I’m seeing reader coming out and spending her first nights with Daemon and his fam sneaking out to gramps and curling up against him and just crying silently until she falls asleep😭😭😭

Then some random losers one day make fun of reader in the palace courtyard for being a bastard and gramps just pokes his head in and is NOT amused

Gramps just senses when the reader wants to leave somewhere and just yoinks her out of whatever situation she’s in

Part 2 I want to see the reaction about the basted daughter of Daemons having balerion as dragon green and black reaction

This is so good, I love this little series so much!

Daemon, at first, is so damn proud of his baby! However, it also holds some bitterness for him, considering Balerion was his brother's dragon as well. I like to imagine while bastard! (Name) is a spitfire like her father. She'd most likely be a peaceful person much like her uncle Viserys. Of course, Daemon, being Daemon, would consider using Balerion to his advantage, but that pretty much goes to the wind once he realizes that Balerion has no interest in war anymore. That being said, I feel like Daemon would come to resent Balerion due to (Name) spending more time with her dragon rather than her family.

Rhaenyra thinks the world of her precious stepdaughter. The little girl is everything to Rhaenyra, and our queen just wants to be a mother to her. (Name) pushes her away quite a bit, but after bonding with Balerion, she needs someone to help her with dragon commands. (Name) wouldn't want to ask Daemon, so she goes to Rhaenyra and Luke the most. Rhaenyra loves spending time riding on their dragons together, and after a while, I feel like they would get closer. There's a certain admiration that Rhaenyra has for her sweet little stepdaughter, but she worries as well. She knows that dragons can be dangerous, and she's terrified of their sweet baby potentially getting hurt.

Jacaerys thinks that it's so cool! He's always wanted a little sister, so once Daemon brought (Name) home, they were all elated. Jace particularly takes a liking to her and looks after her the first couple of months that she stays on Dragonstone. They're very hard on (Name), considering she misses her mother and siblings, but Jace in intent on making her life a little bit happier. He's a positive influence on her, and I feel like she's probably relied on Jace quite a bit. Rhaenyra is very supportive of this and loves seeing her children get along with their new sister!

Lucerys and (Name) are the closest out of everyone in the family. I HC that Luke is extremely good at High Valyrian, so he tutors (Name) in the new language so she can communicate with Balerion freely. Due to this, they become very close, and (Name) is very open with Luke. As for her and Balerion, Lucerys finds Balerion absolutely terrifying. Of course, this doesn't stop him from accompanying his sister on dragon rides together, but he finds Balerion unsettling. When (Name) is made upset by Daemon, she always runs to Luke <3

Baela and Rhaena are very proud of their little sister, Baela, especially. I'd like to go into more detail about their dynamic with bastard! (Name), but basically, they both adore her to bits. Rhaena would be closer with their younger sister, and (Name) would take her on rides on Balerion. Since (Name) is relatively young, both Baela and Rhaena want her to be careful on her dragon, worrying that she may fly off of her saddle or something like that. I should mention that Baela would be the type to brag about their little sister to others, she's just so proud of (Name)! I love them sm.

Team Green, as a whole, finds the concept of Daemon's daughter being Balerion's new rider. Alicent doesn't want to mess around with this kind of power, and Aegon doesn't feel like being eaten alive so I think the war would probably be put on pause. Otto would probably send a spy to Dragonstone to see if (Name) could be brought to their side, but since she loves her siblings so much it isn't plausible. Aemond and Helaena both hold much admiration for (Name), considering how impressive Balerion is. She is a bastard, though, so I think Team Green would probably target her during the war if it went on.

What are your thoughts on Winter? Especially in regards to how her dynamic with Valkyrie has changed. I dunno, some aspects of that were pretty interesting to me

What a good ask! I agree, there are some very interesting aspects to Winter! I really enjoyed her inclusion in the book. Spoilers for A Mind Full of Murder to come, in case anyone hasn’t read it.

I’m not going to pretend I immediately called Winter being Alice, and I think the surprise was very well done, but I did have my suspicions after her “Not any more” line about evil in her family.

Winter Grieving is a name that is almost laughable in its edginess, but for a jaded teen such as Winter it does suit, and I like that it’s something more complex and unique than “Malice” (even though I liked that character).

I also really appreciated Winter’s whole perspective on Valkyrie. She’s rather practical, and won’t ignore her sister at her own risk, such as asking her for help at the end of the book, but I like that, in a way that seems like she can’t even help it, some part of her hates Val.

I like that it’s not necessarily a view we can support, but one definitely understandable given the character and what’s occurred. It reminds me a bit of Auger’s doubt over his future once the prophecy was complete. It’s an interesting question of what a Chosen One does once what they’ve been Chosen for either happens or falls through- whether that’s as a hero or a world-ender.

What Val did was obviously entirely a selfless act of sacrifice and love for her sister, and I like that Landy doesn’t undercut that decision, but simply acknowledges that even an act such as that can have unintended consequences, especially with where it leaves Winter.

Also I like that Winter is jaded, but not cartoonishly evil, and instead, like a lot of teens, vulnerable to bad influences such as the anti-mortal movement in order to deal with their own issues. This is obviously only worsened by having such a famous sibling, and it makes sense for Winter to be lashing out a bit to cope with being in Val’s shadow. It’s subtle and concerning for a character we’ve seen since she was a baby, but I’m excited to see where it goes. Although one thing that didn’t really work is that final moment. Fine on its own and in the context of Winter’s story, but as the end to the whole book it fell a little flat.

One element of Winter’s story I also like is how, from Valkyrie’s side, there’s just a bit of a wall with her younger sister who she used to be so close with, which again is the kind of realistic touch that makes the magical world of Skulduggery Pleasant work so well. It’s also tragic for Melissa and Desmond, who should never have to experience anything bad ever.

One last note I like about Winter is her burgeoning magical skill. She’s not super powerful yet, as evidenced by her struggling with the classic fear vs magic problem we see lots of young sorcerers tackle, but she’s shown some elemental powers and, especially interesting, some pretty solid teleportation. Sure it was just from the ground floor through a window, but it’s been made clear how difficult a skill this is for any sorcerer.

So overall, really interesting character and story, and I can’t wait to see more of Winter and her arc and relationships in the books to come.

Rereading Fire & Blood

And random commentary I took while reading. First read it when it came out and read it a lot more closely this time.

Family Tragedies

The entire story is about loving families falling apart because they fail their kids. Aegon and Aenys. Visenya and Maegor. Alyssa and Rhaena and Aegon. Rhaena and Aerea. Jaehaerys, Alysanne, and... all of their kids? Especially Saera, Daella, and Gael. Alicent and all four of her kids.

Alicent really should have learned from Jaehaerys' death, because it foreshadowed her own. Jaehaerys was a good king but a terrible father, and he dies in the end thinking Alicent is Saera, the daughter he mistreated possibly more than any other child of his, come to make amends and forgive him. Alicent dies having lost all her children, wishing she'd prioritized her kids instead of prioritizing the throne for her kids. It's perfect tragedy.

