Ramblings about Ulbrecht below the cut because I’m having feelings and slapping down useless character shit into the public space is my job

Warning for sensitive content mentioned under the cut (will tag accordingly)

Originally Ulbrecht was just gonna be a kinda one off guy for AskScrafty. Just someone to be “competition” with Solo, to help him gain some courage and such.

Someone older than Jody that Solo despised their relationship over. Enough to become brave enough to stand up to Ulbrecht and confess his true feelings to Jody. Then Ulbrecht would just kinda fade into irrelevance after a bit, same with Oxide.

But then Solo kinda developed in his own way. Then the addition of Priest and other concepts made Ulbrecht’s addition obsolete and kinda pointless.

So I started working more on the Arc that Ulbrecht/Oxide appear in. Making it more about Jody being separated from everyone else and how that effects her and how it effects Diane (who becomes afflicted with her curse in Jody’s absence).

But then I thought about Jody and what I could do to bring more to the table on her relationship building.

Ulbrecht originally was just. Something she could smash like I’m sorry it’s blunt and vulgar but that was basically it. And Oxide was just Ulbrecht’s little “lacky” that occasionally swore. Nothing major

So then I started to develop Ulbrecht and Oxide more to add flavor. Giving Ulbrecht some basic bitch “oh I’m a assassin I kill people ooooo aren’t I sexy” kinda thing. And Oxide becoming more of a “loveable sidekick” to Ulbrecht. Less “dumb lacky for Ulbrecht to pick on and bring him his slippers” but more of a legit person with a actual personality

Then I looked into Ulbrecht and Oxide in general. Oxide was a orphan that Ulbrecht picked up to use as a lacky. So I went huh. Now that their relationship is better, maybe we can kinda get some “adopted this lost child” going on. Cuz I’m a sucker for found family.

Then their relationship got more wholesome and whatnot and I was satisfied. But then I just. Ulbrecht I just didn’t see anything with him. I didn’t have anything for him other than “crybaby backstory now I kill people for money”.

So naturally I had to work into it deeper and what IS Ulbrecht’s backstory. And at THAT point I realized I needed to make a drastic change to everything in a way that I enjoyed.

So here we are now.

Ulbrecht grew up with his sister and his parents. His father is a horrible person, real into illegal gambling and other things of that nature. Naturally the father drags his family down with him.

Ulbrecht eventually loses his mother after his father gambles with some Russian Roulette (using her as the subject) and it kills her.

Once his mother is gone, Ulbrecht and his sister are entirely under his fathers control.

His father decides to use Ulbrecht for little odd dangerous errands on his behalf. Usually to have Ulbrecht take the beating for not paying gambling losses.

Eventually father begins to see how “sturdy” Ulbrecht is and how quickly he seems to heal.

Father gets like. Trademark BigDollarSign Eyes. And decides to enter Ulbrecht into those under ground fight rings, basically forcing a 15 year old to fight grown adults in a under ground ring.

Ulbrecht learns to get good at fighting (he snaps a bit) and father ends up making a lot of money off him.

Ulbrecht also ends up getting someone pregnant at 15 and gets stuck with the baby (I won’t go into much detail about this as it involves grooming)

Father kills the woman who Ulbrecht was with because she was a creep, but forces Ulbrecht to keep the baby as “real men stand behind their mistakes” or some bullshit reasoning. His father is a awful person just reiterating. So his morals and things he shoved on Ulbrecht are supposed to be irrational and stupid (much like irl people deal with these situations COUGH I’mnotprojecting COUGH)

So Ulbrecht begins to have to juggle with raising a baby at 15 along with continuing his fathers fight club. (With SOME help from his sister when father wasn’t watching, as he told her to not help Ulbrecht)

So the baby is, quite simply. That is Oxide. Oxide is now Ulbrecht’s biological father. So that explains their connection now.

Ulbrecht grows up and such, eventually leaving the “underground fighting” and becoming a more well known legit fighter. He uses most of his money to help raise Oxide and get him what he needs (the other half goes to Father)

And reaching the point to where he’s in the blog, he’s a full on lethal ass higher dude. I don’t wanna say boxing because his fights are still more brutal. Like those underground fights but more legal if that makes sense. So now he’s a big beefy guy with his 19 year old son.

