Dany and Jon's dreams about their antecesors in AGOT

Wings shadowed her fever dreams.

"You don't want to wake the dragon, do you?"

She was walking down a long hall beneath high stone arches. She could not look behind her, must not look behind her. There was a door ahead of her, tiny with distance, but even from afar, she saw that it was painted red. She walked faster, and her bare feet left bloody footprints on the stone.

You don't want to wake the dragon, do you?"

She saw sunlight on the Dothraki sea, the living plain, rich with the smells of earth and death. Wind stirred the grasses, and they rippled like water. Drogo held her in strong arms, and his hand stroked her sex and opened her and woke that sweet wetness that was his alone, and the stars smiled down on them, stars in a daylight sky. "Home," she whispered as he entered her and filled her with his seed, but suddenly the stars were gone, and across the blue sky swept the great wings, and the world took flame.

"… don't want to wake the dragon, do you?"

Ser Jorah's face was drawn and sorrowful. "Rhaegar was the last dragon," he told her. He warmed translucent hands over a glowing brazier where stone eggs smouldered red as coals. One moment he was there and the next he was fading, his flesh colorless, less substantial than the wind. "The last dragon," he whispered, thin as a wisp, and was gone. She felt the dark behind her, and the red door seemed farther away than ever.

"… don't want to wake the dragon, do you?"

Viserys stood before her, screaming. "The dragon does not beg, slut. You do not command the dragon. I am the dragon, and I will be crowned." The molten gold trickled down his face like wax, burning deep channels in his flesh. "I am the dragon and I will be crowned!" he shrieked, and his fingers snapped like snakes, biting at her nipples, pinching, twisting, even as his eyes burst and ran like jelly down seared and blackened cheeks.

"… don't want to wake the dragon …"

The red door was so far ahead of her, and she could feel the icy breath behind, sweeping up on her. If it caught her she would die a death that was more than death, howling forever alone in the darkness. She began to run.

"… don't want to wake the dragon …"

She could feel the heat inside her, a terrible burning in her womb. Her son was tall and proud, with Drogo's copper skin and her own silver-gold hair, violet eyes shaped like almonds. And he smiled for her and began to lift his hand toward hers, but when he opened his mouth the fire poured out. She saw his heart burning through his chest, and in an instant he was gone, consumed like a moth by a candle, turned to ash. She wept for her child, the promise of a sweet mouth on her breast, but her tears turned to steam as they touched her skin.

"… want to wake the dragon …"

Ghosts lined the hallway, dressed in the faded raiment of kings. In their hands were swords of pale fire. They had hair of silver and hair of gold and hair of platinum white, and their eyes were opal and amethyst, tourmaline and jade. "Faster," they cried, "faster, faster." She raced, her feet melting the stone wherever they touched. "Faster!" the ghosts cried as one, and she screamed and threw herself forward. A great knife of pain ripped down her back, and she felt her skin tear open and smelled the stench of burning blood and saw the shadow of wings. And Daenerys Targaryen flew.

The door loomed before her, the red door, so close, so close, the hall was a blur around her, the cold receding behind. And now the stone was gone and she flew across the Dothraki sea, high and higher, the green rippling beneath, and all that lived and breathed fled in terror from the shadow of her wings. She could smell home, she could see it, there, just beyond that door, green fields and great stone houses and arms to keep her warm, there. She threw open the door.

"… the dragon …"

And saw her brother Rhaegar, mounted on a stallion as black as his armor. Fire glimmered red through the narrow eye slit of his helm. "The last dragon," Ser Jorah's voice whispered faintly. "The last, the last." Dany lifted his polished black visor. The face within was her own.

After that, for a long time, there was only the pain, the fire within her, and the whisperings of stars.

A Game of Thrones, Daenerys IX

"Sometimes I dream about it," he said. "I'm walking down this long empty hall. My voice echoes all around, but no one answers, so I walk faster, opening doors, shouting names. I don't even know who I'm looking for. Most nights it's my father, but sometimes it's Robb instead, or my little sister Arya, or my uncle." The thought of Benjen Stark saddened him; his uncle was still missing. The Old Bear had sent out rangers in search of him. Ser Jaremy Rykker had led two sweeps, and Quorin Halfhand had gone forth from the Shadow Tower, but they'd found nothing aside from a few blazes in the trees that his uncle had left to mark his way. In the stony highlands to the northwest, the marks stopped abruptly and all trace of Ben Stark vanished.

"Do you ever find anyone in your dream?" Sam asked.

Jon shook his head. "No one. The castle is always empty." He had never told anyone of the dream, and he did not understand why he was telling Sam now, yet somehow it felt good to talk of it. "Even the ravens are gone from the rookery, and the stables are full of bones. That always scares me. I start to run then, throwing open doors, climbing the tower three steps at a time, screaming for someone, for anyone. And then I find myself in front of the door to the crypts. It's black inside, and I can see the steps spiraling down. Somehow I know I have to go down there, but I don't want to. I'm afraid of what might be waiting for me. The old Kings of Winter are down there, sitting on their thrones with stone wolves at their feet and iron swords across their laps, but it's not them I'm afraid of. I scream that I'm not a Stark, that this isn't my place, but it's no good, I have to go anyway, so I start down, feeling the walls as I descend, with no torch to light the way. It gets darker and darker, until I want to scream." He stopped, frowning, embarrassed. "That's when I always wake." His skin cold and clammy, shivering in the darkness of his cell. Ghost would leap up beside him, his warmth as comforting as daybreak. He would go back to sleep with his face pressed into the direwolf's shaggy white fur. "Do you dream of Horn Hill?" Jon asked.

