I wrote a mini Panville/Dramione fic. I didn't have anyone to share it with, so here you go, Tumblr.
~
"The pressure to give your children hideous names is a very bizarre Pureblood trait. I really feel for Walburga Black, if she'd had a different name, perhaps she wouldn't have been so vile."
"Don't I know it," Pansy replied darkly from the St. Mungos examination table, "I was almost Crocus. Luckily, Mama sold my halmeoni on Pansy instead. I think even Papa was relieved, but he would have done anything his mother said. Speaking of, you know Draco is absolutely doing the same thing, right?"
Hermione rolled her eyes, a hand on her ever-growing stomach, "I'd never subject my son to the name Scorpius. Draco and I had enough troubles growing up with our unusual names. Narcissa won't win that fight."
Neville's eyes darted between the two women anxiously and he cleared his throat, "Does, uh.. does Hermione know, Pans?"
"I think that's really Draco's hex to take, wouldn't you say?"
"What?" Hermione looked suspicious and Pansy waved her off.
"Not to worry, just a little gamble we made with Narcissa when we were younger. It's really only of consequence if I end up ever having twins. Which is a slim chance, considering I absorbed my twin in the womb. Papa said he thinks I didn't want to share the spotlight," she grinned and Neville stared at her.
"You terrify me sometimes."
"Only sometimes?" Hermione muttered, while she waved her wand over Pansy's baby bump to begin diagnostics, "Anyway, what was the wager?"
"If I end up having twins, Draco has to name his first son Scorpius."
Hermione nearly dropped her wand.
"You didn't think to mention this at all in the last six months?" she demanded, leveling her best friend with a glare.
"Like I said, Draco's wheelhouse. Besides, what are the chances?"
"Pretty high, all things considered," Neville mumbled.
"You do have a remarkable breeding kink, love, but I'm not sure you necessarily managed twins on the first try," Pansy smirked, patting her husband's arm as he turned bright red.
"Sweetheart, I thought we talked about announcing private information in public."
"It's just Hermione, she's literally my OB and my best friend, it's not as though she doesn't know we've been having sex. Besides, she's up the duff as well, I wouldn't be surprised if Draco's the same way."
The curly headed witch turned away to hide her pink cheeks, "Getting back on topic, hopefully Narcissa won't hold Draco to that particular bet."
"Unlikely, he made an Unbreakable Vow."
Hermione closed her eyes and took a few deep breaths. She was going to murder her husband tonight.
"Hermione, relax. This was back in 6th year, when we still thought Draco and I would end up married. We were on Christmas hols and drunk. I think she came up with the whole thing to distract us from all the trauma," Pansy looked at her husband, brushing back a strand of her black hair, "Do you think Narcissa has a kink for the Unbreakable Vow?"
Neville, with his endless patience, replied in a tired kind of way, "Considering her son was involved in both instances, I think we can rule it out."
"Hm. Still odd that it's happened twice."
"If you're quite done ruminating on my mother-in-law's bedroom preferences."
Neville looked at the magical pregnancy diagnostics hovering over his wife's abdomen and a slow, very Slytherin smile graced his features.
"Pansy, I'd like you to meet your godson, Scorpius Malfoy," Hermione said a little ruefully.
"Really? I thought you just said-"
"Yes, well, I really don't fancy being a single mother. Looks like Narcissa wins this round. Congratulations, Pansy Longbottom. You're expecting twins."
Pansy's face paled and she examined the two magical signatures for a moment before suddenly bursting into tears. Neville wrapped his long arms around her shoulders, grinning ear to ear.
Hermione smiled as Pansy started laughing through her tears.
"Would you like to know?" The couple nodded in unison and Hermione's smile widened, "Both girls, both healthy, both showing a lot of magical potential. I'm so happy for you both. You're going to be wonderful parents."
"I guess you won our bet, you'll be getting the plant names you wanted," Pansy said, wiping her face.
"Seriously? Do all Purebloods do this?"
Pansy ignored Hermione's indignation, hiccuping and still swiping away tears, "Just anything but Crocus."
"I'll come up with something better, I promise," Neville held her face in his hands and kissed her forehead.
"Is this a joke?" Hermione asked, running a hand through her curls in bewilderment.
Neville looked up at her seriously, "I never joke about plants."

Remeber that time? || Panville
Pairings- Pansy Parkinson x Neville Longbottom This is the second short yet not so short drabble, these aren't written in order, and can be read as standalones. In this one, Neville and Pansy, "try" to celebrate their tenth wedding anniversary, on christmas eve, but parental duties just seem to be piling up, so much so that they don't have any time to spare.
Tumblr media
Remeber when we tried to celebrate our anniversary?
Evenings in the Longbottom household were a study in tranquility, but not the eerie silence Pansy had grown accustomed to in her childhood. Here, the quiet was comforting, with the couple nestled on their sofa, Pansy's head resting on her husband's shoulder as he delved into a book. Meanwhile, their three children—Alice, Francesca, and the youngest, August—were scattered across the carpet.
Alice engrossed herself in a tome from her father's study, while Francesca and August engaged in a heated game of wizard's chess. Despite being three years younger, August seemed to be trouncing his sister. Their seventeen-year-old, Alice, glanced at her parents and remarked, "Your seventeenth anniversary is coming up soon."
"You can shoot me on the day I forget," Neville quipped, his eyes still fixed on his book. Pansy playfully nudged his arm.
"Do you two have any plans? Something romantic?" asked Francesca, the fourteen-year-old. Meanwhile, eleven-year-old August gagged at the mention of romance, deep in his "the opposite gender is a contagious disease" phase.
"Aug, you're gagging now, but in a few years, you'll be chasing after some girl, begging for romance," Alice teased her brother, earning a loving laugh from Pansy.
"Mum, any plans?" Francesca persisted. "Hannah Abbott was saying Dad was quite the romantic in his younger days. Did you have romantic anniversaries?"