He still works for his father and such but he’s accepted it by now.

Until Jody comes into play. Lost and away from everyone else she ends up in Ulbrecht’s company (I can’t say more spoilers or something idk I’m working on it)

Eventually they enjoy each others company. Both eventually confide in one another with their CSA experiences. Because both really just shove it out of their head but seeing the other deal with it helps both of them really “come to terms” with it and begin proper healing

And blahblahblagblag did anyone even read all of this? I don’t care I typed it out anyways

But yeah. Ulbrecht has come a long way for me as my character and honestly I just am happy he’s like. A character now? And not like… NPC who speaks twice then explodes.

I know nobody really cares that much about ask-Scrafty but listen. Listen to me. I have spent a unholy amount of time on the characters and story for that specific thing. They are important to me in more ways than one and I will DIE on this hill over these stupid lizards.

I know the common interpretation of Chrissy is that she’s dealing with an ED, but I was so sure that she was pregnant. ((Fun fact about Pixie, she refuses to drink or use anything stronger than a vape pen. She used to fool around with alcohol and stuff when she was in high school, partly because she was in with a bad crowd and partly because it gave her an escape from her problems, but when she saw her old "friends" starting to go down the road her dear old mother did, it gave her a rude awakening.

A girl in her friend group was doing a fucking keg stand less than a week after she let it slip to the rest of them that she was pregnant. She saw this girl who she thought was her friend doing to her kid what Lisa put her through, what she had put John through, and it made her sick. After that, she cut the whole group off and never spoke to any of them again. She just pictured what her brother would say if he saw her getting into this kind of crap and that was enough to make her go straight edge.

She won't judge other people for drinking or anything, but she will get in your face about it if you make fun of her or anybody else for not wanting to.))

hello :) could you maybe explain a little bit how dan wootton blackmailed louis?

ugh sorry for taking a while to get to this. The problem is I feel like the only two ways to answer this are by spending a week and a half of full time labor sifting through old posts and evidence to get every detail right and lay out an airtight case, or to halfass something very serious, and so I felt a little stuck. So since I can't seem to find a good halfway point, apologies but here is the half assed version, if you want to get into it more I invite you to do your own deep dive or talk to other people, but here's how I remember things. Louis has almost never on video explicitly said things about Larry not being real and/or anything negative about fans and their theories (mostly the opposite), up until the last couple years when he obviously decided to make a major change he didn't talk about Freddie much at all let alone saying he was his kid, honestly not that much about Eleanor even; except for in two major interviews with Dan Wootton, each of which lined up with a serious traumatic Tomlinson family event that they managed to keep out of the tabloids until the very end (Jay's illness and Fizzy's struggles with substance abuse). After the fact of those events a lot of small things that didn't make sense at the time came together to look very much like Louis traded those interviews (and those answers) for having his family's private matters kept private. Story trading of this kind is a publicly known real thing that happens, and there were various clues that suggested he was being leaned on about those stories to lend legitimacy to the idea that it was something that happened in these cases. Given what we know about Dan Wootton and how he operates even before the recent flood of information and even more now, I think it's more than likely that he has been holding the threat of outing Louis (as he has done to many other public figures) over his head for over a decade, and has used his family's tragic struggles to get Louis to dance like a fucking puppet for him and I will REJOICE at his downfall when it comes whether it is now or 20 years from now... because someday it will, he has made too many enemies to stay above it forever

***Narrator's Pov***

It has been about 2 weeks since all that happened. You've been avoiding Carl the whole time. Always giving him excuses, saying you have a girl's night with Debs or how you're too busy with your studies. When really you and Debbie had been planning on seeing a doctor for the both of you.

Meanwhile, Carl worked on getting out of his situation. He removed his Cornrows, gave Fiona his money to pay for the house, and he stopped doing his runs entirely.

This caused a certain someone to notice. How could she not when Carl has recently been working with her father to become a cop.

That's right, Dominique Fu*king Winslow, Carl's ex and your worst nightmare.