Foreshadowing for ASOIAF

Princess Daenerys, the eldest child, the loving, compassionate, kind princess who cares for her little siblings, dying of the Shivers (aka cold: the disease) seems like pretty Obvious Foreshadowing Is Obvious that Dany will sacrifice herself against the Others, the literal embodiments of ice.

During the Dance of the Dragons, there're also some parallels between other characters in the Dance and those in the main saga. Again, these are not 1=1 parallels. The character's fates are not definite exact matches for where the main saga is going. But there is definitely some foreshadowing.

Baela is clearly Arya in that she's a kickass queen. She also marries Alyn Velaryon, a legitimized bastard. Wouldn't be surprised again if there's romance between Gendry and Arya at some point. There already kinda is.

Rhaena and Jeyne Arryn are both Sansa, right down to the Vale locale.

Sam Tarly is a girl this time who married her first husband's son for love and is thus accused of incest and there's a clear connection to our Samwell Tarly and his love for Gilly, who was subjected to incest. Again. Not a 1=1, just general ideas.

Sara Snow and Jacaerys, with the Pact of Ice and Fire, are clearly foreshadowing for Lyanna and Rhaegar and Jon and Dany, even if it's left very vague. Again, foreshadowing: rarely a 1=1!

The Red Kraken is Euron, and I do expect that much like the Red Kraken is destroyed by his own "prizes" because he doesn't see his wives as humans, Euron will probably destroyed by accomplishing his goals.

Cregan Stark and Aegon III remind me of Bran, in that George has said Bran gets the throne, but... it's probably more in terms of helping create the new world post-wars, and done in terms of delegating up power rather than like, lording it all for himself.

Daeron reminds me of f!Aegon because he's generally well-liked and seems like a good kid. However, he goes down in a city of flames that burns because of the Dancing of the Dragons--the one place they actually dance--which I'm pretty sure is Young Griff's fate. Plus, the sheer amount of times it was stressed that Tessarion is an unusually blue-colored dragon kinda reminds me of how Young Griff disguises himself by dying his hair blue.

Alys Rivers reminds me of Melisandre in that both are much-older powerful witches who have royal children although Alys's isn't a shadow thank the seven. Still, she works some kind of strange magic...

Biblical Allusions

Aegon's dynamic with his sister-wives reminds me a lot of the biblical Jacob and how he married Leah out of duty and Rachel out of desire (well, was tricked into it, but the same dynamic). Like Rhaenys, Rachel is beloved and dies young, but leaves behind a beloved son who is favored by the father.

Jaehaerys reminds me an awful lot of David from the Bible. Not saying in any way that there's a 1=1 intended retelling because there isn't, but there's definitely inspiration.

Maegor the Cruel dies impaled upon the throne's sword and the young nephews he tormented take over. Saul died falling on his own sword and David takes over; David is, like Jaehaerys, the youngest and so unexpected, good-looking, and ends up largely good at ruling. His tragic flaw is his misogyny even if it's not like, the obvious kind, and his terrible parenting despite truly loving his children. Also, Jaehaerys, like David, has a lot of kids and a lot of tragedy with said kids.

But wait: there's more! Jaehaerys is dying and that's how Alicent's introduced at court. She cares for him on his deathbed. In the Bible when David's dying, a girl named Abishag comes to court and cares for him on his deathbed. The Bible notes he doesn't sleep with her, but there are still rumors, much like with Alicent.

Anyways after a lot of brouhaha where Solomon is the heir but Solomon's older brother Adonijah tries to take the throne from Solomon, and there's a lot of split in the kingdom before David intervenes with like his last breath, David dies. Solomon takes the throne.

Then Adonijah asks for Abishag as his wife! And Solomon freaks the fuck out! Because asking for a carer of the former king is like asking for the throne (in the olden days of the Near East, it was practice to marry the previous king's wives if you conquer a land); he knows it's a ploy to get it, and also that Adonijah is subtly threatening him. He kills Adonijah for it.

Sadly in this case Otto convinces Viserys to marry Alicent which is. Indeed. a plot for the throne, basically like "what if" of the Abishag story.

There's also stuff where David's family is prophesized to bring the Messiah.

Oh and Solomon's wife leads him astray and as a consequence his son gets the kingdom split in half. Sounds a little familiar to Viserys and what would happen to his kids.

If we're going here why not point out Keeping Up With David's Family, aka the books of Samuel, also include brother-sister incest, kinslaying, and rebellions. Somehow this stuff is fine for Sunday school.

Alchemy in Fire & Blood

There are a lot of alchemical references starting with Aegon's conquering. "On the seventh day, a cloud of ravens burst forth from the towers of Dragonstone" makes me think of this image:

The overall idea is that this starts the alchemical process, which will end in the prophesized Azor Ahai I suppose.

Maegor the Cruel deliberately casts aside the golden crown and wears one made of iron instead, to show his appetite for violence, because iron is ruled by Mars in alchemy, and Mars is the god of war; hence, it signifies violence.

It definitely seems like Visenya did some sort of dark magic to keep him from dying and it rendered him impotent. Kind of reverse alchemy.

Tyanna the alchemist is terrifying.

Jaehaerys riding a bronze dragon and Alysanne riding Silverwing, plus their eldest brother riding Quicksilver... kind of like an early version of what could have been the philosopher's stone, where the final three "elevated" metals are mercury/quicksilver, silver, and gold. But instead of gold, it's bronze, showing that we're nowhere near completion.

During the Dance of the Dragons: Sunfyre and Moondancer fight. Moondancer is green in color and tears parts of Sunfyre out. Reminds me of this classic alchemical image:

Of course, the sun and moon are also major symbols in alchemy. The sun is associated with the masculine; the moon, femininity. This seems relevant because, well, y'know, the entire Dance of the Dragons is founded on sexist principles. Okay, also on incompetence. But also sexism.

Moondancer is ridden by a woman (Baela). Sunfyre is ridden by Aegon (a man). The moon (woman) dies first, much like Rhaenyra. However, the sun (man) dies later of the injuries dealt to him by the moon/Baela, much like Aegon will die because of this war. The female rider, though, still very much a child in some ways, (Baela) lives a long, good life, and her legacy continues while the man's dies. Rhaenyra's line continues on, and she's the ancestor of so many of our characters in the main saga: Stannis, Robert, Renly, Arianne, Quentyn, Doran, Daenerys, f!Aegon, Jon, Varys most likely, and more.

For a fan kid request, can you do Dark Choco and Earl Grey?

