Hello friends, work has been kicking my ass and I am soooooo behind on tags. I am slowly but surely catching up and looking forward to reading all the things! So, small confession... I've been reworking pieces of come close (let me be home) so some of the snippets might look familiar from before. Hoping the writing beans will soon allow me to make new words. Until then, have this Eddie and Christopher moment before the first ball (all prev snippets here) 😘
“This awful, cursed thing— Argh!” Eddie drops the ends of his bowtie in frustration. It’s not like he even wants to attend this wretched ball tonight. Least of all to placate his mother.
It would be different if he were going as someone who could casually stand in the background, sipping lemonade and observing his surroundings. If only it were that simple. Instead he’s expected to not only be there, but socialize, dance, and interact with potential partners. How is he meant to choose who he’ll spend the rest of his life with – someone to care for his son – based on how well they can perform the quadrille or regurgitate meaningless facts? It’s utter insanity.
“Daddy?” The timid voice reaches out from behind him.
Eddie turns to see Christopher hovering in the doorway, watching intently. The welcome sight is enough for the weight of tonight’s expectations to fall away, finally allowing him to breathe. He goes to his son, picking him up and drinking in the surprised sound.
“What can I do for you, sir?”
Christopher’s nose scrunches in amusement at the endearment before he gets a very serious look on his face. “Can I come with you?”
“I wish,” Eddie huffs out a humorless laugh. “It would make things way more interesting. Although, honestly, I’d much rather stay here with you.”
“Why don’t you then?” Christopher blinks owlishly behind his glasses.
Eddie envies his youthful ignorance for not yet understanding the pressures and politics of adulthood. He sighs and rubs his temple with his free hand, trying to think of an explanation that isn’t an outright lie. With everything that’s happened in Christopher’s short life, Eddie always strives to be honest with him.
“Well, because,” he stretches the words out as his brain continues to configure them into an acceptable arrangement. “I– promised your abuela I would go.”
Chris nods thoughtfully, seeming to accept the answer he’s been given. But, of course, he’s always been more perceptive than Eddie gives him credit for.
“Is this because Abuela wants me to have a new mom?” His voice is quieter, the tone colored with hesitation. Eddie wants to somehow pull him closer, to carve a space beneath his ribs to keep him safe.
“Not a new one, exactly. You know that no one could ever replace your mother. This would be someone else to love and take care of you.”
“But I thought that’s why we have Carla,” Chris protests.
Eddie chuckles at his son’s logic and thinks he might be the one person who could match wits with Helena Diaz. “You’re right. She does both of those things. Carla loves and cares about you very much. It’s just… your abuela has some different ideas. She’s a little stuck in the past sometimes.”
“Okay.” Christopher grins brightly, removing any traces of his serious persona. “Then I hope you have fun and find someone nice for us.”
“Me, too, bud. Me, too.”
Eddie’s brought back to reality when his valet announces the carriage is ready. He presses a kiss to Christopher’s temple and gently sets him on the floor. “Be good for Carla?”
“I’m always good for Carla.” Christopher proudly puffs out his chest.
“Of course. How could I forget?” Eddie teases. “I must be remembering a different little boy that got covered in mud while playing and had to be scrubbed clean.”
Chris rolls his eyes. “One time,” he mumbles.
Eddie snorts as he jogs down the staircase, hoping in vain to burn off some of his nervous energy that’s returned. His cloak is nearly arranged when Christopher calls from the upper floor.
“Daddy! Your tie!”
Right. Eddie sighs and makes a final attempt to knot the material together in front of the hall mirror. Miraculously he makes it in one pass this time and turns with a flourish so Christopher can make his assessment.
His son beams down at him with a toothy grin. “Be good for Abuela!”
Eddie responds with an exaggerated bow, drinking in the giggle that floats down. He snaps it up, like something he could keep in his pocket. A protective barrier from whatever he might have to face tonight. With a heavy sense of dread sitting like a stone in his stomach, Eddie waves goodbye and walks outside to the carriage. As he steps up to the plush, velvet, forest green bench, he wishes it felt less like marching to the Tower of London.
“Ready, sir?” His driver asks from the front.
No. “Ready.”

Lilies & Lavender
Lavender
a Stobin Month 2024 prompt | 712 words | CW: assumed cheating, lavender marriage, nosy neighbors | Rating: G
--
“Mrs. Grayfield thinks you’re cheating on me,” Robin says as she hands him another bag of soil.
Steve snorts, swiping at his face with the back of his gloved hand to brush off the dirt he knows he feels on his face. “She always thinks someone’s cheating,” he says. He rips open the bag of soil and starts adding it to the new pots they just bought for the porch. “Remember when she made that big fuss about the Levinsons? Turns out, they had their extended family living with them for some time.”
“Yeah, but this time she has, like, actual evidence,” Robin says, grunting with the effort of moving the new lilies they’d picked up that morning. “Tell me again why we’re not putting these beautiful plants in our actual garden?”
“Our flower beds get too much shade,” Steve says. “I want to see how they do in the pots out here first before we commit to rearranging the back flower beds.” He squints up at her. “You were the one who said the porch was missing something.”
She shrugs. “I was more so thinking we could freshen up the upholstery on the bench.”
Steve waves her off. “This is better.” He takes the flower from her and together they replant it in its new home, a massive flower pot that’ll take up a good chunk of space on their porch. “What evidence does she have?”
“Evidence?”
“You said she had evidence I was cheating?”
“Oh!” Robin giggles. “She saw Chrissy leaving the other morning.”
Steve laughs and shakes his head. “This is why I think Ed and Chris should just move into the place around the corner. Then we wouldn’t have to explain the cars to anyone.”
“But then Chrissy would lose her bay window,” Robin says, “and I am not prepared to deal with her losing that window.”
“I think you both would live.”
“And can you imagine if Eddie has to deal with noise complaints every other day?”
Steve groans and grabs the next plant to place beside the first lily. “You’re right, it's a horrible idea.”
Robin’s quiet while they finish transferring the lilies to their new pots, all eight of them neatly planted in the two pots to frame their porch steps where they can get the most sun possible. “Should we get a divorce?”
“We could, but what’s the point? It’s not legal to marry who we actually want to marry and the benefits we get from being married are too good to pass up on. And personally,” Steve says as he takes off his gloves to actually scratch at his face, “I don’t feel like dealing with the headache of splitting our assets unless we need to.”
“Good point.”
“Plus,” Steve smirks, “if we’re divorced, we can’t use the spouse excuse.”
Robin beams. The spouse excuse is something all four of them use to get out of things, sure, but for Steve and Robin, they like to remind their partners of who they’re actually married to from time to time. It’s the best way to keep their sacred sleepovers – no one can argue that a husband and wife are meant to spend the night together.
She looks at their hard work. The lily pots still need to be moved to where they’ll actually be sitting, the white flowers bright against the terracotta pots. “Do you think it clashes with the lavender?” She motions to the lavender plants lining their flower bed and the paved path that connects to their driveway.
Steve shakes his head. “And even if it did, it’s only temporary.”
“What time’s Eddie coming over?”
“Three. We have to leave by four to get to the concert though. You sure you two don’t want to come with?” Steve asks.
Robin hums. “I think we’ll pass. I want some quiet one-on-one time with her before the anniversary trip, you know?”
Steve nods, but out of the corner of his eye, he sees Mrs. Grayfield watching from her own garden. He leans over and kisses her cheek. “Sounds wonderful, dear,” he says a little louder. “My dearest wife, would you mind grabbing the hose so we can water the flowers?”
She catches on quick, grin impossibly wider. “Anything for you, darling husband of mine.”