You two used to be friends until she found out that you liked him- Now she'd do anything to destroy your life. Throughout your time dating Carl, she has constantly tried to break you guys up. Of course, Carl being oblivious, never noticed. In fact, he's still friends with her.

His reason for breaking up with her was because she did, in fact, cheat on him. Though the only reason why he chooses to stay friends with her is that he wants her dad to like him so he can become a cop. Or at least that's what he told you.

But that all doesn't matter now. She wants him back, and she will do whatever it takes to get him back.

***Carl's Pov***

It has been about a month and a half since all that went down. You and Carl hung out occasionally, but you both mainly focused on yourselves. You and Debbie became inseparable again, and Carl had just been doing his thing until Dominique approached him.

"Hey, Carl~" Dominique looked at him. "Carl!"

Carl jumped out of his thoughts to find Dominique in front of him. "Oh hey."

"I just wanted to ask, how's your pregnant girlfriend?" She asked with evil intentions. "Oh, and your sister's pregnant too, right? What luck!" She giggled.

"H-how did you know that?" Carl looked around, making sure no one heard.

"Oh, you know, rumors spread quite quickly in the southside~," She said nonchalantly.

Carl started panicking. He didn't want to stress her out even more. He knew if his girl found out that the school was spreading truthful rumors about her, she'd flip.

"Who started these rumors?!"

"Who knows..." When Dom realized Carl was about to leave, she grabbed his arm. "Hey, listen, Carl. I know you're in a really stressful situation right now and everything, but I was wondering if you wanna attend this party with me?"

Carl looked at her for a second in complete disbelief at what she just said.

"I get it if you don't want to, but I figured it would be a good way for you to relieve your stress and everything. You know, since you're gonna be a dad soon, I'd figured you'd at least want to have fun one more time." Dominique smirked, knowing that what she had just said ultimately convinced him into going. "I'll text you the details later. Also, don't bother bringing your girlfriend. There's gonna be alcohol."

Then she left, leaving him to contemplate his thoughts.

***Y/n's Pov***

Throughout your weeks of school, people started acting differently towards you. Every time you walked down a hallway, people would start whispering. Your other friends started avoiding you, and people started staring at you more and not in a good way.

It made you even more paranoid. You knew you weren't showing; it's been only a month since you found out after all, and besides, Debs and Carl both agreed to keep your pregnancy a secret since you didn't want the whole school to know.

You decided to go talk to Carl about it. When you found him, you saw Dominique walking away from him with a smirk on her face.

What's that all about? You sneaked up on him.

"Hey, what was that about?"

"Huh?" Carl turned to look at you. "Oh, nothing." 

"Oh, um, ok."

You couldn't help but feel uneasy about the whole situation.

Why would he be talking to Dominique of all people... a-and why now?

You looked at him while you two walked down the hall. You remembered reading something about body language and how to tell if someone was lying to you. You weren't entirely sure if it was true, but you had a bad feeling that Carl was gonna lie to you soon.

Ding~ Carl looked at his phone. Stopping in front of your classroom door.

"Hey, listen, I won't be able to hang out with you tonight."

"What! Why?" You asked, devastated. "You promised you'd come to me and Debbie's ultrasound checkup!"

"I know, and I'm sorry, but I can't go tonight."

"Why not?!"

"Uhh-" Carl scratched the back of his head. "Look, I gotta meet up with Sargent Winslow for something..."

Carl then left you hanging in the hallway alone.

Sargent Winslow? Since when was Sargent Winslow more important than our kid?

You weren't an expert, but you were pretty sure that Carl just lied to you.

idk jayson ferin is a fascinating character to me (terrible father, fascinating person)... i kind of wonder if having kids at a young age could also be related to the ferin legacy thing? because if faye ferin is still active in the navy i'd assume she'd be pretty young for a grandmother, too. lot of thoughts about her relationship with jayson and drey.

Year 1679 - Part 1

TW/CW: Child Death, Death Mention, Teen Pregnancy

The year began with the Collari family officially confirming a new future addition to the family. While at the Ludovici home, Katharine was starting to worry about not having conceived since the birth of her son, when he was younger it was a relief to only have one young child to care for but as she and Leonardo tried, no luck was had. Though as days turned to weeks of little rain, maybe it was for the best...

