headcanon that even though percy and annabeth are borderline celebrities in their universe. and have saved the world countless of times. they still have side quests that no one fucking knows about. any and all side comments about that one weekend annabeth spent in prison or that one time percy faked of his own death in nebraska is enough to give their friends and family whiplash.

Hogle Zoo is an AZA accredited facility, opening up a new area 3 acre area called "Wild Utah" to feature various native Utah species. 3 of those animals are going to be orphaned cougar cubs that were rescued and unable to survive in the wild on their own.
Note that 2 of these cubs have shortened ears and tails because of frostbite. They were rescued in Nebraska where the weather conditions were severe, and again, these cubs were unequipped to handle it on their own.
This would be a very positive story about giving orphaned cubs a second chance at a good place where they will receive all the care that they need... or so you would think.
Instead, multiple people on the comments were asserting that they were just going to prisons, one even going so far as to say that it would've been better to just let them die.
Wonderful. Nothing says "I love animals" than explicitly saying that they're better off dead than at an accredited zoo. Again, you will note that 2 of the 3 were suffering things like frostbite when they were rescued. There is nothing humane about letting animals that are within your power to help die like that.
I cannot, and will never, understand the "logic" behind this kind of mindset. Yes, baby orphaned animals die in nature all the time. No, we cannot save them all. But for those we can help... why not help them? And why is a life well cared for at an accredited zoo somehow worse for them than suffering a slow and painful death from starvation and exposure?
These animals do not have the same concepts of freedom vs. prison like we do. All they knew was that their mother is gone, and they were cold and starving.
Yes, bad or less than ideal zoos exist. Hogle Zoo is not one of them. Zoos and aquariums are not universally prisons, and if you think that, then let me just ask... what kind of prisons have you been to!? Seriously, all of the animals I've had the privilege to work with eat better than I do, and are treated vastly better than human prisoners are. How privileged must you be to think that all zoos and prisons are equivalent to one another!
Here's the reality: the zoological industry is a complex, nuanced thing that is ever improving and expanding. We're not stuck in the 1970s like you are. Stop judging animal welfare based on vibes, and stop drinking the PETA, HSUS et al. kool aid, because they're lying to you.

wait could you elaborate on the snl transphobia sketch thing? i don’t use twitter and haven’t watched snl since i was a teenager so i’m out of the loop.
yeah of course. i'll do a bit of a deep dive for usefulness, but it's a very dark and upsetting story so be warned this is going to discuss transphobia, transphobic violence, sexual violence and murder.
the post was about this meme:
Tumblr media
This is late comedian Norm Macdonald, reporting on the murder of Brandon Teena for the Weekend Update segment.
Brandon Teena was a transgender man from Nebraska. He passed so successfully that most of his social circle did not know he wasn't cis. His own girlfriend, Lana Tisdel, did not know he was trans until he was jailed for check forging and she found him in the female section when bailing him out. Word got out after this.
As a result, two men in his life -- John L. Lotter and Marvin "Tom" Nissen -- assaulted him at a Christmas party a few days later. They forced Brandon to expose his genitals to Lana, against both his and Lana's will. They then took Brandon away and gang raped him. Brandon escaped and Lana convinced him to report the rape, but the rape kit was lost and the police were expectedly hostile due to his gender.
Lotter and Nissen got wind of the report and hunted Brandon down and murdered him, along with his roommate Lisa Lambert and Lana's sister's boyfriend, Phillip DeVine. Lotter was executed and Nissen sentenced to life in prison for their crimes. Brandon, only 21 years old at the time of his death on New Year's Eve 1993, was buried under his dead name with an epitaph describing him as a "daughter" and "sister."
The SNL joke comes from Weekend Update, a segment that recounts the news of the week with a humorous slant. This meme comes from a February 1996 episode, "reporting" on the sentencing of Nissen and Lotter. Macdonald's full joke is as follows:
"And finally, in Falls City, Nebraska, John Lotter has been sentenced to death for attempting to kill three people in what prosecutors called a plot to silence a cross-dressing female who had accused him of rape. Now, this might strike some viewers as harsh, but I believe everyone involved in this story should die."
Naturally, this was heinous for a number of reasons. Even in the homophobia and transphobia of the 90s, community organizations spoke up in outrage over this. The Transexual Menace threatened to picket if SNL didn't apologize. NBC even admitted the joke was inappropriate at the time.
But still, this joke also aired almost 30 years ago, before a lot of us were even born (I myself was just a baby). While Teena's murder (along with Matthew Shepard's) was a watershed moment for the gay rights movement in America, it's not as widely discussed today. But we have a responsibility to not perpetuate this joke that was castigated even in its time. It strikes me as our responsibility to do right by our elders who held NBC to account for this and not pass this meme around and rehabilitate it unintentionally. Maybe that's overdramatic. I don't think so.

Anti-Trans Legislation: Feb 25-Mar 3 in Review
The following bills were introduced:
Two schooling bills, Florida S1320 and H1223, were pre-filed.
Georgia HB653, an under-18 healthcare ban, was introduced.
Iowa HSB208, a school-based bathroom bill, was introduced and passed in its subcommittee.
Iowa HB482, a school-based bathroom bill, was introduced and referred to the House Judiciary Committee.
Iowa HSB214, an under-18 healthcare ban, was introduced and had a House subcommittee hearing.
Iowa SSB1197, an under-18 healthcare ban, was introduced and had a subcommittee meeting.
Iowa HJR8 was introduced and referred to the House Judiciary Committee. This is a joint resolution attacking marriage.
Iowa HSB222, a schooling/parental rights bill, was introduced and referred to the House Education Committee yesterday.
Maine LD930, a sports ban bill that specifically targets trans girls, was introduced and referred to the Joint Judiciary Committee.
Missouri HB1332, a tax bill that would punish institutions for providing gender-affirming healthcare, was introduced and read.
Missouri HB1364, a drag ban bill, was introduced and read for a second time.
Ohio HB68, a "SAFE" act, was introduced and referred to the House Public Health Policy Committee.
Texas HB2862 and HB3147 were filed. These prison bills would prohibit incarcerated trans and gender diverse folks from being housed in facilities consistent with their gender identity.
The following bills progressed:
Bathroom bills: (A bathroom bill denies access to public restrooms by gender or trans identity. They increase danger without making anyone any safer and have even prompted attacks on cis and trans people alike. Many national health and anti-sexual assault organizations oppose these bills.)
