listen what i'm saying is, I know the perv trope thing with Sanji is annoying and overplayed. i know it is. i know that some of it is Oda's humor and some of it is like. shit that anime always seems to find one character to shunt onto, and I don't like it and nobody likes it but like

pretending that's the only character trait that he has, or refusing to connect the dots through what appears to both be some vestige of the Vinsmoke programming (since ALL of his brothers have the exact same kind of nosebleed awooga behavior despite their lack of other meaningful human emotions), and a strict adherence to anything Zeff taught him (bc children do not process trauma and traumatic events the way adults do, and at that point Zeff was not only his first and ONLY example of paternal love, but the only hand capable of reaching in and stopping the knife he'd been twisting in his own guts), isn't just stupid, it's a deeply shallow and backwards take of an incredibly complex character.

yes, Sanji is flawed. they're all flawed. that's half the point of the story, that people are more than the sum of their parts, or the circumstances of their birth, or their pain.

Sanji's journey in this story so far is one of broken shackles, of healing, of finding comfort in himself and trust in his found family despite how deep the roots of self-loathing and fear run in him. in that way, of course he took Zeff's perspective to heart. Zeff who cut a piece of himself off and chose Sanji's life over his own well-being again and again, when Sanji's birth father abandoned him to torment and death. Zeff, who thought he was wonderful, and kind, and intelligent, and nurtured his potential, and taught him how to make sure nobody could ever hurt him again, when his birth father discarded him as damaged goods. Zeff, who is proud, in his own way, to know what his son is up to, and for people to know that's his boy, when his birth father's only direct words to him were to make sure to never bring him the shame of letting anyone know they were related.

(and that's the wild part, one of the things that really breaks me about Sanji sometimes, is that he kept that promise, too. If WCI hadn't happened he might never have told anyone at all.)

Zeff saved Sanji in every way a hurt little boy could possibly be saved, and so when he said "You never hit a woman, that's wisdom from when the dinosaurs walked the earth." and "Beat any man's ass you want, but if I ever catch you raising a hand to a woman I'll cut your dick off and then myself too for teaching you that." like???

He's not being a misogynist, he doesn't refuse to fight women because he thinks they're weak and frail and the fairer sex that needs to be protected at all costs by big strong men, he respects Nami and Robin and Vivi and refuses to give up on his friends and even forgives Viola despite her almost killing him and agrees to help her, like?? he internalized everything Zeff ever told him, not just how to make risotto really well or how to pair wine to cheeses and desserts.

does Oda sometimes play that up for laughs, or run it to extremes? yeah, absolutely. I actively like to pretend Fishman Island was 10 episodes of political backstory and Jinbei. But those moments of hyperbole aren't the fucking point of his character, or his development, and to pretend like they are removes Sanji--and an incredibly poignant story about abuse, recovery, self-love, and the acceptance and importance of found family--from the story.

ive been hearing a lot of legitimate criticism of will wood and his fan base from people who like his music, but see him as a pretentious white guy, and his fanbase as an extension of that.

now i havent been in the ww fandom v long, but given the depths i have gone in it i feel at least somewhat comfortable saying im not sure exactly where this impression is coming from.

i see him writing very eclectic erratic and idiosyncratic songs, and people having a variety of interpretations of them, and i can see how that might come off as pretentiousness, especially bc some of his fans really do cross a line in terms of a gatekeepy parasocial attachment to will

but i haven't really seen anyone going THIS IS THE ONLY WAY TO INTERPRET THIS SONG YOURE STUPID IF YOU DONT SEE IT or smth to that effect

i acknowledge tho that there is also some legitimate background to this perception, bc what i have seen is:

-will playing characters live and joking w his audience in ways that are often either easily misinterpreted or clearly just someone with extreme mental health issues

-will being maybe mildly annoyed at how his fans often... over analyze his songs and upset when they overstep boundaries, and sometimes expressing that in non ideal ways.

-wills fans being incredibly obsessed with him and his music, which to the outside observer can be annoying i think (but honestly this to me reads more as a bunch of nd ppl w who have hyperfixated/have a special interest related to him)

-the lyrics to wills songs all being very confusing, especially the farther back in his discography you go, and his fans acting like their meanings are obvious on a first glance even when they arent (which is all the time)

-will pulling references from sources that can be seen as pretentious and off putting, esp when coming from a white guy (taoism, it's always sunny, modern psychology, 'classic' films, name dropping authors of philosophy, etc.)

-wills stances often being contrarian and often (especially on first glance) seemingly being that way purely for the sake of being contrarian

-will explaining his stances in fancy and grandiloquent language (a note on this one in particular: i think of this as not really a sign of being pretentious, potentially bc of my own struggles w it. i often accidentally use a bunch of complicated words and descriptions that wouldn't make sense to me if i was the one hearing them, not because im trying to be exclusionary or come off as ✨intelligent✨, but bc it was explained to me in those terms and i went through the process of studying it in that terminology and being told i had to use that terminology, and now im too dumb to translate what im thinking back into language that's actually comprehensible)

but i feel that a lot of these things are really overstated in how often they happen. by and large, i think a lot of this response is a misreading of the facts that his fanbase is really passionate to a somewhat obsessive degree, will is very passionate about the things he likes and the things he believes in, and both will and the majority of his fan base are pretty mentally unstable and/or neurodivergent.

from what ive seen, will isn't trying to be pretentious in any way and is legitimately just expressing himself. his fanbase despite their occasional issues are ultimately pretty much just very passionate people. and also he does not hate them! to quote the man himself

"guys, i don't hate you! stop telling people i hate you! stop doing that; i like you people! 99.999 percent of you are really good, and 99.999 percent of the people who piss me off are just going through it! i don't know where people are getting this idea the whole like 'will wood hates his fandom' yeah i know i said i hate you all in that song but... you know, it's a song! i like you guys."

if you have counter info/arguments though id love to see them. im always looking for new perspectives, and as i said ive *just* started listening to will wood and looking into his lore. i couldve totally missed smth and id love to hear it if i have.

hello admin I hope this is not a repeated question and I would be grateful if you could give your opinion on this matter. Who do you think is the smartest boy in DL? Of course, not with regard to academic success, because I don't consider it as a criterion for being smart. Rather, according to the behaviors that these boys have shown so far, in your opinion, which of the 13 boys is the most intelligent?