Even before the episode, while rewatching old seasons, I was just struck by how big an impact Buck’s had on Eddie’s life.
Like, please, picture this:
You are Eddie Diaz, ok? An army vet who quite literally just went through an extremely traumatic experience, immediately got left by your wife and in a desperate move to find happiness for you and your son you move across the country to start a new life.
You are the new guy at work and this man about your age really has it out for you. That’s fine by you. You’ve put up with enough bullshit in the army, you are just here to do your work, it’s harder than that to get under your skin. Plus, this guy seems okay, aside from all the dick measuring, and you’re sure he’ll tire himself out if you just don’t play along. Then, oh surprise, after a single shift you give the guy one compliment and he folds completely, before you know it he’s decided you two are friends. Fine, good. You miss the army’s camaraderie. This will probably be just like that.
Few weeks in, Christopher comes up. You hesitate because you don’t like talking about your kid with strangers, but you are worried about him being out there alone during the earthquake and there’s really no way to avoid the subject forever. You’re already dreading the pity looks from people who don’t understand this kid is the best thing that’s ever happened to you. Instead, you get a wide smile, “he’s super adorable, I love kids”. In retrospect, you should’ve expected it. What you don’t expect is the way Buck spends the entirety of the shift reassuring you that Chris is alright, even when you’re pretty sure you’ve done nothing to betray your worry (you know better than to panic, it does nothing to help), but Buck seems to notice anyway and keeps sprouting curiosities to reassure you. He even drives you across the torn up town at a reckless speed to make sure you can reach your son as soon as possible.
Few weeks later, abuela has an accident. Buck drives you to the hospital, even though you could’ve taken a cab to the firehouse to pick up your truck, and goes all the way in with you. He’s a good friend like that. Turns out, he’s a very good friend, because he catches you by surprise calling ahead to let the Cap know you need help with Chris and arranges a whole day of him hanging out with the 118. You didn’t ask for it, and he doesn’t expect so much as a ‘thank you’.
Next night, he makes a big deal of introducing you to a woman and you are already dreading, once again, the reveal moment when you have to explain that thank you very much but you are still married and really your only priority right now is your son and- wait, that woman is the perfect caretaker that might or might not be the solution you’ve been desperately searching for to get your and your son’s life together.
This guy you just met a few weeks ago has given you friendship, reassurance, company, thoughtful help without you ever asking (you’ve never been good at asking for it) and he’s just sitting there smiling proudly while he helps you possibly assure your kids future.
All of this... it happens in the first FOUR episodes of s2 after Eddie is introduced. No wonder he’s in love ride or die for Buck. Who wouldn’t be?
In a year, they are inseparable. In two years, Eddie makes him Christopher’s legal guardian in case he dies. In three, Buck saves his life. In four they are basically a family and the person Christopher goes to in a panic. Five years in, Buck is in a coma and Eddie Diaz cannot even look at him, cannot picture a world where he’s dead, cannot envision his life without him.

Home Sweet Home
Tumblr media
Characters:
Eddie Diaz x Female!Reader
Summary:
The reader and Eddie are living in together with Christopher. You just got home and saw Eddie sleeping in the couch, waiting for you.
Nothing but fluff and sweet conversations
A/N:
I haven’t written anything in a while. Let’s see if I still have it lol!
It’s been a long day for you.
You finished a lot of works today and all you wanted is to crash into the bed and have the best sleep you can get before another long day tomorrow.
You went inside the house and upon opening the light, you saw Eddie lying on the couch, peacefully sleeping.
A smile immediately formed in your lips.
You put down your keys and your bag by the rocking chair and you approached your sleeping boyfriend.
It’s been 2 years since you two met.
There was a huge fire that took place in the hotel you used to work at. You got trapped in one of the guest's rooms because you were trying to rescue one of the guests too. Good thing the firefighters from 118 came to rescue you, and it was Eddie who saved you when you were almost hit by a falling debris.
You owe your life to Eddie.
If it weren't for him, you wouldn't be where you are today.
A few days after the fire, he checked up on you to see you're okay and that you're not experiencing any trauma. Then he went back again after a week, not to just check on you but to get your number. Since the day he got your number, the two of you are constantly exchanging messages.
Until one day, he finally asked you out, and the rest was history.
"Hey," you gently caressed his cheeks to wake him up.
His eyes slowly flicker and when he saw you, he got up and sat down on the couch, "I fell asleep while I was waiting for you."
You sat down beside him, "Yeah, I noticed that."
"You worked pretty late today," he said as he stretched his arms.
"We had a lot of issues today with our upcoming group, so I had to stay and negotiate with them. Good thing I'm finally home," you answered.
He wrapped his arms around you and hugged you as warm as he could make you feel, "Yeah, you're home. Chris was actually waiting for you too, but I guess he fell asleep." You felt Eddie kissed your head, "I guess I'm not the only one who misses you."
"Aww, I miss you and Chris too,” you answered as you rest your hand on top of his chest.
This is what made you so excited to come home — to feel secured and happy in the arms of your boyfriend. Ever since you two moved in together, you stopped experiencing nightmares that you’ve been experiencing since you were a kid. And every single time you wake up in the morning, your heart is filled with so much love just by seeing Eddie and Chris.
“By the way,” Eddie faces you but his arms are still wrapped around you, “It’s my off this weekend. I’m planning to take you and Christopher out.”
“That sounds like a nice plan to me,” you answered with a smile on your face.
“Are you sure you’re okay to go out with us? I’m worried you might have to work this weekend, given the circumstances you’re dealing with right now,” he said.
You cupped his right cheeks and assured him that it’s totally okay, “I’m off this weekend too anyways. Plus, I’ve been wanting to go out with you and Chris. I can’t even remember the last time we went out, just the three of us.”
“How ‘bout on Monday?”
“On Monday?” your brows furrowed in confusion, “Chris has school, right?”
“Yeah, but I’m talking about just the two of us,” he said. “I mean, the three of us are already going out this weekend, so I’m wondering if we can have Monday just for the two of us. Like, after we drop Christopher off his school, we can go somewhere, then we’ll pick him up in the afternoon afterwards.”
“I mean, I can take a day off on Monday too, but are you sure you want to go out on Monday? Just the two of us?” you asked.
He grabbed your hand and smiles at you, “Why not? It’s only fair to have some quality time for both of us, right?”
In all honesty, you are excited for some quality time with Eddie.
It’s been a long time since the two of you dated, because the two of you will always think of Christopher first. After all, you promised to each other that Christopher will be part and the top priority of your relationship.
“Sure,” you replied. “So where are you taking me?”
He winked at you, “That’s for me to know and for you to find out.”
“God, you are so full of surprises!” you commented.
Your relationship with Eddie has been both a blessing and a gift. He’s been there with you, through the ups and downs of your life, through thick and thin, through turns and twists. It was like he completed the real meaning of “love” in your life. And there’s no other person you would rather take the risk of falling in love than him.
“Why are you looking at me like that?” he suddenly asked you, not knowing that you’ve been staring at him.
You shook your head as you fix his hair and gave him a smile.
Well, you know your boyfriend too well. He’s not gonna take that as an answer, “Come on, tell me.”
“I just realized how damn lucky I am,” you confessed and you felt his hands on top of yours, “All my life I’ve been looking for someone who could finally understand me, who could love me and teach me to love myself even better. I’m so glad I finally found you.”
“No,” he kissed the back of your hand and gave you a reassuring smile, “I found my way to you. Right from the moment I saved you, my heart already knew you weren’t just a stranger that I needed to save. I had a hard time forgetting you, so I stopped trying to forget you instead, I accepted the truth that you are someone I won’t be forgetting.”
“I know I’m hard to forget,” you joked.
Eddie chuckles, “I have no plans of forgetting you,” he extended his arms around you and pulled you towards his chest, “You’re stuck with me, whether you like it or not.”
“I have no plans of resisting,” you answered.