Arizona SB1040, a school-based bathroom bill, passed in the Senate and crossed over to the House.
Arkansas SB270, which would make it “criminal indecency with a child” for trans folks to use bathrooms consistent with their gender identity, was re-referred to the Senate Judiciary Committee.
Idaho SB1100, a school-based bathroom bill, had a second reading and was filed for a third reading.
Idaho S1016, which already passed in the Senate, had its first reading in the House and was scheduled for a second reading.
Iowa SF335, a school-based bathroom bill, passed committee and renumbered as SF482.
Heathcare bills: (Healthcare bills go against professional and scientific consensus that gender-affirming care saves lives. Denying access will cause harm. Providers are faced with criminal charges, parents are threatened with child abuse charges, and intersex children are typically exempted.)
Florida S0952, the “Reverse Woke Act,” was referred to the Senate Health Policy Committee.
Georgia SB140, an under-18 healthcare ban, had a second reading.
Indiana SB0480, an under-18 healthcare ban, passed in the Senate and crossed over to the House.
Kansas SB233, which already passed in the Senate, was referred to the House Health and Human Services Committee. This is also an under-18 healthcare ban.
Nebraska LB574, again an under-18 healthcare ban, was placed on general file, meaning it is now on the floor.
Oklahoma SB129 passed in committee and will head to the Senate floor. A reminder that this bill had an emergency added, so it would immediately go into effect if it passes.
Texas HB776, an abortion and under-18 healthcare ban, was referred to the House Public Health Committee.
Utah HB0132 returned to committee yesterday after it failed in committee in January. This is also an under-18 bill.
Public performance bills: (also known as "drag bans" restrict access for folks who are gender non-conforming in any way. They loosely define "drag" as any public performance with an “opposite gender expression,” as sexual in nature, and inappropriate for children. This also pushes trans individuals out of public spaces.)
Arizona SB1698 passed in committee and is headed to the Senate.
Arkansas SB43 was signed by the Governor. This is the drag ban bill that was largely amended to only cover public nudity.
Montana HB359, which already passed in the House, had its first reading in the Senate.
Oklahoma SB503, an obscenity bill, passed in committee.
South Dakota HB1116 an "obscenity bill" that prohibits "lewd or lascivious content," which already passed in the House, passed in committee.
Tennessee SB0841 had its action deferred until 3/14.
Texas HB708 was referred to the House State Affairs Committee.
Schooling bills: (Schooling, or so called “parental rights” bills force schools to misgender or deadname students, ban instruction on sexual orientation and gender identity, and make schools alert parents if they suspect a child is trans. They remove life-saving affirmation and support for trans youth.)
Arizona SB1001 passed in the Senate and was transmitted to the House.
Arkansas SB294 is headed to its final vote in the House.
Florida H1069 was sent to another education subcommittee in the House.
Indiana HB1608 passed in the House and crossed over to the Senate where its first reading is scheduled for Monday.
Iowa HSB222 passed in its subcommittee.
Missouri HB1258 had a second reading.
Oklahoma SB503 passed in committee this morning and is headed to the Senate floor.
Tennessee HB1269 was referred to the House Finance, Ways, & Means Committee.
Utah SB0283, an anti-DEI bill for higher education, passed in its Senate Revenue and Taxation Hearing and is now headed to its second committee.
Sex designation bills: (Sex designation bills make it harder for trans folks to have IDs, such as birth certificates, that match their gender identity. They can force a male or female designation based upon sex assigned at birth. Some ban a non-binary “X” marker or require surgery to qualify for ID updates.)
Montana SB458,passed in committee and will head to the Senate floor.
Tennessee SB1440 passed in committee and will head to the Senate floor.
Sports ban bills: (Most sports bills force schools to designate teams by sex assigned at birth. They are often one-sided and ban trans girls from playing on teams consistent with their gender identity. Some egregious bills even force invasive genital examinations on student athletes.)
Arkansas HB1156 was re-referred to the Senate Education Committee.
Florida H0999 was sent to another education subcommittee.
Wyoming SF0133, which already passed in the House, passed in the Senate and will now head to the Governor for signature.
Other anti-trans bills:
Kentucky HB470 passed in committee. This bill defies our categorization system; it's a healthcare bill, but also functions as a bathroom, sports, name change, and a sex designation bill; it packages anything attacking trans youth. A live-tweet of the hearing is here, as can the many Kentucky residents who testified against it.
West Virginia HB3042, a “religious freedom” bill, passed in the Senate and is headed to the Governor for signature.
Texas SB559, a “religious freedom” bill, passed in committee and will head to the Senate floor.

Disenfranchising voters who have been incarcerated is a long standing voter suppression tactic — but with the bill Nebraska lawmakers passed last week, THOUSANDS of Nebraskans are one step closer to having their voting rights more easily restored. 🙌🏽
Currently, someone convicted of a felony in Nebraska must wait two years after completing their prison, parole, and probation sentences before regaining their right to vote. This bill eliminates that waiting period, allowing Nebraskans to automatically get their voting power back as soon as they return to their communities.
In order for this bill to officially become law, Governor Jim Pellen must sign it.
As of October 2023, 26 states and Washington D.C. have expanded voting rights to people with felony convictions. As a result, more than TWO MILLION people across the country have had their right to vote restored. Every voice matters in our democracy. 🗳️✅

The 13th Amendment to the U.S. Constitution abolished slavery, but it included an exception: Neither slavery nor involuntary servitude shall exist, it declares, except as punishment for a crime. Prison rights advocates say this exception allows for forced labor in prisons. Five years ago this month, Colorado became the first state in modern U.S. history to enact this constitutional change. (Rhode Island banned slavery without exception in 1842.) Since then, there has been a growing movement across the U.S. to get rid of what's become known as the "exception clause." Nebraska, Utah, Alabama, Oregon, Tennessee and Vermont have all changed their constitutions in the past three years. At least nine more have introduced legislation, including Nevada, where residents will vote on this issue in 2024. But in Colorado, the daily lives of people behind bars haven't changed. NPR

The Republican Party’s Worst Nightmare
Republicans have been trying to crush unions for decades, but American workers are fighting back with a vengeance.
Many GOP leaders wink and nod while talking about “making America great again,” as if the country was more prosperous when they were in charge.
Rubbish.
Yes, there was a time when the American economy worked better for workers than it does now, but not because Republicans played any part in making it that way. And certainly not because of the bigotry, misogyny, and racism they’ve been peddling to pit workers against each other to distract them from how much wealth is being siphoned off to the top.
