dude i just loved the nsfw abc of l, sooo, i was wondering if you can write another but with light, idk theres no much people here who writes for the dn, so if you want and can please 😭😭 i promise i'll give you support forever 😭
Tumblr media
nsfw warning
OFC I CANN AHH 🫶🫶
i actually had this like half way written before this question was even asked 😭
I ❤️ LIGHT SM omg you don’t even know how fun this was to write (i kinda got carried away on some parts)
// implied afab reader, but can be justified as GN for most parts. mentions words like cunt and clit once or twice and uses feminine terms such as goddess //
LIGHT YAGAMI NSFW ABC’S ~
A (aftercare) - he’s surprisingly very caring and sweet after sex, despite how rough and harsh he can be during. he prepares a nice warm bath for the two of you and makes sure to hold you close, keeping you right where he needs you.
B (bottom or top) - 100% a top without a doubt. though he always assures you that you two will be hand in hand as the rulers of his new world, he simply cannot be equals during your time of intimacy. he must remain dominant or he feels he has failed in some way.
C (cum) - he never ever wears condoms. his thought is; “why have sex if your just going to keep up a barrier?”. he just loves cumming inside you, with the idea in the back of his mind that one day he can have a little successor running around.
D (dress up) - he prefers you both be fully unclothed during sex so you can worship each other through and through, but he won’t complain if you dress up in a little lingerie for him every once in a while.
E (experience) - he definitely knows what hes doing. he’s been with countless other people before and has done these same sinful things; but he assures you that none of them could ever compare to how good you are for him.
F (fav position) - it drives him crazy when you bend over his desk and let him do as he pleases from the back. it shows him that you not only respect his dominance, but also know your place below him.
G (goofy) - you would never dare laugh during sex with light. everything he says and does is genuine; and you would never want to hurt his ego by laughing at his words of intimacy, would you?
H (hair) - hes very neat and kept, as expected. he really pushes you to be the same, and will likely refuse if you don’t keep yourself shaven.
I (intimacy) - he is extremely intimate and flirty during sex. he has so many cute little pet names for you, and knows exactly what turns you on. “does that feel good, my goddess~? you love being treated so nicely by kira dont you~? i can feel just how wet i make you, love; isn’t that so naughty, getting off to a serial killer~?”
j (jack off) - he has a pretty high sex drive, but he doesn’t have time to fuck you all the time, so he often resorts to jerking off under his desk while he kills people (oh my god what a sight isjdjdjd). when he’s feeling scandalous, he’ll send you videos of him jerking off to pictures and videos of you he’s taken during sex.
k (kink) - he goes insane when you call him your god / kira in bed. it makes him so happy that you know his worth and stand under him so willingly. he also adores binding you to his headboard with his crimson red tie, leaving you in absolutely no control.
l (location) - his favorite spot is over his desk, having you display yourself openly to him, ready to take anything he gives you. he also loves just standardly taking you on the bed; but all in all he doesn’t really care where you two have sex.
m (massages) - you ask, you shall receive. he knows that he can be a bit much for you sometimes, so he’s happy to help you unwind however he can (and he secretly hopes that maybe if he touches the right spot you two can squeeze in another round before bed~)
n (no) - he’s up for a lot of things, all you need to do is ask, but there’s a few things he absolutely won’t do. one of them being abusing the death note powers while in bed. yes, sometimes he has you under his desk stuffing your face with his pretty cock while he writes names, but that’s different. he’d never want to use the note while hes inside your sopping cunt; let alone to threaten you. he’d never write your name down, or at least he’d never want to.
o (oral) - he’s big on receiving. like i mentioned, he gets off to you sucking him dry under the desk while he murders people. loves to see your pretty face covered in his cum after he’s done. he also adores going down on you, though. after a long day of killing people, sometimes he’s just too tired to take over your sobbing cunt with his cock, as much as he wants to. so instead he has you on his desk, hands gripping your plush thighs firmly while he works his magnificent tongue along your body.
p (pace) - likes to go at a rougher pace (and just loves hearing you beg him to slow down), but if you use your safe word, he’ll be more gentle with you and make sure you’re okay.
q (quickie) - is 50/50 on them. he would like to be able to enjoy fucking you thourougly, but sometimes he just needs to relieve some built up stress he has (which is a LOT). being a god isn’t easy.
r (risk) - is all for it. he’s banged you in numerous public places; it gives him a sort of rush that he doesn’t get anywhere else. the thought of being caught by someone is so exciting, and he almost hopes that someone could walk in on you two so he could show them how obedient you are for your god. setting such a great example for the people of the new world.
s (stamina) - you swear he can go on forever. usually, you two stop after a few rounds due to you getting tired, but there’s really only been once or twice that he’s gotten tired and collapsed on top of your exposed chest.
t (toys) - he loves teasing you with a small vibrator up against your swollen clit, esspecially while he watches you squirm and beg him to fuck you properly. he also adores tying up your arms somehow, making sure you know who owns you.
u (unfair) - light is the worst when it comes to teasing. he’ll tease you for hours until your sobbing uncontrollably and begging him to let you cum. he does always give you what you want in the end though, don’t worry
v (volume) - he tries to stifle any sound he makes, afraid if will make him look more human and less like a god, but every now and then you’ll hear him groan or softly mumble your name in ecstasy.
w (wild card) - since he is kira, he sometimes always 💀has to manipulate people so they give him what he wants. so don’t be surprised if he comes home after a long day and tells you how he had sex with another woman. but he assures you; “she was nowhere even near as good for me as you, my goddess. you always take me so well, your so obedient. you always know what i want~ you just love pleasing your god, don’t you~?”
x (x ray) - hes a big guy, and oh my god his cock is huge. around 9-9.5 inches, with a pretty good girth
y (yearning) - like i mentioned, surprisingly really high sex drive. he tries to stifle it though, he doesn’t want to be thinking of your pretty face while writing down names, now does he?
z (zzz) - he usually falls asleep a good 30 minutes to an hour after you. he just loves to cuddle up to you and think about all the good things going for him at the moment.
AN: AH ANOTHER ONE DONE 💪 i’m actually pretty proud of this tbh. i also noticed on my L nsfw abcs I FORGOT M 🙁🙁 i’m not gonna go back and redo it now ig but i noticed that when i was going back and forth to make sure i got the abcs right. anyways TYSM FOR THE ASK ILYY MWA MWA 💍💍❤️❤️❤️ THX FOR READING

Werebear!Halsin
I've seen some references to werebear!Halsin and it's got me thinking about how that would work in the context of the game canon, and the thing is... it really does. So here are some of the points that I've considered about it and how I think it most likely to work. As usual, I'll be working to align with current 5e lore unless stated otherwise, but drawing from 3.5e in some areas to add depth, because let's be real, that's what it's for.
Baseline Info
Werebears are the most controlled - and Good-aligned - of the Forgotten Realms lycanthropes. It is extremely uncommon for them to attack indiscriminately or act with evil intent.
Werebears tend toward the solitary and typically avoid areas of heavy civilization, preferring the wilds. They will choose a large swathe of territory that falls under their protection, and treat guarding it from evil- and ill-intentioned interlopers as their primary responsibility.
It is quite common for them to become rangers, given their attunement to nature and their solitary habits.
They can be either born naturally from one or both parents being werebears, or the curse can be passed on via bite.
Werebears are extremely discriminating and careful about who they entrust their power and/or curse (depending on who you ask) to. They will choose someone that they know to share the same values, and will stay with them and train them as they acclimate to their new existence.
As It Relates to Halsin
He talks about having grown up spending a great deal of time in the forests of his home, playing with Thaniel, who no one else had heard of. This tells us that Halsin had, even as a child, an uncommonly strong connection to the natural world and its magics.
It is extremely possible that the forests of his home were also within the territory of a local werebear, and this devotion of Halsin's to nature would have been exactly in line with their own creed, making him of great interest to them as a potential apprentice.
Halsin also shares that there came a point when he realized that he could not merely be a companion to Thaniel/nature, he also had to be his/its protector. This makes sense as a point where he would feel prepared to take on the additional power and responsibility both that lycanthropy would bring.
This makes a lot of sense for his character as an adult as well: the way he has strong emotions but a great deal of practice controlling them, the way he prefers to be measured in his responses and judgements as much as possible, his care for his community, etc. I also think it even makes sense that it would not be something he would tell to a player character - he just wouldn't even see a need to. From his response if you share your opinion of his choice of successor, it is clear that he is not overly concerned with outside approval, which speaks to the way he is very settled in himself and feels no need to proactively defend anything about his being. Additionally, especially with his level of control, it simply would be none of the business of general acquaintances.

Royalty au KimKenta keeps plaguing my waking moments but I don't have any time to write an actual fic, so here's some random thoughts-
Tony's an asshole king who has a legitimate son Kenta (along with multiple illegitimate ones), who is supposed to be the crown prince, but turned out to be an omega and is hence struck out from the line of succession.
Tony plans on holding a tournament beckoning all the brave and worthy from his kingdom (and also from other kingdoms) to duel for the Prince's hand, hoping to secure himself a powerful warrior or a wealthy noble house as an ally. This is partly because he's aware that the peasant of his kingdom will protest soon and maybe even overturn his rule, unless he has some strong/filthy rich friends to repel the attack, and partly cause he's an evil evil man who would not hesitate to auction his son off just to get rid of him from the line of succession safely.
He plans to make Way his next successor, but also considers Babe, his two illegitimate sons, and encourages them to compete in politics, duels etc except Way and Babe grew up together as unfavoured illegitimate children in a backwater caste far, far away from the royal palace and is thus very good friends who would rather help e/o out of Tony's wrath than fight for the throne.
Also Way is in love with the leader of the rebel peasants Pete and is not too eager for the throne anyway, and Babe would rather ride off as an adventurer into the horizon with a puppy-like, loyal page he met into the palace called Charlie. (Way is a lil jealous that Charlie becomes closer to Babe and takes his place as Babe's closest confidant, but he's busy planning Tony's downfall with Pete to pay it much mind.)
Anyway, as the tournament is arranged, knights and nobles rush in from diff corners of the kingdom, eager for the hand of omega who used to be the crown prince and was set to be the next king. Knights also come from far-away lands, and with them comes Kim, a very average and inconspicuous beta in his brown horse and the lack of finely crafted details in his armour.
In the opening day of the tournament, Tony greets the competing knights and nobles from a high podium, with three sons at his side, basically showing off his two strong successors—one enigma and one alpha, both his special powers—and the prize of the tournament, the 'beautiful' omega prince Kenta.
Kenta has the most frightening scowl, mastered from years of experience in attending council meetings with wily old coots from the nobility, as he hears Tony's words. He knows he has none of the so-called 'lovely omegan qualities' of docility, soft words and gentleness, and he certainly had not stayed cloistered inside the walls of the palace all his life like a proper little omega. He knows it, Tony knows it, and everyone in or below the podium knows it, but the all keep quiet and smile cause there are wayy too many benefits in winning the hand of the sole omega prince of the royal family.
As Tony is going on and on in his speech about the kingdom's fertile lands and it's military strength (and taking not a world about the starving population and the discontent brewing underneath), Kenta meets the eyes of an unassuming knight standing at the very back of the crowd—Kim. He feels a zap through his mind, the world stops, they both get lost in e/o's eyes etc etc, but then Tony's speech is over and the tournament is set to begin.