And nobody can change my mind because this man is literally scaringly smart and will forever be the most intelligent DL character in my eyes. I will talk about him soon, I just want to get some things straight here.

Grades don’t equal intelligence, therefore I would never judge it solely on someone’s academic success. It’s not that hard getting a good score if you pay attention during class or simply study, so it’s more about effort. I’m speaking from my own experience because I’m one of my university’s top students yet there are classmates who are undoubtedly smarter than me or than the teachers themselves.

To be honest, in my opinion, the "big brain" DL boys aren't nearly as intelligent as they’re described. Sure, they're knowledgeable, but I wouldn't call them geniuses. Writers will make a character appear intelligent by having everyone else act stupid or oblivious. For example, in LE and CL, it took them 1000 years to realize that Kino, the new, mysterious guy they know nothing about, was the one causing them problems, and they were surprised despite the fact that it was obvious. I should also point out that their plans and strategies aren't particularly good; it's just that the writers will make them appear to be successful. If they gave the same plan to a seemingly stupid Diaboy, they would make him fail and face consequences.

Furthermore, it irritates me that they are constantly attempting to humiliate Yui with things they are proficient in. They test her with cubes, puzzles, musical instruments, and books in foreign languages she doesn't speak, such as Latin and German. They are aware Yui isn't the brightest, and they can clearly see she lacks knowledge and any talents, so I'm not sure how you, a "genius," would find satisfaction in seeing a seemingly stupid character fail at things stereotypically smart people excel at. Why not, for example, challenge someone of your league? Or are you afraid of failing that way, and you only get that spark from someone weaker than you?

Okay, enough of that, let's get back to Laito. Laito's brain power outperforms everyone else's and he’s not just book smart but he's also extremely street smart.

He's very perceptive and has the best ability to read others. While the big brain boys rely on simple and sometimes obvious deductions, Laito memorizes information about you and will later know how to use it against you to cause you pain. He's a master of gaslighting and convincing; he manipulated Yui into saying and doing things she would never have done otherwise, and he's impossible to trick. Every time Yui tried to be bold in front of him, saying things like "perhaps you’re the one who likes the pain" or "you’re the masochist”, Laito twisted her words so as to make her feel like a bad person, which she believed.

I understand that being manipulative does not always imply being clever, because any human being can manipulate, but Laito is not your average manipulator. To manipulate someone, you must be able to hold a large amount of information in your mind at the same time. A larger brain capacity is required to be a skilled manipulator because you are creating several different scenarios and outcomes prior to and during a conversation with the person you are attempting to manipulate. Laito has a high level of metacognition, which most people do not have, and his brain is quick, creative, adaptable, and can unquestionably be called intelligent.

You can also notice that he says some really meaningful things that Yui and his two brothers can’t understand. His poetic way of speaking isn’t a reason to mislead others or make them feel stupid, but rather he’s merely expressing his thoughts that way. I love those moments when he’s unpredictable and pulls a spontaneous psychological mind game, because I know this man would be able to twist everyone around his little finger if he wanted to, even the big brain boys (no wonder even Carla acknowledged him as intelligent).

However, one of Laito’s flaws is that he got poor emotional control and his trauma makes him perceive some things differently. He’s still dangerously intelligent and the fact his intelligence is so underrated feels unbelievable.

some assorted gay chicken show thoughts:

(i put a cut bc this got so stupid long i'm so sorry lol)

i think Earth has a really tough task with this role but imo he is totally nailing the restrained longing of it all and the undercurrent of wistful regret for lost opportunities in everything he says and does. the way he's not necessarily unhappy with his lot in life but doesn't think there's any value in it or what he provides for his community. the way he's resigned himself to loneliness but still can't help but want something more in a part deep inside of him (the shot of him looking at the moon in ep 1... I Am Thinking). i think it's really easy to see how bold and open Wen is with his feelings and be swept up in that bc the way Jim expresses his attraction is a lot more subtle but I think Earth does an amazing job of conveying that longing through the tiny shifts in his microexpressions, the way he looks at Wen when he thinks no one is looking (it KILLS me his expression when he sees how gentle and kind Wen is to his cat), the way he orients himself around Wen without thinking - it seems like he always has to consciously pull himself away in scenes like when he's dropping Wen off at the main street or at the end of ep 2 when Wen almost kisses him and i like the way Earth carries himself in scenes like that, he makes it easy to buy into

i really like the more meandering conversations that establish characterization and relationship dynamics. one example that comes to mind is when Jim and Wen are talking about the DVD. Full disclosure I'm not familiar with the movie referenced but judging from the title and the cover and the way Jim described it as "classic" I'm guessing it's some sort of romance. But then, "i haven't watched it in a long time. The disc is probably damaged." and then, when Wen says he can stream it if he wants, he says "that's okay, i don't want to watch it anymore." i like the way this dialogue hints at his history with love and ideals. "I don't want to watch it anymore", implying that he did at some point in his life want to watch it. The disc is probably damaged, but he can't bring himself to check to be sure. it's better to leave it alone and in the past. but in the past it was something he wanted to watch, an ideal he wanted to believe in; what changed? (who hurt u uncle jim i just want 2 talk)

the contrast between day and night life in this show ugh ugh ugh. the intimacy and vibrancy of the night, but also how lonely it sometimes can be; how harsh and uninviting the reality of daytime can be, but also how chatty and bustling. it's getting late and i'm sure way smarter people have already said much smarter things about it but just know this is a theme that always gets me and it is getting me now so fuckin hard.