Inspirational Saturday
hi everyone, I was barely active cause mental health is a bitch and I wasn't writing for days, but today i finally broke this block and started a new wip I named "please, stop twisting knife(never wanted to cause your pain)" where Eddie is going to be engaged to a wrong guy for a moment and date this guy for longer moment, not seeing how he destroys his and Buck's friendship (Buck's insecurities and Eddie the king of denial Diaz are gonna be in the fic for long time) I was tagged today by @monsterrae1 <33 meet the moodboard and 966 words of angst I wrote cause I wasn't posted for a moment
Tumblr media
“I still don't know how I can help choose the ring for the guy I met like …,” Buck tries to remember all the situations he was with Alec at least in one room,  “3 times? And let's not forget he is not my biggest fan,” Buck says, trying to sound casual. But everyone in the shop, except Eddie, looks strange at him. “Don’t you think Chris, Pepa, Hen, Karen, Chim or Maddie, Bobby or Athena, hell even Ravi, could be a better choice? They at least know him.”
“And he would not be angry with you for spending time with them. Them not me,” is left unspoken, but Buck has to bite his lip hard not to let it slip from him.
Buck turns away from Eddie, who looks so beautiful and joyful admiring rings. His face has this pure happiness and smile, Buck would be drinking like crazy, like the most thirsty man alive, seeing the purest water, if it wasn’t the face Eddie has because he wants to marry someone else. The guy who made them strangers. Even if Eddie keeps trying to deny it.
They are not family. They do not have movie nights or dinners, or even fucking calls and texts between them. Buck, thank god to Chris’ stubbornness, has it only with a boy. Mostly calls or texts, of course, because dinners or movies are barely even possible in between Buck’s shifts, Chris' school and social life. Plus to it Eddie and Alec’s attempt to create a family by constantly having family activities, and Buck left behind so easily.
He is just a memory now. And he always would remember who he was all those years. Temporarily replacement of a missing part for the third member of Diaz household, while Eddie was getting ready to find someone to be permanent. While he was getting ready to let someone take this place to never leave again.
Really, Buck is not even surprised he was so easily replaced. Just some words from Alec about him wanting Eddie to spend less time with Buck, Buck saying yes man, no problem, and now they are here. Him being not even a friend for Eddie. But just a guy who he still works with.
Eddie can deny it how he wants, but they are not friends anymore. They are closer to being strangers than friends.
Isn’t it the most painful of all of this situation?
Buck thought he had Eddie on his side forever, but he lost him too fast. He couldn’t even say a word because Eddie is happy. And why shouldn't he be?
He has an amazing partner and the best teenager in the world as a family. They are adopting the cat soon. Eddie and Alec want to buy a house together because they started to talk about a new kid in the future, and they just want more space for their family. Family where Buck would not have any place because he is not wanting here by big part. And he wouldn’t even try to make Alec angry trying to be here.
Just the thought that he knows all about Eddie’s plans for the future from someone, not from him, makes Buck sick, like someone twisting the knife into his guts, so he tries to concentrate on the rings the seller shows them.
At least about the engagement he found out from Eddie.
But Buck wishes to hear it from anyone else. Seeing Eddie’s face today, when the knocks on his door was too long and too exciting, almost screaming in Buck’s face how he needed to find the perfect ring right now and Buck should help him, destroyed part of his heart he considered dead for weeks, maybe even months, to never be recovered ever again.
He felt and still feels the sharp blade opening his back, cutting out his lungs to get to his heart, sticking and leaving the knife in his almost non-beating organ.
Buck can’t stop thinking, if he would be staying alive a little longer after lighting, would it feel the same, or would a heartbreak by the man who had your heart in his hands for years be way worse? Should Buck buy the suit for his funeral and not Eddie’s wedding?
“Yeah, I could ask them, but it would make no sense to buy the ring with them as they are not my best friend and not gonna be my best man,” Eddie grins at him sheepishly and Buck just forces the smile he perfected for years, making people believe he is fine.
He never used it with Eddie.
“Best friends, huh? What I was doing for the last nine months, Eddie? What books have I read? What movies have watched? Who is my celebrity crush of the week? A year ago you would answer easily. Now you don’t even know I’m moving to the house I bought some weeks ago.”
It rushes through his brain, making Buck hate himself for being petty and not staying truthful to his words to always have Eddie’s back, even though he knows for Eddie it means nothing now, but not for him.
For him it was a vow he takes with him to grave. So he presses his little overgrown nails so deep into the skin of his palm that he almost feels like cutting through the skin, and says, “I’m proud to be your best man. Let’s try to choose the perfect ring.”
Buck swallows blood in his mouth from all the organs being crushed and chopped into bloody soup inside him when Eddie just smiles like he can’t see - and Buck hates that he actually can’t, that Eddie never saw him - how he breaks him and shows Buck two rings he likes the most.

I believe 'cause you're Christmas to me
the christmas tree fic full of shannon feels is finally here! <3
rating: G
words: 4.3k
summary: While the Buckley-Diaz boys decorate their Christmas tree, Eddie can't help but get emotional about Shannon, their past Christmases, and the hopeful future with his boyfriend.
[read on Ao3]
___
And now there’s Buck. His best friend, his co-parent, his partner… and since very recently, his boyfriend. It’s fairly new, just a few weeks, but it doesn’t feel like it. Eddie feels as if they’ve been together for years now. In a way, they have. They’ve been dancing around their feelings for such a long time, Eddie’s not even sure when it started. But they made it official just a while back, and the transition from friendship to romance surprisingly felt like the most natural and easiest thing in the world. Like it was always meant to happen.
This year it’s their first Christmas together as a couple, and Eddie thought he’d be nervous, but he’s really not. It’s the most normal thing, buying gifts for their kid together, decorating the house together, picking out a tree. The thing is, Buck loves Christmas. He hasn’t had the best Christmases as a child, but he loves it now, and always wants to make it as special for Christopher as possible, and wants to give him everything Buck always wanted but didn’t get. Eddie loves watching him match Chris’ enthusiasm, and being genuine about it, and, above all, making him excited about Christmas – that first one after Shannon’s death was tough, but, after all, so is his kid. Now it’s just an opportunity to connect with his mom, honor her, feel her presence in the Christmas spirit. Plus, having Buck here helps to keep the Christmas atmosphere, while he still makes sure there’s room for some reminiscing.