Kenta and Kim's eyes hardly stray from e/o and even Babe and Way makes note of Kenta's sudden strangeness, even though Kenta is mostly quiet all the time.
Kim wins through the initial rounds of the tournament, rising from an unknown little knight from the wilderness to one of the favourites to win the prince's hand. (Yes, there are bets going on about who's gonna be the prince's groom, you think Tony will let go of such a lucrative source of income?).
Kenta does not get to attend every single day of the competition because Tony is busy which means Babe and Way are also busy, extra busy in fact, but he makes sure to know the results of each day's duels well. He used to be the crown prince, he's got connections.
Kenta also gets flowers and an intricately curved dagger that looks like an heirloom and a few trinkets that look handmade and some delicacies that he has never seen before (and he was the crown prince with access to every delicacy in the kingdom) in his windowsill every day, but his rooms are on the second floor of the palace's most well guarded section so that def makes him raise his brows.
While all this is happening, while strolling in the palace gardens one day, Kenta comes across Way and Babe talking together behind a particularly high hedge in one of the less well-kept, semi-abandoned parts of the garden. This also makes him raise his brows, because while he knew Way and Babe grew up in the same palace, he (and everyone else) were under the impression that they were never close, and after coming back to the palace they have been separates even more by Tony's ploys and essentially turned into enemies fighting for the throne.
So why were they huddled so close together?
Way and Babe also see him and Babe grit his teeth and pull out the dagger strapped to his waist, which in turn makes Kenta grip the dagger hidden inside his clothes, the one he got on his windowsill, since Tony had confusticated all his weapons after his came out as omega under the guise of omegas needing to be soft and gentle and helpless. (the truth is that Tony was afraid Kenta will harm his face and bring down his value in the marriage market, or try to kill himself outright.) Kenta knows he has accidentally stumbled onto some secret between the two would-be crown princes, and would now be killed to keep his silence. He's ready to fight to death and take someone, or both, down with him. (he sort of also hates Way and Babe for taking away his position and his secure life, even though deep in his heart he knows that Tony's the real culprit.)
But Way holds Babe's waist and stops him and to Kenta's surprise, Prince Babe, well knows for his brash, aggressive, I-listen-to-no-one-not-even-the-king personality, listens and relents.
Way calls him closer, and then holds a knife to Kenta's throat saying that since Kenta has chanced upon their secret he will now know it all, and threatens Kenta to keep his silence because their plan will succeed, even if they need to die for it, and that he has the resources and the will to drag Kenta along to hell with him if Kenta spills it out.
Then they tell Kenta. Mostly Way tells him, while Babe glowers at him in silence. Apparently, Way is in cahoots with the peasant leader Pete (Kenta does not miss the stars in Way's eyes as he speaks the name. He meets Babe's eyes and they both know what it means and swiftly look away, knowing better than to bring it up), and the peasant rebels are all ready to kill Tony and are much, much more powerful than Kenta had ever known even with his extensive information network within the kingdom. Pete is also a son of a
Way: You were not supposed to know but as your step brothers it's our duty to keep you safe, so we told you everything. Hope this gives you enough time to make your own plans and escape with your little suitor, brother. Now stay quiet abt this or I swear upon heavens I WILL kill you, brothers or not. Kenta: Wait suitor?? Babe: You think we don't know that someone keeps putting courting gifts on your windowsill? We may be new here in the palace, but we got networks, y'know. Kenta: *panicking tho he tells himself it's cause he doesn't want an innocent man to die and not because he likes the person leaving them or anything* Then.... Tony...??? Babe: What, you think that incompetent fool knows anything other than to raise taxes, hear flattery, and get a new mistress every season? Kenta: ....Then who is it? Way: *winking* that's for us to know and you to find out.
I have MUCH THOUGHTS still, maybe i'll write them in another post sometime

Love the idea of parex!! I've got so many questions. Are the Sith also out there? I remember you mentioning Maul, Dooku, and Anakin, what about Sidious or Plagueis?
What does Boba feel about Obi-Wan/the obi-clones?
What are some of your favorite moments you haven't gotten to post about yet?
the sith as a whole don't really exist in parex because I want it to be very clear that the mandalorian empire is the villain in this story. plagueis and sidious are sirs not appearing in this story though palpatine did at some point mentor padme before dying for reasons(tm). mandalorians as a whole don't have a super strong understanding of sith vs jedi, because to them it's all force magic. on some level they think that sith described in old texts are just jedi but cooler because they can use their magic for more (and more unethical) things, which is why when jango finds out it's possible to make a bunch of force sensitive clones through what is effectively a sith technique, he doesn't really think twice before having obi-wan do this. if he hadn't been so blase about sith, then he wouldn't have ended up with a giant psychic hive mind that hates him personally
boba is kind of a complicated situation, because you see, jango had boba created after cody and rex 'betrayed' him, and jango was determined to not fuck up his successor a second time, so while cody and rex (and fox) are not chipped, boba is. so boba's pretty much fully controlled by jango and that extends to his opinions on everything, so he hates obi-wan and the obi-clones. jango actually doesn't let obi-wan or any of the obi-clones talk to boba because of how obi-wan 'made cody and rex into traitors' (which is to say, obi-wan treated cody and rex like human beings and was kind to them and made them realize that jedi are people with families too) and jango's scared that if obi-wan or his clones are allowed to talk to boba they'll ruin him, too. father of the year, everyone!
there is a plan that the obi-clones do towards the end of the story which involves taking over the mandalorian empire's entire communications, and to do that kote (who is just so angry after having to deal with jango for almost a year now) decides he's going to forcibly absorb dooku into the hive mind so they can use his position of power and control him to put obi-clones in the places they need to be to so they can pull off the coup in one big swoop. you'd think that dooku would be a little wary of this but actually kote just tempted dooku to join the hive mind by offering secret knowledge of the jedi that he hasn't been able to find for himself because he can't read the old jedi texts. dooku thought he was cool enough to get that knowledge from the hive mind without getting absorbed by it but surprise! he was not. anyways, this leads to myles, who has been investigating the obi-clones for most of this story, realizing that something is Up with dooku, and then realizing that he is in a horror story, surrounded by hundreds of obi-clones with the proven ability to absorb people into their collective
sometimes it's not such a good thing to be the smartest mandalorian in the story!
ask me questions about parasitic extraction, the role reversal mandalorian empire au that I have

When it comes to Amphibia's finale, the Guardian tends to be rather divisive, with takes ranging from 'they're cool' to 'this is the true villain of the story.'
I chalk the division down to the fact that a lot of questions are raised when the Guardian is introduced, and most of them aren't answered. The most glaring is the question as to why the Guardian would call itself a 'Guardian,' yet not interfere when Andrias' ancestors used the stones for evil.
Now, the Guardian does say it's only a watcher and observer, but that...is blatantly not true, given the Guardian created the stones, revived Anne (sort of), and gave her shards home. That's three times the Guardian intervened, so it's arguably not a watcher, but a passive influencer who will only step in if it benefits their search for a successor.
And if they really could put a stop to the Core...it takes a special kind of egomania and lack of self-awareness to create items of ultimate power, refuse to stop them from being used for evil, then say 'Those mortals, huh? Not very responsible with their power.' Like, and you're much better? But again, that's only fair if the Guardian could intervene, and the show doesn't make it clear whether the Guardian has limits to their power (the fact that they created a copy of Anne rather than simply revive her from death implies the latter is something they can't do).
So why do you think the Guardian couldn't/wouldn't stop the stones from being misused during their centuries-spanning search for an heir? Because I'm not getting an answer from Matt Braly anytime soon.
*bops you on the head for that last sentence* You shouldn't be hoping for the creator to tell you how to feel. Form your own opinions.
Anyways, besides that, something these recent Amphibia asks make me hum is whether or not Amphibia is almost too good in our current media landscape. I know that sounds like an asshole response but you have to understand that very few works feel like they're made with this much intent, let alone this much intent while appearing to be a normal, approachable piece of genre fiction. As such, a lot of elements get used almost so well as to either throw people or make them want more. Sasha is so well written after all that people want quite literally any excuse for more of her. Marcy is made so relatable in her crime that no one wants to seem to admit that it was still the wrong thing to do.
And the Guardian is a perfectly bored god when we're so used to bad ones.
That really is it. I praise The Book of Life for having good God depictions as well because of the length of their machinations. How little mortals will matter to them. How quaint we are. Those ones still see us as entertaining though and making their job fulfilling, even if we at times become chess pieces on the grand board we play.
The Guardian is what you get when a god no longer sees us as entertaining. It was bored. So in its boredom, something that should be INCREDIBLY difficult with how many universes it theoretically protects, you know, INFINITE, it got an idea. A shake up only it could introduce while also finally giving it an out by being a test as well.
It says as much. "I was curious what mortals would do with infinite power and only you got it right." He sounds frustrated. Annoyed. Tired. He has the voice of a child not because of his age but because age has worn him down into nothing more than a child looking for an excuse to do something other than his chores.
And with understanding that mindset... Why would it have intervened? To interrupt the game means admitting it doesn't work and so having to come up with something new. It also means going back to being bored. Going back to having no successor and having no way to find one. And on the theoretically infinite cosmic scale... What does a few worlds being damaged mean to him? Because he looks over entire UNIVERSES. There is Space in Amphibia. They have a moon. That also means they theoretically have an entire galaxy, star system, etc. and that is ONE. UNIVERSE.
It is a scale we cannot comprehend... And that bored the Guardian. That made it NEED to retire. Because don't get me wrong: The Guardian fucked up. It made a half baked experiment and even his reward for it failed to manifest. Someone who would use the stones correctly would inherently not desire ultimate power. It's questionable if Anne will want it even when she dies.
However, calling The Guardian the real villain of the story is like calling the weapon that killed someone the real murderer, even if the person who did the crime was willing to kill with their bare hands. The Guardian wanted to see what people did with ultimate power. Some will say "Absolute power corrupts absolutely" but I like to believe more that "Absolutely power REVEALS absolutely." After all, the Guardian made a mistake but for a test of morality and responsibility for a scale as large as his job... He actually devised a really good test.
If you cannot handle a shred of his power correctly... What do you do with ALL OF IT? How quickly will YOU get bored? How much bigger will your fuck up for personal satisfaction be than a couple dozen worlds? But all he did, all he ever did, was present the option.
Like ALWAYS with Amphibia... It is the character's choice. The Core decided to hurt others. Andrias decided to follow the Core's dream to chase a time lost to him the second Lief took the box. Aldritch only got that utopian world that Andrias misses by abuse of others, using the box as the tool for that abuse and then easily stratifying his subjects because he hadn't seen people as people for a long while now.
And of course, Anne CHOSE to give her life to be the guardian of Amphibia before ever even considering the sorts of acts that any of the villains do. Hence why she earns being given a chance to be the guardian. But also, everything else in this blog is why someone who could finally shake things up like Anne and do what the Guardian was starting to consider impossible is given another blink in its lifetime to hone themselves just a little more.