Here you go, this is Dark Tea Cookie

So fun fact, she has been done for like, at least a month, if not more. The only thing that was stopping me from posting her was that I had no idea what to do for her sketches, but I didn’t want to just do nothing, since I always draw them for others, so she’s been stuck in this limbo for ages. But last night I finally came up with some ideas, and now I can show her

So she’s named after dark tea, which is different from black tea, due to it being fermented or something? I don’t really know. But dark tea is darker than black tea, and in the east, their names translate to “red tea” for black tea, and “black tea” for dark tea, since they’re named for the color of the tea themselves, not the leaves

I dunno, the whole situation is confusing. Just know that it’s because of the whole “Dark” prefix for Dark Choco’s family, and because Earl Grey is tea, and it’s not the same thing as black tea

Dark tea:

So to be honest, I don’t remember much of the design process. I made her hair black because of the tea, and I gave her the streaks because Dark Choco has them, but made them the same color as Earl Grey’s hair

I made her eyes blue because of the whole “I give too many Dark Choco kids red eyes” thing, but I ended up darkening the color because I thought Earl Grey’s eye color was just too light and didn’t look right. I think it looks fine now though

I do remember that I’m pretty sure the bottom of her dress was supposed to resemble a tea cup, since well, she’s made of tea

I think at one point I was planning on basing her design off of Alice from Alice in Wonderland (the original Disney movie one), but after looking at the designs again, it doesn’t seem I went for that route

But all in all, I think her design does look good. I liked drawing it in the sketches I did

Anyways, so let’s get into her as a character

So she lives at Earl Grey’s hotel (hence why her outfit more resembles something from him than Dark Choco)

I’ll admit, I don’t have much on her, or at least whatever I made up of her originally I didn’t write down. But she’s a shy young girl who just sort of lives in the hotel, probably trying to do some of the upkeep in the hotel, or at least as much as she can

But last night I thought, what if I leaned more into the Alice in Wonderland inspiration? And so, I’m considering that she has a story where she ends up in some sort of weird world (perhaps she accidentally gets transported into whatever weird chess dimension Chess Choco seem to have going on, at least in their Trial), and is sort of the normal girl in this place of madness

In the left sketch, she’s supposed to be trying to get the other people to act less…crazy, saying that’s probably not a good idea. My idea is that she’s got a set of morals on her, and she can’t stand injustice, but she’s usually a bit too timid to do anything about it. Maybe this other world is how she learns to be more assertive

Also, she will fight if she absolutely has to (though she’s incredibly nervous about it), though to everyone’s shock, she packs an incredible wallop in her punches. She might not be totally aware of this fact, so she’s just wildly swinging punches hoping she lands a hit, and when she looks she’s taken out an entire crowd or enemies

And honestly, I think that’s about it

*sigh* To be honest, I really feel like I could do better on her character section. The only person she has any notable connection to is Earl Grey, and all she seems to have from Dark Choco is looks and strength, but I have no clue what kind of relationship she has with him, if he’s even there. And that’s not to mention the Chess Choco twins, who would be there as older siblings

I don’t know, I feel like I could do so much more with the proposed family dynamic, especially since I originally put this one up because I was thinking about the potential of this ship. I was going to do it purely because I wanted to, and then someone happened to request it so it’s a win-win. But I feel disappointed that I haven’t tapped the potential of it. Which sucks because I really like her design, but I have no clue how to work her as a character into everyone else

Maybe I’ll do another shot at this ship sometime, but currently I’m just not sure what else to do

Please can you share your headcanons of Helaena and her relationships especially the one that she had with Aegon and her children

The fact the both of them are married and have children together but never shared one single interaction is one of the worst choices hbo has ever made and people want to convince you that they made Helaena better than her book counterpart lmao. Sorry but obsession with bugs is not even a personality to begin with

the fact HBO sucked out the dynamics from every single character was definitely... a choice

and yeah, I understand Helaena gets some ridiculous hate but pretending making her the way they did is somehow better than her book canon self is a deep delusion.

SO HELAENA HEADCANONS (I decided to make them a bit generic to cover more of her life, but if you want a solo only for Aegon x Helaena let me know)

1) Helaena isn't really pious. She follows the faith as any person but she doesn't really demonize other women the way her mother does

2) Similar to her brothers, she loves hearing tales of her Targaryen ancestors. She prefers the romance however and is something she bonds over with Rhaenyra - who is the best storyteller

3) Her older sister is someone she looks up to; as a child she dreams of being like to Rhaenyra when she grows older

4) Helaena has a small circle of lady friends but they've all been Hightower approved™ She doesn't mind this much, as long as there's no bad talking about other family members

5) She's the most patient of her siblings and lacks the temper the rest have. It takes a lot to piss her off - which is why it's shocking her she does snap

6) She gets along with her father just fine. He obviously loves Rhaenyra very much but he never makes her feel unwelcome or unfavored when she's with him. Her favorite past time is when he dines privately with her and Rhaenyra, calling them his sweet girls.

7) Aegon & Aemond are nasty as kids. It wasn't that bad before Aemond was born but having another boy around really clicked for her older brother. They mock her for not being pretty and always have a way to downplay everything she does. Alicent reprimands them if she hears it but she doesn't actually do anything to punish them. The only satisfaction she gets is when they try to do the same with Rhaenyra. Her older sister has a reply to everything and she always makes the boys flash with embarrassment

8) Helaena may not have the striking targaryen beauty (she's by no means ugly, just y'know, quite normal, a bit plain) but she has the prettiest voice when it comes to singing. And she knows how to play the harp. She performs to her father and sister a lot.

9) She loves her dragon and wishes she could fly with dreamfyre more but her mother has always been very discouraging of spending time with their dragons. The boys never listen to her but Helaena must be a proper lady so she tries to appease her. It doesn't make her miss dreamfyre any less though

10) She absolutely adores Daeron, and he's definitely her favorite of the boys. She visits him and Baby Jacaerys a lot

11) Helaena is devasted when Daeron is sent away, and it's one of the rare moments where she stands up for herself and argues with her mother. Viserys tries to comfort her by telling her she can always visit him and exchange letters

12) She does end up being the one to have the most familiarity with Daeron. She always sends the most letters to her siblings that are far away (daeron & rhaenyra) and for her nameday she gets her own raven

13) She seeks advice from her mother and her ladies when her marriage to Aegon comes closer. They give the usual unhelpful ones "Be good, have patience, obey your husband" bs, so predictably, she goes to Rhaenyra in tears, because Aemond has also added a bunch of doubts about what her older brother will do to her. Her older sister definitely isn't pleased to be awaken in the middle of the night, but she does humor her with some good advices ("don't let him do anything you don't want, try to be on top for the first time, don't be hesitant to push him, convince him to do what you want, sex shouldn't be painful, there's more than just producing children it's for pleasure too")

14) Her first night as a wife is... not bad. Aegon actually seems nervous for once, and they share a drink. She almost chokes with how nasty her brother's drink taste and he laughs. She confesses she doesn't want this to hurt and ask him to at least try to be gentle. The first time still hurts a bit (patience isn't her brother's virtue) but at least he did spend enough time to prepare her. In their second time she asks to be on top (which catches him off guard but allows it) and both end up enjoying it much better

15) As it's expected Aegon does ask her where she got these ideas from and Helaena is honest about who she asked. He doesn't say anything and she worries he might tell their mother but surprisingly that never happens

16) Marriage doesn't change her brother, or his tastes. She only requires him to not go after her ladies or servants. She knows better than to attempt to control any aspect of his life but out of sight, out of mind

17) While Aegon isn't the most gallant man, the past mockery does stop and he event fistfights with Aemond when he doesn't end his remarks. Helaena doubts he did it necessarily for her sake but she can't deny there's a... charm to it.

