Since English isn’t my first language I’m afraid this is not clear, I’m sorry.

Ooh, I like it, here's what I've come up with <3

The tension is palpable and certainly not what you were hoping to land yourself in when you accepted Zhongli's request to be his plus-one aboard the Pearl Galley.

"Forgive me, Mr. Changying, but that's where I'll have to correct you," you tell the stocky man before you. The food and drinks on the table are long-untouched. "Rex Lapis didn't take on such a grand ten-headed and eight-armed form to exterminate those sea creatures. In fact, he personally went door to door to trap them in little Geo contraptions, even having a bit of trouble with the.... particularly wrigglier ones."

Changying's eyes practically roll into the back of his head. "Do you truly believe that rubbish just because that is what's commonly peddled? That the Geo archon, who could raise the mountains and calm the tides without breaking a sweat, found the task of getting rid of tiny sea creatures tedious and challenging?"

Sighing, you say, "Even the gods are subject to being less-than-perfect in their methods. And besides, the damn things were inside people's houses - brute strength would not have been handy at all. Rex Lapis needed to be careful and meticulous so that none of his people were harmed. Hence the Geo cages."

Despite how neatly you'd presented your counterpoint, Changying merely scoffs as he adjusts his glasses. He jabs a finger at you accusingly. "You're lying, just like everyone else," he growls, "and you clearly have no respect for our late archon! Do you even like him?"

Your breath nearly hitches in your throat as you gaze up at him in shock. "Ex...excuse me?"

The man pulls no punches as he continues his rant against you. "How can you so blindly believe what the masses think? Maybe if you were a real Rex Lapis follower like me, you would learn some critical thinking skills and draw more accurate conclusions!"

"I'm afraid I am on the side of my partner here, Mr. Changying," cuts in Zhongli, placing an arm on your shoulder. Relief floods your veins as you let out the breath you'd been holding. "They are correct in explaining that Rex Lapis had to go the simplistic route when dealing with Liyue's sea creature infestation."

Changying's eyes grow wide. "Forgive me, Mr. Zhongli," he murmurs, and you're not ignorant to the way his tone mellows out and becomes more respectful as he continues to speak. "I didn't know you were also in agreement of that story. But let me explain why he likely-"

"It is alright for you to have your own interpretations of events, especially for a being with an expansive history that is always being debated over," says Zhongli calmly, poised as always, "but when these interpretations are unrealistic and you still try to present them as fact...while belittling other people, no less...the line must be drawn somewhere, yes?"

Changying blanches, stammering, "Er, but don't you think Rex Lapis would appreciate deviating thought processes more, especially when..."

Zhongli's eyes narrow ever so slightly, his visage still calm as a pond. "Perhaps so, but what he would not appreciate is his people trying to one-up others in an attempt to prove they are his most loyal followers." Your husband glances at you. "I know my partner well, and they love Rex Lapis dearly. Not only do you accuse them of lying, you also undermine the love they hold for the deity."

His hand brushes against yours and he interlaces his fingers with you, giving a gentle, reassuring squeeze. You smile softly.

Changying scrambles for words, useless excuses and explanations that hardly justify him being on his high horse.

Zhongli, unamused, fires his parting shot. "Far be it for an ordinary man like myself to tell you what to do, but here is some advice: gather reliable citations for your claims, provide succinct evidence, and be respectful of those with opposing views, and perhaps then Rex Lapis would consider you a favorite of his."

With that, Zhongli escorts you away from the scene, knowing full well you will always be his favorite by far - the approving smile he gives you conveys that perfectly.

Albedo, Zhongli, Gorou, Arataki Itto / gender-neutral reader.

Synopsis: A flower petal lands on top of your head; what does he do?

#ALBEDO

“… May I draw you? No need to pose, you can continue reading your book.”

You’re slightly surprised by Albedo’s sudden request but agree to it nevertheless. Him drawing you is rare (he actually draws you often, unbeknownst to you), and you’re quite excited to see the final result.