In a way of distracting herself, Katharine was happy to treat her cousin and cousin's mother-in-law to new outfits though nothing too fancy since they didn't wish to impose too much.

February brought with it news that the young Collari boy had passed from unclean water. Ashley felt for the loss the family was feeling having lost her eldest but it just made her more grateful for her healthy children.

After weeks drawn into months by storms and poor weather, Giovanni Cesare finally reached the shores of the islands he had been dreaming of. It was a new start for him enough so that the moment he arrived he decided to simply go by Giovanni. He never vocalized the feelings but he always knew that his name was only his because his late older brother died before he grew up and on the islands at least, Giovanni Cesare had no legacy to continue or live up to. It was just him in a new part of the world his family could hardly dream of. He was quickly sent off to work for a wealthy family, the Bailey's to serve them which was a surprise to Giovanni Cesare as he had expected more physically demanding work but he was not going to complain about having easy work.

It was April when Cristofolo went to visit his love and when he saw her she was deep in thought looking troubled. He worried for her and questioned her only to find that their youthful passions had let to Antea being with child. With the words spoken aloud neither really knew what to do as neither had expected a child.

For Antea, telling her aunt about her child with Cristofolo was difficult as she knew her reaction would be poor but after the initial anger and shock, Gabriella told her that the young couple should at the very least wed before the birth of child to preserve what little was left of her niece's reputation for both her and her unborn child's sake.

Given the illegitimate status of Cristofolo regardless of his adoption and the fact that he had an older brother and Jolene's pregnancy, Bianca had little argument over the young couple marrying and like Gabriella, pushed for it to happen sooner than later so as to not have a bastard for a great-grandchild. While it wasn't the romantic circumstances the young pair would have liked for the promise of spending their lives together, they were excited to marry and so before April came to an end they were wed.

The good feelings following the wedding of Cristofolo and Antea came to an end in May when Alessandro's father died from the lack of water brought on by the famine and the loss of one of the Laurent boys didn't make Alessandra's fears for her own child ease in the slightest when June came and labor struck her. Despite that on June 18th, the Rossi family welcomed a son they named Iseppo. Though July brought with it news that the late Osana's husband passed in some sort of accident and his widow was more than happy to leave young Juliette in the care of her aunt, Orelia.

The work Giovanni Cesare had wasn't difficult like he had first assumed though his employers were often rude to him and treated him with little respect. Most of his work consisted of fixing things the lady of the house or her eldest broke in one of their constant fights or cooking meals. He tried to keep his head down as best he could but the fights were hard to ignore when they got loud.

He did feel for the younger lady of the house Vivienne as some of what they argued about seemed to be her future since her step-father was eager to have the child of his wife's first marriage out of the home and sadly the girl's mother was also of the same mind. It wasn't his place to interject but he'd watch to make sure that the young lady was safe when she'd walk down to the beach late at night after fighting with her mother.

As the summer progressed, Landon and Jolene repaired their relationship especially in the wake of the loss of their young son and the anticipation of their newborn.

Sadly it wasn't meant to be as August took Landon into the Watcher's embrace following a bout of sudden but severe illness and sadly the famine showed no signs of stopping.

One night after a particularly nasty fight between the lady of the house and her daughter, while Giovanni Cesare was following her down to the water he was joined by her younger brother who also felt the same and the pair were caught by Vivienne. At first Vivienne was shocked to learn that she had been followed by them both yet she was flattered that her young brother was checking in on her and while she didn't say it aloud near her brother, the fact the handsome young servant cared for her safety made her heart flutter.

And so even after the young boy left, having been caught Giovanni Cesare realized that there was no more point hiding that he wanted to make sure she was okay. The pair spent a good portion of the night chatting and making sculptures on the beach to cheer up Vivienne. Giovanni was glad to see the young woman perk up though Vivienne was seeing the young man in a new light not as a mere servant but as a young man who while still beneath her was now worth her attentions.