Last night he had dreamt the Winterfell dream again. He was wandering the empty castle, searching for his father, descending into the crypts. Only this time the dream had gone further than before. In the dark he'd heard the scrape of stone on stone. When he turned he saw that the vaults were opening, one after the other. As the dead kings came stumbling from their cold black graves, Jon had woken in pitch-dark, his heart hammering. Even when Ghost leapt up on the bed to nuzzle at his face, he could not shake his deep sense of terror. He dared not go back to sleep. Instead he had climbed the Wall and walked, restless, until he saw the light of the dawn off to the east. It was only a dream. I am a brother of the Night's Watch now, not a frightened boy.

Sam from Trick R’ Treat Cosplayer: @jenumicosplay Photo: @cosplay_reverie Con: Dragon Con 2022 (Atlanta, GA) I created this dress to have to interchangeable trains. One that was short, for walking around the con, and one that was extremely long, that I wore for a villain fashion show and photoshoot. After my photoshoot during DragonCon, I decided to keep the long train on since we were planning on staying in the same area. People would accidentally step on it and with horror in their face, apologize profusely for stepping on my gown. To which I would reply "No need to be sorry! It's free weathering!" The beauty of creating a weathered costume like this is that you can always use more wear & tear.

Sam is the main character from the most underrated & amazing Halloween movie, Trick R' Treat. (If you have yet to watch this movie, you need to change that ASAP) Sam is the spirit of Halloween night, symbolizing both its innocent whimsy and underlying darkness. I had fallen in love with this movie the first time I saw it and it quickly became a yearly tradition to watch it during October. I had decided to pay homage to this masterpiece of Halloween by putting my interpretation of Sam in ballgown form.

Majority of the candy on the front of the dress was all hand made. The suckers were laser cut from acrylic. The candy bars were made from foam, foam clay, and real candy wrappers. (My boyfriend took one for the team & helped me with acquiring wrappers from Halloween candy). For the razer blades, I used orange plastic scrapers that I painted and cut into shape. A fun side note, the bloody handprint on my dress was made with my own hand. I had been splattering the red paint & then realized I had a lot of paint still on my hand. So instead of wiping it off with a paper towel, I used the fabric... strategically of course.

The Ladies of Team Green

Queen Alicent Hightower and her daughter, Princess Helaena Targaryen

Details Below

Please be kind, I’m still learning how to draw on an iPad.

I was a little disappointed with the costuming on HOTD, Alicent’s costuming and a few of Rhaenerya’s dresses were done the best but even then (and I mean no disrespect to the costume designers, I can’t sew something better) some of them felt discombobulated and the quality felt like a poor Halloween costume. Personally, I think there should be more markers of their higher status such as jewelry and embroidery and the like.

Alicent and Helaena are inspired by Tudor fashion, but the shape of their silhouettes leans more into 1880s Victorian fashion.

Alicent’s first outfit is inspired by Crimson Peak’s costuming as the puff sleeve robe is inspired by the Victorian wrapper dress/ night gown. The dress’s highly stylized jewels and embroidery are lifted from Byzantium fashion. Her hair is inspired by Padme Amidala’s hair in the meadow scene because I think hairnet styles are super underrated. Her second gown is more directly Victorian in shape but with enough Tudor accessories and embroidery to make it appear more medieval. The belt in particular is inspired by Tudor fashion, which I believe was also inspired by the rosary and I know Alicent would like the option to pray on the go. I gave her high necklines with necklaces over it because I think, in a way, she feels confined in her status as a woman and a Royal.

Helaena is more simple with her outfits compared to her mother. She has a Victorian silhouette because I think her mother does have a degree of power but she looks more Tudor like than her mother. Her clothes are more muted than Alicent as she does not want to draw too much attention to herself but her patterns and accessories do not make her fade to the background. The sleeves in the first pic are in reference to Renaissance fashion where ladies were able to adjust their sleeves and redesign them. I think Helaena is autistic and would enjoy the option to change how she feels in her sleeves from time to time. She has a belt in both pics so she can have something to fidget with. I’d like to think Alicent gave her long belts to pick at, so she wouldn’t resort to picking at her nails or digging into her fists like she had once done. I wish I put her in more red or pink but paired with the green and white, she would’ve looked too much like a Christmas card. However her fishnet design is maroon, almost brown to reference her house colors and to resemble dragon scales. The pale green dragons on either side of her bodice are also a shout out to her house because I enjoy more embroidery in period drama fantasies. Her crown in the second pic is more ‘masculine’ than I think she would go for but it is a reference to Alicent and Rhaenerya’s matching rings from when they were friends because I think Alicent subconsciously sees a bit of Rhaenerya. Helaena wears a silver chain across her chest with a pendant/pin of the Seven, another one of Alicent’s choices.