Neville coughed uncomfortably at the mention of his ex-girlfriend, trying to change the subject, but Pansy reassured him with a comforting pat on the arm.
"He's more of a hopeful romantic," Pansy chuckled. "But we haven't properly celebrated an anniversary since Francie was born. It became even harder with Auggie along the way. Although we did have a few moments when Alice was a baby. People offered to babysit, but our hearts just wanted us all together."
"Francie and Auggie, the romance ruiners," Neville interjected with a smile. "I remember you two pulling me away whenever I tried to steal a kiss from your mum. And you, Auggie, were no less innocent, always glued to your mum's hip and crying every time I got near."
"I told you we should've given them up for adoption. You never took a seven-year-old's opinion seriously," Alice quipped, earning a playful tug on her hair from August.
"Nev, dear?" Pansy called, drawing her husband's attention away from their children. He hummed in acknowledgment, pulling her closer in a tender embrace.
"Do you remember when we tried to celebrate our tenth anniversary?" she asked, catching the children's attention with intrigue. "What do you mean 'tried'?" Francesca inquired eagerly.
On the twenty-fourth of December, Neville and Pansy finally decided to steal a moment for themselves and celebrate their anniversary with a quiet dinner at a charming Italian restaurant nearby. However, as fate would have it, parental duties refused to give them a break. Their three-year-old, August, was cranky with an ear infection and a nasty cold.
"Mama, I don't feel good," August whimpered, seeking comfort from his mother, who was engrossed in the latest edition of Witch Weekly. Pansy immediately scooped him up, her heart aching at his distress, and carried him out to the front porch where Neville was tending to the plants.
Meanwhile, Neville found himself in the midst of his own battle with his two daughters, aged nine and seven. Both were vying for his attention, their constant bickering wearing on his nerves. He adored his girls but wished for a moment of peace to hear them out without the arguments.
Surveying the watering can in his hand and the squabbling girls before him, Neville made a snap decision. Without a second thought, he doused both of them with water. "DAD, WHAT WAS THAT FOR?" Alice protested, while Francesca shot him a glare.
"Now that you're done arguing, care to tell me why you're out here?" Neville asked with a charming smile, trying to suppress his amusement at their soaked state.
"We haven't gotten a birthday present for me yet, and my birthday was ages ago," Francie complained, giving her best puppy-dog eyes. In reality, her birthday had been just three weeks prior, but she hadn't received a gift yet due to the busy household.
Neville dried Francie's hair with a towel, "We haven't gotten a birthday present for me yet, and my birthday was ages ago," Francie lamented, her expression adorned with puppy-dog eyes. In truth, her birthday had only passed three weeks prior, but the absence of a gift was undeniable.
Pansy had made promises, but the household's bustling errands had left little time for birthday shopping. "Yes, lovebug, we'll get you a present. What did you have in mind?" Neville inquired, gently drying her hair with a towel. "Dragon-hide Quidditch gloves, especially the red ones I adore. My old pair is completely worn out," Francie replied, her excitement evident.
Sighing heavily, Neville contemplated the cost of Quidditch gloves. Though he never played the sport himself, he understood their expense, given his friends' involvement. Despite Pansy's jests about their financial security – "Honey, you landed yourself a pureblooded witch, the sole heir; it's like winning the lottery" – Neville was wary of spoiling their children. He didn't want them to expect everything handed to them on a silver platter.
However, considering it was a birthday gift for their vivacious Francesa, he relented. "I'll discuss it with your mother, alright?" he proposed, eliciting a happy nod from his daughter.
Then, turning to Alice, who was still grumpy and shivering, he cast a warming charm on her and handed her a towel.
"Now, Miss Alice Longbottom, what's on your wishlist?" he inquired. She huffed, mentioning a book, "Ferdalland's Creek," specifically the new Christmas edition that would soon be unavailable.
"You can read any book in my study," Neville suggested, hoping to sway her. But Alice wasn't convinced. "Dad, all your books are about plants or herbology," she protested, unaware of the irony.
Neville, hurt by her disdain for his beloved subject, reminded her that plants and herbology was the reason they had food on the table. After some negotiation, he reluctantly agreed to her request, knowing her birthday was just around the corner.
As Neville bantered with Alice, he noticed Pansy approaching with August in her arms,
"He's got a bad cold. We've got to take him to St. Mungo's," Pansy announced, her concern evident as Neville cradled August in his arms. "Loves, why are the two of you drenched?" she inquired, turning her attention to both her daughters. Alice pointed accusingly at her father and replied, "Ask him." Pansy shot Neville a quizzical look, but he simply laughed it off.
"St. Mungo's? We were just talking about going there, Mama," Francie chimed in, eagerly approaching her mother. Pansy struggled to carry her daughter as she listened intently. "Why do you need to go to St. Mungo's?" she asked, puzzled by the sudden urgency. "Not St. Mungo's, but nearby, you know, Quality Quidditch Supplies. Al wanted to go to Flourish and Blotts," Francie clarified, her excitement palpable.
Wrapping August in a snug coat, they embarked on their journey to Diagon Alley, the children's excited chatter filling the crisp air. Their first destination was the hospital, where the doctor assured them it was merely a seasonal allergy, nothing serious.
Despite the reassurance, August shed a few tears when faced with the prospect of an injection. Alice offered comfort by holding his hand, while Francesa attempted to soothe him with a playful bribe. "Auggie, if you don't cry, I'll let you sit on my broomstick," she whispered, earning a sharp glance from her mother.
"Mother, you've got to appreciate humor. Or is it too much of a Slytherin trait to have any sense of humor at all?" the cheeky seven-year-old retorted, eliciting a laugh from the amused doctor. Pansy's cheeks flushed crimson, accustomed to Francesa's teasing antics. "See, he's quiet now. I told you bribery works, Mum," Francesa declared triumphantly after the shot was administered.
