand were hot.
Tumblr media
@humankk Surpriseeee Mettaton is more popular than Undyne, and close to Toriel’s. Haha I just checked the unofficial popularity poll in the wiki. BUT!! This is a really good idea that I haven’t thought of!! (which I really should www but one person can only generates so much ideas) Thank you www
Does that mean I should draw more Jerry??? In the background??? Please have mercy on me.
Tumblr media
@mmangaboi cha cha real smooth— (っ=ↀωↀ=) っ maybe~~  Oh, I am sure it has nothing to do with what is going to come next.
Tumblr media
@snas-elatrednu Ahh, well, Future’s speech doesn’t do that, sadly. There’s no reason for this, unless somebody comes up with a fair theory. I just don’t want to burn my brain cells in constructing future tense sentences. I already destroyed 3/4 of my brain cells while trying to do Past’s speech alone. ( x ͟ʖ x )
Tumblr media
Past: The forbidden one. Future: What is a mee-mee? Past: Not mi-mi, meem. Future: May-may. What it is? Past: Please stop pronouncing it as separate words.
Tumblr media
@kittygogosparkle Past: Good for you, I was not hugging you. Future: Oh, do you know what is a Man-man, good sir? Past: That was not the answer to this question.
Tumblr media
@snas-elatrednu MORE THAN THE WORDS OF COUNT IN OXFORD DICTIONARY. Though, recently I slowly resolve to a newer trend of Bricks.
Tumblr media
@rupi-arts I saw!! www thank you so much for liking him??? I don’t get why people like him honestly, because he is a sans??? Thank you ahwhwhhasjdaskd once again thank you!!

{ ooc } Can I just say “thank you guys” for all the positive feedback I got from you all on Yumiko there-? Because seeing some of you getting smitten with her so fast got me feeling all warm and fuzzy in my inside parts.
Tumblr media
As thanks, how about a not so teensy bit of trivia behind my creation process for her? Because guess what I am not done rambling about Kōta’s feral but doting mom. Dropping it all under the cut for length!
Goroawase! The Japanese language has an entire pun system dedicated to matching certain numbers together to create phrases, and you can find them in everything from phone numbers and advertisements to dates on the calendar. For Yumiko’s birthday, June 26 was not chosen at random, because with a minor tweak, the date itself can be read as “rotenburo-no-hi.” Translation? Open-air bath day. What was her zanpakutō’s special ability again? Steam!
Yūgiri! The zanpakutō shares its name with a few Japanese warships down to the Kanji, but relevantly I named it after a Fire Emblem Fates character. Hailing from Hoshido, Reina is a Kinshi Knight who serves Queen Mikoto. She is a bloodthirsty warrior who’s eager to indulge in the morbid pleasures of the battlefield, but in sharp contrast to her sadistic side, she also happens to be quite the motherly sort towards her allies! Reina was her English-localized name, but in the original Japanese release? It’s Yūgiri.
Steam! Reading Yūgiri as “Evening Mist,” I figured it would be fun if Yumiko had a zanpakutō power that leaned on the meaning, so I went hard with the steam concept since I don’t think there’s a Bleach character that works with such a power to an explicit extent? As for her ultimate attack, Jyōki Bakusatsu (蒸汽爆炸), the Chinese characters are pulled from the mythical Steam Pokémon Volcanion’s signature move “Steam Eruption” – while it works serviceably enough as Kanji, turns out Pokémon moves tend to use Katakana more over Kanji or Hiragana for their naming, in this case reading as “Steam Burst.” Who knew! I wonder if her own Pokémon team would consist of Fire and Water types...
Sukeban! I’m quite fond of delinquent/boss girl-type characters and realized Bleach had a distinct lack of exactly that sort of archetype amidst its cast of badass ladies, and the only real “delinquent” presence in the series were all the nameless banchō bullies Ichigo put up with. From there, my brain turned to the 11th Division and its own distinct lack of ladies; aside from Yachiru Kusajishi who is too adorable for words, and Retsu/Yachiru Unohana as Division founder and first Kenpachi, it’s a bit of a sausage fest. Isn’t that the kind of squad where a delinquent girl would be a perfect fit though? So, looking at Kōtarō’s mom who raised him a dangerous place like Kusajishi and taught him how to fight with a sword, I thought “Hey, but what if...” until I settled on Yumiko’s physical appearance!