Because none of these events actually mattered on the scale that a GOD like this views things. They don't function like regular characters but we're a lot better trained to treat characters as, well, based on people. Based on motivations and scale that we can understand. On morality that sees even a single life as wrong, not requiring BILLIONS for you to even register.
It's actually what makes the Guardian feel more like a critique of a Christian God than the Titan literally ever could. He is an absentee figure who set everything in motion. Who claims moral superiority while letting the world burn. People question their faith in the face of tragedy for a reason because if God is good, how can he allow such abhorrently wrong things to happen? And hence why the response of "God works in mysterious ways," is used to justify it. To make it feel like rather than a fuck up on his part, a miscalculation he doesn't bother to fix, that it is all part of his machinations.
The Guardian instead goes "WHOOPS! Not doing that again! Woo boy, if I had a boss, I'd definitely be getting a stern talking to during this MILLENIA'S performance review." He is almost disturbingly honest in his talk with Anne like that. To admit that despite being all powerful, that doesn't mean he's going to always make the right choice. Which, you know, if kind of on brand for Amphibia. Anne didn't always make the right choice. Andrias almost never made the right choice. Marcy made all the right choices except for her first one. Sasha thought she was making the right choices. Hop Pop when he ends up accidentally mind controlling people thinks he's making a harmless choice that won't have consequences.
Because like everyone in Amphibia, the Guardian is also terrifyingly human. But do you know what proves why HE'S the Guardian and almost no one else in the story?
He never took those choices away from everyone. They were allowed to make their mistakes. He did not admonish, he did not punish. He did judge but in that judgement, allowed to be themselves and reveal who they were. He only took the power away when someone finally proved the base hypothesis possible. That someone might EVER choose the morally right thing with the stones and put everyone else, good, bad, neutral, etc. before them and use them to stop annihilation, not for greed and self interest.
To call him the true villain of Amphibia feels like missing the point because of that. Because the Guardian is someone who screwed up but is still morally better than almost any of the villains. If the villains didn't like their job after all, they'd FORCE someone else to do it. They wouldn't have listened to Anne when she said no. They wouldn't decide to try in another couple decades for a second interview and hope that goes well. They would have simply made the choice for her because they no longer wanted this and wouldn't care about her free will. Anne isn't under contract to take it when she dies after all. She'll just wake up with the Guardian then... That's probably it. The Guardian is left bored and having to figure out a new way to find a successor, but with a few more lessons on how to do it right this time.
There is a reason I call the ending of Amphibia the PERFECT ending for this story. Not that it is perfect, the last episode's pacing is a bit wonky, but that an altered version of it would still include every element and plot beat that this finale did. And that includes the Guardian. I will leave the choice up to you for if you agree or not.

this isn’t rly a coherent point just a thought but i feel like the succession audience anon might be getting at the fact that the sociopolitical commentary of the show is lost as its audience increases? imo jesse’s political commentary is very clear but i also have my commie goggles on. but i know for a fact that the show is was not written nor marketed the way i’m consuming it. maybe jesse leans that way a bit but like he’s obviously descriptive and not prescriptive in his art so there’s that, and the constraints of tv are that it has to have broad enough appeal so you can’t be shoving your politics down the people’s throats necessarily. i think it is marketed to the brooklynite class you’re describing and i think they don’t fully get it and i also think as more people watch the more its themes are ignored in favor of stuff like omg who’d make the best successor, despite that not being what the show is about at all (also jesse has told us from day one who would make the “best” successor). idk like the people who get excited abt kendall becoming ceo you know? like omg it’s a win for him! like… are we watching the same show
ok i agree with a lot of this, and i am certainly also a known user of commie goggles lol. i think the fundamental limitation with the show is, like you said, that it's more interested in a descriptive mode than a prescriptive one, which means at its best it can nail character development and political satire, but it isn't really trying to offer any coherent alternative worldview. the portrayal of logan's gender / body politics is not flattering and doesn't flinch away from either the interpersonal trauma he inflicts on those around him or the broader political harm done by liberal capitalism; the show has also always been fairly sharp i think on the fascistic tendencies of capitalism and the way the latter turns into the former—again, shown both through logan's ideology of domination, social darwinist thinking, valorising certain types of bodies, etc, and through waystar's engagement with politics and politicians. however, i'd agree that this is all motivated by a description of the characters' worldviews and by satire of them, and we would probably see more of the cracks in the writers' and showrunners' politics if they tried to put forth some kind of more active alternative political platform.
that said, the fact that people miss these aspects of the show says as much to me about the political consciousness of viewers as it does about the intentionality of the writing. people with certain beliefs about masculinity are always going to watch 'fight club' and think tyler durden rules, no matter how effectively the critique is or isn't being made. similarly, people who think capitalism is a good or necessary system and doesn't derive value from fascism, or that succeeding in business is a matter of skill and mystical genius powers rather than a game of luck and accreting wealth, are always going to watch 'succession' and think that logan rules, or that the point is to identify the person who 'deserves' to take over waystar, or that capitalist electoral politics is a noble exercise in rhetoric that has simply been corrupted by a few evil apples, or what the fuck ever.
like, i'm not saying the writing is perfect or denying that it hits a wall in terms of actual radicalism. but i do think there are certain critiques the writers consistently and clearly make, often specifically via satire, that large swathes of the audience simply don't pick up on because they're approaching the text through their liberal capitalist ideological lens. you can see this, for example, in the journosphere's takes on the cruises storyline, which by and large completely failed to engage with the broader critique of capitalism as inherently producing death, exploiting bodies, and specifically preying on those deemed other or marginal—namely sex workers, migrants, women, etc. these points were very clearly made in the show and the meliorist viewpoint very clearly satirised (eg, in 'argestes'). ultimately, though, you can't rescue viewers from their own liberalism and you can't make them read the text from beyond those parameters. it's an issue of political consciousness, and although it can certainly be exacerbated by bad or milquetoast writing, even an explicitly radical piece of art will be interpreted through that liberal lens by people who are liberals (anyone remember the reviews of 'sorry to bother you'?)
i also would add that, in my opinion, this season has actually been more willing to overtly engage with the political threads than season 3. viewers can no longer hide behind the idea that the problem starts and ends with logan as an individual. matsson and his people have consistently been characterised as staking their own worth on their supposed biological superiority, with specific references to athletic ability, bodily strength, élite education that forms a class barrier, and the general idea of racial and genetic superiority ("nasdaq master race," "shallow end of the gene pool"). i'm aware there are many viewers, including on tumblr, who are not stringing these things together and seeing an overall discourse on capitalist eugenics and racism—but i do actually think that the satire here is being laid out pretty clearly in front of our faces. is this a show interested in exploring imaginative political alternatives? no, and you could convincingly argue on that basis that its fundamental stance is more self-satisfied snark than anything resembling actual leftist politics. i think, though, that this would be pretty evenly true since day 1, and that, at its best, the writing does hit on some key aspects of how capitalist spectacle functions, the power abuses it creates and enables, and how these things are inherent to capitalism writ large rather than being a unique pathology of the roys or waystar.
ultimately i love to see art that is actually communist / leftist in nature, is interested in alternatives to capitalism and ways out of our current political economic arrangement, etc. 'succession' is not that, clearly. part of the reason i do shit like blog about it is because it used to annoy me so much that no one was connecting certain more radical dots (like the obvious path from the show's historicised thinking -> a critique of capitalism as contingent) that are implied or allowed-for by the writing but never unpacked or explicated. so, often what interests me in the show is at least as much the lacunae left in the writing as the things it explicitly says. again, commie goggles. i also would tentatively agree with you that it's primarily marketed to people who are basically liberal and milquetoast, for reasons of profit motive, although again i honestly take in so little television advertising that i don't have much that's cogent to say about this angle of things lol.
i'm certainly not lying to myself that this show is any kind of radical statement of communist party values—i just also think that there are points of actually interesting satirical critique that the writers are very deliberate about, and that the guardian-new yorker-industrial complex is pretty much inherently going to miss these points or ignore them, for reasons that don't necessarily reflect one way or the other on the actual quality of the writing.
anyway, it was maybe goofy to write this out like an hour before the election episode airs, but these are certainly questions i will continue rotating after i see it lol.

Hi!
I don't know if someone has recommended this but, there's a new manhwa called The second male lead is actually a girl and the main interest there is some kind of clingy yandere, he wants the protagonist to look at him, brush his hair and they already had some “inappropriate” encounters since they all believe that she's a man.
It has just started but it looks interesting, if you want to try it, give it a chance! It has potential I think
Tumblr media
The Second Male Lead is Actually A Girl is pretty fun actually, but maybe it's because of my love of crossdressing stories and softer yanderes. Enok, is currently more of a soft/light yandere at the moment, but he does seem to be building towards more important moments later in the series. As of writing this, there is currently 33 chapters out right now.
The story starts with the main character isekaing into a story that she read, as Rosa Veronica. She finds out quickly after being picked up by her father that she is actually Rozenta from the story. Her father's only heir left is Rosa and thus forces her to crossdress as a man to become his successor. She's given magical items like necklaces and earrings to complete the illusion as well as taught necromancy magic and is essentially raised as a male. She befriends the prince and Vivian, the villainess of the story. Though initially a bit rough in the beginning, the three become very good friends even after the time skip. She also befriends Enok, a magician's apprentice whom Rozenta eventually finds out is one of the love interest in the story with great magical power. Rozenta prepares for the coming of the Saintess that will fall from the sky, eventually meeting up with Enok again to ask him to be her bodyguard. Eventually, the Saintess does come from the sky, another isekaied girl, however, unlike the story, it seems that everyone starts to grow to despise her. The Saintess has very two faced personality, and along with the curse that forces people to act differently like a puppet, while putting a strain on the person who is cursed. As a result, very quickly, Enok, Vivian and the Prince come to hate the Saintess as a result, while Rozenta seems a bit concerned that the story is not going as it should be. Rozenta also ends up hiring Enok as her butler, using his magic to help with concealing her true identity (since Enok's magic allows him to see past the disguise and charge up her items) as well as helping Rozenta master more of her necromancy powers. Eventually, Rozenta also tries to look for a spell that allows her to break the curse the Saintess has, but requires going to find the necessary ingredients.
Rozenta as a character is pretty cool and the concept of one of the male leads actually being a girl is a neat idea, though so far it doesn't do much in terms of suspense since there doesn't seem like anything bad were to happen if people did find out she was a girl. The idea of using artifacts to hide and change your appearance is actually a very neat idea (honestly I would love to have some, it must be fun to shapeshift, even if just making yourself look like the opposite sex) and seems to come into play quite often when she has to recharge them. I do wish that she would use her powers of necromancy a bit more though since it does seem like a fairly useful power that could be used for a lot of scenarios. Her personality, while genuinely kind, is usually done in a way where it's more chivalrous and because she knows about what will happen in the future, tries to tread carefully when she can. She has a good friendship with Vivian and the Crown Prince so it's nice that she has some support to lean back against that isn't just Enok.
One of the things I did genuinely like about this series is the friendship between Rozenta, Vivian and the Crown Prince. Generally in these stories, it feels like these kinds of friendships just appear, but for this series, we do actually see the dynamic between the three played out as if they were friends, with Vivian being the cute younger sibling and Rozenta and the Crown Prince being the older siblings. They way they are able to stay in touch and hang out to each other feels very nice, and I wish that more isekai style stories did this since I feel it gives more weight to what they experience together. Obviously the Crown Prince is or already has developed a crush on Rozenta (much to Enok's dismay and annoyance) but it for the most part doesn't affect too many decisions made, at least not until Enok comes into the picture.