This is for the lovely @a-little-unsteddie hope this was what you were wanting!
“No, no way Chris.” Eddie starts his monologue the same way he’s been starting his monologues lately. Eddie knew Chrissy was a troublemaker that’s what made them best friends in the first place. So he doesn’t really know what he could’ve expected when Chrissy asked him to be her maid of honor(he’s honored really!) but it definitely wasn’t to come get a manipedi with the rest of the bridesmaids. Why does she need a manipedi anyways, her nails are looking great as ever(acrylic with tiny gemstones a light purple-ish color).
“Why not? You paint your nails. What's so wrong with somebody painting yours for you? Plus you get a free massage out of it.” She agrees, clearly done with the conversation they’ve been having for the past thirty minutes.
Eddie doesn’t hate the idea of of getting a manipedi he just prefers to do his nails himself and honestly he’s offended that chrissy doesn’t think he’s capable of his nails turning out nice and neat(he isn’t he gets too impatient and they typically turn out smudge, chipped, and smushed). The part that he isn’t going to enjoy is all the gossip and don’t get him wrong he loves gossip but he doesn’t enjoy listening to middle aged women gossip about how much they hate their husbands.
He also knows that the bridesmaids and Chrissy are all going to gossip but he’s heard all that gossip before, plus he knows he’s not going to be able to sit still for X amount of time. So Eddie going to go get a manipedi is a bad idea for many reasons but chrissy doesn’t seem to be budging and he knows it’s her wedding and she knows that he’s going to say yes either way and him denying is all for good fun.
He lets out a dramatic and long sigh before ending the conversation. “Fine, I’ll go.” He puts his hands up in a surrender after he says that so Chrissy knows he’s serious. Her answering smile is everything Eddie needs to know this is a great idea.
— The day of the wedding Eddie and the girls are all squished into a car to be pampered(which Chrissy forgot to inform him that they’d also be getting their hair styled, she knows how he feels about his hair, the rat). Which leads them to their last stop, The nail salon which doesn’t look as ominous as he thought.
He’s squished in the middle between jenna and Molly who is talking enthusiastically over him about some guy name Carl(gag carl was one of the hair stylist doing kelly’s hair he kept making creepy comments about kelly’s hair he honestly doesn't know how jenna and molly can even look at him and see someone worth dating). Eddie doesn’t even realize they have parked too cought up in his thoughts about Carl.
“Alright you guys ready?” Chrissy asks before opening her car door.
“Don’t really have a choice.” he mumbles under his breath waiting for the girls to get out of the car so he can.
Once they walk into the salon Eddie’s immediately hit by the smell of nail polish. Before he can register anything other than the overwhelming smell of polish he hears a admittedly handsome voice call out,
“hi, do you have a booking with us?”
“Uhm-” Eddie starts before Chrissy cuts him off. “Yes we do, it should be under Chrissy Cunningham.”
The guy, which Eddie realizes has a nametag on that says ‘steve’, walks up to the front desk to type into the computer and he nods his head that Eddie takes to mean he found the name.
“Okay, it says here everyone is getting a manipedi is that correct?” Hot guy, Steve, double checks.
“Mhm, expect I’m getting acrylics done too.” Chrissy corrects.
“Great you ladies and gentleman,” he winks at Eddie, “Can take a seat at those six pedicure chairs after you pick out your colors.”
He’s off before Eddie can get a word in, Chrissy taps on his arm and he turns toward her. She has a knowing look on her face and he shakes his head no. She shrugs and drags him over to the colors.
Eddie’s amaze at Steve for being able to keep up with all the bitchiness of the girls. Of course Eddie’s not paying that much attention because he’s holding his hand. Nobody told him a hot guy was going to hold his hands for about twenty minutes and he hasn’t even got the polish on yet. If he knew this he would be getting his nails done regularly.
Even the strong smell of nail polish is bearable with Steve holding his hands. The only disappointing part is that it means nothing, which is a shame really, Eddie can see it now him and Steve could have a life together too bad this is a nail salon and chrissy is about to get married maybe he’d have time to flirt.
He doesn’t realize he’s squirming in his seat until Steve says, “Relax your hands.” He’s
pretty sure his face burns red when he says that.
“It’s okay, it happens all the time.” Steve reassures, which doesn’t really calm Eddie’s nerves but he still tries.
He looks around the salon to see Kelly talking her nail tech’s ear off and the poor girl is trying her best to keep up. Eddie also realizes that right next to Steve is a girl who isn’t doing any nails but is just chilling there. He also realizes that Steve and the girl are talking together, he worries that maybe the girl is Steve's girlfriend.
“Robbie, I can’t just ask that I’m at work.”
“Please, you’ve flirted at work before, dingus.” Robbie(?) responses with a flippant hand. ‘Oh great’ Eddie thinks of course he’s trying to flirt with one of the girls. What else was Eddie supposed to expect? They are all like Carl. It’s pretty disappointing to learn that this guy is just like the rest.
“Is this the polish you picked out?” oh Steve’s talking to him again, ew is that butterflies in his stomach. He should not be getting butterflies for this straight guy.
“Yeah.” Eddie says but it comes out as more of a question.
“Great, it's a lovely color.” Steve replies with a gorgeous smile. Eddie wouldn’t have picked the color if it wasn’t for chrissy it’s a black with hints of purple to match his suit.
The other bridesmaids are also wearing purple to match Chrissy’s light yellow dress. Chrissy is having a nature theme wedding so her braid is wearing greens and blues. He smiles remembering when he helped chrissy pick out her dress it matches her ring which is a gold butterfly.
He watches as Steve paints his nails in silence until Steve speaks up. “So what brings you guys into the salon?”
“Oh, my best friend, Chrissy is getting married and she wanted us all to get manipedis together.” Eddie answers with a small smile. He can’t believe that Chrissy is getting married. It feels just like yesterday since they met.
“That’s lovely, you got a date to bring with you?” He questions. Eddie’s face burns red for what feels like the tenth time because he does not in fact have a date.
If he did he’d probably not be blushing everytime he remembers that Steve is holding his hands. Because that’s the most intimate thing ever(how does Chrissy deal with doing this every month?)! Eddie might combust if he thinks about Steve holding his hands one more time.
“No, no I do not.” Eddie answers with a shake of his head and accidentally moves his hand. “Shit, shit, I’m so sorry.”
“It’s fine you’ve been doing it the whole time.” Steve shrugs. That just serves to make Eddie blush harder, why hadn’t he asked Eddie to stop? Any other person would’ve gotten pissed by now.
“Annnnd you’re done.” The girl calls from Steve’s shoulder. He sees Steve shoot her a glare.
“Well technically you aren’t done, you still have to dry.” Steve points where the rest of the girls minus chrissy are talking with their hands under a table. He nods before standing up(he tries to be mindful of his nails).
Once everyone’s nails are done it’s time to check out. Eddie mentally prepares himself for the price of the treatment. Molly and Danielle are both looking at their nails and gossiping about some boy named David at work. Chrissy is talking to her nail tech, which he believes his name is Win, short for Winston. Jenna and Kelly are talking to the girl next to Steve, who he believes goes by Robbie. Eddie’s just standing by the desk waiting for one of them to check them out.
“Alright, are you guys ready?” Eddie startles when he hears Steve’s voice from behind him.
“Uh- yes.” He says, sounding unsure.
“How are you paying?” Steve questions with an encouraging smile.
“Split payment, hey Chris it’s split payment six way even, right?” Eddie shouts hoping to catch her attention.
“Yes, yes.” She waves him off with a cheeky smirk.
“You heard the lady.” He smirks at Steve.
“I put it all on separate payments. If you want to start, you can put your card in the reader.” Steve grins.
Eddie pays for his then Jenna, Kelly, Danielle, Molly, and then Chrissy. Before they walk out Steve hands him a piece of folded paper that has the nail salon and the number to call.
Before he walks into the venue for Chrissy to get married off he unfolds the paper and realizes it reads, ‘I enjoyed holding your hands hoping I can hold your hands for a different reason  -Steve’ with his number to call him.
Eddie smiles to himself and folds the paper and puts it in his breast pocket before walking into the venue because first he needs to watch his best friend get married.

