1. ITMF growing up together/teen fics? Are there any fics which focus on the time before the characters all meet at the Gusu lectures? WWX and LWJ could meet as children on diplomacy visits, for example. The story could follow as they grow up and take on duties within their sect (like, how did WWX work hard and prove himself to be worthy of head disciple?), and then eventually catch up to canon when they hang out during the lectures. 2. Hello! Do you have any recs for Wei Wuxian being raised as a servant, not as the head disciple of Yunmeng Jiang? Something along these lines, thank you!

4. Hihi! I've been on a 'secretly wealthy' Wei Wuxian kick after binge reading H_Belle's 💖 One Can Keep A Secret. I love those stories where Wei Ying becomes rich and famous by being himself. One of those ideas is that Wei Wuxian (canon timeline, not modern AU mostly) writes, novels. I have read a few but unfortunately I have been unable to find one of them. Basically, Wei Wuxian in the Burial Mounds Days writes novels that become famous and post Resurrection deciedes to take it up again. Any luck? @goddessa39

7. A) So I was reading Keep Holding On by abCEE and it was amazing. There was a part where we get to know that Wei WuXian's father WCZ is actually a young master of a wealthy, famous and powerful merchant family. The whole arc was really really good.

So this is an IITMF request: are there any fics similar to this? Like WWX being loaded af. And only canon era fics please, 'cause I've read a few modern fics with this theme, but WWX was a lot older in them.

Or fics where LWJ helps Wen Ruohan? I have read a few fics where WWX goes back and time and sides with the Wen but none where LWJ does that. I've read some where he'll go back and side with the Wen Remnants but never the Wen as a whole. Thanks! @kasey1939

I've had this idea for another Grey's AU for awhile now, based off Jesse's role in "Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants 2" where he's a nude art model to pay for college. But it's me, so of course I took it one step further.

Mark and Addison got back together after moving to Seattle. He works as a mentor for last year med students at UW Medicine, which is where he meets the promising Jackson Avery-a man with a legacy he's trying to outrun. In time, Mark realizes it's so much more than that. 5 years earlier, when Jackson refused to go to "camp" to change his classification, Harper cut him off. Now, Jackson moonlights as a stripper in an attempt to pay for med school while also barely getting by with no caregivers.

As if Mark and Addison would let that continue...

Will I actually ever do this? Who knows? But I've had the idea for a while.

I have a couple of incidentally no-UD AU ideas (the Stonathan college one, the teen film noir one), but there’s one where that’s the main idea (i.e., what would have happened with the characters if there’d been no Upside Down or shady psychic experiments). And one of the things that happens is that Will becomes Yearbook Popular in high school (i.e., not a jock and not one of the rich kids who parties, but the respectable tier after that). It comes about because:

The most obvious, violent bullies of his age (the Troys and Jameses) become less popular in high school and are just regarded as kind of pathetic, even if nobody questions the attitudes behind the bullying.

Having never suffered the horrors of the UD and in large part robbed of the last part of his childhood pre-adolescence, Will is both more ready to put aside “immature” interests to make things easier and less cognizant of life being too short/unstable to cut out a source of joy.

Will also doesn’t have to deal with the social fallout of essentially being the victim of a lurid true crime story.

Girls, especially Nice Girls who do Yearbook and Student Government, like Will, because he’s good-looking and pleasant company and handy whenever a poster needs to be made. He doesn’t make a lot of new guy friends in high school (it is still rumored that he’s gay and people suck) but the approval of the girls means he has a crowd.

Joyce still starts dating Bob when he’s in eighth grade, which papers over some gossip about the family and leads to more stability (and, because of how the family works, Will is always going to be the first beneficiary of any increased stability). So he’s coming from a less obviously poor, dysfunctional family.

He gets a girlfriend, because, while he knows he doesn’t want that and Joyce and Jonathan and Bob are always saying he should be himself, he still lives in a Society. He’s also aware that Joyce and Jonathan are both really anxious that things be good for him, partly because they feel bad about him being bullied previously and rejected by Lonnie, and partly because they don’t want him to go through the stuff they went through. Also, there’s tension in the family because Jonathan’s having a hard time (read: a long-overdue anxiety disorder) and both Joyce and Bob are well-meaning but unhelpful about it for a while because they don’t get what’s going on. So there’s a lot of pressure not to be any trouble.