"Dad, can we please go to the Quidditch store now? It feels like forever since I've been there, and I've missed Madam Donnoricks," Francesa pleaded, tugging at her father's hand. Neville chuckled. "Fran, I think Madam Donnoricks was too busy to notice your absence," he teased, earning a grumble from his daughter.
"I think we should go to Flourish and Blotts. If I'm not mistaken, your dad wanted to pick up a book from there too, so we can kill two birds with one stone," Pansy suggested, causing Alice's face to light up. "Thank Merlin, I almost thought you'd forget I wanted something too," she quipped.
"Mum, you don't have to play favorites so obviously—August, Alice, and finally, little, annoying Francie," Francesa pouted, huffing all the way to the Quidditch store.
"I love them, really, but sometimes I just want to lock myself in the loo for an hour at least," Neville whispered to his wife once the girls were out of earshot. "Yeah, so much for the tenth anniversary," Pansy sighed sadly.
"Mum, can we please have ice cream?" Alice piped up as they stood in front of Florean Fortescue's ice cream parlor. "Honestly, if I say no, your sister will eat me alive. But don't get any for August; he's got a cold," Pansy replied.
"I want ice cream too," August said, his eyes brimming with tears. Pansy shushed him gently, promising to get him a pumpkin pastie instead. He nodded happily, planting sloppy kisses on his mum's face. "Mama, you taste like powder," he declared. Pansy laughed, "I'm glad you find my expensive powder tasty," as he continued to lick her face.
As Neville accompanied his daughters to Florean Fortescue's ice cream parlor, the atmosphere was anything but peaceful. Alice and Francie were bickering incessantly over trivial matters, causing Neville's patience to wear thin.
"I swear, if you two don't stop this incessant arguing, I'll drench you both in melted ice cream this time," Neville warned sternly. The threat seemed to have its desired effect as the girls fell silent, shooting each other cautious glances.
However, the peace was short-lived. On the way back home, Alice couldn't resist the temptation and took a big bite out of Francie's ice cream cone. Incensed by her sister's audacity, Francie retaliated by pulling Alice's hair, igniting a fresh round of squabbling.
As the squabble between Alice and Francie escalated, Pansy couldn't contain her frustration any longer. "Girls, enough! You're ruining what was supposed to be a nice outing," she scolded firmly. "You need to learn to get along and show some respect for each other."
Neville nodded in agreement, his expression mirroring Pansy's disappointment. "Your mother's right. We expect better behavior from you both," he added, his disappointment evident in his tone.
The girls hung their heads sheepishly, realizing they had overstepped their bounds. Despite their squabble, they knew they had disappointed their parents. With remorse in their eyes, they quietly accepted their scolding.
The ride back home was uncomfortably quiet, not the peaceful kind that usually followed a family outing. Pansy and Neville tried to engage their daughters in conversation, but their attempts were met with vague responses and lingering shame from the earlier incident.
"Loves, it's alright. These things happen, and it's natural to have disagreements with your siblings," Neville reassured them gently. "But you have to remember to respect each other's boundaries. Alice, you shouldn't have taken a big bite out of Fran's ice cream, and Francie, you shouldn't have pulled Alice's hair."
"Your dad is right. Alice, apologize to Francie. You're older, so you should set a good example and give her some space. And Francie, apologize to Alice. Cut her some slack, alright honeypies?" Pansy chimed in, despite Alice's audible groan at the endearment.
Reluctantly, the girls exchanged apologies, their embarrassment evident but their resolve to make amends stronger.
Making a brief stop at a smaller branch of Honeydukes, Pansy returned with pasties for everyone. August, in his usual fashion, managed to wear more of his pastie on his face than in his mouth, eliciting laughter from the whole family and easing the tension of the earlier disagreement.
After they arrived home, both Pansy and Neville were utterly exhausted, too drained to even consider moving, let alone keeping their dinner reservation. So, they decided to cancel it, opting for a quiet evening at home instead.
Once the kids were tucked into bed, Pansy made her way to the fridge and retrieved a tub of pumpkin-pie flavored ice cream for the couple. "My favorite, you remembered," Neville remarked gratefully as he accepted the bowl from his wife. "Couldn't even get some for me with those two constantly bickering in the store," he added with a chuckle.
"I know it's exhausting, but I wouldn't trade it for the world. I love what we have," Pansy replied, her voice tinged with affection.
"I love us too, and yes, I love those three pests too. They're perfect," Neville agreed wholeheartedly, sharing a laugh with his wife. As he noticed a smudge of ice cream on Pansy's lips, he couldn't resist leaning in to lick it off, eliciting a blush from her.
"Parkinson, are you blushing?" he teased, his eyes sparkling mischievously.
"Shut up, Longbottom," she retorted playfully, grabbing his collar and pulling him into a tender kiss.
"Happy anniversary, Parkinson," Neville whispered against her lips.
"Happy anniversary, Longbottom," Pansy replied, sealing their affection with another sweet kiss.
"I am highly offended that you'd call us pests, dad," August protested, his tone indignant. "And I consider myself a very important part of this story. Without me, you wouldn't even enjoy your anniversary in a true way."
"Shut up, August. You don't even remember anything; you were three with snot up your nose," Alice retorted, rolling her eyes at her younger brother. "Alice and I still do not get along. She's a bully," Francesa interjected, shooting her sister a pointed look. "Honestly, why do I put up with the both of you?" Alice muttered under her breath.
"Mum? I had a question," Francesa turned to Pansy, seeking clarification. "Yes, sweetheart?" Pansy replied, her attention fully on her daughter. "Your anniversary is on Christmas, and Alice is turning seventeen exactly a month after your seventeenth anniversary. Aren't you supposed to be pregnant for nine months?"
Pansy began to answer, but Neville intervened, not wanting to delve into that conversation with their fourteen-year-old. They couldn't tell her the truth—that they eloped when Pansy was eight months pregnant. That's a story for another time, probably in fifteen years.
