Pinkie Pie is a Raptorian from The Glass Princess from the G1 My Little Pony carton. Like the ones in that episode she is goofy and carefree, but unlike them, isn't evil and wicked.

Limestone is now a guy, and Octavio is recolored and renamed Onyx. Surprise is part of the family too. They come from three sets of twins, Limestone and Maud are twins, so are Marble and Onyx.

how many dinos do we have confirmed knowledge of iridescent feathers? or whats the most recent new species discovered?

As far as I'm aware and can find, we have a few! Wikipedia has a whole page on colors I didn't know about before, so this may interest you.

Microraptor - which had long feathers on both it's arms and legs, leading it to be called the 'four-winged dinosaur'. This raptor had black glossy feathers similar to a raven, with some iridescence. The iridescence has been disputed back and forth a bit though - since the scleral ring of it's eye suggests it was nocturnal, it's unlikely to be iridescent. You kind of need light to have shiny feathers!

This image on the Wikipedia page is a pretty good restoration of what we're looking at if it is iridescent.

Archaeopteryx was initially believed to be iridescent as well, but now we're leaning more towards a matte black for it's feathers.

Cruralispennia is a small bird that lived in the Early Cretaceous period that was found to probably have iridescent feathers on it's head! While it's more of a bird than a dinosaur, birds are dinosaurs so it counts.

The newest one that I am aware of is Caihong juji, a small raptorian that was about the size of a duck. They had a full body of black feathers, with iridescence on the head and upper back. This is one of the most incredible raptors I have ever seen reconstructed, and the fact that my ducks are the same size makes me happy.

They did have a crest on their skull, which this restoration does not have, but gosh this thing is gorgeous.

Clade of the Day: Cilliognathiozoa

Welcome to Clade of the Day, where we cover different groups of organisms on the collaborative project Sagan 4. Today's clade is the kingdom Cilliognathiozoa, which includes the rorms, the arrowheads, and their microbial relatives.

Rorms and arrowheads form a group of superficially worm-like fauna, being yet another example of an animal kingdom on Sagan 4. They evolved from cilliognathan cells, which are very similar to Earth's cilliates. Some species are armored.

Though their wider kingdom dates back much further, the common ancestor of all living rorms didn't emerge until the Raptorian period. Nonetheless, among "minor" fauna groups, cilliognaths as a whole are pretty prominent not to mention anatomically diverse, with 80 entries recorded on the wiki.

Dinovember day 14: parasaurolophus!

This is my neurotenic parasaurolophus oc, Ebony! Like many of my dinosaur ocs, he’s made for a sort of “dinosaur reserve” type thing that mixes time periods and plays with genetics. On the isle, neuro variants are like. Supposed to be super smart and can talk to players outside their own species. Idk, I don’t play the isle. But talking to other species is kinda null in that rp, so instead neuros can hypnotize and telepathically communicate or smt? Idk if that’s in the isle or not but I highly doubt it. Idk, I just know that I found it cool and wanted to make one for myself, especially since everyone else was making hypos and I like to be different lol.

I made him even more different by having him be a “harmless hadrosaur”. He lives in a cave with a ton of snakes, lizards, bugs, and other small animals he can make do his bidding. His skin is skin and fragile, so he avoids the sunlight, and his main diet is things his “minions” bring him- along with the occasional adventurous saur who wanders into the caves, never do be seen again. So, yes- he’s primarily carnivorous with a supplementary diet of plants, instead of the other way around. In an adaptation for this, his beak is sharper. While you can’t see it, it still follows the split that the isles para has in its beak, meaning instead of a raptorian beak, it’s more like a staple remover. Youwch.

This drawing was actually made for Halloween after my friend suggested I draw him for it, except it was late by a few days to be completed. I saw that the list had para on it, and decided I should hold off instead! Snake-less version under the cut, so you can properly see his creepy bulging head. Honestly I’m more proud of the snake than I am him!

Continuing the theme of MS Paint art,

I had a dream last night where there was a secret MLP g3 movie with the bushwoolies in it. Idk who the main villain was, but one of their henchmen was this guy, Sneaky! Much like the Furbobs, Sneaky is some kind of weird distant evolutionary cousin of the bushwoolies, though I suspect he’s even more distantly related than even the Furbobs are.

He snuck into the bushwooly colony and disguised himself as an ally of theirs, by covering his eyebags and going by the name ‘Sleepy’ to lower suspicions. He really fooled them, though I guess that’s not that hard to do. I imagine they’d be pretty heartbroken to know he was manipulating them the whole time... idk, like a lot of dreams I have, I never got to the end of it.

I drew him with one of the Raptorians from MLP & Friends eps 16-19 (The Glass Princess) because their ears look the same... and I guess they’re both pretty birdlike. I always wanted to believe Porcina unfroze the Raptorians after the events of that arc... mostly just because I liked them too much to accept they’d just be stuck as glass statues in the Black Mountains forever. Plus, Porcina can use magic without her cloak! That’s how she restored Ponyland! So, if she really wanted to, it’s not like it’d be impossible to unfreeze them... Also on a half related note, I call this orange Raptorian ‘Rover’. He and the yellow one (who I like to call Rags) don’t actually have canon names, in fact Shroc (the red one) is the only named Raptorian of the group, and his name isn’t exactly written down anywhere so the spelling is just guessed.
