in my wild hunt post I theorized that High King Fionn wasn't dead but was sleeping because Sarah loves to take inspo from the myths and in myths it says that he is sleeping in a cave.

According to the most popular account of Fionn's death, he is not dead at all, rather, he sleeps in a cave, surrounded by the Fianna. One day he will awake and defend Ireland in the hour of her greatest need. In one account, it is said that he will arise when the Dord Fiann, the hunting horn of the Fianna, is sounded three times, and he will be as strong and as well as he ever was.

and after hofas and what we learned about his "death" I went to find more. (that research paper about fionn's death)

we have different version's of his supposed death in myths.

This slight text unites three elements that recur, singly or in combination, in virtually all accounts of Finn's death; hence it could be argued that most versions of the death of Finn descend from the Aided Finn tradition. These are: 1.the leap (that is, Finn's death occurred when he failed to complete a jump across a stretch of water); 2.the Luigne (that is, the Luigne Temra were involved in Finn's death, often decapitating him); 3.the drink (that is, the act of drinking from an adarc or of drinking a poisoned drink caused or hastened Finn's death).92

when you take a look at the leap cause...it involves a fairy lover.

In these two accounts, although the depth of detail and the source length are different, the same narrative core is to be found: Finn trysts with the fairy lover of a character called Taoileachd mac Chuiligeadan. When Taoileachd discovers this, rather than having the two come to blows, the fairy lover makes a judgment that whoever best performs a leap will be the man she chooses. Both accomplish the forward leap and Taoileachd then challenges Finn to make the leap back. Taoileachd accomplishes the leap but Finn does not. Finn falls into the lake whereupon Taoileachd decapitates him.

Theia was Fionn's lover.

My mother and father, Fionn, had kept their love a secret through the years, knowing the Daglan would find it amusing to tear them apart if they learned of the affair. But they were able to meet in secret—and to plan their uprising.(hofas)

and there is that his age played a role in his death.

Finn's death either singly or in smaller groups, e.g. that his death occurred as a consequence of or was closely associated with a leap, that he was decapitated, that he died at a river or other body of water, and that his age played a role in the event.

Theia killed fionn bc she thought the right to rule was hers and fionn was getting old.

After centuries with an empty womb, my mother bore both my sister and me within a span of five years. My father was fading by then—he was centuries older than my mother. But Fionn did not consider my mother a worthy successor. The crown should go to the eldest child, he said—to my sister, Helena. It was time, he thought, for a new generation to lead. It did not sit well with my mother, or with many of those in her court— especially her general, Pelias. He agreed with my mother that Helena was too young to inherit our father’s throne. But my mother was still in her prime. Still ripe with power, and it was clear that she’d been blessed by the gods themselves, since she had been gifted children at long last.(hofas)

and his death by a body of water.

The image shifted to some sort of marsh—a bog. Fionn rode a horse between the islands of grass, bow at the ready as he ducked beneath trees in bloom. My parents often went hunting in the vast slice of land the Daglan had kept for their private game park, where they had crafted terrible monsters to serve as worthy prey. It was there that he met his death. A dark-haired, pale creature that could have been the relative of the nøkk in Jesiba’s gallery dragged a bound and gagged Fionn into the inky depths of the bog, the once-proud king screaming as he went under. Horror rooted Bryce to the spot. Theia and Pelias stood at the water’s edge, faces impassive. Petals began falling from the trees. Leaves with them. Birds took flight. As if sudden winter gripped the bog. As if the land had died with its king.(hofas)

so as you can see...it fits well with how fionn "died" in the myths to how it is described in the book. He died bc of a fairy lover, in a body of water.

now coming back to his "not being dead"

supposedly fionn is buried atop a mountain and there are stones.

'Shee-Mór and Shee-Beag' (D1) says that Finn is buried atop a mountain, this time Shee Beag in Co. Limerick, where a giant lived and in which giants throwing stones feature, while 'Old Irish Tales/Cavan1' (D19) informs us that Finn is supposedly buried under a stone on Ardkill Mountain, but because 'he is supposed to have been buried under so many stones that it is hard to say which he is buried under.'

I theorized in my wild hunt post that it could be Ramiel and that's why it was sacred to them. and I found this.

The location of the grave is sometimes combined with a feature of the landscape known as Suidhe Finn or Seefin, a placename for a hill or high ground in which hunting is usually good; such sites are readily associated with Finn, the fían, and their hunting exploits in literature and folklore.70 Association of elevated places called Suidhe Finn may have led to the association of further hills and mountains with the fían, as we see above with Murmod hill, or the stone features which were easily incorporated into giant lore may have been the original reason for such associations. Both could have easily played a role in these places becoming associated with Finn's grave.

hunting? blood rite? fianna the warriors of fionn in myths is also connected with a rite.

Scholars believe the fian was a rite of passage into manhood, and have linked fianna with similar young warrior bands in other early European cultures.

and this is blood rite?

“What’s the Blood Rite?” “What it sounds like.” He rubbed his neck. “When an Illyrian warrior comes into his full power, usually in his twenties, he has to go through the Blood Rite before he can qualify as a full warrior and adult. Would-be warriors from every clan and village get sent in, usually three or four from each—all of them scattered across an area in the Illyrian Mountains. We’re left there for a week with two goals: survival, and making it to Ramiel.”(acosf)

A silly little idea but what if reader is asleep in the rec room because she's just so exhausted after mission days ago? And it's not just sleeping, you're literally hibernating. The four men have to check everywhere cause you're not in your room. First is Soap who find you. When he saw you're sleeping peacefully in sitting position on the couch (glad Price has changed that old dusty couch with the new one), he can't help but also feel sleepy, especially seeing how relaxed you are. So instead he joins in sleeping with you on your left side.