I think I’ll do the ladies of Team Black next because I adore Rhaena and Baela but I’m having a harder time thinking about what kind of dresses they would wear. Definitely Byzantium inspired to put them all in the same time period as team Green but other than that I am stumped so please tell me if you have any ideas!

okay i couldn't think of any special meanings so i just went with a bit i like from "lost sight of (who you are)" :)

Part of it was that Trent actually liked himself when he was with her. He tried very, very hard to be a good father. He never wanted her to feel the way he had as a kid—the way he does now. He never wants her to think I love my dad, but I don’t want to talk to him, because he is exhausting and he hurts me. He never wants her to stay silent because she thinks he can’t handle what she needs.

He lets himself be soft with her, lets himself be silly. If the gaffers he talked to and the players he covered could see Trent Crimm, feared and vicious reporter, perched on a small pink chair with a teacup and a lopsided tiara in his hair, very seriously discussing dragons, they’d probably laugh. It doesn’t matter, though, because they don’t, and even if they did, it would be worth it.

For now, though, his reputation is plenty safe. No one would think of Trent Crimm as soft, or kind, or likable, and that was alright, because he wasn’t, really.

hi you might know me as the anon who used to pop in and out on occasion to gush about how much she loved Edira. I’m sending this in much too late considering that Halloween is in two days, but it JUST occurred to me: if Edira was something inhuman, some kind of monster lady, what would be the right fit for her? I feel like she’d be great as a vampire, because vampires in a corporate setting are a really underrated concept, but she would also be amazing as a scary, greedy dragon. then keeping the reader for herself would just be adding the reader to her hoard, making them one of her treasures and prized possessions…

Ooh I hadn't thought about this!! You picked the perfect time, I'm in such a wahmen mood right now.

I totally agree with you-- I think shed be a very good vampire-- high cheek bones, blood red lips, long claw-like nails... she'd love feeding off her darling, using them as a midnight snack and watching the blood stain their neck; it covers them so beautifully. Instead of just hickeys, now they'll have to hide large bite marks and the cuts on their lips from her fangs.

I think vampire edira would be a tad more violent when jealous/possessive, being more prone to marking her darling to the point where its unhidable, forgetting that they can only lose so much blood at once, that they don't have the same speed of which she does.

But dragon edira-- hohoho! If she was one of the deadly sins shed easily represent either greed or wrath. I think being a dragon would fit her perfectly: Keeping her sweet little darling In her hoard, dressing them up in fine fabrics and jewels that were thought to only be owned by the gods. She'd love having them rendered useless on a pile of the softest blankets and pillows imaginable, watching how they sparkle from the gold decorating their neck and ankles, silver chains tying them to her cave. Shed set anyone who came near her darling on fire, her anger unimaginable when it came to someone trying to steal her belongings. raking her long claws on her darlings thighs shed force them to lean against her, letting her nip at their neck and take long licks to savor their dazzling skin.

But let me raise you this: siren Edira. An evil, enchanting woman with piercing eyes and teeth strong enough to tear flesh. Her voice is undeniably alluring, able to trap her sweet darling without fuss. They put up a fight when they can, trying to squirm out of her slippery touch. But all she has to do is push them underwater for a bit too long, or fill their ears with her sweet song and they become like putty. She revels in their obedience, showing them off to any creature that witnesses and wrapping her tail on top of them. She loves marking them up and down, her teeth etched into their skin as they writhe under her. Watching that blissful look on their face as her singing numbs their pain, their mouth opening as she cuts her clan's symbol onto their tongue.

She even tries to decide whether or not she should deafen her darling just so they won't hear another's song again. She's a force to be reckoned with, and won't hesitate to bury things under the sea if they try to harm her darling.

Explain the lore of a random animation

WOOAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHOOOOOOOOOAAAAAAAA

Yes, I can do that right away, thank you.

I don't know if this is for anything in particular, but I'll start off with Dragon's Lair and if there's something else you want me to talk about like Space Ace, those scrapped games, or something else, go ahead 👍👍

(I'm so sorry for how long this is. And also this is just tying canon together with headcanon, so take it as you will)

Alright, before we begin, let's establish something. Even though he comes off as a very underrated character in the franchise, the games and its spin off material seems to do its best to establish the character of Mordroc (not to mention getting a lot more of a canon description and backstory than Dirk, Daphne, and Singe). It's mostly established through canon material that he is the main villain, as Singe and the other goons are just souls he owns (or the dark kingdom residents). Most of the levels and villains support this motive that he's just building up his power and kingdom.

Another thing established through the games is that the castle is likely very infamous, and it's often implied (more so little details and once in the comics) that knights have been set out before Dirk. So then why do you not see bones and armor of past knights littering every once of the castle? There's 3 explanations for this.

1. You do actually see knights, one being the Black Knight(Phantom Knight?) and the invisible armored figure in the floor-tile level. Despite his ghostly implication, the Phantom Knight has a lot of once-human qualities; like his figure, his voice, and still having a horse. You can easily assume because of this, that these were once knights for the actual kingdom on the other side of the land.