In fact, Republicans have been waging a relentless war against what had been one of the biggest drivers of prosperity for the working class — labor unions.
Now, it’s important to note that this prosperity wasn’t shared equally with women or people of color, but a big reason much of the workforce was better off decades ago than today is because of the power of labor unions to organize and fight for the rights and dignity of workers.
Republicans have fought labor unions tooth and nail. They’ve enacted deceptively named "right-to-work" laws, which are all about weakening unions rather than giving workers more rights. And they've voted against bills allowing workers to form unions with simple up or down majorities at the workplace.
This is the great irony of the MAGA movement. And it would be funny if it weren’t so tragic. If Republicans really cared about American greatness, they would support unions — one of the major tools at our disposal to actually combat inequality and lift up the working class.
Fortunately — despite Republican efforts — labor unions are on the rise once more. And so are pro-labor Democratic politicians.
These Democrats won big in the 2022 midterms — especially in the rust belt. They captured the governorships of Pennsylvania, Wisconsin, Illinois, Minnesota, and also Michigan — where they flipped both chambers of the state legislature. The last time Democrats had full control of Michigan’s state government was in the 1980s.
And look at the impressive victory of John Fetterman — the new U.S. senator from Pennsylvania. He defeated a wealthy Republican snake oil salesman and flipped a senate seat, while running on an unabashedly pro-worker platform aiming to increase the federal minimum wage, end corporate price gouging, and make it easier for workers to organize unions at their workplaces.
It wasn’t just pro-worker politicians who won big during the midterms, but worker friendly ballot measures as well — almost universally opposed by Republicans.
Illinois voted to enshrine collective bargaining rights into its constitution, effectively banning right to work laws from ever being passed in the state.
Washington D.C. voted overwhelmingly to eliminate the subminimum wage for tipped workers.
Voters in Nebraska and Nevada chose to increase their state minimum wage.
Forced prison labor was outlawed in Vermont, Alabama, Tennessee, and Oregon.
Republicans, along with their rich and powerful patrons, have always feared that working people would recognize their collective power, both through unions and at the ballot box. So the wealthy are doing everything they can to hold working people down.
But the midterm elections and the resurgent worker power movement should give us hope that a more just and equitable United States will be built with union labor.
It’s not just about making America great — it’s about making America better. Not just a bigger economy but a fairer economy. Not just more wealth for the wealthy, but better and more secure lives for all.

Summary: Two years. You never drive far anymore, you don’t linger outside of your new city limits. Because how can you drive into the desolate life you once had? Then again, Hawkins and its story book tragedies have a way of bringing you back for more. A mangled marriage, an abandoned two story, and a loved one in turmoil, it finally brings you back home.
Parings: Eddie Munson x Female Reader
Warnings: Language, shitloads of angst, mentions of major health trauma (it’s heart related, so be warned before reading, as I don’t want to trigger anyone), that angsty angst, but with a happy ending, & obvious smut/nsfw content that will appear later in the story!
A/N: Sneak peek/teaser into my new series, and the first one I’m publishing for this fandom — That House In Indiana (inspired by Ethel Cain’s ‘A House In Nebraska’. Lyrics below that I obviously don’t own) There will be a happy ending, so don’t worry! I’ve also drawn off myself for the situation with Wayne, based off what happened to my own dad. It’s pretty rough, but Wayne will be okay — I promise! He has a health crisis in this that might trigger some people, so please DON’T read if you know it’ll upset you! And let me know what y’all think if you do read, please and thank you? ❤️💘❤️💘

Labored breaths and bed sores, sing it to me all day long
When the aching sound of silence used to be our favorite song
You and me against the world, you were my man and I your girl
We had nothing except each other, you were my whole world
Then the day came and you were up and gone
And I still call home that house in Nebraska
Where we found each other on a dirty mattress on the second floor
Where the world was empty, save you and I
Where you came and I laughed, and you left and I cried
Where you told me even if we died tonight, that I'd die yours
~*~
Shaking hands with chipped polish of a once fresh manicure, now worried down from alternating chewed grinds between chattering teeth and trembling lips, stained with overflowing salt — switch to a tight grip around a faded leather steering wheel, the cracking leather mingling with that of rustling denim. Scattered neon pink chips spray nail beds, making you twitch with the need to placate that urgency in your guts that pummels the muscles, seizing those in your eyes to force you to glance at where the gold band used to sit, used to distract you so perfectly. You were sure that you’d gotten over that. Funny what delusions the mind can bank on to get you through destruction and pain. You sniffle upon a jagged exhale, breath coming out choppy and overused.
Your body feels stuck to the seats, melted into a frozen statue. You really don’t want to be you, to think. Hell, your thoughts border on everything they shouldn’t, all the what-ifs, the blames, past tragedies, and your wishes that if this was the end result — maybe it would’ve been better if you died that night in the Spring of 1986. Long drives that aren’t in line with the simplicity of five minutes, you’d avoided for the last two years. Four hours from your one bedroom townhouse in Illinois to a hotel room in your hometown of Hawkins, Indiana — you’re a prisoner to your psyche.
You’ll see your crumbling dream in the form of white plaster, broken wood planks, and rotten rose bushes, frosted across shattered glass windows — ones you had stewed over for days on what color would look the best for curb appeal, and a large for sale sign in the front yard that was once littered with the cars of friends and loved ones. That very same home, the one you had shaped with your partner, that curly haired, doe eyed boy that you first met when he gave you money to pay for the groceries you couldn’t quite afford when you were fifteen, unbeknownst to you that it was his last five dollars, but he gave it to you because he knew you needed it more. He’d be fine as long as you were. You don’t have to try to embrace every whisper his hands had gifted your skin with. Your walls are gone, body ripped open and bare for the entire town you’d left behind two years ago.
The scenery is starting to fill in, barren trees near bloom. Maybe an early Spring, you can’t be sure? Your tires click against wet asphalt when you turn, splashing water on the chrome body of your car as you head into the embankment of treetops that glow, entwined into an arch that blankets the road in charcoal shadows. You manage to raise your hand to hit your windshield wipers, crystal clearing in a thick smear. Your sclera, however, floods over, lashes sticking to raw under eyes, puffy and exerted. You swallow harshly around a raw and wet throat, foot accelerating the gas pedal. You have to get there.