The next is Gaz who's been busy finding Soap and need his assistance. He also notices he hasn't met you since morning. When he found both of you snoring in the rec room, he smiled to himself and let the exhaustion take control over him. He's just gonna rest his eyes a bit okay. Now, he sits on your right side and close his eyes.

Ghost has been grumbling because the two sergeants now are absent in rookie's training. He immediately checked the rec room and what greeted him was something that made his heart warmed a bit. He found you, Soap and Gaz are snoring on the couch. Soap's on your left, his head leaning on your smaller shoulder. You're in the middle and Ghost just realized how youthful you're actually looking without too much stress or mental burden when you sleep. Gaz is on your right, his left arm tangles with yours. Ghost smiles behind his mask, pulling out his phone from pocket and snapping at least 10 pictures of you sleeping together. He can use this for the next threat or blackmail (but actually, he saves it for himself because you're just so adorable sleeping together).

As Ghost's about to flee from there, Price enter and sees the whole scene. He looks at Ghost with hint of amusement and shakes his head a bit. He gets out of the room right after telling him "Wake them up in 15 minutes" and Ghost nods.

Each Other’s Shelter

“Bonnie?”

Soap opens the door to the rec room. He has been finding you, yet almost dug through the whole base, the last place he expects you will be in is the rec room. You aren’t someone who would fall asleep easily already, let alone sleeping outside your room. So when he sees your figure, sitting on the couch in a weird position that he doubts how you’re able to sleep like a bear hibernating and unbothered by all the noises, he’s sort of confused and amused at the same time.

He walks towards you, casting a shadow on your figure when he stands in front of you. You look so serene and young, your usual frown and stress-included expression vanishes when you’re deep in your sweet dreams.

“Bonnie?” He whispers again as he kneels.

You still don’t move or react even a bit, and he laughs quietly at your slightly agape mouth.

The mission you guys just completed a few days ago must have exhausted you to your limit, but he loves to see you like this, wandering in your own dreams without the mundane burden on your shoulders.

Soap lets out a big yawn which even surprises him, he thought he was quite energetic a few minutes ago, but he wouldn’t complain about the spell you secretly cast on him with your peaceful presence.

A short nap won’t kill him, right? He contemplates as he takes a seat on your left side, letting your bodies squeeze together that the warmth is flowing between, and drifts into the dream along you.

Gaz asks almost everyone whether they saw Soap or not, he really needs some help from the sergeant right now, and even you have not been seen since the morning, like you two just disappear from the base.

He almost starts forming the conspiracy theory that you two are playing hide and seek together and the winner will get the excessive one-slice cake stored in the fridge.

He’s feeling tired from the sore muscles and the lack of rest after the grueling mission. The whole team just straight back to work after dealing with those bullshits, he’s worn out, and surely you and Soap are the same as him when he enters the rec room and sees you snuggling on the couch.

Soap leans his head on your smaller shoulder compared to the team, and seems like you unconsciously scoot yourself to seek the heat beside you, as your head angles towards Soap’s too.

A little tranquil haven built by you two inviting him to join with its magically soothing comfort.

Just going to rest his eyes for a while, the papers can wait.

Telling himself and chuckling at your suddenly stuttered tiny snores, he sinks into the couch beside you.

Gaz smiles when he imagines you shooting daggers at him when he laughs at you for your adorable snores later, and lets the rest he longs for cocoon him from the chaotic world.

When one of the recruits asks him about his sergeants since they’ve been waiting for them and their training, but neither Gaz nor Soap shows up, Ghost just sighs and waves the recruit off, and goes on his way to search the little dorks.

He doesn’t stop and guess where they will be, he just heads to the rec room. His instincts and years with his teammates instruct him the whereabouts of them.

What Ghost doesn’t expect is you’re with them too, and he takes in the scene unfolding in front of him, the heartwarming vibes filling the room make him soften and curl the corner of his lips under his mask.

When was the last time he felt such overwhelmed by tenderness that his bad temper was conciliated? He lost count of it, but he knew only his team and his love could provide him with this relief.

He fishes out his phone and snapping you cuddling together like newborn bear babies. The photos capture the sight and freeze the gentleness wonderfully, from how you and Soap tilt towards each other, to the way your arm tangles with Gaz’s, fingers intertwined tightly like you are afraid to let go.

Ghost watches the exhaustion brings all of you to somewhere without having to worry. Of course he notices Gaz hits his limits after the mission even though he tries to hide it, and Soap is unaware of the need for rest which’s deep down his heart. You force yourself to keep going with tiredness chaining your ankles, ending up adding wrinkles in your brow these days. Now the vivid contrast reminds him how youthful you actually look, and he hopes the innocence can stay on your beautiful face longer.

Stepping backward in order to leave, Ghost halts when he hears the low huffs of laughter coming from behind.

“Price.” He calls the man narrowing his eyes and obviously enjoying what’s happening in the rec room just like him, and shakes his head feigning a resigned attitude. No words are exchanged between them, as they just want to admire the undisturbed view in silence.

“Wake them up in 15 minutes.” Ghost feels the reassured pat on his shoulder before the Captain exits the room with a lighter mood.

His eyes trail at Price’s figure until it becomes a dot from the distance, then turns back to the three of you still napping on the same spot without stirring.

Glancing at his watch to remind himself to wake up all of you, Ghost guesses 5 more minutes is acceptable, and he knows Price will agree with him.

Dawn and Lilia murmured something above you before you felt a kiss placed upon your shoulder.

From the corner of your eye, you saw Dawn leave the room.

“Do you want to talk about it?”

“In a bit,” your voiced wavered.

Lilia tucked you closer into him.