"Will you look at the time? Get to bed, everyone. We've got to go to the Burrow tomorrow," Neville redirected the conversation once the kids had retreated to their rooms. As he washed the dishes, Pansy wrapped her arms around his waist from behind.
"Baby, why didn't you let me answer Francesa's question?" she inquired softly, planting kisses along his bare back. He turned around, trapping her between the kitchen island and his arms, lifting her onto the countertop.
"You seriously think I would let you tell the kids that I got you pregnant out of wedlock, was too much of a coward to propose to you until you offered to elope? Yeah, that's not happening," he confessed, his cheeks flushing with embarrassment.
Pansy couldn't help but laugh at his response. Embracing her husband tightly, she circled her arms around his neck and kissed him with all the love in the world. She knew that what they had was a forever kind of love.

Common room
Neville always got up early, a necessity he’d long attuned to as a one who tended living, growing things. Every gardener knew to water while the air and soil were still cool from night’s reprieve and to harvest produce while dew still clung to the leaves. Even if he kept the occasional odd hour tending oddities by the moon’s light, his body still woke him up at the same hour.
He noticed she took tea in the early hours of each day, long before their peers had begun to awaken, long before anyone but him had any interest in moving about at the start of their day. Pansy Parkinson sat at the large window of the eighth-year common room sipping her tea already dressed in silver and green, not a hair out of place.
Every morning, her eyes turned to follow him as he charted his course across the carpet.
Every morning, she’d raise a single brow to his nod.
Every morning after several hours spent in the greenhouses, he’d return for breakfast in the Great Hall. Pansy never showed. She didn’t show up for any meals.
This morning, he changed directions to head straight for Pansy where she sat in her tufted armchair.
“Why don’t you ever join us to eat?”
His voice sounded too loud in the silence of the otherwise empty room. Neville felt awkward standing before her in his work boots, a leather apron slung over his arm. She, in turn, ran her eyes over him from scuffed boots to uncombed hair. The teacup she held looked fragile in her slender hand, but didn’t make a sound when she turned to place it gently atop its saucer.
“Nobody wants to see me there.”
Pansy said the sentence in such a matter-of-fact way that he wanted to immediately refute her. She watched him patiently, allowing him to muse over her words and consider the truth of them.
He realized she was right.
There was no denying the way the other students treated her. The best of them only spoke to her when necessary. Most ignored her. Far too many refused to let her forget the way she’d offered Harry up to save her own skin.
“Do you mind if I join you?”
The Pansy of old who’d laughed with his bullies peeked out, curling a lip with her response. “And why would you want to do that? Do you feel sorry for me, Longbottom?”
“Nobody deserves to be alone.”
Neville knew what it was like to be alone. If he wasn’t bullied, he was ignored or overlooked. It was only thanks to luck and a few close friends that he’d survived until now. Forget about the snake and the sword and his recent bout of attention. He still felt alone and he wanted to help Pansy Parkinson.
“I do.” She glanced away from him with her admission of guilt.
“No, you don’t.” And without waiting for her permission, Neville sat down across from her.
Her lips thinned into a straight line as she turned to glare at him, but he held her stare. He’d friended Hermione Granger, after all, and survived her legendary temper.
His refusal to back down seemed to surprise her, the tension in her body relaxing just as quickly as it had appeared. She slumped back into her seat, and with a roll of her eyes and a swish of her wand, a second teacup appeared next to hers.
“Well, go on then. We can’t keep your flowers waiting.”
The smile he gave her brightened his entire face, one that had lost its baby fat and might even be called strikingly handsome. Pansy found herself unable to peel her eyes away from him as he proceeded to drink his tea in one gulp. The muscles in his bare forearms tensed and a scent distinctly warm and inviting wafted over her when he leaned down to place the used china on the table. She swallowed hard, pressing fingers deep into her thigh.
His eyes flickered up to meet hers and he smirked.
“No, Pansy, we certainly cannot.”

"Tell me how you want me."
Neville grins, shucks his t-shirt over his head.
"You gonna be a good girl today?"
She flicks him a coy glance, rolls one shoulder back.
"Maybe."
Neville rakes his fingers along the sides of her thighs, takes a steadying breath.
"Hands above your head."
There's a rebellious flicker across her face, but after a moment's consideration, Pansy stretches her arms up, arches her spine like a cat.
Her body is like a present for him to unwrap, and reverently, his palms slide into the dip of her belly, along the softness underneath the cage of her ribs. When his fingers slip under her shirt to pinch her nipples already hard, she moans. Her eyes flutter closed.
"Look at me."
Blue eyes snap back to his face, pupils blown.
His fingers clamp harder, and she writhes impatiently against him. Neville smirks, tugs his hands back. She gives an affronted little huff, and he grips her thighs, tugs her flush against his lap.
She's far too pleased by this, a self-satisfied little smirk on her face, so he reaches to swat her cunt, right where she's pressed against him.
"Be. Still."
Her body is practically vibrating with the tension of want, but she stills.
"Kiss me then," she whines.
"Ask nicely."
"Please, Daddy. Kiss me."
She knows he can never resist that, and he dips forward to claim her mouth. She whimpers softly, arching up to press her body against his.
He pulls away, replaces his mouth with two large fingers.
"Suck."
She swirls her tongue languidly, a smile on her just-bitten lips. His cock twitches, trapped between them.
She's so fucking gorgeous like this, gagging herself on his fingers. He wants to watch her looking up at him while she gags herself on his cock, but he also wants to hear her scream as he takes her from behind.
It's almost unfair, being this spoilt for choice.
"Hands and knees," he decides.
She grins and arranges herself slowly, rolling her spine and glancing back over her shoulder.
"Like this?" she asks, doe-eyed with false innocence.
He grips her hips, tugging down her knickers. Then he shoves his sweatpants down, lines himself up along her wet, tight slit.