Bleach itself! Regardless of however one may feel about some elements of the novels, I just plain love world-building (because it’s not like we’ve got much else to gush or theorize about since the series proper ended). I welcome further attempts to bring in elements from anime filler and other media into the main canon with Kubo’s seal of approval, because god damn I love me some added cohesion towards a bigger and more developed world. I’ve actually got full-on written notes with my own ideas at doing the same; including the premise of the Sealed Sword Frenzy OVA (plus elements of Spirits Are Always With You) as part of Yumiko’s own backstory, and headcanoning the OVA’s villain Baishin as a former Captain and Kenpachi, is just the tippy top of the iceberg of expanded concepts I jotted down for my own personal pleasure and use!
Undertale! To add to the above, one of my big inspirations in creating her was Undyne the Undying, the boss fight from the game’s Genocide route, hence Yumiko’s character theme being “Battle Against a True Hero.” Just as the Determination-fuelled Undyne defied her own death to take on the murder-happy player character in order to protect the world, leading to the hardest boss battle in Undertale shy of Sans himself, I like to play out a similar battle in my head between Yumiko and Baishin after he turned into a crazed shinigami-zanpakutō fusion. She would’ve been 64th to his kill count of seated officers, but—at the cost of her own powers—she would be the one to succeed in pushing him back and forcing him to flee to the world of the living. Yumiko doesn’t just got it going on; she’s a genuine, fiercely determined badass, and a true hero... though she’s one of Kōta’s biggest heroes above all else. Sidenote, I can’t even begin to tell you how many times I listened to BAaTH on loop for the past week, from the original to remixes and covers with lyrics, just to get a proper feel for Yumiko’s past self-
Kōtarō himself! I wanted to expand his own backstory a bit and really build on the woman who raised him, but going full ham in drawing more parallels between him and Yumiko than I initially counted on was so much fun. Similar doting and goofy personas towards those they care about! Parallels in their zanpakutō elements! Her teaching him how to fight like she used to! Wholesomeness just warms my heart so friggin’ much.

Laboratory
Tumblr media
Frisk rushed over the bridge across a lava flooded ravine below.  Sweltering heat threatened to rob his remaining strength.  Once he had reached the other side, Frisk stopped to catch his breath and glanced back.  Undyne's pace had slowed considerably.  She was making her way across the bridge but the heat was clearly getting to her.  Being a fish in full metal armor, she took a toll from the burning air.  Still, she forced herself on.  "Armor . . . so . . . hot," she mumbled.
Frisk backed away as Undyne continued toward him.  Only a moment later, she had reached Frisk’s side of the bridge but collapsed on dry ground a few feet from the child.  Frisk’s eyes darted over the immediate area.  She would die if he left her here.  He didn’t want that.  The child noticed a water cooler a few yards off and dashed for it.  He swiped a cup then clicked down on the little switch.  When the cup was full, Frisk reluctantly approached Undyne and dumped the water on her scaly, blue head.  As soon as the contents of the cup had gone, Frisk quickly backed away and sat down to wait.  He managed to catch his breath.  His body still ached from the hits he had taken, but since there wasn't any physical damage the pain was fading.
Undyne finally groaned.  She slowly lifted herself from the dry ground.  Frisk jumped to his feet and backed away further.  Undyne stared at him for a moment.  Frisk did his best to give her a smile.  She didn't speak to him.  She simply turned and walked away.  The child watched her cross the bridge and continue back toward Waterfall.  Frisk sighed then glanced to the stand where Sans had been.  The skeleton was gone.  Frisk went back to the water cooler to get another cup of water.  He was worn out and needed this chance to rest.  As he leaned against the cooler to drink from the cup, he felt a little strength coming back to him.  He thought about why Undyne had paused when he asked to be friends.  He had managed to get her attention but why.  Frisk finished the cup of water and reached to fill it again.  He hadn't realized how thirsty he was.