You didn’t know when you dozed off, but the gentle shake from Dawn woke you.

“Drink this Love, it’ll help you sleep better.”

Warm milk and honey, the combination had you smiling.

Something the Lilia in the future loved to make for his boys. You could recall Lilia proclaiming in several of his stories about how this very drink would put the toughest and most stubborn children to sleep.

The memories of your dream came back. You closed your eyes before looking at your husbands. Their worried expressions had you spilling every detail you could remember.

By the end, you felt more tired than ever but more comforted as well.

Your husbands hugged you as they reassured you with their words.

“We’ll take Silver and Malleus from my sister’s tomorrow and have a picnic in the meadow. You’ll see first hand that your dreams are just that, dreams and nothing more.”

“You’re not allowed to cook, Lilia.”

“Hey! I can make simple sandwiches.”

“If you ever want our son back from your sister and Malleus, you’ll never utter those words in front of them.”

Their banter lulled you to sleep.

What better way to be loved then to be in the middle of two such loving souls?

Who cherished you and their family endlessly like the number of stars in the sky.

With them, you would know a True Happy Ending.

Am I implying something with the three of them home alone without Silver?? Maybe. Maybe not. Lolol ☺️💞

But also, I could have changed the whole atmosphere and turned it angsty/horrific with an added line or two but I didn’t.

Okay so morbid fun fact (that I think most people know but for those who don’t) that nursery rhyme that the last two eps “ashes, ashes” and “all fall down” are named after, is actually thought to be about the plague so maybe someone gets sick??

Or are they taking the literal meaning and the ashes is some big fire and all fall down is like all the characters going through something or being really injured?

Also I grew up in Britain so only knew the A-tishoo, A-tishoo version so had to look up where the ashes version comes in and found this interesting tidbit- “The line Ashes, Ashes in colonial versions of the rhyme is claimed to refer variously to cremation of the bodies, the burning of victims' houses, or blackening of their skin”

So my going theory IS someone’s place burning down (kill Buck’s apartment 2024🫡), or they respond to a very large fire and something goes wrong, or its a reference to Bobbys arc abt his family that seems to be coming up soon

Tech is NOT Dead - A Theory

Okay before I go MIA in order not to kms, I need to put my theory out there.

Maybe I'm just coping here in my delusions of grandure, but I don't think Tech is actually dead. They're going to Winter Soldier his ass. Why? Because his death was lowkey out of pocket. Why did they dedicate the whole season to him, give him a love interest, character development, and make him a canonical character with asd (in other words, be fantastic representation for a community that rarely gets any), just kill him off? It's not adding up. That's waaay too much effort just to throw it all away like that. And why did Dr. Doofenshmirtz (Hemlock) feel the need to confirm his "death" by showing the goggles when both the batch and we, the viewers, saw him "die." That's suspicious as hell, if you ask me. I'm thinking they recovered him and brought his ass to Tantiss.

If Hunter can fall and break his ass but still survive, then so can Tech. NO BODY, NO PROOF.

Part 2 theories

So like everyone I have been brain rotting over part one and the trailer for part 2! I am firmly in the living for the season camp, although would never so no to more Polin lol.

As an anxious girlie (who is equal parts dreading and excited for the LW fallout) that preview gave me heart palpitation's 🫡. So I have been scouring all four corners of the web for spoilers and I have a theory for part 2, leave now to not be spoiled!

I don’t think this clip from the promo is the mirror scene and they are faking us out…. Shocking I know.

So we also see this dress here:

Which some internet sources report is from episode 5 when Colin has a major bust up with Portia and then he takes Pen to see their new house. At which Pen is very emotional because nobody has ever stood up for her before and they ahem… finish what they started in the carriage. 😱😱

Also before anyone says I know the hair is different, however you show me anyone who’s hair stays perfectly in place after having their shit rocked by their sexy pirate fiancé who just ripped ya mum a new one.

This is all supposedly before their wedding and before Colin discovers LW and I don’t think the mirror scene will happen before this point. Which would also make sense as the most anticipated scene I don’t think Netflix would want to spoil it in the trailers, baring maybe the carriage scene which was also noticeably absent from all P1 promo (maybe even more anticipated seeing as it doesn’t happen in the book and is only referenced as boob man Colin’s fantasy (can you blame him)). As well as the connotations of what the mirror scene represents, it doesn’t make narrative sense to put it before she reveals every part of herself to him and he reaffirms that he adores every part of her. At the very least I am manifesting this because I’ll cry if it is before 🙃.

So that being said I think this is a fake out showing their first time in their new home in ep 5 that ISNT the mirror scene which would come in maybe ep 7 or 8 following LW Fallout.

So thanks for coming to my ted talk or better described as a theorising ramble so I don’t loose my actual marbles over the next 4 weeks (I’m at a big old age of 8 and twenty and I can’t be doing with this stress hun okay I have a full time job and responsibilities, I can’t be obsessing like I’m 16 again).

after cheating on you, wonbin thought that that’d be it.

never in his life did he envision himself offering his commitment to you after you moved on (in theory).

“…did you seriously cheat on me while i was sleeping?”

you squinted, observing the enigmatic creature in front of you. the two of you were seated comfortably on your bed, facing one another fiercely with contrasting expressions. wonbin’s expression was nonchalant.

like cheating on his partner was a completely normal and reasonable thing to do. you could immediately tell that he didn’t care, and that made you sick to your stomach—not with sadness, but with pure malice.

“last night? yeah.”

you were seething with rage.

your expression was calm with a poisonous gaze as you observed him in all his slyness.

“what do you mean by that..?”

you inquired, leaning in ever so slightly to let his words flow through your mind and settle.

