Hey trans Florida folks - things suck, but I want to make sure y'all have more info so you can better gauge the urgency and expected risk for a new bill.

This is another long post, but please read because a lot of folks are in a huge panic at some misleading info.

You've probably seen this by now:

This is misleading. Be incredibly concerned at the path we're on because it is bad, even plan to leave the state (I am), but drag isn't punishable by the death penalty:

Misleading. SB 1438 censors drag in front of minors w/vague, subjective language and threatens misdemeanors, fines, and license revocation for violations. This is meant to scare businesses, and even cities. We are already seeing Pride parades canceled in Florida in response:

Too broad. Sexual battery against a child is being made into a capital felony (aka, punishable by death) in the currently proposed SB1342 .

The bill says:

"A person 18 years of age or older who commits sexual battery upon, or in an attempt to commit sexual battery injures the sexual organs of, a person less than 12 years of age commits a capital felony".

If we want a definition of "sexual battery" itself, we can jump to Florida statues at:

"Sexual battery” means oral, anal, or female genital penetration by, or union with, the sexual organ of another or the anal or female genital penetration of another by any other object; however, sexual battery does not include an act done for a bona fide medical purpose."

Also of note in this statute:

"Serious personal injury” means great bodily harm or pain, permanent disability, or permanent disfigurement."

I am not a lawyer, but to me, this looks like less of an attack against trans people for existing (via conflation with anti-drag bills), and more a way to target those providing gender affirming care -- healthcare providers or even a child's affirming guardians.

Many states are already trying to set up "aiding and abetting" laws (from the anti-abortion playbook) to punish anyone offering any kind of gender affirming care (from general therapy to vocal coaching) to a trans kid.

Florida might be hoping someone applies the "injures the sexual organs of" component of SB1342 to gender-affirming puberty blockers. Yeah, it's a stretch, but I would not be surprised to see someone try it.

Because we are already seeing the HHS committee consider sending subpoenas to gender-affirming clinics:

"House Speaker Paul Renner said he wants the House to examine how the organizations adopted their recommendations. He questioned whether the guidelines were the result of scientific analysis or whether “the integrity of the medical profession has been compromised by a radical gender ideology that stands to cause permanent physical and mental harm to children and adolescents.”

Emphasis mine. Again, I am not a lawyer, but I would not be surprised to see someone try to hold a gender-affirming clinic accountable for "sexual battery" against a child.

All these separate actions paint a grim picture.

Yes, true. This one is scary all on its own because it makes it that much easier for the DeSantis administration to target political enemies.

Back to making child sexual battery a capital felony & SB1342:

Could we eventually see bills proposed that further broaden - via deliberately vague language or otherwise -what kind of "sex crimes" are punishable by death, thus fully targeting trans people?

For sure, we will absolutely see fascists try to get away with whatever they can and I hope we see more resistance against what is happening now to prevent the escalation towards genocide.

But this specific bill isn't targeting drag and it's important we understand the current threat landscape so we can plan accordingly.

Like. I'm still working on my own plan to flee Florida asap (I am a trans man) but I don't feel at risk of the death penalty just yet, so my "leave asap" is "sell the house in a month" instead of "grab the bugout bag and get in the car NOW".

It is very, very important to understand the threats we face so we don't make rash decisions that could have permanent consequences for already vulnerable people. We need to plan and act on plans with haste, but afford ourselves every opportunity to make decisions with as much accurate information as possible.

What's the status of SB1342?

As I type this, still with the senate, but check for updates at the link below. If passed, it would enact October 1, 2023.

In closing

Again, be careful, be safe, be informed. I am not a legal expert; I'm just a little guy, but the risk landscape has enough threats trans people need to respond to without us thinking drag is currently eligible for the death penalty.

Every trans person in the United States, not just Florida, should be watching what is going on across the country and noting how all these bills connect and escalate. And what could become blueprints at the federal level.

Keep hope, but plan for contingencies that could threaten your job, your housing, your liberty, and possibly even your life. Watch the news, watch your local bills, and do your best at figuring out when you need to break that emergency glass.

My biggest advice to be better informed is to learn where your state posts bills and look them up when they hit the news:

Get used to reading bills and noting when they would take effect

Learn how to follow a bill on its way into law - the stages are usually through various committees, then both the House and Senate can file amendments and ultimately vote in separate sessions to approve, then the governor signs it into law

Understand that a lot of reporting on bills can make it sound like it has passed into law, when it might still just be in a committee.

Not all bills pass, and when they do, not all pass as originally proposed. (This can work for or against us.)

Follow trans political commentators like Erin or Alejandra for more context

Again, it all sucks right now and I don't want to underscore the danger so many transgender Americans are already in (and lord knows I am very lucky to be able to leave Florida). But knowing what we're up against is one of the few defenses we have right now.

SMG34: The Rot (a fic by yours truly)

summary: 3 gets told to come and investigate this thing called "The Rot" in a forest, so him, 4, Meggy, Mario and Boopkins (surprisingly) set out to check it out, although things get a little odd as the Rot's influence gets to our favourite man. Sure wonder what'll happen to him!

word count: 5722

3 wasn’t happy he got roped into this. However he owed this one… he owed this one to Meggy. He hated how the closer he became to 4’s crew they only seemed to able to collect more firt on him. Although he didn't know how she could get her hands on his online activity on such forums, he thought he was better this time at covering his tracks…At least he wasn’t alone, a few others came along, like 4, Boopkins and Mario.

It was… a hike. Through the forest. Meggy had seen strange sightings and wanted to bring along others as well. This worried 3 because he really really didn’t want to break his streaming streak. He had been doing so well, having a schedule and everything and of course as soons as he got on track, someone had to come in and ruin it. This always happened so it didn’t surprise him too much but he was mad about it either way.”

However, Meggy agreed with him that he could stream this, it would be especially cool if they were to find something interesting, as if they were ghost hunters. At least something 3 can look forward to. Things that could make his streaming careers more successful always had an easier time persuading him. And he knew that, he wasn’t happy about it, but it was just a fact of life. Just like how he knew how close he grew to 4. It was hard to deny, he really cared about him. Though sometimes, scratch that, just about all the time, he made it really hard to do so. He didn’t remember a prolonged peaceful time with him. Something always has to happen, with the tension they developed over the years. But honestly, who could blame them for that?

Something that Meggy forgot to do among all things she should’ve done, was ask the others if they’re okay with the livestream. It’s really not the greatest thing to argue about on live.

“I don’t wanna have the pressure of invisible eyes on me while I don’t even know what I’m facing!” 4 whined, he looked a bit scared.

“Finally, I can add more to my smg4 fail compilation, you better not disappoint” 3 giggled, making 4 groan.

“It’s not funny, you know! Also I'm just as capable to embarrass you as well! I know what you are”

“Oh, you bastard? Are you threatening me? Right in front of my viewers?? I’ll get you cancelled on Twitter for this one!”

“Not Twitter, god no, though I bet they would like some things I have a hold of myself, like that search query you did concerning-” 4 smirked at 3, seemingly the 2 were just about to fight before Meggy pulled them apart.

“Okay, guys, that’s enough! Let’s get going”

“Oooooh” Mario pouted, putting down the popcorn he pulled out of nowhere. He loved to watch his guardians fight for such low stakes. There was something special about the ones making him dance like a clown dance for him on their own volition.

“So what are we looking at anyways?” Boopkins asked, looking scared.

“I… can’t say. I think you have to see it yourself to believe it. Although I just like to call it the rot.”

“Th… The rot?” my guy was shaking. Boopkins, what the hell, you just got here.

“Why are you here anyways? No naptime for you?” Mario teased him.

“Umm no… I just wanna try and get braver! So I can be there for my friends even more!”

“Aww, yea yea now let’s get going!” Meggy truly had enough with the banter. But would it be a real live stream if it started smoothly?

They started walking, with Mario and Meggy in the lead, with Boopkins not too far behind them. However 3 and 4 were at the back, not much further but they definitely weren’t as close to Boopkins as he was to Mario and Meggy.

3 turned his camera at 4 which made him frown.

“What, am I that interesting? Am I getting views for you?” 4 whined sarcastically, he didn’t feel like being on a stream right now. Especially since this expedition pulled him away from meme creation. As in his one and true love!

“Well, you might! Just do something embarrassing, that’d definitely work!”

“Like what, tell them about when we were younger I busted you in the toilets with-” 4 got slapped before he could answer.