Enok as a yandere is both fairly sly and rather tame at the same time. He holds the name that Rozenta gives him very strongly and is one of the few characters who knows that she's a girl thanks to his incredibly strong magic. He pretty much takes whatever opportunity he can to be with Rozenta, from being her bodyguard to signing up and becoming her butler and is completely fine with taking orders from her (you can't see this but I have a pleased look on my face lol). When Rozenta puts a spell on him that will cause his heart to explode if he breaks it, he seems extremely happy asking if she's bounded him to her. He's also really happy when she pins him down or when she simply calls his name and usually asks for more affectionate gestures as rewards, such as asking her to comb his hair, headpat him or simply praise him. Despite having the strongest magic powers in the story, he seems content mostly for using them for Rozenta's purposes rather than for his own. We can also see that he gets rather jealous of other characters that get to close to Rozenta, currently the Crown Prince, but also extremely disgusted by Saintess (though to be fair, pretty much everyone but Rozenta seems to be thanks to the curse that was bestowed on her) to the point of almost wanting to kill her had it not been because of Rozenta. When jealous, he seems to mostly be petty, throwing towels at people and performing his butler duties with strong passive aggressive vibes. It's pretty funny seeing his reactions to things.
On a side note, Rozenta's aunt character that helps get her plants for the curse has extreme girlboss energy with her five husbands like, man, that's just really cool. That was just a sidenote though haha.
Overall, the story is pretty cool. While it has a lot of the standard tropes of an isekai story, its pretty fun seeing them used, and like I said I think it's really helpful that Rozenta has such a strong friendship with Vivian and the crown prince. I'm curious to see what Enok will do in the future as he vies for Rozenta's attention.

"Strange World" (2022) overhaul rewrite
Tumblr media
I never expected to do a rewrite of this, despite my issues with it. But then I decided I should just do an overhaul of it. Be forewarned: I'm taking this in a VERY different direction--like, almost unrecognizeable; how do you feel about an Arthurian epic with aliens? As always, be kind--but if you have critiques/questions, I'd be happy to hear them!
Plot:
On a planet far away, there was once the mystical alien planet of Siyned. Twenty-five years ago, King Ursam of Lonava, a prosperous and mystical country on Siyned, disappeared without a trace, leaving his young son Taurus in charge of running a kingdom. For a time, all was prosperous, but now, a powerful sorceress named Niobe has come to battle for the throne, and threatens to engulf the kingdom in darkness and horrors unlike the world has ever seen. Together with his wife Iopeia, son Boralis and their band of allies, Taurus must navigate being a king as well as sorting out the secrets that come out with Niobe's arrival.
Important story/world details
Tumblr media Tumblr media
As you may see, the storyline is inspired by the tale of King Arthur, inspired by the fact that Searcher Clade is from a land known as Avalonia, and my first thought was: "Man, a King Arthur-inspired story would've been so much better than what we got." This comes with certain important story/world details:
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
The cast is made up of aliens. Given the pulp magazine inspiration the original SW film takes from, I'd enjoy seeing a comicbook inspiration for the alien races here, as well as video game inspiration from the fantasy side of things. In the best case scenario, this would be a spiritual successor to "Atlantis." I'd enjoy seeing different races of aliens, though I personally do like the idea that Taurus looks human (though since his wife and son are POC in the OG story, making them appear inhuman might be a bad call if he still appears white). And excuse the use of AI art here; I just liked the video for it's use of 80s dark fantasy inspirations, which I'd also want to be the inspiration for the fantasy aspects of "Strange World."
Tumblr media
2. The culture is more medieval/ancient--except for the technology (and maybe fashion). I like the idea that it takes inspiration from various world cultures similar to how "Atlantis" does.
Tumblr media
3. The cast is obviously different.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
King Taurus--A kind and intelligent king, albeit sensitive and sometimes overcome with his emotions due to unresolved feelings with his father (I thought that'd be a good thing to keep). He's a gifted mage, and I'm definitely getting Gale of Waterdeep vibes from him--albeit less problematic. He's also in his 30s, so slightly younger than Searcher Clade. Still, he's older than most Disney protagonists, which I think makes the film more accessible for an older crowd, and an established Disney romance between a husband and wife rather than two people about to get married or just getting to know each other carries nuances that you can't get with many "kid films."
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Queen Iopeia--A scholar and trained warrior who managed to capture the king's heart, and they fell in love. While she doesn't have any magic per se, her physical abilities make her a threat to all who wish to harm her loved ones. She often serves as the emotional anchor when Taurus is frazzled, and on rare occasions, their roles are reversed.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Prince Boralis--The young man who dreams of adventure, a Hercules-type protagonist who has self-esteem issues given his family's legacy. Of course, his crush on Castelon, Niobe's lead soldier, weighs on his heart heavily, since they grew up together before he disappeared and decided to side with her, seemingly with no explanation a year ago. His conflicting feelings make it difficult for him to use his powers (either alien or magical) to full potential. Definitely think his style is more akin to Ekko's from "League of Legends."
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Niobe--Vicious but sad, she is the powerful sorceress from the Lands Beyond, a realm of darkness that engulfed the lands west of Lonava. She is much more powerful than Taurus, but wants to destroy him emotionally before killing him, hoping to break him and make him give her the crown that is rightfully hers. She sees him as living the life she always wanted, and despises Taurus for "taking" it from him. She has an affinity for petrifying her enemies--and keeping their consciousness intact. It's later revealed that when Ursam discovered a prophecy that Niobe would bring about the kingdom's destruction, he left her in the Lands Beyond as a toddler. It's somewhat akin to how Cora abandoned Zelena in Once Upon a Time ("I have to leave you to give me MY best at life"). That said, given that many Disney fans want an unapologetic villain, I'd make her too bitter and angry to be swayed by Taurus' pleas, but at her defeat, it's brought to light that despite being a good king, Ursam was NOT a good person.
Tumblr media
Serioph--A wise mage (our Merlin figure) who serves as a parental figure to Taurus and a mystical guide. He has the ability to change his form at will, and ocassionally takes on a female form following Taurus' mother's passing and seeing that he needed a mother figure as well as a father figure. However, despite his power, he is tied to the laws of neutrality: if he was to battle someone of great good or great evil, his magic would cease to exist--which includes his power of longevity, and he would cease to exist. He knows this, but uses his powers to harm Niobe and prevent her from killing Taurus, killing himself in the process.
Tumblr media
Ienvy--Serioph's daughter, inheriting his magic by lineage, and thus not tied to the Laws of Neutrality like he is. Niobe is drawn to her and attempts to persuade her to join her side, but when Serioph is killed, Serioph curses Niobe to become undone, giving her a sense of insanity that makes it possible for Taurus and the group to defeat her. Despite her help, Ienvy feels guilt for what she's done after learning about Niobe's past, and imposes a self-exile upon herself after the battle is over.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Castelon--Boralis' crush and childhood best friend. He eventually left and joined Niobe due to being tricked into joining her service by failing to prove his selflessness (similar to the tale of Gawain and the Green Knight). As such, he has become warped, becoming a smug Namaari-type villain, so there's a lot of tension between him and Boralis. (Note: This goes without saying, but he'd get a major design overhaul. Some people say he looks like Frankie Grande, but he gives me Jay Manuel vibes from "America's Next Top Model" and I CAN'T STAND IT. I'd rather he looked akin to Lucio from "The Arcana.")
Different Design style FOR SURE
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Part of me finds the looks to be too normal; the characters don't grab my attention because they look either too realistic or too cartoony. Even if they weren't aliens, I'd want new looks for their clothes, at the very least. And the non-human-looking aliens felt way too cartoony here, not really ethereal or interesting in the slightest. Honestly, THIS deserved to be a hybrid film, tbh; it'd help to sell the alien vibes, as well as the fantasy aspect. And in particular, if we're going for a more mature look.
Lemme know what you think! I may come back and tinker this a bit.

What I think OSMU would be in the mlp AU:
Opal: pegasus. Longs to leave the Arctic to find somewhere warmer where she can fly.
Omar: earth pony. Doesn't understand Opal completely, but he agrees with her other reasons and he wants to see the world so there's that.
Oswald: unicorn. Mostly uses his telekinesis for sorting stuff in his job as a library-museum pony, but has been tempted to try out stuff in old spellbooks every so often.
Orla: dunno atm. was very young when the event celebrated on Hearth's Warming Eve occured. Still guards the 44-leaf clover.
Oprah/the Big O is still here and looks WAY more regal than when we last saw her(s2 finale). Like our main 4 are astounded by it when they first see her.
Veering off the OSMU track, I think Olive is protective of Otto, as in canon, but it gets extreme sometimes. Blank flank insult from Oren? She will yeet him across the room with her telekinesis. It takes a lot out of her to lift a whole pony tho. Aside from the fact that Ms. O is an alicorn who could easily overpower her if she tried that, that's why she opted for a stunpulse during "Ms. O Uh-Oh".
Also I wonder if there's some sort of ritual that Directors go through to turn their successors into alicorns. T'would be interesting!
yeah! so i never really got around to watching osmu beyond the few episodes i managed to catch on pbs kids but i know some things and yeah this seems pretty accurate, might have to steal from this haha
anyways yeah mlp Olive is so funny to me, she's pretty good at magic and all that but she's also still into sports and athletic stuff which most don't really expect from a unicorn so sometimes she'll pull stuff like letting someone think she's going to fight them with magic and then opting to kick them across the room horse style or something. Ms. O does stuff like this as well since she was an earth pony first before becoming an alicorn and she has the earth pony strength and resilience and everything. she has a full grip on her alicorn abilities because she's been one for a long while now but she still does stuff like kick holes in walls just because. you do not want to end up in a fight with either of them they have both magic and physical strength and you WILL lose.
and about the alicorn bit i've actually been plotting out some of the alicorn stuff and you got it pretty close with the ritual thing actually! in my mind when a director has to step down or leave for whatever reason they either have to hand off their alicorndom to their successor themselves or they have it revoked by someone else and passed on for them if that makes sense. it's just so that there aren't any random alicorn civilians out there or anything lol. because in my mind at least director level alicorns aren't technically royal alicorns (if they are they're very low ranking) they just have alicorn powers and leader status. however the Big O position does come with royal alicorn status, with their sorta domain being the whole organization since it's all across equestria and everything. so yeah you pretty much got it spot on with the whole idea of Big O Oprah being more regal and powerful looking because she's technically a princess now! she's very small compared to the other princesses but she's a princess nonetheless :)
i also have some silly facts about alicorn Olive and Otto in particular that i might share later if i feel like it but i don't know if i should wait until i've drawn them or not sdhfjh

@moonstone-vibe
Wellllll...I do have some thoughts about them(since I think that's what you're asking?) but theyre all very rambley and subject to change as I learn more etc etc etc (and this period of history is not one I'm very familiar with, I know a basic summary of stuff and some specific events, but not everything).
Alright, since we have gotten the (really long) disclaimer out of the way, I'm gonna ramble on a bit about these thoughts of mine.