As he took another drink, Frisk’s attention turned toward a large building ahead.  There was a sign above the door that read, Lab.  He felt like he was getting closer to the end.  He knew that he had to reach the king's castle and travel through it.  He also knew that Asgore Dreemurr, the monster king, would be waiting for him.  By now, Frisk had heard a lot about the king.  But the name Asgore didn't sound as if it belonged to a monster as nice as other monsters described.  Frisk had a horrible feeling, like he was walking toward a horrendous death.  He frowned.  He had to make it out somehow.  He wanted to see his parents again.  Frisk almost dropped the cup when a yellow light flashed in front of him.  His line of thought was gone immediately.
Frisk reached to fill his cup with water again.  If anything, his determination would get him through this.  He was beginning to realize that he was practically unstoppable.  However the problem with having power to go back, was having to fail to begin with.  As far as Frisk was aware, he'd have to die every time.  That was something he couldn’t deal with forever . . . the pain.  Frisk thoughts were getting frightening.  He could keep living as long as he was determined enough, but he'd also experience the agony of every failure on the way.  Frisk shook his head.  He'd have to keep trying his hardest not to die.  He'd need to be more alert and ready.
"If you really want that, keep fighting for it," said a dull voice.
Frisk actually did drop the cup this time.  It hit the ground, spilling water on dry, cracked dirt.  He looked around but no one was there.  "No," he said out loud.  "I'm not going to do that anymore!"  Frisk didn't see anyone but he could hear the voice clearly.
"Why not?  Don’t you want to make it out alive?"
Frisk responded to it again, half assuming he was still arguing with himself somehow.  "I do, but I don't want to kill any more just to make my journey easier," he said.  Maybe the Underground had a magic spell that made this possible.  He didn’t know for sure.  Either way it was strange and uncomfortable to be talking to a nameless voice.
"You should listen to the flower," the voice replied.  "He might be cruel, but he's got the right idea."
What was this?  Was Frisk having an audible conversation with his darker side?  "Who are you?" he asked the voice.
"The sensible side of your conscience telling you that you aren't going to make it out unless you are willing to fight."  Frisk sighed and glanced down.  The voice continued.  "The monsters are fighting you for their freedom, why can't you do the same?  They aren't hesitating to kill you.  You should protect yourself better."
"Why should I protect myself if I can go back to try again if I fail?"
A pause followed.  "You're making a mistake," said the voice.
"Maybe I am, but I'll know really soon, won't I?"  Frisk continued toward the entrance of the lab.  His dark hair was a frizzy mess after the confrontation with Undyne.  He wasn’t expecting the doors to slide open automatically when he reached it.  Frisk peeked into a shadowed room on the other side.  He snuck in to look around.  The door shut behind him, leaving the child in near darkness.  Frisk stopped.  He couldn’t see anything.  At least it was refreshingly cool inside.  As his eyes adjusted, he noticed a faint light against the left wall.  He cautiously moved toward it and found a large screen mounted on the wall.  Displayed on it was an image of him.  Frisk stepped right then left.  The image followed his movements.  He turned around to look up at the ceiling.  There had to be a camera up there, but he couldn’t see it in the dark.  Frisk ran a hand through his messy hair as he realized what this meant.
Someone was watching him.  How long though?  Since he had entered the Underground?  Since he stepped into this lab?  Maybe they knew what he did to Toriel.  Frisk stared at the screen in fear for several seconds before letting out a sigh.  No, that couldn't be possible.  Toriel had kept the door to the Ruins locked.  Feeling somewhat safer for the moment, Frisk slowly moved deeper into the dark lab.  He bumped into a wooden desk, accidentally knocking off a stack of paper.  He tried to catch them, sending several fluttering over the floor before the rest hit with a smack.  Frisk cringed.  He stepped around the desk and continued more cautiously this time.  He heard the swish of a sliding door further in.  Frisk froze.  Someone had come in, mumbling something about seeds.  The child frantically searched for a place to hide.