“including you, i’ve taken like, seven people’s virginities since we’ve started dating.”

he admitted, appearing indifferent—to a chilling degree—at his direct assertion.

wonbin really didn’t care, did he?

you thought back to all the times in your relationship with wonbin. you remembered every date you had, every post, every text, and you could feel it all fall apart.

you could feel all of this land on you.

“ok, so can you get out of my fucking house now?”

the corner of wonbin’s lips twitched upwards.

you hated it. you hated that you weren’t sure if you felt like crying because you wanted to strangle him or because he didn’t look like he cared at all about you.

about all that time you’d spent together.

it was all thrown away, all those memories and emotions being a bunch of bullshit.

“yeah.”

wonbin got up, taking his things and casually walking to his car. as you watched his back get more and more distant, you fought everything in you to push down the lump in your throat and the tears welling up in your eyes. as you heard your breath stutter, faint sniffling, and wonbin’s car fading away, you felt your face heat up and your cheeks dampen with your tears.

just how much of your time did he waste..?

it hadn’t taken you and wonbin very long to find other people—though, saying the feelings were genuine would be anything but accurate.

while wonbin was insistent on asserting his love life (mostly the sex part) on his public story, you opted for the alternative, instead, posting cheesy posts about your new lover.

whether it was real or not was hard to discern, though, you were adamant on making it seem realistic.

just to piss wonbin off.

needless to say, it’d worked.

it irked wonbin, it really did. he didn’t like that you pretended like you never blushed when he’d enter the room you were in, he didn’t like that you acted like you never loved him, he hated how quickly you’d moved onto someone who was so subpar compared to him.

obviously, he was better, but it irked him that you didn’t see that. it was as if wonbin, the man who caught everyone’s eye was not attractive enough for you to miss.

and it pissed him off.

wonbin’s relationship was flawed too. this, he knew. by technical standards, it barely counted as one, moreso fitting a haphazard (at best) attempt at a committed friends with benefits relationship. clearly, his moral footing had been compromised, considering that even in this sort of relationship, where they were both okay with sleeping with others, he still couldn’t contain the urges to cheat.

it was pathetic too, like he was falling right into the palms of your hands even though it was supposed to be the other way around.

he hated the way you were making him feel.

wonbin stared blankly at his phone screen, thinking less than deeply about the consequences of his actions.

he wished he could say he felt bad, but he’d be lying. not when he was this desperate for your attention.

it only took so long before you broke up with your rebound, the guilt of playing with someone like that eating at you.

you were better than this; you weren’t like wonbin.

eventually, the news had reached wonbin (rather quickly). a brow of yours furrowed, irritated that wonbin still refused to leave you alone. when you saw the notification he’d sent, you audibly gasped, evidently not prepared for what he’d said.

your eyes widened, mildly shocked that he was willing to let go of his unapologetic and arrogant demeanor to sleep with you. it was a first, which was an honor, but it sounded rather silly to think that wonbin ever had a chance of getting you back after what he did.

besides, those feelings for wonbin weren’t real, why would you waste your time on him?

he’d never learn to actually love you.

I'm not sure I'm entirely convinced but smashing theory as usual pika 🫡✨️ Is it okay if I ramble about a few misgivings I have? It's a long one, sorry! but there are multiple points I want to mention as assisting ideas

First, I still think that a 1v1 setting battle seems likelier than a 2v2 (bkdk duo vs shigAFO) - since we already had a bkdk duo in the movie ending, and Hori *did* say after that he had a different thing in mind for the actual ending (which I'm not sure should be a classic shounen "Battle of The End" actually, but wth we have been in this war fo so long now? More than a year! it may as well "end" in its conclusion ig). In which case I think we'd agree that 1-to-1 pvps would very likely feature Izuku & Shigaraki and Katsuki & AFO. Speaking of which: I also still think kacchan parallels and juxtaposes moreso with AFO than Shigaraki, so it might make more sense for him to "inherit" AM's struggle in this way, as a battle with the "Big Bad" AFO - not to mention it'd be another extremely cool twist to have the boy who ended AM save him by winning the fight, imo. I'm not sure how much of that metaphorical oomph would transfer to him fighting with "Stray Lamb" Shigaraki/Tenko...

In any case lots of people seem to support the 2v2 option. I understand that the most popular cases are: Katsuki "saving" Tenko by "winning" the fight. Izuku "winning" the battle with AFO to "save" the world. But then, I think the story'd be disregarding Izuku's wish to save Tenko, first spoken of in the vestige realm, which I don't believe is quite likely. We had so many breadcrumbs leading up to Izuku asking "Is Tenko still there?", so I still think a 1v1 and Izuku vs Tenko would make more sense.

I suppose people still want to see Katsuki's "save to win" in this final battle? He has always been a character that has struggled and fought internally with himself foremost - contrasting the mostly external opposition and fights that matured or broke other character's beliefs/ideals. Katsuki is destined to "Win Over His Self", yes? I'd argue he already has done that, (nailed it actually, right in the kokoro) 🎯 😅 which is why I don't really think he has to show it again, that he has learned to "win by saving/save to win". Which is another readon why I think a showdown with Tenko is kinda unnecessary

Meanwhile, I'd argue we haven't seen Izuku's "save by winning/win to save" quite yet, not with Katsuki's grandeur, in any case. I'd argue he finally has the opportunity to do this with Tenko's fight. And I'd think that since OFA is now a "power to save" rather than a power "to defeat AFO", (after class A's intervention and welcome intrusion into that), and since I think Izuku might be the one doing the "saving" for Tenko, it'd make sense for all of OFA's vestiges to bear witness to that "saving", to their "new purpose", if you will, and I think AM's vestige should be included in that if he's truly a part of OFA.