As you resume reading, he would sometimes lift his gaze from his sketch to silently admire you from where he’s seated. Having stolen glances of you on many occasions, the chief alchemist has your appearance memorised down to every detail - so making you his muse is just an excuse for him to burn the image of you with a flower petal on your head into his memory.

After leaving the final pencil strokes on the paper, he stands up and approaches you, prompting your attention to shift. With a minuscule smile, he plucks the petal from the top of your head and uses his Geo Vision to make a yellow flower sprout from it, before tucking the flower behind your ear; his action matches perfectly with the drawing he did of you and himself.

#ZHONGLI

“How pretty.”

Zhongli’s random comment catches you off-guard, and you proceed to stare at him with wide eyes and a slack jaw. Chuckling in amusement, he gently pushes your jaw up to close your mouth for you before removing the flower petal that had landed on your head.

He surprises you again by tucking the petal inside his brown overcoat, and remarks that the sight of you surrounded by flowers is a sight which he yearns to see.

Zhongli then brings you to the flower shop without a second thought and tells you to choose the prettiest flower. When you pick up a glaze lily, he disagrees with your choice before lightly prodding your cheek and saying, “I think this is the most beautiful flower here.”

#GOROU

“Hold on, let me get that off your head.”

Before you could ask him anything, Gorou lifts his hand to carefully remove the flower petal from the top of your head and then shows it to you with a bright smile.

A faint blush tints his cheeks when he realises that what he’s doing is quite similar to a certain romantic scene in the light novel that Kokomi likes to read in her spare time. A few passing soldiers then notice the interaction between their general and army doctor; they too recognise Gorou’s gesture and begin whispering among themselves.

When you spot the small group of soldiers gathering nearby, you quickly blow the petal away, puzzling Gorou who then watches you stride away from him, embarrassed. The soldiers cheer their general on as he chases after you, asking you what he has done wrong.

#ARATAKI ITTO

“Wait- Something’s on your head!”

You arch an eyebrow at his remark and raise your hand to brush whatever it is off your head. However, Itto scoops you into his arms without much warning, surprising you.

Right when you’re about to question him, he leans down and brushes his lips against your head, making you freeze. You didn’t expect that gesture from him at all, and as you’re processing what just happened, he gives you a closed-eye smile with a pink flower petal caught between his lips.

After eating the petal, he enthusiastically admits that he’s always wanted to do this to you after Mamoru read his favourite scene in a popular light novel out loud for the gang. As sparkles fill his irises, he expectantly asks you if what he did made him look like a cool male lead in your eyes.

You don't have to give him an answer right away, though he will keep hinting at the question every now and then to remind you

He's a little very eager

You'll have to excuse his constant hovering

Absolutely the type to trip you and then catch you when you fall

"Have you fallen for me too, perhaps?"

Slap him, he can take a few hits and honestly deserves it for teasing you that much<33

Feigns hurt when you hit him until you relent and tend to his 'injuries'

Then tackles you into a hug when you do

He has four arms so,,,good luck escaping, comrade

If you want him to stop you're gonna have to flatout reject him

Indarias(pyro):

Incredibly cheeky about it

"You think I'm into you? Now why would you be so curious about that? Unless you're trying to tell me you're interested~"

She smiles so innocently the whole while like she didn't just set you up

It absolutely was her idea to let Bonanus discuss her crush on you with Bosacius right as you were walking around the corner

And it was completely staged how Bonanus panicked and told you to forget you heard anything from her

Which of course led to curiosity getting the better of you

And now Indarias was more than happy to poke and pinch your cheeks cooing over how cute you were when you played investigator

"Your interrogation needs work, but I can help with that! Go on, ask me more."

Goes off on date ideas unprompted regardless of what your initial question was

Her favourite colour? Pink. Speaking of which there's this pink themed cafe she's been dying to check out and you should accompany her

Bonanus(hydro):

Ever so slightly shy about it, probably the second most flustered of the yakshas

She genuinely didn't expect you to find out before she confessed

Either way, she's not going to deny it

"That is...correct," she confirms with a soft smile and giggle, easily slipping her hand in yours. "You...wouldn't happen to have asked because you liked me too, would you?"