The monster shuffled around a moment then flicked on the lights.  Bright white light flooded the large room before Frisk could successfully conceal himself.  He squinted as he turned and saw a short, lizard-like monster wearing a lab coat.  She noticed Frisk standing in the room and gasped.  Her green eyes nervously darted around the room.  "Oh my goodness!  I didn't expect you to show up so soon!  I haven't showered, the lab's all messy, and . . ."
“Oh, I don't mind," said Frisk.  “My room at home is probably just as messy.”
The monster paused to calm herself down.  She stepped closer and waved.  "Um . . . Hiya."  She smiled.  "I'm Dr. Alphys.  I'm Asgore's royal scientist!”
Frisk smiled back.  "Nice to meet you."
“And don’t worry!  I'm . . . not one of the bad guys," she added.  "Actually, since you stepped out of the Ruins, I've um . . ."  She glanced away nervously, her cheeks blushing a little.  "Been observing your journey through my console.  Your fights . . . your friendships . . . everything!"  Frisk's smile faded to a surprised stare.  Alphys laughed a bit.  "I was originally going to stop you, but . . . watching someone on a screen really makes you root for them.  So, uh . . . now I want to help you!"
Frisk tilted his head a little.  “Really?”
Alphys nodded.  "Yeah!  With my knowledge, I could easily guide you through Hotland and the Core!"
"I thought I was going to the castle.  Where’s that?"
"Oh, the castle is in the center of the capital passed Hotland and the Core," said Alphys.  "I can help you get there safely so . . . don't worry!  I know a way right to Asgore's castle, no problem."
           Frisk smiled.  "Okay, cool."
Alphys paused to glance away.  "Well . . . actually, um . . . there's just a tiny issue.  A long time ago, I made a robot named Mettaton.  Originally I built him to be an entertainment robot.  Uh, you know, like a robotic TV star or something.  Anyway . . ."  Alphys reluctantly took another step toward Frisk.  "Recently I decided to make him more useful.  You know, just some small, practical adjustments."  Frisk nodded in understanding.  "Like um . . . anti-human combat features?"
           Frisk stepped back.  "What?"
Alphys started sweating and tapped her clawed fingers together.  "Of course when I saw you coming, I immediately decided I have to remove those features!"  She glanced away again.  "Unfortunately, I may have made a teensy mistake while doing so . . . and um . . ."  She paused to take a deep breath before blurting out the rest.  "Now he's an unstoppable killing machine with a thirst for human blood!"  Alphys laughed nervously.  "But, um, hopefully we won't run into him, right?"
“Uh . . . yeah.”  Frisk nodded slowly.  A loud thud echoed through the lab and shook the floor beneath them.
Alphys gasped.  "Oh no!"  She and Frisk frantically looked around as several following thuds shook the room.
A mechanical voice echoed through the walls.  "Oh yes!" it said.  The left wall blew inward and a large rectangular robot entered the lab with a mic in one hand.
          “We’re in trouble,” muttered Alphys.

i was thinking about papyrus today (as one does) and remembered that one scene in the beginning of snowdin where sans asks you to play along papyrus’ puzzles because “he’s been kind of down lately”. and i thought what if deltarune papyrus is inside his house because he’s like at the same point of the timeline and he’s not feeling great? but seeing a human in this universe won’t cheer him up as much
Boy howdy do I love writing essays about discussing Papyrus, which is made possible by viewers like you. Thank you!
Long post ahead, if you don’t want to read all of it, then feel free to look at this diagram, instead!
Tumblr media
I am very excited to meet Papyrus all over again, and wrote a lot about the differences in their worlds to compare them and say that, basically, I agree with you.
In UNDERTALE, Papyrus spends a lot of time in his house, as he states himself when leading you there on the Papyrus date. But there’s also evidence of him having quite a few projects outside. He has several traps set up in the woods, and at least one snow sculpture, and realistically painted a rock to look like a wooden bridge. And that’s only in the areas we can see!!