3 wasn’t having any of it.

“Very mature of you to bring up the past, really, classic SMG4”

“At least I didn’t like, I don’t know, try to kill people”

“Don’t you have a body count higher than zero?”

“You… can’t prove that. Besides I bet you killed more!”

“And that’s in the past, you know? Besides, being an ex villain makes me hotter, just ask my fans”

4 looked so done with 3, especially after he showed his chat filled with overflowing thirsty support for his post villain self. 3 loved the reaction, it was like warming him up from the inside. Although he would like it better if his charisma was more appreciated by his guardian partner.

“Aaah yes, so hot twitch streamer, Super Meme Guardian 3, I could never compare”

3 laughed and looked at his chat then frowned. This surprised 4 a bit, especially since 3 decided to face his camera ahead again, to record where they’re actually walking. 3 sighed, which held 4’s attention longer than it should have.

“What’s up?” 4 asked quietly.

“Not much… just a cringe comment I didn’t like” 3 basically brushed him off. It seemed he didn’t want to go into it so 4 left him to it. It had been hard, but 4 had been trying to pay attention to when he needed to stop. He had been getting to a point where he could tell that he shouldn’t bother 3 further. It became mildly easy as he noticed how much of an open book 3 is. Just push the correct buttons and you get him all wrapped within your grasp. Like to do your bidding and stuff. 4 considered 3 a great ally and he used him a lot as well. Although he still cared about him a lot. Sometimes he wondered if 3 realised that. He just didn’t really know how to be affectionate towards 3. Whenever he tried to be serious about it, it kind of fell apart. Wanting to be kind towards him in hard situations, like when they were stuck in the elevator, yet he was met with hostility. The whole situation reminded him of a cold, snowy day as well. He shook his head hard, he didn’t need that thought right now. 3 looked at him confused, then saw how 4 was looking in the distance, and sadness he forgot to hide still showing. 3 passed his camera to Boopkins for a bit.

“Can you hold this for me for a bit?” 3 reached to Boopkins who took the camera gently with a smile. Since he helped him out with the date with M… Mi… Micheal? What was it again? He felt a bit more tolerable. Not by much though.

“Sure thing!”

Although the camera looked a little funny in his hands, considering how the camera was like third his size.

4 paid attention to this, a bit confused at what 3 was doing. He did find Boopkins struggling to carry the camera a bit funny though.

“So” 3 pulled 4 close by his back, wrapping his arm around him, continuing in a hushed tone “What’s the gloom for? It’s super obvious and it bothers me so that’s why I’m bothering you about it”

4 chuckled.

“I’m glad you care. That’s all I needed actually” 4 showed a genuine smile to 3 which left him speechless. 4 could see he made 3 a bit flustered, maybe a bit more than just a bit…

It’s like he was buffering or something.

“Ugh” 3 pulled away “Your sweetness makes me sick, god damn it… baka”

Slowly Mario turned around, pulling out a tiny rainbow flag.

“This you?” he pointed at the 2.

3 was too shocked to react, 4 threw a loose branch at him which got into his eye. Mario started screaming in his iconic way. Meggy slapped him into a new shape.

“Shhh!!! Don't disturb the wildlife, idiot!”

Mario whined quietly, removing the tiny branch from his eye. Just as he removed it, he basically forgot it was there, as he continued frolicking.

3 finally took his camera back from Boopkins.

“Finally, my arms were starting to get tired!” Boopkins sighed with relief.

Meggy turned to him although still walking.

“I could coach you to get stronger”

The relief quickly flew out of Boopkins, rather replaced with a pale expression.

“I hope I don’t hurt you with this, but I’d rather not if it’s okay”

“Your loss” Meggy shrugged.

As they continued, they started to find traces of the so-called Rot.

“This energy feels familiar” 3 exclaimed.

“Same here…” 4 added, as he exchanged a glance with 3.

“That’s a good thing! Any idea what we could be dealing with then?”

“So…” 4 started “It could be a new meme. Although I… don’t remember ever seeing it before”

“The name rot does fit it though” 3 continued “You think it could do with all the memes people used to make about bogs?”

“That’s a nice thought! Or maybe one of those nature allegory memes that sometimes pop up… most of the time from Tumblr”

“Ah right, Tumblr, this could be one of their creations”

“I thought Tumblr was dead” Meggy looked behind at the 2 as they continued on, seeing more rot on the trees and in the ground. It seemed they were getting closer and closer to the core of it.

“That’s what they all think” 3 and 4 said at the same time, then laughed at how in sync they were.

“What is tumblr?” Mario asked. The others looked at him with a knowing look. He deflated, seeing no one wanted to elaborate.

While the lighthearted banter they got into was nice, 3 couldn't shake off the tension he was feeling. Probably thanks to 4. He didn't like how his mind went for the worst when it came to him. He tried to concentrate on the task on hand, the sooner it was over, the sooner he could escape.

As they continued on, 3 was starting to feel a headache get to him. It was starting to be a bit difficult holding the camera. He tried so hard to be there but it felt like slowly everything was slowing down around him. He looked ahead… then he found himself staring at 4, getting even slower, blurrier, slowly things becoming less and less comprehensive, yet he could still feel in his heart just how worried 4 was. It felt… nice. He was glad 4 cared about him. Then everything went black. At least mostly. He was stuck in a weird state, still lightly aware of his surroundings, as he could feel himself falling over, then being grabbed and held close… Held close…? What for?

He lightly managed to open his eyes and tried to perceive the world around him, although it hurt him. It was difficult, but he figured out he was stuck in 4’s arms. Not exactly somewhere he wished to be while in a state like this. He kind of imagined feeling this sick while being cared for in his bed. Thinking about it… he wouldn’t mind 4 being there then. But this is just… embarrassing… He really hoped the stream wasn’t getting any of this… He already saw that one comment referring to 4 and him in weird ways and he didn’t like that. He felt uncomfortable on 4’s behalf as well. Who knows how hard his fans would tear him apart if they knew that he and 4 need to hold hands to use their meme guardian powers. It made him think about how he would even handle having a relationship like this. Either he would have to hide this person even if he was proud of pulling a bad bitch or have them be on display but risk the parasocial freaks coming in and ruining his dating life. He wasn’t new to the parasocial rodeo at this point, he knew about the sexyman allegations. Though it’s not like he wanted a relationship right now anyways. He liked to joke about getting bitches but he really just did that because he felt humiliated at the thought that he couldn’t pull anyone. He closed his eyes, trying to close out the sight that was 4 carrying him. That’s not to say he was fully against it but he won’t admit that so soon. But as he closed the sight out, he could hear words better.

“Homo…” he could hear Mario start then if he was guessing right, he got slapped since he stopped speaking.

“Well I’m not just gonna drag him by the foot, that would be cruel” he could hear 4 retort at the homosexual allegations.

“Is he gonna be okay?” Meggy asked, concern in her voice. 3 was kind of glad he had friends that cared for him. He wished he could say that without getting embarrassed. He hoped that they knew about it at least a little bit, as much as he could hint. But not too much, their annoying asses didn't deserve to see THAT much of him.

“I think so” 4 said “But he’s definitely not streaming like this, can we turn it off?”

“Well if you insis-” Meggy started.

“Nnnn…nnooooo… ss… stream…” 3 tried to get it out, the words small and weird. But they were heard. He didn’t like ending streams so suddenly. He’d rather die on camera than suddenly end a stream.

He heard 4 chuckle.

“Look at him, even in this state, he cares about his fans”

“How nice of him” Boopkins spoke up.

“I can see said fans are feeling the same way!” Meggy chuckled “It seems a lot of people are interested in what’s up here anyways so… for 3!”

“For 3!” both 4 and Boopkins cheered.

If 3 was fully there, he would be so embarrassed. He’d hate it. He’s starting to like this… as if he’s looking in from the outside, not subject to the actual affection of his friends yet still being the subject of it. Unbeknownst to him, he was smiling about this in 4’s arms, who noticed so. But didn’t dare comment on it. Who knows how his insane fans would treat it. Although he couldn’t just go without letting 3 know, if he could hear him.