2. In the lava level, you are introduced to the Lava/Mud-Men, who are fairly strange creatures- but don't seem to actually be aggressive towards Dirk at all. While they do cause and appear in deaths, their intent is not to cause them. In the first and most prominent death they're seen in, they work together to push Dirk into a geyser full of mud. As soon as they emerge from it, you can see all 4 smile, with brand-new one frowning in the middle that so happens to be wearing Dirk's helmet (Aka they were once people). In the second death, Dirk falls into a tide and is pulled to the edge of the river. From the side, you can see the mud-men gather and watch him as he goes down in a concerned manner.

And finally 3. Apparently it's cannon that if you get cut, stabbed, slashed, or electrocuted in the DL universe, you have a 90% chance of blipping from existence. It's fully established with enemies, but you do see it happen to Dirk a couple times in his deaths- so it's just an overall thing instead of just working on the enemies.

So yeah, the Lair itself has this function and motive behind it. You can probably assume the majority of the characters were caught and forced to reproduce in the dungeon (Giddygoons), were once people (Knight characters, and Mud-Med), or was brought as an egg and raised (Lizard King, and probably Singe)-as a ploy to build up the support of the 'dark kingdom' and its riches.

Anyways, let's talk about the other half of the story before I forget. From across the land, the real kingdom resides. From a distance their rulers bare no prominent issues. However, on the inside, the castle and its staff 'suffers' because of the princess not putting enough heart into her land. Princess Daphne is a unique individual, often stepping out of the boundaries expected for a young lady at the time (also showing more than what would be allowed in a dress + wearing heels before women were allowed to). Her mother, despite being past a point of having an adult child, resents this behavior and always looks out to correct it. However, from Daphne's perspective, she was raised to do something she never had a passion or attention span for, and often fancied herself for the lives outside of royalty. She was corrected constantly no matter what, and often scolded by her piers with the phrase 'A good princess is seen and not heard'.

Eventually, Mordroc's dark castle eventually caused a major issue for the kingdom's people, and a neighboring kingdom generously transferred one of their best knights to subdue the issue. Dirk, or 'Dirk the Daring' was born in raised in a far-off and small village by his two parents on their farm. His parents were not that well off despite the farm, but were very humble with what they had nonetheless. When Dirk was very young, his family's previous home was taken down to some freak accident with him in the middle of it. Because of this, the parents found that he was suffering from Noise/Damage-Induced Hearing loss. As the boy had no outward sources to recover at the time, he began to lose his motive, voice, and personality. After seeing this decline, his parents invested almost every last penny with physical trainers, signing classes, and medics to restore the boy to his former glory. This paid off well down the line, as Dirk was able to enhance his natural instinct, skills, and graduated quickly from squire to local knight because of it. Through his pay through quests and journeys, he funded it all back to his parents and moved on from any kingdom that needed his assistance.

Once the transfer came through, Daphne's overall confidence was gained back again as she finally had someone to talk to without being scolded or told to act feminine. It wasn't a love at first sight thing, but rather two friends who supported each other well and didn't mind if the other had something to vent or talk about. The kingdom suspected something before they did, as there would be a point where you couldn't see one without the other tagging along. Sooner or later, the friendship broke-and was kept in private due to how they expected others to react to two different classes coming together.

The Queen eventually found out about it and embarrassingly announced it to her people to throw shame towards it. Because of this, the Queen did everything in her power to split the two up. Despite scheduling multiple useless meetings and suitor dates appointments for Daphne, and threatening and isolating Dirk- even to the point of greatly lessening his pay-nothing seemed to prevail. Even as she grew even more desperate, she frequently sent Dirk out on su1c1de missions-becoming the more impatient as he finished each one- unscathed.

The desperation grew outside of her morals, as she feared nothing more than her bloodline not carrying through the kingdom- or having to suffer a 'peasant' being a prince. At once, she called for a meeting in private with Mordroc, who was infamously known amongst the kingdom. The Queen made a deal he couldn't refuse, as she requested for him to separate Dirk and Daphne to allow for kingdoms and suitors to throw their hat in the ring of claiming and marrying daphne. For his reward, Modroc was offered to be announced 'redeemed' amongst the kingdom-and offered a place as the royal mange (Local Mange-Mordroc is seen/supported in some scrapped spinoff material). Mordroc agreed, with intention of either a. corrupting the castle from the inside and claiming the entire land or b. having the plan backfire a little and either have a disfigured princess and/or knight(s) to add to his kingdom's collection (as interpreted by the fact that writers don't seem sure if Mordroc and Singe are in it for catching Daphne or Dirk-and can't seem to make up their minds) (Also a handful of the deaths show Dirk getting captured, so it could be a double motive thing-as supported by the Phantom Knight paragraph)

Taking it way too far, Mordroc sent out his biggest Drake Dragon to retrieve Daphne, allowing for one of his goons to announce to neighboring villages and kingdoms to send their best to save her. While waiting for Daphne's safe return, the Queen ordered her men to blindly do what they can to subdue Dirk from going out to have her. Eventually, the kingdoms lost a good amount of men trying, which began to worry the Queen of her daughter's safety. Her desperation overcame her and she sent out the majority of her men- having none of them come back. Unintentionally, she got rid of what was keeping Dirk out of the way, so he immediately went out to save his princess.

