He ran around with his dads friends and failed to make friends his age. He eventually met Stephen Booker in 4th Grade and they soon became best friends. They hung out all the time, and Elvis and Halle Mae were just happy that their son had made some true friends, not just his Uncles.

When she had her babies, Halle felt so alone without El with her, but Jerry had stepped in and helped her through it. He was the triplets father figure but he never replaced Elvis, never could.

He couldn’t stand the special treatment he received from being the King’s Son. His mama raised him to be humble and he stayed to it his whole life. Ben was a big mama’s boy, who loved his mother to death. She had never seen a more selfless little boy in her life. Even her precious little Luke had times where he was selfish. Little kids are meant to, allowed to be selfish a little bit, but not her Benji. He would stay up to help wrap presents with her on Christmas Eve, he would take his own birthday money to help pay for his older sister's Barbie dreamhouse. He loved his mother and he loved Olivia more than anything in the world. Ben and Olivia were as close as ever. Calvin used to tease Ben and Liv would always stick up for him and that made them stick with each other.