algo contigo | word count: 1.6k
send me a soft prompt
Eddie thinks Buck’s taking a nap. To be fair, he was, but he’s been slowly drifting back to consciousness for the past few minutes. He can’t really tell, time feeling like it did when he was a kid and took a nap during summer break. Everything feels bathed by sunlight; warm and light and easy, his muscles heavy with sleep.
It’s not late July, though, and the warmth that he feels covered in comes more from Eddie’s finger carding gently through his hair than any actual sunlight.
Buck feels…rested. For the first time in god knows how long, he feels calm. Content. He’s not satisfied, not quite. There’s an itch he hasn’t quite figured out how to reach, a want that’s so bonedeep he doesn’t look it in the eye.
But it tugs stronger, punches him in the gut a little deeper every time he catches Eddie’s eye across the station. There’s a whisper in the back of his mind that’s been trying to tell him something since Eddie first walked into his life.
It’s been getting louder. Since the well, since the shooting, since lightning coursed through his body and all he could think was Eddie, Eddie, Eddie. I need to go home.
To him, that little voice would whisper every time. I need to go home to him.
Eddie’s always been his safe space. Eddie’s always been where his heartbeat is steadiest, but ever since he left that coma nightmare, it’s been different.
He has a way to make sure he’s actually awake. Actually here, where he belongs.
There was no night in the dream. His eyes blink open blearily and the room is a warm orange in the way it gets as the sun dips below the horizon.
Check.
His brain, even in its hazy fog, knows what day it is. Carla dropped Chris off at Hen and Karen’s a few hours ago. It’s a Friday, he knows that much. They got off a twenty four hour shift a few hours ago, which means it was Thursday yesterday. Time is moving.
Check.
And then there’s Eddie. Eddie, who somehow maneuvered Buck in his sleep so his head would be positioned on his lap, whose fingers are gently massaging his scalp, who is singing—so softly, nothing more than a gentle lullaby.
He had none of this in his coma dream. Eddie was a void, a lost piece of the puzzle, a missing step as you were headed down a spiral staircase.
But here? He’s everything.
“Y hace falta que te diga que me muero por tener algo contigo,” Eddie whispers, his voice so gentle it almost has Buck dipping back into sleep. He doesn’t risk turning to look up at Eddie, doesn’t want to risk him stopping now that he has an audience that can actively listen.
Buck could count on one hand the amount of times he’s heard Eddie sing.
Only ever to Christopher. It happened more when he was younger—and, Jesus, Buck can’t start thinking about how much Chris has grown since they met because he’ll definitely start crying—but there was one night recently. Just a few weeks ago.
It was the first night Buck stayed over after the accident. Christopher was refusing to leave him, stuck to his side all throughout dinner and the movie they put in, because Eddie still believes in DVDs.
(They have all the streaming services. Buck knows, because they share them. Eddie pays for Disney plus, Buck pays for Netflix. Why they never use one of those every time Buck spends the night is beyond him.)
Buck woke up that night to Chris crying; loud, racking sobs that had him fighting back tears. He got up to check on him, but Eddie beat him to it. Buck hovered by the door as Eddie whispered low, calming reassurances in Christopher’s ear, telling him it’s okay, he’s here, everyone’s okay.
He started singing some song Buck didn’t recognize, and it had Chris falling asleep within minutes.
It’s a pity Eddie doesn’t sing more often. He has a beautiful voice.
“Y es que no te has dado cuenta de lo mucho que me cuesta ser tu amigo,” Eddie continues. Buck’s pretty sure he’s heard this song before, but the words don’t linger in the air long enough for him to register it.
Between the singing and the fingers playing with his hair, Buck really almost falls asleep again, but Eddie’s singing to him. There’s no way he’s missing this, so he bites his tongue hard enough to ache, focuses on the sting, and makes sure to stay awake.
“Ya no puedo acercarme a tu boca sin deseartela de una manera loca,” he murmurs, and, okay, Buck understands enough Spanish that the sentence has his cheeks heating up.
His Spanish is pretty rusty now, but there were days once upon a time where he could pick up chicks in Peru with a heavy American accent and a cheesiest Spanish pick-up line his bartending friends dared him to use.
He’s not sure Eddie knows that, though. Doesn’t think he’d say I can’t get close to your mouth without wanting it in a crazy way, if he knew.
Buck’s blushing, he knows. It’s taking a crazy effort to keep his breathing even, especially when Eddie continues. Buck doesn’t catch the next line, even though he’s trying to focus on it. His body really is tired. He really does want to go back to sleep.
Eddie hums a bit of the song, the melody wrapping around Buck like a blanket.
“No quisiera yo morirme sin tener algo contigo.”
It’s similar to the first line he sang, and it makes Buck’s breath hitch.
I would not want to die without having something with you.
Eddie stops instantly, hand stilling. Buck turns on his lap so he’s looking up at him. He squints up at Eddie’s face, smiling softly to himself at his expression. Eyes a little wide and a little panicked, cheeks a little pink, but he’s smiling so sweetly when he notices Buck’s not going anywhere.
“You know I understand Spanish?” Buck says cheekily, tilting his head. Eddie groans, his head tilting back. It exposes the long column of his throat, and, for the first time, Buck doesn’t feel guilty for not looking away.
Eddie’s eyes stare down at him, a twinkle in the warm, honeyed brown of his iris. He looks a little flustered, and Buck wants to kiss him so, so bad.
That’s the whisper. The one he’s been refusing to let get louder, because he couldn’t, wouldn’t, shouldn’t risk the best relationship he’s ever had.
For once—for once—he doesn’t think it’d ruin anything. Not when the hand not currently in Buck’s hair moves to grab his hand and twines their fingers together.
“I did not know that.”
Buck nods, thinking over the song’s lyrics.
“Did you mean it?”
Eddie nods; his smile is tiny and loving and fond, but it looks like it could just as easily take over his face if this moment didn’t feel so private.
“I did.”
“I can’t—I can’t get close to you without wanting to kiss you, either,” Buck admits. His heart isn’t hammering wildly in his chest like he thought it would if he ever got enough courage to say this.
Eddie’s grin grows cheeky. “I didn’t say that,” he teases, because Buck definitely mistranslated a little bit. He got the gist, though.
“No, you just said you don’t wanna die without having something with me.”
“Maybe what I meant is a friendship.”
“Eddie?”
“Hm?”
“Just kiss me.”
Eddie’s smile is brilliant, but Buck doesn’t get to look at it for long. Too busy closing his eyes and leaning up so he can meet Eddie in the middle and let their lips meet. The angle’s a little awkward, not quite a spiderman kiss, not quite normal, either. Buck’s sideways and his arm’s twisted uncomfortably to prop him up, but it’s still the best first kiss he’s ever had.
Buck can feel how much Eddie loves him with the soft, slow drag of his lips against his. Can feel it in the way it’s just lips, just soft, easy, almost shy. Their lips stick a little as they pull away, and it’s giddy. He feels a bit like a teenager, the way just one kiss has him breathless.
“Hi,” Eddie whispers, face still close enough to Buck’s that he feels the words as a breath on his smile. “I love you.”
Buck wants to laugh. There’s some emotion in his chest that’s bubbling, threatening to spill over, and he wants to let it. Wants to laugh until he can tuck all of Los Angeles inside the pocket of his joy.
He feels so indescribably happy.
“I love you. I love you.” He knows, without a shadow of a doubt, that he’s never gonna get tired of saying it.
“C’mere,” Eddie murmurs, trying to angle Buck’s head so he could kiss him proper. Buck gets with the program faster than he’s ever gotten anything in his life, scrambling to straddle Eddie on the couch, and does his best not to get high on the way Eddie’s eyes go dark. The way they go half-lidded, the way his pupils seem to swallow all of him as his hands slide up his thighs.
Buck leans in and kisses him again. Despite their position, it’s just as tender as the first one. He kisses him until he can’t breathe, until he’s dizzy, until he feels a promise of more trapped between their bodies.
And he lets the whisper take root until it’s shouting in his chest.
I love you, I love you, I love you.
Eddie kisses him again. He doesn’t silence it.