and again i'm sure much more intelligent things have already been said about the relationship between Jim and Li Ming but I am fr LOVING it so far, not least of all because it reminds me so viscerally of my own teenage relationship with my parental figures skdjfnskdjfnskdjf but also the conflict between them just feels so well drawn and realistic, the way Jim is just trying to do what's best for Li Ming but doesn't know how to show that, the way Li Ming lashes out when at the end of the day all he really wants is for Uncle Jim to understand his point of view. it's some good shit u know

i do think imagining this whole situation from Li Ming's perspective is incredibly funny. like imagine it's one in the morning and you are in your room just minding your own business when a completely wasted man you've never met before wanders into your room, doesn't say a single word to you, and then when your emotionally distant uncle ushers him out he doesn't say anything to explain either he's just like "k sorry bye" and yeets himself out of there to go have shockingly tender sex with a man whose name neither of you know. and then like a month later you come into work only to find said drunk man is now your COWORKER at your UNCLE'S RESTAURANT. Li Ming doesn't get paid enough to deal with this shit. Uncle Jim wants us to think he has his life together so bad but he's just as messy of a bitch as anyone else on this show bless his heart

i'm really into the progression of the last part of ep 2, the subtle shift of the power dynamic, the way Wen so casually paying off the couple flows into Jim watching him work and understanding that they come from vastly different worlds flows into Jim telling Wen he's not fit to be anyone's home. and yet he still wants this closeness, as much as he tries to deny it; he made the choice to buy the second beer at the convenience store, he made the choice to offer it to Wen, he made the choice to let Wen rest on his shoulder if only for a little while. unstoppable force (Jim's yearning for closeness borne from a very deep loneliness) v immovable object (his abysmally low esteem of himself and his life)

as well i'm a huge hoe for glass metaphors so you know when Jim let himself want closeness with Wen by buying the beer only to come back and see him behind the window (like yes there is jealousy in that scene of the man Wen was talking to but there's also a distinct sense of never actually being able to reach Wen in his world; the reality is he stands behind the glass) a bitch was completely weak for it. it's me i'm bitch

obviously i love everything about the conversation at the end of ep 2 (a bitch is weak for a person as a home!!!) but something that especially interests me about it is what it tells us about Wen's relationship with Alan and the way he feels when he comes back to their apartment. i'm gonna be honest at this point i'm very confused about what's up with that whole clusterfuck lol but the implication that the place he lives in doesn't make him feel any of the things he described that he wanted from a home... home where someone waits for me, home where all my tiredness is gone and i have peace of mind, home that's more than just a place to sleep... how much he yearns for it that he's willing to pursue it with a man he only recently met... it paints a picture of a very lonely person and it does make me feel for him (even if I think it's really bizarre how completely casual he's being about cheating on his presumably long term partner not just with himself but with his friend who clearly knows the both of them skdjfnsdbfskdjfnsdjkfsn)

what i like most about this show so far is how at the core of it everyone just wants someone to see them and understand them. this, the aching loneliness everyone feels but in such different ways, is the driving force behind so much of the conflict and the drama and the interactions between characters. tonally it's exactly my kind of shit, i'm really looking forward to seeing how it builds as the story continues

Molluck Towers

It feels like I enjoyed drawing that blimp so much that I just had to continue drawing objects... So yeah, I really wanted to draw a 'Glukkon watch tower' but instead of drawing one in the games, I ended up designing a new one! It kinda just happened when I started drawing this... I thought that I would like to make them look more like the current Molluck but then, I also got an idea of his cigar being a gun, so this is kinda a better version of those towers. I don't know about mechanical engineering design stuff nor drawing stuff like this but I wanted to give it a try.

If Molluck would have had better towers, would he have gotten Abe? Maybe, maybe not; it would still have been harder to escape at least. The funny thing here is that Molluck's blimp had so powerful launcher that it had to be 'downgraded' later in SoulStorm! I have finished that 1.0 version of that level and I didn't find it too hard; it was fine and you could really use that faster ammo falling speed as your advantage if you could see a good route since they did hit the Sligs quite well (too). I think that that level just got worse after those 'adjustments', like they also removed the timer for that one door... Well, maybe Molluck 'guided' me or something since I didn't find that level so frustrating or hard like many people say... But yeah, I let Molluck have powerful weapons if OWI doesn't.

But yeah, it also came to my mind while drawing this that Molluck has eyes inside and outside the RuptureFarms, so here continues that 'Molluck watches' thing. I don't know if I like better that AO's or NnT's version of his TV wall but it looked better to draw that NnT one. Oh, and I didn't really draw this part but I just had my stupid ideas again and just thought about drawing Abe farting in front of the camera and well, that's why you don't really see a thing on TVs... Back then while drawing the banner, it also just came to my mind that I have heard that ADHD feels like watching many televisions at once, so does it tell us something about his mental capabilities that he is able to watch so many television screens... Well, he got big brains, so I bet that he has better mental abilities than (average) humans do.

I kinda wonder if Lorne realizes this 'intelligence stereotype' Molluck has because of the way he talked about how to make a monster seem smart (referring to Molluck) since yes, Molluck does have this stereotype. He got the biggest head of all the Gluks in SoulStorm! 'A mastermind Gluk', eh? Well, for me he do is a masterpiece at least! It just feels like my thirst for him just gets worse when I get better at my stuff, making me also connect more with him... I must just admit that yes, he does feels closer to me the more I do stuff about him. Recently, I also wrote a song for him but I don't know if I ever release it when it's fully done... (I have never done a proper song, just some random improvised tunes.) It's just about how I see him, what he makes me feel, how much I love him... Man, sometimes I just wonder what OWI/Lorne would think about this but I'm just thankful for him. I wish to take good care of him.

You are someone very affectionate with him, if he allows you, you will not stop giving him hugs and kisses all day.

You will compliment him and flirt with him 24/7.

Gyutaro will feel a little annoyed by all these cute things because he at first thinks you are teasing him but actually he loves them.

This man is full of insecurities and self-loathing so please take care to erase all those thoughts from his little head.

Because of his insecurities he won't even notice yours and if you tell him he won't really care. If there is something you don't like about yourself physically, he won't care, he says that if a demon as evil and horrible as he is loved by you, how could he not love you if you were "normal" on the society's gaze?

He would tell you to stop saying stupid things because besides him there are other people who also consider you attractive.

Gyutaro would make you feel very confident in yourself because he always tries to make you feel better about whatever is happening to you. It won't be with pretty words or a sweet and tender voice, but his arguments would make a lot of sense and he would make your problems or anxieties disappear.

He is not a lover of physical contact but he loves your kisses on any part of his body. That lets him know without a doubt that you don't feel any kind of disgust towards him and it makes him feel better.

Gyutaro loves to lie on your lap or chest after a long fight with some Demon Slayer or a hunt. It's impossible for him to get tired but resting with you is like recharging his energy.

Sometimes, Gyutaro comes back quite sweaty and with dried or fresh blood stains on his clothes, hands and mouth if he has eaten someone. He sees it as normal so he goes straight to you to kiss you on the cheek and cup your face in his hands.