Definitely pulls you along saying she has to show you something when you say yes

She takes you to a lake when she slowly leads you into the water, letting it settle up to your ankles

When you ask what she had to show you, she only smiles and leads you into a dance

"Not much, I just wanted to dance with you."

Of course there was more to it than that

As she twirled around with you, the water that splashed up seemed to carry on upwards in slow motion

You'd expect to feel hot under the scorching sun, but the water droplets that drifted around you like snowflakes reflected the sunlight into a million little rainbows while keeping you cool

The tiny rainbows reflected on her like mini spotlights, drawing in your attention to her grace

You were caught staring

"I'm flattered you liked my performance, but won't you be a part of it with me?"

Menogias(geo):

Visibly, his reaction is neither here nor there

"You heard a rumour that I fancy you? Hmm, interesting."

Internally he's going insane and think he just might jump off the highest point of Jueyun Karst

"Is there, perhaps, a reason you're so curious?"

He's testing the waters to see if he should confess to you, though the surprise has been ruined

Feel free to tease him if only to watch him blank out

You can almost see the singular Braincell ping around in his skull

A lot of stuttering and taking back what he's said

No, he never said he was in love with you- wait, not that it meant he wasn't, BUT HE'S NOT SAYING HE IS, he's not denying it but kindly do not assume he's smitten thank you very much

If you don't stop teasing him the rambling will never end

On the other hand, acting upset about him not being in love with you and professing your own love to him will probably result in even greater panic

He'd take your hand and drag you all over the place until he found a suitable spot that fit your preferred aesthetic

Then he fumbles over a confession he half regrets not having planned it in detail as a script sitting in his pocket at a moment's notice

What he does have going for him is how he can sneakily draw precious gems towards him behind his back as he pretends to be fidgeting with his hands

He manages to present that much to you as a present, not that he feels any better about it

Largely anticipating your rejection and he almost flinches when your mouth opens

Xiao:

Easily the most flustered of the five

Denies it so adamantly that you'd believe him if he weren't blushing so badly

He doesn't even want to admit it to himself what makes you think he'll admit it to you

You're lucky he's the youngest and all his big yaksha siblings bully him into confessin when they hear your confrontation

They're all watching him, wide eyed and smiley, nudging him closer to you whenever he takes too long to speak

Which happened a lot, hence why he was very nearly pressed against you

At which point he lashes out at them

"Stop pushing me if you already know I'm into them."

He all but hisses yet they're still grinning at him - wider than before, if possible

Remembers you're there, hides his face in his hands and turns his back to you

"I don't see you, you don't see me."

You could point out how he could just teleport away, but you knew he'd actually do it if you did

Perhaps some time in the future, he'd reveal that he stayed to hear your opinion

Bruno Bucciarati

Archon collector.

His main goal is to collect all of the Archons.

So his team is pretty simple.

Raiden, Venti, Nahida, and Zhongli.

He’s not sure what he’ll do as the other Archons become playable.

But for now, it works out for him.

He just likes the idea that he can play as gods in a game.

Though, he does find their characters to have questionable actions.

Their favorite character: Nahida.

Leone Abbacchio

Hu Tao main, hands down.

Because of this, he also uses Zhongli.

They work well together on a team.

But also the character dynamic is his biggest draw to them.

After that, he isn’t as picky as who else he uses.

But he has heard that Yelan and Xingqiu would bring his team to the next level.

He likes Hu Tao’s play style because it’s risky and gives him a sort of adrenaline rush.

He also likes Hu Tao’s personality.

Favorite character: pretty obvious.

Pannacotta Fugo

Has a constant rotation.

He plays based off of whoever best fits his needs in that moment.

He is very partial to using Geo, however.

Any excuse to throw a Geo in there and he’ll take it.