18) Another common ground she finds with her husband is the protectiveness they feel over their twins. Tongues can be cut from nobles but their family is a different matter. Alicent urges them to have another child. Otto is brutally honest about how Jaehaery's deformities andJaehaera's sex is against their cause. Aegon and Helaena become a shield for their twins and will fight anyone who make nasty comments about them. Their family learns to be more... delicate with expressing their opinions relating to the twins

19) Mothers aren't supposed to have a favorite child, she knows that. But Helaena can't help favoring Jaehaerys more. Her first born son is sweet, and needy and never wants to leave her side. Jaehaera is so much less expressive and while she tries to work with her it can be hard. Maelor has an adventurous spirit and loves exploring. He's good for Jaehaera who he forces out of her shell, but Jaehaerys remains constant. He's her most beloved though she'd never say it aloud.

20) After b&c Helaena gets lost into her head. She's too ashamed to look at Maelor, too hearbroken to face Jaehaera. In the dark, she seeks to find someone to blame; Rhaenyra for not giving up her throne, Aegon for thirsting for blood, Aemond for starting this when he murdered their child nephew. She wants to blame her mother who fed and nurtured this hatred between her siblings wants to blame her grandfather whose ambition and greed were always a priority, but in the end she only blames herself. For not finding a way to prevent this; the war, her son's death. All the loss and pain. She can't live with herself. When King's Landing falls to Rhaenyra and she's taken captive Helaena won't bear to see any of her children or siblings die. She ends her life so she won't have to witness any further the horror that has befallen on their house

Listen. I'm in a Jaenna (fem!Aemond) mood so! Y'all are getting what I think she'd be like. And yes I am using a gif of Aemond because I genuinely don't think Jaenna would look much different

A= Aftercare (what they’re like after the act)

At first, she's not great imho. Like. Jaenna is slightly better than her male counterpart but not by much? She'll make sure her partner has water and is feeling okay, but that's about it. As time goes on, she does get much better about it

B= Body part (favorite body part their own or their lovers)

C= Cum (anything that has to do with it)

Her hands. She knows her hands drive women wild, especially since she's super dexterous with her fingers from years of knife twirling

I'm curious to hear your thoughts about Jaehaerys and Jaehaera on the show; do you have any hopes or wishes for how you want them portrayed?

A few of my own hopes includes Jaehaera looking like Aegon and by extension Alicent, and Jaehaerys maybe looking like Helaena. I also love the idea of Alicent being a really good grandmother to them! I feel like because Helaena was so young when she had them, she's far from the ideal mother because she's just a child as well, so Alicent has helped her shoulder a lot of the burden and is pretty good at it, since she's an adult now with experience at childrearing. Alicent needs to beat the bad parent allegations and also it adds another level of familial fuckery to have this absurdly young grandmother having to act as these babies' actual mother.

I can imagine Jaehaerys being a sweet, cheerful kid while Jaehaera is labeled as the Problem Child, not because she's bad but because she's autistic and everyone around her has trouble accommodating for her. Maybe she's unreceptive to/prone to outbursts when people try to adjust her to be more "normal" and Alicent often just tells everyone to just let Jaehaera do what she wants because she doesn't want her to be upset. But the twins are very very close, Jaehaerys is the only one who can make his sister smile and Jaehaera will always go to bat for her little bro when he wants something (I also really like the idea of Jaehaera actually being the older of the two - and then being the only one of her siblings left at the end. Aegon and Helaena's first child, and their last)

I want Aegon II and Jaehaera to interact after the war and for Egg to become an absolutely unhinged girldad. His last child! One of his only remaining family! The last remnant of his sister-wife! His sweet baby girl! The war has changed him drastically for better and for worse, he's absolutely ruthless but he does it out of love for his family, and he even plans on making her his heir (gives him even more juicy parallels with Viserys I). But then he dies and everyone else crowns Aegon III instead because 1) he's Rhaenyra's son and 2) he's male, and she's prompted married off to play consort to the son of her brother's murderer, of who's mother was murdered by her father.

This specific one is very out-there but I also think it would be HILARIOUS if during Jaehaera's trip to the Stormlands the White Hart decides to appear to her, just to fuck with everyone. It's probably not going to happen but it would be funny

Anyways that's my wishlist for Jaehaerys and Jaehaera (but mostly Jaehaera tbh) in the show. No idea if any of this will happen, but i like to be hopeful!

Jaehaerys, Jaehaera and Maelor are very young and tragedy will strike them sooner rather than later, so I'm not sure if they can squeeze in much personality other than "cute, sweet children". I have an entire tag for Jaehaera when I complain about her depiction.

That being said, I love your headcanons! Alicent acting as mother to everyone, including her own grandchildren, is something I also suggested previously, especially within the collapsing boundaries of the greens' family dynamics and Alicent's framing as The Queen and The Mother.

Same with unhinged girldad Aegon - it's part of my ideal depiction of Aegon if I ever got any say when it comes to adapting FB to screen. I love this idea of our Aegon being staunchly against his little girl marrying Aegon III and wanting her to be the queen in accordance with Andal Law. White hart rights for Jaehaera all the way!

There is a little tidbit in FB which I find hilarious (after Eggon dies):

She (Alicent) was too apt to rain down curses on the king, or snatch a dagger from some unwary guardsman. Alicent could not even be trusted in the company of the little queen; when last allowed to share a meal with Her Grace, she had told Jaehaera to cut her husband’s throat whilst he was sleeping, which set the child to screaming.

I want to know your opinion about the show version of Aegon, what do you think about it, do like their interpretation of his character? ( with exception of ramsay's stuff they added to his character)

Given by the fact you've read the book what things you want to change about Aegon and things you want to stay the same. I mean I'm curious how you would write aegon if you have given the chance to do so, just going by the vague description of his book character

Hey anon!

Fortunately for you, I have discussed Aegon a lot (because people ask me about him A Lot), so I'll link the posts below, but the long and short of it is that, excluding the "ramsay stuff" as you said, there's a lot that's going on with Aegon that I quite like, I just wish it was intentional writing rather than some subtext, TGC's acting choices, and interpretation.

So with that in mind, by and large I'd keep Aegon the same as we're seeing him thus far, just exclude the stupid bad writing stuff and make it clear that the stuff I do like about him is authorial intent, not just us overanalyzing stuff. I've touched a bit on stuff I'd change and keep if I were writing Aegon here but in how I'd write him if I were in charge, I'd add in a lot more of him being incredibly family oriented.