.... If, by chance he's a different component to OFA, like maybe something that serves only as a power maximizing "coefficient" rather than a full blown "variable" in OFA's power "equation"? Then yeah, him leaving OFA might make Izuku slightly less powerful but would make more sense in terms of Katsuki's arc so far. After this battle I doubt Izuku is gonna need that power excess anyway. It'd also make sure he can't become the Symbol of Peace powerhouse on his own and let him play on a more equal field with his peers, which is best fir his sacrificing mentality. And I do think that Katsuki could do with at least the "gaze" and "support" of the mentor Izuku has had 95% of to himself so far...

Welp, that's that! Sorry I even went into a math analogy there 😳 If you've read so far thanks for bearing with me!!!

I like you. I like your thought process. I like your courtesy in explaining yourself even when we disagree. I want to emphasize all of that because I think your essay here is WORTHY of being challenged. Or rather perhaps it's that I want you to challenge my thoughts, which I hope are also worthy.

(And please bear with me here, my brain fog is rearing its ugly head today.)

1. The problem with 1v1s:

Let me step away from the predictions for a moment with this point. Will Horikoshi ultimately go with a 1v1? He could. I actually have no way of knowing. But I would like to explain why I think it would be a mistake for him to do so. This has nothing to do with Heroes Rising and everything to do with the MHA manga canon.

MHA the story has spent so. much. time. emphasizing how necessary teamwork is, how going alone is not feasible, how everyone has limits. It's not just a platitude it throws around occasionally because it has to. Entire arcs are structured around this idea. Hell, trimesters and curricula in-universe are built upon this lesson. And the story is called "My Hero Academia." How is this a story about Izuku's hero academia if the primary lesson his hero academia taught him gets eschewed at the end? What was ultimately learned if not this?

For Horikoshi to turn his back on this moral, for Horikoshi to go with the standard shounen formula ending when he has famously twisted such tropes in the past, would be to betray his entire story. This story about how society has perverted the ideas of heroes and villains to avoid personal responsibility and stifle social progress ONLY to see the light and view heroes and villains as humans DEPENDS on exalting the virtues of cooperation, of empathizing with one's fellow humans, of desiring everyone to come together, and of contributing to that goal as a piece of the whole. No one is alone. There is always hope. And people are given that hope by having it ignited in their hearts by others (by the symbol of All Might, in many cases).

Remember, "this is the story of how we all became the greatest heroes."

And I do believe Horikoshi wants to maintain this moral as best he can. This final arc has showcased that. Even in the battles we've seen concluded now, while the primary focus may have been on one person's conviction (Shouji's, Mina's, Shouto's, Ochako's), that conviction was backed up and magnified by another person (Kouda, Kirishima, Iida, Tsuyu). And you'll note that some "fought" and some did not. Some played supporting roles or contributed with non-combat assistance (speed or negotiation, perhaps). So at the very, very least, if we end on a 1v1 fight between Izuku and Tomura, Katsuki must support Izuku's conviction to save Tenko in some vital way that tips the scales in Izuku's favor.

The question is, has this already happened?

One might argue it has, that Katsuki's death and the efforts by others to save him have had a clear effect on Tomura. Katsuki's death was the catalyst that allowed Tenko to swallow AFO's ego and regain control of himself.

But we could also argue that, while this potentially contributes to Tenko's salvation, it is NOT an example of Katsuki sharing in Izuku's conviction (that of saving villains). And I argue that this much is a REQUIREMENT.

That said, there MAY be another example that could be construed as Katsuki sharing in Izuku's conviction.

We REALLY don't talk about chapter 358 enough. It may turn out to be a crucial hint about how future events play out.

That said, it's debatable on whether this is truly the same conviction Izuku professes or if it's just the lesson Katsuki has learned, in which case...

Would that not beg for a moment where Izuku backs Katsuki's conviction up, too?

So, sure, you may get your 1v1, but I'm willing to bet there will be enough of Katsuki present in it to construe the "1v1" as otherwise :P

2. The idea that Katsuki parallels AFO more than he does Shigaraki:

At the risk of sounding pedantic, I want to earnestly, powerfully emphasize the idea that this is not a competition: everyone parallels everyone. I have showcased many times how many ways in which Izuku and AFO parallel each other, it's not just Katsuki and Tomura.

But note how this is really possible with ANY TWO CHARACTERS in the whole series. They all parallel each other. It's because everyone's learning the same lessons.

And parallels don't necessarily make for a good 1v1. I don't really think about the parallels that much in terms of setting up FIGHTS. Most "fights" in MHA are barely fights at all. They're conversations, arguments, debates, just sometimes with some action in the middle.

What I really expect from these parallels is a resolution. Some sort of reckoning. Anything at all really. Someone challenging someone, someone talking to someone, someone reaching out for someone. It doesn't matter who does what in most cases, because I expect all four to interact.

3. "I understand that the most popular cases are: Katsuki "saving" Tenko by "winning" the fight. Izuku "winning" the battle with AFO to "save" the world."

Yikes, are these really the most popular options? I hate them. I hate them so much. Can I offer some better ones?

What if Izuku fights Tomura long enough to subdue him and reaches Tenko's heart but can't physically reach out to save him, so Katsuki has to act as Izuku's extension to take Tomura's hand and save him?

What if Izuku fights to his last strength and saves Tomura (and maybe Baby AFO, who knows where that's going) but can't get all of them out of physical danger, so Katsuki is the one who gets them out?

Or maybe Izuku just can't save HIMSELF and Katsuki rescues him?

What if Katsuki reaches Tenko's heart through speech, through relating to him, and it disarms Tenko enough for Izuku to save him?

What if AFO and Izuku have a tug-o'-war over Tenko and Katsuki tips the scales? Or Katsuki AND All Might tip the scales?