"Like this." He fists a hand tight in her hair; she mewls and arches back, mouth open. He jerks his hips forward, thrusting hard until he bottoms out.
"Fuck, Pans." He groans, as she lets out a low, keening sound and clenches tight around him. The urge to move outweighs the urge to tease her, so he plows forward, meeting her impatient pace.
She gasps his name, her voice wild, and he releases her hair so he can wrap an arm around to pull her up against his chest.
"You gonna come for me, baby?"
"Please," she sobs, her small hand gripping desperately to his arm.
He snakes his hand to her clit.
"Let go, sweetheart."
She does— trembling underneath him, clamping tight. He only manages a few more strokes before following, rumbling a groan into her shoulder.
They flop heavy, boneless into the sheets, and Pansy curls tight around his back, winding a possessive leg around his middle.
"Was it alright?" Neville asks, stealing her hand to kiss each little finger.
"Mhm," she smiles into his neck, "but my turn to be Mommy next time."

"Breathe, love. BreaAAmph-"
Neville bit back the rest of his scream as his wife's teeth clamped on his left hand. Bad idea to place it near her shoulders.
"Darling, if you fucking tell me to fucking breathe one more time I am going to set this fucking place on fire!", Pansy spat after releasing her husband's hand.
"I'm thirsty!", she demanded.
Everyone in the room immediately scrambled about except for Parvati, the healer concentrating on the baby's exit. In a panic, Neville tried to find water as well but Parvati stopped him.
"Stay where you are, Neville. I'm more afraid of you knocking things over than your wife throwing a fit right now.", she said calmly, careful not to be heard by the wife in question.
Pansy spat another set of cursed words and said something about giving all of them a series of @#&%! hexes once she gets her hands on her wand.
Neville gave Parvati an apologetic look before going back to his wife's side, giving her a soothing back rub. Pansy relaxed for a bit before she gave another guttural scream as another set of contractions began.
"She's coming out!", Parvati informed and within moments the baby's cry filled the room.
Sophie Longbottom was carefully placed on her mother' chest and immediately stopped crying.
"She's beautiful, Pans. Thank you and I love you so much.", Neville said, already in tears, and placed a tender kiss on his wife's temple. His free hand reached down to cup their daughter's wild, dark brown hair.
Pansy leaned into her husband's strong arms and smiled.
Finally relieved, everyone sighed in unison.
Noticing this, Pansy quirked a brow and looked at them.
"What?"
Notes: I would like to think of this as one of the epilogues of A Dress with Pockets by Pacific Rimbaud. It's a great Pansville story I promise!

2022 Wrap Up
On the plus side, I'm certain I didn't do as much damage as last year. On the other plus side, I still read a hell of a lot of words. I think one of the factors in the reduction of readings is that I went back to the office (and traveling for work again) after Labor Day. I think probably the bigger factor here is that I started writing. I'm still just a little baby writer, but it does take a lot of effort. I published 32,517 words in 2022, which is wild and wacky and crazy for someone who's just fucking around and trying not to find out. I also spent some time lending my voice for opportunities that were too good to pass up. A truly mind-boggling number of hours were spent narrating portions of MoaM for a massive radio-show style project spearheaded by @rideboldlyride, as well as narrating a couple of chapters of a drarry fic for the 25 Days of Podfic in December.
Traditionally Published Books
In the name of transparency (and because it is here on this blog for all to find), I gave myself a goal of reading 12 books in 2022: one for each month of the year. That...did not happen. I read exactly two books: Morning Glory Milking Farm was the monster romance of my dreams; The Song of Achilles left me in a pile of weeping wreckage.
Total word count on traditionally published books of approximately 165,000 words.
Completed Fics
The vast majority of fics I read this year were in the Harry Potter fandom, although I did venture out to other fandoms every now and again. We'll keep those stats separate for simplicity's sake.
Harry Potter
In 2022, I read a total of 227 completed fics in the HP fandom, for a total word count of 2,121,452 words. The four fics that started the year in WIP status (and were subsequently completed) will be included in the WIP word count below.
Because I can, I want to break down some of the data.
The longest completed fic I read in 2022 was Draco Malfoy and the Mortifying Ordeal of Being in Love by isthisselfcare at 199,695 words.
The shortest completed fic I read in 2022 was that's my witch by mrsren coming in at 591 words.
I tend to gravitate toward one-shots for the factor of ease. When observing completed works only, one-shots comprise 86% of the fics I read this year, but only account for about 42% of words read.
My busiest month in sheer number of fics read was January, with 56 completed fics read and updates on 5 WIPs. The busiest month in terms of words read was February, with a total of 547k words read.
The last data point I wanted to spotlight was fics I read together with a group. This includes reads for various holidays, spontaneous group reads, birthday group reads, active WIP group reads, and multi-chapter group reads. This isn't something I track in my airtable, so I'm digging back through my old posts to tally this up and hoping for the best, but in 2022 group reads accounted for:
- 84 of one/two-shot fics read
- 4 of multi-chapter fics read
- 4 of WIPs read
I'm actually flabbergasted now that I see those numbers, because I attend as many group reads as I can, but there are still SO MANY that I miss.
AO3 RATINGS
Far and away, I read more Explicit fics than anything. They account for a whopping 76% of fics read. Fics rated Mature make up another 13%. I feel very little explanation is needed here: I'm a horny monster. The end.
PAIRINGS
Dramione remains my most widely-read ship, referenced as the sole main pairing in 174 (or 75%) of the fics. Only 45 of the fics I read (or 19%) had non-dramione main pairings, with the most popular being drarry, theomione, panville, ronsy, and krinny. The remaining handful of fics (those that don't fall into exclusively dramione, or explicitly non-dramione) are filthy, dirty threesome/foursome/moresome smut, which pair dramione at some point among the tangled limbs.