“If you only looked this cute while conscious” 4 chuckled into 3’s ear. It sent a jolt through 3’s body, but still not enough to get him out of his state. So it was all still energy, so much, as if continuously zapping his mind. What the FUCK did 4 just say?? HIM??? CUTE??? Well, he was handsome but CUTE??? HIM??? No way, 4 didn’t know what he’s talking about. Yet the words rang in his mind, foreverly so, not leaving him. Like a forever moment. Feeling obsessed with it, even if he didn’t want to be. It made him feel so warm. Like he could feel it physically now. He heard 4 chuckle, unsure where to put it, it only made him feel weirder. It was like 4 had his fingers wrapped around him in a mental sense as well, whatever he would say, he wouldn’t be able to escape. It was… weird feeling this vulnerable.

Slowly he stirred more in 4’s arms. Still remaining as calm as he could manage, to not disturb 4 too much. He was actually kind of comfortable. Not like he’ll say that out loud. Maybe he’ll write it down in his notebook later. It had been a great source of coping for him. Writing about the things that made him feel feelings usually made them easier to digest. He looked up at 4 with half lidded eyes, he seemed so… focused. He noticed then 4 looking down, which surprised him a bit. 4 smiled, then looked to the side.

“It seems he looks a bit better now”

“That’s good! Makes me feel less bad about how we keep on going”

“We should stop for a bit though… my arms are standing to get tired… he isn’t exactly light”

“...Bitch” 3 muttered, first coherent thing he said since falling over like a log.

Everyone kind of laughed about it.

“Mario agrees!” Mario stopped and immediately whipped out his pocket spaghetti. Who knows how long that’s been there. He seemed to be happy to eat it either ways.

They all laid down for a bit, 4 laying 3 down as well then sat beside him. He really just decided to sit beside him. Maybe he really did care.

3 reached up, as best as he could as he regained his strength, reaching to 4. 4 looked at his hand a bit confused, then decided to hold it, not really understanding what 3 wanted.

“Pfft… sure whatever”

“What?” 4 asked but 3 only rolled his eyes in response.

“Guess you don’t need it then”

4 took his hand away. 3’s smile lightly faded away but not too much. He didn’t want it to be too obvious that he was disappointed about that. He wasn’t even sure how to explain that he was disappointed. He just knew that it meant a lot to him that 4 did that. He never imagined he would get so weak about him. Weak about whatever 4 directed his way.

Let it be his insults or the looks he could give him when he showed he cared. He wanted to have him whole, with all those silly little intricacies that made him who he was, even his cringe memes. Never did he care so much for someone in his life… What… What did he mean by this? Oh… OH… no… not here… not now… why couldn’t this happen at like- a more appropriate place- somewhere without 4 preferably- Well, the world is cruel to him so now he had to keep himself together in this damned situation.

He slowly sat up, not really looking at anything. He slowly breathed in, then out, slowly calming the nerves that scream about what’s boiling underneath his skin, his mind. His feelings were. Restless.

“Are you okay, 3?” Meggy turned to him, with a soft, understanding smile.

“So-so… could be better” 3 smiled back, which surprised Meggy a little.

“Do you remember what happened?”

“Not much… But…” 3 took all the strength in himself, all his emotional strength “I think the rot feeds on… frustration? I think, or anger.. I remember feeling sort of angry before… since a certain someone here can be such a piece of ass here” 3 said as he directly looked at 4.

“Did you hear what I say to you? If so, right now I’m really meaning it”

“Asshole…”

“What did you say to him?” Meggy asked, a bit suspiciously.

“That’s between us” 4 said, as he got up “We gotta keep moving anyways, I can feel how close we are”

“Yeah… let’s” 3 slowly got up, stretching his back, being held for a bit there made his back feel like a quirky little snake. The slightly loud pop from his back made Boopkins jump.

Mario looked at the 2, a big big grin that kept getting bigger.

“Hmmmmmmmmmmmm” he teased the 2, just even with his menacing Mario gaze.

3 and 4 exchanged glances.

“Home of sexual” Mario claimed, with the same big grin. 4 was ready to throw hands but 3 just got up and started walking. This shocked both but especially Meggy.

“I have no power or need to feel angry right now let’s just go, I’ll feed him bombs when we get back”

“Feeding time?” Mario looked on with great interest, his selective hearing deciding to focus right on the word ‘feed’ “Does Mario get his spaghetti?”

“Later, red, we have a mission on our hands right now”

As Meggy spoke, 3 realised his camera was in Meggy’s hand. He quickly took it back, Meggy barely realising it was taken from her.

“What’s up, chat! I live! I could never leave a stream interrupted, all of you know I’m stronger than that so I’m here again!” he marched on, with a big smile on his face. This surprised the others, especially 4 and Meggy as they looked at each other then followed after him, with Boopkins hurrying after them with his short legs. Mario shrugged, quickly forgetting about food as he followed behind them a bit delayed.

“Oh thanks for the bits! As for your question, we’re looking into something geniusly named the rot!.... ‘Is it really named the rot?’ It wasn’t named by me, I would’ve given it a better name, like forest meme fungus parasite or something like that”

“That’s actually kind of lame” 4 said.

“I agree actually” Meggy added.

Boopkins looked too concerned to end up on either sides.

“Whatever… ‘How far is it? We’ve been here for a while’ I think we’re getting closer! As you can see the trees look much different here” he put his hand against a tree, which leaked weird residue “AAAAH EWW EWW WHAT THE HELL”

4, Meggy and Mario laugh at him.

“Stuuu-piiiid” Mario keeps laughing.

3’s eyes twitched, but he was keeping his cool.

“And I think this isn’t even the stupidest thing I’ve ever seen him do!” 4 said.

Oh 4. His sweet prince. He’s done it. Truly. 3 slowly looked at him, 4 started to look scared. 3 ran at him, camera still in his hand, getting the weird liquid on him as well.

4 looked offended to hell, heaven and purgatory, he was NOT letting this go so easily. He grabbed a bit of rot as well and threw it at 3.

Mario clapped, the clowns are dancing again. Boopkins hid behind Meggy, who didn’t look very satisfied with Mario.

But, oh, if she didn’t pay attention to him, she would have realised that the ground was moving, but she only noticed when it was already pulling 3 and 4 down, and fast at that.

“4!!! 3!!!” Meggy cried out, trying to reach into the rot to no avail. It seemed she couldn’t get into it like those 2 managed to.

“Oh nooo” Mario genuinely got sad as he got down beside Meggy.

“What do we do now?” Boopkins went there last, although just as concerned as the other 2.

“I don’t know… the best we can do is… I think we should go back and get some tools! Maybe we can dig them out. Hopefully before the sun sets” Meggy proposed her idea, the other 2 nodded as they got up and started to run back, although not too fast to preserve stamina. They’re gonna NEED it.

3 and 4 laid there, underneath for a bit. It took a while until one woke up, which was 4. They were on top of each other, which he wasn’t too thrilled about. Though, to his horror, he couldn’t get up. He was stuck to him like this. At least it was just by their waists mainly… Who was he kidding, that’s probably the worst place to get stuck at, hands were way better, he’d rather have a week of that than this! He looked around, seeing that the place wasn’t big anyways. It was kind of dark, only illuminated by the rot’s faint blueish-green glow. What a weird way for a meme to manifest. At this point he was pretty sure it was a meme, although a powerful one. It seemed it had a strong staying power, one he hadn’t seen in a while. Another sign that it could be from Tumblr. He never liked Tumblr memes, they were always weird and hard to deal with. Since 3 was still not awake, 4 couldn’t channel the meme away either, 3 had to be at least awake for that. At least it was calm. He decided to pay attention to 3’s face. Just like before, he looked so peaceful. Although he could appreciate the energy he brought, he sometimes wished 3 could direct energy like this at him. He smiled, glad that he could get something like this to happen, although he’s still not very happy about the situation. As 4 looked around again, he noticed the lightly damaged camera, directed at them, still on.

“Ah” was all that was left in his mouth, as he went a bit pale, knowing what they were doing was broadcasted to many people. He got on 4s, in an uncomfortable way, considering he was still stuck to 3 and reached for the camera.

“Ummm… Hello, SMG3 viewers” 4 started awkwardly “I’d like to say thank you for all of you being here. Especially thank you for motivating us to go forward. I think I know what we will have to do with this so-called rot… But I will end stream here, it’s been a good run, thank you all for coming” 4 smiled at the camera and waved before turning the broadcast off.

That was when 3 stirred.

“Nggghh…” 3 looked up, having to blink a few times to see what the fuck is going on, kind of not believing his eyes, as he could feel his ears and face heat up.