You haven’t slept since you heard his voice, your ears floating into a familiar peak, a swell of overwhelming longing stealing every ounce of breath from your lungs, trapping your diaphragm beneath whimpers not cried. You knew right away that something wasn’t okay. He called for the first time in years, he was in the place of his uncle, your confusion palpable as you hadn’t expected the youth for the familiarity of your weekly calls with his own family. You could hear his deep voice, raspy and shrouded in painful storms unmatched. Your body was like a dead weight, fingers struggling to hold onto the receiver, tone a mere whisper, one that felt like broken glass being dragged out through your windpipes.
“What’s wrong, Eds?”
“He… I, Y/N—“ Like a plea that was too silent to fully find its vessel, his voice became caked with an ocean of tears, thick like the swamps of isolating despair.
You’d almost resorted to begging, but you had known, even then, Eddie always took his own path to processing grief. Resisting an instinctual soothe towards him was like rejecting the air that earth offered you.
Your fingers prickled in an uncomfortable heat, numb and dulled, tongue heavy and choking you. The same as that night you awaited to hear whatever horror Hawkins had dropped into your lives once more.
“It’s Wayne.” There was an eerie quietness as Eddie had caught up with himself and moved forward enough to inform you. You couldn’t have stopped the gasping cry that left your mouth if you’d taped it shut.
He’d wanted nothing more than to reach through the phone and take you into his arms, needing to remember what the heartbeat of another human felt like, more specifically — his human. But you weren’t, you hadn’t been, and he wasn’t calling you to tell you that. You loved his uncle like a father. Having to break this news, to lay a layer of pavement over your spirit and let it dry, driving over it to forget, Eddie guiding your heart into another turmoil — it made him want to attempt to dislocate his own jaw.
“What about Wayne? Please tell me what’s going on?” You lost every piece you’d mangled together, helpless to their violent disappearance.
Eddie had trembled as he sighed, shaky and worn. “He had a heart attack a few hours ago.”
Your organ had begun to lose traction, beating sporadically that you were sure some of your bones had been reduced to ash beneath the forceful erratic rhythm. Leaving behind everything but your shoes, coat, keys, and purse, you were already at your front door, phone cord stretching with you. “I’m coming home. I’ll be there as soon as I can.”
“Yeah. Kay. I’ll be here.” Eddie sounded lost, that light he’d accumulated in his lifetime, part of it was dimming. He couldn’t lose the one person that had been with him his whole life. You were already gone. This would devour him whole.
You sit up straight in your seat, the action causing your back to crack. You take a few deep breaths, engrossed in the glossy branches in your sky view, thunder roaring in the distance, your vehicle approaching the clearing and ready to hit that final road that will take you home.

Part 7: Making the right choice.
Summary: Eddie makes the best decision of his life. But his happiness is short lived.
" It's been a long time, son."
Eddie tensed up a little. " Yeah…how are you?"
His dad chuckled behind the prison glass. " Well I guess I'm doing alright. As well as I can be."
Eddie pressed his lips together. " Right. Sorry."
" So you gonna pussy foot around or you gonna tell your old man why you're here?"
Eddie laughed a little. His dad always did cut to the chase.
"Okay, so normally I go to Wayne when I have a problem. But he's on his way to Nebraska for work and couldn't get a hold of him. I-I need help. Like now."
" Who did you knock up?"
Eddie stood quiet and hung his head. " I got one girl pregnant for sure."
" One?"
He sighed and rubbed his face. " My sorta ex is having a baby too. But it might not be mine."
" What the hell boy?! I know it feels good not wearing a jimmy. But two girls! And what the hell do you mean sorta ex?"
Eddie went on to explain the entire situation. Start to finish. And his dad just sat there shaking his head.
"I really need your help dad. I think I know what I have to do. But I don't want to make the wrong choice here. And regardless of where you are. I still need my dad." Eddie looked back. " I get that things didn't work out with you and mom. But I remember how much you loved her. And how much she loved you…you would do anything for her. So I need you to help me…I love this girl. And I want to marry her one day. I just don't know what to do if my ex has my kid."
Allen looked up at his son and saw the doubt and insecurity there. "Alright. Here it is. Get a DNA test done. And if it's yours make sure you get joint custody. If it's not then go be a good dad to the other. But don't jump from one relationship to the other. Son, you've been in a relationship for your entire adult life. Do you even remember who you used to be? Because I'm looking at you and I don't see my son."
Eddie furrowed his brow. " Well I have grown up since I last saw you."
" I know that. But the Eddie I remember used to be so happy and full of energy. You had plans to play at The Garden…what happened to that guy? Don't tell me all the guitar lessons I paid for are going to waste."
" I just play now for shits and giggles."
" See that's what I'm talking about. I remember a time where that's all you would ever talk about. You said you weren't going to quit."
" I didn't quit, okay! I wasn't good enough."
Allen scoffed. " Bullshit."
" Dad, seriously?"
" Look boy, all I'm sayin' is give yourself some time to figure out who you are without a girl. Figure out who you want to be. Because you only have a few months to get it right. And if I were you…well I would choose the one you can't stop thinkin' about. Your best friend. And if you end up with two kids. Then son you gotta work things out with both. I can't tell you how to do it. But I can tell you no matter what, be a better old man than your old man. Make your kids proud. And be with a woman who loves and respects you as a man."
" So you're saying that I shouldn't be with either one of them?"
" I'm sayin' find the man inside you. All the shit you were doing before was kid shit. Grow up."
Eddie left his dad more confused than ever. So he went home.
It was three days later and his first stop was to the apartment.
He took a deep calming and encouraging breath before walking in. The second he did he was instantly annoyed. Jason was there cuddled up with Chrissy on the couch, watching a movie.
They both looked back and genuinely looked surprised to see him.
" Ed? You're back."
He stared at Jason and wanted to throw him out. But then he thought that it didn't matter anymore. Obviously, Chrissy didn't give two shits about his feelings.
" Chrissy, can I speak to you in private?"
She looked at Jason and what looked like her asking permission to do so. Eddie rolled his eyes.
" Yeah. I umm I'll go and get that foot spa for you." Jason said before giving her a kiss on the head and taking off.
Eddie then walked around the couch and sat down. " I guess Jason took care of you while I was gone."
She hung her head in shame.
" Look I'm not here to hurt you or stress you out. If you're happy, then I'm happy for you. But I came back to tell you I'm still gonna move out. And that as soon as you're able to do it. I'll pay for a paternity test."
She nodded and wiped her tears away.