(This took so much to write i stg)
anyway!
I think they met during the 14th century, the late 14th century to be precise, while the Ottoman Empire was expanding through Europe.
Apparently the first confrontation they had was during the rule of Vladislav I , a ruler of Wallachia, who was allied at the time with Ivan Shishman , the emperor of the Bulgaria in Tarnovo, who was not doing very well at the time btw, partly because of the Ottoman Empire lol.
Bulgaria is gonna be mentioned a lot during this, I fear, because I think he does play some role in their dynamic.
Ro, or well as he would have been called at the time, Wallachia, had been part of the Second Bulgarian Empire for a pretty long time, though eventually gaining more and more autonomy, and sort of becoming a vassal state of sorts for a time(basically still kinda being part of Bulgaria, but nominally really), still having to pay tribute to Bul tho. (Also for some time Hungary & Bul basically had a dispute over some part of Wallachia, but as Hungary was weakening due to Mongol attacks, it paved the way to Wallachia being established)
Although that's not important and Im kinda getting sidetracked. Anyway Wallachia does kinda get it's independence, altho it's more like Bul not being able to control it anymore due to the weakening of his empire (before becoming a vassal of the Otttoman Empire, which we'll get to shortly!)
I think they heard of eachoter before meeting, thought. Probably good and bad things, but mostly bad. For Wallachia, Ottoman was the guy that was going around conquering the lands of his friends, including Bulgaria & Serbia, and she...was not really happy about this, obviously. He was actually often allied with Bul, to fight him off(altho not always, relationships between Bul & Wallachia were not always good). For the Ottoman Empire, Wallachia was a thorn in his plans, Bulgaria's even more annoying other half.
Similar to the Byzantine Empire, the Ottoman Empire considered itself the successor to Ancient Rome, which really annoyed Wallachia, because he really didn't want to deal with another annoying guy who considered himself as great as the Roman Empire (Wallachia did not have a good relationship with the Eastern Roman Empire, but he would pick him over the Ottoman Empire surely).
And so, Ro did not see Ottoman as anything other than another empire trying to claim the glory of Rome, that would probably not last very long until the next one came. Simply a flicker in mankind's history. He had done and seen this before many times, just another nation that would try to claim her land and people. He was not scared of him, didn't feel much for him besides annoyance at first.
But I do think, over the years, they gained some respect for eachoter, for their skills in battle and outside of that.
Also annoyance eventually turned into anger at him, because how dare he take his friends away from him and hurt them! How dare he take Wallachia's independence away, too!
And so he became even more annoying. His plans were basically to not make it worthwhile to conquer his lands, to make the cost of a battle unjustifiable.
And they did fight, but Wallachia always somehow managed to keep being a vassal state, part of the reason because he was a buffer zone for a lot of european powers and stuff.
And like...I think this fighting of theirs became some sort of "dance" for them, something they were used to. Their own game of chess, if you will. Turk would make a move, then Ro, and it kept going, none of them ever truly changing the status quo, Wallachia remaining a vassal but never truly part of the Ottoman Empire, always slightly out of reach, never his.
It probably drove Turkey a little mad, but he also kinda liked it. I think when they weren't enemies they could get along pretty great, but both of them would rather eat knives than admit that (especially Ro :]]] )
I'll be honest, i think there were moments when Wallachia scared the crap out of Turkey, not that he'd admit it, of course, but little Ro could be really creepy.
The Ottoman Empire didn't scare Ro much, more like the reminder of what he could do to Ro and his loved ones(and what he already did) scared her, and his people also. Specifically that if Wallachia wasn't careful, the little freedom & independence he has could be taken away.
So Wallachia when he'd interact with him during times of peace ig, would always be careful to not actually get attached to the guy, constantly reminding herself of what he could be like. He always treaded lightly around him. Constantly telling herself that he's the enemy!!!
As time went on however, their relations got more...tense then they already were. Wallachia wanted independence and later a union with Moldavia and the Ottoman Empire did not want this to happen.
And of course, I ought to mention the Phanariots. God, save for maybe a few of them, Wallachia hated them so much! And sometimes it wasn't anything they did, it was more that they weren't his own people, and paying to get to rule over him and his people and lands. Definitely not happy about this was he.
Anyway eventually the whole thing happens when Moldavia & Wallachia elect the same guy (Alexandru Ioan Cuza) yada yada yada they unite and Turkey is probably not really happy (random, but apparently Austria was actually the main opposer of this while Prussia supported the union, and really not happy but was caught in the austro-prussian war do couldn't do much about it.)
And eventually Romania gains his independence, fighting alongside the Russian Empire, Bulgaria, and also Serbia & Montenegro I think? Anyway Romania gets her independence, and he & the Ottoman Empire are on pretty bad terms.
But after Romania became independent; things actually, slowly, started to improve between the two. They became...friends of a sort. Although they both wouldn't admit it obviously, they are fond od eachoter. They probably even look fondly back on some of their memories and shit.
But they don't have the best relationship either. That perhaps, there is still some resentment and hurt there, just a little, that neither is keen on adressing ever.
Anyway I don't particulary see them as romantic but I can imagine Ro getting probably mad at Bulgaria or something, feeling hurt and probably flirting with Turkey to piss him off.
I can see Ro kissing Turkey but like, to surprise him in order to fight him or something. Kiss him then surprise punch him while he's trying to process it haha.
Also I basically have my physical age headcanons written for Ro here but I basically see Turkey as being always a few years older than Ro historically, like 2, or 3 at most? (which is probably way younger than in canon, but then again, canon is dead and we do what we want.) I see Turkey as being in modern times in his mid to late 20s, at most, early 30s (I see him being called an "old man" but he doesn't look that old to me AT ALL so I'm really confused, plus it wouldn't make sense for him to be way older than the main cast for a lot of reasons etc etc. But maybe it's just me idk)
So yeah, I don't see turkro romantically, I guess? Nonetheless they have the potential of a very interesting and fun(and perhaps a little fucked up :] ) dynamic. Perhaps a little romance here and there, maybe in the current era, but they'd both have to go through a lot of character development for that :]]]
These days, they probably hang out sometimes, do stupid shit together, and actually have a really fun time. They probably recall some of their more fun memories, talk about the times they won in a conflict with the other, argue about something then get drunk and laugh with eachoter.
also a lot of these things also apply to my Moldavia OC and her relationship with Turkey, altho not all cause her personality is different from Romania's obviously.

Headcanons
A couple of general angsty headcanons!
Characters: MK, Mei, Red Son, Tang, Pigsy, Sandy, Sun Wukong and Macaque!
Because I’m quintessentially evil and I wonder what kind of small behaviours they’d all have.
Warnings: Very Spoilerish!! I don’t recommend reading if you haven’t watched season 3, it may contain slight spoilers. Actually scratch that it definitely contains spoilers DONT read if you don’t want them.
Notes: Some may be a little ooc, but I try to stay true to them as a whole! It’s angsty headcanons, so they’re a little exaggerated on the scale I would actually use them for, but I tried to keep it pretty tame. Not all of these are headcanons that I will use when writing in future posts btw, some for sure maybe but others are definitely just angst for the sake of being angst.
Also gentle reminder my requests are open! Feel free to leave an ask!! It would be greatly appreciated. See my pinned post for more details!!
MK / Qi Xiaotan!
* I feel that as expressive as Mk usually is, the pressure he inwardly, albeit unconsciously places on himself is insurmountable, and after a certain point on their journey he starts bottling up a couple more of his conventionally minor concerns. He doesn’t want to feel too bothersome, more-so than what he’s already convinced himself he is to others.
* Sleep deprived. MK feels like the one who would constantly push himself, despite the better judgement and protest of his body and it’s need for rest he’d continue training long into the night, like he has to be good enough because he’s Monkey Kings successor. From what used to be an early to bed, late to rising— to a late to bed, late to rising. He likely wouldn’t get much sleep, his sleeping in often disturbed by others or his work.
* Seeks approval. Perhaps on a lesser scale to someone like RedSon, I feel like MK generally wishes that others would look up to him as a hero, and really spares no effort in that regard. That same inner need for approval is what causes him to exert himself more than he should for others, it’s something already seen when he lost a ton of hair making clones in order to satisfy his friends needs, if to a lesser extent.
* Abandonment issues. We know that MK has to bite his tongue when complaining about his mentors absence despite the critical time for key growth, but I think the truth lies behind a bit more than that. We know he’s in this orphan limbo where Pigsy and Wukong take it upon themselves to act like his dads because he’s seen to live at the noodle shop and that’s soft and sweet, but knowing he was either abandoned or his parents died must still be a big issue for him as he likely believes the former. He’s largely a super social kid, and his friends mean a lot to him, so having them leave (like Mei), to go off on their own must be excruciating behind his supportive and encouraging nature. He wants them happy more than anything, even if that means they have to leave for a while.
* I feel like to combat these frequent inner anxieties, MK developed a nervous habit of picking at his fingers until the skin around his nails get peeled off. By no means does it hurt him, I just think he would fidget with his hands when put on the spot.
Mei / Long XiaoJiao!
* If we are going to talk about Mei angst, I think above all we should talk about the Samaudi fire rings event. Practically most of her angstier headcanons could stem from it, so I think it’s the most crucial to mention. Firstly it’s massively traumatic, and is likely to leave large impressions on her, physically and mentally as from what we’ve seen, it hurts to wield all that power. It would have definitely altered her emotional wellbeing as well, the idea of accidentally hurting your friends when you can’t control shit must be so depriving, especially for someone like Mei who is so used to constantly being around her friends to a certain degree. She loves the gang, dearly, being unable to reach out to them like before must make her incredibly fearful of what she could do, even unintentionally to them. She’s always been strong, but this is way more than she can handle. She’s not really someone that ever seems vulnerable, but the damage it might cause her physical body and mental fortitude can’t really be overlooked.
* Truly empathetic. Mei is someone who stands up for others despite the risk involved, no matter if they’re a villain or a hero, she’s really outspoken. And while that doesn’t sound particularly angsty I feel like she weighs others concerns in a higher priority of her own too frequently, enough to maybe doubt when it’s okay for her to also require comfort or counsel. Especially as she has to go through more traumatic things, it gets more necessary to have someone to talk to, but she doesn’t want to burden anyone with that kind of responsibility.
* I feel like Mei would have a lot of scars, not any major or life threatening ones, but quite a large amount of just smaller or medium-sized scars. She wouldn’t exactly be insecure about them but they are a bit of reminder to her of what she could’ve done right or done better.
* Former-ish approval issues. I think all of the traffic-light trio deal with this in varying degrees of severity and in various ways depending on who they’re seeking approval from. Similarly to Red Son, her need to be accepted is family oriented: Even though at large she’s already proven herself worthy through using the sword, I feel like there lies a certain degree of doubt deep down if she truly is. Has she really been using it for good? Does she deserve to wield it if she uses it pretty recklessly despite her good intent? I think she would wonder if she’s been selfish with the way the sword is used, as it is an item to protect her family and those she holds dear. She would also likely worry that others would judge her for the way she’d used it, especially if it were her ancestors. Kind of like, ‘She can wield that super special heirloom not even we could and this is what she used it for? Unbelievable.’ type of beat. That’s among one of her greatest insecurities her family could pick apart.