After barley succeeding- Dirk was able to slay the Drake and save Daphne. She eventually caught on to what went on, and denounced her role as princess because of how twisted and uncaring her royal family has shown to be thus far. Dirk purposed at some point during this period of transfer, and they agreed to live in his hut and live off of what pure vigilantism would bring. While this did have a steady decline in pay compared to what they had before, they eventually made little successes as the years passed by; having only a few kids of their own, but becoming a safe and open home to adopt children with unsafe, abusive, neglectful, or non-supporting households. (Aka, why they didn't age much between 1 & 2, and why Daphne's body isn't hormonally wrecked from having 10+ kids)

The fact that they were building up a family of their own with no apparent regrets leaving the kingdom upset the Queen greatly. She became desperate once more, asking Mordroc to help once more with no further elaboration. After being upset from the last 'deal' not paying off at all and costing him most of his goons, Mordroc took it his own way and decided to split the two by marrying Daphne for himself. When they were least expecting it (likely when Dirk was out of uniform), he took Daphne and disappeared with her across time. Mordroc placed the beginning of a banshee spell on her, which is further inflicted on the subject by mourning what is lost (aka why he rips her from her time to one where Dirk and their kids aren't alive) and the placement of a sacred wedding ring (you may recall that this also supports the habit of Mordroc mutating and disfiguring all of his subjects)

The Queen being behind this is also supported by a couple things in the first scene of DL2

If it just happened, why did she hear about it. It's the 1400's. Are we really going to pretend like doves are that fast?

Also if she did hear about it, it would likely be from Dirk asking her to take care of the kids. She literally neglects the kids for the majority of her screen time, and just focuses on killing the one guy who can save her daughter.

Without an ounce of explanation, she targets Dirk for staying back and not leaving an unstable hut full of children (in the middle of a dark forest) who just lost their mom. The game and attraction show that her intention isn't to help him or get him out-but she literally breaks into their home to traumatize a bunch of kids by trampling their house-their dinner- and yelling at and murdering their father right in front of them. This could just be a ploy to just get rid of him while Mordroc is executing the other half of the plan (Okay-you can also say that the majority of the villains are voiced by the same guy also as evidence, but that also extends out to the time machine so... eh? 🤷)

(Uh-yeah. The little DL lore 'expert' here; I have no idea how to explain why Mordroc's mother gave birth to a time machine, or even how a time machine gave birth to Mordroc. There's literally nothing that alludes to the time machine being once-human. Honestly I don't think he was supposed to talk originally-but then they just had to explain partially why a wizard and a guy from the 1400's can time travel. No other material seems to talk about the time machine brother. Dirk just acts like he doesn't hear it- and maybe I don't either because its literal existence makes no lick of sense)

Mmmmm. I don't know how to end this honestly because there's two endings to DL 2. One is the normal one where Dirk breaks the curse and places it on Mordroc; instantly turning him into an indistinguishable mass having to be put out of his misery. But in the directors cut I have no Idea what happens because Daphne's curse only goes as far as knocking her out and turning her purple once- and then Mordroc just screams as the ring is flung onto him. I don't know if 'Director's Cut' is the director setting the bar to how far Mordroc would go or not, but overall the first ending doesn't seem out of place or character at all. The full release even calls that ending 'Full Mordroc'-but I still have no clue what that means because it literally lessens his pay-off and motive. Maybe they didn't want him to die in the end to open for a #3-idk.

Anyways, that's about it.

as someone whos been in and out of the kpop sphere for well over 10yrs and witnessed 2nd gen -> 3rd gen and now -> 4th gen i know of no other music genre w a history so organized(?) i think it def comes from the insanely fast turnover rate of kpop groups; the 7 year curse is very real and i would argue most groups legacy and peak can usually be distilled into a few years

for example girls generations peak influence was prob from 2009-2013 (gee, genie, hoot, oh, the boys, igab) although theyve had hits outside of that obviously 2009-2013 was still the most profitable w their tours and japanese and american debut and the members started mostly doing solo activities after 2015 notably taeyeon debuted with I in 2015 [so far gd and taeyeon are the most notable kpop soloists w longevity oh hyuna too but hyuna always felt more solo than 4minute or wonder girls]

for big bang i would argue it 2007-2012 (starting w lies, haru haru, tonight and alive eps) although its a bit harder to nail down w big bangs notoriously long hiatus and g-dragon (2008-2014 heartbreaker, one of a kind, coup d’etat) plus taeyang’s (2010-2014 i need a girl, wedding dress, eyes lips nose) solo careers following a different trajectory and peak (2014 mama) arguable that MADE (2015) was their real peak before enlistment and after long hiatus

exo (2013-2017), twice (2015-2020~), shinee (2008-2013), 2NE1 (2009-2014), bts (2015-2020~) [i personally think bts peaked musically between skool luv affair and wings]