Especially fond of using Itto, Albedo, and Gorou.

The fourth member is on constant rotation, however.

But he does have other side teams for his rotational needs.

Favorite character: Albedo.

Narancia Ghirga

Aesthetics Only.

He doesn’t care how well a team works together.

He wants to use characters that he simply thinks look (or act) cool.

Childe is always a go-to for him.

Xiao, Dori, and Lyney are next.

He thinks they’re all neat!

Doesn’t care that it makes the game harder.

He makes Fugo join him in his world to chest hunt, though.

And will have Fugo do artifact hunting for him.

Or rather- Fugo volunteers to help because Narancia’s team hurts his soul.

Favorite character: Childe.

Guido Mista

Tall guys unite team.

Doesn’t necessarily care about how well the characters work together.

He’s focused more on how his team looks.

Though, bases his off of height.

Alhaitham, Nevillette, Wriothesley, and Zhongli.

Occasionally will rotate Childe and Diluc into the mix.

He does, however, have another team with Cyno, Venti, Itto, and Kaeya.

That’s the funny bones team.

They just make him laugh.

Favorite character: Venti (for the memes).

Giorno Giovanna

Always considers his team carefully.

He thinks every character has a use and wants to use them all to their best potential.

Will come up with the most hair-brained teams but somehow makes them work together.

Is very partial to Dendro visions.

He would use Tighnari as much as possible.

From there, he would use whoever he’s in the mood for.

Favorite character: Tighnari.

Trish Una

Aesthetic with a purpose.

Trish is actually amazing at games.

However, she values the aesthetic of her team and heavily calculates that into how she builds it.

Prefers a perma-frost team.

Female characters ONLY.

Ayaka, Shenhe, Kokomi, and Yelan is her forever team.

Though, she has side teams of other characters she simply finds beautiful but doesn’t fit her main team’s strong core.

Side team 2; Nilou, Yae Miko, Keqing, Layla.

Side team 3; Ningguang, Yun Jin, Jean, Faruzan.

Favorite character: all of the female characters.

It was a wisdom Zhongli bestowed upon you before you went to Inazuma, and since then, you couldn't help but get back for more. 

You solved way too many crises, discovered too many secrets, felt too many losses, and your reward was only glimpses of your twin - only Zhongli stayed the same. Unchanged, permanent, like the Geo he was master of, the stability drew you closer every time you came back to Liyue. 

As your journey went further, you met more people - most became your friends, others enemies, some of them admirers. Their kindness, sweet words or beautiful presents could never sway you, though, and you always turn them away, always with the same excuse - when you find your twin, you won't stay in Teyvat. 

It wasn't a lie, it wasn't manipulation, and everyone gave up hearing it. Only Zhongli stayed the same. Unchanged, permanent, his love could endure anything like the mountains he created. He was the anchor you needed in a journey where any of your choices changed the entire world. 

"I heard that you turned down the Kamisato," Childe says before taking a sip of baijiu, the strong alcohol not creating even a blush on his face, "you really are ruthless~" 

You shrug, a small sigh precedes your annoyed answer that they should expect that as all love confessions got the same answer. Zhongli squeezes your hand, your joined fingers on your knee hidden from Childe's observant gaze. Your irritated gaze softens, and your Snezhnaya's companion quickly catches on and changes the topic. 

The men chatted away as you simply enjoyed Zhongli's touch - how big yet soft his hand was, warm, reminding you of the cosiness of coming back home. Zhongli was your home in this unknown world, the squeeze of his hand was enough to calm you down, his thump drawing circles on your hand enough to make you smile. Despite being hidden, Zhongli was your anchor, you signal to take a break to not drown in your travels.

Someone claims Rex Lapis has returned, and tries to con you and Zhongli into giving offerings…obviously, it doesn’t work.