Red Son / Hong Hai’er!
* Need for approval. Out of everyone, I feel like we’re all aware of how desperate Red Son is for gratification, it’s frequently seen from the pilot to season 2. A lot of that may be a bit of a trauma response from not having his dad present for the majority of his really impactful, crucial development years, so he desperately seeks his dads approval from the moment he returns. I think it’s less about ego, (though he has a lot of it), and more about an inner need for affection. From what we know or infer from the show, his parents do love him, actually to a large degree— but they don’t explicitly show it to Red Son in a way that he hopes for. Words of affirmation are strongly important to Red Son because he never received any congratulations for his efforts and achievements and he goes out of his way to spend quality time with his dad even if it means running a small spicy noodle place with him for a bit despite it not being the most enjoyable for his dad. He just really wants to know that he’s loved now because they weren’t always super present before.
* Self-esteem issues. An issue largely rooted in that same need for approval would be proficient self esteem issues, if he’s not properly fulfilling his tasks and assignments to the highest degree— he’s not doing it properly. If he’s not receiving instant gratification for his actions and praise for those said achievements, it’s not enough. This implication that if he’s not constantly succeeding has left lasting impressions on his esteem, he cannot stand the feeling of failure despite how constant it seems to occur. Each minor infraction is another late night as he stays up to correct his mistakes or work on his next great invention because if this one too doesn’t work, when is he going to believe he’s doing well? Are all of his inventions bad? It’s not their fault— he calibrated them all correctly, does the fault lie in him, the creator?
* Maybe a bit too much of a perfectionist. Though mentioned briefly before, Red Son would be a perfectionist by habit, if his inventions aren’t working it’s his own fault, the missions he fails are his own fault, so he works to no end to assure that success rates are any higher than possible— sparing no expense. This behaviour often leaves him sacrificing his own rest time, but unlike MK he was an early to bed, early to rising, and now a late to bed early to rising, cutting largely into his schedule because he expectantly wakes at the same time. When he sleeps however is often changed because of his late night escapades for materials and time he dedicates toward studying and researching new and innovative ways to improve. Often times this means he can go days without proper sleep, though he consistently hides that fact and avoids questions despite concerns being brought up to him about it.
* Very little emotional control. Though calm on the surface, he has only a little filtering or processing of heavy or extensive emotions. It can often be difficult to regulate and he can generally be rather sensitive and temperamental, which helps recognise his sleep deprivation. I also feel like he struggles with complex emotions from a lack of proper social interaction.
Tang / Tang Shifu!
* Low self-esteem issues. Though something that seems like a pretty common theme between all of them, it is a genuine issue because there isn’t much communication between characters to help resolve each others issues. Despite his philosophical and somewhat outspoken demeanour, we can see that Tang struggles with the idea that he doesn’t have value in comparison to others on the team, often mulled over in favour of someone who can do something practical with their skills or powers: of which, Tang didn’t have for the majority of the earlier seasons and up to 3. It’s hard to feel important among the special and unique, where you don’t stand out and are considered lacking in association with those who just seem to be on a foreign, distant level to you which you can’t even hope to achieve even a sliver of what they can. That’s how Tang feels on the regular, and on the off chance he does try to prove himself— it leads to dangerous and precarious situations he might even need to be rescued from. His only importance was that of knowing the history of the Monkey King with his detailed books, and it became obsolete when MK became more accustomed to his powers and Wukong was present to just inform them of the experience with genuine recollection.
* Again, I feel like Tang is just someone who’s constantly talked over among even his friends, but feels as though he can’t even make a complaint toward them due to his low self esteem— as though, because he’s useless he shouldn’t have an opinion and shouldn’t express often as if he should know his place and that because he’s valueless it isn’t his place to say anything or have any input. Though that’s just his own belief on the matter, it’s something he would just hold in, an unspoken inner worry even if the others express their concerns.
* He might be a bit of a sloth. Not in the way he is exactly lazy, I just feel like Tang is a character who doesn’t have the same motivation to get out of bed everyday like most others seen in the show. It’s more that it’s difficult to encourage him to do anything because he’s too consumed in the idea that everyone might hate or leave him because he doesn’t have the most practical utility and he might mess it all up for everyone. He would just be lethargic, like his body is coated in cement from the build up of negative insecurity, heavy and difficult to resist against no matter what he does, like swimming through quicksand. It’s a tedious concept to explain, but if you know the feeling, then you should be able to relate and understand this concept.
* It might just be my own personal HC, but I think Tang is the kind of a character who seems to have grown up a little too fast in his developmental years, resulting in a rather childish personality to emerge in response. A lot of Tangs past is quite the mystery, and we aren’t lead to believe anything other than him being the reincarnation of a certain monk as he starts discovering some of his own powers. He seems like his social needs were a bit neglected, so his only friends are limited to the group: him and his habit of taking free food largely revolving around the idea that it’s the only way to maintain his friendship with Pigsy outside the idea that they’ve known each other for a long time. Tang doesn’t want to be just another face in the crowd especially towards his friends. He just seems like the type to use his imagination to make friends, trying to be super social to make up for some attention he lacked from parents— if he actually has any.
Pigsy / Zhu Dachu!
* Scarred hands. As a chef, Pigsy’s hands are his pride and joy and his bare, most essential tool in the art of culinary. As much as he is a true professional, accidents occur frequently when you’ve got kids interrupting your time in the kitchen with their shenanigans every so often, it’s nearly unavoidable to have a couple slip-ups. Plus years of the art must have a lot of learning through experience, it’s inevitable to have them pretty roughed up no matter how light of an activity cooking is. Only those who’ve beaten dough into shape like a sergeant in the military for twenty years can dare to explicitly say otherwise. But it’s his passion, can’t get enough of it. The scars vary in size and shape, some are more faded and some more recent. His hands are weathered with experience but I don’t believe that’s necessarily a bad thing.
* Extended headcanon of above if you’re like me and enjoy the idea of causing characters you love grief and heartbreak— What if eventually he loses the ability to use his hands in order to cook? The heartbreak of losing what you’re most passionate about in the world ever? I think he would be utterly distraught, especially with how sentimental it has been for him and it being his entire career— he would be devastated to never use his hands to make something again. It’d be like tearing away his greatest talent, a husk of who he formerly was. But I don’t think it would really stop him, instead he’d live his passion through others— encouraging MK or Mei to try out his recipes, regardless of how inedible it might turn out, the point is that his passion for cooking wouldn’t rest even if you took away his ability to.
* He’s definitely a bit jealous of the new father figure MK has adopted, very easily and without much convincing mind you. He’s maybe a little bit worried MK doesn’t really consider him on the same level as Wukong even though he’d been the one to practically raise him thus far. It’s only a natural reaction, but I’m sure he’d involve a certain level of guilt knowing that it isn’t his choice on who MK wants to see as a father figure and he shouldn’t pressure him about it. He just feels that his position of his acting dad might be threatened by Wukong despite repeated reassurances. He’s aware that having such a disciple and master relationship is like a dream to MK but there’s an underlying fear that he can’t be considered on the same tier as the kids idol he’s had since childhood and that it might develop beyond that as they grow closer, casting Pigsy into the shadows. He just can’t convey that jealousy to MK because he’s uncertain it’ll make him seem immature and uncool.
Sandy / Sha Dali!
I apologise if Sandy’s one is super short I’m still unsure of how to go about writing him for the most part so I’m working my way towards it. I’m aware it isn’t super angsty but how could you ever make the big guy sad.
* Okay so my favourite headcanon for Sandy is that Mo, his cat, is actually an emotional support cat!! When he decided he wasn’t going to be super angry about things anymore and wanted to end his old ways of constantly fighting, I like to imagine that he went through several methods in order to find something that could soothe him. Getting Mo was among one of his last attempts and honestly he fell for the little guy instantly and now he’s coping with his emotions in a much healthier way. Sure, he might still have some difficulty with a fluctuating temper, but overtime he’s come to terms with the fact that it’s okay to be angry, and he’s working around making a positive environment that can let him feel things and still be alright and remain rational. He knows that his feelings are natural and he’s on his way to becoming fully in tune with them how he wants to be on his own terms. I think at some point he would’ve actually dyed Mo’s fur (though I don’t doubt it isn’t natural with lego physics) and styled him to match his owner so they could stay more connected and would be able to recognise him if he was ever lost. He’s really turned over a new leaf and Mo has very much become part of Sandy’s little family.
Sun Wukong / Monkey king!
* Alright, I think it’s time we got around to unpacking a couple of things from this jar of monkeys. Wukong has a massive guilty conscience over some of the shitty things he’s done. I don’t necessarily think he’s a bad person, truly I love the character but let’s genuinely consider some things for this particular section under a neutral perspective. We all know of his massive ego, and I think because of it specifically is why this is a guilty conscience issue and not a ‘I feel like I messed up, I really regret it and I should go apologise for it,’ issue. Wukong does not act mature despite his many years of living, (as much as I write that he does xx), he has largely made many mistakes and many of which he has come to overlook and regret as bad, yet he’s not taken any action to fix things. He is aware that he hadn’t been a good mentor to MK, though he is now actively taking the steps to amend his faults, he doesn’t want to acknowledge that his absence left lasting impressions, MK explicitly reminds him by asking why he isn’t trusted. He doesn’t really want to acknowledge his own faults as a mentor. This can again be seen via the fact he’s aware that he hadn’t been a good friend to Macaque either, yet instead doesn’t even reach out to him in an attempt to to make things right between them. Instead, he selfishly just considers him an enemy, knowing that he’d hurt Macaque by abandoning and casting aside their friendship the way he did.
* Unspoken trust issues. Sun Wukong likely has his own reasons behind why he kept things to himself despite knowing how it effected members of the group— mainly being that he genuinely believed he could take it all on by himself and he would figure out what to do later as it happens, as unorganised and improbable the likelihood had been— he was willingly sacrificial. And as much as one would consider MK and Macaque to be the ones with trust issues, Wukong was often tricked and lead around by the nose frequently in his mythology, and knowing that his story is technically canonic in the lego monkie kid lore means that he had to experience those things often.
* Underlying need to be considered high and mighty. Much like the kids, deep down Wukong just wants the same gratification as they do— with them as his opportunity to change for the better, he seeks out that approval for good, seemingly wanting to shed at least some of his negatively viewed trickster titles in order to pursue a better path with their help. I feel like he needs to be reminded and assured that he’s doing a good job and that it takes time for people to change their minds. He doesn’t want to be viewed negatively, just viewed as an equal to others on the most part, and not just some immortal demon monkey.
Macaque / Liu’er Mihou!
* Has frequent night terrors. If you’ve seen another post of mine then you’ll know I personally Hc Macaque to have frequent haunting dreams that plague him throughout the night, greatly inhibiting his sleep schedule and causing some great signs of sleep deprivation on the days this occurs. A lot of it is just memories of what Lady Bone Demon has done to him, or what she could do to him if he isn’t careful and others are just traumatic scenes that have greatly impacted him at some point. He often winds up lethargic and fatigued on the days where the severity of the dreams are worse he winds up having lost more rest than he gained, ridding him of any chance of wreaking havoc for the time being. The worst extent of these terrors may cause him sleep paralysis, which combined with vivid and realistic images can make it very difficult to maintain a healthy sleeping pattern.