“OI WHAT THE FUCK DUDE” 3 flipped, literally flipped, thinking they could separate but instead they fell over together, now with 3 on top, and their faces getting a bit too close from the velocity. 3 got distracted for a second. 4 took a bit before he returned the favour, as 3’s careless outburst only served to make him angrier. And so they got into a cycle of throwing each other but the bond on them still not budging.

“Why must you be such a bitch,,” 4 whined as 3 tried his best pulling 4 off of his waist, but he only bounced back, their foreheads meeting. which made both yelp in pain.

“FUCKING CHRIST” 3 cried out.

“DUMBASS” 4 cried back at him.

3 tried to calm himself down as he looked around, seeing his camera which was turned off.

“Did… the camera break?”

“No… I” 4 realised he might not live “turned off the stream” his words were small.

3 slowly turned to him, his face the reckoning, judgement upon him, all in a pair of eyes that belong to his meme guardian partner.

“You… did… what?” 3 leaned closer to him, it would’ve been an understatement to call his vibes menacing.

“I-I” 4 trembled under 3’s gaze.

“You don’t SIMPLY end my stream”

“I said goodbye!!”

“And?”

“I thanked them for being here!!”

“...”

4 looked scared as hell, his puppy eyes coming out, begging for forgiveness. Those eyes hit 3 square in the heart.

“Shit.. whatever I guess, I’ll let you be about it”

“Oh, thank you thank you” 4 hugged him, 3 could only roll his eyes.

3 tried to get up again, and maybe stand up right if everything goes well. And as he did, it seemed to be really hard for their faces to not be close. It was starting to frustrate both of them. Slowly, they both stood on their feet, although still stuck to each other. That’s when 4 remembered.

“Hey, wait, we can channel the rot away! You can feel its meme energy too, right?”

3 looked up, then nodded. 4 grabbed both of 3’s hands. 3 was sort of distracted by the whole thing. He didn’t like being so close so soon. He wanted to have at least a little bit of time to process his feelings. 4 noticed that, as they weren’t as efficient as they were supposed to be.

“3!! What’s with you??”

That seemed to snap 3 out of it, who looked to the side, a powerless sigh escaping his lips.

“I can’t explain”

“WHAT do you mean you can’t explain?? Let’s just get out here!! Don’t you want to get out??”

“I-... of course I do, you think I’m stupid?”

“Well, you’re looking very stupid right now, not channeling yourself!”

“Don’t you… don’t you see…? We’re just… a bit too close for my taste” 3 looked down, feeling ashamed. He didn’t want it to be true but it was, tears welling up in his eyes.

“What do you-”

“IT- IT WOULD BE SO MUCH EASIER IF YOU WEREN’T RIGHT IN MY FACE” 3 cried, tears rolling down his face “YOU think I WANT TO BE HERE?? I’D RATHER BE ETERNITIES AWAY FROM YOU RIGHT NOW” those tears just wouldn’t stop.

“THEN FUCKING CHANNEL, YOU BITCH, THEN YOU CAN GO”

“FUCK YOU”

“WHAT”

4 let go of 3’s hands, now pissed himself, both of them pissed in fact.

“BITCH” 3 added.

“WHY YOU-”

And they started throwing hands, fighting again. Which fell to an abrupt end, as 4 held 3 against a wall of rot.

“WHY CAN’T YOU JUST CHANNEL”

“I FEEL STUPID WITH YOU”

“YOU’RE CALLING ME STUPID?” 4 leaned closer to 3, who seemed to feel more ashamed than ever, as if he said something sacred, as if he sinned.

“Ju… just sh-.. shut up already, fuck..” 3 could feel his heart twist. 3 looked at 4 slowly, cautiously sadness pouring out from his eyes. He couldn’t hide it. He felt ashamed but he knew no other way out.

“3… 3 I’m…” 4 returned to a softer gaze.

“Are you stupid? I said…” once again, 3’s heart, it couldn’t take it “I feel stupid WITH you”

“Wh… What?”

“You really are stupid…”

4 didn’t look amused.

“So you called me stupid anyways”

“YOU-” 3 clenched his fists, trying his best to hold back from screaming at 4 again “You just… don’t seem to understand. And… I don’t know if I’m… shameless enough to just tell you everything…”

4 could feel something in his heart now as well. He didn’t understand what was going on.

“I’m… sorry”

“Oh? What did you say?”

“I said that I’m sorry…”

“Can you say it again?” 3 looked at him with a little evil grin, although still strained from the emotions he was feeling. It was obvious to 4. He gave him the stink eye then moved one of his hands to pet 3’s head.

“Can a man not be sorry?” 4 joked, which kind of worked, although the head pat flustered 3 a bit.

“Shut the fuck up”

“Sheesh”

3 giggled, seemingly calming down a bit.

“Let’s just get this over with, 3? You did say you wanted to be gone from me” although 4 would usually hide his feelings better, he sounded more sad than he should have.

3 couldn’t help but smile.

“So you DO care, huh?”

“I- of course I do, you’re one of my bestest friends!! I wouldn’t wanna stay away from you”

“Right right…friends… “ 3 looked down, he couldn’t bring himself to be angry anymore. He was tired.

“Wait you- you don’t mean…” 4 stared at 3, who wouldn’t dare look back. Although, it was hard avoiding him when they’re stuck by the waist.

Suddenly a lot of things started to make sense to 4. Memories flashing by him, as he looked at 3, looking back at everything. The things he would feel with him. More than just the meme energy they could channel together, there was way more there, more than he ever realised. They way he just… my god… The realisation hit him like a car crash.

“I’m in love with you??” 4 spoke confused, 3 looked at him confused.

3 couldn’t bring himself to words, he could only look back at 4. 3 knew his heart was flying sky high though, with his face feeling god awfully warm too. After the confusion wore off, 4 smiled, kind of coming to peace with it. Skipping a few stages of grief there, huh?

“Let’s get out of here, 3” he grabbed his hands, once again, although softly.

The 2 look at each other for quite a long moment, as they slowly channel the meme energy, yet they can’t help thinking: this is not enough. It’s kind of weird how they both leaned in at the same time, sharing a power shattering kiss that vaporized all the rot out of existence, even the thin layer that made them stuck. Although they were still stuck in the hole that the rot dug out. They looked up, finally seeing the outside world. It was a sight they didn’t think they’d miss so much. Ironically to what 3 was saying before, he didn’t seem to want to let go of 4. 4 didn’t mind that.

“Hey” 3 spoke awkwardly “Just saying if you’d like to kiss me again, you’re totally allowed to”

4 smiled brightly as he took on the request, melting into 3’s touch in the process. Nothing was perfect and wonderful sunshine forever rainbow though so…

“Guys, we’re- oooooooh” Meggy stopped as she noticed the 2.

“We’re here we’re- OOOOOOOOOH” Mario piped up even louder.

“What’s with the- WOAAAH” Boopkins seemed to be the most surprised. He didn’t even see it coming.

The 2 idiots finally noticed the outrage their homosexual activity made happen.

“SHUT THE FUCK UP” 3 yelled at them.

“Yeah you tell them!!” 4 cheered him on.

The 3 other idiots, who patiently pulled them out of the hole could barely wait to ask about everything. What happened in there? Are they Homo Sex now? (A Mario original question) Most importantly: are they okay?

“None of you speak of what you saw” 3 pointed at Meggy, Mario and Boopkins. Boopkins and Meggy nodded, while Mario had different intentions. He was going into his usual devious Mario smile.

“Mario” 3 looked at him with violent intent.

“Hee hee hee”

“Mario, he’s serious” 4 added, also ready to throw hands.

Mario took a few seconds then suddenly took off.

“MARIOOO”

“GET BACK HERE”

“MARIO MUST SHARE WORD OF THE GAY”

And so they couldn’t catch him, now everyone knew that his guardian partners were also romantic partners now. A beautiful ending <3.

Zhang Zhehan, 813, and Zhang Sanjian FAQ

I’ve been thinking for a while that I should make this as a starting place for people just learning about the situation. Please let me know if you have any corrections or anything you would like me to add.

1. What happened to Zhang Zhehan? / What is 813?

On August 13. 2021, a photo was spread by online water armies of Zhang Zhehan in front of cherry blossoms from a trip he had taken to Japan in 2018. This was accompanied by claims that he had been there to visit the Yasukuni Shrine—a politically controversial shrine which honors WWII war criminals—and that he held right-wing anti-Chinese sentiments. This photo was later joined by others, all either photoshopped or with falsified context, “backing up” these accusations along with further claims slandering him and his family.