I adore rare pairs, and even found myself writing some this year (tomione, charmione, panville, krumgood, and bean)! Some of the rarest pairings I read this year included: Sirius/Minerva; Theo/Narcissa; Goyle/Hermione; Cormac/Hermione; Lucius/Pansy; Viktor/Ginny; Draco/Ron; and Thorfinn/Hermione.
Other Fandoms
I dipped my toe into the SW fandom and read one (singular) reylo fic, clocking in at 38.7k words. I was also lured into the S&B fandom to read a few darklina fics, aggregated to 13.2k words.
All in all, non-HP fics read this year totaled 51,905 words.
WIPs
At the start of the year, I was following 14 WIPs. Of these, 4 of them were completed during the year, and the word count on those remaining chapters was 171,161 words.
I picked up several more WIPs throughout the year. As of December 31, I am actively following 19 WIPs, with a few others that have been sitting on my back burner (read: no updates in 2022). Word count on the active WIPs is 664,725 words.
Total word count on WIPs is 835,886 words.
Final Tally
And with that said, my 2022 fanfic word count was 3,009,243 words and my tradpub word count was 165,000 words, for an approximate total of 3.174 million words read for pleasure this year.
This comes in at just shy of 41% of 2021's total fanfic reading, which is absolutely fucking bananas to think about. Clearly I didn't read near as much as I did last year. Though I still feel pretty pleased with the amount of reading I accomplished considering I did a fair bit of beta reading for some lovely writer friends this year, published 32.5k words of my own, and recorded a handful of hours of audio for a couple of fandom projects.
And let's be honest, this is probably a healthier balance anyway. I'm so excited to see what 2023 brings!

A letter from St Mungos gives Neville a terrible feeling...
Hope you enjoy it!
I know I said in the past two chapters that it was a year in their life, but I couldn't postpone this chapter any longer...

Remember that time? || Panville
A/N- I've decided to embark on a series of short drabbles centered on non-canon ships, such as Panville, Fremione, Harmione, and Druna. However, my main focus will be on Panville/Fremione. These drabbles will each have a specific theme. For example, in 'Remember when?', we'll take a trip down memory lane with Pansy and Neville, tracing their journey throughout the years. As for Fred and Hermione, I'm contemplating a similar approach. Perhaps we'll witness them navigating the complexities of married life, with Fred as the proprietor of a joke shop and Hermione serving as the Minister of Magic. Also, the pictures I have used, are not mine. Credits to the original artists. If at all anyone wishes for me to tag the artists, please let me know. Thank you.

Remember when we met accidentally?
Pansy observed her husband, Neville, tending to the plants in their backyard from the kitchen window. Setting aside her dishwashing duties, she abandoned the dishes and the drying cloth and made her way to the backyard greenhouse. Leaning against the door frame, she watched Neville potting a Belladonna plant with his back turned to her. It had become a habit for Pansy to twist her wedding band around her finger, a silent reassurance that despite the trials they faced after the war, everything had turned out alright. She had transformed into a better person.
Smiling at the sight of Neville engrossed in his botanical pursuits, she decided to playfully comment, "Nice arse you've got there, Mr. Longbottom." Startled, Neville turned to her, his face flushing red. Despite his heroics during the war, Pansy loved how her remarks could still make him blush. "Why thank you, but please, keep your comments to yourself. My wife won't be too happy; she's very possessive," he replied with a chuckle.
"That I am, and perhaps you should relay that message to the young women who flirt with you every time you visit Diagon Alley," Pansy retorted matter-of-factly, earning another laugh from Neville as he wiped his hands on a rag. "I'm going to miss you, Nev," she murmured, resting her head on his chest.
"Don't worry, love. I'll only be gone for a month, and then you'll join me," Neville reassured her, pressing a kiss to the top of her head. "A month is a long time. You're choosing your Hogwarts plants over your wife. I'll remember that the next time you come asking for plant-growing potions," Pansy joked softly.
"Parkinson, who taught you to be so dramatic? Aren't you supposed to be the independent pureblood woman you were raised to be?" Neville teased, gently tucking a strand of her hair behind her ear. "Shut up, Longbottom," she replied, rising on her tiptoes to kiss him.
"Baby, Remember when we met after the war?" she asked softly, her gaze lingering on their wedding bands, which gleamed in the sunlight filtering into the greenhouse.
"Please have a seat, Pansy," Headmistress McGonagall instructed as Pansy entered her office, her mind swirling with apprehension. After clearing up the potions desk following her last class with the fourth-year Hufflepuffs and Ravenclaws, Pansy had received a summons from the Headmistress via her patronus, leaving her feeling uneasy throughout dinner. With the recent capture of ex-Death Eaters, even those who had previously been granted leniency, Pansy couldn't shake the feeling that she might be called in for questioning as well.
"May I come in?" Pansy politely knocked on the door before entering the office, where she greeted McGonagall before taking a seat opposite the headmistress.
"Pansy, I have some news that I would like to discuss with you first," McGonagall began, her tone serious. Pansy nodded, her nerves evident as she fidgeted with her nails, a habit she had developed during the war when feeling anxious.
"I hope you remember Mister Longbottom, Neville Longbottom," McGonagall began, and Pansy couldn't help but feel a pang of guilt at the mention of that name. It was a name that haunted her, stirring up memories of regret and remorse every time it crossed her path – in newspapers, in crowds, anywhere. She had often fantasized about approaching him, falling to her knees, and pleading for his forgiveness for the countless reasons that weighed heavily on her conscience – from the taunts she had subjected him to during their school years to her inability to intervene when the Carrows tortured him during the war.
"Yes, Professor," Pansy replied, her voice catching in her throat. She felt an uncomfortable lump forming, rendering her speechless as she could do little more than nod in response to McGonagall's words.
"I have decided to appoint him as the Herbology professor after the Christmas break. Pomona took immediate retirement after she broke her leg going to the greenhouses last week." The revelation that Neville would be taking on the role caught Pansy off guard. It was an unexpected twist.