What if Izuku fights Baby AFO (or it's something like another Dabi explosion situation) and Katsuki relates to AFO himself as a child and that disarms AFO enough for Izuku to save the day?

What if ANY of the above but add more Class 1-A and other villains to it? What if everyone holds hands to make a human chain to pull Tenko out of some AFO ego void and show him the world cares?

I can go on for days.

4. "We had so many breadcrumbs leading up to Izuku asking "Is Tenko still there?", so I still think a 1v1 and Izuku vs Tenko would make more sense."

But that's just it! Katsuki has breadcrumbs too!

It has been highlighted over and over and over again ad nauseam that Katsuki is a character who must become a hero who can see things from the villains' perspective and REACH OUT TO THEIR HEARTS. Katsuki even names Tomura as the person he intends to face down in the end!

(Of course, AFO fits the bill in many ways too. But like I said, I don't think it's gonna be clean-cut 1v1s, so there's opportunity for both Izuku and Katsuki to show what they're made of in this regard with BOTH villains.)

5. "Katsuki is destined to "Win Over His Self", yes? I'd argue he already has done that, (nailed it actually, right in the kokoro) 🎯 😅 which is why I don't really think he has to show it again, that he has learned to "win by saving/save to win"."

BUT HE DOES NEED TO SHOWCASE IT. OTHERWISE THIS IS JUST LIP SERVICE, BECAUSE NOTHING HAS HAPPENED SINCE HE SAID IT.

While you and I may believe he's already made it, Katsuki himself DOES NOT ACKNOWLEDGE THAT YET. He does not see himself as having surpassed All Might yet, and he believes that in order to do so he needs the help of others.

I mean, does it get louder than "Because saving people is how we win"????? He's set the terms for what his "win to save/save to win" looks like in the end!

I mean this super genuinely because I think you need to consider it: How was Izuku's victory over Overhaul NOT this in your eyes?

I think you need to be able to answer that question if you want to make such a claim. I think you CAN make the claim, mind you, but anyone you talk to about this will point to this moment in canon as their first question for you to address.

Until you can answer it, I have to argue that both Izuku and Katsuki have displayed some version of their "win to save/save to win" pieces before, but they have to now apply those pieces to this war where the stakes are astronomically higher.

Everything surrounding All Might's vestige is still very loosely defined and doesn't seem very final. I think it's totally possible there's a twist waiting for us in there.

this was supposed to be finished for day seven of valenfangs (pearl necklace and high heels) but it got away from me and now it’s just gonna be its own full fledged thing.

inspired by an ask @hekateinhell got about armand being a groupie for lestat, louis, marius, and daniel’s band. thought i’d take a stab at the concept 🫡

After that, Ally decided the best way to test this theory was to watch the show from the back, so they could easily exit and make their way out back towards the tour bus in hopes of seeing them before they left after the show.

She’d put a little bit of eyeliner on him and some lip gloss too. He didn’t really like how his curls kept sticking to his lips but it was all worth it when he caught the drummer’s eyes wandering to his mouth when they finally came outside.

“You want an autograph or something?” The drummer, Daniel, had asked him, pushing his shaggy, ashen blond hair out of his eyes. He was tall and lanky, and Armand could smell the sweat and cigarette smoke clinging to his clothes. He wore a faded t-shirt with the sleeves cut off, Armand could reach out and tug on his armpit hair if he wanted to.

And he did want to.

Shit, he didn’t bring anything for them to sign.

“I don’t have anything,” Armand says with a frown.

“Not to worry,” he hears a voice say behind him, making him jolt. It’s deep and lightly accented, though Armand can’t place exactly where it’s from.

He turns, only to find himself directly at eye level with a man’s sternum. He looks up and sees none other than the face of Marius de Romanus smiling serenely down at him, before he feels a large hand at the small of his back. “I’ve seen you at quite a few of our shows, why don’t you step onto the bus and we’ll find you something special, hm?”

Armand doesn’t know what to say, his brain firing on all cylinders as he desperately searches for Allesandra. He finds her a few feet away over by Lestat. She’s holding her t-shirt up to expose the black, lacy bra underneath, with Lestat signing her breast.

When she meets his eye she gives him a thumbs up, smiling wildly, and nodding enthusiastically at him.

“Okay,” he says.

“Perfect,” Marius replies, giving him a dazzling smile.

Pippa Fitz-Amobi, the girl who usually has her thoughts all organized and neatly cataloged in her brain? Yeah, well, she’s currently experiencing a major system malfunction. And by that, I mean her heart is doing this weird jittery dance, and her words are tripping over each other like clumsy puppies. ‘Okay, deep breaths, Pippa. You’ve faced serial killers, cryptic clues, and academic deadlines. Surely, confessing feelings for a girl can’t be that hard, right? ‘Wrong. So wrong.

One night, while dissecting a particularly baffling case, Pippa glances at you and realizes how captivating your eyes are. It’s not just the mystery that keeps her intrigued—it’s the girl sitting across from her. You frequent the same cozy coffee shop near campus. Pippa orders her usual black coffee, and you prefer a chai latte. One day, as you share a table, Pippa notices the way your fingers delicately hold the cup. The warmth of the drink contrasts with the chill in the air, and Pippa’s heart skips a beat. She wonders if it’s the girl or the caffeine causing her fluttery feelings.

During a lecture, Pippa catches your eye from across the room. The professor drones on about forensic evidence, but all Pippa can focus on is the curve of the your lips as you smile at something Jane from political science says. She wonders if you notice her too. Maybe it’s the way the your hair falls over your shoulder or the softness of your laughter. Pippa’s heart races, and she realizes that it’s not just academic interest anymore. And suddenly, it hits her like a rogue wave: She likes girls. A lot.