Oooh what if (when) Buck Tommy break up …
*
*
*
Tommy says “I see the way Eddie sees you.” Or even “Evan I see the way you look at Eddie.” And Buck laughs it off. But then has flashbacks (we get to see too) of like a Buddie fan music video edit show all the ‘oh moments.’ And Buck goes “Oh sh t.” and Tommy smiles. “Hey it’s okay I been there too being in love with a with a best friend.. I’m not mad Evan. You are a great guy. Remember how I said I couldn’t replace you or Chris would hate me? I see the love you all have. It’s beautiful.” And Buck smiles and hugs Tommy. “I’m sorry. I .. shouldn’t led you on.” Tommy hugs back and stands up from Buck’s couch. “You good. You didn’t. But call Eddie and tell him before it’s to late. You never know with our job right?” Buck stands up from couch and agrees.
*
*
*
That night he calls Eddie over for beer and Buck hasn’t drank his much but plays with label. “Buck why you so quiet? You okay? Something happen to Tommy?” “Uh no.. uh.. so Eddie.. I have something to tell you.” Eddie sets his beer down like Buck did and Buck turns on his couch and looks at him. “Tommy and I broke up.” Eddie goes to speak but Buck keeps talking. “Uh remember how you said I needed a new couch? Well I think I found it… or hope I did. You.. it’s you. I .. am in love with you Eddie. Like I’ve tried figuring out how or why.. and it just clicks. I don’t want to ruin our friendship so if you don’t feel same way I under—“ Eddie leans over pulling Buck gently by the shirt and kisses him. They both smile in the kiss. They don’t know who pulls away first but both do for air. Eddie speaks first and slowly let’s go of Buck’s shirt. “I..love you too Buck… I know I said I was happy for you and Tommy but.. honestly? I felt jealous that he was with you. I know you looked happy but wished it was me..” Buck smiles and moves close to Eddie again and kisses him. When they pull apart again and cuddle on the couch. “God it took us what six years? I wonder if they have a bet going at the firehouse.” Eddie laughs at Buck’s comment. “Oh they totally do. We did the same when Chimney and Maddie got together remember?” Buck laughs and looks up at Eddie with smile. “True.” Buck pecks Eddie’s lips and moves back down. Closes his eyes as he feels happy.

So just an idea I had thinking of how Buddie will happen. Like I don’t want them to cheat on who they are with (even if Marisol is bleh and Tommy is cool I do like him.) I hope he sticks around and maybe gets with Josh? And we can still see his pov of helping people. Cuz that’s cool job too. Plus Josh deserves a good guy too. So hope and when (and if) Buck Tommy breakup it’s on good terms and Tommy is still around.

Several Sentences Sunday
(Plus all the other days I missed)
I’ve been working on a fic inspired by the song “Houston we’ve got a problem” by Luke Combs. I started mine the same night Tanis did cause we were having a conversation about it, but I got stuck on mine. I think it’s close to done though, so here’s some sentences!
“I could never get sick of you,” Buck said quietly “You and Chris are my family, Eds. You’re my partner and Chris is my ki— my best friend.”  Buck had covered up the mistake quickly, and Eddie didn’t correct him.  “Look, it’s only temporary - just three months and then we’ll be back.”  “Yeah, I just… I don’t know, I kind of—” Buck had been cut off by the sound of Christopher’s crutches as he made his way to the living room, talking about how he was excited to spend three months with his cousins. Buck had wiped at his eyes quickly, erasing any evidence of unshed tears, then spoke excitedly with Chris about Texas in the summer.   He and Buck didn’t talk about it again - besides for when Christopher brought it up - until they were all standing outside the airport, saying goodbyes.