The book, like with everything it is, is kinda vague about it, but I do think it's important that Aegon be shown, despite his failings and his waywardness and his alcoholism and all his issues (and he does need to have issues, this show would be incredibly boring if it actually was cookie cutter good side vs bad side), to have a deep and unabiding love of family that overrides everything. One of the versions of how Aegon was convinced to accept the crown has it that he really started to get on board with it once it was pointed out to him that his kids would be in serious danger if Rhaenyra and Daemon were ruling, which is remarkably prescient considering Certain Things That Happen Later. It also needs to show up in his relationship with his siblings too (and honestly we just needed so much more of Aegon and Helaena's dynamic I would have loved to see the messy contradiction that comes from a pretty solid older brother/younger sister relationship contrasted with a dysfunctional marriage and what it does for Aegon's character that he physically can't love her That Way but he still loves her cuz they're family), the core actualization of that Alicent line about cuffing each other as they wish at home but defending each other in the world. It's why I love the dinner scene in episode 8 so much, Aemond decides to be petty at people who hurt him and Aegon is 100% on board to the point of committing physical violence against Luke even just for getting involved.

Most things about his book storyline I'd keep the same (I especially love his time on Dragonstone and eventual takeover, if only for the Sunfyre bond), but I'd definitely flesh out more stuff about his thought process, his feelings, how he as a character reacts to certain things. All in all, I don't think I'd write him much different than how he is now (stupid bad writing aside) I'd just be making a better, upgraded model.

Okay I was thinking about how the other charathers that Arent the great Seven would react to the NRC students in the house of mouse AU. Like i can Imagine Azul asking Ariel if She wants ti make a deal with him and Ariel Is like "lol no", or the First year see Cruella de vil at One of the tables and they are like "She look so much like Crewel that She's giving us PTSD" or kalim and Aladdin becoming buddies :D.

Well, let me put in some headcannons then:

Word goes around that some of the Great Disney villains come to visit Yuu and everyone gets jealous.

So now whenever Yuu goes to work they always get asked to have them visit their world.

So, Yuu just says, “Meh ok, you guys can visit me whenever just ask one of the Great Seven or go through the mirror in my dressing room-“

And suddenly Yuu gets someone they met from the House of Mouse ever other day. It’s literal chaos and Yuu doesn’t know if they should feel exasperated or flattered.

Anyways, here’s some interactions between the dorms and some Disney Characters:

Heartslybul: Obviously when Alice comes to visit, she comments on how Heartslybul reminds her of the Queen of Hearts’ garden. When Yuu mentions that they paint the roses red, Alice sarcastically asks, “Does the dorm leader behead people who don’t paint the roses?” “...Well, he’s more lenient now but...” “...You’re serious?”

Ace and Alice get along swimmingly, basically quick quips and a lot of teasing. Yuu regrets introducing them to each other because they know the two are going to get into some sort of trouble. Deuce also gets along with Alice, though he can get lost in Alice’s rambles in imagination.

I think Alice would get along with Trey and Cater. I mean, they both give big brother vibes (Trey more than Cater). Trey would give Alice some tarts and Alice is like, “....He’s cool.”

Cater is going to take a bunch of pictures, and Alice is very curious about the device he’s holding (I don’t think phones or the internet existed during Alice’s time so...). Cater ends up teaching Alice about the internet and phones.

Riddle...ohhh noo. Once Alice broke one of the 810 rules and Riddle lightly scolded her for it. Alice thinks most of the rules are ridiculous and while Riddle has toned down on being strict, he’ll quickly get annoyed with Alice questioning the rules. There’s rules for a reason! The dorm was founded on these rules!!

Savannaclaw: It’s Simba, obviously. He’s curious to see the dorm after his...nefarious uncle. It’s much more nicer than he expected, though he’s a little off put by the dorm’s...rowdiness.

But he’s impressed with the Magishift practices they have when Yuu showed them.

He likes Jack, right off the bat. Jack has this sense of justice that he can relate to. I think they would get along pretty well. Oh, and probably how strong and buff Jack is.

Simba is wary of Ruggie, due to him being a hyena beastmen. He has...bad memories of hyenas. His wariness is correct, since Ruggie has tried to swindle Simba and Yuu to do some of his work. Does the relationship get better? Only if Yuu makes them hang out with each other haha.

Leona reminds Simba of Scar...to a certain degree. Lazy, cunning, and has this look where it seems like he could be planning something nefarious...

Ok, maybe not that bad, but Simba is weary of Leona. He kind of expected a character similar to Scar since this is the dorm based on him but...still. It’s really odd. It’s kind of rocky, but if Cheka comes over to visit, well...it could get better.

I mean, Leona does find Cheka annoying and calls him a brat but...Simba can tell there’s no malicious desire towards Cheka, which raises Leona’s “evil people don’t interact” list. That doesn’t mean Leona’s in the clear, but he’s ok.

Octavinelle: Surprise, surprise, it’s Ariel! She comes over, human legs and all. (Don’t worry! She got them from the nicer sorcerers). She wanted to visit Yuu and see how great NRC was! They had fun, and then they went to Mostro Lounge.

Ariel is terrified of the Tweels. They give her this...off putting feeling and they’re very intimidating. She does not trust them at all. She does like how they get up close and how they speak as if she’s some poor soul waiting to be taken advantage over.

That’s also why she does not trust Azul at all. He reminds Ariel of Ursula - especially when he tries making a contract with her. Uh-uh, no way. Never again.

This leads to Ariel dubbing NRC a dangerous place for Yuu to stay at. Why doesn’t Yuu come live with her and her family back at her world? Surely it’s much more safer than here! Why, Melody already sees Yuu as a big sibling so why not just stay at the castle permanently?

Ursula fumes at the thought of her enemy trying to take Yuu away and become their parent. That’s her role, dammit!

Scarabia: Kalim invites Aladdin, actually. It’s the most funniest scenario. Yuu mentioned to Kalim about the street rat that wooed the princess and Kalim says, “:00 WE SHOULD INVITE HIM!!” Jamil sighs and facepalms.

It’s actually going great! Aladdin is kind of shocked at the big party that Kalim threw, but it was a great welcome. He’s shook that Kalim apparently trusted Aladdin enough to show him the treasury room. “It’s open for all of the dorm to use! I don’t need much of it!”

Wasn’t NRC rumored to be a villain’s school??? What is this ball of sunshine doing here???

Actually, the Scarabia duo are good in his eyes. Sure, a little rough around the edges with Kalim being a bit too naive and Jamil being more of a watching snake, but they’re better than what he expected. Aladdin gets along with them pretty well!

And then they go on a carpet ride when Kalim introduces Aladdin to his magic flying carpet.

Yuu and Jamil scream at the two of them to get down as they fly across the night sky.

Pomfiore: oh no. Oh no no no. Snow White visiting Pomfiore is like...Neige visiting.

Vil is cold to Snow White, and she knows why. She’s seen the images that Yuu had of this “Neige Leblanc”. He certainly reminds her of her younger days. Which is why she completely understands why Vil is so standoffish of her.

What she doesn’t expect is Rook singing her praises and also kind of...watching her. It’s low key creepy but Yuu says it’s normal and since he doesn’t mean any harm Snow White lets it slide. They do have a good conversation though. Snow White learns to understand Rook’s...eccentric hobbies.