In the long run, though, most of those are meaningless (or fun!) tasks he assigned to himself. The majority of traps for humans could easily be walked around or through. He might even have known that. His super-mega-huge trap of death on the bridge? A human hasn’t fallen in decades, he has no reason to take such extreme (and… kind of impractical?) precautions. (Or does he..? Another theory for another day.) I think those traps are more like excuses to not get bored in the dull little town of Snowdin; and if a human gets stuck in one, awesome!!! It’ll only help him.
Before we fell down, though, I think Papyrus not only became focused on his lack of friends, but also ran out of stuff to do. His computer was left open on a social media site, which he presumably was scrolling through before he came out to meet Sans in the beginning. Spending a lot of time online, especially on a single social media site, can make you feel pretty bad, especially if that becomes your main “activity” of the day (many of us have done this or may be doing it now). If he’s done everything he can think of, perfected all of his plans, and then got into a routine of making sure they stay that way, every day, with few new things… it’s not super great for your person. At least he can hang out with the few friends that he does have, right? Those guys are fun.
I do think Papyrus in deltarune isn’t feeling great, but more so because he starts off with nothing to do. Human-catching traps aren’t necessary. The town is already colorful and beautiful. There’s not a ridiculously long stone slab to realistically paint as wood. The opportunity to drive a car and feel the wind and sun is already available to him. He’s new to town, so he doesn’t have any friends, and didn’t go to a costume party. Undyne doesn’t know the science teacher, much less the new residents. Flowey doesn’t exist. Doggo is nowhere in sight (… actually, none of the dogs are?). The annoying dog is presumably creating a video game in the library’s computer room, undisturbed.
Everyone in Hometown is happy, friends with each other, knows the Dreemurrs, and is so snug and suffocatingly waving-in-the-yard friendly that the concept of trying to make my own place in the community when I can’t even say I work in my family’s new grocery store is terrifying. There’s no way I could fit in, and if I stay inside and avoid everyone for too long, then it’s a never-ending cycle of being too late to join them. Heck, even Catti, the super edgy rebellion teen, has friends and works in the diner.
I mean, going off of my home, Hometown as a whole probably shuts down at 10 PM; unless it’s a midsummer Friday night, then it shuts down at 11:30. It’s not like there’s a variety of activities to do there. We might think the place is quirky and cute and fun to live in because the cop yells at pedestrians and blocks traffic (how funny!), or because a mascot has war chants (he seems fun!), or even because there’s a park where a nameless squid… person… thing… lives (it’s our friend Onion-San!!!). But imagine being there every day, with little variety outside of Mr. Holiday getting sick, Bratty saying Catti got fur in her coffee, or the star kid athlete moving to college.
To me, there is very little appeal to the prospect of living in Hometown (if it were real, that is—but you guys know what I mean). And I… don’t really want do anything? Like, at all? (Collateral damage from growing up here, I’m sure, but still.) But I think I went off on a tangent. My end point is, if Papyrus got bored in Snowdin, despite his friends and increasingly meaningless and time-consuming tasks he could come up with, in a fantasy world where monsters didn’t have a choice in making the best of it, imagine how boring it’d be to live in Hometown, where their imaginations have the same limits and restrictions as our real-life society does. I can’t go out in the woods and construct deadly traps that everyone knows to avoid because I can and will be fined with endangerment, intent to harm, trespassing, etc.
This could also go into a whole other thing about why deltarune is so different and why Kris is the only human (and monster prejudices seem to exist against humans?), but I’m not sure seeing Kris would cheer him up, either. Oh, are we going to hang out with him to be his friend?! That would be really cool, if it weren’t for the fact that Sans all but forces us to go. At least in UNDERTALE, the arrival of a human has the potential to rocket him through the ranks. In Deltarune, the human is already there and doesn’t mean a thing.
So. Yeah. I’m sure Papyrus is pretty miserable in deltarune, and he doesn’t have many ways to fix that problem. This also gives me a neat drawing idea, don’t let me forget.
