I found this vernal pool while out hiking in a new area today, and it’s probably the best thing I’ve seen in a very long time. First and foremost, it was way more vibrant IRL than the picture- it’s blue?? I would like to clarify that I don’t live anywhere tropical, just the pacific northwest. Usually ponds and bogs are brown or black in color, and too murky to see the bottom. This however, was much different. Definitely going to use this for my story ideas! This area was my favorite 🥹

I went frogging in my local woods after a heavy rain. Lots of temporary, fish-free pools means happy amphibians! Got to see lots of beautiful frogs and tadpoles (plus a bonus crawdad).