Epel and Snow White go together like apples and oranges. They go pretty well together, but they have contrasting differences. They could be passed of as siblings with their cute looks, as much as Epel hates to admit it. Though I’d like to think they have this “Soft big sister with a gremlin of a little brother” dynamic. Or “Big sister that is harmless but has a badass little bother” dynamic. Just...a cool sibling dynamic, basically.

Ignihyde: Hercules comes by when he hears that a dorm was based off of Hades. He had to see what it was like. He expected the doom and gloom, but he didn’t expect all the technology.

He and Ortho go along swimmingly. I mean, he’s pretty chill around the more upbeat and cheery dorm member, at least. (Seriously, the others were such buzzkills). He also gets a good impression on Idia when Ortho affectionately talks about his big brother! Wow, so the kids here do have a heart! Unlike Hades-

Ok, so as much as Ortho talks so highly of Idia, Hercules does not see how Ortho does. I mean, Idia is a complete shut in and gloomy recluse! Why do you stick around him?! It isn’t until he speaks his mind about that comment does Ortho turn into a crazy murder machine. (“How DARE you speak of that about my brother!!”) Yuu has to save Hercules and the entire dorm before Ortho blows up the school.

So now Hercules sees how inseparable the two are and how much they care for each other, which yeah, that’s pretty cool. (Is also low key jealous, how come his half brothers weren’t like that?)

Diasomnia: Aurora visits with Maleficent. Both do not share ill will after their stories are completed. They actually do make amends. So Maleficent invited Aurora to see her grandson, and Aurora politely accepts.

They have tea with Malleus, and it is a very pleasant conversation. Aurora gets along well with Malleus, even suggesting maybe she should invite him and Maleficent to her kingdom one day. (Maybe when she gives birth to a beautiful baby. Maleficent liked that)

Lilia is also a fun one to be around! Aurora was so surprised by his scare that she had laughed. Ah, what a funny fae! Why, she hadn’t laughed this hard since...well, never. She likes Lilia and will come by if she needs a good laugh.

Poor Sebek though....he acts all uptight around Aurora because she’s a Queen and also aquatinted with Maleficent...he must be respectful to her at all costs! It takes a long time for Sebek to at least act a little casual around her. Maleficent says it’ll take some time, though Aurora isn’t sure if that time will come on her lifetime...but for the meantime, she is still happy to be around Sebek’s presence and have pleasant conversations with him.

Aurora and Silver...ok, let me say this: they got along during a sleepover. The Diasomnia gang + Maleficent and Aurora had a sleepover in the dorms to “better know each other”. I also think Aurora would feel sympathy for Silver if the conversation of him tending to fall asleep came up. Heavens knows she still has her sleepy spells even after her curse was broken.

Also- wofhenod I just imagine Aurora and Silver walking in the forest together and a bunch of animals surround them. (Yuu finds them and cries when they actually attracted a bunch of adorable puppies (or whatever animal you find cute). Cute, adorable animals that are so gentle with them that they start to cry due to stress from being at NRC (Silver and Aurora look at Yuu with concern and gently start comforting them)

Winfendien Suddenly I want a twin dynamic with Silver and Aurora. Even a sibling dynamic would be cool. Just two sleepy siblings that won’t hesitate to kick your ass.

That Was Pretty Wholesome (2.3 Update Spoilers)...

This whole event was pretty nice and was genuinely fun in my opinion. I really liked the Albedo content and that there had actually been three "Albedo"s. It really was an interesting plot device.

The friendship moments between Albedo, Bennett, Amber, and Eula (as well as the Traveler and Paimon) were incredibly sappy and had me grinning like a fool. Albedo's smile and his being happy with all of us visiting nearly sent me. I really like the idea of them being a friend group and Albedo being able to be friends with people "in his age range."

Joel calling Eula aunty and her friendship with Amber really brought out her soft side during this event and it was really nice to see. I also really liked how everyone was so nice to Bennett and was so quick to reassure him when he started blaming himself for everything going on. I also felt my heart beat into overdrive when the avalanche happened even though I was anticipating it the entire event. The cutscene for the fight with the third Albedo was amazing too.

The whopperflower boss fight was awesome if a bit of a pain in the neck. The cutscene was amazing, especially when Albedo stabbed it. Luckily, co-oping with other random players was plenty of fun and I was able to get all of the rewards in only about an hour or two.

Now all I have left to do is grind ascension materials for Itto and Gorou until Act III comes out. I was surprised he empathized with him and I want to see what will happen between the first Albedo and our Albedo - if anything will happen at all. When he pulled out that sword, was he going to attack the first Albedo? Or was that before he went after the Whopperflower!Albedo?

Poor Albedo has a really messed up family dynamic before he came to live in Mondstadt. His mother was horrible, one brother ate the other before he was corrupted and died alone on a mountain, the brother that was swallowed survived and took his youngest brother's form before corrupting a whopperflower in a plot to kill him and his friend so that he can take their place, and Albedo himself is the youngest sibling who is the one who has to deal with the fallout because his mother ran to coop and disappeared.

Thank goodness he has Klee and Alice (even if Alice is a little messed up in the head too).

hi, since I watched the movies and read the books I wonder about the dynamic between Alec and Jane, i would like to know your opinion about them and their relationship, the question surges because I have searched fanfics about them but the mayority of them are about a sexual relation between the twins, thing that I found creepy.

From my perspective they're utterly devoted to each other, but they are siblings, and also like 12, so nothing sexual/romantic between them. There's enough questionable content in the books that you don't need to read something like actual sibling incest into it, especially when they are literal children and frozen that way. And I don't really see anything in canon that suggests it. I mean if we're being honest it's the Cullen/Hale siblings that have were incest-y things going on.

(As an aside, this is why I don't understand people who want to count Bella as "one of Esme/Carlisle's" children. Beloved daughter-in-law? Great! Like a daughter? Lovely! Actually saying 'we have six children?' Whyyyy. It's already weird that Em/Rose and Alice/Jasper [although I'm not personally totally sold on Jasper] are MARRIED while considering the same couple to be their parents. Bella married in! These people are in-laws that she loves like family! That's normal! You don't have to make it weird! Charlie and Renee [and Phil!] are still alive! Maybe in 100 years it would make sense for her to see C/Es as her parents but doing it now just makes her marriage to Edward as weird as the other couples when it doesn't have to be!)

But I've definitely seen that in the fandom, too. I've also seen people trying to thread a needle of their bond is being LIKE mates but without the sexual/romantic component, kind of like how imprinting can theoretically be platonic, it's just this one person who is your center of gravity, and they sort of apply this to Jane and Alec in a sibling sense. It's the intensity and devotion of a mate bond but it's a sibling bond instead. But that's a fine line to tread there before it does get creepy.

