ALRIGHT FOLKS! We're gonna play another game of Talk About Your Favorite Thing! Where I ask about a thing you've been dying to talk about, at all or just generally more! Tell me about your things! Give them to me! Feed me!
Last time we did states and ships, now give me GENERAL HEADCANONS!
Can be about anyone, anything, whatever you want, just something you personally think is neat, maybe something you've thought about a bit too much and is permanently in your head. Can be something you've seen around before, like a semi fannon thing you just super enjoy, or can be something deep in the recesses of your own goofy little brain
I'll go first
UTAH KEEPS BEES Utah keeps bees Utah KEEPS! BEES!
UTAH KEEPS BEES!!!!!!
He's got a very lovely suburbia home, big garden in the back (for dog? Yes. Dog. They have dog). They've got a cherry tree the kids pick from by the handful in the summer. Ilithyia is a big gardener, flowers mostly but some veggies. They absolutely have a sego lily patch. Ilithyia gives Utah the first one that blooms every year and he cries!!! He loves his wife!!!
All this to say, with a big flower garden and a cherry tree, UTAH KEEPS BEES!
He's never once been stung, neither have the kids. Ilithyia is allergic but she's safe from them now. There's a little bit of stately magic in the air for that, yk? (Spoiler alert it's because Utah loves his wife)
There's a hive box in the far back corner. Any harvested honey goes to making hand pulled taffy (treats for the kiddos and neighbors) or otherwise saved for cooking :)

Would never describe myself as "a bright little patriot" but an all-black outfit with a grape-colored bag absolutely sounds like something I would wear

Y/N IS SO DENSE OH MY FUKN GOD XD
Aaaa gosh I loved the new chapter so much!!!
The angst, the tension, the GORE, THE DINOSAUR!!! XD
So in this universe every demon has one specific body part they eat??? That's very interesting!! We all know who's winning the contest of 'who eats the most badass body part' between our 3 demons sldjhdktjdkfhjd
The change of environment is so thrilling! I'm genuinely unsettled by the desert environment, it's so open but still so claustrophobic in the dark of night. I love that Y/N is new to hunting in this place too, it makes everything so much more tense!
It's so exciting to have another hunter interacting with Sun/Moon!!! The tension is so high!! The "it's a cryptid!" scene had me holding my breath, it was so scary and AAAAA THIS IS EXACTLY THE BIT OF THE STORY I'VE BEEN WAITING FOR!!! I'M SO EXCITED!!! >:D
And even though I've been waiting for this bit, it's still so unexpected to see it happening. Curveball after curveball has been thrown throughout this whole story and you really can't predict what will happen anymore, it's fantastic! I cannot wait to see just HOW this story will end! I'm so excited!!
One more thing, the flower scene had me on the floor crying.. you absolute destroyed me with that one..
Wonderful chapter as always!♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️
Hi, Meep! :D
LAJSF Y/N acting like Osmium out here smh
Ahhhh, thank you so much! ♥ ♥ ♥ Ah, I want to expand upon the details and variations of demonic cryptids and their favored meal types, but that will get expanded upon later hehe
Okay, so, I have to gush about writing about the desert because that is the type of country I love and am very comfortable in, which is so funny to write a character who is the exact opposite of me finding it disturbing and unsafe. It was a fun challenge! Y/N does prefer their woody hunts. Ahhh, I'm really happy you enjoyed it! ♥
LAJSDFLASF Meep, you're making me melt!! Ahhh, big scenes are coming soon but I'm glad that they're still hitting hard as it's been a long time coming!
Awww, Meep, I'm really happy that scene hit home ♥ Speaking of flowers, this is what the sego lily looks like! (It's also the state flower of Utah)

*smooch ya on the head* Thank you so much, babe!

Gender: Demigirl
Star sign: Cancer (July 13th, 2258)
Height: 5’3”/160CM

Favorite fruit: Banana Yucca, she brought a lot home after HH dlc, and planted some in goodsprings and in a little garden she made for Freeside
Favorite season: Spring, it’s not too hot, not too cold
Favorite flower: Mexican Primroses, Sego Lilies, and Sand Verbenas
Favorite scent: Specifically the scent of her bandana after she’s washed it, and also vanilla lol
Coffee, tea, or hot chocolate: Tea, I feel like James wouldn’t have wanted her to get hooked on coffee so he started her on tea once she started asking for stuff to help her stay awake for class in the vault lol
Average hours of sleep: 4-6 hours when she is out and about, can take small cat naps when she needs, but when she’s at the lucky 38, she can sleep up to 12 hours just cause she’s so exhausted lol
Dog or cat person: she may be a ‘golden retriever gf’, but she lovessssss cats
Dream trip: Somewhere with lots of (swimmable) water, she loves swimming but there really isn’t anywhere for her to do that without it being too irradiated or gross
Number of blankets they'd choose to sleep with: she naturally runs super warm so just a standard thickness blanket will suffice
Random fact: professional gymnast level flexibility and dexterity, earning her the nickname ‘ring tail’ from James (like a ring tailed lemur lol)

Cisco Mariposa - Calochortus ciscoensis
My first opportunity documenting a rare species on this blog! The Cisco Mariposa was only known to common science in 2008 and can only be found in 2 eastern counties in Utah and Mesa County Colorado. This curious desert flower is a member of the lily family, coming up around late spring-early summer from a perennial bulb, flowers vary from white to several shades of pink.
The Calochortus genus is common throughout west, there are many minor species and regional variants, the Cisco Mariposa was found to be distinct from the Sego lily due to the presence of curled leaves at the presence of flowers and less prominent chevrons (see image 2). Since this species is new to science, little literature is written regarding the reciprocal relationships people have had with this plant.
Using the sego lily (C. nuttali) as an example, I will suggest propagating this plant is possible by separating new bulbs from the main bulb and replanting them in gravelly soil with good drainage. For the Sego Lily both indigenous peoples and settlers have a history of utilizing the bulb as a food source, I'm uncertain if the chemical makeup of the Cisco Mariposa is the same so I will research that a bit more!

Sketches of hypothetical regional forms for a Pokemon Legends-style game set in pioneer-era Utah.
Chikorita - Exposure to the arid climate and proximity of fossils causes it to evolve into a Grass-Rock type Meganium, with stony leaf plates along its spine like a stegosaurus. (The flower around its neck would look like the Utah state flower, the sego lily. I suppose this makes it a sego-saurus?)
Fennekin - The rough and tumble atmosphere of the Wild West leads to Delphox channeling its mystical abilities into quick-draw reflexes and handling its wand more like a revolver, taking on Fire-Steel typing and a bit of a cowboy appearance.
Oshawatt - Long treks through snowy mountain passes toughen Samurott considerably, giving it a bipedal stance and Water-Ice typing. It wields a massive icicle like a kanabo, studded with scalchop shells.