* In the last couple episodes of season 3, we see Macaque gets his body partially hijacked by some of LBD’s magic, (arm, eye, a bit of his leg on the right side if I can recall), which I firmly believe cannot be good for him in any way, shape or form. This likely has left weird scarring in its place, maybe some discolouration of his fur or skin, whatever it may be. And if you’re like me, I would consider those scars massive sensitive bundles of nerves and tender flesh that cannot be healed by the average means, meaning that he is stuck with large vulnerable spots where damage is twice as excruciating if he is hurt in those areas. And that eye? How it had a big ‘ol cross? He would likely have some visionary defects, such as no longer being able to see through it to some extent. This would probably cause him a couple of issues with depth perception and learning to adapt to it.
* Trust issues. Alright it’s a bit generic and to be expected of Macaque, but to be cliche doesn’t necessarily mean to be bad, as long as it works and I’m having fun. Macaque does not open up to people very often anymore after his friendship with Wukong ended on a particularly sour note. From what we know, it was none to Macaques own fault— but the damage has been done and for the most part it’s irreparable. It cannot be undone. He’s unwilling to listen to reason and won’t lower his guard to anyone. Abrasive and coarse, he isn’t easy to get close to, not that he ever was to begin with, but lowering his guard is what left him vulnerable to getting hurt to begin with, he isn’t willing to expose himself like that again. Once was enough. He would consider himself nothing short of a fool if he were to let it happen again. Trust is a very fragile concept to him because Macaques’ need to feel secure, to protect himself, is so deeply rooted inside that it can make it hard to accept genuine kindness— most often immediately assuming it’s false or a blatant lie. It clouds his beliefs and immediately places grey tinted glasses over his eyes, he immediately assumes the worst of people because from his experiences, they usually are.
* Like Mei, I think Macaque would also have a lot of scars— he’s lived a long time, I wouldn’t be surprised by the amount of trouble he’s wound up in over its course. He does shifty work too, it’s nigh impossible that he wouldn’t have a couple injuries here and there, because let’s not forget that he’s not a good person and he would likely do some really shady things for some cash. He would have all sorts of scars, from large to small, thin to faded— they’re everywhere, he’s littered in them.

(Hey everyone. I just wanted to thank everyone who read this far and liked my story enough to read it to it's end. I had a lot of fun writing it and it makes me happy knowing some people loved it enough to read it fully. If you liked this consider checking out my other works. Thanks to everyone for reading this, faving it, or leaving a nice comment. Like the last chapter this'll just be my Alternate HH/ZP ocs until I figure out what to do with them further or until Hazbin Hotel comes out.)

the au ask: uh, not sure how this works, but, let's say an au where the slime incident never happens?
Anon, no! I have about five AUs for that! You could at least tell me if you want it to be angst or crack!
More seriously, it's such a fun prompt because it avoids All Might telling Izuku he can't be a hero without a quirk, which is the start of so many vigilante/villain/quirkless Izukus.
But since I am a benevolent writer, I will not talk about the AU where Tsuyu and Mineta dies, then Iida, then Kota, then Mirio, Eri isn't saved, and so on.
Okay, it got really long so it's under a Read More.
All Might arrests the Slime villain before he gets in the sewers so neither Izuku nor Bakugou are attacked by him. The problem is that it also means that All Might never meets Izuku, never break his little heart, and Izuku never has the chance to prove his worth to All Might so no OFA.
Life goes on. Izuku still wants to become a hero. However, since his homeroom teacher told his entire class that he wanted to go to UA, his entire class, led by Bakugou, has decided to make his life a living hell over it. Constant taunting and people laughing at him.
It takes its toll on him.
He still doesn't doubt that a quirkless hero can exist but the more days, weeks, months pass, the more he keeps thinking of how easier it would be if he had a quirk.
A dangerous thought. One he usually doesn't allow himself to think because why whine about what is impossible to have? But one boy can only take "What a useless quirkless Deku like you do?" before he starts to get haunted by strange thoughts. Cough... urges... Cough.
It also makes him eager to prove himself. Maybe that's why he intervenes that evening when he sees a villain trying to hurt someone. Except that once the civilian he helped is running to call a hero, he is reminded that he is a smol child made of only skin and bones and that the guy in front of him is about to bash his head in.
He tries to protect himself, his hand grabbing the villain by the head and in this moment, as he is sure that he is about to be killed, he thinks the one selfish thought that he ever thought:
"It's unfair... that this quirk belongs to someone like you... instead of me."
And just like that, Izuku takes a quirk for the first time.
The villain runs in terror and Izuku runs (in the other direction) in confusion. Soon, it's pretty clear that he apparently had the ability to take and give quirks (thank you, Mom, who has volunteered to try the villain's quirk. Though it's strange how she keeps trying to call someone on her phone these days. But it's probably not important.) Which is a very cool quirk.
Izuku now has to pass from "No quirk at all" to "Can have whatever quirk he wants", which is quite dizzying.
He is so fired up for the UA exam, five months from then. Ridiculously happy bean.
Meanwhile, Mirio gets OFA because no successor showed the self sacrificial spirit that could have inspired All Might and both GT and Nighteye kinda pressures him into choosing a successor ASAP.
This has disastrous consequences as OFA is way too powerful for Mirio and starts to put an insane strain on his body. One month later, while fighting a villain (he has his hero license), he collapses on the side of the road, black lines all over his body as the quirk is killing him.
Izuku finds him and calls an ambulance ASAP but Mirio is is really bad shape. He asks him what happened and Mirio, half delirious, tells him that his quirk is killing him.
Izuku is very "????" but he can help! He can take the quirk away! But Lemillion would be quirkless! He can't take this decision! But Mirio can so he asks.
Mirio is half conscious. Completely in pain. He didn't even want that quirk. He likes Permeation. So, half delirious as he was, he might have mumbled something like "Take that thing out of me."
Izuku does, realizes that Mirio has two quirks so he leaves him the one that doesn't feel as heavy as a freaking dwarf star. Lemillion immediately starts to stop looking like he will drop dead any moment from now and the ambulance arrives, taking the hero student away.
Since Izuku doesn't have the All Might telling him that OFA is a good quirk, he acts like a sensible person: this quirk doesn't feel normal and it apparently kills its user. So he waits about 20 seconds before getting rid of it. He finds a nice and sturdy lizard, who, unbeknownst to everyone, becomes the 10th user of OFA.
The quirk comes back to Izuku.
Quirks aren't supposed to do that.
The freaking quirk is cursed. Izuku accepted a cursed quirk.
I cannot begin to describe how Izuku doesn't trust OFA in this AU. He doesn't use it. He intensively dislikes it. He tries everything and more to get rid of it but no matter what living organism he selects, the damn thing keeps coming back.
Meanwhile, Mirio wakes up from the hospital alive :) then remembers he gave a host-killing-quirk to a smol child. O.O
Panic ensues.
All Might realizes that whoever took OFA put his hand on Mirio's head, the same way AFO does. So it was probably AFO with a fun new shapeshifting quirk.
More panic ensues.
Meanwhile, AFO, alive indeed and who has been watching Mirio wastes away and enjoying the hell out of it (though he would have preferred it had happened one generation sooner) is furious that Yagi 2.0 isn't dying anymore because it means OFA passed to someone else! And since everyone in the OFAteam is quite panicked, they apparently lost the quirk he gave his little brother!
He gets so upset about it that he somehow misses the hundred of phonecalls from his wife.
So AFO and All Might alike are looking for someone with OFA but since Izuku just isn't using it, they aren't finding it.
Meanwhile, the Vestiges went from "AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHH, SOMEONE WITH AFO!!!! AHHHHHH!" to "What do you mean: You don't want to use us? We're not good enough for you???"
So OFA is doing the quirk equivalent of a cat purring and showing its belly so it can get some pet.
Izuku: "You know what? I know it's a trap but since I don't want to outright call a quirk evil, I will give you one chance to prove to me you're not a cursed power that wants my death."
Cue two broken legs.
Well, that's it. Izuku gave that nasty quirk the benefit of the doubt. He is never using it again. And since the damn thing is trying to contaminate his other quirks, he is vaulting it forever!
The irony is not lost on First.
The day of the entrance exam arrives and Izuku does quite well with his good, non cursed quirks, thank you very much.
And as he is leaving, he sees Lemillion! He is happy to see him in good health! He waves at him!
Meanwhile, Mirio spent the last five months trying to find that awful quirk he lost. He was half convinced he had given him to the Symbol of Evil and had trouble seeing the problem because if OFA would eat AFO, where was the problem? He is wondering if he condemned a kid to death. He Is Going Through A Lot.
He wants to say so many things, ask so many questions. And the one thing he manages to blurt out is "GET HIM!"
Tamaki and Nejire immediately shoulder slam a small child. They didn't even hesitate.
That's the story of how the Mighty team found OFA again.
Izuku loves hanging out with All Might but not even him can convince him that the quirk isn't cursed.

What do you think an AU where the Diaboys and Yui are just normal humans would be like? I imagine something like this:
The triplets, Subaru, Kou, Yuma, Azusa and Yui are college students. Shu, Reiji and Ruki work at the company of their billionaire father, Karlheinz.
Kino is the unrecognized son who seeks to take over his father's company and take revenge on his brothers.
The Mukami and the Sakamaki do not get along well.
Yui was adopted by Karlheinz when she was ten years old, however, she did not grow up with the Sakamaki and Mukami brothers, (Karl kept her away from his sons and his wives).
As in canon, Karl would be very pleased if Yui falls in love with one of his sons.
The Tsukinami are one of the richest and most powerful families in the world and as in canon they see Karlheinz as their greatest rival.
What do you think? I think my headcanons are very cliché, so feel free to add your own.
I don't think there's anything wrong with clichés anon! And I wouldn't have said your headcanons are anyway.
When I imagine AUs where the diaboys are normal humans, I will admit it's usually for the sole purpose of shipping myself with Shin so they tend to be routed in my life and my own experiences to a degree.
I definitely like the idea of the guys being college students rather than high school students, especially as they're all older than the ages they give for school so the only character you're really aging up is Yui.
Personally I like the idea of Karl being a businessman/politician because it ties into his identity as Sakamaki Tougo (and also because I think the characterisation of bastard politician fits him well).
I would imagine that rather than having the Sakamaki brothers for his experiments like he does in canon, in a modern AU, Karl uses them as tools to further his public image, same thing with the Mukamis.
I personally wouldn't have Karl adopt Yui because I'm just not too into the idea (she deserves a good parent) but if that's what you want to picture then more power to you. I'd probably have her brought in by Karl in the hopes of fixing his sons attitudes after they cause some sort of media ruckus, secretly planning on handing over the business to whoever ends up with her as it'll make for good press if his successor has a pretty well-mannered wife. The Mukami brothers are brought in to make sure his sons don't terrorise her too much, but they see it as a chance to prove that they're better than Karl's biological sons so Ruki can inherit the business.
As for the Tsukinamis, in any sort of AU where they're human, I tend to headcanon them as coming from an old money family that's recently fallen into ruin. Personally I'd set it up so that Giesbach was some sort of political rival of Karl, who then had a very public fall from grace (courtesy of Karl himself although whether the Tsukinami boys know that would depend on how friendly I want them to be with the Sakamakis in the AU).