The Party are all still friendly with each other, but (much like the Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants) they’re moving in different directions. Lucas still joins the basketball team, Dustin falls in with the super-competitive nerds, and Mike goes the Hellfire route. Will is neither the first nor last to find his own thing, but he sees which way the wind is blowing.

Fic update schedule (Byler and Hilson)

I'm pretty behind on most of my AO3 fics at the moment. And I want to get back into writing but only writing what I want to which is not always the same week to week. I'm adjusting my schedule a bit to give myself a bit more breathing room. The important thing for me when it comes to byler fics is to get a lot of Will and Mike POV chapters out for their respective birthdays. For hilson I want to get my one winter fic done in about a little over month. So, provisional schedule and rambling under the cut:

February 16

Vampires Within (hilson vampire blizzard fic, Werewolves Within AU): I said this would be once a week, but I definitely lied. I hope to do once a month but with multiple chapters each time, maybe about half the fic even. I might start another Hilson fic in the second half of the month.

February 22

Nobody is ever missing (lesbyler Succession crossover): This one I'm doing pretty well on a monthly schedule for. I'll probably stick to doing one chapter per episode of Succession, which means Mischa and Willa might not meet again for a few more chapters.

March 22 or later:

Demodog Store (bywheelclair Unicorn Store AU): I think giving myself a little more time until this next chapter should allow me to make it a longer one to start really moving the plot forward. I'll definitely have it out by Will's birthday.

Exactly who I'm supposed to be (Will prepares to fight Vecna, does shrooms and tells a lie for every letter of the alphabet): I'm hoping to have this fic revised (some scenes and chapters expanded, nothing cut) by Will's birthday, with the next new chapter out by Mike's birthday at the latest. After that chapters will probably be monthly.

The Brotherhood of the Traveling Pants (Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants AU for the original Party): I should have put this on hiatus since I have no motivation for it right now. It's just more of a summer fic. I reached the midpoint of Mike's and Will's stories but am not quite there for Lucas or Dustin's. I'm thinking I'll release Dustin's next chapter (which is related to the Creel House) on March 24th, release Mike's on his birthday, then try to keep updating once every week or two until it's done.

Byler Parasite AU series: my third installment in this series will have more Argyle, though the main characters are still Jonathan, Will and Mike. I might wait until I'm done with the whole fic and then upload the whole thing on Will or Mike's birthday. If I don't get as much done, I'll just start it then.

Let's start a new Party, you and me (byler Riverdale crossover): Started for Bylerween, ended up putting on hiatus until next Halloween. Have so little of it written that idk if I should have left it up there, but I do have excerpts of scenes from later on in the story and if I expand on some of those excerpts, I might post them as miwips before then.

Is Navarre going to keep teaching Issachar how to read and help him with his book club? They’re going to read “The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants” next!

Like in an AU where Issachar never joined a Sabbath and they were just regular book clubs? I'd like to think that Navarre would at least have a (initially) casual interest in these, especially if were trendy or "fashionable" as he says in the Prayers manga! And especially more so if it means joining Issachar too--

I also like to think that Issachar is fairly literate for him to pick up reading so quickly. (It's said throughout IV that only Luxurors know how to read the Mystic Script the books are in; which begs the question how Issachar and the other Casualries learned so quickly to read it. Maybe the Black Samurai left a language dictionary.) At any rate, I can see him and Navarre picking a book to read (Navarre being particularly picky) together! I'm sure the Sisterhood series would be among the archived books there if they look hard enough!

10. In which of your stories would you like to live?

Honestly? I like to think that my AU's would be fun to live in! I'm still getting into the realm of non-fanfiction creative writing and worldbuilding, so I don't have a coherent story to offer up for that. But the alternate universes I write for my fics tend to be really lighthearted and low-stakes and great for slice-of-life style writing. It'd be nice to live in a story where most of the conflict can be categorized as "shenanigans" or "antics."

18. Show us a piece of dialogue you really like.

“...Hey, you ever seen that movie, Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants? Maybe those jeans work like that and make everyone look hot. Can you try them on when we get home?” - from a fic set in the mid-2000s in which two of my most himbo-y blorbos go clothes shopping. I love my masc characters to be endearingly dorky and funny and I think this line gets to the heart of that.

Sunset Curve and the Magic Pants- Alex’s Summer

Continuation of my last post for this Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants AU with Sunset Curve. This bit is about Alex and where he’s spending his summer. Willie, of course, makes an appearance. Enjoy!