In the days following, Zhang Zhehan lost all of his endorsements, had all of his past works taken down, had all of his social media shut down, and was boycotted by the private association CAPA without the chance to defend himself. His name and image were also later banned from social media, he was used as a negative example in schools and on exams, and his name is blocked from registration on some social media sites and certain devices. He and his family have been subject to intense harassment including death threats.

All of the accusations against him have been shown to be false and he is currently pursuing legal action, but he is still unable to speak or appear publicly in any capacity.

2. Who was behind 813?

The boycott was issued by the China Association of Performing Arts (CAPA), a private industry association that at the time held sway (but no official authority) over many social media and streaming companies. CAPA is heavily suspected of being the ones who orchestrated the entire incident and related events, see point 4 below.

2.5. Was Gong Jun behind 813?

No, he had no motive whatsoever, was still a small name in the industry at the time, has no industry sway, had his most popular show taken down because of 813, and was targeted by similar attacks in the months after. If he had not stayed quiet about 813, Gong Jun very easily could have been taken down by it as well. Please see point 7 below if you have this belief because of Zhang Sanjian / zhangzhehan_super3, and if you have this belief because of the Twitter account Justice for Zhang Zhehan please know that she is an idiot.

3. Was 813 caused by censorship / homophobia / the Chinese government?

No. There is no evidence for 813 having anything to do with censorship, it was perpetuated by private venture capitalism. The Chinese government had no known involvement—CAPA has no government affiliation, and both the NRTA and MCT confirmed after inquiry that they had nothing to do with Zhang Zhehan’s cancellation. Quite the opposite, it was said by Li Xuezheng that government officials were in attendance during the interview between him and Zhang Zhehan released 2022-01-01.

4. Why Zhang Zhehan? / What was the motive behind 813?

The exact reason is not known for sure, but it is heavily suspected that he turned down an exclusive endorsement deal with one of CAPA’s subsidiaries around March / April 2021. CAPA took this as a slight and, because he was heavily in the public eye at the time, they decided to make him an example of what they could do to people who refused to play their game.

Other smaller parties who participated in 813 were driven by industry competition, private capital, mob mentality, and/or because they’re shitheads who found it fun.

5. Does the lack of news about Zhang Zhehan mean he’s given up / he’s lost his case?

Absolutely not, and quite the opposite in fact. Avoiding the public eye is the best thing Zhang Zhehan can do to avoid media frenzy and the potential skewing of the narrative that that could cause. Due to the length of time it has been since 813, whatever Zhang Zhehan first does when he becomes public again is guaranteed to cause a stir, and therefore he has to be very careful about not saying anything publicly until he and his case are at a favourable point to do so.

6. Could Zhang Zhehan pursue a career internationally instead?

Until his name is cleared, no.

Zhang Zhehan did not have enough international recognition prior to 813 to realistically build a career overseas, and he has not shown fluency in any language other than Mandarin with which to do so. Even if he did pursue this, until his name is cleared he will always be associated with 813 and would struggle to find success with how he would be viewed by Chinese diaspora.

As well, given the nationalistic nature of 813, seeking a career overseas would communicate guilt and/or giving up on his case.

7. Is Zhang Sanjian / the zhangzhehan_super3 Instagram account / the person releasing new songs Zhang Zhehan?

No. There is overwhelming evidence that Zhang Sanjian etc. is a scam using Zhang Zhehan’s name and image, utilizing photoshopping, deepfakes, and impersonators.

The people behind this have known professional connections to CAPA, and the activities the scam has engaged in have consistently been aimed at further damaging his image. The Zhang Sanjian persona is characterized as having given up on clearing his name, being degrading and rude to both his fans and former costars, and giving up on his career in China to pursue international fame (see point 6 above). Practically every action made by the persona and related parties go completely against Zhang Zhehan’s character and/or make no logical sense for someone in his position.

8. Why doesn’t Zhang Zhehan speak out against Zhang Sanjian?

See point 5 above. It is likely that part of the original aim of Zhang Sanjian was specifically to try to bait him into saying something against it. The scam has been trying very hard to control the public narrative via buying public screens, commissioning tabloid articles, releasing a ridiculous number of songs and artificially raising hit counts on these, etc.

9. Why go through so much effort to erase Zhang Zhehan / continue the Zhang Sanjian scam?

For CAPA, Zhang Zhehan winning his case and overturning his boycott will heavily diminish their industry influence (not to mention jail time, hopefully). It could, in the best case scenario, even lead to the complete disbandment of the company under Chinese anti-monopoly legislation. (see the first point under [this post])

For the smaller players involved in the scam specifically, the motive is by and large personal financial gain. Many are known to be in debt / have been in debt but are suddenly now making lavish purchases (Sophie for example), some are known professional con men (Peter), and some are seeking other personal goals such as trying to get famous themselves (Lexus), to promote their own businesses (the Chens and the gym bros), or even for sexual gratification (Hewitt).

As well, it’s important to keep in mind the financial scale of the extremely lucrative Chinese entertainment industry. The amount that has been spent on 813 and everything since is barely anything in the grand scheme of things.

AITA for making dinner plans the same night my friend arrived in the country to stay at my place?

My friend Erin (27F) and I (25F) are both citizens of Country A and have lived/worked in Country B for about ~3 years; up until about a year ago when she got a promotion that sent her back to Country A. She's sent back to Country B for work related things about twice a year, and she tries to use a few vacation days to arrive a little early or stay a little late for personal visiting time. She was set to arrive last week and had asked if she could stay at my apartment for a few days before she got the company hotel, and I said yes. All she had said in advance was she'd arrive at night; trains and public transport are really good in Country B and we know the language / city very well, I didn't need to pick her up at the airport, just at my local station to walk to my apartment.

The day of her flight, my boyfriend (27M) asked if we wanted to go to dinner. He absolutely did not mean a nice dinner - just meeting up for chicken or traditional noodle place, nothing fancy or long. He's a Country B local and lives south of where I live/ my office is, so, deciding where and when to meet up would really affect timing to meet up with Erin. From my morning onward I began messaging her asking about when her flight would arrive/ when she'd get into the station. I was mindful of the time difference and I was sure I would catch her before the flight. I'm not allowed to be on my phone at the office, but I kept checking and texting / messaging on different apps throughout the work day, to ask when she would arrive, hoping that even if she was on airplane mode and on the flight, she would get at least one of the messages. At one point I did add that my boyfriend and I were thinking of getting dinner after I finished work and so wanted to know when she would arrive, and that I could still meet her at night. Verbatim one of my messages: "I'm not sure what time your arrival is but we might have dinner plans, but the night is good - I'm just trying to figure out timing." The last few hours of work I couldn't check my phone at all. I also told my boyfriend that dinner probably wouldn't happen, unless he wanted to get up and meet us for a later dinner once Erin arrived, but I couldn't tell him when.

Finally when I finished work, I went to see if Erin had responded at last. She had blocked me on Instagram and Snapchat. I went on Twitter, checking the apps I had messaged her, and she had unfollowed me, but she had a public account, and was saying: "some girls are the fakest" "quality over quantity cut the dumb bitches off" etc. So I iMessaged her asking what happened and what I did, and she said, "you're a bad friend, so I don't want to be your friend anymore." "I asked you like five times before coming if I could stay at your place and now you want to see what's up with that dumbass looking boy." "I'm super burned off by you."

I told her I was kind of in shock and didn't know what to say. I told her "I just needed to know timing" - I didn't even know when she was sending the messages if she had landed or had plane wifi. She said she had found someone else to stay with last minute and just kept saying I'm a bad friend and she doesn't need me as a friend.