He loves to see you stained with blood for some reason, once you prevented him from dirtying you like that but when you did he felt rejected and got mad at you because he thought you actually felt disgusted by him. So now you had to allow him to do it, maybe it was a demon thing like marking you or something.

The good side of him being so dirty was that if you could convince him, the two of you could take a bath together.

Gyutaro loves to touch you (whether in a cute or horny way) but now I'll talk about a sweet and soft way.

Gyutaro loves how warm and soft your skin is, when his rough fingers touch you he feels really good. When he touches you it's as if time stopped for him and nothing else existed around him. He usually does it when you're asleep. Gyutaro runs his long, bony fingers through the strands of your hair to untangle it, he also touches the fabric of the clothing that covers your skin and he brings his face closer to you to feel the scent of your entire body.

He loves the contrast of your curves and soft skin next to the sharp angles that create the bones of his body. Gyutaro thinks that just seeing you is a wonder.

Sometimes this relaxes him a lot but at other times he has to get away from you immediately because when he smells your sweet scent he feels a big need of wants to kill you.

He knows that he is immortal and one of the strongest and most intelligent demons but deep down, Gyutaro is very worried about what will happen to you if he were to die.

You are someone fragile and defenseless in the sight of Gyutaro, he always thinks about how to take care of you and protect you so that no one even thinks of harming you.

Gyutaro would definitely kill someone for you without hesitation, no matter if it's someone you know.

If he suspects that someone in particular has bad intentions with you or will try to hurt you, be it physical/psychological, he will kill them.

Gyutaro's mind is his worst enemy because it tends to make him overthink things.

He wonders too much why you love him, he thinks that there is nothing good in him and that you are wasting all your time and life with him.

Gyutaro thinks that you are a wonderful person, you are the first person other than his sister that he can trust and you don't know how much he is in love with you even if he doesn't show it.

You are so beautiful and perfect that when he sees himself he can't help but scratch his skin until it bleeds thinking that you should leave him, for your own good.

He has had enough self control by now but he is really afraid of one day coming up with you and just killing you because he has already imagined how it would be like to take you in his arms and bite your neck, open your abdomen with his bare hands and swallow your intestines while he feels the hot sensation of your blood dripping from his mouth.

If he were to do that he would never forgive himself but you're so good he knows you would.

Gyutaro desperately searches for you throughout the Kyogoku house until he finds you and he takes you to a place alone with him.

He hugs you with all his might and buries his face into your chest, letting your touch at least momentarily dispel the thick fog inside his head.

There are times when Gyutaro would look for you and cling to you crying for no reason. You don't know what could destabilize him so much and when you ask him he never answers but whatever it is you will always be here for him and make him feel better.

jennifer jareau is the apple of my mothafuckin eye fr. the literal love of my life. i am so serious when i say every blonde woman that i have ever found attractive needs to bow down before her (n samantha stephens) n kiss the mothafuckin ring. she is so slept on n i feel like people don't really understand or appreciate the many layers of her. i feel like she's so widely misunderstood. tbh people's takes on her tend to make my eye twitch real bad. as beautiful as she is, i feel like "soft", beautiful looks contribute a lot to her massive mischaracterization. except rosie's; she understands jj, she gets it. but for the most part, i dont feel like people should b allowed to speak on her bcus they're prolly wrong. (also butch jj is the best hc ever, but we all know i feel that way)

i really love emily prentiss, i do. she's intelligent, soulful, goofy in a way that doesn't feel ridiculous or stupid (contrary to a lot of fanon portrayal) but i mostly feel like that about early seasons emily. the more she left n returned, the less it seemed like the writing for her character was true to her n it started to feel bland. i often ask myself in later seasons where her personality went bcus at a some point she jus feels kinda blank n like shes there for fan service. it isn't emily's fault tho; it's all the writers. i love emily tho. also i hc her as bisexual now bcus idk i feel like u would have to swing from multiple vines to participate in sin to win; i can see her being w women n men equally as far as sex goes but being more likely to fall in love w women but sometimes she'll fall in love w a man n b like, well shit... ok n rockin w it but yes, shes a bi babe. i have also concluded that homegirl has a type n jj would b the exception to her rule/type bcus emily is def robert deniro (iyyk). anyway....

i didn't enjoy ashley seaver or her arc. contrary to popular belief, it isn't bcus she replaced jj. it's bcus shes the only team member they've ever had that was there without any actual professional merit. girl wasnt even finished w the academy, and i, for one, did not enjoy watching what was essentially an internship. also she was boring so.

i like penelope garcia a lot; she's fun n she's sweet. i would like to write for her more but i find it difficult bcus she doesn't feel like a real person to me. which is like not to say i haven't met people like her bcus i have but whenever i do, it's kinda jarring n i always feel like i jus hallucinated. also my view of emotions is... yeah. so, there are times where she's kinda paralyzed w emotions that grind me a bit bcus idk i kinda feel like if ur emotions aren't servicing u in that moment then u needa jus suck it up n deal w them later, u not getting nowhere if u crying to much to function n then u still have this problem; so suck it up n deal w the problem n cry later n she has to b reminded of that often which again grinds me a bit but thats a me thing. i dont hold that against PG but it's jus sumn that we are not compatible on n that's fine. also i love love love love love love her n her dynamic w morgan ofc but some of the nicknames she calls him makes me personally uncomfortable as a black person but i mean hey... also, evolution was a disgusting disservice to her character n she deserves to b happy n at peace w her life away from the bau; she coulda came back without getting sucked back into a job that was messing her up mentally. she deserves better

i don't really have an opinion of kate callahan. i don't like her. i don't dislike her. i simply did not connect to her at all; also s10 wasn't a strong season fr so that ain't even really her fault. i do like that scene w her n my jocks on the plane tho. i like jennifer love hewitt tho (maddie buckley is that bitch fr). she b cool in stuff.

