Jason: Rule n°1 in big families: never talk about your own ideologies during a meal
Duke: Ideologies?
Jason: Y'know, religion, politics, morals, values, etc
Duke: What am I supposed to talk about then? The weather?
Jason, looking like he's having flashbacks: Trust me, even talking about the mosquito that bit you 3 months ago is better that triggering World War VI
Duke:... Don't you mean World War III?
Jason: In this house?? No, I don't

Karamatsu and Ichimatsu probably did spend most of their highschool together.
As everyone reminisces about their highschool days, Karamatsu and Ichimatsu's conversation seems pretty isolated in the corner over there.
They probably would have a lot of things to talk about because of how much of their memories involve each other.
That's why when it comes to talking about highschool, Karamatsu chooses Ichimatsu to have this conversation with. (Except that it seems like Karamatsu is the only one more willing to reminisce about their past together than Ichimatsu is.)
Like the time him, Ichimatsu, and Jyushimatsu pranked Osomatsu by stealing his pants.
Or when they were teamed up during the festival.
Or when Ichimatsu and Todomatsu blatantly used him as a fort in a snowball fight.
Or how they used to always eat lunch together on the school stairwell.
(that ended sadly though.) (Ichimatsu why'd you abandon him? :(( )
So yeah, Karamatsu and Ichimatsu were really close back then, and spent most of their highschool hanging out together.
They have a lot of memories they share with each other, even if Ichimatsu refuses to talk about them now.

Hachi was named for the time of her birth- born precisely at 8:00 am according to the medical staff (as "hachi" is also the pronunciation for the number 8 in Japanese). Hachi's name is written with the katakana ハチ. It is worth noting that names written in hiragana or katakana do not hold specific meanings as names written in kanji do; they are purely phonetic.
While it's not uncommon for given names to be written in the phonetic-based katakana or hiragana rather than kanji, and while Hachi has no issue with the name or the set of characters selected on its own, it occasionally becomes a point of insecurity for her when contrasted to her sister Emi's name, which is written in kanji--specifically, the kanji 恵美 (恵 meaning "blessing, favour, benefit" and 美 meaning "beautiful, pretty").
For Emi's name to so deliberately note her as beautiful blessing while Hachi's name is much more simply based off of the time of her birth, well, it's prime fodder for (over?)thinking when Hachi gets caught up in trying to analyze it.

Just cited the Magnus Archives for an assignment where I discussed archives as part of an answer to a question purely to see if the professor would notice. I suspect they don't actually look to closely at the references and I want to see if they know what the magnus archives are. (Sims, 2016) don't fail me now.

i've been wondering if overuse of the internet stunts your emotional growth. i don't mean to be mean but a lot of grown adults on basically every faction of the internet speak in a way that's indistinguishable from my teenage classmates.
like i genuinely don't mean this in a rude way but have there been studies done on it? because i think that would be interesting to read about.