" Whatever the outcome is, you and I are done… You have done something that I can't really believe. Still, I love you. And I respect that you might be the mother of my kid. So the only time I want to hear from you is if it has something to do with the baby… I'll be at Gareth's."
She shuddered a breath. " Th-that's fair."
He shook his head a little and got up to grab his stuff.
Before he left he stopped at the door and looked over his shoulder at her.
" Oh. By the way, Y/n's pregnant too."
Chrissy covered her mouth in shock.
" We're gonna be a family Chrissy. And if the test comes back that it's mine…just get used to the idea that she's gonna be his or her mom too."
" His." She accidentally said.
Eddie felt a jolt of joy when he heard that. And if under any other circumstances, he would call everyone and celebrate that he was having a boy. Instead, he gave her a weak smile and left.
When he pulled up to your place, he never felt so bad. These past few days were not what he was expecting. He was given advice that wasn't what he hoped for. But what he needed to hear. That's why he was here. He was going to tell you that though he was deeply in love with you. That he needed to step up and figure out what to do.
When he got off the van he was met with a worried you.The second you opened the door and saw him, you threw your arm around his neck and squeezed.
" Do you have any idea how worried I've been!?"
It took everything he had to not burst into tears.
" Don't you dare disappear like that again! Don't you dare put me through that again. I thought-" You pulled away to wipe your tears. " I put in a missing persons report for you. I-I didn't even have a picture…Robin printed off one from your old yearbook."
" I'm so sorry sweetheart."
Eddie couldn't believe that you did that. Not even the girl he had loved for five years gave a crap that he was gone. And here you were, scared that something had happened to him.
You pulled him back and hugged him so tight that he could feel the anguish coming off of you.
" Where did you go? I thought you might come back after you talked to Chrissy."
He put a hand behind your head and rested his cheek on your forehead. " I wanted to…I needed to talk to someone."
You leaned back and looked at him. " And you couldn't talk to me? Or at the very least call and tell me you were okay?"
He went quiet and looked away.
When he didn't say anything after a few seconds you took a couple steps back.
" Just say it."
His eyes returned to you. " Say what?"
You crossed your arms and sighed. " That the possibility of having two babies is too much."
He licked his lips and shook his head. " That's not-"
" If you want to bail on me. F-fine. I'll be alright. I can do this by myself. But don't bolt on Chrissy if you're the father of her's."
" I'm not gonna leave you high and dry. I'm not that guy Y/n. And if the baby's mine. I'm going to do what I'm supposed to-"
You cut him off. " But?"
He swallowed the lump in his throat. Everything his dad said seemed so wrong now that he was standing in front of the one person who got him. His best friend.
Eddie took a step towards you. You expected him to say that he was going to do right by you and Chrissy. But he didn't want to be with either of you now. However, that wasn't what he said.
" Chris and I are over… But you and I. Baby we will never be over. I love you. I'm in love with you. And I'm gonna be here for you whether you want me to or not." He stepped close enough to cup either side or your face. " I wanted a family and you're giving it to me…I-I just need to ask you one thing."
You held onto his forearms and nodded.
" I know it's a lot to ask, but are you willing to still be with me and accept that I might have a son in three months?"
Your eyes went wide and a small smile found your lips. " Son?"
He softly laughed. " Yeah."
Tears of joy filled both of your eyes. After a second you wrapped your arms around his waist. Burying your face in his chest. Saying a soft yes.
" Hmm?"
" Yes and I still want you." You leaned back and looked up to him. " But what're we gonna do now?"
He started rubbing your shoulders and let out a sigh of relief. " Well, right now I'm gonna go drop my stuff off at Gareth's. Then I'm gonna come back and take you to a late lunch. Afterwards, I'm gonna see about getting a different job. I can't support you and our baby on a mechanics paycheck."
" No. You like that job bud. I'm not gonna let you give that up. And I'm a big girl. I can help too."
He chuckled. " I know you can. But I want you and our baby to not want for anything…I have a little saved up. So we can use that for the nursery. And as soon as I get a good paying job, we could…if you want, we could… maybe get married."
" Eww!"
Eddie furrowed his brow.
" Seriously curls? I'm not gonna have a shotgun wedding."
He hung his head and shook it. " Right. Not another cliche."
You grabbed his chin and made him look at you. " After what you put me through the last 3 days, you're lucky I didn't kick you in the shins. But yes. I honestly don't think we should even be thinking about that right now. What we should be doing is getting you settled on the pull out."
He tilted his head. Silently asking what?
" I don't know how I'm going to feel in a couple months. And I would feel a lot better if you were closer."
"On the pull out though?"
" Yes in the pull out." You backed away from him. " You're not getting off that easily, mister. Now get your stuff and come inside."
Eddie watched as you went inside. What he planned for the conversation was not what happened. But he honestly couldn't be happier. He finally got the girl he was meant to be with and he was going to have a family of his own.
2 & ½ months later
Eddie had noticed you been down lately and wanted to make you smile. So he took you to the place it all started for him.
" Man it feels like I haven't been here for ages." You said as you and him walked through The Palace. " You know, I wonder?"
Eddie grinned at you. "Wonder what sweetheart?"
You looked towards a certain area. "Follow me."
He was right behind you and stopped just a couple of steps when you went to the game that started it all.
" When I first moved here, I had this ongoing battle with this little kid. Every Sunday night, I would come and see that this loser beat my score with exactly 1,000 points." You sighed then smiled at the pinball machine.
Eddie came and put a hand on your lower back. " Yeah? Did he do it again?"
You looked at the score and shook your head. " Looks like the little dweeb hasn't been here in a while either."
He smiled and went to reach for the note you left months prior. You watched in confusion as he smirked at the note and put in the quarter you left. He then proceeded to play until he beat your high score. With guess it, exactly 1,000 points.
He then put a quarter in the coin slot and grinned.
You crossed your arms and furrowed your brow. " You?"
He laughed a little and nodded.
" This whole time?"
He rubbed the back of his neck. " You're not pissed are you?"
You ran your tongue over your teeth then clicked it. Laughing a little after. " Kinda."
Eddie frowned. But then you wrapped your arms around his neck and gave him a peck on the lips.
" I'm totally gonna kick your ass at that later. But right now. I want you to take me home."
He smirked while leading you back to the van.
You guys didn't make it home though. You had him make love to you in the back of the van.
He had just came deep inside your pussy and went limp on you.
" Aaaannnddd I'm pregnant."
He chuckled and shook his head.
A few minutes passed when you cleared your throat.
" Eddie?"