Also!!! If you’re interested in seeing more deltarune-specific content, I have another side-blog at @singing-ralsei

>:3c "What I'm fighting for" and "Bounty on their head" DS Dreammare
Tumblr media
prompt : Bounty On Their Head, What I’m fighting for
Fandom: Dreamswap by @onebizarrekai
Characters and pairing: DS Nightmare, DS Dream, Undyne from a nameless AU,  DS Dreammare
Warnings: swearing
Word count: 1,521
Summary: Nightmare is caught after fifty years of running.
Nightmare had no idea how far Dream was going to take trying to find him until he woke up in a cell, hands shackled above his head, his legs and ankles tied down to the wall as well in a no-war AU that he’d been staying in for less than a week. He’d been traveling from world to world, Kevin by his side and miserable and heartbroken over his childhood friend’s utter betrayal of what they’d been created to… No. That wasn’t why he was heartbroken and hurt. What really stung was the haughty expression on the other’s face as Dream coldly told him that Nightmare had no place in the perfect version of his multiverse.
The guardian of Negativity had dealt with a lot of shit in his life… But he’d never expected that Dream of all people would betray him so utterly. He should have known better. Soul destiny bond thing be damned, it was clear that he was cursed to a miserable and lonely fucking existence. That was fine.  He could.. He could be alone for the rest of his miserable existence, being hunted down in any world that was somewhere close to fucking decent to live in. He groaned a little, and he was pretty sure that he was going to have a bad bruise forming on the back of his head.
The Undyne of this world came strolling in, wearing a sensible uniform and a strange golden pin. It was a circle with a letter J and a letter R on it. “So, you’re the most wanted criminal on Justice Reign’s list… You sure as shit don’t look like much - and you’ve got next to no LV, too… Just what the hell did you do to piss off Lord Von Licht?”
“Who… What the fuck are you talking about? What is Justice reigns? Who is this Von Licked f… Person?” Nightmare wanted to curse and swear - but with something interfering with his magic, talking was the only way out of this. Which he wasn’t great at, unless he wanted to piss someone off. Which he didn’t right now.
“Lord Dream Von Licht? He is the leader of Justice Reigns - a group dedicated to bringing peace and positivity to the multiverse.” The Undyne responded, staring at him as if he’d grown three heads. Her genuine confusion was disconcerting.
Wait. Lord who von whatsit? Since when did they have a last name? Is that what Dream’s been up to in the fifty or so years that Nightmare’s been frantically trying to hide from his other half in dodgy as hell timelines? He would have started laughing - Lord Von Licht sounded like a pompous asshole - someone who wore an unnecessary amount of ruffles and spoke with a snooty as hell accent. “Yeaaah. I recognize the name Dream… My crime? If you ask him, it’s because my fucking existence causes pain and mayhem throughout the stars damned multiverse. I didn’t ask to be made.” Nightmare hissed back, tears blurring his eye sockets as he desperately tried to keep himself together. Turning into a fucking crybaby wasn’t going to do him any good whatsoever. Undynes didn’t like weakness, from his experience. He realized he was shaking a little, but at least he wasn’t crying anymore. Probably.
“Why do you fight against Justice Reigns, then?” She pressed, frowning a little and he could dimly sense that she was uncomfortable and disconcerted.
“I… I try to fight for my own right to exist. I just… J-Just want to live.” Nightmare stuttered out after a moment, feeling incredibly vulnerable and stupid. He needed to escape this fucking place. He tested the restraints holding him in place, jolting a little bit and  hissing in surprise as pain lanced through his body, his eye lights briefly going out at how intensely painful it was.
“JR does have a no mercy policy when it comes to certain kinds of criminals- but given how little LV you have, it is unlikely that you are a murderer. Your life will be spared. I have seen that they do have rehabilitation centers for those who show that they are truly willing to change, just that they have grown up or were forced into awful circumstances by their AU…” The Undyne responded, her voice kinder and warmer.
A small, armless lizard-like monster came running up, their eyes huge “C-captain Undyne! L-Lord Von Licht is here to see the p-prisoner we’ve captured personally! He’s headed here right now.”