"I hope you have no problem, considering you'll be colleagues with an ex-classmate," McGonagall concluded. Pansy felt a mix of emotions flood over her. On one hand, she was relieved to be spared from questioning. On the other, she was apprehensive about facing Neville, the person she owed so many apologies to. Masking her true feelings with a practiced smile, she replied in a professional tone honed from years of navigating the intricacies of pureblood society.
"Of course, it will be delightful to have a colleague with whom I've shared seven years of classes," she said, rising from her seat and exiting the room.
Fast forward to the Christmas break, with most students having returned home for the holidays, Neville had arrived and was settling in. He easily mingled with the other teachers, who quickly warmed up to him. Even the few students staying behind during the break found themselves drawn to Neville's friendly and amiable demeanor.
However, it seemed that Professor Parkinson, Head of Slytherin and Potions Master of Hogwarts, was the only one giving the new professor the cold shoulder. It wasn't intentional; she simply couldn't bring herself to approach him and pretend that the past hadn't happened.
Rumors began circulating among the sixth and seventh year girls, the ones known for their mischief, suggesting that Pansy and Neville had attempted to date in their seventh year but had a falling out. Little did they know, their seventh year was overshadowed by the war.
One day, a deep voice interrupted her thoughts, a voice that belonged to a tall, broad-shouldered, handsome man. Neville Longbottom stood in her office, a sight that caught her off guard. He exuded confidence, with his sharp jawline, disheveled sandy hair, and muscular arms straining against his rolled-up sleeves. My god, he was going to be the death of her.
"Neville—sorry, Professor Longbottom? Uh, how may I help you? Please, come in," she stammered, trying to compose herself. But facing Neville, now transformed into a confident and striking man, was proving difficult. His presence seemed to fill the room, and she found herself unable to meet his gaze.
"Sorry, Professor, I was caught off guard. How may I help you?" she continued, turning away to busy herself with potion ingredients.
"Pansy? You know there aren't any students around. You don't need to be formal. We're classmates," he remarked casually, sensing her discomfort.
"I believe formality is necessary, especially during work hours. What is it that you need?" she replied, her tone more curt than intended. Instantly, she regretted her sharpness, reminded of how she had treated him during their school years.
"Plant growth hormone enhancement potion, please," Neville requested, keeping it simple. But then he realized that his recent interactions with the Potions professor had been a bit tense, so he decided to take a chance.
"Professor, I've noticed that I've been warmly welcomed by the students and all the other professors, except you. Is there another way you'd like to welcome me? Perhaps a late-night rendezvous at the greenhouses?" he added, flashing a playful wink.
Pansy found herself at a loss for words. Was Neville Longbottom flirting with her? As much as she wanted to feel flattered, guilt consumed her. She couldn't ignore the fact that she had made his life miserable during their seven years at Hogwarts. She had been a terrible person, allowing him to be bullied and tortured. If she were in his shoes, she would never forgive herself. In fact, she might even take legal action to keep her away.
"Flirting? You have the audacity to flirt with me after everything I put you through?" Pansy burst out, her voice rising with each word. She couldn't contain the surge of emotions flooding her, the guilt, the regret, and the self-loathing.
"How can you pretend that the seven years at Hogwarts didn't happen, that I didn't make your life a living hell? I was cruel, Neville. I let you be tormented, I stood by and did nothing. If I were you, I wouldn't even want to look at me, let alone flirt!" Her words came out in a rush, fueled by years of pent-up remorse and shame.
Neville's expression softened, his eyes filled with understanding. "Pansy, that was a long time ago. We were kids, and we've both grown since then. I don't hold any grudges, and I certainly don't blame you for what happened. We've all made mistakes."
But Pansy couldn't shake off the weight of her past actions. "No, you don't understand. You were always kind, always brave, even when I didn't deserve it. I'm sorry, Neville. I'm so sorry," she whispered, her voice trembling with emotion.
Neville approached Pansy slowly, his gaze gentle as he reached out to place a reassuring hand on her shoulder. "Pansy, it's okay. We were both different people back then. We've all made mistakes, but that doesn't define who we are now."
His touch was comforting, a warmth spreading through her as she met his eyes, seeing nothing but sincerity and compassion reflected in them. "You were just as much a victim of the circumstances as I was. We were all caught up in something much bigger than ourselves," he said softly.
Pansy nodded, a sense of relief washing over her at his understanding. "Thank you, Neville. For being so understanding, for forgiving me," she murmured, her voice choked with emotion.
They sat in silence for a moment, the weight of their shared past hanging in the air between them. Then, with a tentative smile, Neville suggested, "How about we start over? Leave the past behind us and focus on the present. Friends?"
Pansy returned his smile, feeling a glimmer of hope blooming within her. "Friends," she agreed, knowing deep down that their bond would only grow stronger with time.
As they shared a brief moment of camaraderie, both Pansy and Neville couldn't help but sense the unspoken connection between them, a silent acknowledgment that perhaps, just perhaps, their journey together was far from over.
The warmth of their embrace lingered for a moment longer, enveloping them in a cocoon of shared memories and unspoken promises. But just as quickly as it had begun, their intimate moment was interrupted by the sound of three loud shrieks, echoing through the greenhouse.
Neville and Pansy turned towards the source of the noise, their children rushing towards them with boundless energy. August, their son, reached out eagerly for his mother, while Alice and Francesa clamored for their father's attention.
"Well, we had a good 15 minutes to ourselves, didn't we?" Pansy remarked with a playful grin, scooping up August into her arms as their daughters enveloped Neville in a tight embrace.
Despite the interruption, there was a sense of contentment in the air as they gathered together as a family, the love and warmth shared between them serving as a reminder of the precious moments they cherished together.