Her brain goes haywire. She imagines herself blurting it out mid-sentence to Cara: “Did you know that the mitochondria is the powerhouse of the cell? Also, I think I might be gay.”

Pippa tries to strike up a conversation. “Hey, um, have you read the latest research on cold cases? Fascinating stuff, really. Also, your hair looks—uh, I mean, the research. Yes, the research!” You raise an eyebrow. Pippa’s inner monologue: Abort mission! Abort!

Pippa lies awake at night, analyzing every interaction. Did you smile more when she talked about unsolved mysteries? Was that a flirty laugh or just a regular laugh? Is she reading too much into this? (Spoiler: Yes, she is.)

She Googles “How to know if you’re gay” and ends up in a Wikipedia rabbit hole about sexual orientation theories. It’s like her brain is on shuffle mode.

Pippa stands in front of her closet, agonizing over what to wear. She’s dissected crime scenes in blood-spattered jeans, but this? This is a whole new level of anxiety. She settles on a slightly wrinkled blouse and wonders if it screams “I’m into girls” or just “I overslept.” Pippa creates a spreadsheet. Column A: Your quirks. Column B: Her heart rate when you smile. Column C: Probability of mutual attraction. She calculates the correlation coefficient and concludes that her feelings are statistically significant.

Pippa observes you from a distance. She notices how your eyes crinkle when you laugh, how your fingers tap rhythmically against the table during intense discussions.

She scribbles notes in her detective journal: “Subject exhibits signs of extreme adorableness. Further investigation warranted.”

Pippa rehearses confessions in her head. “Y/n, I’ve deduced that my feelings for you are not unlike a rare unsolved case. Compelling, mysterious, and keeping me up at night.” But when she opens her mouth, all that comes out is, “So, um, do you like Coffee?”

Pippa dissects every text from you. “She used an exclamation mark! Does that mean she’s excited? Or just grammatically enthusiastic?”She consults her best friend, Ravi, who suggests, “Maybe she just likes punctuation.”

Pippa’s mum catches her staring dreamily at you during dinner. She leans in and whispers, “Sweetie, if she’s your Watson, don’t let her be your Moriarty.” Pippa chokes on her peas. Her mum winks and adds, “And wear something nice tomorrow.”

It takes courage and enough chats with Cara, but pip eventually asks you out to to a true crime museum. She’d stumbled over her words, but you had accepted, because she looked so cute with her cheeks red. You both examine bloodstain patterns and discuss alibis.

You lean in and whisper “I think I’ve cracked the case. It’s called love.”

Pippa’s heart rate spikes. She’s pretty sure she’s solved the greatest mystery of all. Now all thanks to you Cara grumbles as she is forced to watch pip flirt with you during chemistry. It goes a bit like this

Pippa leans against a lab bench. “Did you know that neurotransmitters play a crucial role in attraction?You raise an eyebrow. “Really?” Pippa deadpans, “Yes. Dopamine, norepinephrine, and a dash of witty banter. It’s called the Chemistry of Crushing.”

You can hear Cara behind you, “what the hell?” She whispers.

Ooo I’m a needy stoner with a special interest in cannabis and I have tons to say about different weed strains! I worked at a dispensary for a little over a year and I learned tons about cannabis in that time. (I also smoked my body weight in half priced weed not that you asked haha)

I’d always considered myself a fan of more indica dominant hybrids as well, but then I found out from some of my growers buddies that the indica/sativa/hybrid model is actually pretty outdated with all of the cross breeding that’s happened with strains over time.

What is going to affect your high the most, at least when it comes to flower, is terpene profile. So if you smoke a strain that you really fuck with, check out the terpene profile. For example, your might find out you really like how Pinene makes you feel, but strains high in Limonene make you anxious.

Then you can choose your next strain based off the terpenes you know you like. There are terpenes that are found more commonly in “sativa” strains versus “indicas” and vice versa. So that’s probably why you’re had more luck with indicas or hybrids. But you may have better luck with sativas that have a more similar terpene profile to the indicas and hybrids you’ve enjoyed in the past.

Also as a totally random side note because I’m info-dumping already-when you smoke weed the THC and other cannabinoids pass directly into your bloodstream. When you take edibles, they are processed through your liver instead and require a specific enzyme to be broken down. The theory is that some people either do not have this enzyme at all OR too much of it and they metabolize the THC so effectively that it never builds up in the bloodstream. This is why some people “just don’t get high” off of edibles!)

Lemme explain, Maddie is the carer older sibling who had to step in and be parentified in a way, Eddie’s dad wasn’t around so he was forced to do the same, both of them bottle up their emotions for the sake of the people they love until it comes out in extreme ways and they both struggled with the similar mental health issues, they are both runners in one way or another- Maddie is canonically “the one who leaves” and Eddie left to go to the army at different points of Christopher’s childhood and also when he left to go to dispatch you can also argue that was part of that. Also they both feel a lot of guilt surrounding the fact that they weren’t there for their kids’ babyhood (is that a word? I’m making it one) eventhough in my opinion neither were to blame for their circumstances, both had first marriages that ended badly (understatement for Maddie obviously) and that they have mixed feelings about. Also both of them forgave their parents despite how they wronged them.

The buck and chimney parallels are also unreal but I’ll try to limit myself a little cos that wasn’t the ask, but like they were both the sibling that was unloved and deprived of their parents love they both sought honorary parents in a way (lees for chimney, bobby and Athena for buck obviously), both have the whole 152783 million deaths but always somehow lucky thing going for them, both are very big emotions people, they both struggled to feel seen by past partners, they both had no clue what they were doing and had many different jobs prior to firefighting even both were shown as bartenders as their last jobs before firefighting. Okay I’m cutting myself off - about chimney and buck at least.