"Willie! Where are you, man?" Alex bellows throughout their shared cabin, "Those kids are eating me alive out there in Sharks in Minnows!"

Then all of the sudden, from the bathroom, Willie emerges, toweling his wet hair and brushing his teeth,

"In a minute, Hot Dog," Alex has somehow been able to pick up despite the toothbrush in the other guy’s mouth.

Restraining his typical annoyed groan at the nickname (1st night of camp, he almost choked on a hot dog. Willie and the kids have been ragging on him ever since), he leans against the doorway impatiently.

If Alex had a choice, he wouldn’t be spending his last summer before college as a camp counselor at a Christian summer camp in Colorado. Well, he wouldn’t have objected with working with kids. Kids were great, and the pay wasn’t half bad either. It’s a good environment and it’s fun, but every now and then he would be met with a reminder that this is his parents’ last ditch attempts to ‘fix’ him before letting him go off to college. There are certain sayings and references to the Bible woven throughout what they do here, despite it being normal summer camp stuff, that just... rubs him the wrong way. Reminds him of his parents and what they want him to be.

But ha, jokes on them, if they think this would ‘straighten’ him out (literally) and they send him off to a camp where they reinforce hetereo-normativity by bunking him with another dude. A very hot dude.

Willie doesn’t seem like the type to end up as a counselor at a camp like this. He’s already said he’s not really religious and that he’s there mostly for a favor and he needs the money. It doesn’t make him any less capable for the job and Alex finds that, despite how laidback and chill he is, he’s a good co-counselor and the kids love him.

They’re not the only ones though... Alex is trying (and failing) to not crush on his co-counselor. Which is hard since they spend every waking moment together and return to their shared cabin. And there would be... times... when Willie would just do things that would flag his attention (intentionally or unintentionally? Alex has no clue. Kills him either way though). Like right now.

Alex fights the urge to ogle at his slightly damp cabinmate a bit longer, preparing to hightail it out of the cabin to the sweet release of the cool summer breeze when his eyes land on something.

"Wait, are those... my pants?"

Willie spits out onto the sink and backtracks to the room. He looks down at his legs, confused.

"Huh. I guess they are," he says, "Must have grabbed the wrong pair.”

The pants. The pants. The magic pair that Luke insists on them buying and sharing as they spend their summer away from each other.

It’s his turn with the pants after Reggie’s. They just came in yesterday. And he’s been meaning to change into them after arts and crafts, but it looks like Willie got to them first.

Okay, they must really be magic if they also fit Willie as well (and man do they fit-).

It’s almost blasphemous. Having someone else who wasn’t the guys to wear these sacred pair of jeans. (But he has to admit that they look really good on Willie)

Willie picks up on his discomfort.

“Oh, my bad. Do you need them back?" His hands fly down to the zipper-

"NO!" The outburst flew out of Alex’s mouth without restraint, startling both of them.

"I mean," he clears his throat, "you can wear them today. If you want? Just be...” He gestures at the pair, “careful with those.”

Willie doesn’t know about the pants. Or what they mean to Alex, but he smiles and reassures him that he wouldn’t be pulling his usual stunts today.

“Thanks,” Alex says, grateful. And he does trust Willie not to wreck the pants. The guys would never forgive him if anything happened to them, “They, uh, really do need us back there right now..."

Willie nods, eyes roaming around Alex's tense form, which does not help relaxing him in the slightest.

"Okay...Just give me a few minutes and I'll be out. " he draws out, returning to the bathroom, "But hey-" he steps back out, "Thanks. For the pants."

"No problem,"

By some miracle, that sentence flows and he keeps his voice level, as if his hot cabinmate and co-counselor didn't just try to strip off in front of him a minute ago... ******* About a week later, Bobby gets the jeans in the mail along with Alex’s letter.

Since that stupid camp doesn’t allow phones, the boys promised they would be trying to communicate with letters as much as possible.

‘Bobs,

Hope things are good back in L.A. Sucks to hear about what happened at Carrie’s party. But you’ll bounce back, Bobby. You always do.’

Bobby lets out a smile. Good to know that someone still has a back. Distance be damned. His boys are the best.