20 Opening Lines Rules: List the first lines of your last 20 stories (if you have fewer than 20, just list them all!). See if there are any patterns. Choose your favourite opening line. Then tag some people to take part.
I was tagged by the lovely @heyjude19-writing! Thanks! If you love Dramione check their fics!
1. He did not like the way Rhuarc looked at him as if he had never seen him before. (A musician’s fate, Wheel of Time, my Asmodemption fic, has been my headcanon for years, finally started writing it!)
2. Even though she was so small, Harry could see that her wings fluttered in panic as she tried to escape the rubber band that had twisted around her ankle. (The Perils of Fairy Dust, Dramione, finished, long fic, just needs the epilogue, I need to decide which PoV to take for that!)
3. “It’s just the jitters, Hermione,” said Ginny. “I almost ran away to New Zealand a week before my wedding with Harry.” (Only you – Or the only time Hermione believed in divination, Dramione, oneshot, written for the Dramione RomCom fest the sequel)
4. The glittering sparks descended on Leo Malfoy-Granger and stuck to his skin giving him a distinctly fairy look. (The Narrow Escape of Antony Goldstein, Dramione, finished, 4 chapter, Mutually beneficial Universe, written for the DHr Monsterfucking Mini Fest 2021)
5. Pansy had done it. (The Perks of Casting a Patronus, Panville, long fic, finished, Phoenix Potion Universe)
6. Harry waited to tell the news to the others until Hermione had left. (An unexpected wedding guest, Dramione, Mutually beneficial Universe, 3 chapters)
7. When Harry entered the kitchen of Grimmauld place, he saw Ron was already awake despite the early hour. (The Phoenix Potion, novel-length fic, Dramione, Panville, Bluna, my favourite baby)
8. As if one mark wasn’t enough (Surprise Soulmates, Dramione, 3 chapters, box_of_chocolates with beautiful art by @hiyasdoodles)
9. Personal points were the reason why Pansy’s feelings were very mixed, when she was paired with Theo for the night patrol. (Skirting the Carrows’ decrees, Panville oneshot)
10. Samwell tried not to gawk too openly. (Judicatrix, Jonsa, long fic, Historical AU)
11. Draco’s boss came into his office before he had finished his morning coffee, but there was no use giving not so subtle hints that it was too early in the morning - not with Luna Lovegood. (Tylwyth Teg - Fairies on a Welsh Mountain, Dramione, oneshot, written for the Mad Frankenstein Fest, art by @ernestine88)
12. They sat in a nice muggle restaurant. (Mutually beneficial, Dramione, Oneshot, written for Happy Birthday Mr Malfoy)
13. The howling wolves came nearer every night. (Words from the Heart, Jonsa, one shot)
14. Jon held his fosterfather’s hand in despair. (Habits of the Freefolk, Jonsa, canonbent AU, 15 chapters)
15. The letter would have to be short so as not to raise suspicion. (To hide a secret, Jonsa oneshot).
16. Jon returned in spring. (Frail, Jonsa oneshot)
17. The Queen had been in a fit for half a day, so that everybody had tread carefully, especially Sansa’s father, Ned Stark, Hand of the king and the regent of the seven kingdoms. (Sweet Poison, Nedsei and Jonsa, oneshot very AU)
18. The lords were in a “wedding mood” as Sansa called it to herself. (A thousand eyes and one, Jonsa, oneshot)
19. Jon woke with a start. (To go South, Jonsa, long fic, my Jonsa baby)
20. When he greeted Tyrion from the shadows at the window when his brother entered the room his voice sounded still raspy and did not sound like himself at all. (Fire touched, Jonsa, Braime, 10 chapters)
I must admit, I don’t see any pattern apart from the fact that I seem to just dive into the story. lol.
I think I’ll pick this one as my fav: “It’s just the jitters, Hermione,” said Ginny. “I almost ran away to New Zealand a week before my wedding with Harry.”
It’s dialogue (my strength), and I think it sets the light hearted mood of the fic quite well. My second fav is The howling wolves came nearer every night. for the same reason. It sets the slightly eerie mood of the fic.
I tag @kyliafanfiction @butterflydm @undeadlilies @incognitotoro @periwinkle39 @niffizzle @kallypsowrites @cappymightwrite and anyone who wants to play!

April Wrap Up
How in the ever-loving hell is it May already? I'm not at all sure how this happened, but the month passed in an absolute whirlwind for me. April was an even busier month at work than March was (🍅🍅🍅🍅), and I'm so glad to see the end of it. I also didn't think it was possible, but I read even less this month than I did last month. Boo hiss, I hope that never happens again.
Things I Wrote
So I don't have anything completed for this month, but umm...somehow I now have 6k words written for the yet-entitled panville lumberjack porn-with-significantly-more-than-intended-plot. Oop. I should have this little baby complete in the next week or so and I am beyond excited about it.
Things I Read
I have relapsed. I read exactly one book in March, the books on my shelf trembled in excitement all April, and then I resolutely ignored them. I feel incredibly guilty and I shan't talk about it further.
On the fanfic side of things, this month was a little more diverse in terms of pairings. I got to experience two lovely drarry fics being read by one of my dear friends. And then there's a fair few multi-pairings because I was anxious and stressed and I'm a horny little monster.
Fiction:

Things I'm Currently Reading (Heading into May)
So I started reading Draco Malfoy and the Mortifying Ordeal by @isthisselfcare this month. I am 13 chapters in and having the goddamn time of my life. The only reason I haven't devoured the whole thing by now is that we're reading as a group over in the RoR discord server and my friends have asked me to go into each live read blind so they can enjoy my unfiltered reactions. They're lucky I love them. Bless. I've also, umm, started reading a manhwa and it is all @juls99 and Ash's fault. I'm now 131 chapters into Suji Kim's Under the Oak Tree. Bless them for letting me scream in their DMs.
Have a lovely May, friends! The days are getting longer, the weather is getting warmer, and the world is getting greener. See you next month!