The Undyne sighed and nodded, saying quietly “I’m not quite sure what you’ve done to earn the top spot, but there’s a good chance that he doesn’t-” She abruptly stopped speaking, her eyes going wide as… As -
Nightmare recognized the feeling of his other half’s magic, and Dream appeared in a flash of golden magic, his wings (which were new) flared out impressively behind himself. He walked through the door - his wings apparently intangible and made purely of magic. “Thank you for contacting my people, Captain. May I have the key to his cell, please?”
“Of-Of course. May I please have his name, for the records of his arrest, sir?” She responded respectfully, fumbling with something in her pockets before producing a small silver key - and three brass keys that matched the material his cuffs were made out of - down to the runic carvings that Nightmare could see on them.
“Of course. Nightmare Von Licht… My wayward mate. I’ve been searching for him for the better part of fifty years and have been tremendously worried about him. He’s the guardian of negativity and can cause quite a lot of chaos… Most of it unintentionally.” Dream responded with a quiet sigh, shaking his head a little as he sent Nightmare an exasperated but fond smile that froze him to the spot.
“I… Y… W… You asshole! You tried… You tried to… To…” Nightmare was so upset and furious he could barely get the words out of his mouth “THE LAST TIME THAT WE TALKED YOU TRIED TO KILL ME, YOU SMUG ASSHOLE! Don’t you dare play the victim!”
Dream sighed, rubbing the bridge of his nose with a couple of fingers before responding “I do admit our last conversation… Or rather, argument could have gone better. But I have been running ragged trying to find you, Moonlight. To try to apologize for hurting you and scaring you so badly that you felt like hiding from me for the rest of our lives was the only reasonable option.” The other’s voice was all soft and warm and his… His emotions felt genuinely regretful, concerned and happy to see him.
Fuck. Fuck. Where did Dream come off being all nice and… And genuinely apologetic and - was this a trap? Nightmare didn’t want to think so… And it wasn’t as if he had much of a choice. He was literally trapped in a cell, unable to flee. “Well, getting me out of these damn chains would be a good fucking start, Sunshine. And I sure as hell hope that you don’t think that I’m going to be forgiving you right off the bat.” Nightmare huffed, glowering at the other, suspicious and hopeful. He’d missed Dream more than he’d realized…
Dream - or Lord Von Licht as the other was apparently calling himself nowadays stepped into the cell he’d been stuck in, first healing his injuries, a sad if slightly amused murmur of “Must you always do things the hard way, love?”
“Hey, I have no idea how the fuck I got injured. The last thing I remembered was climbing up into the tree I’d been sleeping in for the past couple of days to sleep.” Nightmare protested, scowling a little. Embarrassingly enough, the very first thing he did as soon as he was free of all of the cuffs - instead of winding up and punching the other square in the face for all of the shit the smug fucker had put him through… Instead, Nightmare flung himself at Dream, latching onto the other, hugging him tightly, burying his face into the other’s chest (when the hell had Dream gotten so tall?) and grumbling “I… I’ve missed you so much, you high-handed asshole.”
“And I missed you too, my stubborn, tree-climbing idiot.” Dream responded fondly, wrapping an arm around Nightmare’s waist as he handed the keys over, pressing a fond kiss to the top of his head. “I’m going to bring you home, alright? I am going to assume that you’ve got nothing stashed in that tree of yours.”
“Of course not. Everything I own I keep in my inventory. Or I’m wearing.” The negative spirit grumbled “I… Okay. I suppose we should go to your home…”
“What do you mean by that?” Dream prodded lightly, wrapping his other arm around Nightmare’s waist, nuzzling him a little.
“…You’re my home…” Nightmare muttered under his breath, flushing bright purple, embarrassed and wishing he hadn’t said that.
Dream’s eye lights turned briefly into stars however, and he grinned brightly “Oh… Nightlight… I’ve missed you terribly as well.” He kissed Nightmare fondly on the teeth at that before teleporting them to his headquarters.