I desperately want oblivious!Buddie to play out for just a LITTLE longer so we get some “off-screen” gems. As in, absolutely bonkers events and quirks that we don’t currently know, but slowly find out before the boys figure THEM out. Such as Buddie grocery shopping together, Buck knowing Chris’ (AND Eddie’s) SSN, Chris having Buck’s phone number memorized because he didn’t have a phone when they first met and would call him on the house phone like for the Hildy prank, Chris has called Buck his dad to one of the firefam or Carla, Buck and Abuela have weekly phone calls now that she lives in Texas, Eddie is Buck’s POA (and vice versa), Eddie has a second pair of keys to Buck’s Jeep (Buck doesn’t for Eddie’s truck ONLY because Eddie is a passenger princess and if he’s not the one driving his truck then he just hands his keys off to Buck anyway), as early as late season 3 Christopher was drawing Buck into his family portraits (bonus points if it’s before the well happened), Buck has Christopher’s drawings on his loft fridge, Buck uses the family calendar on Eddie’s fridge too, Eddie specifically doesn’t buy certain foods because Buck has a food restriction that the Diazes do NOT also have (canon vegan Buck anyone?), Buck picks Christopher up from school enough to be known to both the teachers AND administration, they have a shared google calendar that Eddie hates (technophobe) but Buck updates regularly, there hasn’t been a week where Buck hasn’t stayed the night at least once at the Diazes since the lawsuit (yes, even through the divorce arc idc, let me live).
The whole “didn’t know they were dating” thing is becoming more and more appealing to me for Buddie with every passing minute, and I just think it would be funny if we got Hen or Maddie or even Christopher to call them out on little things like this that they do that they didn’t really think hard enough about to realize it was partner shit, not best friend shit. Plus, I know a lot of people want Buddie NOW because of Buck being canonically bi, but I’m still happy to wait a little longer if it means giving both characters the patience and care their stories deserve. ABC making them canon the very first season after the network switch WOULD be iconic, but given that I’ve been both ecstatic and nervous about Buddie after last Thursday’s episode, I think they should pace it. Give them both full realizations about their sexualities, a lil crisis about it for each too, maybe a different man or two before each other, the jealousy they’re BOTH now famous for, just a pinch more therapy about the shock of it all, and then somebody or something to knock their heads together and make them realize that their partner has been right there all along.
Honestly, I won’t lie and say that some of these aren’t based off of fics I’ve read, but they’re also so basic to Buddie that I couldn’t tell you specific fics, and I also definitely tried to come up with some that aren’t from fics in my memory, but claim them if you want lol, I don’t mind

ok first of all congrats on step 1 of your ship but second of all as someone who has never watched but wants to catch up with no time to watch seven seasons: best meta to read first? when exactly do both characters start appearing on the show? If it’s later than s1 I may be able to watch enough of it. But yea most importantly where to start with meta for the ship and has anyone done a primer for the ship I could read? No rush and sorry if this is too much work for you!
Hi Nonnie!
Thank you so much for the congrats! XD It's a delight to have been screaming, "Buck is bisexual!" since ep 107 and get to 704, and get it confirmed as canon. ^u^
Well, I guess the good news for you is that Eddie doesn't appear in s1, so if you're less interested in seeing the shown when it was only featuring Buck out of the ship, then go ahead and skip that. I do think it matters to see that season, to better understand Buck's journey, and also why Eddie was such an important and positive person in his life once they became friends (plus s1 is just 10 eps), but if you're more inclined to skipping, Eddie shows up in 201.
As for meta, I didn't sit down to write anything until the end of both s2 and the first half of s3, by which point I felt like I would explode if I didn't. So, that meta was more summarized than my weekly Buddie meta posts I started doing starting in the second part of s3. And you can probably just... skim through that first round of Buddie meta (it looks like it has a lot of parts, but some are quite short) and my other buddie meta posts (which you can find through my pinned post) to get a good idea of the Buddie r/s overall.
Honestly, the big moments that really cemented things, are the beginning of Buddie, in the first few eps of s2, ep 210 which gives us our first glimpse of Buck and Eddie being co-parents to Chris, 218 where you see how much they've come to mean to each other already, the start of s3, 309 and THE kitchen scene (don't ask, but it will be THE kitchen scene for you as well, once you've watched it), the end of s4 and the shooting storyline, s5's best Buddie moments were IMO in 504, 506, 513 and 514, s6 was a bit of a mess, but eps 610 to 612 or so are probably the vital ones. So if you're interested, you can check out the weekly meta posts for those specific eps.
I hope this helps, and that you enjoy Buddie a lot! xoxox

Ok, so, I'm ecstatic about 7x04, I'm just so happy it happened. Of course, that's not my endgame relationship but it is perfect!
I just wanna talk about Maddie for a sec', like that girl knew all along that Buck was bi just not aware of it before now. With all her comments about bi Buck over the seasons: the boy crush over Eddie, the setting up with her coworker, the heart in the calendar... (So much more I can't think about right now) and I loved how she was not having Buck showing his jealousy with violence (she knows how that end, of course, she has some strong opinion about it)
Tumblr media
And yeah the whole episode is about some kind of jealousy coming from Buck and it was greatly addressed. Because you can feel jealous about everything it doesn't have to be romantic jealousy (yeah I'm talking about the Buddie scenes) and I do think that Buck is really interested in Tommy and that makes sense! Most of us already have a crush, but that doesn't stop us from finding someone else to our taste. Plus Eddie is so out of Buck's mind about sexuality right now. When you spend that much time with someone and you put it in the friendship's box for so long, of course, it's gonna take some time to change your point of view on it. You can love your best friend and never take a step towards a romantic relationship even if somewhere in yourself you see it could be a beautiful romantic one.
We know both Buck and Eddie know they are co-parenting Chris, and spending a lot of time together. They are, they're perfectly in sync with each other so, yeah, when someone puts that relationship on the line you're not gonna like it, especially since it was just the two of them for so long.
And the relationship Tommy x Buck makes so much sense to me, I'm bi myself and I was mostly with the opposite gender because it's easier but when I searched for same-sex relationships I took experienced people for the first time (not everyone's gonna do that obvi) but it was reassuring for me and you can let yourself pushed in the right direction, you can take your time getting to know what you like, you let yourself be swooned by the other and it's perfect. Buck didn't fully know he was attracted to men apparently (even... Duh, you are dude, since the beginning, like just look at 2x01...) but guess what, people lie to themselves without even knowing they're doing it, so yeah. I can buy Buck not knowing men were an option. And then you have this beautiful opportunity with a great guy (super cool, good-looking, doing a lot of activities...) and this guy happens to be gay and out. (I think?) I love that relationship because I do think Tommy is a great guy, I do think he's gonna be perfect for Buck for his first-ever gay relationship.
And can we just talk about how great Tommy is, like yeah, he kissed Buck with his hand under his chin, just a peck but enough to make Buck feel things about it too! And he stopped there! He stopped, I'm sorry but I don't have that much strength in me, I'm not even sure I would have stopped and gone to work that easily... Damn! And even after the kiss, the man asked twice if it was okay? Well, my dude, if it wasn't I think Buck would have pushed you away wayyy sooner, that was a long as fuck kind of kiss! Buck being flustered right after is so cute, I love it, but just look at how Tommy is looking at Buck's shirt when he asks him on a date, yeah clearly Tommy wants a naked Buck right away but he still stopped himself! What a great guy, he knew Buck wasn't very aware of his own flirting (with all the smiles, the questions, the interest... Ah damn Buck you're so oblivious of yourself!). That's what makes it so special for me.
Tumblr media
I really want this relationship to continue for the whole season, I do think it's great, that Buck gets the time to explore, and we see a bit more of Tommy (which I kind of like). Eddie's still in a relationship with Marisol and I don't want Buck and Eddie to jump their bones just because Buck has a boyfriend, I want them to find that: hey we do everything together already, I really like you and oh damn, lately you make my d*ck hard so why not try a romantic relationship together? Like, I'm pretty sure if Buddie becomes canon they'll see it doesn't change that much, they'll just kiss instead of tapping each other's shoulders...
What I want too in this season, is for Buck to notice other guys. So Tommy is kind of his type (no shit... Army guy, muscles, sporty blahblahblah) it makes Eddie his type too, I want some "oh moment" like damn, he's sexy, even if he's in a relationship (doesn't mean you can't look) and then guys on calls too. Because Buck just opened that door and now he's gonna see a lot of other people under a new light. I want that, I want him to explore, and find out what he likes or doesn't, I want a whole arc about Buck finding what was missing in him. Because it is a journey, it's not a one-time thing, it's a whole new world right in front of him and it's awesome!
Even if Tommy doesn't stay (no one said you can't be friends with your exes (especially in the LGBTQ+ community)... But whatever) and even if Buck ends up with a woman after (He Is Still Bi, it's a possibility) I'm already glad it happened, I want more obviously, and at some point I'd really like to have some Buddie even if it's gonna be difficult because Eddie has been straight his whole life and he does the "right thing" if you know what I mean: marrying the first girl you date, having a kid with that same one, going into relationships and staying in it because his son likes them... Eddie's open about other's sexuality but not so much about himself, plus what would make sense. I could see Bi Buck from season 1 (I don't know, the vibe maybe?) but in all honesty I see it less in Eddie, so maybe something like demisexuality? And even there it doesn't quite add up with the relationships he already had (except for Shanon but the others not so much, at least it wasn't shown that way to me). But guess what? I'm not the writers if they want to put Buddie (And I hope they do) they'll find a way (even if Eddie has just a thing for Buck it'll be fine to me, no one else but you) but if they don't I'm just gonna read and read some beautiful fanfic about them! Because they are together in my head and no one can take that from me. I want a freaking slow burn between them.
Anyway, I think I started to ramble a bit in this post. Look what you're doing to me ABC! You can disagree or not I don't care, in a few words: I think 7x04 was well-written and well-played. I want more of Tommy x Buck (because they're freaking cute!) and I want a lot more of self-discovering and I hope for some Buddie, can't take that from me too. So... Now I'm gonna re-watch that scene for the hundredth time...