alex blake, my beloved fr; she calms me. i love that. i really really really loved her on the team; i loved how that version of the team functioned so much. it's one of, if not my favorite version of the team. she is the best (later seasons) replacement character hands down. god, i loved everything about her. literally everything about her. i fr don't have any notes, 11/10 fr. i miss her terribly. i would also let her do unspeakable things to my body so long as she talks me thru it n i know she would. anyway, i hope she's happy teaching n living her life <3

okay don't jump me but like the v worst thing any show could do to me w any character is introduce them w terrible hair. it's shallow as fuck, i will admit that but if that's how i first meet them? baby! i will never get over it, i will never unsee it n it will impact my ability to consume that character moving forward. that to say n i do hate to say it but tara lewis is a character who has fallen victim to this. they shoulda never introduced her in that fuckass wig. it pisses me off jus thinkin about it n she was in it for a while so as shallow n terrible as it is, it affected my connection to her. but it is what it is, im not apologizing for it. also, she has the horrific misfortune of being introduced in the late late late seasons when for the most part they wasn't even trying in the writers room fr, which sucks. bcus im gonna b particularly honest here, i dont feel a thing for her or luke. i like matt bcus i watched beyond borders n bcus i mentally connect him to jj as her male tethered. i also, so sorry, don't care that she's queer; i don't like how that whole thing was written. it didn't do shit for me at all. really, in conclusion, tara lewis is a victim to criminal minds writing team n costume department. so justice for tara!! but no yea she not my homie or nothin like that; i don't hate her tho.

Hey all!

Happy New Year and I hope that everyone is starting this one off right because that last one can go pound sand for all I care.

I know I haven't really been posting and reblogging like I used to, but I honestly had to take a break for my own sanity. It's nothing here in particular, I've just been trying to steer clear of the internet social sites so I could catch my breath from all of it.

During this time me and my daughter have been playing two different BG3 campaigns and here are some things that we have learned:

Never let the druid talk to any animal in bear form if she is not great at conversation. Even if she is an animal other beasties aren't going to want to hear what she has to say.

Sometimes the barbarian may seem like a big dumb oaf, but other times he can be convincing enough to part far more intelligent beings from their loot.

It's never smart to stand on the edge of a large tree root when fighting hook horrors, or anything for that matter. But you can't tell a mage anything these days.

Ice spells are great until you accidentally make an ice rink around the very enemies you have to melee attack.

Astarion just disapproves of us. That's it, he just does not like anything we do.

My daughter is really, and I stress, really good at rolling that devastating 1. Critical Fail!

There are too many hot guys at camp!

You never, ever turn your back on an angry barbarian! (My boy Tal'Ruuk made me proud that fight)

Scratch is a good boy

I am in love with a magic user? Like I never thought I would say those words, but here I am, professing my love for that sweet but troublesome man Gale.

When in smoke form you are pretty much useless in a fight. Yeah, the mage thought it was hilarious though.

Badger form is not what you think it would be. What good is a bear sized badger?

My daughter's character Craylin (the aforementioned mage) is a delusional dragon boy, that's what the guy with the pen and the floppy hat called him anyways. Guess he doesn't believe he is part dragon, lol.

Sometimes the stupid plans are the ones that work.

What's your favorite and least favorite thing about each main character on BTVS and Angel?

I can really only answer this for BTVS. I have seen Angel, but not recently, and it just doesn't resonate with me the way BTVS does. Turns out, when there's no Buffy, I don't care.

Buffy:

I love so much about Buffy Summers that it's hard to pick a true favorite trait. I'm going to go with her intelligence because it's so often overlooked even though, in many ways, she's the smartest character on the show-- and the one who actually uses her brain when everyone around her is being utterly irrational and falling for every trick in the manipulative villain handbook.

My least favorite thing about her, by far, is what a doormat she can be sometimes. It's so frustrating watching her take so much shit from her friends and family and forget her own strength over and over.

Giles:

This is difficult to articulate, but I like that Giles chooses to be one of the good guys despite clearly having the capacity not to be, and how his own moral grayness gives him an understanding of the nuances of human nature that the others lack.

My least favorite thing about Giles is his emotional cowardice and immaturity. He does so many harmful and downright stupid things trying to run from his feelings. He never quite learns to put on his big boy pants and deal with his issues, and his being decades older than the rest of the cast makes it really glaring.

Willow:

I love it when Willow cuts down to the core of a situation and exposes everybody's bullshit. Her rant to Giles and Angel in Reptile Boy, reading Faith for filth in Choices, and shutting Parker down in Beer Bad are some of my favorite moments with her.

My least favorite thing about her is that she's actually incredibly self-centered and entitled a lot of the time. She expects the world to stop for her when she's in pain and when she thinks she's right, she's not interested in what anyone else has to say or silly things like basic human rights and autonomy.

Xander:

His bravery. Despite having no powers and no particular skill set, he ends up accomplishing some pretty impressive things through sheer balls and determination, and it's hard not to respect that. Trust me, I've tried.

My least favorite thing about him is almost everything else about him, but I guess that's kind of cheating. If I had to sum it up into one trait, I think I'd say it's his blatant hypocrisy that bothers me the absolute most. He doesn't even try to live up to the standards he sets for other people.

From here on out, my take on who is and who isn't a main character is going to be pretty arbitrary. For instance, I'm not including Tara, even though I adore her, because I couldn't think of anything bad to say about her and that probably means she wasn't fleshed out enough to be a true main character. If I skip a character you wanted my opinion on, I'm always open to more Buffy asks!

Dawn:

Her loyalty. My girl does not mess around when you mess with the people she cares about, and she doesn't play that 'don't take sides' crap. If you hurt someone she loves, you're going to hear about it. I know, I know, Empty Places, but she was clearly being manipulated there and if you look at her behavior overall, she's absolutely a ride or die and I love it.

Her expectations, especially of Buffy, are extremely unreasonable sometimes and it causes a lot of misery all around. I don't count it against her too much because it's a pretty normal teenager thing, but if there was one thing I could change about her, it would probably be that.

Angel:

His insight. He's very good at channeling his own emotional turmoil and self-loathing into understanding others-- usually Buffy, but not always.

His martyr complex and constant self-sabotage are super annoying. Though I love him, I do totally understand people who can't deal with his Man Pain.

Spike:

Devotion. I have all sorts of problems with him but he does have a capacity for sacrificial love that transcends all else-- including soullessness and demonic influence.

And my least favorite thing about him is really just the flip side of that same trait. He's simultaneously creepily obsessive and eye-rollingly sentimental and dramatic.