you can do this w any group the point is kpops insanely high turnover rate and the industry’s obsession with young and fresh faces makes it so longevity/artistic growth arent as valued as something new (there are an insane amount of rising groups rn ask whos the 4th gen leader on twitter and there will be violence) and kpop idols go into their careers knowing its not sustainable and most will pivot to acting, modeling, going solo, or something else and very few reach any mainstream or critical acclaim as a soloist from a group (big bang’s individual solo work early in their definitely made them stand out among bgs of that era as shinee also all went solo rather successfully they did so after shinee’s peak popularity) i think bts used a similar strategy when giving each member a solo song in wings. there also is always the one person that become the face and most popular eventually synonymous (suzy in miss a, zico in block b, cha eunwoo in astro, wonyoung in ive, hyuna in 4minute) etc. with the group brand thats probably not the idea for the rest of the group but it profitable and kpop companies typically arent too invested in their artists going solo if they wont be successful (contracts are usually only last 7 yrs) [new kpop idols should thank jyj (former tvxq/dbsk) and their lawsuit for korea fair trade commission’s 7 year limit for entertainment contracts; kris luhan tao also continued the sm tradition of sueing for worker’s rights] anyways idk what my point is here ive just been in the kpop meta for too long i feel old and wise but the message to all kpop fans esp new ones… its all capitalism <3 i know some groups self produce or wtv but its all for profit think about why youre buying 6 versions of the same album when you dont even have a cd player and if thats you than more power to you buying things is fun just remember kpop is not that deep bc its run by corporate overlords i’ll leave this with some potentially obscure older recs: a fool of tears - big bang, black hole - shinee, express 999 - girls’ generation, signal - f(x), dont flirt - winner [yg’s who is next was emotional damage produce101 before p101] , change - hyuna, mental breaker - block b (underrated rap line park kyung zico p.o. also from a meta sense bts and block b are very similar bts got a lot more success prob due to smart musical choices and marketing and a little luck

3. What ideas come from when you were little

Idk abt ideas, when I was younger I used to just make superheroes and I don’t really do that anymore. I guess I would say I still do vague fantasy environments in a similar way ie thinking of like 1-2 images and building the whole thing around that. I’m pretty sure this means specific ideas and like I feel bad bc I don’t really use any of them at all these days 😞 the thing abt getting older is that as you get older you have better ideas. Well not necessarily kids can be really creative. I wasn’t though 😝 I intentionally came up with an imaginary friend for a few days cause I was bored (when I was like 10) her name was Abigail and she looked like Mia from Lego Friends but if she wasn’t a Lego Friend but instead a human and that was the extent of her personality. Although I was like obsessed with both dragons and horses as a kid so I would try to draw them, and to this day I can still draw a pretty decent dragon or horse, and also any other animal I draw also looks like a dragon or a horse. I actually like drew dragons over and over before I got into drawing people (<got into drawing via wings or fire fan art). And now I don’t draw anything but people rip 😔

4. Fav character/subject that's a bitch to draw

Subject I think is complicated outfits it takes forever but the results are so worth it. The more detailed a piece of clothing is the more fun it is to see the finished product

10. Favorite piece of clothing to draw

I guess I would say shirts, not any particular reason they’re just like the easiest LOL. Jackets actually I take it back it’s coats and jackets they look cool you can add like details to them or have them be like a fun shape <3. Complicated sneakers are fun as well but dress shoes and boots are very difficult. Pants 50% of the time are fun 50% of the time are a nightmare same goes for dresses and skirts.

30. What piece of yours do you think is underrated

I don’t post art here or in general like that often + I definitely don’t want to like look for notes (I wouldn’t get them LOL but yeah I’m really glad I do art for fun and not for attention cause that would be very tiring) so I’m going to go with some drawings that I just liked and never posted or anything.

Taylor, you have the best taste in anime in school. So what's the best anime?

I, in respect for you coming to me, have been thinking long and hard about this question and how to answer it. it seems near impossible however.

The best anime is entirely subjective. My personal favorite is different from many others. It also depends on the genre you prefer. If you wanna talk about the sheer impact of certain anime, you can look to Lucky Star, Fruits Basket, and Haruhi Suzumiya for some amazing slice of life esque highschool anime.. I also think School Live! is underrated- though not by any means a perfect anime. Sailor moon also had a huge impact on magical girl anime, alongside Tokyo Mew Mew- we could also talk about the shonen that many first were introduced to anime with. One Piece is fantastic and STILL GOING.

Is the best anime something that fits the perfect bill of what an anime should be? is it the most beginner friendly? is it my favorite? All of these questions have to be asked when settling on the best anime. We should also keep in account waifu and husbando potential. Re:Zero, for example, has probably one of the most famous waifus of anime history with Rem. There is also a fair amount of anime I don't think are inherently good- but I love watching for sheer enjoyment factor. Sankarea is a pretty C-B tier anime with some weird stuff, but I ended up falling in love with it and, while not being great- the nostalgia factor has kept me coming back to it. I don't really recommend it, but it's the reason my favorite flowers are hydrangeas and it formed an appreciation for zombies in me.

Should art style be accounted for as well? The soundtrack? I think My Dress Up Darling has one of the best scores and art styles in anime. Spy x Family is one of the cutest though- which, alongside If It's for My Daughter, I'd Even Defeat a Demon Lord, are some of the best family anime out there for me. They're heartwarming- and while the plot is somewhat contained, that doesn't stop it from being great. Naruto and Dragon Ball Z had huge impacts, the isekai trope has thousands upon thousands of series to review- can one even judge the best anime when they could not possibly watch them all...? There are also niche underrated anime I believe deserve more recognition... but, after analyzing this question, I had to come to a conclusion. And to a conclusion I have reached.