But yeah the Maddie and Eddie parallels should make them have at least some scenes together and I feel like they can hit a lot of emotional beats together for scenes well.

Like their personalities and experiences are similar enough that they could be such an iconic duo but too similar to have pulled off a Maddie/Eddie thing like the writers initially planned (let’s all once again thank god for Jennifer love Hewitt🙏🥰) like can you imagine Maddie fresh off the trauma from Doug having to step in and be part of Eddie’s family? Or Eddie’s fighting era or Eddie’s mental breakdown if it was Maddie instead of buck? Like Maddie and Eddie both need a balance of the type of people they are, a yin to their yang (or actually maybe more Yang to their yin 😭😭) and those people are chimney and buck!!!

I also definitely think Maddie knew about buddie since day one like girlie dropped the boy crush comment then the he’s cute followed by buck talking about Eddie not chimney felt like her testing her theory like she legit walked away before he finished talking with this little ‘that’s what I thought skittles squad😌’ look on her face.

I’m not caffeinated enough to think anymore but yes 10000% on board with the Maddie and Eddie siblings in law thing for those reasons and also cos Eddie befriends every woman within 5 minutes of meeting her (unless it’s one of bucks romantic interests😭😭) and yet we haven’t really seen him and Maddie interact, like we’ve had how many buck hospital visits and not one Maddie and Eddie in the waiting room scene?? Rude as hell if you ask me

LTPF THEORY OF THE DAY!

the very first hunger games was a cruel punishment for anyone who happened to be district in any point of their lives. both sejanus and lucy gray must’ve felt threatened by the horrible experience of witnessing the games from the beginning because for lucy gray, she might end up in the arena one day and for sejanus, he could only protect himself from the horrors of the arena. however for someone who was born and raised in the capitol, the games are not really disturbing because they aren’t important in their lives, there isn’t much too see. most people probably don’t even question the benefits of them. but that doesn’t mean the competition and drive for survival isn’t as real as it is in the arena, for them. coryo and r are leveling the playing field because the race is there and they don’t want unfair advantages over each other because they are friends. while the academy may seem like an arena to sejanus, with no one agreeing with his opinions and only two friends, r and coryo view it as a straight line to carry them forward.

this unfortunately changes with the 10th annual hunger games.

as they set foot in the arena, the way of their understanding of their world starts to change. after the games, sejanus and lucy gray move on because even though their trauma is now personal, they have been freed of the games. r, on the other hand, displays change in both on the inside and outside. when she decides to take revenge on coryo, she refers to it as “a game”, she is quick to resort to violence and most importantly, she uses the games to show her power when threatening lucy gray. coryo’s explanation for dr gaul’s question shows that the change happened for him too.

they are no longer the winner of a race. they are the victors.

as per effing usual you are spot on babe-

i feel this could go one of two ways with the way they were raised:

1. her parents (particularly her father) really loved the games as a source of entertainment and i feel like their house would be the venue for many a live watch party. coryo, of course would be invited by r bc she got to invite some friends too and even tho his parents had both passed, they would just kind of hangout together while the adults watched. this could be a viable source of his ideas for the games later on that he shares with dr. gaul. building on the knowledge he gained that morning that people were there to get to know lucy gray, his mind goes “hm… what would make the games better for the adults at that party. betting. r’s father would be all over that.”

for them up until the point that they were directly involved, that big party was all the games meant to them.

OR

2. her father didn’t care for the games either, similar to highbottom. maybe because he knew, maybe because he was there when casca drunkenly pitched the idea and then the next morning when crassus submitted the idea as their assignment. did he try and fight him on it? is that why they were comfortable enough to work together and not feel bad about what they were doing particularly to people in the capitol, desperately searching for something to help them through the devastation after the war, and landed on drugs as a solution? people who were okay with the games, even watched children getting killed year after year, were the men profiting off of them and not feeling remorse because of what the capitol was doing? i don’t think that wholesome excuse would hold up forever, though, considering they’re both more than willing to kill his daughter over exposing them, i feel like it became much more than they intended and greed played a great role in that.

controversial take: i think r is a lot like her father in a lot of ways, and regardless of how her father treated the games, she was never free from that fate.

Never late!! Thank you for sending in an ask, I like reading them :> and dw abt asking abt too many bc answering is cool (I should probably be the one apologizing for finishing this response late 😭) For Micah and Trevon @ceedeelamb posted a lot abt them and I was like "okay hm i see the vision." Like Trevon is pretty and at the cost of sounding shallow he should be shipped with someone if the world has any justice. We all know Stefon is pretty but let’s give his brother some love ok. Bc he too is a gorgeous gorgeous girl who is also prone to bouts of manic behavior 🫶 And it seems like he and Micah have a good relationship (the part abt Micah saying he would pick up Trevon’s 2 am call kinda moved me I can’t lie). It’s cute, they talk shit to each other and play off each other well on the field. Seems like Micah is a little more obtuse and Trevon’s more perceptive and that works I think. If I had a nickel for every time I shipped two NFL players and something about 7-11 was involved in its conception I would have two nickels which isn't a lot but it's weird it happened twice. Also Micah compared himself and Trevon to Jalen Ramsey and Aaron Donald... which I mean. Gay off. Steph/Klay is one of those pairings where I don't read much fic but I ship it bc well. Who else would you ship yknow? They're so married it's insane 😭 like I probably got into the nba fandom too late to really be invested in the narrative but I can't imagine them with anyone else. Tbh I don’t read a lot of fic for them bc the dynamic isn’t something that draws me in but just know I support all of the Klephen shippers. I hope that they both stay with the Warriors for their entire careers 🫡

And then Travis/Pat is a valid ship.