For me, I think they are devoted to each other probably equally, but Jane is more devoted to Aro/The Volturi than Alec is. I see her as more intense, more driven, more mature (in as much as a 12-year-old brain can be mature) and Alec is the more laidback and chill. He wants Jane's approval more than he wants Aro's, whereas for Jane being in Aro's favorite is Super Important. She wants to be the Teacher's Pet, basically, but since she's not in a school setting this is the closest thing. It's that same sort of drive. Alec's more friendly with the other guards than Jane is, because he doesn't have the same sense of competition with them for Aro's favor that she does. But if Jane is like "we're not talking to Felix today," Alec would like shrug his shoulders and be like, "okay," and roll with it. She's the leader of the two if they have one.

I also don't think they are inherently evil. Their powers, as humans, seemed pretty neutral: bad things would happen to people who were mean to them, but GOOD things happened to people who were kind to them, and it didn't seem like they had conscious control over this, either, it just kind of . . . happened. Their experience in the flames shaped their gifts, with Jane wanting to inflict the pain she was feeling on those who had hurt her, and Alec just wanting to numb himself to it. They've been influence by their time with the Volturi, but they might have turned out differently is they had been turned/raised by another coven.

Ok you know how whenever Alice is infected by something (apotheosis/watcher world) she's good with a gun? Well picture this: She's watching Hannah and Tim for a bit, because Lex, Ethan, and Tom are all busy and Grace is busy as well (and Alice wants to prove herself to be the better babysitter anyways, GRACE CHASTITY 😠😠😠) and it's summer and so they just. Water guns. That's the whole post. Alice is babysitting Hannah and Tim and they're running around outside with water guns for funsies and Alice has perfect aim because of course she does and it's just wholesome and cute.

Later on, Tim tells Alice that she's an even better babysitter than Grace and she is Proud™ (and pretty smug about it).

Omg wait and Alice playing games with Tim at Pizza Pete's especially that one zombie game-

I just think Alice and Tim would have a very cute sibling-like dynamic

about Rule One, do youuuuu perhaps have any thoughts on how close everyone in the cullen family would be with sadie once she joins them? and also what activities they'd like to do most with her?? ^_^

Most obviously, Alice and Jasper would be ecstatic to have her around, and they would have to get comfortable with sharing her with the rest of the family; knowing that Sadie is talking to someone else in another room would take some getting used to, and they'd both have to overcome their clinginess.

Nessie already adores her, and that would only continue once she finishes Lord of the Rings and continues looking to Sadie for fantasy/sci-fi recommendations. Sadie would become her window into both the highly-respected works, like those of Isaac Asimov and Ursula K Le Guin and Octavia Butler, and the less respected. (Not listing those, because it feels mean.) Sadie would casually mention Doctor Who and Nessie would just have to watch it, and Nessie quickly becomes a huge fan. (Basically, Nessie inherited her mother's nerdiness but not her genre preference.)

Just as a symptom of existing in the same house as Nessie and Sadie, the rest of the family gets into various shows, movies, and books to various degrees. Edward secretly reads everything Nessie is about to read, just to make sure there's nothing inappropriate in any of it, and gets surprisingly into the Tolkienverse and the Legacy of Orïsha series. Emmett watches Doctor Who with Sadie and Nessie and starts referencing it kind of a lot. Jacob already likes Star Wars and both Avatars; Rosalie finds that she likes Star Trek. (Rosalie knows at least a little about all of it, though, because Nessie will ask for hair styles she's seen in various shows and movies or imagined from book descriptions, so she'll show them to Rosalie with her power.) Jasper enjoys the works of Octavia Butler, and he and Sadie have a few sober conversations about Kindred. Bella remains staunchly loyal to the classics, but she does find she enjoys the Inkheart series, when Nessie asks her to read them to her at bedtime. This all culminates in the Cullens going to various fan conventions ("for Nessie"), some of them in costume. (One time, Sadie dressed as Uhura and Rosalie dressed as Seven of Nine. Nessie dressed as Elva, from Eragon, as she preferred to dress for high fantasy settings. Another time, Rosalie and Emmett were Thirteen and "Sexy Eleventh Doctor". Alice insists that they can't repeat costumes, so things grow progressively more imaginative and Esme for sure dresses as the TARDIS at some point.)

Like I mentioned in the other posts, various family members would designate Sadie as their conflict moderator, so Edward and Rosalie might run up to her, both ranting at the same time about something the other did, and she would, slightly amused, unwind their conflict and analyze why they're feeling the way they are and get a sense of what behaviors could be changed. At a point, she'd have done this so often that she would designate specific "office hours", outside of which they can't bombard her with their disagreement unless it's an emergency. (Jasper does something to annoy Emmett, and Emmett goes, "I'm gonna tell Sadie!" and Jasper smirks like, "It's 8:31.") There is honestly still a fair amount of "Sadie, I know it's outside of your office hours, but...", and a lot of times she'll still listen and offer advice, but sometimes she'll say, "Not right now. I want to finish what I'm doing. Come back a bit later."

Sadie's well-maintained moral code tends to keep her out of trouble, but her curiosity and Emmett's eagerness to just Do Stuff means they can really just go nuts, if left alone together. Sadie might wonder, "Can vampires do this?" or "What happens if a vampire does this?" and Emmett will go from zero to "Let's find out" in a millisecond. (He does not follow the scientific method, so Sadie has separate journals labeled "Shenanigans" to account for their time together.)

Carlisle and Esme immediately and not entirely consciously dub Sadie the good one, often telling the other kids to follow her example. If she does get into mischief with her new siblings, Carlisle and Esme have been known to completely ignore her role in the mischief and only chastise the others. Sadie might say something like, "It wasn't just Emmett; I was involved, too," but at that point Carlisle or Esme would point out that Sadie is taking responsibility for her actions and the other should learn to do that, as well. No one holds it against Sadie; it becomes both a joke and a known fact that she gets away with pretty much everything just by virtue of being a super decent person.

Bella and Sadie are pretty much comfortable with just existing parallel to each other; they might read different books in the same room in silence and consider it quality time. Or they might talk about their human lives and shared experiences from having grown up at around the same time. Sadie finds Bella fascinating and enjoys studying her seemingly-contradictory personality traits. Everyone is contradictory to some degree, but Bella seems especially hard to figure out.

This is getting long, so I'm going to stop here, lol. Hopefully more of the relationship dynamics between Sadie and the Cullens will be clear in Rule One, but if not, you can always send another ask! 😁

So far what do you think on the relationship between Vanitas & Misha compared to Gil & Vincent

Not especially comparable aside from the general deuteragonist elder brother/supporting antagonist younger brother dynamic. The way Mochizuki writes sibling relationships when they’re biological (as in Vincent and Gil’s case) vs when they’re through adoption/choice (as in Vanitas and Misha’s case) is very different. Nearly every example of a sibling relationship without a biological component (Oz and Alice, Oz and Ada, Sharon and Break, Jeanne and Chloé, etc.) have been far more healthy and warm than relationships that are based on blood relation (Vincent and Gil, Lacie and Oswald, Domi and her siblings). There are exceptions, of course (Noise and Vincent have a sibling relationship with no blood relation, and their interactions are for much of the story built around making each other as miserable as possible) but Mochizuki’s stories, in line with the general theme that one’s birth does not make you who you are, tend to portray familial relationships formed by choice rather than by birth as more healthy. In fact, Vincent and Gil are the only biological sibling pairing to appear in Pandora Hearts that are not directly or indirectly responsible for each other’s deaths.