Neon Genesis Evangelion.

I know, basic choice. But I genuinely believe this. There is no song that gets me as excited and hyped as A Cruel Angels Thesis- and this anime has done so much for the artform as a whole that leaving it out would be insane. It still holds up after all these years- and even thrives in our current day. This anime not only has one of the best tsundere tropes and generally just likeable characters with intense and interesting stories- but with emotional and subversive writing, it tilts what you may think makes a perfect anime on its head. The story stems from the depression of the creator. to quote: "It is a production where my only thought was to burn my feelings into film". He succeeded- those feelings radiate from every episode. The characters feel realistic, the art is BEAUTIFUL, and psychologically it can really fuck you up if you aren't in the place for it. I find myself relating to it a lot recently. It's incredibly consistent, beautiful, and has an ending that, if you haven't been spoiled to already- I refuse to be the one to spoil for you. It's had an incredible impact on all anime since- and there has yet to be any that live up to the standard it set. Plus the soundtrack is killer, and there are giant mechs. What isn't there to love?

#YAKUZA KIWAMI MAJIMA EVERYWHERE GAMEFAQS SERIES#

It takes elements from old sidescroller beat-em-ups like Streets of Rage, 3D arcade fighting/brawler games like Virtua Fighter, and even a little bit of Shenmue. I would best describe the fighting gameplay in Yakuza as a 3D action brawler. Upon engaging with one, kickass music will start to play as the game transitions into Battle Mode. But of course, since Kamurocho is a shady red-light district run by the yakuza, there’s bound to be some punks on the street looking for a fight, or your wallet. You can freely run around Kamurocho and explore it’s nooks and crannies, enter numerous shops and buy various things, talk to random people on the street and sometimes get dragged along for a substory, and play an abundance of minigames like play baseball at the batting cages, bet your money at pachinko parlors or gambling dens, go fishing, sing some karaoke, etc. People on the streets are dressed as Santa, Christmas trees are up in various buildings, and it snows from time to time. For example, Yakuza 1 came out in December of 2005, so it’s winter in the game. Each game also typically takes place during the year and time-frame it was released in Japan. There are many different locations across Japan that are explorable throughout the series, but Kamurocho is usually where a lot of the pivotal action takes place. In the first three games he was the only playable character, but in 4, 5, and 0, other characters become playable alongside him as well.Īll of the games take place in a fictional Tokyo red-light district called Kamurocho, which is heavily based on the real red-light district of Kabukicho. Regardless, he always tries to put his best foot forward and help better the lives of those he encounters. Kiryu’s an ex-Yakuza who constantly attempts to escape his dark past, but despite his best efforts always seems to wind up at the heart of some underground struggle. The star of the show is a man named Kazuma Kiryu, pictured above. So what exactly are the Yakuza games about? I’d describe them as an action-packed, over-the-top crime drama series. From the moment you lay eyes on Piccolo, he intrigues you, but he doesn't seem too keen on a conversation with you...Well, apparently he hasn't met you.

"[Name], can you help me settle all these Namekians? Relax them and such?" Bulma peeked her head into your room.

Your head shot up from the mural you were currently painting, you were crouched on the ground, a dorky smile on your face as you glanced at her, "Uhh, yeah. I'm guessing the Namekians are the aliens from the planet you were on?"

She nodded, "Mhm. What are you painting?"

You let out a tiny grunt as you stood and rolled your neck, sighing at the satisfying crack sound, "I'm not completely sure yet. I'm just going with the flow."

You closed up the paint carefully, not to spill any, "So far, I think it's a tree. But I hope something or someone ends up going along with it."

You cheerfully walked over to your best friend who was practically a sister, "But I need to take a break anyway," you grinned, "I'll be glad to help.

...

"When you said the Namekians...I didn't think you meant the whole population..." You blinked, there was so much green you could barely see another color. It made your eyes feel weird.

She laughed nervously, a sweat drop running down her face, "Yeah, I probably should have mentioned that to you."

You sighed and shook your head, "Oh, well. I said I'd help you, I'm not backing out now!"

And you didn't. You spoke to the Namekians, helping them settle, answering questions best you could (since you hadn't gone to Namek), calming ones who were frazzled, and showing kindness to them.

You were about to walk over to probably the fifteenth group of Namekians before you caught sight of a familiar Namekian.

"He looks familiar...Where have I seen him?"

...

Wait. he's that guy Goku fought years ago...and the guy that trained Gohan too, right? Niccolo? No...Pablo? That doesn't sound right...Ah! Piccolo!

He looks cool!

You found yourself walking up to him.

You waved with a smile, "Hi there! Piccolo, right?"

He opened his eyes slowly, giving you a bored expression.

"I'm [Name]. An old friend of Bulma's."

He didn't even blink.

"...Can you say something at least? I know you speak." You pouted.

He closed his eyes again, "You have paint on your face."

His voice is nice, you liked it...wait...

Your face warmed in embarrassment, "I do?! Where?"

You used your [shirt/dress/sweatshirt, etc.] to wipe at your face.

"This isn't doing me any good...I need a rag."

You turn to walk off when you pause, "Wait...you only mentioned that because you wanted me to have a reason to leave, didn't you?!"