I'm stunned. I've seen her be angry and irritated before but we've been friends since undergrad and we've never had a fight. I'm rereading my messages I sent her through the day and trying to see if I said anything in a way that implied I was cancelling on her. I genuinely only meant to know when she was arriving so I could figure out how to spend my evening and what to do for dinner. All I knew was "night" - I didn't know if she was coming at 5, at 8, at 9, at 10:30, and what I would do or could do for dinner depended on when she would be at the station. Maybe I shouldn't have said that the option I was specifically thinking of was dinner with my boyfriend? But I mean - I really didn't mean to imply her time was deprioritized or that she couldn't stay at my place? So maybe I shouldn't have tried to make other plans at all? I'm really just trying to logic this out and if I shouldn't have tried to do dinner too.

a (long ass) piece of advice 💌

if you've grown up without knowing what it's like to not have smartphones and social media ruling everyone's lives, you need to learn what your mind is like when it's offline. you simply have to. it's not optional, because if you never de-wire and disconnect your brain and body from it, you will get sick. you may already be sick from it but there's someone in your life saying that you're actually the problem. you're not! this situation is not your fault! but you need to give your mind the time and space to heal and to find out who you are when you're not online.

it's probably weird to say this while on Tumblr, but hear me out. when I decided to quit social media, I was out of Tumblr, but I was on Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and I was a heavy user of YouTube and Twitch. lucky for me, Tiktok never got to my ass, but I escaped by a hair's breadth! if I hadn't quit around that time, I would've fallen down the rabbit hole for sure.

I had been using social media since the early days of Myspace, so of course life without it seemed impossible. it seemed literally impossible, as in, if I stop using social media I'll stop being a functional part of society, I'll be less than human. this wasn't really a conscious thought I had, but I eventually discovered that this was how I felt all the time.

still, I was sick. I was out of my mind with anxiety, I was depressed, I didn't really recognize myself anymore. I couldn't really tell if my thoughts were my own, and I felt so much pressure to be on top of every subject, every discussion, every debate, and not only be on top of everything but to be on the right side of every single story. because social media is binary: you're either right or cancelled. I was constantly paranoid that I would say something wrong and get death threats or stalked, both things that happened even though I had a small following. and the platforms were getting increasingly worse in terms of privacy, so my paranoia felt more and more justified.

so, right before the pandemic hit the world, I quit. everything, all at once. I just deleted everything, blocked the websites on my browser so I wouldn't visit them "by accident", just poof, gone.

and I stayed without any social media for 3 years, until I decided to come back to Tumblr last October (I think?).

it literally saved my life! or at least my mind. at first, withdrawal felt much like when I quit smoking, it felt like the days were empty and too quiet, too long. I constantly felt like the world was actually ending and I didn't know it because I wasn't getting anything from Twitter. I felt like I was invisible, because I wasn't constantly taking selfies anymore. and for months, I still felt like I was being followed by this big judgemental eye that was ready to pick up on whatever I said that wasn't on par with public discourse to destroy me.

I realized that having all that social media presence made me completely disconnected from my daily routine. I was in constant self-surveillance mode; never paying attention to my surroundings, always waiting for the next thing; I couldn't keep a conversation right because I was always distracted; I felt like I never had time for anything because my mind was always on the virtual side of life. suddenly I had hours and hours of free time available, suddenly I could just speak my mind without worrying about what strangers would think of it, suddenly I could give myself time to form opinions and even freedom to not have an opinion on something. I learned again what it's like to be bored, how to contemplate in silence, how to pay attention and focus.

am I saying you should quit everything forever? not really. but you need to do this experiment. you need to remove yourself from the virtual reality to find out who you are outside of it. you need to find your silence, your space, your path without this noise, this interference. so my actual advice is: delete or at least deactivate all your social media, all of it, for at least 6 months. in one semester, you'll have enough time to actually detox your mind, get over the withdrawal period and then start to listen to your time and space and re-learn who you are. and then, if you miss it, you can go back to social media, but then you'll go into it with a completely changed mindset. you'll be in control of it, you'll hold the reigns of your thoughts, you'll know immediately when you're in too deep and in need of a step back. you'll no longer be obsessed or even addicted to the virtuality of life.

I cannot emphasize enough how much this will change your life, and if you're like me, someone who knows no life outside of social media, basically, this is literally a matter of bodily and mental health.

jeno slowly blinked and leaned towards the phone to read comments, after he saw them he leaned back on the wall. “czennie i’m not tired thanks for caring”

the rest of dream has concerned looks on their face. soon they heard a knock on the door of the room they were in. mark got up to answer it and it was a staff. she signaled for jeno to leave the live.

“i gotta go love you all” as he got up he stumbled.

“we are taking you to the doctor right now”

on the way, giselle called mark and let him know. he relayed it to everyone else, “i thought so” haechan laughed.

the only person who didn’t know yet was jeno. you soon arrived to the er, stumbling to jeno’s room. “i’m nervous”

“don’t be he’s your soulmate you have your life ahead of you to get to know him, now i’ll be outside the door okay?”

you nodded and knocked on the door.

“come in”

you walk in to see him on the bed drinking a bunch of orange juice.

“oh, hi y/n.”

“hi”

“they told me to drink a lot of fluids... sorry to say i think we’ll have to cancel tomorrow”

“um actually i’ve been having the same symptoms you’re having and… and right now it’s kind of at ease”

jeno paused. he realized he was starting to feel fine. “woah y/n you’re-”

jeno stayed silent contemplating what he would say next while he got out of bed to talk to you.

“y/n. can i ask where you went today?”

“i was at sm…”

jeno pondered for a bit

“can i ask if you were close to the dancer studios?”

you took a breath, “i was. you?”

“yeah i was”

jeno inched closer, “i guess there’s one thing to do”

jeno slowly grabbed your waist and brought you closer to him. “can i y/n?”

you nodded and jeno kissed you. he took his time, his grip tightening. you no longer felt any lingering dizziness. when he pulled back he kissed your forehead, “feel better?”

you nodded, “are you better?”

he smiled and nodded, “but let me do it again just to make sure”

you giggled and leaned back into the kiss.

i have this funny and adorable request where Chris watching cocomelon or random toddler shows with his toddler sister! reader on his phone. when chris naps, toddler reader unintentionally play with her brother's phone and accidentally wrote (something like: *jifodsjifjfuckgsjifblahfloop*) on chris's twitter account.

“Bubbas awake”

Paring: Chris x toddler! Sister reader

Warnings: absolutely none just some tooth rotting fluff.

Summary: Chris is ment to be looking after y/n but he falls asleep whilst watching Timmy time (absolute British classic I miss it he’s my picture on Netflix) so she’s gets up to a little of classic y/n trouble just this time it’s with his phone and certain twitter account.

Timmy time was your current obsession the little sheep and his adventures with his friends had you literally fixated for hours.

When Chris was looking after you whilst your ma was out doing errands, he said he’d looked after you since he’s not long just got back from filming, so he said he wouldn’t think of anything better to do then spend time with his lovebug.

It was time he could switch off because you cancelled each other out with him being stressed and you being stressed because he’s not there.

It being that the both of you were so relaxed, you fixated on on Timmy and his adventures at playtime and chris bring essentially exhausted from being away filming having to be going 200mph all the time.

He slowly began to fall asleep, eyes getting heavy, trying to stay awake for you to mindlessly babble about the sheep and just other funny things.

This is where y/n gets in to her ‘classic y/n trouble’.

So with bubba being asleep and me watching Timmy time on his phone, y/n accidentally exited netflix by swiping up which closed the app and found the fateful blue bird app.

“Ooo bluey birdie” she says fascinated by the app picture. She clicks on it, noting on the white dashboard the blue ‘+’ button on the bottom right hand corner.

Y/n starts to babble what she is typing and some of it starts to autocorrect to certain words it spelt like so it ends up a little something like this.

All she does after is close his phone and then she tries to wake Chris up to get him to put Timmy back on and thankfully after a good shout of “Bubbbbaaaaa wake up” he jolts awake thinking something is seriously wrong.

“Bubbas awake what’s- what’s wrong lovebug?” He asked panic painted all over his face.

“Bubba wook what i did” y/n said giggling as she tried to tell Chris what she did.

Chuckling at how y/n literally couldn’t stop laughing at his phone, it finally clicked what y/n was laughing at when he saw the twitter dashboard his phone was blowing up all he did when he saw was she did.

All he could do was laugh, full left boob grab. He couldn’t stop when he did he picked y/n and just tickled her so much and they just went crazy. It was just too funny.

After a while they both pooped out on the couch cuddling into his chest y/n was snoozing and chris was sleeping armed wrapped tightly around her.

And let’s just say the Chris Evans fandom loved the picture posted by Scott finding them like this and attaching it to y/ns iconic tweet.

That’s how that happened and the world loved it and I’m pretty sure Chris did too…

HSMTMTS thoughts before season 4

So I recently finished my re-watch of season 1 through 3 before the final season airs so that things are fresh in my memory. I wanted to make a couple of posts on my thoughts on the seasons in general and possibly some specific topics like the characters themselves. This one will be about each season.