That said, Mochizuki’s stories tend to prioritize sibling relationships as the most important form of love. I know that’s a bit controversial, but considering that Mochizuki is the youngest of four, has specifically attributed her choice to become a mangaka to her older sister, frequently thanks her older siblings (especially her eldest brother and his wife) in her afterwords, and has at several points made self deprecating remarks regarding her lack of marriage/romance... it’s not surprising that her stories would favor relationships between siblings, even though romance is a prominent element. Pandora Hearts is primarily driven by sibling relationships- it’s the point in establishing that the Child of Ill Omen is most frequently the younger sibling of Glen while establishing these are the two most influential forces in the progression of the narrative. It’s why Oz and Alice ultimately had a sibling relationship instead of a romance, because the narrative as a whole considers sibling love to be more powerful than romance. So far the biggest acts of love in Vanitas have been Jeanne’s attempts to save Chloé, who she regarded as an elder sister, and Vanitas’s childhood attempts to save Misha, who he regarded as a younger brother.

My reason in comparing Vincent and Gil’s relationship to Vanitas and Misha’s despite not really seeing them as all that similar is because Vincent and Gil’s relationship fucking sucks. Exactly how unhealthy their relationship was (and it was deeply, deeply unhealthy) is something I’d have to explain over SEVERAL posts, but they are deliberately set up as the sibling relationship most likely to fail. Like I said before, every single biological sibling pair in PH ended with one sibling directly or indirectly killing the other with Vincent and Gil as the sole exception. They in particular are astounding because the nature of he Glen/Ill Omened dynamic is to set up a power structure that inevitably results in the elder sibling killing the younger. Gil’s narration directly admits to using Vincent, to making him into a scapegoat for Gil’s own bad behavior, he ends up telling Vincent directly he doesn’t care at all what Vincent does so long as it doesn’t affect Gil, and Vincent wants to be treated that way, because being treated terribly by Gil is conducive to the circumstances necessary for Vincent’s suicide.

Compared to that? Vanitas and Misha have it pretty good, actually. Throughout the story Vanitas has been characterized as invariably selfish-- even when he does give things to others, it’s to establish power over them or further his own goals. This is because of Vanitas’s own inability to accept kindness, but it’s what he does nonetheless. Though he’s incredibly self destructive and masochistic, Vanitas is not in any way selfless or kind. That he do what he did for Misha in Mémoire 48 is major, because Vanitas, clearly terrified, sacrifices his own well being for Misha’s sake in a way that would have no benefit to him aside from being spared the sight of Misha’s suffering. Vanitas loved Misha very, very deeply and it’s clear he still does in the immense guilt he has surrounding him as an adult. Similarly, Misha wants Vanitas’s affection, takes genuine pleasure in his presence and approval. He identifies Vanitas as something warm and deliberately seeks him out just because he feels safe around him.

Vincent and Gil never had that. There wasn’t ever any warmth between them. What they had was out of necessity, as neither had anywhere else to go. In Retrace LXXXIX Gil says that as a child he had hated Vincent so much it made him want to die, and in the way Vincent narrates their early childhood and his subsequent obsession with controlling Gil’s feelings it’s obvious he had understood this. It’s a major problem I have with a lot of people’s depictions of their relationship, actually- Vincent didn’t want what he wanted because he felt he had lost Gil’s affection. Vincent wanted what he wanted because he didn’t believe Gil had ever loved him to begin with. The problems didn’t start with Sablier, they just reached a boiling point there. Vincent understood himself as something that Gil used, and believed the problem was not a wrong turn in their relationship but that Vincent had been born at all.

So, yeah, in short: if Gil and Vincent, who had absolutely nothing going for them at any point in the story and everything going against them, were able to make up... then Vanitas and Misha, who clearly did really love each other and want for each other’s presence, will definitely be able to do the same.

If DOD was a novel like the main books of asoiaf what kind of dynamic would you give to Aegon and Rhaenyra, before and during the war. Also how would write their characters in pov type i am curious

oh I'd give a kidney to have DOD in a asoiaf style 🥺 imagine all the multi povs.... that's the dream

well, for starters the relationship would have been freshed out. I don't think we'd jump away from the childhood years too fast but Aegon & Rhaenyra also wouldn't be the focus. Neither would get a pov until they were older.

We would be able to see child Aegon through povs that belong to the hightowers; like Alicent, Otto, Gwayne etc and with Rhaenyra we could see her through he pov of Viserys, Daemon, Alicent and most likely Criston's

i think it's pov would affect how the dynamic would be portrayed. For instance Criston's pov would be very rose tinted when it came to Rhaenyra (considering this would be way before his fixation turned sexual) i imagine his eyes and Viserys would be the only time we could come near to see the "positive" aspect of little Rhaenyra with baby Aegon.

Now how would the dynamic between little Rhaenyra and baby Aegon be? Honestly anon, I think they probably started out good. Rhaenyra wouldn't have too much interest in a infant but as he started to grow up maybe she'd pay attention. I don't imagine her to be jealous given she's still the apple to her father's eye.

Rhaenyra grew up knowing one day she'd have a sibling. She was even accepting of her father's new marriage before something happened between her and Alicent. Now that "something" (which we never got to know what it was) would definitely still affect them.

So, young Rhaenyra + Aegon would be encouraged (especially by Viserys and maybe otto for his political agenda) to spend time together but outsider elements, like Daemon (who knows Rhaneyra's value), Criston (who is very possessive over his princess), Alicent (who tries to establish her son as heir) would prove to be obstacles. I think they'd have some nice moments but considering we're talking about this story being asoiaf-style you'd definitely get the angst and miscommunication. I think we as readers would probably feel more about the lost childhood Rhaenyra and Aegon (and the rest of the other siblings that followed) could have had.

As older them, things would naturally get darker, we'd have Criston's creepy one sided fixation becoming sexual, we'd have daemon who on the one hand is Rhaenyras' biggest supporter on the other he definitely has his own agenda, we'd have Rhaenyra herself who would have to deal with an even more vicious Alicent and her ladies at court, we'd have Aegon's self identity crises over that fact that despite being a firstborn son his older sister remains a heir, the jealousy he must feel over both of his parents being fixated on his sister for different reasons, his self discovery of the power he wields over people who are in a lower position... safe to say things would get bad pretty soon.

But to fully answer your question, I think childhood years would be the time we'd get some fragility of closeness, as they became older we'd see some resentment blooming, and full hate comes during the war. Both Rhaneyra and Aegon are proud and testy; we know for Rhaenyra her loss and grief made her paranoid and distrustful. I think her hate would be more generalized to every single green rather than just Aegon though. While Aegon's would be more centered on Rhaenyra because y'know it's essentially her fault [insert misogynistic propaganda] that she didn't roll over and accepted being unsupered