He continues to read the letter. ‘Camp’s been great. The kids are little monsters but in a good way. And my co-counselor is pretty cool. We’re roommates and he’s a lot of fun to be around. A bit of a wild card. He reminds me of Luke Perry from Beverly Hills 90210. You know? Anyways, miss you and everyone. And if you talk to Luke next, get him to spill more about this Julie he met. Greetings from Colorado,

Alex’ Bobby sets down the letter, trying to make sense of it. They usually have to. Read in between the lines. The camp might be screening his letters so they always have to be careful.

Now it’s weird that Alex mentions Luke Perry and the girl Luke’s now seriously crushing on while bumming around Washington.

But man, does Alex love Luke Perry though. Would not stop going on about how cute he was on 90210. Like definitely his celebrity crush for sure, Bobby could recall.

Wait.

He rereads the letter again. The part where he likens his roommate to said celebrity crush.

No way.

Once he translates it perfectly, Bobby bursts out laughing and has half a mind to call up the Mercers and dunk on them for sending Alex to a Christian camp. Might have just put him on a fast track to a secret epic summer romance. They’re rooming together! Idiots!

“Alex’s got a crush,” he sing-songs to himself amused, “Well, good luck with that, dude.” He says this as he pulls on the pants, hoping that he’ll get some of that magic that’s definitely been rubbing off on Alex.

Sleepover Friday extension whenever you get a chance:) book recs and any books you might have fancasted buck/Eddie in??

Hi Nonnie!!! Books Books Books!!! Yes! Now I must admit that I fell off my book loving wagon for a hot second because I was going through a bit of a lull in life (please see the almost two years I didn't write fic) but I am getting back into the swing of things so this may seem a little all over the place.

One of my favorite books EVER is The Last Summer (of You and Me) by Ann Brashare (the author of the Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants). It was kind of my first "adult" book that I read as a teenager and it's a soft beach romance and I just love it.

Anything by Brigid Kemmerer is amazing but specifically The Elemental Series for all you whump lovers! It's about four brothers who can control the elements and the feelings and whump are just *chef kiss* There's five books in the series and I will admit that the last one was a little disappointing but the FEELINGS are just UGHHHHHHH! I love it!

Another of her books I would recommend is Letters of the Lost! I think it's maybe one of her best books yet. She's known for her fantasy series but those contemporary books are just amazing.

Red, White, and Royal Blue by Casey McQuiston is great! It's New Adult and actually partially inspired my Prince Buck AU

Boyfriend Material by Alexis Hall is DEFINITELY one I would consider doing for a Buddie fic. It's fake dating chaos and so British I love it. Basically Luc O'Donnell is the love child of two former 80s pop stars and the paparazzi love to hound him even though he has almost no relationship whatsoever with his dad (a former wild child turned comeback story). To save his job, Luc has to clean up his image and decides to fake date a friend of a friend, Oliver. Except... Oliver and Luc do not get along. But Oliver needs to bring a date to a big family get together (so that his family will get off his back and stop treating him like dirt) so he agrees. Dumb boys being dumb.

I would would cast Buck in the Luc role and Eddie as the Oliver role because... Well, read the book and you'll see.

I've read a few other books by this author and it's just so soft! I love them!

Another book series that I'd love to see Buddie in.... Well.... just imagine them in those exy uniforms. NOW LISTEN OKAY! I recognize that The Foxhole Court and the entire All for The Game series by Nora Sakavic is a mess BUT IT'S SUCH A GOOD MESS! GOD! I love that book series so much. Once you suspend your sense of reality (because literally everything bad that could happen DID happen with those characters) you get swept up in this tense, found family feels and I just... PICTURE BUCK AND EDDIE IN THE EXY UNIFORMS.

Now, I didn't read this series because no matter how hard I tried I just could not get on board with Clary's voice BUT I would also love a shadowhunters!Buddie. It would make sense to have Buck be the shadowhunter and Eddie be a warlock but imagine Buck as the warlock and Eddie being the shadowhunter. Imagine the CHAOS. The FEELINGS. EDDIE WITH THE TATTOOS! BUCK'S EYES GLOW AND I FEEL LIKE HIS PART OF HIS WARLOCK MARK WOULD BE SCALES ON HIS FACE (LIKE EITHER A DRAGON OR LIKE FISH SCALES THAT GLOW).

Definitely isn't working on a Buddie A Discovery of Witches AU nope not me! 👀

I just finish writing and editing my own manuscript and I don't tend to read a lot when I'm doing that but I've got a nice stack of books waiting for me to crack open!