Season 1:

I hadn't seen this season since when it originally aired and let me just say, it was kind of a grind to watch. I feel like the season didn't really start until the Homecoming episode which was ep 5. I also forgot this season had 10 episodes. The whole Nini/Ricky/EJ triangle storyline didn't really hit for me. Ricky's home problems with his parents, everything changing around him (which he clearly hates) and how he dealt with that was probably the best storyline of the season, as sad as it was to see his character go through it. The music in the season was decent, Nini had some really good. I think a lot of nostalgia comes in to play with the way people talk about season 1, it is overhyped. I also think a lot of it has to do with the very weird Jolivia obsession that still to this day for some reason resides in the fandom, I see the PFP's and twitter user names smh. Overall, new shows tend to struggle out of the gate and need a while to find the right path so I'm at least glad that they got more seasons to continue that journey instead of being cancelled like many shows do without getting the chance to do so. It certainly seems like they were not sure whether they would get renewed or not after season 1.

Season 2:

It really is a shame that this season has the most episodes because I feel like it is definitely the weakest season. It was a struggle to get through this season on the re-watch. I appreciate what the cast and crew went through while filming this season though because I know they started filming in Feb 2020 and stopped in March because of the pandemic and had to return towards the end of 2020 until March of the next year with under strict conditions. So, maybe the pandemic played a role in the quality of the season but I feel like this was even the casts least favorite season with the way they talked about it. Nini's YAC storyline felt out of place and just didn't keep me engaged, the lighting for this season was also very dark lol. I do think this season did a nice job of continuing to show Ricky's struggle with his home life from season 1 and the fact that things were still changing in his life which the show continues to mention just how much he hates that. Ashlyn getting the leading role as Belle was nice and her dealing with her insecurities about that was good. The season Finale fell flat though, it seemed rushed and I think it was ranked as the worst episode in the whole series. This season did however have 2 of my favorite songs of the whole show, the trio of Kourtney, Gina and Ashlyn coming together to sing 1-2-3 was great. The 4 main characters (Nini, Gina, EJ and Ricky) singing Second Chance was so good, they meshed well together.

Season 3:

This season is probably my favorite. I know some people in the fandom don't feel the same about the season because it felt different from the first 2 but I think that is a good thing. Sometimes shows need a change of pace and they did that with this season. Making it a summer season out of school at a camp was something different and the show had a different tone because of it. It was definitely more lighthearted compared to season 2 and the cast seemed to have had great time filming together. Also going from filming in Utah to filming in LA was probably a nice change for the actors since most of them are based in LA. I know the whole documentary storyline thing was an adjustment for people but they clearly had a plan for it to be a springboard for the plot in season 4 and connect them together. Besides that, Kourtney's anxiety storyline was a highlight for me as I'm sure lots of people could relate to her, the phone call with her mom was great and I'm interested to see if they touch on this more in season 4. Some of the disappointment in the season comes from favorite characters not being in it like Seb and Big Red which is understandable but it's also realistic that not everyone in the group would go to the same camp in the summer, when people usually have different plans. Also, the show clearly felt like they weren't as important to tell the story in season 3 which was used too set up season 4. It was nice that Big Red, Seb and Miss Jenn did make cameo's though, with how big the cast is and the length of the episodes that are not that long it's hard to fit everyone in with meaningful storylines. The additions of Maddox and Jet this season were probably the best new characters that the show has added during the 3 seasons, the actors playing them are great as well and seem to have really bonded with the cast which is really nice to see. WDYKAL was probably my favorite performance of the season, it was very non Disney like lol The tension and chemistry was kind of crazy lol I feel like they could have shown more of the Frozen performance but Kourtney playing Elsa was also a great moment in the season. I'm really excited for season 4 because they seem to be going with a really META storyline for the season and I'm excited too see how the documentary from season 3 has affected the characters.

Anyways, this turned out longer than I intended it too but these are my thoughts on each of the 3 seasons after my re-watch, I will probably make a couple more posts on singular topics like the characters or the ships later. I'm always up for discussions, so if you have anything you want to say please do. I know this place can get out of hand when discussing this show within the fandom but I have thicker skin than most and I don't mind having a discussion but I also understand I'm not the norm lol

1. Oh gosh uh… 10 so far with speaking roles I think, 17 I believe, including people mentioned who don’t speak? That’s what you get when a work gets that long I guess 😭

2. That I’ve read or written? That’s honestly such a hard one I’ve read so many incredible amazing fics. I am currently in my @aqpippin obsession era and sleeping with strangers actively changed my entire life by being so good, you already know that the as of yet unpublished halldoll hanahaki WILL be on this list as soon as you finish it and let me see it 👀 and then of course I have to include the fic that inspired me to start writing and publishing my own drag race fanfic, no different from anywhere else (lovingly called bodyguard au by me). As for my own fic? I’m very proud of my newest one :) and I have a few things im working on in my brain that I’m excited to get onto paper

Year- “oh my god, what are you, four years old? They’re olives, Anetra. Who hurt you? What kind of person doesn’t like olives?”

Open- Anetra seemed uncomfortable, looking around the room — at the posters in the wall, out the open window, anywhere but Marcia.

Flower- “There’s pepperoni on there, you delicate flower. Just pick off the olives before you eat it and you have your boring pepperoni pizza right there,” Marcia remarked.

Tell- “And for the record, you initiated everything. Every time. I have never pushed you to do anything you didn’t want to do, that you didn’t literally tell me you were sure you wanted to do.”

Hey Lovelies. 30 days is a LONG time. I get that. I'm feeling it in my bones too. I want you to know it's totally normal if you are feeling frustrated, and exhausted, and just over all of this effort to get our show back.

It's okay to feel that way.

You don't need to be positive all the time, you're allowed to feel grief. I know we've grieved several times since the original announcement, but just like progress, grief isn't linear either.

It's going to come up again in waves, and hopefully those waves get smaller each time, but they will keep coming until we get our show back.

I say UNTIL WE GET OUR SHOW BACK, because despite my own frustrations, I don't really have any doubt that it will happen at this point, it's just a matter of when.

What makes me feel that way?

Chaos Dad's silence

The fact he hasn't told us to just stop cause there's no way it's gonna happen

The whole "everybody is ready to go" in Aotearoa we heard from Wee John Wondays

and so many other little things that continue to happen that keep making it feel like we're inching forward.

I'm not an expert, I just have a feeling, based on staring at every happening that's happened over the past 30 days.

So if you need to, go grieve lovelies! Get mad, get frustrated, scream, cry, it's normal and it's healthy. You deserve to let feelings those out.

You are human, and you are wonderful, and you can't be a ray of sunshine all the time (nor should you have to be).

And for those of you who aren't grieving, and instead feeling renewed excitement, that's absolutely wonderful too. Don't feel like you have to grieve if that's not where you're at! Every one of us has a personal journey through all of this, and not one of us will share the exact same experience, so remember not to judge your progress based on everyone else.

Step right up, step right up! It's that time of the month where I give out opinions that will most likely get me crucified! Stick around for that!

Today I'm gonna be making one of my first "voicing opinions on Danganronpa" posts, that I might make more of. Since you know, I'm a Danganronpa fan, and have some thoughts about it.

Most of these posts are more than likely not based on OBJECTIVE fact (is it well written?) it's just my purely SUBJECTIVE opinion (do i hate it ot not?)

And Obviously MAJOR SPOILERS

Aight, let's cut to the chase: I fucking hate Tenko Chabashira.

No joke, she is one of my least favourite characters in V3. Not the entire series, just V3. I get she's kinda the "joke character that dies in Chapter 3 so we can have tension in Chapter 4", but every time she was on screen I groaned.

Again, this is all subjective opinion, and I'm not even gonna try to pretend that this isn't full of bias, because it definitely is. You're allowed to disagree with me. I'm not gonna be like "Tenko's objectively the worst character in the series!", cuz that sort of claim is dumb.

But goddamn man, I've held this opinion in for YEARS, ever since my first exposure to Danganronpa. It's coming out now.

Here's Chabashira's basic shtick: she adores girls, hates men with a burning passion, has the hots for Yumeno... and is really fucking annoying. That's 90% of her character.