He looked up and started stroking your hair. " Yeah baby?"
You looked back and forth between his eyes. " I'm really happy you picked me."
Before he gave you a loving kiss he whispered. " I will always pick you."
The following morning you found yourself on the couch with Eddie.
" Shit! Did you feel that sweetheart?"
You smiled at Eddie who had his head on your belly. " I did bud. The baby's kinda in-"
You were cut off by a sharp pain in your lower back.
"Ooofffff!"
Eddie's head shot up. "What is it? What's wrong?"
You let out a shaky breath. "I think our chicken nugget head butted my kidney."
He gasped and turned to your tummy. " Hey booger. You need to be nice to your mommy."
You shook your head and smiled. " You know, ever since we decided on waiting until the peanut is born to find out the gender. I love how we come up with neutral nicknames."
He grinned and put his head back on your stomach. " Well I for one love the one you said the other day. What was it?"
You pressed your lips together and sighed.
" Oh! That's right. Daddy's little squirt."
" Oh my god! That was you!"
He smirked and kissed your belly. "Yeah. I like that one."
You shook your head and laughed.
Eddie looked up at you again and looked like he had a lot on his mind.
You moved his bangs away from his eyes. " What is it curls?"
"Nothing. I'm just really excited to meet the munchkin."
You nodded. " Me too."
He kissed your tummy again and crawled up your body. Landing a kiss. The second it turned into more the front door opened.
" Oh! Ummm sorry." Paul shielded Natalie's eyes.
Eddie got up quickly and went to grab Natalie's bag.
"Hey guys. You're early." You said, sitting up right on the couch.
Paul gave you an I'm sorry look. " I uhh I got called into work early."
You held out your arms for Natalie after she gave Eddie a hug.
" Hi baby."
" Tee!" She squealed while hugging your neck. " Tee? When's my baby coming?"
You smiled at her and held your little tummy. " not for a while baby."
She pouted, making you tear up. " I'm sorry."
Eddie felt his heart fill with warmth seeing you and Natalie. At that moment he wished for a girl.
After Paul left Eddie and Natalie watched cartoons while you started making lunch.
The phone trilled.
You went over and answered it. A few seconds later you looked at Eddie.
" Yeah we'll be right there."
You were holding Eddie's hand watching Natalie play with the hospital's toys. Waiting patiently as Chrissy gave birth down the hall.
Eddie was quiet. You could feel his anxiousness.
" Bud?"
He looked at you.
" Whatever happens…we'll figure this out. Together."
He squeezed your hand and nodded.
13 hours later
Chrissy's mom came out and motioned for Eddie to go with her.
He squeezed your hand once more before following her.
One look at the baby and he knew. He was his. His heart sank. But at the same time he was relieved to know the truth.
He gave Chrissy a kiss on the head and went to hold his baby boy. Tears fell from his eyes. A mixture of happiness and sadness filled him.
A little while later he returned to the waiting room to find you talking to Jason.
You knew immediately from his face that Eddie now a son. It hurt. It hurt a hell of a lot. But you faked a smile and hugged him.
" He's- he's beautiful."
You nodded and smiled.
Jason got up and went to see Chrissy while you and Eddie sat back down.
He sighed. " I don't know what to say."
" There's nothing to say Eddie. Just be happy."
" I…I really thought he wasn't going to be mine."
" But he is. And now you need to be here…I'm gonna take Natalie home. It's her nap time."
Eddie didn't want you to leave. But you gave him a hug and he handed you the keys to the van.
"I love you."
You kissed his cheek and nodded. " I'll see you at home."
His heart broke watching you walk away from him. He hated that more than anything. Even though he wanted to go with you, he had to be with his baby.
Two weeks later Eddie had spent more time with Chrissy than he did with you. It was selfish but you wanted him to be at home. With you.
When he did come home he came to eat and sleep. Then he was gone before you woke up.
You felt so alone. Sure you had Paul and Robin. Even Steve and Gareth came around a lot once they found out that you and Eddie were together. But all you wanted was Eddie.
One weekend he finally came home with baby Liam.
You nearly cried seeing his big brown eyes.
" God curls. He's…so perfect."
Eddie grinned. "Wanna hold him?"
You looked at him with caution in your eyes.
"It's okay sweetheart. Chrissy doesn't mind."
You sat down and he placed baby Liam in your arms.
You fell in love instantly. " Hi monkey."
Liam cooed and smiled.
" Look at you." You sniffled.
Eddie sat closer to you and started rubbing your arms. " You okay?"
" Yeah. It's just the hormones." You wiped away your tears and looked at him. " I miss you."
He frowned a little. " I know. I miss you too. That's why I brought him today. I wanted to ask if he could stay with us sometimes. I hate not being here for you. And I don't want to be away from him."
" Is Chrissy okay with that?"
He pressed his lips together. " She doesn't really care."
" What's that supposed to mean?"
Eddie looked at Liam and frowned. " The only time she really spends with him is when he needs to be fed."
You turned to look at the beautiful little human in your arms. " Eddie, that's not okay…maybe she had postpartum."
" That's what I thought. But I don't know. It's like she doesn't want him."
That right there broke your heart. How could anyone not want this perfect little angel?
" Baby, I don't know if that's okay. I think she might need some help."
" She's with Jason. "
You were instantly pissed. " What?!"
He shook his head. " She said she needed some time. So she went to stay with Jason today."
" You're joking.'
He shook his head.
" What about his feeding schedule?"
" I-I have a couple of frozen bags of milk-"
" That's not gonna last him at all."
You looked at Eddie again and he looked like he was gonna cry. He also looked so tired. You immediately knew that you had to do something.
" Okay. This is what we're gonna do. First, I need you to leave me the bags of milk and go back to the apartment and get some extra clothes and blankets. Then go to the store and get a couple of cans of formula. Make sure it says for newborns. Then get diapers and fragrance free baby wipes."
" O-okay."
You cupped his face. " Together, remember?"
" Y-yeah. Anything else?"
You looked back at little Liam. " Whatever else we'll get it. Just be careful and come back. Don't freak out on me and take off again."
" I'm not leaving him." He kissed your temple. " Or you."
-
When he came back you were sitting in the nursing room. Rocking Liam back and forth.
You quickly put your finger to your lips.
Eddie then watched as you put Liam in the cradle he bought for your guy's baby. You then grabbed a baby monitor and walked with him to the living room.
" Baby's sleep a lot. So you should sleep when he sleeps." You whispered.
