Pacific Rim was so good. It is more subtle than usual but still obv the shoehorning of “sexual tension” and his shounen boyness.

I don’t get why it fell off. Fuck whatever the hell else disney is doing this needs more light.

If it’s “because the second one sucked” it’s the same shounen boy treatment just with someone with middle pubescent breasts! Heaven forbid a fEmAlE gets a main role that ISNT sexualised.

It’s been a few years since I’ve been able to watch the second, but marvel movies are rampant brainrot—no, I’m not being the typical mysogynistic “movie reviewer,” everyone knows the franchise is nothing but character assassination, poor retcons, nearly purely token inclusion which means poor characterization, and shitdick “humor”—PROVE that it’s not the plot or characters that matter, it’s the big things fighting other big things.

PR2 expands that world via the view of different characters and sets up an EPIC WAR to come. Of course it’s not “gonna be like PR1,” it’s a SEQUEL.

AND there’s an poorly animated series! It’s good!!!

If there’s “too much of a gap” between movies, give people ample warning so they can catch up themselves or have a multishowing.