I hate Irving Azoff but even the devil wouldn't think of that. Jeff would hardly put a gun on his head to say that. There are other ways to insult Louis which they're pros at as we know. That bastard,still can't believe someone can be this pathetic and disgusting. Also,following larries' logic for a moment,even if his management told him to he still could've refused. And if it's all built on sabotaging Louis' career (he's literally besties with Rob Stringer, the man who undoubtedly has a big role in Louis' past and current sabotage to the point where he wrote his album at his house and sings happy birthday to his daughter at his concert) and lying to his bandmates then who cares? Harry's too talented for that band anyway (sarcasm that man doesn't have an ounce of talent in his body. Though,i must admit he's a great businessman as in ruthelessly ambitious and is ok with anything as long as there is profit).

And let’s say Larries are right and they are “husbands.”. If Harry had the courage to refuse to insult Louis, what would Sony or Jeff Azoff do— drop Harry as an artist? Refuse to promote him? Refuse to submit him for Grammys?

Harry literally has tens of millions of dollars invested with the Azoffs. Irving Azoff created FSM FOR Harry Styles, so his son could have a springboard into the industry.

Harry Styles is the single biggest earner for Sony Music. His critical acclaim brings in more money and legitimacy. How are they going to “threaten” their cash cow?

Let’s say Sony “punishes” Harry by “punishing Louis,” as Larries ridiculously claim without any evidence.

How exactly would they “punish” Louis even more? By asking BBC Radio to play his music less than zero?

Obviously Noboru is the more intelligent one. He finished high school and even went to college to become a lawyer to help people but it did end up backfiring after certain events happened in his life though.

If I can.. I try to avoid calling people stupid. Because I actually believe everyone has their own intelligence in some way or another. Like how Cobra and Yamato might not have book smarts, but they have a lot of street smarts. Unless you're a part of DTC. But Dan and Chiharu, they are legitimately stupid. They do not have any book or street smarts.

I would even help Koo. Because I want to break Dan's legs too, since a character like Dan infuriates me too much. More than any characters.

Oh. Obviously. If certain secrets are actual secrets, like Rocky's family for example, then Kizzy will stay quiet about those secrets. But Rocky only told the Rascals about his family because everyone was always a bit curious about why he was protect of women, now they know why.

But it the secret is funny, and even embarrassing, then she is actually telling everyone she talks to. Especially Rocky's girlfriend (or even his future girlfriend if they are not dating yet). She has to embarrass him.

Even though Rocky would never ask for help whenever he is attracted to someone, Kizzy would be able to recognize every expression on his face. From his expressions on his face, to the how she converses with the girl, possibly finding ways spend more time with this woman in all the ways he can so he could get to know her. Kizzy already knows. So many things he is doing, she knows that Rocky is really smitten about a woman that he barely knows. Kizzy is always Rocky's matchmaker.

Kizzy and Kaito are like Rocky's siblings. They are the closest to being a family, besides some of the other Rascals, since Rocky's family died when he was a child. They're his found family. Anyway. Yes. Kizzy just says and does things a sister would do. Which is embarrassing Rocky in every way she can, especially to women that Rocky's attracted to a lot of the time. Because why not. But Rocky's exasperated expression at Kizzy, his eye rolling, his "Shut up, idiot." while complaining at her.

"I told you that was a bad idea." Koo's always right though. Rocky is a man who should learn to listen to Koo, at least about some things.

That is confusing. Which is why I have never wasted my time learning any internet slang.. If I want to say something, I'll just type out what is gonna be said. I think everything would be less complicated that way.

I have pictures. Well.. Obviously. But if you want visuals of what they'd look like, how they dress, so on and so forth. I have pictures for them.

Blue:

She is definitely a tomboy. Her style is somewhere between a very traditional tomboy style to a punk tomboy style, depending on her mood for what she wants to wear. But her tomboy styles does have a slightly feminine look sometimes because she does wear makeup and jewelry (especially her piercings). She rarely wears dresses and skirts, but has been known to wear kimonos for festivals though. [Basically this is Blue's real style that is used for her. And, besides, tomboy aesthetics makes sense if she's friends with the Oya boys.]

I feel like Blue might open minded to watch any shows and movies, I do think she has her preferences though, but I think she'll watch a lot of media that interests her. So she'd even watch horror movies.

When it comes to her fragrance, I am still figuring out the scents I'd imagine for her. But, because she is blue, I imagine fruits or flowers that are blue. Like berries (blueberries) for fruity scenes. Though I'll still don't know why. So there isn't much about this bit of trivia yet.

Orange:

Since I'm still undecided on their relationship. Regardless of what I decide their relationship is - platonic or romantic, I feel like they are always sharing their snacks with each other. Orange would eat a lot of sweet foods, and most of the time she likes to pamper herself by buying expensive sweets from pricier bakeries. But she is so willing to share her desserts with anyone, especially Cobra, if they wanted to try the food. But if she goes to the convenient stores for snacks.. If Cobra and her weren't already walking their together, then there's a chance they bump into each other a lot when buying snacks a lot of the times. And Junko's always really jealous how much attention Cobra give Orange instead of her. Junko, just move on from Cobra.

Psychological, thriller, supernatural, gory. She will watch any genre of horror. She's not picky about horror movies at all, and that would be the same for Red too. And she (and Red) don't care about which language, country, the movies are from if it's entertaining enough.

The fragrances that I imagined for her.. I'm still kind of figuring out what her exact scent is. But I might have some vague idea how she smells like. There are a lot of fragrances I'd use for her, but I may be only mentioning a couple because I would be listing way too many. But just enough for you to have an idea for her. Sensual Ambers by Bath & Body Works - the notes: golden amber, wild berries, orange flower, lotus petals and creamy sandalwood (so that is floral, fruity, and woodsy at the same time); Twilight Woods also by Bath & Body Works - notes: lush berry, sparkling mandarin, soft mimosa, apricot nectar and cypress wood (is also floral, fruity, and woodsy at the same time too). There were other scents I might even use for Orange's character, but those were only some examples I'd choose. Like blends of floral, fruity and woodsy fragrance like those scents.

Red:

I guess it would depend on who she's related to. If she has a sibling that you might never meet in the story, I was thinking she would be an older sister. But, if by some rare chance that she's related to any characters of High&Low, then that would actually depend on who's her sibling. But I'm leaning more towards her being an older sibling, if she has a sibling anyway. So I'm still figuring out this trivial fact.