Eddie wrapped his arms around you and silently cried. "I-I don't know what I would've done without you."
You hugged him back. " Well good thing you have me huh?"
He chuckled lightly. " I love you."
"Promise?"
He looked at you and smiled softly. " Pinky."
Two months had gone by and Chrissy got over the initial shock of having a baby. You were seven months pregnant now.
It was awkward at first but then it became weirdly normal.
Eddie brought Liam home with him four nights a week and sometimes on the other days Chrissy would come over too.
Overall you guys became this unusual little family. Then the worst possible thing happened.
You had gone to Paul's house to babysit Natalie.
Ever since he found out that Eddie had a baby with Chrissy, he and Eddie have been on the outs. Paul didn't want Natalie around Eddie anymore, so you respected his decision and started watching her at his place.
You had gone upstairs to get her ready for the day, when all of a sudden you slipped on one of her toys and fell down the stairs.
You were unconscious for a few minutes until you heard Natalie crying.
-
Eddie was at Chrissy's when he got the call from your brother. He immediately went to the hospital. Paul was sitting outside the room when he ran up.
Paul looked up and Eddie knew. He knew that something terrible happened.
Paul tried to stop him from going in the room but Eddie pushed him away.
He froze when he saw you. Your arm was in a cast and you had bruises all over. The beeping from the monitor sounded so ominous.
He looked over the room and didn't see a bassinet.
That's when he felt a hand on his shoulder.
" She didn't make it. I'm…I'm so sorry."
Eddie's heart fell.
Paul's words echoed in his ears.
She?

PedroStories HallowReads Celebration
A Spooky Salute to Writers!
There are literally hundreds of fics out here that have stolen my heart, but here are a few of my favorites. Forgive me if I wax poetic about some of these, but I think you'll love them just as much!
For other stories I've loved, check out my fic rec tag!
🎃 Here are my recommendations for @pedrostories’ HallowReads Celebration 🎃
Tumblr media
My favourite fanfics I read this year
Point A to Point B by @amywritesthings Description: Escorting a former Empire prisoner of war to a Rebel Alliance safe zone? It should be a piece of cake. Absolutely no problems whatsoever. My thoughts: My space sister even when she's off in another galaxy far far away (aka another fandom), Point A to Point B was one of the first Din series I read that was in progress at the time I started. Nothing made me quite as excited as giving my blow-by-blow reactions to Amy's spectacular story, and I'll come back to a few of those...ahem...firsts time and time again. The writing style is crisp and gorgeously detailed, and I love her religious Din so very much.
Lie to Me by @iamskyereads Description: A recent transfer to the DEA from the FBI makes you a target of hazing from your co-workers. Choosing to forget your bad first day at a bar puts you on a path towards meeting a new acquaintance. An expert on deception and psychological profiling, you are adept at catching liars. What happens when an increasingly stressful work environment begins to test the limits of your personal life and the one man at the center of it all, Javier Peña? Afterall, everybody lies about something. But how many are you keeping from yourself? An AU of Season 3 of Narcos My thoughts: Skye writes some of my favorite "it's canon now" stories, and Lie to Me is a shining example of what her creative mind can do with Season 3 plus an incredible reader character. I have never read a story where the reader was so different than me but also someone I'd so badly like to be that I could really imagine it to be true. Plus her Javi is so thoroughly rendered in perfect introspection I half expect scenes from the show to have Carino in the background. A must read!
Surrender by @ezrasbirdie Description: Weeks after the events in Kansas City, Joel and Ellie stumble across a woman lost in the Nebraska wilderness. With her knack for foraging and unending patience for Ellie's ceaseless questions, Daisy quickly becomes an asset on their journey. But between Joel's capriciousness towards her presence and Ellie's fierce loyalty to her guardian, she can't help but question her place with her new companions--especially when she catches Joel's gaze lingering more and more when he thinks she isn't looking. My thoughts: Listen, I know there's a lot of Joel out there right now, but this Joel? You need to read this Joel. A glorious character study of an intensely broken man finding a new start through the eyes of a complex and powerfully realized OC. There are whole chapters that have me in a chokehold, and the pain is so stunningly offset by the beauty they find in each other. One of my favorite things Birdie has written (and there are lots to choose from!)
Celestial Navigation by @write-and-buried Description: Dumped and drowning in a summer storm, you duck inside a coffee shop to hide from your broken heart. Covered in plants and hand drawn images over exposed brick, it seems like a slice of heaven. The owner brings you a blueberry muffin and a promise; you’ll fall in love with him before the new year. My thoughts: How can I not mention the story I salivated over every week waiting for a new chapter? This Dieter has all of the hallmarks of canon Dieter with so much more depth and a unique twist to his character that works perfectly in this sort-of AU. Every description is lush and ripe, sensuality used to lull you into horny heaven. Gorgeously realized and a wonderful contained read again and again.
Intimidation Tactics by @whataperfectwasteoftime Description: You and your partner, Marcus Pike, are investigating a case that brings you far too close to something much more dangerous than your average art thief.   My thoughts: Penny came out of the gate SWINGING with this series. Marcus and Dave's chemistry is electric, and the three of them together weave attraction and devotion into something much more grounded and confident than I expected. Their relationship blossoms so fully I can't imagine it any other way.
Wild Abandon by @starlightmornings Description: Post-WWII, set in the Great Smoky Mountains of Western North Carolina. Ezra Joe Collins came home from the war looking to hide away in the wilderness. His simple, quiet life is turned upside down when you show up in his garden, hungry and desperate, with nowhere else to go. What starts out as a grudging friendship quickly transforms into something that will knit your very souls together — but as you soon discover, such a bond comes at great cost. My thoughts: Kaylie's masterful execution of this thematic story kept me on the edge of my seat for weeks! The setting and voice is some of the most unique writing I've come across, and the threads she weaves together to make the full picture come to light had me gasping. Plus Ezra is the perfect balance of hedonistic and mysterious, just the way I like him.
Beloved fanfics with my comfort characters
First Class to Tatooine by @mandosmistress Description: You’re a flight attendant who’s so entranced by your melancholy, beskar-clad passenger that you decide to cheer him up with some first class treatment. And although the Mandalorian seems to think he can forget his woes between your legs if he tries hard enough, despair and violence seem to follow him no matter how hard he tries to shake them. My thoughts: Mari's fic was some of the first I read in the fandom and if I'm ever missing Din I come back to this story. Her young Din fics are transcendent, but I'm so in love with this post-TBOBF story and the angst she pulls out of it.
