I love Nick’s facial expressions for Henry because it always looks like he’s experiencing happiness for the first time. He’s constantly surprised at how much Alex cares about him and how happy he makes him because no one has ever treated him like he matters before. genuinely asking why do you draw show!annabeth when drawing book!percy?

i got introduced to percy jackson through watching the show and loved it, so when i read the books i could really only picture them as their show versions. maybe for a few seconds when their appearances were described did i picture their book versions but it immediately went back. book!percy i could picture slightly more just bc i like dark haired boys but i genuinely cannot picture annabeth blonde and white (and im a white blonde girl myself). i’ve tried drawing book!annabeth and it just doesn’t feel like her to me and frankly i’ve started to feel that way about book!percy too. their show appearances suit the characters so well methinks

when it comes to actually drawing book!percy it’s purely aesthetics. like if im drawing him with just jason the duo looks better with opposite color pallets. and with my avatar au it feels wrong drawing white/blond people in atla fits so drawing book!percy was a way around that if only slightly