★彡 just you and zhongli low-key bullying a scammer

It’s meant to be a normal evening, just you and your husband Zhongli shopping for incense for your home, when a mousey-looking man traipsing along the marketplace holding out an offering basket draws your attention. Zhongli, ever the curious man when it comes to affairs of his nation, suggests approaching him to see what his deal is. You oblige, but almost immediately regret it.

“Rex Lapis has returned to us!” the man says, firmly shaking his fist up in the air.

For a moment you wonder if Zhongli’s secret has finally been found out, but when you turn to him you see your husband smiling warmly. “Could you please elaborate, good sir?”

He wastes no time in doing so. “Rex Lapis has re-descended from Celestia, reborn! He is currently taking some rest within a cavern deep in the Chasm, and hopes that his people will worship Him with more fervour than before!” Ah. A conspiracist.

“Yeah, well it’s more likely that I spend every night in bed with Rex Lapis,” you retort with an eye-roll, and you just faintly hear the chuckle that escapes Zhongli’s lips.

The conspiracist, however, draws in a sharp gasp. “Excuse me!” he exclaims, “that’s utter — utter blasphemy! Rex Lapis would punish you for saying such a thing!”

“What kind of punishment?” you ask, grinning, and beside you Zhongli clamps a hand over his mouth so as not to laugh even more.

Looking even more scandalised, the conspiracist quickly shakes his head, muttering under his breath. “At any rate, I will ask Him to keep you and your husband safe – as long as you drop some offerings into this basket here.” He holds out the basket, rattling it impatiently.

Zhongli, having composed himself once more, ignores the basket and rubs his chin thoughtfully. “But if Rex Lapis has truly returned, how have we not been informed of this matter?”

The conspiracist puffs his chest out authoritatively. “He has personally selected myself as His humble messenger of truth and prosperity.” Once more, he rattles the basket. “I accept - I mean, He accepts both items and Mora.”

“Might you kindly take us to Him?” Zhongli asks, still not caring about the basket. “I would love to converse with Him face to face.”

“He wishes not to be seen by many mortal eyes just yet!” cries the conspiracist, his moustache twitching. “And besides, the road to His cavern is dangerous and can only be crossed by those blessed by Him!”

Zhongli holds up his Geo vision, a small twinkle of amusement in his eye. “Then it would please you to know that we are allogenes of the very element he holds reign over.”

Now it’s your turn to giggle as you see the mousy man’s face redden like a Jueyun chili. He stumbles back. “Would you look at that, the moon is rising!” he says hurriedly, “I must return to His side lest He lose patience with me.”

“Ah. A shame. Well then, give my regards to Rex Lapis.” Not even bothered with hiding his smile, Zhongli also peers into the so-called offering basket. “Ah, and let it be known that He prefers Cor Lapis over Noctilucous Jade. Also, seafood is a definite no-go, unless you plan on finely chopping the fish.”

Casting a glare, the conspiracist declares that perhaps Zhongli must know nothing about the Geo Archon, and with a huff, he struts off – perhaps on his way to swindle someone more malleable to his tastes.

You snicker, looping your arm with Zhongli’s as you two return home for the day. “So, apparently you don’t know anything about the Geo Archon?”

Zhongli chuckles in return as he pulls you closer. “Oh dear, it appears so. How unfortunate. Whatever will I do now?”

“Let’s wallow in our misery all evening with a nice book and our new sandalwood and jasmine incense,” you bemoan mockingly.

“And after that, you shall lay in bed with Rex Lapis, hm?” He only laughs as you playfully punch his arm, all of a sudden feeling slightly bashful in front of your own husband.

“X, Zero... Don’t worry about me. I can handle things just fine!”

Oh boy, this is the first time I’ve decided to post my non-sketchbook comics onto Tumblr, so I hope they’ll be okay (and readable).

I feel like it hasn’t been until a handful of recent crossovers that X and Zero get to stick with each other-- most of the time, Zero was always picked on his own because he’s just so coo~l or whatever. But now that they’re back together (most recently in Smash), you’d have to wonder what’s going on back home in CAPCOM without them.

Perhaps they don’t need to worry at all. Right?