The family fall into debt as it turns out Gies made a lot of ill-advised business decisions and Krone starts to suffer from a disease (maybe something hereditary) and passes away. Driven mad by the public humiliation and death of his wife, Giesbach becomes convinced Carla is plotting something against him and takes any remaining family money and flees. This leaves Carla and Shin pretty much penniless, made worse by the fact Carla appears to be suffering from the same disease as Krone. Shin ends up having to take a bunch of part-time jobs so they can afford somewhere to live, with Carla swearing he'll find a way to restore their family name and potentially get revenge on Karl.
It's not exactly glamourous but I do think it fits the situation they're in in DF.
I'd stick with Kino being Karl's illegitimate son who wants to shame the Sakamaki brothers and the Mukami brothers for a shot at getting the whole damn inheritance.
Anyway these are just a couple of my thoughts on it, if you don't like them then please stick to your ideas anon!

“...and I bullied him.”
hello, hello, good afternoon or evening or whatever time it is. so by now we’ve all had some time to bask in those “Kacchan admitted he cares about Deku” feels (well, technically they were “All Might pointed out that Kacchan was worried about Deku and Kacchan didn’t deny it” feels, BUT THOSE MIGHT AS WELL BE THE SAME FEELS, YOU KNOW). and it’s been lovely. I’ve been having a time. it’s been nice.
but now I would like to talk a bit more about a part of this chapter which I think was even more important.
Tumblr media
for me, this was the line of the chapter. this one panel may honestly be the biggest piece of Kacchan character development since all the way back in chapter 120. “I ended up bullying him.” okay but guys?? can we just talk?? about how absolutely extraordinary this one sentence is.
it’s self-aware.
introspection? from a kid who’s had to be dragged kicking and screaming to every character development milestone he’s ever experienced in his life? and on an emotional level that actually goes deeper, and doesn’t just stop at the surface-level anger that’s so often his instinctive reaction to everything? who are you and what have you done with Bakugou Katsuki lol.
but seriously, the level of self-analysis here almost stunned me, guys. not only does he demonstrate a very impressive level of insight into Deku (something I especially love because it mirrors the many analyses Deku has made of him, and shows that the understanding between them is actually mutual), but he also shows an unprecedented degree of insight into himself. like, historically speaking, Bakugou and Feelings have not always exactly been on the same page, you know? so for him to suddenly get so thoughtful now, and sincerely try to analyze these feelings which up until now he’s always ignored and avoided dealing with... that is such a huge step. also, bonus points: he recognizes it as a problem within himself, and doesn’t try to pin the blame on Deku in any way. he recognizes that he’s the one who reacted badly to Deku’s behavior. to be able to examine your own feelings like that and arrive at a conclusion that acknowledges that you’re not the good guy in this, that you’re the one who made the mistake -- that takes a level of accountability that not everyone possesses.
it’s self-prompted.
okay this one is a big deal honestly. no one put a gun to Katsuki’s head here and forced him to confess this. all All Might said was “you’re worried about him too” and that somehow prompted a level of emotional honesty that Katsuki has never before shown. now, based on the fact that the successors’ notebook is still fresh in Katsuki’s mind, and that All Might mentioned earlier that Aizawa couldn’t help because he was “busy at the moment”, this conversation likely took place shortly after the kids returned from their New Year’s break. meaning that this was basically right after the Endeavor internship arc, when thoughts about seeking atonement were still fresh on Katsuki’s mind. so this isn’t entirely out of the blue; it shows that Katsuki did, in fact, learn exactly what All Might was hoping he would learn from Endeavor.
but it’s one thing for this to be on his mind, and another thing entirely for him to actually confess it out loud. and I absolutely will give him full credit for that. he admits, without anyone forcing him to, that he bullied Deku. there’s no incentive for him to do this whatsoever. Deku isn’t there to hear it. he’s not admitting it for the purposes of seeking forgiveness. he’s simply just being honest, and owning up to what he did because he realizes it was wrong. and that takes a lot of inner strength, to do that. to not shy away from it and keep pretending like it never happened. this is a huge first step for him.
it’s a confession that leaves him emotionally vulnerable.
this is another big one. it’s not always evident because he makes a big effort to downplay it, but Katsuki looks up to All Might every bit as much as Deku does. he seeks his approval, he wants All Might to be proud of him, even though he very often puts on a big show of not caring about it at all. it means a lot to him. a lot.
Tumblr media
and Katsuki knows how much All Might cares about Deku. and sure, All Might is already perfectly aware that Katsuki and Deku aren’t exactly on the best of terms, and he’s always been understanding about it; always gently compassionate and attempting to smooth things out between them without being judgmental.
but All Might also doesn’t know everything about the two of them. and even with Kacchan and Deku’s relationship never exactly being on the most rock solid of terms at U.A., there’s still a vast difference between the way they interact there, and the way that they interacted back in middle school. when Katsuki was not only hostile, but occasionally downright cruel. and when Deku was still quirkless, and very much not on equal footing with Kacchan in terms of power, and yet Kacchan bullied him anyway.
what Katsuki is confessing here puts him at risk of rejection from one of the people whose opinion of him matters the most. he’s opening himself up to the possibility that All Might might not, for once, react with his trademark understanding. he’s admitting to All Might, I did something unherolike, and I hurt someone you care about, and I didn’t have a good reason for doing it. All Might, in the moment immediately following this statement, has an incredible amount of power over Katsuki. he has the ability to withdraw his support, to condemn him, to pull away and decide that Katsuki is not someone worthy of becoming a hero after all. he has all the power in the world over Katsuki in this one moment; a rejection from him would be a blow he’d never recover from.
and Katsuki, knowing this, tells him anyway. willingly opens himself up to that possibility of being hurt, of being rejected and shunned by the person who inspired his dream. because the alternative is being dishonest with him. this is, in short, a decision made because he believes All Might deserves to know this, and deserves to hear the truth from him. he wants his approval so badly, but he can’t live with the knowledge that he’s “tricked” him into giving it. so he tells him the truth, ready to face whatever consequences might arise from that. and I think that might be one of the bravest things he’s ever done.
it’s not attempting to shirk responsibility.
this, right here, is why Katsuki is my favorite character. because even though he’s flawed, even though he’s made a lot of mistakes, when he realizes that and is confronted by it, he never tries to hide from them. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again: to me, the essence of Katsuki is that he is someone who is always trying to be better. he wants to be a good hero; he wants to be a good person. when people point out to him that he’s done something wrong, he listens. it doesn’t always sink in right away, sure, and sometimes he gets stubborn and it can be hard to hammer that truth in. but once he gets it, he always makes the change. he never tries to make excuses. he owns up to his shit and does his best to course correct.
with this acknowledgement here, that he bullied Deku, there’s no attempt on his part to say that it was Deku’s fault, that Deku shouldn’t have done this or that. he doesn’t blame his parents or his teachers or try to act like he didn’t know any better. he makes no attempt whatsoever to justify it. it’s just simple, honest truth. back then, I ignored my own weakness, so I ended up bullying him. it’s a plea of guilt. no attempt to mitigate it or downplay it. the verb he uses, “ijimeta”, doesn’t water it down.
Tumblr media
“to ill-treat; to torment; to be cruel to.” there’s no attempt here to paint this in a flattering light at all. which is good. because in order for him to really atone for it, to really go the distance in his redemption arc which we’re all rooting for him to do, the most important step is for him to take responsibility. he can’t learn from it if he’s trying to hide from it or make excuses for what he did wrong. he has to fully acknowledge his mistakes. and that’s exactly what this is.
it shows remorse.
that’s right y’all. they sent my boy out to do an internship with Endeavor over the holidays, and he came back having learned the true meaning of Christmas. his heart really did grow three sizes. honey badger does care.
there is genuine, sincere remorse for his actions here. he’s sorry for what he did. he regrets what he did. there’s real contrition there. it’s not forced or insincere. again, nobody made him say this! nobody pressured him, nobody led him on. these are his own feelings. I bullied Deku. I shouldn’t have done that to him. I want to atone for it.
I know some people in fandom don’t think this is enough. the same thing happened with Endeavor as well. people aren’t always satisfied with restorative justice; they want retribution. they want punishment for his actions. and that’s a natural feeling; it stems back to that instinct of wanting everything to be fair, which I mentioned in another meta not too long ago.
but the thing is, retributive, punitive justice doesn’t actually help anyone. it doesn’t restore what was lost. Katsuki being punished doesn’t do anything to undo what was done to Deku. it doesn’t do anything to heal the harm that was dealt. it doesn’t do anything to make things better for either of them moving forward.
but do you know what does? restorative justice. making amends. which is exactly what this is building up to now.
it shows an understanding that remorse is not enough, and that in order to move forward he has to take action to be a better person.
Katsuki understands that simply being sorry for what he did is not enough. I suspect that’s one reason why he hasn’t attempted to apologize to Deku yet; because he recognizes that after years of tormenting him for stupid and self-centered reasons, a simple apology might seem meaningless at best and self-serving at worst. it puts pressure on Deku to make a decision to either accept or not accept it. Katsuki saw the Todoroki siblings struggling with a similar conflict not too long ago. and he knows better than anyone else how selfless Deku can be. “deep down, he doesn’t take himself into account, y’know?” and so if Katsuki simply apologizes, Deku might end up offering forgiveness that he doesn’t actually deserve, just because Deku is that kind of person who puts others above himself.
and so rather, what Katsuki has opted to do for now is to put all his efforts into helping Deku. he knows Deku is in a considerable amount of danger. he knows how much Deku has on his plate with the SIXQUIRKS and trying to handle all of that. and he knows there are other potential dangers looming which they don’t even know about yet. he’s been alert and anxious about this -- you saw how quickly his mind leaped to worst-case scenarios about the past OFA users; how he was sure that All Might was hiding something from them, and how agitated and apprehensive he got thinking about what that might be.
Tumblr media
“I’m worried for him. you are, too,” All Might said. and Katsuki didn’t deny it. didn’t even try. he is worried about Deku. he’s worried about what he has to face. he’s worried about him getting in over his head and something happening to him. and so the way that he has chosen to try and atone is to help him. with his training, with his quirks; whatever he can do. if he needs to push him he’ll push him. whatever he can do to help make him stronger. and if he needs to protect him, he’ll do that too.
Tumblr media
atonement is not the same thing as forgiveness. atonement is about trying to make up for what you did, to try and correct your mistakes however you can. it doesn’t mean you’re pardoned from them. all it means is that you’ve acknowledged them, and are doing your best -- doing whatever you can -- to repair the harm done, and to be a better person going forward. and sometimes there is no way to ever completely make up for it. sometimes you can’t undo the harm, because you can’t go back and change the past. the only thing you can change is the now, and the future.
and so Katsuki is trying to atone. he’s trying to be the friend Deku deserves now, since he wasn’t before. he’s trying his best to make things right, and it all starts with this one sentence. that acknowledgement of what he did, of what can’t be changed. acknowledgement of the mistake, so that he can learn from it, so that it never happens again.
so yeah. BnHA Redemption Arcs strike again. Horikoshi you smooth son of a bitch.
