MOMENTS

The youngest of the McKinnons, Sebastian was doted on from birth onward. Despite having a twin sister, it never affected the amount of love and attention he received. By the time he was three, he understood that he was the light in his mother’s eyes, and he used that to his every advantage, sometimes without meaning to. The one person’s attention he couldn’t get, but genuinely wanted, was his older sister. She kept her distance as they got older and Sebastian couldn’t figure out what it was he was he had done wrong. Everyone else in the family doted on him, and gave into his every whim. Why couldn’t she love him the way they did? To spite her, Sebastian found a multitude of ways to get her in trouble with their parents, each more devious than the last. 

When he was eleven he finally understood the hype about Hogwarts that his older siblings had experienced. He made friends with people all across the board, and became something of a social butterfly. Sebastian was good at getting people to see him for who he wanted them to see, and not for who he actually was. While his friendships ranged across the board, there were a select few people that Sebastain considered to be his actual friends. Few people knew he was at his core, and he preferred to keep it that way. 

By seventeen, Sebastain was brimming with resentment in the form of James Potter. Everyone in the McKinnon family revolves around him, except for Marlene who had replaced him. She was supposed to be his sister, not James’. Still, he wore the mask of the dutiful son who only ever wanted to do the right thing. He kept up appearances with the people he knew would join the Order, and played the role of the bleeding heart that just wanted to help. All the while, he got closer to the one person he desperately wanted out of the way. However, all the while he cultivated his friendship with Amycus Carrow, and started to find himself in a crowd of friends that wanted to be loved and adored the same way he did. 

Twenty one years old, and Sebastian is filled with both rage and failure. All his hard work had come down to trying to axe, one James Potter, the golden boy that helped turn his sister against them all. His attempt to kill James had been foiled, by Marlene no less, leaving his cover as a double agent blown. Still, he gets his point across when he turns that rage onto his sister and sends her to Saint Mungos.  In the end, it made no difference to Sebastian. The rest of the McKinnon family was still standing behind him, and the Death Eaters were winning. Rodolphus was now in power, both as Minister and as the head of the Death Eaters, and the McKinnon boys were sitting pretty at his side. Sebastian had made himself indispensable. At least this new world would appreciate him as he deserved to be.

CONNECTIONS

SIBLINGS - When it comes to his siblings, Sebastian could take them or leave him. His parents had doted on him endlessly, and while he wanted his siblings to also adore him, he didn’t want to have to return their affections. Alexander was the oldest and supposed to carry the responsibility. While Gabriella was his twin, Sebastian didn’t feel overly attached to her, but at least she wasn’t a disappointment. Marlene, however, was the one he truly despised. She had ignored him throughout most of his life and hadn’t bothered to dote on him the way the rest of their family had. In his eyes, Marlene was dead to him, and he would do whatever he could to bring her pain and ruinment. 

AMYCUS CARROW - While Amycus was something of a fanatic, he could appreciate the other boys dedication. Working with him almost always meant getting a job done, and their shared taste for vengeance was something that had bonded them. Amycus wanted revenge on the ex that wronged him, while Sebastian wanted revenge on his sister, together, they could bring them both down. 

ISLA AVERY - If there was someone he could consider to actually be his friend, it would be Isla. She was without a doubt someone that was as driven, intelligent, and manipulative as he was. Together, they made a dynamic team that could accomplish just about anything. Sebastian had a hard time truly caring for people outside himself, but Isla was someone he at least enjoyed spending his time with. She made him feel alive more than anyone else did, and she was someone he sought out whenever he could. 

OLIVER ABBOT - Out of all the Death Eaters, Oliver was easily the most malleable one out of the lot. Sebastian wanted to see how far he could push the other boy before he broke. Whether he snapped mentally or decided to drop out of their ranks, Sebastian didn’t care, he just wanted to see which would happen first. He doubted that the other boy would rise to the challenge, but if he did, at least Sebastian would be surprised. By the time Sebastian was done with him, he would either be a killer soldier or broken beyond repair.