His expression seemed indifferent at a glance, but as you looked a little longer, you noticed the tiniest of smirks.

"You're irritating. I don't get irritated," your cheeks puffed out. It was true, ever since you were a teenager you tended to be kind, a little bubbly, and mindful you did well at not getting irritated.

Until now.

"Then leave, so you're no longer irritated."

Was he mocking you?

"You know what? I'll leave for now, but I'm gonna get you to have a conversation with me."

You marched off with a determined gaze, "He doesn't know how persuading I can be, apparently."

Poor Piccolo, he messed with a person almost more stubborn than Bulma. But he didn't know that yet, he'd only caught glimpses of you here and there, this was his first interaction with you.

"Hey, Piccolo!"

He opened a single eye.

"What are you up to? Meditating? That sounds nice."

Silence. Then he closed his eye again.

You sat across from him a few feet away, shuffling through your satchel bag and pulling out a sketchbook. You softly flipped through a few pages before you found a clear one. You dug into your bag again for a bag you filled with many different pencils.

You glanced up at him, you wouldn't bother him too much while he was meditating. But you heard spending time with someone can make a bond better, so you'd sit in silence.

You contemplated for a moment before deciding to sketch a dragon.

"Can you be quieter please?"

You raised a brow, "Oh, I'm sorry," your voice dripped with sarcasm, "But shouldn't you not focus on outside sounds while you're meditating, Mr. Super hearing? Your ears are just sensitive, I'm barely making a sound."

He tsked.

There were a few interactions, overall they were kind of almost completely one-sided. But he learned more about you while you would talk to him...basically talking to yourself. You thought, anyway, he'd never admit he listened to you.

He learned you were an artist and you liked doing creative things.

He learned that despite your personality being more on the brighter side, you were crazy smart.

You were actually pretty chill and you weren't noisy and extra (not all the time, anyway) like he'd assumed.

You were really caring, you often talked about keeping up with his race, making sure they were okay after losing their home and if they were situated well, etc. You also cared for your friends.

You could fight, very well, apparently. You taught Goku a few moves. But you weren't feeling well that week, so you didn't go to Namek.

You were respectful, you never spoke too loudly if you happened to interact with him while he was meditating.

You had a soothing singing voice, he's observed when you hum to yourself...sometimes you forget he has super hearing.

He ended up finding himself intrigued by you as the weeks went by, even though he questioned how you kept finding him until remembering power level detection. He started...enjoying your company.

"Hi again, Piccolo."

You sighed, you were stubborn yes...But were you wasting your time? Maybe you should just finally leave him alone.

"...[Name]."

You gasped in surprise...did he just say your name?

You twiddled your thumbs shyly, "N-no meditation today?"

He opened his eyes and they met yours, "No, just relaxing."

Your eyes widened. Was he... conversing with you?

"Oh, mind if I join you?" You waved your sketchbook in the air.

"Why are you even asking at this point? It's been weeks."

You got giddy. He was talking to you.

"That's fair. I like sketching around you though, you're a lot calmer than most of my friends...all of my friends."

"I've noticed..."

You plopped down beside him with a laugh, your knees brushing, "It can't be helped."

You flipped open your book and flipped through the pages to find a clear one.

"Not bad."

You jumped and glanced over, his eyes were on your sketchbook.

"Thank you...Ah!"

The current page it was on, was a sketch you'd make of Piccolo meditating. You flicked it away, but it was no use, he'd already seen it.

He let out a huff of laughter.

You gaped and pointed at him, "You just...laughed."

"Oh? Did I?" he asked dryly, clear sarcasm in his tone.

"Shut up! You know you never give me any type of reaction to anything, I'm just surprised is all!"

"Mhm."

....

In your room, your mural was freshly completed a few days before. The tree sat in the middle, the skies clear, the grass plush...Leaning against it...was Piccolo.

Kiss the Girl - The Little Mermaid. I just love this song! The setting is so pretty!

If Love is an Open Door is considered a love song, put me down for that too!

2 Favorite villain song

The Mob Song - Beauty and the Beast. Okay there are a LOT of good villain songs, but this one is so underrated and Gastons voice kills it!

3 Favorite overall song *one mentioned or a new one!

It might change, but always high on the list is I Wanna Be Like You from Jungle Book. I don't even like apes LOL but this makes me want to bounce!

4 Favorite soundtrack

Tarzan. I love the songs. Even more because it was turned into a play and I love that version too!

5 Favorite couple

Rapunzel and Flynn. Yes I call him Flynn. I love their relationship, they're both adorable!

6 Favorite speaking voice *male and or female. If in a language other then English please share!

I have debated and..I think I'm going with Prince Philips voice. It just sounds so, classic. I could be swept off my feet by that voice.

I cannot with these questions! I feel like Elsa is a bit of a cop out but her voice is just so powerful! Ariels is very nostalgic for me.

8 Favorite opening scene

Lion King, Circle of Life, winner every time.

9 Favorite ending scene

Sleeping Beauty and the changing dress color is fun, or Little Mermaid real wedding.

10 Favorite mid scene *anything not beginning or end! Sleeping Beauty sewing the dress/cleaning the house (stop, mop! and fold eggs in gently LOL) or Sword in the Stone wizards duel with the animals (did I say no purple dragons!?)