Kinktober 2022 by @chaoticgeminate Description: You’re a fanfiction writer turned novelist, which was great since it was the path you wanted your writing to take you down in life. What you never thought would happen was meeting the Javier Gutierrez, who you actively write smutty fanfiction about from his film with Nic Cage, and you especially didn’t expect him to have a crush on you. Fast forward several months of dating, with a good chunk of your relationship being distance due to his constant traveling and having to go home to Mallorca, when he surprises you with a prompt list and a vacation planned around exploring it. You haven’t even worked up the nerve to tell him about what you write and post to Tumblr about him as a character yet. My thoughts: Who doesn't want to live in a world where some happy accidents bring you together with Javi Gutierrez in a sexy funfest full of feelings, healthy relationship conversations, and mind-blowing smut? Plus Kelly made me almost cry several times featuring my beloved Murch in her stories and now our RCs are best friends forever.
Palomino by @fuckyeahdindjarin Description: Unable to get a refund for a week-long horse-riding pack trip you’d booked with your ex, you decide to go solo. As it turns out, a rebound with a cowboy named Jack while traversing the wild landscapes of Wyoming might just be what you need. My thoughts: Palomino is a triumph of a fic by the incredibly talented Cee that is a must-read if you like anything horsey. Even if you don't, come for the soft-spoken cowboy we were robbed of in TGC and their adventures together. Cee took so many unique turns that had me intrigued with my heart clenching at each new chapter, and the ending is truly something beautiful.
Fanfics I wish more people knew about
Calculated Risks by @pedrito-friskito Description: I took a calculated risk, but fuck, am I bad at math aka - this started as friends with benefits but you’re ridiculously good in bed and not as much of an asshole as originally thought and now I’m kind of in love with you? a saga. My thoughts: Kay's Dieter is a chaotic mess in the best way, and she pairs him with someone just as messy and perfect for him. They traverse some highs and lows together, but the love is so carefully threaded through you have to root for them.
Vibes by @mandoblowmybackout Description: Sex toys, Din Djarin, neurodivergent reader and so many feelings? What's not to love? My thoughts: The number of times I've closed my eyes and thought of scenes from this series is too large to count. As sexy as the concept sounds, the trust and care that Ash takes to give these two the love they deserve is even more exhilarating.
Kitten by @boliv-jenta Description: The reader meets Nico at a swingers party. Will he just scratch an itch or carve a place in her life? My thoughts: Liv has so many fics I adore, but the exploration of Nico as a character and how his and Kitten's experimentation grows is just masterful. Plus she gives us one of my favorite OC side characters and so many twists and turns I was gobbling up each addition the moment they came out!
Fanfics with my favourite trope/AU
Love Triangles by @littlemisspascal Description: Soulmates with Identifying Marks AU, including a ridiculous amount of pining, misunderstandings, and Dieter being Dieter. My thoughts: Rae's writing never fails to make me feel the widest spectrum of emotions. This AU is so fun and thoughtfully fleshed out, with a wild but kind Dieter, hilarious nicknames, and a soulmate twist that had me a gooey mess by the end.
Stranger At My Gate by @leslie-lyman Description: A time-traveling Pero. A modern woman trying her best. A kitchen full of possibility. A helping of Midwestern kindness. A dash of magic. And a whole lot of Christmas spirit. My thoughts: I read this around the holidays and it was the perfect treat for my time-travel-Pero-loving heart! The world Leslie creates is so warm and homey I want to live in it always. Plus big gruff Pero melting down for Tessa makes me want to cry, it's so wonderful.
A Galaxy Far Far Away by @grogusmum Description: This fic is as much a story about Din, Grogu, and Reader as it is a little love letter to an old home of mine, during an idyllic time in my life. As with most authors, there are characters who are a reflection of them, and that is certainly so for reader characters in fics. And it is so here, but only a little, but the cottage, the town, the festivities are directly from life. I hope they come across kind of like characters in their own right. My thoughts: Every time I get a new piece of this story it melts me again. The love in this is quiet and gentle, and Grogu is a sweet little menace we adore. The slow growth of love is truly the star, and I'll forever want to live in this town with a big teddy bear of a man and his mischievous son.
The Language of Flowers by @lowlights Description: You’re the only daughter of a wealthy Victorian family living in the countryside. The head gardener, Din, catches your eye and your heart. A series of clandestine rendezvous put both of your futures in jeopardy. One question persists: could you ever truly be together? (A Din Djarin AU) My thoughts: Gardener!Din owns my heart, my nethers, a large piece of my brain. The Victorian vibes are off the CHARTS, and while there's the looming doom of their secret relationship always present, I still fall back in love every time.
Fanfics I NEED to read
A Girl Walks Into a Bookshop by @oonajaeadira Description: Set a couple of years after the events of the film. Ezra owns a bookshop. You walk in. My thoughts: This has been on my TBR forever and I feel like I need to set aside a day to just binge it. I know it'll make me soft. I know it'll give me all the feels. I just need to prepare myself for it, preferably with a warm drink and a cozy corner to melt in.
Meant to Be by @radiowallet Description: Oberyn Martell has spent his life as a second-born prince enjoying all the pleasures that Dorne has to offer, staving off any notion of an arranged marriage under the guise of searching for his soulmate. But after defeating The Mountain and avenging his sister's untimely death, Oberyn returns home to his brother still without a true heir. And so Doran states his plan: To name Oberyn Lord of Sunspear and have him take a wife, soulmates and lovers be damned. So what happens when the fates of Westeros send him an independent and troublesome woman from the north that just happens to fit the title of both bride and soulmate? Which feelings does one bow to? To bend or to break? And what does it truly mean to be meant? My thoughts: Cat's unique take on a Soulmate AU with an unlikely Pedro boy has been tantalizing me for months! And to hear her say that it's one of the formative stories that's developed her unique voice just makes me want to read it more!
Clean Sheet by @haylzcyon Description: Former FBI agent turned tortured crime-author Marcus Pike has never gotten the hang of complacency. The weight of monotonous days stuck writing a loveless character into predictable plotlines is heavy - but he finds ways to shoulder it. Newly divorced and the owner of a print shop where Marcus orders copies of his working drafts, a slip-up in order packaging sparks a fast blooming friendship between you, and reveals a side to Marcus that you've only dreamt of. My thoughts: AUTHOR MARCUS AUTHOR MARCUS I know this is going to get me yearning and I cannot wait for him to meet-cute his way into my heart.