She should have a connection to Daruma? Because if she does end up with a connection towards them.. Originally I've imagined her as a relative to Hyuga. Not necessarily a sibling, but a cousin who was from America. Or even a childhood friend who was like a sister, but not an actual sister - even though you wouldn't think they were not related with how close they are. Don't know. I'm still figuring it out.

I don't blame her. If her mother's alive, but abandoned her with a even more abuse father.. I would think my mother is dead to me anyway.

So is her style similar to the lolita fashion? Maybe not that exact style anyway, a similar style? [Is this based off the person's actual style?]

I love spicy food. The spicier the meal, the better the meal is. The mild foods are considered bland for me.. I always need spices for my food.

I don't necessarily know which flowers I may associate with any of my characters. Unless fragrances count? But it depends on the character I'm creating, because sometimes I have more details for characters in comparison to others. Sometimes. Really depends on the characters.

After she uses her collectable treasures as weapons, does she end up finding the items again so she can still keep everything? Or what?

I can say Orange is good with children, maybe Blue too, but not really sure about Red yet. But someone has to care for the children though.

Makes sense. Skirts and baggy shorts would be a lot easier to pull on, just because pants would be too difficult to wear with prosthetics like this one. So her style doesn't surprise me. I can imagine that for her.

That is a problematic thought.. Because Koo's a man who has to help women be happy, so part of him might feel obligated to help to make sure the girls are in a happy family. But at the same time, Koo actually knows to not get into another person's personal life like DTS keeps on doing. At least Tettsu originally tried stopping them, even though Dan and Chiharu never listened to him. But I can say Koo is frustrated any time he helps them, but only if he does ever decide to help them with this though. Just leave the man alone. He's on vacation for a reason.

I've only ever watched a couple music videos of curiosity. Their music and style is very eccentric. That's all I can say.

So.. I knew about the men of Aizawa and Enari were married, but I did not know Jun (Enari) had an affair until you just told me so now I have mixed feelings about his character. What the fuck, Jun. So apparently from what I've read, he also forced her to have their baby aborted too. What the fuck, Jun. Now we know why Rocky never allows Enari back into the White Rascals, Club Heaven, or anywhere near women. Since Rocky probably beat the guy into a coma. Stay loyal to your spouses. Apparently no one knows what loyalty is anymore. Like why bother to get married, if you're just gonna do something like this to someone.

I wish that I never knew that about Enari. What the fuck, Jun.

But I did know about the multiple scandals of Alan (Bernie) though.. A lot of sexual affairs happened. What still actually bothers me about all his scandals though, is that those women he was with are getting just way too much blame than he is. I did originally want to have a original character to related to his. But, after finding that out, I decided not to for obvious reasons. I can't look at him the same way again either.

I know two other actors who were in scandals during the filming.. The actor of Ukyo (the silvery blue haired Daruma man) was suspended in his acting career for some time when he got caught illegally gambling in a casino. And the actor, Seungri who was the Korean man Lee from the Korean mafia, had to be written out of the script after he ended in prison for so many different scandals from gambling to prostitution.

Don't know about anyone else.

Exactly! The Daruma babies are still young. So they do not know how to control their alcohol intake yet but the older Daruma guys do since they've been drinking ever since they were old enough. They are used to drinking now. Almost like seasoned veterans when it comes to any experiences they have compared to the younger members in Daruma anyway. So there might be some older guys, like Kato, who would like to make sure they're okay from time to time so that no one know dies from partying too much. Some of the older guys are like big brothers.

I have watched the High&Low many times. And I did start rewatching again, but I'm also not rushing either because I did watch this series a lot of times already. I will rewatch the show soon, but right now I have been slowly rewatching the movies at my own pace though. Because, y'know, many obvious reasons why.. Same as your reasons anyway.

Obviously Koo disapproves because the man has boundaries, but any other person involved in this situation does not. It's blackmail reasons that Kizzy would have those visuals but Yamato and Noboru just want to get entertainment from this whole situation. Blame the alcohol.

Same with Rocky? Because he has a lot of smoking scenes through a lot of the franchise. But yeah.. Hyuga was smoking a pipe. Someone's mentioned what he was smoking, but I can't remember what it might have been. Tobacco? Opium? Or what. I don't know. Maybe I'll just try finding answers another way then. If I can find that out. I don't know.

A lot of people in my life are smokers.. So I am used to being around a lot of smokers. And I'm short, so I never get smoke in my face either.

Obviously. I could see them taking anyone out of an abusive situation in any way they can.. Regardless of the abusive situation since Rocky, he's against every way of abuse (physically, mentally, emotionally and sexually). Kizzy might fight if in a necessary situation. But Rascals are against hitting women, so I doubt the male Rascals would do that if a situation like this did occur. I don't think the women in Club Heaven is the type to do this, I imagine them as more of these supportive types who have women still together in some way. Or something like that is what I imagined those girls being. But imagine any situation where he - Rocky - finds out his girlfriend was mistreated by other women, that they were used and abused in any way other women. Does not matter what type of abuse it was. Since Rascals are against harming women.

I've never seen The Glory. So I can't comment on that.

I didn't know about that until recently. I know laws are just different in Asian countries compared to here. So like if a celebrity was just going to do something stupid like drinking and driving... Wait till after any of production is over for that show or movie, rather while in productions. Because then the entire scripts has to be rewritten - without that very character, possibly with a different plot compared to the original end. But that's how I feel though. So I don't know if another season comes out from this one, part of me hopes so just because I completely love the two main male characters (and actors) in the show. And since I've never had the chance to read any webtoon comics, I don't really know how different the original ending is now. I did still enjoy the show. But I'm completely curious what the original ending was, so I also they do release the original script for people who may want to know what it is though. I don't know. But I get annoyed when these things happen.

rocky has oldest brother energy, kaito has middle brother energy, and kizzy has baby sister energy. kaito’s just chilling, but kizzy is causing problems and making trouble. she’s acting bratty and then rocky’s like ‘stop it’ and then she over-dramatically pouts about it.

her mother is very much dead to her. i imagine her mother might come back to find her after her father hets arrested, but ryuko would reject her. they don’t have a good relationship and her mother did leave when she was very young.

