Ruhn couldn’t think about that. Because if he did, he might crumble. Lidia Cervos was the Hind. She had murdered Sofie Renast and countless others. She was a monster, and her seamless, perfect portrayal of the hardened Ophion agent that he had been able to soften was just another example of her unending cruelty. It was safest - for his heart and for all of Midgard - for him to remember that.

The alternative - that she was continuing to play her part to perfection while still finding a way to protect him - would be far too much to bear. To think that she would fling herself at the male she despised. Who had hurt her. That she would use her body as a shield against his sadism…

Henry took his darkness for granted. He’d lived in for so long, learnt its presence. He grew up in it, was moulded by it, memorised it so that he knew it as well as he knew the back of his hand. He thought he could take Alex’s light, venture into it for a while, swim in it, experience it, find joy in it and somehow avoid being blinded.

Now, he’s a marooned man in a desert, desperately searching for reprieve from the scorching heat, and the darkness calls him back to it like a siren song.

"What's wrong with her?" Hailey asked, disturbed at the sight of her girlfriend half-conscious, breathing labored even with the oxygen mask over her face.

"They're dying." Caitlin replied. "With the Speed Force gone, the Negative Speed Force doesn't have anything to feed from. Since it's intrinsically tied to her, in a simple way to put it, she's suffocating,"

"There's nothing you can do?" Hailey squeezed Siv's hand. Siv squeezed back weakly.

"Not yet. Barry and Cisco are working on a way to bring back the Speed Force, but if they don't find a way..."

"The Negative Speed Force will die, and Siv with it." Hailey nodded. "I understand."

"I'm so sorry, Agent Laurence." Caitlin said. "I think it's best if you prepare to say your goodbyes now. I don't think they have much time left."

Hailey grit her teeth, forcing back tears. "Thank you for all you've done, Dr. Snow. I wish there was more you could do, but I understand that all this is way out of your field of study."

Caitlin nodded. "I'll leave you two alone."

Hailey scooted closer to Siv's bed once the door clicked shut, squeezing her girlfriend's hand once again. "Hey, Siv."

Siv opened their eyes slowly, eyebrows pinched in obvious pain. Siv reached up, weakly brushing her fingers against Hailey's jaw.

"You heard all that, didn't you?" Hailey asked. Siv nodded. "I wish there was something I could do, but... I'm sorry. I don't know how to resurrect a space god."

Siv chuckled, the short laugh soon turning into a coughing fit. Hailey patted them on the back, rubbing circles on the back of their neck until it passed.

"You okay?" Hailey looked at Siv in obvious concern. Siv nodded, reaching up and pulling down the oxygen mask. "Don't, Siv. You'll just make yourself sicker."

"You heard her. I'm going to die anyway." Siv groaned. "And to answer your question, I'm as fine as I could be-" Siv began to cough again, this time, a small amount of blood tinging the corners of her lips red. "-considering the circumstances."

"You're so strong." Hailey's eyes burned, her emotions physically pushing through in the form of tears that leaked from her eyes. "You can do this."

"No, Hailes." Siv shook her head. "I... I don't think I'm coming back from this one. I'm so sorry. For everything. I've fucked up so much. I wish-" Siv began to cough again, more blood spilling down her face. "-I wish I could go back, do it all again."

"Shhh, shhh, it's okay." Hailey moved onto Siv's bed, placing her girlfriend's head in her lap. "It's okay. I understand. You don't have to worry about that. Not anymore."

"Please, Hailes." Siv squeezed Hailey's hand. "You have to keep going. Promise me that. When I'm gone, you gotta keep going. Find someone else, someone who actually deserves you. Promise me that."

"If you die, sure." Hailey shook her head. "But you're not going to. You can't give up. Not yet."

"I'm sorry." Siv's eyes fluttered shut. "For everything."

"Siv, no." Hailey gripped Siv's shoulders. "You have to keep going. You do not get to give up now! You have to fight. Fight for me. Fight for us, please. Don't let this be the end." Hailey took a deep breath. "Please."

I saw a video today that said, “It’s very uncomfortable as an adult when your friend starts to date somebody who sucks, and you’re all looking at each other going ‘Guys, if this is the person who makes them happy…I think collectively as a unit we can agree that we would rather see them sad. So what's the plan?’”

And immediately went: modern Steddie AU were Steve dates his high school friend Tommy and everyone is tearing their hair out over how awful he’s being treated.

Ft. the Party, led by Dustin, hounding Eddie “I could get a man in a SECOND, I just CHOOSE not to date” Munson for help

However:

Eddie is mostly thinking the entire thing is a joke (King Steve and Tommy Hagan? Gay? Together?? Nice try Henderson.) until he runs into Robin. She laments that yeah, they’re bi, but more importantly, Tommy is fucking awful and Steve refuses to see it.

2. Eddie, maybe, kind of, still has a crush on Steve ("Stop laughing Gareth, everyone has--had! Had a crush on him!") and the guy was never THAT bad in high school---but Tommy Hagan definitely was and a little revenge would be fun.

and finally;

3. Instead of going with the kids' well intentioned but very misguided “Let’s get Eddie to Steal Steve” plan, Eddie meets up with the Robin/Nancy/Jonathan/Argyle/Chrissy dream team to figure out how to prove to Steve that Tommy is horrible.

Bonus: Robin and Nancy come up with a full proof multi step plan that involves Eddie pissing off Tommy in ways that look completely innocent. The hope is that Steve will see how controlling and unreasonable Tommy is, and break it off.

This hurts no one and just highlights to Steve Tommy's behavior.

Of course, Eddie goes off the rails immediately upon meeting Steve.

Instead of following The Plan, he, with the kids permission and help, gets Tommy to get blow up about THEM.

This is far more successful.

Bonus x2: A large amount of shenanigan's with the kids vs Tommy are involved. As is a scene were Steve breaks down and admits he knows Tommy is terrible, but Tommy puts up with him and Steve "knows how he is."

Eddie goes home, prints out a picture of Tommy and throws cheap ren fair daggers at it for at least three solid hours while he tries to think up ways to prove to Steve Harrington that his parents are wrong, hes very lovable actually.

In fact Eddie would very much like a shot at trying it out, thanks!

(It is also, inevitably, successful.)

stop bc I adore the moment in dinluke fics where din is like "i need to make a stop on tatooine" and luke is like "cool" and has a bunch of sad feelings about it bc he grew up there and it used to be home. and then luke goes "why are we going to jabba the hutt's place??" And din is like "oh my friend runs it now" and maybe luke will mention that leia killed that slimy fuck and din will go "oh em gee ur sister is THEE huttslayer???" and luke will be all smug like "yup" then din leads luke into the palace, very unaware of the shitshow he's about to unleash. before this man can even blink, luke and boba are hissing at each other with their weapons out and luke is like "i thought this fucker was dead??" And boba is like "u thought wrong bitch" and luke will feel betrayed for a bit and get on din's ass like "why the fuck didn't u tell me u were apparently besties with boba fucking fett??" and poor din is just like "i didn't even know u were famous why would i know y'all had beef??" then the plot moves forward.
