You ever get lulled into a false sense of security during the first two thirds of a kid's movie that's good with a serious plot but mostly a pretty fun time, only to have the entire final third tear your heart out, chew it up and spit it out, crush it into even finer paste beneath its heel, and add the fine powder your ribs have been turned into by the sledgehammer it whammed you with as a seasoning?

Anyway Nimona was great, 10/10 would recommend, I was crying on and off for what probably totaled 20 minutes of tears.

Honestly, this entire chapter has been sitting solidly in "there's a lot of emotional fallout here from the previous installments of this series, and it is making me very paranoid about pulling both of them out of character," so I'm really glad people are enjoying the bits of WIP that I've been posting! Now that I've made it through a night out followed by an all-day party, I can sit, relax, and edit the shit out of it prior to posting so that I feel solid about it, hahaha. Yeah, I've moved around a lot throughout my life (including switching houses weekly between my parents most of my life) and I feel like one of the ways I adapted to it was just being very gung-ho about decorating and home-ifying a place I'm staying, so I'm so excited to finally have a space that is All Mine To Do With As I Please without being concerned about roommates, etc, etc. And it won't be permanent, but I'll be there three years, and that's a decently long time!!

yeah a Whole Damn House would be a bit much, and probably not as useful for the nightly bootlegging related goings on: see, freckle needing to stand around waiting for a ride before he can go shoot people. whereas mordecai can show up to the maribel hotel on foot, or at least have started out somewhere he could get a cab or whatever....and this is probably the closest to any relevant Living Situation Glimpses

someplace with a bed, and one with an art deco headboard....a modern style, so it's neither Antique nor unfancy enough to have less identifiable stylings at all. like just by guessing surely he lives in some apartment that's unassuming enough to live unassumingly in, with whatever alias, so something large & fancy would be unhelpful....plus if he's gonna be fairly rigorous in his domestic upkeep, it wouldn't really help to have a huge place, even if for the same reasons it wouldn't be too small (or old or otherwise unpleasant; hard no to slime mold, slime, or mold....) and like re: the rotating aliases, maybe he moves places fairly regularly for good measure, been at this like, a decade....tl;dr probably has some apartment/s that's roomy but not huge, nice but not Fancy fancy, at the nexus of practicality, resources, and preferences

good question! she's afab and had little thought into her gender other than not being into femininity. she is butch. HOWEVER-- during shadowbringers she started having thoughts like "is it weird that i don't mind when people think the warrior of darkness is a man?" but mostly did not think too hard about them. and then after 5.0 when she Absorbs ardbert (trans man) she gets hit with very intense gender feelings and starts using he/him as well. i like to describe a'vaya's gender as "woman (enhanced)" because i wouldn't necessarily say she's nonbinary, it's rather that she like, installed plugins to her gender... ?????????? so no baya is not trans but she's not exactly cis!

#however this brings to mind. guys i cannot find a voice claim for her that is not a cis man. currently the closest thing i have is #christian kane playing eliot spencer in leverage #BUT. i've been watching dunmeshi and namari's jp voice is like REAAALLY CLOSE TO WHAT I NEED. I liked both of the draft ideas, but it didn’t feel very accurate to showcasing the love dynamic between Kara and Lena as Leon and Ada.