it’s not exactly lolita, but kinda girl punk-y and eccentric. she’s kind of got some basis in her fc’s (yeule) style, but only the clothes and accessories, not really the makeup. some stuff she wears i can imagine on ryuko, but other stuff doesn’t suit.

depends on where she’s fighting. if she’s in nameless, hinami might go around and pick some up or someone else might find them and give them back to her. if outside of nameless, she’ll probably just leave it and collect some new ones from the junk around nameless. she keeps all her favourite pieces though.

skirts and baggy shorts definitely, good for her prosthetic and good for running around in. i dont imagine that she wears a lot of dresses, though she’s more tomboyish anyway. also she gets all the shoes that they can’t find pairs for, since she only needs one anyway.

it’s not as if the mother and her daughter were in an abusive situation, they were just having trouble communicating between themselves. if it was a bad situation, koo would step in, but dtc was really just meddling in these peoples lives. koo just wants his vacation, he’ll make sure the club heaven girls are all doing okay, but let him relax please.

it’s just so frustrating. like affairs are bad enough in themselves, but to be someone famous, like you gotta know that’s not going to stay private. just get divorced ffs, then you can go do whatever you want. cheating is so stupid.

hyuga doesn’t care, but kato, sakyo and ukyo are looking after the babys. i hate that their called ‘babys’ instead of ‘babies’, at least on some of the sites ive seen. hyuga’s like ‘do what you want, but don’t throw up near me’. he’s just chilling, the boys are getting drunk, kato is forcing them to drink some water.

koo is like ‘behave, you’re adults’ and kizzy, yamato and noboru are giggling over videos and pictures of drunk cobra and rocky. kizzy is going to show the rest of the rascals whenever rocky doesn’t let her get away with troublemaking.

imm just not looking. i don’t see it. it’s not happening. i’m just really not a fan of smoking or drugs of any kind. i had friends and family who smoked and i was always just like ‘i’m gonna go and not participate!’. the smell always made me sick and i had pretty bad asthma as a kid too.

i really enjoyed the glory. it gets into the background of all the characters, including the bullies but doesn’t try and make you sympathise with them. i do love a good revenge story too. it’s a little tough to watch at some points, because of the bullying scenes and everything, but it’s still pretty good.

i think the laws in asia are a lot stricter, even around stuff like weed which is legal in (some?) places in america (idk im australian) but you can get arrested for it in japan? like that actor from tokyo revengers? idk enough laws in asia, but it’s still a shitty thing to be drinking and driving. it’s literally so dangerous and there’s so many awful stories and deaths that have come from it.

shame to do something so stupid while preforming in a show and forcing the writers to change the original plot line.

Hiya, sweet!

1 - the character everyone gets wrong

Jamessssssssss (betcha thought i was going to say Sirius, didn't you? haha psych) And look, I get it. We don't really get much of James through the books. It's mostly all favorable stuff said after his death, which is a common thing with everyone once they're gone. No one really wants to address the bad points, do they? And I'm not going to say that everyone gets him wrong, because they don't. I just don't think enough people look deeply enough into his character and who he most likely was.

James was an only child (have you ever met one of those? ugh) born to wealthy, older parents who most likely spoiled him beyond belief and inflated his ego to massive proportions. We see a small piece of him during SWM, and while maybe it's the worst point in time to see him, I don't think that's true. James was portrayed as clever, highly intelligent, having to try little to keep up and excel over everyone else. Traits like that come with worse traits attached. James was arrogant, probably a little conceited, and he was a bully, at least to an extent. People mostly ignore that. They paint him as sunshine and rainbows, always the bright spot in the darkness, never flagging or giving into doubts or falling prey to troubles. That's just not sustainable for anyone, no matter who you are.

Do I think James had a brighter outlook on life than his other friends? Yes. Do I think that was his entire personality? No, of course not. Personally, I think James was blunt and ran away at his mouth more often than he didn't. I think there was little he wouldn't say without thought. I think he was fiercely loyal to those he cared about but a bit of an idiot sometimes, too, especially when he was younger and very immature. There's just a lot of nuance to James' character that I've constructed in my head that's hard to find in most writing.

7 - what character did you begin to hate not because of canon but because how how the fandom acts about them?

I wouldn't say hate, but I've become very cautious in what I read and whenever I see his name, and that character is Regulus. He seems to have become the Marauders fandom's version of a catchall character. The fandom seems to enjoy piling all their life grief on his shoulders, which is fine, do what you want, but again, I sometimes feel like his character is being stripped apart to accomplish this. And Regulus is another one of those characters we know nothing about from canon, so it makes sense to build him up into whatever you want, but Regulus was a Black. He took on something terrifying at an impossibly young age when he took the Mark. There's no way he would have survived any of that as long as he did or had the bravery to go after a Horcrux if he was so fragile that anyone could have snapped him like a flimsy twig.

8 - common fandom opinion that everyone is wrong about

I'm gonna do it. Hate me if you want, but I'm doing it. I'm bringing back the height discourse hahahahaha (i'm laughing because it's terrible). The whole thing is so stupid, I'm sorry, it just is. I honestly don't care either way. Big and tall strapping Remus or tiny Remus; Sirius as tall as a tower or pocket-sized Sirius. It literally makes no difference to me, and in my own writing, if their heights do matter for some reason (see: At the Healing Edge of Broken where Remus is taller than Sirius, but it's for a purpose and barely referenced at all in the grand scheme of things) I'll adjust them accordingly. But, in canon, inside the text of the books, Sirius is tall. It says so. Harry doesn't point out much about height throughout the series, but he does make a reference to this about Sirius, which has always led me to see him as tall, at least in some scope of the word.

And honestly, I blame the entire height discourse on the movies. Gary Oldman is so much shorter than David Thewlis, and it's become soooo clear to me that so many people draw their visuals for all these characters from the movies instead of how they're described in the books (possibly because they've never read the books; but even people that have read the books do this, i've noticed). Sirius has curly hair in the movies so he has curly hair, even though it's never mentioned in the books. Remus has a mustache in the movies so obviously Remus in writing must have a mustache and scars on his face and all sorts of other things for all these characters that are never even mentioned in the books. And that's a lot of opinions all rolled into one that I'm not going to go into detail about, but it bugs me so much.