POINT ONE: HASHTAG "I HATE MEN"

If you hate those "Hashtag Kill All Men" girls that you normally see on sites like TikTok (because of course it'd be on TikTok), then you're probably not gonna like Chabashira either. There's not a single scene with her that has Chabashira NOT say "Degenerate Male", and it gets old REAL fast. Even more so than Angie's "atua" or Kiibo's "robophoic".

This mixed in with her loud and obnoxious personality makes it REALLY hard for me to find her even slightly tolerable.

"Uhm Actuhally, Tenko is an overexcited and cheerful person" yeah well, I think Ibuki did that shtick 8 billion times better.

And the thing is: her "i hate men" thing would be KINDA understandable if she was among the cast of Trigger Happy Havoc or Goodbye Despair, the games where TeruTeru Hanamura and Hifumi Yamada exist in. There, she would at least have something to use as an example and NOT sound like she's spewing complete bullshit. But with the exception of Ouma (and technically Korekiyo for reasons that she wasn't alive to see), all the male characters in V3 were at least decent people.

And I'm betting most of my money on this point: If Tenko Chabashira was genderbent and said all the things she usually says to men towards women, she would've be one of the most hated characters of the entire series, HANDS DOWN.

Imagine this one screenshot, but Saihara is a girl and Chabashira is a boy, and change the text to "degenerate female". Can you see the point now?

Seriously, if a male character said something like THIS to a female character: Guaranteed Cancellation. Twitter users all around the globe would be going NUTS the second V3 gains attention. It wouldn't matter how much of an overexcited person she is, nor any other good quality she could have. Genderbent Tenko + changing hating men to hating women = instantly the most hated character in the series.

Also, I think that this wouldn't be anywhere near as bad if she actually got called out in-game for these things, but she never does, or at least not in the main story. Nobody ever tells her "ayo, Tenko, your hating on men is getting annoying/problematic could you shut up about it for five seconds?" Nope. At most she's told to "calm down" (which half the time she just ignores), but NOBODY tells her that this isn't okay.

Say what you will about Danganronpa S. As mid as the game itself is:

At least some characters there were being like "I'm don't gotta put up with you and your annoying ass, bish." No such thing happens in V3.

So I thought: "Okay, what's the reason for this? Surely if she hates men this much, surely that means a boy must've done something really bad to her to CAUSE this." Well... nah.

See, after going through her FreeTime Events, you eventually learn that the reason why she hates men so much is because: her Master (who's a man too, might I add) basically taught her so and she's extremely gulliable.

...

What. You thought there was more to it? Because there isn't. And that's not even the infuriating part, THIS is the infuriating part:

Her master, who she REALLY looks up to and whose every word she takes at face value... is a man himself. And Tenko only realized that was the case when Saihara pointed it out.

Again, I understand that Chabashira is NOT one of the characters you're supposed to take seriously. She's a joke character that dies in Chapter 3 so the tension in later chapters isn't severed. If anything this is probably a joke I'm taking way too seriously.

That being said, this is some of the STUPIDEST nonesense I've ever come across in a character's freetime events.

First off, I don't care how guillable you are, HOW DO YOU NOT REALIZE THAT YOUR MASTER IS A GUY TOO?! You've been refering to your master as "he" and probably spent a large chunk of your life WITH said master, yet not once realized that he's a male at any point until Shuichi pointed it out... WHAT?! What did you THINK he was BEFORE this?! There's being guillable, and then there's being straight up stupid.

Second off, even IF this is supposed to make her look more adorkable and guillable and show that she'll believe anything she's told, I'm sorry but I'm not gonna view that explanation as okay when she has lines like these:

"The only good thing about males is that girls give birth to them!" "Yes! Degenerate males should definitely know their place!" "Don't you think it's weird for degenerate males to have Ultimate talents in the first place!? They're basically disgusting mud dolls! If those degenerates didn't have talents, this place would be an all-girls safe haven!"

Okay, Chabashira, shut the fuck up-

Honestly, face palm.

You know... I used to think Gonta was the lowest IQ character in V3. Now I don't. I'm pretty sure it's Tenko. I'm so sorry for ever thinking you were dumb, Gonta, never doubting you again king.

I feel like I'm losing my mind, writing this post and all the constant fact checking I gotta make. Honestly her freetime events were (and still are) a PAIN to sit through and the Class Trial Skill you get from 'em isn't really that useful either, but I can't make a post like this without checking them out, so here we are.

(Did I forget to mention that she says that she'll only touch Saihara if he gets a sex change?)

I feel like I made this point clear though, it's gonna get a little TOO long if I keep going about this point. So yeah, that's 50% of Chabashira's character, let's move on to the other 50%

POINT TWO: WHATCHA DOIN WITH YUMENO OVER THERE

Now that we've got the elephant in the room outta the way, let's move on to the OTHER thing Chabashira's most known for:

Simping for Himiko Yumeno. Cuz we just gotta have at least one hardcore simp character in these Danganronpa games.

Much like Fukawa for Togami and Kazuichi for Sonia, Chabashira simps for Yumeno just as hard as those two. The only two differences are that Chabashira dies and the other two simps don't, and I kinda like the other two simps.

Kazuichi at least had other things going on with him when he wasn't thirsting over the princess (like being a bro for Hinata, a much better Hagakure than OG Hagakure and his freetime events not making me want to rip my hair out), and Fukawa won me over in Ultra Despair Girls.

At least Chabashira dying helped Himiko's character development, and Himiko's one of my favs from the game so it did what it was supposed to do. But I felt more for Himiko than I did for Tenko, tbh. And up until Chapter 3, her crush on Himiko was kinda... well uh...

Yeah.

Still not as cringe as Fukawa's fantasies in UDG, but still. And the thing is, the game wants me to think Tenko's simping isn't that creepy, but in chapters 1 and 2, Yumeno shows almost no interest at all. It's only in Chapter 3 that Himiko actually gives Tenko the time of day, and that was the scene before Tenko dies.

At least the games Fukawa and Kazuichi were in didn't make their respective simping as anything other than a quick gag, if anything the game poked fun at them for it. With Chabashira, I'm supposed to NOT do the same.

So in Chapter 3 they were like "oh wait, we actually need to make Chabashira more likable so her death affects Yumeno", so they made her like less of a creep for that one chapter. Also, I have heard from some posts way back (I think I saw 'em sometime before 2020) that Chabashira "sacrificed herself for Himiko"?? Which... no. I don't see how that could've worked.

Point one, she was just offering herself as a medium so Himiko could say bye to Yonaga. Chabashira thought that if Himiko had been the medium, then she couldn't have spoken to Yonaga. That's why she offered herself to be inside that cage instead. That was all there was to it, Chabashira's final act of kindness (and also VERY OBVIOUS red flag that might as well had said "Chabashira's gonna die") before she got seesawed by Shinguji.

Which brings me to point two, HOW would Chabashira have known that Shinguji was planning a murder right then and there? Sure, she hates men with a passion and that COULD'VE have made her assumed the worst of him, but she's definitely NOT the smartest person around and absolutely had NO WAY of knowing about Shinguji's "incest serial killer" tendencies at any point. She's already been see-sawed by the time he reveals his true nature to the others.

The only way I can think of is if she somehow had his motive video from Chapter 2, but the game never brings up that something like that had happened. Chabashira never shows any increased hostility towards Shinguji, she treats him the same as she treats every other male character. So no, Chabashira's death was not a sacrifice, and even though I haven't heard that theory in years, I figured I should mention it.

Long story short: Himiko's too good for you, you're not good enough for her, Chabashira.

POINT NO.3 - SHE HAS THE UGLIEST SPRITES IN THE GAME

Okay, this one's just a minor nitpick for the sake of being petty, but my god, Chabashira has some of the ugliest sprites in the entire game. Not in the unsettling or funny sense, just plainly ugly.

To give a comparison and show you what I mean:

This sprite of Ouma is terrifying. The first time I saw it, I was legit scared.

THIS Chabashira sprite is UGLY. Not fear inducing ugly, not comedically ugly like that one Kazuichi sprite, just plain ugly.

This is the sprite most likely to be used when she looks down on men, so just for that, minus 50 points.

And If I remember correctly (and if not, imma take the L and let myself be informed) showcasing this sprite of Chabashira led to the "I hope Tenko dies" thing before the game came out.

CONCLUSION - I DONT LIKE CHU TENKO

And that about wraps it up. It took me a week to write this, it's so long. I tried to like Tenko at times, but I just couldn't do it, sorry folks.