Hi baby, brain is soup after waking up but can I ask for the words: sleep, kiss and regret
Thank you love uuu xoxo
of course you can baby! i love you too<3
sleep
“Yeah.” Buck yawned, closing his eyes for a moment. He didn’t want to fall asleep again, he’d done enough of that lately. Plus, he’d missed Eddie. They hadn’t had much time to talk since he’d woken up and he missed his best friend. Buck struggled to open his eyes, not wanting to sleep away whatever time he and Eddie got to themselves.
kiss
Christopher gave another weak nod and let Eddie guide him to his bed, where he promptly passed out the second his head touched the pillow. Eddie bent down to press a kiss to his curls, tears stinging his eyes as he remembered just how much he could have lost today. It took monumental effort to back away and take his eyes off Chris so he could go take his own shower, but he did it. He did it because Chris and Buck needed him to be strong right now, to not panic, to keep it together.
regret
He didn’t want to interrupt their reunion so Buck slipped away, his heart heavy with regret with each step he took away from Eddie and Christopher. He knew in his gut that he was making the wrong move. That he should hang back and see if he could get Eddie’s number. There was something there— Buck wasn’t sure what but it felt like the universe was trying to tell him something about the Diaz boys. Too bad he didn’t listen.

Worth the wait (teen 5.4k )
Five plus 1 fic, the companion to Everything But (temptation) - all the temptations again but from Eddie’s pov. Read on Ao3 @caroandcats this is your doing @bekkachaos I thank you for your contribution - your comment was priceless 😂
Eddie comes back into his living room and for a moment he can’t see Buck anywhere, puzzled he takes an extra step forward, spots him and wonders what on earth he’s doing, with a crease of his brow he sighs and folds his arms. It’s what Chris calls his Dad pose. Buck’s earnt it though, for reasons best known to himself his friend is crawling around on the floor. It only takes another moment for Eddie to realise Buck’s looking for his shoes and that knowledge brings a quick burst of disappointment. So he hasn’t managed to persuade him to stay then.
Ever the optimist Eddie tries one more time, you never know he might be able to tempt him.
“Don’t go, it’s late and you're tired.”
Buck doesn’t even look up, fixed on searching for a shoe that Eddie can see is actually behind the sofa.
“My back will hurt and then you’ll complain all day tomorrow that I’m grumpy.” Buck carelessly tosses a cushion aside and locates one of his missing shoes triumphantly.
Eddie shakes his head fondly at his antics, how Buck’s shoes have ended up separated like they have is anyone’s guess. Eddie catches a glimpse of blue eyes before the search continues and maybe there was a slight waivering of resolve in them.  Perhaps if he makes it a more attractive offer he might still change Buck’s mind.
“If it’s just the couch being lumpy, I don’t mind sharing the bed.”
Ice floods his veins. Why on earth did he say that? Buck in his bed is simultaneously the worst and best thing he can think of.
Fortunately Buck isn’t looking and doesn’t notice his panicked reaction. What’s he going to do if he says yes?  It would be a particularly cruel form of self inflicted torture to have Buck in his bed, so close but ultimately so far away. So near but in reality nowhere near to being his at all.
His words have a surprisingly powerful effect on Buck too. Eddie winces as his friend slams his head on the table and when he finally looks up Buck’s eyes are a little wider than usual and his voice is a little higher pitched too. He squeaks out a single word before he dives back under the table.
“What?”
Well isn’t that interesting, it seems like an extreme reaction to what as far as Buck knows is a simple offer. After all he’s not the one drowning in feelings so staying over  shouldn’t be a big deal. He tests the theory.
“We can share, done it before.”
Eddie’s impressed at how casual he sounds considering how he can feel his heartbeat  picking up speed.  He watches Buck shuffle round to look under a chair. He still sounds weird.
“You don’t have to do that.”
Is he blushing and why won’t he look at him? It’s making him think thoughts. Eddie watches Buck’s back and his diligent attempts to avoid eye contact and decides to try an experiment.
“I don’t mind. You’re welcome in my bed anytime Buck.”
Buck’s shoulders freeze and he clearly stops breathing for a second. There’s a longer than necessary pause before Buck speaks again and his voice sounds a little strained.
“Thanks for the offer Eds, but I’m going to go.”
“If that’s what you want,” he says it as if it’s of no importance to him one way or the other where Buck sleeps when in fact the complete opposite is true.
Buck finds his other shoe and Eddie watches him leave and wonders how tempted Buck was to stay and why he was so flustered when he left.
